Preferred Solution: Certain websites not working error 324

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine. If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware. If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread. Thanks and again sorry for the delay. We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Information on A/V control HEREPlease download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:Main MirrorThis version will download a randomly named file (Recommended)Zipped MirrorThis version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.Temporarily disable any real-time active protection so your security programs will not conflict with gmer's driver.Double-click on the randomly named GMER file (i.e. n7gmo46c.exe) and allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.Note: If you downloaded the zipped version, extract the file to its own folder such as C:\gmer and then double-click on gmer.exe.GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan when first run. (do not use the computer while the scan is in progress)If you receive a WARNING!!! about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system...click NO.Now click the Scan button. If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.When the scan is finished, click the Save... button to save the scan results to your Desktop. Save the file as gmer.log.Click the Copy button and paste the results into your next reply.Exit GMER and re-enable all active protection when done.-- If you encounter any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode.

I may have a similar problem. I'm running XP with IE 7.0.5730.11. Currently, I cannot go to either the home page of ebay or paypal. Other computers in our office are running other versions of IE and they cannot display either of these home pages as well. One user here has a different browser and both pages load fine. I can go to any other web page such as google.com and things work fine. If I want to go to ebay, I go to google, search for something that has a link to an ebay listed item, and I can get inside the ebay site, log in to my account and browse listings, I just can't go through the front door!

I've deleted all cookies and files and have tried to change some of the security settings but nothing seems to work.

Thoughts please

Hello and Welcome to TSF

Do you receive clues from IE7 as to the nature of the problem? Is it a problem with certificates, for example?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931850

Have you cleared the cache, history, temp & temp internet files along with cookies as you stated?

The problem could be caused by the coding on the web site.

What type of network are you using?

Is there a firewall installed?

Hi,
I dont know whether this is the right place to post my question.

Few websites suddenly shows up a sedo parking page. We have around 6 computers connected to the LAN. For few, the site works. For others, it shows up a sedo parking page.
It is so frustrating that we are not able to track where the problem is really?
We have checked with our hosting provider, ISP. They have no issues from their side.
Can anyone help out? Any ideas? Any suggestions?

I have found two specific websites that do not work on my computer. I will try on another computer in my house, and they work fine.

They are www.paypal.com and www.amazon.com

Any tips to fix this? The fastest and easiset would be the preferable choice. I am using AVG Virus software - and MS Anti Spyware.

Hey!

The site KozeGuides doesn't seem to work at all. No error message or anything, stays complete blank and white. I was on this site a few days ago but now it doesn't load for me at all. I asked a few friends to check out if the site worked for them and it worked for them perfectly. I've scanned my computer with Kaspersky Interent Security (6.0.2) which was updated and nothing popped up.

I would really appreciate it if somebody could help!

Thanks!

I have Firefox, and when I try to go to my yahoo email, my gmail account, and a few other websites it says

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at us.f523.mail.yahoo.com

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

When I try it from another computer, it works fine. Anyone know how I can fix this? The exact same thing happens when I try it using Internet Explorer. Thanks

Hi,
I have Windows XP with IE7 installed. Since few weeks I`m not able to open certain websites like http://www.kaspersky.com/kav_latest_...link=206913862 or www.irctc.co.in. While I checked that the Kaspersky website is not opening from the Kaskersky antivirus software itself. However all these websites are working fine when I try from another PC. Please tell me if there is any Trojan or Virus in the PC. I did the complete PC scan and still couldn`t able to find any.
Please Help.

I forgot to tell that for www.irctc.co.in if I try with ip address of the URL it actually opens the website. But then when I click on any tab in the website, it again gives error message saying "Page Not Found"

Helloooooooooooo

For some really odd reason certain websites do not seem to work (FedoraForum and TechGuy). I was just on Techguy not 30 minutes ago, and I haven't been able to access Fedoraforum for about 3 days. Now when I google it the loading bar stays at halfway forever. I used CCleaner to clean everything, then I tried again to no avail.

These sites don't work in Windows or Linux, and I wouldn't be surprised if I couldn't access this site in a few minutes/days........

Any help will be appreciated.

A:Certain Websites not working

well, I see the sites just fine. My first guess would be some sort of spyware, but if you already checked for that, then I can't see anything like that happening at all.

You might try reinstalling firefox, or trying IE?

Hello,

I am having a problem with certain websites not working. For example, no matter which browser I'm on (I have Opera, Chrome, Firefox and IE) I always get a "cannot open" error page when trying to open pages like Bing, Hotmail, and more importantly a website for an online class I'm taking (Aleks.com).

It used to be where I could get to the websites and it would run just fine, but then all of a sudden I would get the "cannot open" error page for one of them and I wouldn't be able to get to any of them until I restarted my computer. Now I'm not able to get the them at all even with a restart. Could I possibly have a bad plug-in which would be making it so the sites don't show? What else could be the problem?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi,

I've got a problem using IE8 on Windows 7 where it won't let me connect to certain websites. One of these websites is www.utorrent.com.

Normally, I would think that this error is occurring because the website is down, however, when using my laptop (using Vista and IE8), which is connected to the internet via the same router, the website is available.

I have disabled Windows Firewall on the Windows 7 machine, and all anti-virus software, but I still have this issue. Can anyone help me and give me some instructions on what I should do?

Thanks

I'm finding a lot o sites are timing out all day today, yet they;re all site that rarely if ever go down. So i checked one of those sites that allows you to check any given website and it tells me it's on my end and that those sites are up. I scanned with malwarebytes and a few others, tried 3 different browsers, check my task manager for things normally not running and checked my startup items. Nothing has changed. restart the PC and those sites are still down. Any ideas?

Yeah, I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I don't now whats wrong with my laptop, running Vista SP1, I haven't been able to access a myriad of sites like dell.com, lenovo.com, etc... It works if I use a proxy so I thought it might be my ISP or router, however the sites load perfectly when I go there from my iphone which is connected to the same network/router. I'm not sure whats wrong, your help is most appreciated...

I have 3 ASP websites stored on my webserver. Recently 2 of them stopped working. The 3 websites are sharing the same website folder on IIS with different bindings so when 1 website is down usually the 3 of them will be down. I think the issue is with the DNS. The DNS records are stored on my server. When loading the website www.fk-sales.com on the browser an error will appear immediately so I'm thinking it's not running any ASP code on the IIS website. I've tried restoring Windows Server, resetting the router and disabling the firewall although this does not solve the issue.

Any help would be appreciated

So, whats the best way to deal with this problem? I know its a DNS issue, but I dont want to go editing stuff if im not sure about it. I do have all the IP/DNS set to auto since it is a laptop, but they still wont pull up if I go to different places.

Running Vista Home Premium. Need any other info, let me know.

A:Solved: DNS not working for certain websites

Try flushing the DNS cache with these commands:

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns

I cannot even load certain pages, in either IE or Firefox. I can download specific files from them it seems, if I get direct links. (I think anyways, I'm not entirely sure where I downloaded firefox in IE lol)

Some websites I can't access are:

http://www.mozilla.com/
http://www.gamefaqs.com/

and websites that appear with no formatting or anything, just text and links and images all scrolled down the page

I have no idea what's going on

Hi,
About a week ago the sound on my computer stopped working, I assumed it was the headphones, so last night I plugged in my speakers, and realized that the only time I hear sound is from a website that plays music. I have no Windows xp sounds, nor can I play music that I have on my computer, with any player that I have. I have an Emachine, and Windows XP. I have done the error checking, defragged, rebooted many times and still nothing.
Thank you for your help,
Kathy

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, it's my first time here. My laptop is relatively new and I've just realised that some websites arent working properly. Im trying to browse Tickets for concerts, theatre, football, family days out. Official Ticketmaster Site and although parts of the page load most of it won't and I just get a white space or nothing happens. Ive tried it in IE, Firefox and Chrome (all latest versions) and all have flash installed and javascript enabled. It's driving me crazy as im meant to be booking tickets that go on sale tomorrow morning and I cant get anywhere on the site.

A:Add to Favorites and Log out on websites not working

I'm not sure what all you have tried, so sorry if some of this is a repeat:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Internet Explorer 11 - Uninstall in Windows 7
Do that as many times as it takes to get back to IE8.

Then install...
...IE9 and its patches
...IE10 and its patches
...IE11 and its patches.

Hi everyone!

I have regularly been using these websites www.christianforumsite.com and www.talkjesus.com they are completely different websites but for some reason I keep getting the message This page cannot be displayed.

I can access these pages on any other computer. I have tried these websites in Firefox and Opera and they still wont load.

I have also tried disabling my anti virus (avast) and I have also used the program super anti spyware which has also cleaned out some files but I still cant get these pages to work.

Thanks for your help!

I have an HP Pavilion zv6000 and am running on Windows XP. Recently, some of my websites have stopped loading. In the bottom left hand corner it will just say "waiting on www._____.com", but will never load. Some websites include, yahoo, facebook, myspace, cbs, nfl, etc.

I have looked up my hosts file, but there is nothing inside besides "127.0.0.1 localhost". The file size is ony 1 KB.

Shouldn't I have numerous hosts files with IP addresses in the HOSTS file?

Please help.

HI there. 2 days ago, my PC started to present this problem: Internet is connected (cable), but most websites won't load. When trying to connect, it presents some kind of time expired error. When I ping, some websites will give good response and other wont and they will vary over time. What did I try to do:1) Use other programs. I've tried Chrome, IE and Firefox, all present similar problems.2) Reset cookies, etc3) Run antivirus, antimalware4) Reset the socket using cmd (I could only use power shell, since my pc wouldn't find resetlog.txt)5) Reinstall the mobo drivers6) Checked the cablesNothing worked! To worsen things up, I uploaded to windows 10 while having this problem, hoping that this would fix the problem, but it still the same. What should I do next? Reinstall windows? buy an ethernet card? Please help!

Greetings!

Problem started about a week ago when suddenly no Website natively pinned to the Desktop would open anymore. Even with newly created Tiles linking to a Website, whenever I hit them it'll only open an empty Internet Explorer Tab, not the Website that was linked to it.

Apps, like the Store, Calendar or any 3rd Party App work fine.
Oddly enough, Tiles linking to Websites created by OblyTile work fine - Hence the emphasis on natively.

Any ideas what the cause might be or a suggestion how to solve it?

Thanks in Advance =)

Hello!

As of lately, worldofwarcraft.com and wow-europe.com will not load. At all. I've tried switching from IE to Firefox, cleaning out my cache, history, and scanning for viruses. Nothing has worked so far. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why these sites suddenly don't work for me? (I've checked with friends and it works fine for them) and more importantly, how to get them back.

The error message I'm gettting is your usual "Unable to Connect".

Thanks for any help!

Hi all. I've just bought this HP Pavilion, i5, 8gb, 1.5tb, Windows 8.1. It was fine yesterday but today I'm getting the same problem that plagued me on my last laptop.

It is intermittent, but most of the time I cannot access websites. I'm using Chrome but it's the same story in Opera and IE.

Sometimes I get a partial load, like so:

Does anyone have any ideas? My phone works fine, as does my girlfriend's laptop (also a HP Pavilion)

Please, if you reply, try to explain things like I'm 5 years old

Thanks folks

My laptop is a compaq cq60-311SA with an integrated webcam.
The software installed when I purchased this laptop is working fine, and detects my webcam, and records, however, when I go to www.youtube.com and try to post a video response to anything, it does not work so well. It will load up the webcam, I can see myself in the webcam, but when I click record, it simply stays loading, no matter how long I leave it.
When I load up chatroulette.com, it simply doesn't even load flash player, and on facebuzz.com it gives me a message saying it can't detect a webcam.

Any ideas at all?
I have reinstalled the drivers off of compaqs website.

I am using Firefox 3, and some big websites arn't working. Things like Bebo, Youtube, Gaming sites work but the flash doesn't load. I updated my flash yesterday because of this but it didn't make a difference. What could be the problem? It seems as though the internet, and my entire computer atually, is getting slower by the day.

Why is it doing this and how do I fix it?

Hi,
Last week McAfee security centre wouldn't open, sidebar gadgets wouldn't work and couldn't get past certain points on many of our usual websites for all four users on our new computer (only a month old) All products are now working on my user account (administrator) but they still won't work on the other three user accounts.

We have Vista Home Premium (x32), use McAfee security centre version 8. The computer is a Hewlitt Packard model name a6150a/product #GS292AA-ABG

I've tried system restore, uninstalling/reinstalling McAfee virus scan but have had no luck.
It's very frustrating for the other members of my family not being able to access their favourite sites properly (eg lets you log in but then nothing) etc etc

I have no idea what else to try so would appreciate any advice!

I believe my problem started when I attempted to install a Firefox extension to capture streaming video (original link was reviews.cnet.com/4520-11327_7-6555399-1.html).

The installation aborted because it said my version of Firefox was not supported, however since then I am having a rash of problems such as:
1. When I click on a Google search result my browser (IE or FF) is directed to an ad website. Hitting the back button takes me to the desired site.
2. Bleepingcomputer.com and other websites return not found errors.
3. The command prompt will not work. When I click on it he screen "flashes" but the window never opens.
4. I cannot open regedit

I have run scans using my installed Trend Micro and also scanned with MalwareBytes andSuperAntiSpyware. None report any probelms.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

A:Searches on Google pointing to ad websites, cmd prompt not working

After reviewing some other posts I ran across a fix for this problem.
Malwarebytes was not being updated because the trojans on the computer were blocking the update process.

Following the process about installing MBAM on an un-infected computer, updating it and transfering "rules.ref" as outlined in the post at [malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6844] allowed me to update Malwarebytes, run its scan and fix the problem!

All the issues I noted appear to be corrected.
I can now run regedit, searches work correctly and sites are no longer blocked.

I would highly recommend anyone having similar problems try this tool.
It is excellent.

Hello Forum I am working on my mom's PC as she is having major problems I'm guessing the recommended solution is going to be a complete new installation when I describe the problems - She has had a few credit card numbers stolen used and her e-mail was compromised Windows Defender was disabled and I could not enable it but now that is fixed it is again disabled but this time by the Anti-Virus Program and not the malware Internet Explorer could not open websites as it always said that the Pop-up - Mouse/Keyboard randomly working stop on Websites Ads security settings were blocking the website Because of these errors I removed a lot of malware with ADWCleaner Emsisoft and Malwarebytes I'm not convinced I got it all though The remaining problems are that the PC is extremely slow the mouse and keyboard randomly stop working multiple wired devices tested and random Ads pop up on websites from AdChoice and WebAds that should have no ads The speed of the PC is not of interest to me in this post I can get to that by cleaning up the startup applications etc But I am guessing it will speed up once all malware is removed Now the PC info Windows Home Premium bit GFI Software Vipre Anti-Virus I hope that's enough info to get us started on a solution Thanks in advance Dave

Hi All,

As I am sure you can tell I couldnt think of a concise title for the problem. The symptoms are that if i try to access my hotmail, after logging in the first page never loads. I tried to access the system restore but cannot (it did provide an error but I am not at the machine now - i will post the exact details later) access the page due to a JavaScript error. This occures when I try to access the Users part of the control pannel as well. The problem seems to affect any https sites. I have installed spybot and adaware and have tried running a virus scan but to no avail. Any other ideas or is this a rebuild?

A:Cannot access certain websites and parts of the control panel not working

Not necessarily a rebuild job. You could be right in suspecting virus activity, though.

To assist in your problem, we need you to download HijackThis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe). Install the program (it will save to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis), run it, and select 'Scan'. Do not fix anything yet, just select 'Save log', and copy the contents of the log to your next post. A security expert will be along to check the log. Please be patient.
If, after 48 hours, you have not received a response, click on the 'Report' button at the bottom of your post, and ask politely to have the post moved to the Malware Removal forum.

I have a weird problem with surfing the internet on my server (OS: XP Pro).

It started when I installed Citrix's ICA client software. Internet explorer and MSN can no-longer connect to the internet. The odd thing is that other computers that connect to the internet through this machine can connect just fine. Furthermore some programs, such as P2P filesharing programs and the ICA client itself work okay on the server.

I am able to access websites using IE if I type in the IP address, but not the URL. I thought at first that maybe the software I installed had messed up my DNS settings, but they seem to be the same as ever (Set to auto-detect).

I had thought of uninstalling the Citrix ICA client software but a) I need to use it and b) Citrix have neglected to include an uninstaller with their software

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Monkey99

Go here to fix the ActiveX problem
(Watch for the Information Bar drop down message under the address bar)

Search Problem
Open Explorer and go to the Windows\Inf folder.
Locate the srchasst.inf file. Right click it and select Install.
You'll need your XP CD or the files from the I386 folder.

NOTE
The Windows\Inf folder is a hidden folder. You can adjust your Explorer Folder Options (View tab) to Show hidden files and folders.

You can also click Start, Run and enter %SystemRoot%\Inf to open directly to the Inf folder.

Hmm, w/o more info, an inability to access common sites like "eBay" suggests your "Network Adapter" (not hardware, but a MS Networking driver) is corrupted. A number of things can cause this, but "AdWare" is the most common culprit. The problem has always been far too common with XP (and earlier). Much less of a problem since Vista/W7 made changes to those essential services far more unlikely.

If you can, I suggest you try connecting another PC to the same internet connection and see what you get. Or, if you're computer savvy enough, I recommend downloading a free copy of Ubuntu Linux and connecting to the Internet with the "Live CD" (a way to test the OS w/o installing it.) Both methods will rule out an issue with your ISP.

I use Google Chrome, but this happens when I'm on Internet Explorer also. When I arrive on certain web pages, I lose control of the mouse and this error message pops into the address bar:

For example if I search urban outfitters is anti gay:

res://C:\Windows\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm pops up into the address bar, Googles it and doesn't allow me on the site.

I've ran multiple anti-virus scans but none have detected anything.

Okay, so I am having a lot of trouble getting the internet working on my laptop. Every website I go to says 403 Forbidden Error. I can't figure out why this is happening. It happens when I connect to the internet wirelessly and when it is hooked up directly to the wall.

It seemed to happen around the time when my ISP was sold to another company and they went through a transition period, but this would just be a coincidence. Not sure.

It is also happening at work, which is not using the same ISP, so I am quite confused. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
Jordan

A:All Websites = 403 Forbidden Error

Not 100% sure and I'm not a professional, but I'd suggest trying this utility:

http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

It has saved me on more than one occasion. Also, I would ask if you have done anything to edit your HOST file. I doubt it especially since most people don't mess with it and your issue is happening in more than one location that's not with the same ISP company. The HOST file blocks many sites, which isn't a bad thing if you know what you are doing, but can be highly detrimental to those who don't understand what they are dealing with.

A:HELP!! i get this error when i open websites

Sounds like a problems with MSN's systems if the problems only seems to be happening with them. I would try contacting MSN support and see what they have to say they would know the best about what might be causing your problem and how to fix it.

Running IE on my laptop It's a corporate image so some of the security settings are locked down When I go to two of our client websites I encounter an untrusted cert error I'll install the cert but @ error Installed websites certs still but I still encounter that same error when I later return to that site Also the error and red URL never go away If I go to Internet Options Content tab Certificate button and go to the Other People tab I can see the certs for the two sites They have expiration dates in the year so they are not expired A similar customer site doesn't have the problem As part of the corporate lockdown on the Security tab the Custom settings buttons are disabled A co-worker using IE has a similar problem She will install the certs and not Installed certs but still error @ websites get the error as long as that browser is up But if she kills the browser and starts a new one then she gets the error and has to re-install the certs She has a corporate image as well Another co-worker thinks that there is a setting that tells IE to save loaded Installed certs but still error @ websites certs after exiting If it isn't setting then you have to reload them each time Any ideas

HI;
When i am trying to open Symantec Tech support site i am getting error message that "Internet explore has encountered some problem.Needs to close". And in the error signature Mode name is = oleaut32.dll.

I am using IE7 with Win XP MCE.

Please help me in solving this problem.

Thanks,
Soumit.

A:Getting oleaut32.dll error while opening some websites in IE7

This may be caused by an ActiveX element that uses that file.

You should be able to find this file on the internet, use Google.com to find it.
Download it, and copy it to C:\windows\system32\ . If Windows is installed on another disk, change the "C:" part to something else (you get the idea).

Looking for help.

I have a good network connection, but I am currently unable to browse the internet due to an Error 12029 (HTTP connectivity error). I can connect via HTTPS but the diagnostic tool states

"HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to www.microsoft.com. A connection with the server could not be established"

I have recently uninstalled Norton Antivirus and am only using Microsoft XP firewall.

Any advice?

Thanks

First of all I thought I was computer literate.........
I use Microsoft Internet Explorer for the internet. I have no trouble connecting to the internet but when I do connect and am typing in an email adress (for example ebay.com) it will direct me to that address and after a few seconds of loading will redirect me to http://view.atdmt.com/AVE/iview/yhxxxanc0420000087ave/direct;wi.300;hi.250/01?1215657987822204

and then gives me this message:

Sorry we couldn't find http://view.atdmt.com/AVE/iview/yhxxxanc0420000087ave/direct%3Bwi.300%3Bhi.250/01%3F1215657987822204. Here are some related websites

Is this some kind of Spyware? Other similar questions from posts on your site seem to imply it is but if so, why didn't my antivirus/spyware protection catch it and how do I get rid of it. It does this over and over when trying to access all different kinds of sites and it is driving me mad!

One of our users has IE6 and is having a problem where some websites are retaining the saving of passwords, while others prompt him. He would like to have it save all his passwords, but unfortunately we cannot reset any of his security settings.

Anyone happen to know how we can do this without resetting his security settings?

A:IE6 error with retaining password/cache/cookies for certain websites

I believe the enable saved passwords option is in the content tab, auto complete options. Unless this has been disabled by your IT department.

Hello and Welcome to Bleeping Computer!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the Watch Topic Button, select Immediate Notification, and click on Proceed. This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster. NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of hartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer. NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. To open notepad, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Please remember to copy the entire post so you do not miss any instructions.Run Combofix:You may be asked to install or update the Recovery Console (Win XP Only) if this happens please allow it to do so (you will need to be connected to the internet for this)Before you run Combofix I will need you to turn off any security software you have running, If you do not know how to do this you can find out >here< or >here<Combofix may need to reboot your computer more than once to do its job this is normal. You can download Combofix from one of these links.Link 1Link 2Link 31. Close any open browsers or any other programs that are open.2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts. When finished, it will produce a report for you. Note 1: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stallNote 2: If you recieve an error "Illegal operation attempted on a registery key that has been marked for deletion." Please restart the computer"information and logs"In your next post I need the following
Log from Combofixlet me know of any problems you may have had

I don't know what happened but some websites are usable but some entirely unusable.
For example I can't go to ebay.com w/out ads on the right side & bottom and then I'm transferred to another website that's unrelated.
Then I'll get a womens voice asking for me to call a # to give $ to "repair" the issue.
Some sites are fine.  I use this computer ONLY for simple browsing of mainstream sites & e-mail.
Nothing odd.  Even Bleeping Computer has ads on the right side.
Can anyone offer some suggestions on how to repair & prevent from happening in the future?
Thank you from Los Angeles!

A:Help! Websites Showing Overlay Ads & Being Forwarded to Other Websites! WIN7!

Sometime just clearing the browser cache will get rid of the criminal's ad with phone #. Sometime it is adware
and/ or malware involved. Use the programs below to find and remove the cause(s).

Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the
Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars....especially Google.
After install, open CCleaner and run by clicking on the Run Cleaner button in the bottom right corner.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here
Double-click mbam-setup-2.X.X.XXXX.exe to install the application (X's are the current version number).
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
Once MBAM opens, when it says Your databases are out of date, click the Fix Now button.
Click the Settings tab at the top, and then in the left column, select Detections and Protections, and if not already checked place a checkmark in the selection box for Scan for rootkits.
Click the Scan tab at the top of the program window, select Threat Scan and click the Scan Now button.
If you receive a message that updates are available, click the Update Now button (the update will be downloaded, installed, and the scan will start).
When MBAM is finished scanning it will display a screen that displays any malware that it has detected.
Click the Remove Selected button.
MBAM will now delete all of the files and registry keys and add them to the programs quarantine. When removing the files, MBAM may require a reboot in order to remove some of them. If it displays a message stating that it needs to reboot, please allow it to do so.
While still on the Scan tab, click the link for View detailed log, and in the window that opens click the Export button, select Text file (*.txt), and save the log to your Desktop.
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can also be viewed by clicking the History tab and then selecting Application Logs.
POST THE LOG FOR  REVIEW.

Download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on Scan button.
When the scan has finished click on Clean button.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.
download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
The tool will open and start scanning your system.
Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message

Hold down Control and click on this link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
Click the button.
For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
Click on esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
Double click on the icon on your desktop.
Check "YES, I accept the Terms of Use."
Click the Start button.
Accept any security warnings from your browser.
Under scan settings, check "Scan Archives" and "Remove found threats"
ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
When the scan completes, click List Threats
Click Export, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
Click the Back button.

Sorry for the waitPlease open your hosts file and check there are no blocked entries. Then can you download malwarebytes and the updates file so you can do the whole process offline (This is from one computer onto a cd or pen drive etc and then transfer it across). Then follow the instructions below but ignore the downloading and updating bit (when you get to the update bit please double click the updates file to apply the updates check the bottom of the post for the updates file link). Please download MalwareBytes Anti-Malware to your desktop.Ensure that your computer is connected to the internet and your software firewall is disabled until instructed to re-enable it.Double click on the mbam-setup.exe to begin the installation process. When the installation begins, please do not change any of the settings and follow the prompts. Please make sure that when you finish the installation, these options remain checked; *Update MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware *Launch MalwareBytes' Anti-MalwareYou may now click finish...When MBAM launches, you will be prompted to update before running a scan. If an update is found, MBAM will automatically download and apply the updates and you can then click 'OK' button to close the box and continue. You may now re-enable your firewallPlease ensure that while you are on the scanner tab the 'Perform Quick Scan' option is selected, then click the 'Scan' button. If you are asked which drives to scan, please leave all of them ticked, and click 'Start Scan'.The scan will now begin and you will see ?Scan in progress? at the top; It may take a while to complete so please be patient. When the scan completes, you will see ?The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found?Click the 'OK' button to close the box and continue with the removal process.Back on the main scanner screen, click 'Show Results' to see a list of any found Malware.Ensure that all items are checked and then click the 'Remove Selected' button. When the removal process is complete, a log will open in notepad; this log will be automatically saved and you can view it in the logs section of the program.Copy and paste the contents of the log file that is open into your next reply and exit MBAM.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. Regardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the Malware. MBAM may make changes to your registry as part of its disinfection routine. If you're using other security programs that detect registry changes, they may alert you after scanning with MBAM. Please permit the program to allow the changes. The updates file can be downloaded from http://www.gt500.org/malwarebytes/mbam-rules.exe

I've been having a strange issue lately and i'm not too sure where it has come from Everytime my computer starts up my desktop icons and taskbar doesn't work I have to hit ctrl alt del and then hit cancel in order to "rundll32 like websites launching working" stopped youtube has Upon unfreeze them "rundll32 has stopped working" Upon launching websites like youtube Everytime i try to launch "rundll32 has stopped working" Upon launching websites like youtube a website like youtube or any site that has media players i get a quot rundll has stopped working quot at the website's launch Then when i try to open the videos on the websites the quot Play quot icon is off to the side where it normally isnt and i cannot play the videos Basically my browers have been super glitchy after this An example is when using google chrome whenever i hit the quot previous page quot button it opens another tab instead and when i click on that tab it closes it Anytime I try to click another tab it just closes it This also has a strange effect on my VLC player none of the buttons work i have to right click and use the buttons that way I've never seen anything like it before

A:"rundll32 has stopped working" Upon launching websites like youtube

Hello ripabbott and welcome to Seven Forums.

The first thing I'd do is run a full scan with your antivirus/antispyware of choice. Then I'd follow up with a couple of free on-demand scanners that have a good track record of finding things that others miss. One is Malwarebytes and the other is HitmanPro.

It's also possible that you might have some damaged or corrupt system files. Try running a System File Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two, this tutorial.) If any problems are found, run the scan three times rebooting in between each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Please post back if this helped or not.

For some odd reason, these websites will not load yet it still says it is connected. Also, I believe there is no problem with my Internet provider because I am currently typig this from my iPod Touch which is connected to the wireless router. I need help soon. Please and thank you.
