No sound coming through 'stereo mix' device

Q: No sound coming through 'stereo mix' device

Hi, as the title suggests I've got a bit of a sound problem:

I wish to record some of my digital sound (e.g. my friends in Skype) using Audacity and stereo mix. However, using the built-in stereo mix record feature Audacity has, no sound is being recorded. So I checked out the stereo mix device under 'recording devices' in 'Sound' and found that it was not detecting any sound at all.

I'm not totally sure as to how all it's settings must be, but it's like this now:

Listen to: enabled
Playback through: Speakers (Realtek HD Audio)

The device is set to be 'used' ofcourse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: No sound coming through 'stereo mix' device

Go to Edit -> Preferences and to the 'Audio I/O' or 'Devices' tab, and make sure the the audio INPUT is set to the source you want to hear from, in this case, the pc sound card or such, apparently Windows 7 does not change the input device when you select the Stereo Mix function for some reason.

If that's not the case, maybe your sound driver isn't allowing the stereo mix to work, you can try the Control Panel configuring method, which you can find at the audacity website (i can't set up links yet, but go to wiki.audacityteam.org/ and add this: index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel) [sorry for this, but it's for a good reason, i'm not a bot/spam ]
kind of a pain to read through and configure everything, but will fix the issue.

If you don't want any trouble at all, you can just plug you speaker in the PC's 'Line In' plug (the blue one), and set Audacity's Input device to "Line in" or such.

Good luck.

A:"Device in Use" No Sound Coming From Speakers.

I would try uninstalling the audio drivers via Device Manager...then reinstalling same from the Drivers CD or the website of the system manufacturer.

FWIW:  The notation that drivers are current...IMO, is practically meaningless since current drivers can/do become damaged and incapable of doing what they are designed to do.

Try a driver update. There's a posting in the forum about new Realtek drivers coming out. That often fixes problems.

Hello,
I have installed Windows 7 to several PCs and this is the first time encounter a problem of this kind. The config is:

AMD X2 4200+
2GB ram
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum rev1.0 with ALC850
etc.

As the title says in stereo there is no sound to the line out jack. I tried several different drivers from Realtek, the ones from windows update and even 1 from Nvidia and it's always the same thing. The weird thing is if i switch to 4 speakers, 5.1 etc all of them have sound except of the front speakers. The board is not the problem since it worked fine on Windows XP. Anyone has any idea other than going back to XP? Maybe there is a way to change front and back speaker's jacks or some other way to make the back speakers act as front?

Thank you

I noticed today when trying to make some settings changes to my speaker properties that my sound is in mono, not stereo. I vaguely remember making a change a while back, but whatever I changed, I don't recall. I tried everywhere i could look to see if I could determine why the speakers were mono but nothing was evident. This is a systemwide thing, not just an app or two.

Any suggestions?

Hi, Im having problems getting the sound to play on both of my speakers. I am hooked up to a reciever via a 3.5mm to RCA cable. ive tried plugging the RCA end of the cable into several ports in the back of the reciever, although Im only familiar with that being a problem when plugging into a phono port.
does anyone know if there is a setting within windows that i havent found that allows me to switch between stereo and mono?
Or do i need a different cable?
I had it plugged into an old sony stereo and i could get sound from both speakers, but only when turning the surround up. the surround sound knob acted as a volume control for only one speaker, with the master volume knob controlling both speakers.
weird huh?
not sure if this is a windows 7 problem or a hardware incompatibility issue.

Okay, I tried everything from enabling mobo sound from bios, updating drivers, reinstalling drivers, and enable stereo mix from sound control panel. Whatever I do, I can't seem to get my stereo mix to work, it's there and enabled. It also says that the device is working properly, but when I play a song or any sound that I hear from my speakers/headphones from the "playback" tab.. it does not relay to the stereo mix from the "recording" tab. So the stereo mix isn't catching "what i hear", but IT IS enabled. Does anyone have a clue why this would happen? or any suggestions to fixing this problem?

A:two sound cards/stereo mix

If you want to record "what you hear" (what is playing on the PC's speakers) you don't need the on-board sound. SoundBlaster has the "what you hear" option (what SoundBlaster calls the System Mixer).

You can only have one default audio device for any function. Dual sound cards will not work for all functions. Actually, you should be able to do everything with the SoundBlaster and disable the Integrated audio in the BIOS so it doesn't conflict with the SoundBlaster.

Bascially, if I try to record through stereo mix (for podcasts or live recording over the internet) There is a horrible white noise, pulsating, echoing sound that gets louder and louder and doesn't stop. Stereo mix is set to default device, obviously, and my speakers are the default playback device, everything else is disabled.

What you've described is "Feedback".
Let's not change too many things at once.

Things to check:

Single left click on the Stereo Mix icon then select "Properties".
Go to the Listen Tab.

Uncheck "Listen to This Device". (if it is checked) Reboot, test record.

If not that-

Same procedure as above but select the "levels" tab.
Reduce the record level to 15, reboot, test record.

If none of that works go to Playback Devices and select Speakers, then properties, go to the Enhancements tab and disable ALL effects.

You could also be getting feedback from the Realtek "Environments"
This is basically a hardware/software Reverb system to simulate "space". It can feedback upon itself if the levels are too high.

A:Stereo Mix Not Detecting Sound

Two suggestions.

1. Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the RealTek and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. If there were any Windows corruptions this will (usually) fix it.

2. Another option is to try the System Restore back to an available restore date that is when the sound worked correctly.

I do a moderate bit of sound recording from time to time and 'Stereo Mix' isn't always the best choice. Try either 'Wave' or 'Line-in' as an alternative. It can be very annoying - hearing the audio coming across your speakers and the level meters in your recording software showing nothing.

First of all to all those having problems with sound I would suggest the following Go Stereo Windows Also, driver. Mix? sound to Control Panel Programs Stereo Mix? Also, Windows sound driver. and uninstall the audio driver Reboot Then try to play sound You might think that you would not hear any before installing a different audio driver or reinstalling Stereo Mix? Also, Windows sound driver. the same one But actually there is a default audio driver that works with your chipset in Windows that installs when you uninstall the manufacturer sound driver and although the Windows driver may not have all the bells and whistles of the Realtek or Soundmax or Sigmatel or whatever driver its basic functioning might be better and it uses much less memory That said I am wondering if any of the Realtek drivers support what used to work in XP and has been problematic since--choosing quot Stereo Mix quot for recording input so you can record the sound digitally that is playing on the computer Has anyone got that to work with one of these drivers

A:Stereo Mix? Also, Windows sound driver.

There are many current sound drivers that have the Stereo Mix (System Mixer) function. I have two systems with RealTek (current technology Z77 motherboards) and a Lenovo Laptop with Connexent sound. All have Stereo Mix.

XP drivers are not compatible with Vista/Win7/Win8 as these OS' handle some audio functions differently so you do need newer drivers. However, some of it can also be the sound hardware chip and what it supports, especially if its an old hardware style made for XP. On the Dell forum, many users that upgraded an old XP hardware system to newer OS systems had to install a separate OS compatible sound card to get the System Mixer function.

The generic basic function Windows installed HD Audio Codec doesn't usually offer all the functions of regular sound drivers. It will get you PC audio, but not much more.

Have you tried selecting "Show Disabled Devices"?

Right click on the Microsoft speaker icon in the task bar.
Select "Recording Devices"
Right click on any of the recording devices listed there.
Enable "Show Disabled Devices".

If you have a Stereo Mix it will show up there.

If not, you could try and find a program like Audio Hijack which will probably do what you need.

ive got intel DG31PR motherboard, which has realtek ALC888 sound onboard...ive got a 5.1 speaker setup and i can play DVDs with 5.1ch audio fine, get sound on all the speakers...but with stereo files like mp3 songs,i only get sound on the front 2 speakers,i need to upmix it...how do i do that????

there is no such option in the realtek control panel and ive got the latest drivers.

A:Stereo sound on a 5.1 speaker system,help

if you dont have the option, u can always try to use filter codec, such as ffdshow decoder, which is capable of doing that. i strongly suggest you to get K-lite codec pack, beside the vast availability of codecs installed, ffdshow is also included, to improve my music performance, and lot of things.

what media player are you using?

I'm having a sound problem on my cpu for sometime now.It was caused by using mame(game emulator) and it seems to have disabled the wide stereo field i was previously getting. The sound I get now is similiar to a mono sound.I have recorded something to my cpu via turntable, and using a soundforge direct x tool i was able to see that there is no stereo image.Right now I have tried reinstalling drivers, overwriting windows sound dll files, reinstalling direct x.And I have had no luck. Can anyone help me with this?I can also try and get more descriptive with the type of sound i am getting if needed

I recently came to a sound hiccup when I wanted to set my live stream to record audio and video from my desktop video works fine no question but speak to my viewer s on skype with my microphone I ve always had stereo mix enabled and I believe it s worked fine in the past but recently it s acting up For some reason only the Microphone or Stereo mix work one at a time I either have to disable one to get the other work or set one as the quot Default Device quot When setting as the default device that particular option will work and the other will not When stereo mix is set the microphone levels the little green bars are nonexistent as I run my finger past the mic or blow into it Same with the stereo mix if the Mic is set to default and I play sounds What s weird was when I was in Skype pressing one function to be the default did not change enabled; sound yet no Stereo mix produces what picked up sound That is when I had to disable the other in Stereo mix enabled; yet produces no sound order to get one to work I am on Realtek Stereo mix enabled; yet produces no sound High Definition Audio and my driver is all up to date Stereo mix enabled; yet produces no sound I have done countless searches most of them lead to how to enable stereo mix and the few that actually recognize the problem I have seem to not have a posted solution nbsp

A:Stereo mix enabled; yet produces no sound

I don't know if this might apply or you've checked (i've seen posts about it) but if you're running Vista or Win 7 check the tabs under Control Panel->Sound as i believe you find a check box to Allow an application to grab exclusive use of the mic. So i think the first app that grabs it works and others might not

Hey,

I have the Plextor Digital Video Convertor and I have quite an old Video Camera.
I have converted the video and sound fine it's just that the Camcorder only has a Mono audio output.

How can I make the audio stereo so it can be played on a Surround Sound System?

The camera is Samsung VP-L600 and the cable I have plugs into the A/V Out and there are two connectors at the end: Yellow (Video) and White (Mono Sound). I don't want to buy another cable.
Thanks
deanpcmad

A:Make Mono Sound Stereo

There is no stereo information in a mono track, but you can simulate stereo using an audio editor such as the free Audacity:http://audacity.sourceforge.net/A basic technique is covered here:http://www.selected-audio-reviews.com/arti...o_to_stereo.htmWhat format are your video files being recorded in? The difficulty is going to be that the mono sound is incorporated into the audio layer of the video file, and extra sound would have to be added in as an overdub. If you simply want to record straight onto left and right channels, you would need to get a y-splitter lead for the audio connection, so there is two connections available. This would record two identical channels, sound would come from left and right speakers instead of just one, but there would be no stereo "surround" effect.

In Windows 7 there is a Stereo Mix option under the Recording Tab.

I have VM Ware with Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.. but there is no Stereo Mix option listed. I have the disabled devices checked and it still doesn't show up. I'm using VM Ware Player Version 4.02

I have searched for this problem and have found others having this issue but have yet to find a fix for this.

A:Solved: VM Ware Sound Stereo Mix

Stereo Mix is not an option for Windows7. It's for Sound Card and because your Sound Card support Stereo Mix, It is available on your Windows 7.
But in VM Ware it's different. It doesn't use your Sound Card Driver , It just use a Standard Sound Card Driver so that you can hear and record, It may not support all your original Sound Card options.

I am plugging the 1/8" stereo cable to the audio line-in on my computer to transfer analog audio data from the tape deck to the computer. Ok...then, how, where, and from what program do I hear the sound played? I don't just plug the cable in, hit the play button, and then I would hear sound coming out from the computer speakers, do I? I actually tried, but no sound is coming. How do make it sound on my computer when the tape is played? Thanks.

Same thing with the microphone, no sound came out when I spoke through the microphone. Where should I get the sound from?

A:Problem getting stereo sound from headphones

I think I found a workaround. Go to C: -> Program Files -> Realtek -> Audio -> HDA. Move the mouse over the names of the files until you find, under the File Description, "Realtek HD Audio Manager" (on my computer, the file is RtkNGUI64.exe). Run that file. Under the second tab (I have it in another language, would translate to something like "listening experience" in English), uncheck the option (the option would translate to something like "improve audio" in English).

This seems to bring back stereo.

Yesterday, my sound suddenly stopped working on the right channel of my headset.

At first I thought it was the headset, I replaced it and got a new one but the issue is still there.

I checked the sound configurations and have both channels equally. Even when I increase the volume on the right channel, I still do not hear anything on the right part of the headset.

Currently using Windows Vista 64 bit version,

Driver is "Realtek High Definition Audio".

And this problem started happening suddenly(no known changes in computer).

Anyone have any ideas?

A:Sound not playing in right channel(stereo)

If this is the computer in your less than helpful system specs, please include information such as Manufacturer and Model of Computer if big box (HP/Compaq, Dell, Acer etc...) or the same if custom built for the Motherboard, Processor, Ram, Video, Sound card, Hard drives, Power Supply and Case.

As replacing the Head Set did not correct the problem, please describe where you had the headset plugged in. is it the front headset port or the port on the rear of the case. While it could be a driver issue, it could also be a hardware issue with the headset port on your system. If you have it plugged in the front port try connecting it to the rear port. If you do not have a front port and are only using the rear port it may get a little more dicey.

Just recently, the stereo mix on my computer won't record sound. It's been working perfectly in the past, but one day I went to record music (for a youtube video) and none of the green bars next to the stereo mix icon is showing that music is playing. If you someone could help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated!

A:The Stereo Mix on my computer isn't recording sound?

Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click to higlight the RealTek audio device and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT check the box to also uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. This fixes a lot of problems and a first step to fix your problem.

Shortcut to Device Manager, Hold the Windows key down and then press the Pause/Break key. In the panel that comes up, Device Manager is in the task list in the upper left.

One, is realtek hd audio compatible with usb sound cards?
Two, is Stereo Mix, which normally comes with realtek audio drivers as far as I can tell, something that can be used with usb sound cards (see attachment for meaning).
Three, will the sound card be affected by my computer specs?

Hi,

I am reading a lot of complaints about the lack of "stereo mix" on many (most?) sound cards these days. My Dell Vostro with onboard Realtek also lacks this capability.

And yes - I've tried all sorts of drivers and unhidden, etc on the recording screen, etc, so I've decided I'll buy a PCI card that does do this (still). But which one? With which driver?

Please can anyone give specific guidance so I know what to buy?

A:Which sound cards DO have stereo mix for x64 Win7?

I'm using an HT Omega "Striker 7.1" PCI sound card with Windows 7 64 bit. Works great and has the System Mixer function. Actually, I had a newer SoundBlaster Xfi installed but had problems and the Striker 7.1, that I pulled out of my old Dell Dimension E510, works better than the SoundBlaster.

It's available at newegg here Newegg.com - HT | OMEGA STRIKER 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card

One issue, and that is with ANY add on sound card. You will most likely lose the front panel headphone and mic jack capability. Dell uses proprietary (and undocumented) front panel connections on many systems (I do a lot of support on the Dell desktop forum).

If you buy the Striker 7.1 you will probably have to download the Win 7 64 bit driver from their web site. http://www.htomega.com/striker.html

I have a pair of stereo speakers, and because of the length of the power cord, and the length of of the 3.5mm jack cable, switching the speakers around is impossible. When I put headphones into the headphone jack in the left (or right channel) speaker, the channels are restored to their proper place. Now every time, as a result, every guy trying to murder me on the right sounds like they're on the left.

I wont it for both music/sound/audio streaming from the internet and music/sound from the computer , I have on the computer. And be able to go in setting and turn it or off or add or remove effects.

This is a bit of a weird one I m attempting to record music from vinyl onto my pc I have my turntable connected to an amp which is connected to the line-in socket on my soundcard The first problem I noticed was that I was only recording the left-hand track of the stereo sound The right-hand track was just recording as silence At first I thought this must be due to a connection problem somewhere causing the right-hand track signal to not reach the soundcard However I then discovered that if I just wanted to listen to music from the vinyl through my computer speakers then it played both left and right tracks perfectly So both left and right signals are definitely reaching my soundcard fine and the problem is purely with recording I checked the recording balance it was set at dead centre so that didn t seem to be the cause of the problem However I decided to experiment with the recording balance a bit and this is where it gets really weird As I ve already said with the recording balance set perfectly central it records the left hand track but no right hand track If i move the balance gradually over to the through line-in stereo sound Problems recording right the left hand track gradually fades out as you d expect but the right hand track continues to record nothing But the really weird thing Problems recording stereo sound through line-in is when i move the recording balance gradually over to the left At first i still get all the left hand track and nothing from the right but then at a certain point with the balance about Problems recording stereo sound through line-in of the way over to the left Problems recording stereo sound through line-in the right hand track suddenly records a distorted sound and then with the balance any further to the left than this i get the right hand track recorded at about of the volume of the left hand track What is going on Do I have a faulty soundcard Can anyone help me P S I also don t think its not a problem with the software I m using because I ve used two different sound recording packages with exactly the same effect nbsp

Hi,

I recently changed my motherboard (to Asus Maximus Extreme II) and it came with a soundcard (SupremeFXII 7.1).

I have tried to record sound from the card, but the stereo mixer is missing in the sound menu. The only icon is CD Volume, mic volume and line in.

I have tried the following method:

For Windows Vista users
- Go to Sound in the Control Panel's classic view
- Select the Recording tab and right-click any of the devices listed.
- Check "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
- Stereo Mix should show up. Set it as default.

But Stereo mixer doesn't show. I also installed drivers from Realtek without any positive results.

Any software that silves this problem??

Hi
I have a SB audigy Platinum soundcard and a logitech 5.1 speaker system.
I have my soundcard mixer set to 5.1, my wires are connected properly ( I try optical and analog jacks and the same problem occurs).

My problem is that I only have stereo sound (front and sub). I do a test withthe creative mixer, and there is only silence for the center and rear speakers. I tested my logitech speakers with it's own testing button and they show pink noise on all 5 speakers.

What is going on? I updated the drivers, and I still have the same problem...

I have a Sony VAIO VPCEB24FD and I have installed manycam and disabled my webcam driver. The video works just fine but no audio is broadcast. I've read on the forums that it has something to do with a "stereo mix". So the audio driver I have installed is a "high definition audio device" by Microsoft. Digital version 6.1.7600.16385. Can someone walk me through the steps I need to take to be able to broadcast audio through manycam?

Thanks in advance!

A:No sound being projected through manycam (stereo mix missing?)

I can't help you with Manycam software. But I might be able to help you find the Stereo Mix device.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound > Manage Audio Devices.
On the Record Tab you would find the Stereo Mix Device. If it is not shown, Right Click on any white area inside the Recording Tab and Check: "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
Now the Stereo Mix device should show. If it doesn't, post back.
Right Click on Stereo Mix and select "Set as Default Device" to activate.

It's not really a "Microsoft" problem. It's the Toshiba or sound vendor's drivers. If you don't have the System Mixer you will have to try and find a different driver. Have you checked Toshiba for an update?

However, have you checked the Recording panel, in the Sound Panel to see if it's there but not enabled? Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally Sound. In the Recording Tab section if the System Mixer (or Wave Out) is not displayed, RIGHT click in an empty space in that panel and then click to show disabled devices and disconnected devices. If the function now appears on the Recording list you can select it to be the default Recording device.

Using an analog stereo connection cable, a main USB connector and (Headphone) via high definition as default playback device, I want to use Stereo mix (Which is enabled and supposedly working, not muted and up to date) to play sounds in Skype calls. I checked out the recording devices and the green bars for stereo mix are not moving when sound is playing.

My friend on the other hand has the same head set using the same analog stereo cable and playback settings, but is able to play sounds in the Skype call.

A:Stereo Mix Via High Definition not picking up sound.

Doing some research on that motherboard, I see it has RealTek HD Audio.

I'm not sure exactly what you are hooking up. "Using an analog stereo connection cable, a main USB connector and (Headphone)". Can you explain a little more on exactly what you have?

With a mix of analog conections and USB it can be a problem (I have a recording studio and use both).

I recently purchased a CREATIVE Sound Blaster Audigy.

I was looking for a Stereo Mix or What u Hear Option in my Recording Devices, and could not see any option to use those recording Devices. I have 'Show disabled Devices' and 'Show disconnected Devices' Ticked, yet nothing shows up.

The only options that are avaliable are:
Line-In
Microphone
Auxilary
S/PDIF-In

I'm wanting to stream music on Ventrilo, and if its not possible to use Stereo Mix or What u Hear, is it possible to use another method using the other 4 options that are avaliable?

My current OS is Vista 64-Bit Home Edition. I have Windows 7 but not wanting to install it till i have my new External HDD.

Any Ideas or options that i havent seen? or is it simply, you cannot use Stereo Mix or What u Hear on this soundcard?

Thanks for your time.

Hello everybody I'm new here at seven forums. I have a question about the sound recorder program in windows 7. I have a headset with a microphone and I use the sound recorder program to record audio or record myself. Like I said the headset has a microphone and I when I use the sound recorder program before it use to record both left and right channel. I could hear audio from both channels or speakers. But now all of the sudden I can only hear sound from the left channel or left speaker. Weird right? I know. So I need help from you guys why is this happening. Why is the sound recorder program only recording on the left channel?

In RealTek, there is an option to have the speakers still work when a headset is plugged in. It has nothing to do with Stereo Mix (which is for Recording).

I don't know what type of control panel VIA has but look for a panel, probably in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound.

Hello

Basically, my problem is that Fraps does not record the sounds that I hear from my computer. I have the most recent Sigmatel HD audio codec and on Fraps it is set to "Detect best sound input".

It has come to my attention that I need a stereo mixer option enabled in my sound properties, which I have looked for and don't have. I've read numerous tutorials on how to fix this, such as downloading a new driver or editing the registry, but only for notebooks.

I am using Windows XP, with a Dell XPS 710 Desktop, not the M1710 notebook!

I was hoping someone could help me out with enabling this Stereo Mixer thing, thanks.

What I'm trying to do is use Fraps to record my game my Teamspeak conversation and my own voice at the same time Normally I could simply enable stereo input and turn mic + - Sound 2Snd input (Stereo / Microphone) Cards feedback on So I can hear my own mic through my speakers However I am using two sound cards to accomplish this Why I can use one card for audio through teamspeak skype while recording the computer audio through my other card This allows me to talk on teamspeak and skype while recording instead Sound input - (Stereo + Microphone) / 2Snd Cards of them hearing my game This is great to have set up as I record alot but there is Sound input - (Stereo + Microphone) / 2Snd Cards one thing missing I want one of two things either Sound input - (Stereo + Microphone) / 2Snd Cards to have the recording also record my microphone Which is input on a different sound card so does not go through stereo input on the second card Or I want to separate the audio from Teamspeak and Skype to the other card except still hear it through my speakers I thought of using a physical splitter except backwards I mean instead of plugging in two pairs of speakers to one input plugging one pair of speakers into two ports Thats impractical in of cases though so I doubt such a device even exists So back to plan A Is it possible to make microphone from sound card A to come back through sound card B I know this might be confusing but thats sort of why I came here to maybe get some answers I doubt any software does this online and if it did I wouldn't know what to search for to find it

After power cycling my receiver, I only have the option to select stereo under speaker setup. When Irestart my PC or log off/log on, it shows the option to select 7.1 surround sound. I am looking at this by right clicking the volume systray icon and selecting playback devices, right clicking my playback device and selecting configure speakers.

My set-up: I have 2 monitors and a TV / AVR receiver combo plugged into a XFX 7870. My receiver is connected with HDMI to my PC and has 7.1 surround out.

I have tried blocking pin 19 on the PC end of my HDMI cable with electric tape but that has not fixed my issue. This happens every time I turn off my TV and receiver and then turn them back on. I shut off my reciever and TV at night but not my PC so this is a bit annoying.

Thanks in advance for the help!
