Preferred Solution: Virus disrupting my internet browsing

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I think my PC has cotnracted a weird Malware or Virus that disrupts my Browser or other programs that use the internet. When the disruption happens it states that ''Adress cannot be found'' in the net browser. Then I have to restart the Browser for it to start working again.

I'm currently running on Windows XP Home Edition.

My F-secure didn't find anything in a full system scan.
My Ad-Aware is still running and it has founf 2 targets, but it's taking forever to finish so cant report on that yet.

Would anyone know how to fix this?

I appear to have been infected by a malware that has disabled my anti-virus program. I have noticed the infection in my email programs as my machine keeps trying to send emails on its own using an email address that is one of mine but not used by me. Now my Kaspersky anti-virus program is corrupted. The black list is corrupted; the update process will not function and the rollbacks to previous databases are corrupted. I followed the directions with the only deviation being that i had to use a different rootkit scan program (AVAST) because your link to GMER would not run in Win7 64bit. In any event, AVAST found no rootkit issues and i attached the log nonetheless.

Hello. I am a complete newbie to server administration. At my current job, I have been tasked with setting up a deployment server. The server is a Windows 2008 server and is not connected to the Internet. The server is a domain controller on its own domain (different from the main domain my job uses). How would I connect this server to the Internet without disrupting other users on the network? By disrupting, I mean connecting to my server instead of the main server for DNS and DHCP. The server has Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, DHCP, and WDS roles set-up.

internet explorer7 is apparently causing all kinds of problems on my laptop. its disrupting roxio, which i expensively updated because i thought that might solve the problem, it didn't. its been interfering with HP updater which thinks it can't connect to the internet. i'm worried i might be missing some important updates. i have mozilla and was advised to get rid of IE all together which i would have been fine with, but i'm on viste and its too well intergrated, its impossible to remove, and every other time i use the computer i find somthing else that its interfering with. it even interferes with window movie maker and thats part of the same system... isn't it?.

We have a small office environment, about 8 wired connected PC, 2 IP printer and 2 modem/router (wireless).

Most of the time, guests and other staff access our internet through Wifi. Few days back, i have notice the ON and OFF activity of our modem (satellite) causing to disrupt our communications. This activity been observed for the last couple of days. Later on, I found the culprit, some tech savy individual are messing around with our modem, accessing then rebooting the equipment.

Is there any ways to hide or prevent clients to access to our modem? The satellite modem is DHCP (172.xx.xx.xx) enabled and unconfigurable.

My present setup MODEM>> SWITCH>> ROUTER>> PC.

I'm really not that good in terms of advance networking practice. Hope somebody will lend a hand.

Thanks!

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a S3 Virge DX vid card in a PCI slot.
When i try to put any other PCI card into one of the remaining PCI slots (I've tried a NIC card and a modem)the computer starts up and runs but the screen goes black. So I can't even see a screen to go somewhere to make a change. I take the other PCI card out turn the computer on and the screen comes back up and the computer is the way it was. I have three extra PCI slots that I would like to use, if anyone knows how to get around this conflict that would be great.
Please help!

A:PCI video card disrupting all other PCI cards

Have you tried different slot combinations and not using the original slot that the VID card was in?? Have you tried a different VID card?
Checked power supply? May be going bad and simply cannot handle the load...

Basically, without spare parts and no sophisticated test equipment you will be redefining the term Plug and Play...and even then you may not resolve because a bad slot, bad RAM, bad processor, bad power supply, bad card...(each can cause something like this)...Start eliminating and keep us posted...BOL

An icon that resembles a Roman column appears as I try to write my e-mails. The symbol is seen at the format under paragraph but I can't rid of it. It is anyoning as it writes periods in between words and disrupts normal vision of the e-mail. It appears next the normal prompt as one writes.

Thanks you

Hi guys,

I built a small database in Access which is now on our server with a number of people using it.

How do I, working with a copy, upload my changes to the active database?

So if I just change a form for instance?

Many thanks....

A:Working on Access 2010 database without disrupting others

Well you will probably need the users to exit the database or do it when they have all gone home or before they start.
Then you upload your change(s) and then replace the item in question, you can if you want delete the original item first before uploading if you want.
It is possible to use VBA to "force" the users out of the database.

A:suspected malware- internet browsing almost impossible although connected to the internet

Using more than one anti-virus program is not advisable. The primary concern with doing so is due to conflicts that can arise when they are running in real-time mode simultaneously and issues with Windows resource management. Even when one of them is disabled for use as a stand-alone scanner, it can affect the other. Anti-virus software components insert themselves into the operating systems core and using more than one can cause instability, crash your computer, slow performance and waste system resources. When actively running in the background while connected to the Internet, they both may try to update their definition databases at the same time. As the programs compete for resources required to download the necessary files this often can result in sluggish system performance or unresponsive behavior. Each anti-virus may interpret the activity of the other as malicious behavior and there is a greater chance of them alerting you to a "False Positive". If one finds a virus or a suspicious file and then the other also finds the same, both programs will be competing over exclusive rights on dealing with that virus or suspicious file. Each anti-virus may attempt to remove the offending file and quarantine it at the same time resulting in a resource management issue as to which program gets permission to act first. If one anit-virus finds and quarantines the file before the other one does, then you encounter the problem of both wanting to scan each other's zipped or archived files and each reporting the other's quarantined contents. This can lead to a repetitive cycle of endless alerts that continually warn you that a virus has been found when that is not the case. Anti-virus scanners use virus definitions to check for malware and these can include a fragment of the virus code which may be recognized by other anti-virus programs as the virus itself. Because of this, most anti-virus programs encrypt their definitions so that they do not trigger a false alarm when scanned by other security programs. Other vendors do not encrypt their definitions and they can trigger false alarms when detected by the resident anti-virus. Further, dual installation is not always possible because most of the newer anti-virus programs will detect the presence of others and may insist they be removed prior to download and installation of another. Nonetheless, to avoid these problems, use only one anti-virus solution. Deciding which one to remove is your choice. Be aware that you may lose your subscription to that anti-virus program's virus definitions once you uninstall that software. Anti-virus vendors recommend that you install and run only one anti-virus program at a timeSymantec's statement.Avast's statement.AVG's statement.Dell Support statement.Try resetting Internet Explorer. I'd be more concerned about the other folks out there, not necessarily your nephew. My brother who is a real security whiz told me never to get wireless. He said that while it is convenient for the user, it makes it really easy for the "big bad wolves." There are ways of making wireless connections more secure, but I am unfamiliar with them. Here are links to some articles that discuss wireless security:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_securityDiscusses some of the security problems with wirelesshttp://techdir.rutgers.edu/wireless.htmlThis is an article from Rutgers University that discusses what can happen with an unsecure wireless hook-up and some means to secure it. anything is possible! there are programmes out there just produced to crack all wireless connections, just google and you will see, however it is very hard to do if the wireless is security coded, still possible, main problem is people who use wireless laptops in their house not thinking that their signal may be bouncing down the street so do not set up security

I have a proper internet connection, but suddenly, all my internet browsers will fail to load any webpage.

Whenever I click on any link or type into the search bar, nothing happens.

This occurs for all browsers. ( Firefox, Chrome, IE )

I tried the ping command using cmd, it worked. That adds on to the mystery..

I just got a brand new PC with Windows XP installed on it and nothing else. I have installed DirectX 9.0c (I think, it took a fraction of a second to do on a 750k connection, is that normal?) and when I browse, I get problems. When scrolling down, it is very laggy, it does not move in a fluid movement and a line makes it's way down the screen as it updates what is being shown, can anyone tell me why this is and how to fix it please?

A:Browsing the internet

750k is not as fast as you'd think. I don't think the DirectX install has anything to do with your slow loading. What kind of connection do you have? Was it fast before installing the DirectX? What website are you trying to view? Does this lag happen on all websites?

Hi I am back again with the same problem I had with signing onto the internet and finding my chosen search engine Yahoo over written with a res: thingy.

I don't have time right now to do what I am supposed to .....use Hijack this and post here but I plan to within the next day or two as my home computer is the one with this problem...it is much worse this time.

In the meantime I was wondering if someone could tell me if there is a program that will prevent this....I have McAfee on my laptop and was wondering if I should get it for my Dell at home?

Hi,

The only way you can get a work around is to download another browser. Until it's fixed, it stays with you. If you can get a HJT log posted up sooner rather than later, then we can get you sorted out.

Cheers

You could try disabling the "SSV HelperClass" Add-On by going to Tools-> Manage Add-Ons, if that doesn't help try this:Speeding Up Internet Explorer 8 | WindowsFixUp HTH.

Please...In you're esteemed opinions which is the best internet browsing history eraser?

A:Internet browsing

Bump
I use a little program called Spider. http://www.webattack.com/Freeware/security/fwcookie.shtml

It has some limitations as do most. Short of using DOS to target files for deletion, which can be dangerous if you are not careful, Spider does a good job. Run Spider from the default desktop and allow it to do its job via restarting when asked, then rerun Spider to see if it missed something.

Note: Delete you Temp internet files, History and cookies manually before running Spider.

My Two Cents!

I'm having a problem when browsing the Internet. I just reformatted my Computer, I'm on the Internet, no Security Software, I can browse the Internet just fine, but when I try to download a file, it times out. I've tried everything from reinstalling the operating system to using another web browser, it still won't let me download anything. I just now installed Norton 360 and did a complete sweet of my computer and it's Virus/Malware free, even the Power Eraser showed no signs of deeply embedded issues. Tried updating the Drivers on the computer too... Before I reformatted it was working fine. Why's it not letting me download anything anymore?

I've tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox, this isn't a web browser issue.

A:Im having a problem when browsing the Internet

Try downloading after rebooting and pressing F8 numerous times--immediately, and choose Safe Mode With Networking.

Try to download while in Safe Mode. Can you download then?

Hi, I just bought a Hp Pavilion a6660t PC with out a wireless adapter, so I bought a D-link DWA-556, installed it flawlessly, connected to my home network with a linksys WRT54G. I have a 3 laptops that work perfectly with the network but my Hp is causing me to have no browsing capabilities. I emailed support and they told me the uninstall the adatper then switch the port and reinstall. I did with out any luck. Then they mentioned something about a static connection. I don't know about static connections and I do NOT have a firewall or antivirus connected. Help!

Started happening a week ago had a single BSOD and thought nothing of it because I had just cleaned my heatsink and had possibly nudged something. I reseated my gpu and ram and the BSOD didn't come back right away. Then I started getting them more frequently. Started with several SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. At this point I did a scan with MalwareBytes and did a memcheck86+ and 2 viruses found and quarantined , and no errors after 8 passes with memcheck. I also uninstalled video drivers and reinstalled them. The BSOD went away for a few days. Then I got another SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, one IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and one CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT.

A:Problem when browsing Internet

Hey abbasi. If he can get to the same web pages using your connection, the problem is not his pc's OS or the web site. If he can get to other web sites with no problem,I say the problem is with his ISP putting a block on his line, or maybe a problem with his modem or modem/router if that's what he has. Connect a laptop to both lines and see if you can get through to narrow it down Call the ISP.

Have gone through Device Manager & updated all drivers (found no new updates) and nothing marked as incompatible/needing updates in Windows 7 Upgrade Adviser.

Recently there was an internet shortage in my town. The internet got fixed, and my computer has full connection with the internet (DSL) but it's unable to browse the web. I am very certain it's due to problems contacting the DNS server. It's been two days now, I've tried many many things and haven't gotten it to work. Other computers will work on the internet connection but not this one.

Please help!

Hello RayLwek I would like to welcome you to the Malware Removal section of the forum.Around here they call me Gringo and I will be glad to help you with your malware problems.Very Important --> Please read this post completely, I have spent my time to put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier, faster and smoother for both of us!Please do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the "Follow This Topic" Button, make sure that the "Receive notification" box is checked and that it is set to "Instantly" - This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster.NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of heartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer.NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. To open notepad, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Please remember to copy the entire post so you do not miss any instructions. These are the programs I would like you to run next, if you have any problems with one of these just skip it and move on to the next one.-AdwCleaner-Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.Close all open programs and internet browsers.Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Click on Delete.Confirm each time with Ok.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer. You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.-Junkware-Removal-Tool-Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message. When they are complete let me have the two reports and let me know how things are running.Gringo

Hello. I'm on my girlfriend's laptop and she is having a problem where the computer will give a BSOD while browsing the internet. She has told me that it never happens when she isn't connected to the internet. It often happens while streaming videos on Youtube or Netflix but I'm not sure if that is the cause, because I actually got a BSOD while writing my post out just now.

I had her install SlimDrivers and she updated about 10-20 drivers. She says the BSOD's occur less often but they still happen enough that they are a major pain. The laptop isn't overheating, and I've tried everything I could think of.

EDIT: When it happened just now, It had the error code x0000003B. Don't know if that is always the error or just this time.

I am a newbie. On our desktop, connected to Internet by cable modem. We started noticing Firefox and IE (both current versions) were taking long periods of time to connect to sites and would occassionally lock up. Now, when browsing we get the blue screen:

IRQL_NOT-LESS_OR_EQUAL

(Top OX00000000A (0X00000000, OX0000001B, 0X00000000, 0X8285FC94)

I have run virus and malware checks with no results.

I have a wireless router attached and the network seems to be working an wireless laptop accessing web with no problems.

I ran a network diagnostic on the desktop with no problems found.

I would really appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you.

Hi guys I'm running Windows Microsoft XP home edition with SP So the issue that I am having developed about a week ago I seem to have been tricked into downloading a fake copy of Skype which had trojans and or malware in it and I just want to make sure my Random while the internet. pop-ups browsing computer is clean The link provided when I googled Skype looked completely legit but anyways So when my comodo firewall detected the trojan virus in the fake program I immediately blocked the threat and shut down into safe mode where I then ran Mbam SuperAntiSpyware and Avira antivirus scan Mbam and Avira did not detect anything but SuperAntiSpyware detected Trojan Agent Gen-MulDrop and Heur Agent Gen-Whitebox So feeling somewhat relieved I returned my normal routine but something still isn't right though because I'm getting random pop-ups while using Firefox saying I need to update my Java and or adobe flash player which I'm pretty sure both are updated Updated or not I know I shouldn't be recieving these notifications on Random pop-ups while browsing the internet. a whole new page that pops up when I'm not requesting clicking any such update One other bit of information I can give is that the file names of DefineEXT and HotShot were involved in the fake Skype software I downloaded This is my second time here so I know I'm in good hands lol you guys rock at this stuff that's for sure Thanks in advance -Sincerely Rob

Hi there good people, can you help me,my kids use my laptop quite a lot and every time they finish delete their browsing history, if they have nothing to hide why do it,i get no sense when i ask them. Is there anyway to retrieve the browsing history once it has been deleted, any help would be appreciated,
I'm using an Acer with windows vista basic.
My regards,
LW.

A:internet browsing history.

Kid's get all flustered with privacy issues. They feel that they deserve privacy - but they don't respect the parents privacy.

Do you search their rooms?
Do you monitor their phone calls?
Do you eavesdrop on them when they're with their friends?

If not, then I'd have to ask "Why do it when they're online?"

If you still want to do it, it's rather simple:
- Put a password on the system that only you know.
- Tell them that deleting the browser history will result in the loss of computer privileges
- Enforce that rule.

My wife and I had a long discussion about this - and we decided that we didn't want to spy on them. But, to protect them, we used "Net Nanny" type software (I setup custom settings using We-Blocker). They were still able to get around some of the restrictions - but that was minor compared to what they were trying to do before we put the restrictions on.

As they grew older we loosened the restrictions - and now the only restriction is....If my network is attacked/abused (P2P), they are cut off without notice. And that's only happened twice in the last couple of years.

then after installation i connected the lan cable to the to the pc. it activated windows but it wouldnt browse the interent using explorer.. what am i missing?
i installed lan, audio, video, and motherboard drivers. please help

A:no internet browsing in explorer

Hi, first right click my computer then click on properties, now click on the hardware tap and hit the device manager with you mouse. Now go to the network adapters, expand it by clicking the plus sign, now do you see any adapters here installed in your system. Also look for an x or ! marks it could means that they are disabled.

If you don't see anything then it means it is not installed or if it is better to go for an upto date one from the website.
Now click start then run and type cmd
type ping google.com
any result?
type ping 127.0.0.1
this should give result because it is your local host and it will tell us if network card is working and drver installed.

Also go to security center make sure that your firewall is off temporarily. If you have a router please reset it and try your connection again. I did notice that on another post I adviced a user to install or update their service pack and that seemed to fix the issue. Maybe you want to give that a go because the latest service pack will have many drivers that will instantly recognise your on the system.

Also, if your ISP sent you a cd you will need to install that, go to you internet options within the browser, then connections, the lan setting, make sure auto detect settings are set and that no proxy is enabled.

Moving around some sites has suddenly become SO slow (55 to 75 seconds for each mouse click to register). It seemed to coincide with my bank site changing to new software, but applies not only to their website and my paying bills, but to my service provider site where I dial up to collect my e-mail. Each click on these sites takes from 55 to 75 seconds to register - FRUSTRATING. I have just had my computer store service my computer and neither they nor the bank site can figure it out. Any ideas??

A:Slow Internet Browsing

When you say the store "serviced", did they check for viruses, malware, etc.? Try running disc cleanup from your accessories menu. It's a slow process on XP (sometimes an hour if you don't do it regularly). Delete offline content and cookies in IE. Run IE repair tool (Control Panel>Add-Delete Programs>IE Delete> of the 3 options choose repair and follow directions). Back to the store. Could they have changed something? Ask them!

I've got both IE and Firefox installed and system freezes at some point of browsing through the web pages. Thought it could be something to do with my GPU so I updated to latest drivers but it didn't solve the problem. Any ideas? It's really annoying and I would like to continue using Win 7 for some time.

Thanks in advance.

When I use IE9 to browse the internet it sometimes is very slow. I have run an internet speed test program (speedtest.comcast.com) which hangs when testing IE9. I then started Chrome and the internet browsing was fast. I ran the speed test program and the speed was what I expected. I switched between IE9 and Chrome to access certain web pages and perform the speed test and in EVERY case browsing with IE9 was unbelievable slow while Chrome was very fast. I cleared the browser history file, check the register for errors. Even as I write this problem on Chrome the IE9 is still trying to access this forum.

I think may be the temporary files of these browser or the file lossing is the problem. You can use CCleaner to clean temporary files or reinstall these browser

Uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Also, update your realtek network driver form Realtek
Take the Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program dated 2013/11/26.

I fixed my computer by erasing Antivirus, I guess something was blocking me from browsing the internet, so that did it for me. Just go to add or remove programs and erase AntiVirus. Also Restore the defualt firewall

I all of a sudden have slow internet browsing after getting messages for java updates. I disabled the Java add on so I don't get the message anymore but the browsing using either IE or Google is slow. I deleted temporary internet files and cookies and checked with my ISP. I ran malwarebytes scan and deleted all virus. It's still slow. Any other suggestions?

Your network driver is causing the issue.

How can i more secure my net banking in my computer. I heard that there are many viruses which copies all your observation so how can i protect from them.

A:Internet Banking Browsing

The most secure would be to use a Read-Only OS (Live Distro ) like booting a computer up with Knoppix Linux and this way the computer is always booted clean, is Linux one of the most secure OS's out there, and when you reboot no changes are saved and the next boot is like clean from factory. Pros= You can use this on same computer that otherwise would boot Windows etc... Cons = No real cons other than there is no saving of any data locally after shutdown or reboot.Next most secure method is to physically install Linux to a computer that is to be used for this and keep it patched. 99% of the attack methods out there are geared towards Microsoft Windows OS to carry out an exploit or infection. Pros= Its Linux one of the most secure os's out there and you can save data to this system for websites visited to etc  Cons = Unless a dual boot system you would need a separate computer one for Windows and other for Linux unless you go with removable drives to have boot choice before power up with removable HDD bay installed.Last method least most secure from these listed but Microsoft Windows based for anyone who doesnt want to deal with Linux, have a computer only used for banking and nothing else. If turned on only when banking and not used for social network sites, e-mail etc you limit the means by which a Windows OS can be infected. By the way on this system you would also have an up to date good antivirus and possibly even an internet security suite running for additional protection beyond that of just the built in firewall. (* This could be accomplished on a single computer for both super secure and not so secure computing by installing a removable hard drive bay and depending on which drive you boot and run the system on, you are either super secure and careful or running on the drive that is for everything else. ) Pros = You dont have to work with Linux if you dont want to. Cons = Your still using Windows and so your putting yourself at a greater risk than that of Linux OS use and so your running a very small risk of problems, but this risk is greater than that of running a Linux OS IMO.I have used all 3 methods of computing above to avoid problems. My most favorite is a Live Linux distro. And even better than Knoppix but not as full of bundled software I found out the the most recent Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon 32-bit DVD boots to a Live Linux Mint 17.1 environment and the Firefox browser has full Adobe Flash support so it works for all sites I have tested it with from banking to youtube and when you shutdown or reboot the computer, any chance of a malware attack is wiped clean for that 1% that might be out there that might target Linux OS exploits which are very few. Also Read-Only Live Linux Distro's are very useful when you need to navigate through a web site out there that is high risk for infection because scripts that are targeting Windows OS users wont function because there is a mismatch between the exploit that is attempted to infect etc and the OS your running. So for the shady part of the web a Live OS is a very well protected method of navigation through it if you ever needed to navigate through this dark alley of the internet where risk of being attacked or infected is very high with an OS other than Linux.

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Memory corruption probably caused by a driver. please run these two tests

1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program.

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

2-Driver verifier

Quote:
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

I have a problem surfing the web with my computer, while running programmes is fine. When my computer reaches 0% CPU it freezes and it cannot perform anything.
The pages stall or there's just white page on the screen, I can only surf the web normally when my computer reaches 45% CPU or higher. Until then browsing is useless.

Hi Everyone,

I am having issues with my PC, specifically it BSOD after browsing the Internet for a while (but, not always).

This unit is a free hand-me-down from someone who did not give me the disks or drivers. It is a Windows 7 x64, full retail install, on a 2 year old built PC. I am not sure what motherboard is installed but, it has a dual AMD Athlon II X2 240 proc, 2Gb of RAM, and Radion X1650 video card.

I have attached the BSOD files run off the comp.

Please let me know if you have any insight into how I can remedy the issues I am experiencing. Thank you!

Matt

When was the last time that you deleted your MRU's? If you have a build up of these it can affect your browsing speed. Check out this discussion http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-2151657.php

For you speed test are you using something like this?

Speakeasy - Speed Test
Are you on your friends home network?
I'm no expert on these things. These are things that come to mind when I read your post. 4 mb should be fairly quick. Have you tried it without the router. These are just some thoughts of mine until the smart people on this site wake up and have their coffee.

Hello! My name is Sam and I will be helping you. In order to see what's going on with your computer I will ask for you to post various logs from the tools that we will use to resolve your issue. Please also share with me any information about how your computer is reacting and behaving each step of the way as we work through this process. We need to create an OTListIt2 ReportPlease download OTListIt2 from hereSave it to your desktop.Double click on the icon on your desktop.Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.Push the "Run Scan" button. The scan should take just a few minutes.Copy the log that opens up and paste it back here in your next reply.=============The next log will show us any hidden files that are present.Download GMER from here:Unzip it to the desktop.Open the program and click on the Rootkit tab.Make sure all the boxes on the right of the screen are checked, EXCEPT for ?Show All?.Click on Scan. When the scan has run click Copy and paste the results (if any) into this thread.

Several problems

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads

when you're done you can use this Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) in its place. MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor

Old drivers needing updating

Code:
MarvinBus64.sys 9/23/2005 05:17:03 PM fffff880`04644000 0x00044000 0x433470cf fffff880`04600000
regi.sys 10/31/2006 04:22:11 AM fffff880`07ae1000 0x00008000 0x454707b3 fffff880`07ad9000
AtiPcie.sys 5/5/2009 11:00:22 AM fffff880`01888000 0x00008000 0x4a005486 fffff880`01880000
Rt64win7.sys 5/22/2009 10:52:30 AM fffff880`04337000 0x00039000 0x4a16bc2e fffff880`042fe000
How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

These were cased by your video driver, card, etc. Please re-install the driver using this

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

Or Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

Lately when I've been on the internet, a lot of the time Mozilla will just close and come up with the Mozilla Crash Reporter, It doesn't happen on any specific site and it's been happening more and more frequently. Also, the internet will stop working at all and not load any pages. I'll go to network connections and I'll try to repair my wireless connection and it will just say it is disabling it even though it already did and if I try and manually enable it, it just keeps saying connection failed! Does anyone have any ideas of whats wrong?

A:Errors browsing the internet.

You need to get some sort of kiosk software which locks the computer to only applications you want them to have access to. Not sure if you can get one of these that only applies to specific users?

Welcome to the BleepingComputer Forums. Since it has been a few days since you scanned your computer with HijackThis, we will need a new HijackThis log. If you have not already downloaded Random's System Information Tool (RSIT), please download Random's System Information Tool (RSIT) by random/random which includes a HijackThis log and save it to your desktop. If you have RSIT already on your computer, please run it again. Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT. Click Continue at the disclaimer screen. Please post the contents of log.txt. Thank you for your patience. Please see Preparation Guide for use before posting about your potential Malware problem. If you have already posted this log at another forum or if you decide to seek help at another forum, please let us know. There is a shortage of helpers and taking the time of two volunteer helpers means that someone else may not be helped. Please post your HijackThis log as a reply to this thread and not as an attachment. I am always leery of opening attachments so I always request that HijackThis logs are to be posted as a reply to the thread. I do not think that you are attaching anything scary but others may do so. While we are working on your HijackThis log, please: Reply to this thread; do not start another! Do not make any changes on your computer during the cleaning process or download/add programs on your computer unless instructed to do so. Do not run any other tool until instructed to do so! Let me know if any of the links do not work or if any of the tools do not work. Tell me about problems or symptoms that occur during the fix. Do not run any other programs or open any other windows while doing a fix. Ask any questions that you have regarding the fix(es), the infection(s), the performance of your computer, etc.Thanks.

Hi and welcome
Best advice that I've seen about this error (from here: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tml#post356791 )

Quote:
What you're looking for will be in one of the following categories:

a) BIOS bug
b) a driver whose activity is causing the target processor to lock up
c) a hardware defect (temperature, voltage, dust, RFI, outright borkedness...)

So, check the drivers
Then check the inside of the case (temperature, voltage, dust, etc).
Then run some hardware stress tests

Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Then try replacing parts.
Then look up the versions of your BIOS to see what changes were done.[/QUOTE]

A:Internet hiccupping during browsing, please help

Do you have Verizon FiOS? That's the only Verizon service I'm aware of that uses the Actiontec MI424WR router.

Let's start by connecting a computer with a wired connection directly to the incoming modem and doing the following test.
Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.

The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like:

If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL
http://www.dslreports.com/linequality/nil/2357195 <- sample only, yours will obviously be different!
and your IP will be disguised.

Copy/paste that link here.

Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.
DSLReports

Here's also the Line Quality Tests FAQ to help you understand the results. This will answer some questions about the line quality display.

I wasnt doing much of anything last night, mostly just browsing the internet before bed. I had a number of tabs open and a few had flash content. Other than that I probably had steam running, but wasnt playing any games or anything. The only thing I've done since is update graphics drivers.

A:BSOD While Browsing Internet

this points to an application linked to Nvidia GeForce Experience, however, it also links to your CPU, what could have happened is that the Nvidia update service caused an issue with your CPU.

Generally I surf the net with PaleMoon browser or I access Outlook 2013 as my email client. That's pretty much all I do on my PC.

2 BSOD's today. Starting getting them about 2 weeks ago. Created the attached uploaded files shortly after the last BSOD.

Hello, winsome and welcome to the Forums. I will see if I can help you with this error. First I would like you to fill out your system specs in as much detail as possible. We often have to look up components, so Manufacturer and Model is important. This may help you do that. Please also upload everything here.
Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

Have you installed any new software or hardware lately? I am seeing a lot of errors related to Dell Data Safe Local Backup or Dell scheduling. Please make sure all of your Windows Updates are installed and current. This is what I am getting from your dump files although they are not very definitive.

That is your Avira Antivirus.

Please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Please let us know the outcome.

I am having the same problem with 2 separate computer in different offices...involving the inability to browse with IE.
I am able to release and renew the IP address as well as being able to ping various websites, but when I start IE, it just does not connect to any sites. I've run Symantec Antivirus, Malwarebytes, Ad-Aware and Spybot with the System Restore Off and issues have been found and removed, but still not able to browse with IE. I suspect some type of hosts redirection, but I check the hosts file and there a no entries other that the 127.0.0.1 for localhost.
Any suggestions would be appreciated?

What OS are you using? Be sure to disable Spybot's Teatimer function:-------------------------------Please download Dr.Web CureIt & save it to your desktop. DO NOT perform a scan yet.Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".Scan with Dr.Web CureIt as follows:Double-click on launch.exe to open the program and click Start. (There is no need to update if you just downloaded the most current versionRead the Virus check by DrWeb scanner prompt and click Ok where asked to Start scan now? Allow the setup.exe to load if asked by any of your security programs. The Express scan will automatically begin.
(This is a short scan of files currently running in memory, boot sectors, and targeted folders). If prompted to dowload the Full version Free Trial, ignore and click the X to close the window. If an infected object is found, you will be prompted to move anything that cannot be cured. Click Yes to All.When complete, click Select All, then choose Cure > Move incurable.
(This will move any detected files to the C:\Documents and Settings\userprofile\DoctorWeb\Quarantine folder if they can't be cured)Now put a check next to Complete scan to scan all local disks and removable media. In the top menu, click Settings > Change settings, and UNcheck "Heuristic analysis" under the "Scanning" tab, then click Ok.Back at the main window, click the green arrow "Start Scanning" button on the right under the Dr.Web logo. When the scan is complete, a message will be displayed at the bottom indicating if any viruses were found.Click "Yes to all" if asked to cure or move the file(s) and select "Move incurable".In the top menu, click file and choose save report list.Save the DrWeb.csv report to your desktop.Exit Dr.Web Cureit when done.Important! Reboot your computer because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot. After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web in your next reply. (You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report)
