I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Try using diskpart to format your flash drive.
Open a command prompt (run as administrator).
Type in diskpart and press enter
Type in list disk and press enter
Type in select disk x (substitute x with the corresponding disk number of your flash drive in the list) and press enter
Type in clean and press enter
Type in create partition primary and press enter
Type in active and press enter
Type in format fs=ntfs label=Kingston_32GB quick and press enter
Type in assign and press enter
Type in exit and press enter

I hope that will fix your problem.

Hello there,

I bought a new Kingston USB 32GB, but its not working. When I opened the USB from the pack and attached for the first time, it had virus in it. I cleared it and it was working.

But now I try to plug in it, but it don't works. Windows keep saying that USB not recoganized.. I get this error on every computer I attach it.
Other plug and play devices work fine..

I'll appreciate any help on that,
Kind Regards

So, it had a virus on it when you first bought it? Was it new? If so, you may want to contact Kingston's support.

hi, when i click on my computer and bring up my drives, i hover over C drive and click properties and its shows 92gb used, when i go into C drive and highlight all folders it only equals 32GB, where has 60gb gone? this was a windows 7 pc with a windows 10 upgrade.

also all games are installed on another drive and my C drive is purely windows only.

thanks

A:windows 10 C drive = 92gb? all files on C drive = 32gb?

The default Windows settings don't show hidden files or operating system files, that might be why you don't see everything.
Try WizTree and see if it shows all the folders and files.
They have a Portable zip available, no install needed.
Just unzip, run it, and scan the [C] drive.
Antibody Software - WizTree finds the files and folders using the most disk space on your hard drive

Post a screen print of WizTree if you don't see all folders/files or have any questions.

A:Solved: Kingston usb 2.0 drive

When you assign a drive letter in Disk Management, are you saying the drive letter is unassigned when you reboot? Or it the issue that you simply can't see it in My Computer?

A:Kingston USB Drive 32 GB Not Working

Hi phoenix5271,

Try formatting the USB drive to see if that clears up the problem. You can format using FAT32 or NTFS depending on your needs. If it still fails then try copying the same exact folders/files to a different storage device. If that works then the 32GB USB drive is probably defective and needs to be replaced. Check with your reseller or Kingston for a replacement.

Hi,

I've been looking into purchasing a new jump drive, and 32GB jump drives are coming down in price just in time for Black Friday sales. I was wondering if the speed takes a hit when you have a jump drive that large. I primarily want to use it to transport large video projects, and since i fill up my 8GB all too often, i felt 32GB would fit like a glove. Although speed concerns me, opinions anyone? Thanks.

A:32GB jump drive speed?

I've heard rumors and have even experienced this personally. I have 2x4 GB, 1x16 GB, and 1X32 GB thumb drives all of the same brand and all dual channel. My 4s and 16 are very fast - but my 32 is usually very slow compared to those. I'm not sure that this problem exists throughout all 32 GB - and I even doubt that's the case - just sharing my personal experience. I don't know technically why it would be slower either - just that it's very obvious on mine. Mine are OCZ Rally 2 drives.

I have just bought an XPS15 9550-8076 from an outlet store and it came with a 1tb hdd + 32gb SSD.Currently the OS is installed to the 32gb ssd and the 1tb is just set as a data drive. Immediately im having issues as the OS drive is tiny and i have managed to almost max it out just installing office.Looking online it seems that the SSD should be a cache drive and the OS should be installed on the 1tb, is that correct? I spoke to dell technical support earlier asking this question and I was told that the OS should be on the SSD as i received it, however the person i was speaking to did not sound very confident or like he understood exactly what i was asking.
I'm wondering if having bought from an outlet store this was returned and restored incorrectly.

The 1TB will be coming out later this quarter. As for pricing.......

Amazon.com currenty lists the 512 GB drive at $ 1750,- that’s nearly $3.5 per GB.

Most common SSDs currently go at about $1 per GB which still can’t compete to HDDs on a per GB scale.

Hi,

I have a Kingston DataTraveler 100 (8GB) flash dive. My pc detects it, installs the driver but the USB doesn't show in 'my computer'.
So, I can't open it and the device is also not shown in 'disk management' but it is listed in 'device manager'.

I also have another USB drive that works perfectly, so my USB ports do not seem to be the problem.

Thanks.

A:Kingston Flash drive won't open

Try a "reinstallation". Leave the drive connected, then Uninstall it in the Device Manager, disconnect the drive from the PC and then restart the PC. After Windows starts, connect the drive and it should be detected and reinstalled. If there was some type of corrupted status this should fix it.

You didn't in indicate whether you just bought this or if it failed after some use. Neither did you indicate your operating system.

If using anything newer than Win98, you don't need a driver installed BUT you should have the latest Service Pack installed.

If XP, try running an sfc /scannow to refresh the Windows files.

You can also try uninstalling ALL USB ports in Device Manager and rebooting to have them re-detected 'fresh'.

Hi

Both of the hard drives in my computer are 40GB, but one of them only has about 32GB accessible. it used to be in a 95 computer.
Does anyone know how to access the other 8GB?

A:40GB hard drive only shows 32GB

Are you using it as the OS drive in a computer now? If not the easiest way is to copy the data you need off of it and on to another drive. Then to format it as FAT32 or NTFS, perhaps deleting the partition and recreating if a simple format doesn't fix it.

This table: http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs_vs_fat.htm seems show that maybe the reason you only see 32 gigs is because the drive was probably set up and formatted in the 95 computer, which would have had it limited to 32 gigs even with FAT32.

I am looking to buy a new flash drive. I am looking for 16GB or 32GB drive. There is only two requirements: cap-less, and at least 10MBps Up/Down speed. I have hit up all the usual site (newegg, tiger direct, and amazon) with some luck but I am not willing to spent over $100 for a flash drive.

Any ideas?

A:16GB-32GB flash drive options..

I have a Patriot Dash 16GB and it meets your requirements, but barely. Writing to it after several minutes is probably down in the 15MB/sec range after initially starting out at 70+.

Avoid the Patriot Razzo 16GB, I also have it (bought it when I thought I lost my Dash) and it is painfully slow. There is also a 32GB version of it, but I imagine it also sucks.

I don't have any experience with the Xporter XT Boosts, but by the name alone I expect that it would be faster than my Dash. But it is uglier than both the Dash and the Razzo

Don't know anything about other brands because my only other flash drive is a 1GB Sandisk Cruzer Mini and its pretty slow, but at 1GB even slow doesn't take too long to fill. Just be wary of Sandisk because of the U3 crap that is on the new ones (thankfully mine doesn't have it).

I have just acquired a Dell XPS 14 (L421x).  It appears to be unused as there is no software other than the Win7 x64 O/S.* C: drive is a 32 gig SSD (physical drive 1).  The C: drive contains all the operating directories (Windows, Program Files, Users, etc).  It is almost full with about 400MB remaining.* D: drive is a 500 gig SATA (physical drive 0).  The D: drive is empty with 500GB remaining.
When I tried to install software (Office 2016), there was not enough space available (surprise!).  I can't imagine that this drive configuration is factory-original, but I'm unsure of how to proceed.  Do I need to do a factory-restore using the 500GB drive as the C: drive?  Is that even an option with a factory restore?

I have a Sandisk 32GB flash drive with some important documents on it. Upon plugging it into my laptop just now it I have the horror of finding it completely empty Has it somehow been formatted? And what are my chances of recovering any information off it? And how would I go about this? The documents have been deleted off the other computer.

A:Sandisk 32GB Flash drive wiped

Before you unplugged that USB thumb drive from the other computer, did you open its window and confirm the documents had been copied to it?

Did you use the "safely remove hardware" function before unplugging that USB thumb drive?

If you copied those documents to that USB thumb drive and then deleted them from the computer, that was a bad decision because you had no second backup copy to fall back on.

A USB thumb drive also isn't a reliable backup media source like an external USB hard drive and CD-R's/DVD-R's are.

A:1TB External Drive shows 32GB of volume available

Did you check the external drive to make sure windows could see/access and had a drive letter assigned to it before you used it?

If this were my problem; I would go ahead and delete the backup you made (you can make another one), then right click the drive and make sure windows can give it a driver letter. You might have to go through the process of creating a new simple volume, which will give it a drive letter. Once that is done and you can see it in "file explorer" and in "disk management" with a drive letter. Then format the drive and then go ahead and re-create your backup of your laptop and save it to the external HDD.

when I plug in the flash drive I don't get any detected sound on my windows and it's not there on my computer either, just like as if it wasn't plugged in at all, I tried using different usb ports and it's the same, I'm guessing it's a hardware problem with the flash drive itself not software at all.

I don't care about the flash itself but the files inside the flash are really important to me I just need to copy them on my PC and that's it.

I'd really appreciate your help guys.

I tried it in another laptop and the pen drive works fine. I have Renesas USB 3.0 utility in my laptop and I've installed latest version from HP site but BSOD still happens. Hi all,

I have a problem with my Kingston thumb drive which is unable to format, Windows kept telling me that it was unable to complete the format. I had try low-level format but to no avail. The only thing that I can do is format it to exFAT. exFAT format seems to be working just fine and I am wondering what is wrong with it. Can anyone clarify the problem and guide me to the solution?

Thank you.

I've been having issues with my 128 GB Kingston USB drive. I can put information in it, but after 10-20 minutes, the information becomes unreadable. The same happens when I unplug the drive.

I've already reformatted it several times, and that didn't help the issue. It's a FAT32 drive, and cannot be reformatted to NTFS by either Windows or programs used to reformat drives. I've also tried using chkdsk and the error function in the Tools window, and neither of those work.

Can anyone help me stop it from corrupting my stuff? It's getting tiresome, and I don't want to have wasted money on it.

A:Kingston USB drive constantly corrupts info

Common with Kingston USB flash drives.
You might try one more format with FAT32... add some stuff, reformat. Add some stuff, reformat.
They can NEVER be formateed with NTFS
and if still bad, toss it out and get an ATV, Patriot, or Voyager, or other highly rated brand.

Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible for my laptop to run the Seagate Hybrid Drive with 1TB and 32GB NAND? The mantinence guide only specifies the 8GB NAND, but they are both 9.5-mm, so I dont know why the 32GB NAND wouldn't work. Hello, I got a Lexicon OMEGA USB recording interface with Cubase LE 4 audio software, it wasn't working so I tried a 100% uninstall, I'm not sure if it is 100% gone or not...

I ran checkdisk/error checker on both hard drives. 2nd hard drive worked fine, which I ran 1st.

Then the C: ran & when I checked the properties, now it's using up 130GB of memory from 32-40GB just before the check disk...
Please help/advise.

Should I just simple reformat the C: from windows? How do I do that?

Can I just copy the 32GB of files while looking in the C: over to the 2nd harddrive right in windows....reformat it then move them back over?

I have tried to install the Anniversary update to my machine via the standard download through windows. Using an attached 64gb USB (and even an attached 64gb SXDC) after being told insufficient storage does not work as the system then asks for 3gb to be available on the destination drive. Clearing all none essential programs, recovery images and using CCleaner still does not give the needed amount of drive space. Now every time I log in  I am asked to update but am at a stalemate. Has anyone found a way around this - for example using a cloning program to the USB and then cloning back to the installed 32gb drive onboard?Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

I have a firewire/USB external hard drive (Western digital). Recently the hard drive died. I bought a new hard drive 120GB Maxtor Diamondmax plus ATA/133 HDD (Old one was 80GB) to replace. When I put it in and try to format it in Windows XP, it will only read 32GB (31.4). If I put this hard drive internally into a tower, I can get it to work only if I boot with the new hard drive boot disk first, then reboot with windows. I tried a friends external hard drive...took the drive out and put it into my external hard drive box as well as DVD burner (external) box...worked fine. Is there a special way to format a hard drive for this purpose...or will only selected hard drives work for this????

A:Kingston DataTraveler 16Gb pen drive - slow speed under Windows 7?

Hello andreibutilca and welcome to Seven Forums.

I don't think 6.5 MB/s is bad. Remember, advertised speeds are done using the manufacturer's own testing guidelines and do not necessarily represent real world situations. It's kinda like my ISP. They advertise "up to" 6 Mbps download speed. I'm lucky if I get 3-4 Mbps.

A:Exact software steps to remove the 32Gb mSata cache drive in preparation to replace HDD with SSD.

You should be able to disable acceleration in the Intel utility, I believe on the Performance tab..  The mSATA should show as a separate drive in Disk Management after the configuration has been changed.  I assume you know where the Intel Utility is but if not, look at the hidden icons on the Taskbar.  Right or left click, whatever it takes to show the option to open.
When you do this, give it time to unwind the configuration and you may see a message regarding such.  Then if you want to reset the mSATA you can do that.

Hi all,Now the only decision I have left to make before ordering is whether to spend an additional $100 to upgrade from 16GB (1x16) to 32GB (4x8) RAM now (after warranty or never). The only clear short-term advantage that I see to upgrading is running in dual-channel mode or Virtual machines, though my understanding is that dual-channel mode makes more of a difference if you don't have a dedicated GPU; however the P50 does. There might, of course, be other advantages that I do not see right now.Since I plan on using this machine for 6-8+ years, I might come to a point where I really wished that I had gotten it now.Advice, please? Thank you!

I have now decided to try and use the disk again but when I go into Disk Manangement the drive only shows up as 31.49GB instead of 400GB (or thereabouts). Even BIOS shows it as 33822MB.

I've managed to start pushing the limit of GB RAM on my y - so obviously I'm interested in more When I first got my laptop GB was listed as its max capacity for RAM y50-70 32GB? Max RAM and Crucial still lists my Laptop as Max GB however that seems to not truely be the case I was poking around the y50-70 Max RAM 32GB? Lenovo Solution Center and noticed that it listed my Laptop's Max supported memory as GB Interest tickled I dug deeper into my CPU specs and discovered that GB memory is listed in its specs From what I can gather GB RAM modules didn't really hit the consumer market until around late-summer This would put it after my Laptop was made so it's possible my Laptop simply wasn't offcially certified for the GB modules since they didn't yet exist Scanning reviews of technically compatible GB modules shows people having success using them in other Lenovo laptops from a similar time period as mine Going by specs of the modules they match my GB modules in pretty much everything except their capacity nbsp What's the likelyhood that my Laptop actually supports the GB SODIMM modules

A:32GB RAM in an Optiplex 790/990?

Hi endeitz,
Welcome to the community
The system model optiplex 790 is designed to support only 4 GB memory module in a single slot .
In these two optiplex models each slot supports a maximum DIMM Capacity of 4GB and a total of 16GB in optiplex 790 & 990. This has been tried practically as well. The USFF version of these desktop models which is "Ultra Small Form Factor" supports only 8GB.

I have a 32gb PNY usb flash drive. I formatted it, now it says there's 64gb and the disk is write protected. I have tried everything possible with it. Any suggestions?

A:32GB PNY USB device

Some USB sticks have a switch that allows you to lock the drive. If you can find the switch, you can unlock it and remove the write protection from your drive.

You should check the Permissions setting: Open the Windows Explorer > right-click on the drive > click Properties > go to the Security Tab > and click on Edit > Select your username and check if you have Write Permissions. If you don’t, check the box for “Full” for full permissions.

Format the drive from a DOS Prompt. Check to be sure you know what drive letter is being assigned to the stick. Then go to Start > type: cmd > right click on cmd.exe > Run as Administrator > type "format space drive-letter colon" ( format x: ) and press ENTER. (Where X is the drive letter assigned to the stick).

See if any of those things work.

in in of itself, 32gb of ram is good... but i want to make sure that going for the lower price isnt gunna come back to bite me in the A**.

here is what i was looking at
Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ares Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-1333C9Q-32GAO

has small heat sinks which is a blessing and a curse, i wanted smaller because i am wanting a noctua dh14. simultaneously, 32gb is bound to cause some heat...
it only has one rating which is worrying me, but the 1 rating is 5stars also...

i need some persuasion here... is this really a good choice, and will it even fit under a dh14?

A:help with good 32gb of ram

G-Skill is a very good brand...I use them. Just make sure that the RAM your getting is on your mobo QVL. The DDR3 is way cheaper than the DDR2....for what ever reason. Other than that you should be good to go.

Just look around for the feed back and reviews of the RAM...generally a good indicator if good or bad.

Hi,
Yesterday, I purchased an XPS 15 (9550) laptop, the devise was sold as having a 1Tb harddrive + 32Gb SSD.
I am unable to see the SSD under either Windows Explorer nor is it listed in Disk Management. The boot time very slow in excess of ninety seconds.

Is there away to confirm if the disk has been fitted and is operating correctly.

A:XPS 15 9550 32GB SSD

It is not a storage drive - it is a cache drive for the hard drive.  It will not show up under Windows -- but will in system setup (F2 at powerup).
While it will (after a period of time) speed up the operation of the hard drive relative to a system that has only the spinning drive, don't expect barnstorming performance -- the hard drive itself will be the system's bottleneck.  If you're looking for good performance, replace the hard drive and the cache drive with a native solid state drive (you'll need 256G or more to run Windows acceptably in the long term -- anything less and you'll run into space issues).

I just received my brand new Dell XPS 15 wich is supposed to have a 1TB disk along with a 32GB SSD disk,
Since the booting of the machine is terrible slow I looked for the 32SSD disk, but Windows filemanager does not show it.
Is it hidden or just somehow not active (or even present?).
Do I need to activate it?
Thanks!

A:XPS 15 9550 1TB but no 32GB SSD?

It won't show under Windows - go into system setup and you should see it.
While the cache will speed up the hard drive, it's no match for a native SSD - and if the system came with McAfee, ditching that alone will speed up the boot.

Is the WD detected properly? Maybe your BIOS has problems with hard drives bigger than 130GB? Look for a BIOS update for your motherboard.

Right click on your main drive (C), Properties --> Disk Cleanup --> Clean Up System Files --> checkmarks next to every thing, and go ... If you still don't have enough space after this, you can install a free partition manager and nuke the Acer recovery partition and contents and resize the drive to include the newly freed up space. I have an Asus laptop with a 32GB drive and 2GB RAM; with Windows 10 + Office 2013 + Full version of Adobe Acrobat and VLC Media Player and Skype I have 7GB free.

I would like to upgrade my HP Envy laptop to 32GB RAM. This product, CT204864BF160B looks like it will work, but i can't find anywhere that says so for sure. Any opinions on this? After my last Win8 OS updates i get out of memory messages when Eset scans run. The OS doesn't free memory up once the scan is finished. I have to reboot to reclaim resources.regards,

A:Is 32GB RAM possible in an HP Envy?

i tried the memory mentioned above. It installs properly but when i try to boot i never get any indication the system is working. All that happens is that the caps lock LED blinks rythmically. I believe this is a system hardware error indication. The same behavior happens with the F.03 and F.18 BIOS versions. The same behavior ocurrs with 1 (16GB) and 2 (32GB) memory sticks installed. i looked at Intelligent Memory products. They don't have anything that sounds compatible with this system. They claim their products will work in any 5th generation CPU family system . i do not believe this. imo, the proper wording is that the memory may work, not that it will work.   In any case the 1015dx uses a 3rd generation CPU.

I'm looking for 512MB pc 2700 DDR non ECC. I have found the Kinston Value RAM at new egg. I also have a friend that has some they are selling that is Kingston KVR333/512R. It doesn't say if it's Non ECC. Does anyone know if I can use it? I have done a google search and gone to the kingston website and can't find my answer.

A:Kingston Value RAM

If your PC takes non-ECC ram, then it makes no difference if the memory you buy is ECC or non-ECC.

If you have a circuit city next to you, theres a good deal going on the kingston 512MB DDR3200 right now.. $23 after a $35 rebate..
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/King...sem/rpsm/oid/108887/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

In store only.

By the way, ECC is Error Correcting ram, it's generally much more expensive and is only used in high end servers. You wouldn't generally use ECC ram in a home PC.

I have an old computer (16 GB) which still has the Windows 98 operating system on it. On that computer I have very important files stored, which i need to be moved onto a Windows XP computer. Now, to help out with this I have a kingston 1gb flash drive, what my concern is will this flash drive work? (The computer that I need the files transferred is at the office which is far away) I did try to place an external hard drive (Western Digital) and while it did see it, it required a driver for it to operate, which the external hard drive didnt have. So how do I get the files moved? Please help? will kingston work?

A:Kingston

Kingston has several USB flash drives. You would need to go to the Kingston site and see if they have a driver for 98SE for your drive.

Did the Western Digital external not have a 98SE driver? Check the Western Digital site.

Dell XPS 9530/ has 2 SODIMM memory slots which support DDR3L DIMM at 1600 MHz. Dell XPS 9530 supports a maximum of 16 GB system memory. The processor supplied on XPS 9530 supports 32GB as per Intel but however Dell has only tested 16GB memory on it.

I was just 'lurking' and skimming thru another post about the Page File and it prompted me to make this post.

I'm not clear on: In general, because of the 'wear factor' of a SSD drive, is it better to use a fast HDD instead of the SSD? (I have a WD Black Caviar with a 128MB cache.)

Second, I have 32GB RAM (I do photo editing and some video work). But I do like to have a lot of programs running/open at the same time. Still, I don't think I've often gone over 30-50% RAM usage in normal/typical computer usage.

So, with 32GB RAM, do I even need to worry about the Page File?

I have an XPS14 laptop now out of warranty which is running very slowly. The ePSA shows that HD0 has failed (code 2000-01-42) I presume that this is the mSATA 32GB SSD rather than the 500 GB HD which appears to be OK. I can buy a replacement mSATA on Amazon or eBay but would it need setting up with software? Thanks in advance for advice.Roger

A:Replacement SSD mSATA 32Gb

That error refers to the hard drive failing - not the SSD.
Before the drive fails completely, make a set of recovery media if you haven't done so - -you will need it once you replace the drive.
You will also need a backup of all your data that's on the hard drive, as it will be lost when you replace the failing drive.

Hi: I have an envy dv7 laptop Product# C2H77UA#ABA with a 32GB mSSD which came with Win8. I recently upgraded to Win10 and the boot times now seem much longer. The Device Mgr entry for this LITEONIT LMT-32L3M-HP mSSD says it is working properly, but the events tab tells me "Device not migrated." The Control Panel does not include an Intel Rapid Technology entry. I guess this means the mSSD is not functioning under Win10. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. -Paulstein

A:32GB mSSD and Windows 10

The function of the 32 GB mSSD drive is to act as cache memory for your notebook to speed up memory access for the operating system.  Unfortunately, HP has not provided an updated IRST driver software for your noteboo since Windows 8. A Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) RAID Driver for Windows 10 is available from Intel at the following Intel web document.  Donload and install it. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25165/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver

Normally doing this, would not affect your data from returning to the proper jumper position.

You can try ZAR to recover your files : http://www.z-a-recovery.com/unformat-tutorial.htm

There are many other data recovery programs H E R E.

Note:

This is by plugging in the drive as Slave of course

I currently have windows 10 pro x64. I upgraded to a 500gb ssd. Now windows sees 32gb/ 16gb usable. I am suppose to have 32gb of ram. I ran memtest86 today, and it sees only 16gb of ram out of 32gb. Does that mean my ram is bad? Or is it the gigabyte ga990fxa-ud5 r5 that is bad. Because the uefi bios on the board sees the 32gb of ram.

Hi,i'm having some really annoying problems with my USB stick. The first is that I only get around 9-11 MB a second when I should be getting around 15-20 or higher right? OR is it being slowed down due to the HDD only being a WD20EARX 2TB Green,as it is a power conscious HDD and doesn't run at 7200RPM or higher?

The other problem is that the USB stick only gets recognized on some of my USB 2.0 ports, and on none of the USB 3.0 ports until I go to Control Panel>Hardware and sound>Devices and Printers. Then I open up the Verbatim Drive and it then comes up in My computer, and with the auto play prompt. I've no idea what's going on,help would be muchly appreciated - Matt.

Hello Oumachou and welcome to TSF,

What USB 3.0 controller does your computer use?

I have had many odd issues with my Asmedia controller on my PC...

I wouldn't worry too much about the transfer rate between the drive and the PC... You will almost never get the maximum data trasnfer speeds.

I just learned that the 2GB RAM can be upgraded to 8GB. But now, can the 32GB emmc flash memory be replaced by a 64GB module (if they exist). The unit has a bay for an HDD, but lacks the connector. I opened the case, removed the battery and circuit board, found the RAM slot, but where is the emmc module. The youtube videos I saw showed only the RAM module exchange, but none showed an emmc module exchange.  Any idea would be appreciated.

Hi all nbsp For my education is there any reason why Lenovo upgrades RAM from default to GB in a x GB configuration even on models that by default come with 32GB 4x8--not 2x16? Why ram = default x GB of RAM nbsp I don't believe these motherboards support quad-channel RAM though I could be wrong nbsp What inherent benefits are there to having four sticks of RAM vs two nbsp GB RAM systems obviously comes in x so the system can support x nbsp nbsp Does it have something to do with the chip density being less compact on the GB chips equaling less heat generated per chip nbsp However I would think that having fewer RAM cards should mean more airflow through the empty RAM slots thus nullifying the additional heat elsewhere nbsp Unless it boils down to location and spreading out the heat so it isn't so concentrated near the motherboard etc nbsp Or am I totally on the wong track nbsp Thank you nbsp nbsp -----------IBM T XP PRO SP display MB DDR RAM GB HDD ThinkLight DVD Lenovo Ideacentre H AMD Athlon II X GB HDD GB DDR RAM -bit Win AMD G
