Titan black or GTX 780 + Quadro K4000 for 3d modeling/gaming

Q: Titan black or GTX 780 + Quadro K4000 for 3d modeling/gaming

So I recently purchased a gtx 780 SC with the intention of gaming and doing 3d modeling work and game development with maya/blender/unreal engine 4. Originally, I was thinking of starting with the 780 and maybe a little later get the mid range quadro k4000 to use specifically for the 3d modeling work. I was wondering if just purchasing a GTX titan black with its double precision floating point performance would be a better option? Doing this would be around 100-150 cheaper and I would be able to game and do 3d modeling work with one card. I guess my main question is does the titan black compare with the quadro card mentioned above in terms of 3d modeling? I know the K4000 is a mid-ranged card so I wasn't sure if the titan maybe would do even a little better than the k4000? Any help appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

As far as 3D modeling goes, the biggest thing you will need is ram on the card for the blender and 3D modeling aspect. Some programs are specifically limited to the Quaddro series of cards which means you will have to check if the programs you use will work with any GPU.

Basically, I would say either just get a 780ti 6gb edition (Being released this month I believe) if your programs will all work fine on the GTX series of cards. Or if that won't work, you should be fine with the 780 and grabbing a Quaddro series card to go with it. I would say only get Titan black if you really need the extra compute performance it brings because otherwise its expensive and still would end up being better in my book just getting an K4000 with your 780 since you already own the 780.

If you are doing mostly Modeling the the Quatro cards are the best...but if you are going to game and model about evenly then the GTX titan black...but have heard it does very well in modeling also....it would all come down to price I would say in the end for me at least

A:Quadro K4000 quad display gfx card

The NVIDIA Quadro K4000 is a workstation video card and is similar to a GeForce GTX 780

You can game on it but expect the performance to be a little bit slower because it only runs great on OpenGL

or you could sell it for a good deal

What are the main differences between a Nvidia Quadro type card (like NVIDIA Quadro FX 370 Video Card - 256MB GDDR2-$109) and the various dual output gaming cards out there (for instance the XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX Video Card 256MB DDR3-$89)? I am contemplating building a new system for stock trading. Nvidia Quadro are used in workstations I know of but gaming cards seem faster and cheaper for same price-I must be missing something? Can you split the outputs of the Nvidia Quadros (ie get 4monitors hooked up to one dual output card with 4 independent windows of streaming data 1each on each monitor?) Thanks in advance...

I've read Quadro's are stable and highly recommended for CAD, etc workstations (not for gaming) and gaming cards are obviously better for gaming. I am looking to setup two separate dual output video cards in a new machine. It will be used primarily for streaming real time financial info/web surfing (no CAD nor any 3D modeling) with a secondary use of gaming (not important for me to run top games at top resolutions-average is fine). Should I look at getting Quadros or game cards. I am leaning toward the game cards like Nvidia 8600GT, etc as they are lower price and seems like if they can run games fast/no problem-why wouldn't they easily be able to handle business applications? Quadros seem to cost more and can mainly only be used for business apps?

A:Nvidia Quadro vs Nvidia gaming cards

Quadros are for Digital Content Creation and CAD purposes mainly. For you, a pair of 8600GTs would be fine.

I was wondering what makes NVidia's quadro cards so much more expensive than even the high end gaming GPUs? I know there more for the "workstation" PC and are used more for 3d modeling and such with programs like 3ds max and maya but what exactly do these quadro cards have that the high end gaming GPUs don't? More cuda processors? Higher Memory bus width? The reason I am asking is because I recently purchased a GTX 780 SC and was thinking of getting into either 3ds max/maya in the near future. Would purchasing another GTX 780 and putting into sli configuration help with programs like max and maya? Thanks for the any help!

To answer your question, the Quaddro series of cards or FirePro for AMD are different from the gaming cards because they re-purpose the cards for straight up compute. The software included with them and drivers along with some additional features make them poor at gaming but better in the fields of compute/cuda dev/opencl/etc. Also those cards in most cases also cram more RAM than the standard card models for higher rendering among other things.

You will be fine with a 780 for the basics of 3DS max and maya and adding another would be somewhat beneficial later down the line but you can definitly use your superclock GTX 780 for this and get decent performance for these programs.

The Threat Modeling Tool allows users to create threat model documents for applications. It organizes relevant data points, such as entry points, assets, trust levels, data flow diagrams, threats, threat trees, and vulnerabilities into an easy-to-use tree-based view. The tool saves the document as XML, and will export to HTML and MHT using the included XSLTs, or a custom transform supplied by the user

Hi, I'm unsure if there are many 3d modellers on this site, if so I am in need of some advice.

I am following a tutorial which is using Maya 2014, however I am using Maya 2013. My task now is to use the modeling kit (only found in 2014) to snap an object onto the surface of another, using "transform constrain".

Unfortunately I cannot find an alternative to transform constrain in 2013, is there one? I tried using point constrains etc, but they werent giving me the desired effect.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Firtly i will give you some info about my pc:

proccesor: intel core 2 quad CPU @2.40Ghz
Ram: 4GB ddr2
Graphic card: Nvidia Ge Force 8800 GT
Graphic card's drivers: 8.17.12.5896
Windows 7 ultimate 64x
So my problem:

While i am playing a game (windowed mode mainly but happened of full mode as well) after some minutes (about..20) the monitor loses signal.Which means i have sound(not sure wether it just repeats the same part over and over again or the sound actually goes normal) but i get black screen and the monitor says "No signal'.
Weird part is that it doesn't happen to all games. So far it happened only on CoD:Black ops while football manager 2010 and pro evolution soccer 2010/2011 work without any problems.
If you need any more information let me know.
Thank you in advance

My son has a new Cabela's Big Game Hunter Platinum Series and when it loads, the screen is black. It is fully installed with DirectX 8 and all. It has a preview link and it shows up fine. He has a 500Mhz AMD with 64 MB Ram. It has onboard video and sound, so the Ram is reduced to 56 MB.
His brother has Dell Pc and it works perfect installed on it. Today I installed it on my PC, which has a video card and it works great.
What do you think, could it be the onboard card? I think it is 3D and of course 8MB. Thanks.

Hello,

Sometimes when I play PC games, my screen goes black, and the power button changes from green to yellow, like its idle. This happened twice, once while playing a PC game, and once when I was just browsing the net. I don't think its a power supply issue being that I have a Altec 450W power supply. Could it be doing this because I flashed the pipes on my videocard? but then again, that was over 5 months ago and I dont see why a problem would start now. Any help would be appreciated. I have a Sapphire X800GTO.

Is this from overheating? The only hot part of my comp is my CPU, I have reasonable airflow and 5 fans, I even took the side off. I stick my hand in there and the air feels pretty decent.

But is this overheating? I'll order a new heatsink and fan http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-106-038&depa=0

A:Black screen during gaming?!?!?!

HI,

This is not a 64bit issue and not an overheating issue. thats the good news but now for something completely different !
Its time to troubleshoot and post back your results.
1. What is your 3d card and driver type and version?
2. Do you overclock?
3. Are there other 3d games that don't crash or do all 3d required games crash?
4. remove current 3d card and try to replace with peice of crap 3d card bought for a couple of dollars and try again(its not quality your looking for here). If replaced and runs fine then it will be your 3d card most probably and time to return and get another one.
5. Do you have pci, Agp, PCI-X ?
6. Have you installed the cards close together or is there a mximum amount of space between your cards. (I had issues when an AGP and DTV tuner were to close even though there was good airflow)?

At the moment point 4 is the most important so concentrate on ruling the 3D card compatability issue or defect issue.

Regards
Scot

Recently my monitor is acting really weird, When I play games it randomly goes black when I do different things. Some examples.

When I play Far cry 4 the screen goes black when I stand in certain spots and it goes back on when I move.

When I play watch dogs the screen goes black when I change the video settings,

When the screen goes black the games keeps running and I can do stuff in the game but I don't know how to fix it.

Computer specs:

AMD FX-4300 quad core

AMD R7 250 1gb

8GB RAM

1TB harddrive

Asus VE247H

A:Screen randomly goes black when gaming

It is probably not the monitor. Try looking for a more recent video driver for the computer and its AMD R7 250 1gb video card

Howdy,

I am using the following machine with all of the stock hardware:
Samsung NP-RF510
Access Denied

-exception is that the stock chipset was replaced due to a malfunction

I have been experiencing the following problem for some time:
When playing computer games the screen will go black and the computer will lock up. Whatever sound file that was being played will loop until the computer shuts down (either it times out or I press the power button). The computer ONLY freezes up during games. I have tested the card with 3DMark, leaving it running for hours without issue.

I have attempted the following solutions:
1) Updated all drivers
2) Rolled back graphics drivers
3) Improved cooling (laptop fan)

Thank you to anyone who helps in advance. You all are the best folks on the internet.

My pc system was working fine for the last two years. I have a 8800 gts graphics card. 3.0 cpu, soundblaster extreme, and 3 memory. I was playing Bio Shock 2 and my game kept freezing....needing a reboot. Eventually it crashed to a black screen. No sound, nothing. Now all my games crash to black screen. Hard drive makes a intermittant clicking noise after the crash while frozen. Computer does NOT crash when surfing internet and other functions. Hard drive going bad? Computer has same power supply and in same area (regarding cooling).

I've got the same problem I've read about in other threads here about the screen going black during games but in my case it's rather wierd My screen goes black no matter what game I am playing Can of goes in gaming. Screen the middle black be an old game like Condition Zero or Left dead screen goes black but there is still sound then the monitor shuts off unable to find a signal I have two computers with pretty much the same specs- pentium core duo ghz gigs ram both have Nvidea geforce gt and one has XP and the other windows One is an emachine and the other a Dell The thing that Screen goes black in the middle of gaming. is wierd is that both PC's run games perfectly with the same gpu's in both Nvidea gt but one gpu developed a bad fan after awhile and so I took that gt out of that one and took the other gt with the Screen goes black in the middle of gaming. good fan out of the other PC and installed it in the computer with a bigger HD Now when playing any game it can play perfectly for a few minutes to an hour then the screen goes black and there Screen goes black in the middle of gaming. is nothing you can do about it ctrl alt dlt won't bring the screen back on to get to the task manager and the monitor shuts off and I must do a hard shutdown at the power button and restart I reinstalled both the drivers that came with the gpu and updated drivers from Nvidea's website neither works and the problem still exists If I install the gpu with the bad fan back in the computer having the issue the problem is resolved and if I install the cpu that I switched out back where it was originally in the original pc it works in that one as well so placing the two gpu's back in the original pc's they were in works so this means it's not the operating system causing the issue it's not corrupted drivers either not a mother board issue or an issue with the cpu or for that matter registry issues or anything else I can think of It's just plain weird Makes no sense Anyone have any idea what the hell could be going on

Hello Agent Jen, Welcome to Sevenforums. I see that you have 3 gigs of memory. Do you have 2 RAM sticks for this? If yes, then try to run the PC with a single stick and tell us the outcome.

what does it say in event viewer? Type eventvwr in search. go to the windows log>application tab first.

Look for critical errors (they have red i the left column) that say app hang, app crash, or anything that describes the problem.

When you fond them note the Event ID and source codes and tell us what they are.
Let us know if you need help

So, when I'm playing games like Crysis 2, Wow, Lol and more, my pc crashing ~10/15 min after i have launch a game and a black sreen appears.

I tried some solutions to fix it like:
-formatting computer
-update bios mobo
-update chipset mobo
-update/downgrade graphics drivers (safemode + driver sweeper)

-crashs occur with my old RADEON HD 5850, replaced by a HD 6870 by RMA, but crashs still occur
-memtest, 0 errors founded.
-ATI Tray Tool 3D module, crash after 30s/2min.

My pc is clean, all drivers updated, lastest version for all.
When playing, GPU temperature is not over 60?C (around 55/60?C) and CPU temp is about 60/62?C. 12V rail at 11.77V/11.80V.
A good friend and me think the problem is hardware, like alim, or motherboard. But voltages and temps appear so good. So, I require your help to have a better opignion of the problem.

Hard or soft ? And what can i do to solve it ?

Config :
-Windows 7 x64 SP1
-Intel Core i7 860 Socket 1156 2.8GHz
-Motherboard : ASUS P7P55D-E
-RAM 4Go DDR3 G.Skill F3-10666 (9.9.9.24, 1.5V/1.55V)
-GPU ATI RADEON HD 6870
-Alim Cooler Master GX 650W
I can give you other systems informations if you ask me it.

I link you the lastest dmp file.

A:Black screen and buzzing sound when gaming

Hello and Welcome,

Does this only happen when gaming or watching movies?

Boot the PC into the BIOS and post the temp and voltage readings.

Once back in Windows download and install HWMonitor

Once the program is installed post a screenshot at idle and while the PC is under load.

You can ALT+Tab to the program to take the screenshot.

Is the buzzing noise coming from the speakers or inside the PC?

What brand/wattage PSU are you currently using?

Hello --- I have a Win7 x64 system, custom built, which recently has stopped responding. I'll go into my office and find that it's still on, but I have nothing showing up on my screen and I have to restart. The whole system is about two years old with little to no modifications since then. I did have to replace the CPU fan last week, but these problems started a couple of months ago.

Attached are the dump files. Appreciate the help!

Hello I had a friend of mine help me build this computer from scratch a few years ago It s been working great until a few months ago I have had several issues some may be pertaining to hardware some not Perhaps there would be better with one thread for each issue but I have a hunch they are at least some how related I m unsure if this thread fits here on in any other forum Any help with either one of them would be appreciated All of my drivers AFAIK are up to date all Windows updates are installed and all applications I have problems with are updated as well Then during some heavier games such as Skyrim I would get a completely black screen mid-game Recently it s been happening in Guild Wars The sound would still be on and background applications seemed to be running could still PC sluggish running gaming, while screen Black talk on Skype the screen would just go black and the monitor shut off Opening task manager alt-tabbing trying to exit Black screen while gaming, PC running sluggish the would not work The only solution would be a hard reset This only happened once or twice in the past but recently it s been happening more often especially during longer gaming sessions I recently got infected but I got help with that see this thread for reference However one of the non-virus related I believe blue screens I received is BCCode eBCP FFFFFFFFC BCP FFFFF BBCP FFFFF Black screen while gaming, PC running sluggish A E BCP FFFFF A F OS Version Service Pack Product C Windows Minidump - - dmpC Users Hugo AppData Black screen while gaming, PC running sluggish Local Temp WER- - sysdata xmlIt has not happened since however Booting used to take roughly seconds before my desktop was fully loaded now it s close to minutes I do realize as time goes by booting might get slower but not this much First of all when I turn the computer on the ASUS-screen flashes briefly and it seems to initiate something and then after a few seconds the ASUS-screen flashes again and it s not until now the actual loading of Windows starts I can t for the life of me recall if it used to be like this it seems weird to me though Then when Windows loads it first shows the Win -logo for a time then it slowly switches to show the cursor the welcome screen and finally my desktop This for sure didn t be like this I do realize that my descriptions are sub-par but my hardware related knowledge is quite limited I could post a video if that helps just say the word Then sometimes while browsing the web with just a few tabs open Chrome or Firefox will freeze up for a few seconds and then return to normal This do not seem to be related to what I m doing although I have noticed that it does occur more frequently when just having opened a new tab Also foobar or any media player will sometimes freeze and stop playback for - seconds before resuming If I check CPU Ram-usage through task manager while this happens there does not seem to be a spike It has happened when foobar is the only running application on my computer except for background services too Sometimes changing the track takes a few seconds instead of starting instantly which it used to do Oh as evident from the thread I have still not been able to complete a SFC-scan it quits at Here is a snapshot from Speccy http speccy piriform com results IQjxO tmKv K Elu Um hLYThank you for taking the time to read so far I m patiently awaiting any reply

I've noticed that when I run certain games there is a black frame (about 1" in actual width) around my screen even if I set the correct resolution. Since this is consistent across a few titles, I figure it's a display issue and not the games. My monitor supports a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 but even if I set it to that some games display this frame all the time. Not a huge deal as the games run just fine but I would like to see them running at full screen. Any ideas on how to fix this. The desktop is fine (full screen) as do most games with the exception of a few titles.

In the past few weeks, I've been getting a lot of black screen crashes while playing games - not all games - it seems to be limited to games involving Steam. No BSOD, just a black screen while the game's sound continues, followed by a buzzing sound.

I'm wondering if it's being caused by some of the newer AMD drivers - since I reinstalled Windows 7, I went straight to the latest drivers. I'm going to go back to some older ones and see if it still happens. Temperatures for GPU/CPU seem fine - it's not as if the fans are howling their heads off before the crashes.

If anyone's got any other ideas, it would be great if you could post them.

A:Black screen crashes while gaming, no BSOD

Edit: None of that worked - and it's now happening with non Steam games as well.

Is there a file I could post that would be of use and if so, where can I access it?

Hello.

My computer frequently crashes to a blank (black) screen when I play games like TES V or Fable III, and leaves me no alternative but to do a hard reset with the power button. I've cleaned out the air vents several times to no avail, and I'm pretty sure my video drivers are up to date. As far as I can tell the CPU isn't being overused either.

I think the problem may be overheating but I don't know for sure. It doesn't seem to get that hot.

I've had a very similar problem before, and last time cleaning the vents out with a compressed air can did the trick. The only difference last time is that it wasn't always a blank screen, sometimes it hard weird vertical lines all over it.

I don't know what to do

hello bleeping computer world. im sure you have had many cases of black screens popping up while gaming. i know the issue might have to do with my laptop heating up, but i just want to double check as this has only started happening recently on my new vaio vgn-fw490J laptop.

im running on vista home premium sp1 with a radeon hd 4650 graphics card and have installed/run speed fan on automatic fan speed as some forums have suggested, but my black problem still hasnt gone away.

it has only happened while i played HoN (Heroes of Newerth), a pretty graphically demanding game, but again im puzzled because i played the game perfectly fine for two~three weeks, then one day i suddenly get a black screen, then another, and then another... etc.

if you guys can help, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated!

thanks :]

A:random black screen while gaming on my laptop

Hello
I am wondering if this is a video card issue?
While gaming in Ultima Online, at the corner of my gaming window in the direction that my character is moving, I get a grey or black area and the landscape slowly loads as I move towards it.

I have cable intenet and my ping to the game is about 13 ms (lowest) to 57 ms (highest) which is pretty good I think. So I dont think its my connection.

My video card is a Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440.

I've also been experiancing spotty lag here and there over the past two weeks. I have been playing Ultima Online on this PC and connection for well over a year and didnt have these issues.

I ran a virus scan, Adaware, Spybot S&D, and a defrag. I also opened my case and cleaned out any dust.

Help?

Thanks

A:Screen Flickers Then Turns Black(When Gaming)

Possibly a heat issue. Have you cleaned out the inside of your system recently?
Try installing something like Speedfan (free download, easy to find via Google) and have that running. Then you can monitor your CPU, GPU etc temperatures.

Also, ensure all your drivers are up to date.

No guarantees this is the problem but anything that is fairly quick, free and easy is worth a shot first of all.

If the nVidia display driver does not work properly in connection with some games, you will need to wait for a upgrade?
On nVidia page you will find ALWAYS the latest driver?

I would check temperatures of system and gfx in particular and if they are ok try a gfx test program to see if you have any issues eg Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Check your gfx drivers are up to date also

A:BSOD gaming hal error and ntoskrnl.exe Arma 2 & Black ops 2

Code:
BugCheck 124, {0, fffffa8007aa28f8, 0, 0}

Probably caused by : AuthenticAMD
Follow these steps: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Stop 0x124 never provides much good information and doesn't point any specific hardware; "AuthenticAMD" is a generic probably caused line with 0x124 BSODs, that's why it's always best to test all the hardware and follow the steps within the 0x124 link.

Here are some programs which will come in useful when following the steps -

Hard Drive:
Disk Check
CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World
SeaTools for Windows | Seagate
Memory:RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Run Memtest86+ for least 7-8 passes, and preferrly overnight as it can take a while to fully complete.

Test each RAM stick individually, if an error is found then move the same RAM stick into the next DIMM slot and test again, if errors are found for the same RAM stick in every available slot then you have a faulty RAM module. On the other hand, if no errors are found in the next slot or the other slots for the same RAM module, then you have a faulty DIMM slot.

Test each RAM stick and every motherboard DIMM slot available.

My computer goes black at seemingly random points during gaming.

I checked to see if it was overheating with a log post (that exceeds the limit of .txt-files, thus I cannot attach it). As far as I can see there is no problem there. My best guess would be the graphic card driver, but updating them seemed to have no effect last time I did it (just got back from vacation, updating again as I post).

Any help would be very velcome!

A:Just made a gaming pc, windows 7 goes to black screen at boot

Is there a newer BIOS update? Check the Giga site.

If not is this an EFI BIOS as on most new mobos? If so there are special steps to install to UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums.

An alternative to installing in EFI is to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7

Hi Darius. We want you to do a simple no cost diagnostic step by doing the following:

1. Remove your case side panel.

2. Find a small fan and have it blow into system.

3. Now play your game.
* What are the results?

hey all, i recently updated a vista 64 machine to 7 64. Its win preminum. and i have a ATI HD3200 onboard memory, but it is dedicated, and i am running all the up to date drivers for EVERYTHING. my problem is this, if i change the resolution, i get black bars instead of like it would used to strech the screen to fit, now its black bars like your watching a wide screen DVD on a regular tv. so because of that, in Games its like that too, and for somereason now Left for Dead 2 wont even run, when everything was working with vista. Help please.

I've been getting simply a ton of Event ID- Kernel Power crashes during which my screen errors. Power Frequent Screens during Black gaming, Kernel simply goes black the sound freezes for a few seconds and it reboots I've had my sneaking suspicions that Frequent Black Screens during gaming, Kernel Power errors. it has to do with my fairly well-aged power supply but this is somewhat baffling since it never did this until fairly recently during Starcraft Borderlands and now Diablo League of Legends seems to be mild enough that it runs without crashing though Thus far I've installed a new OS updated from W Home -bit and am looking to get an W power supply from a friend I know this has been popping up rather frequently on this forum so I've viewed other threads as well -The mobo has no bent or leaking transistors it's in mint condition as far as physical abuse goes -I've kept the system dusted nothing is interfering with power by contact -The crashes only seem to happen during graphically intense games possible my video card is going out to GeForce GT Running D on normal settings runs fine but crashed frequently Turning down the resolution and the gfx settings to low it crashed much less frequently This seems to be picking up as I've had two crashes tonight within minutes of gameplay So I'm wanting some input on what Frequent Black Screens during gaming, Kernel Power errors. other viewers believe I should do here Thank you

A:Frequent Black Screens during gaming, Kernel Power errors.

The GeForce GT240 requires a minimum 400W PSU, your 420W CM PSU should be plenty from your specs. It might be time to upgrade to a Geforce GT520 2GB which you can get for about 40$ and works on a 400W PSU [ using this on a friend's PC ]

Hi there,

I've been getting some rather random crashes, after trying all the usual troubleshooting I thought I had solved it by replacing the GPU but it has just reared its ugly head again tonight. The screen goes black randomly during gaming, no particular title or anything meaning I have to reboot. The event log mentioned this after I rebooted:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000133 (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000501, 0x0000000000000500, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 022615-4796-01.

As per the instructions in the sticky I've attached the DM Log collector Tool zip file.

Hope you can help.

Thanks,

Mark

A:Black Screen Crashes while Gaming: Event Log 1001 BugCheck

Hi Mark & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-
DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133)
The DPC watchdog detected a prolonged run time at an IRQL of DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000000, A single DPC or ISR exceeded its time allotment. The offending
component can usually be identified with a stack trace.
Arg2: 0000000000000501, The DPC time count (in ticks).
Arg3: 0000000000000500, The DPC time allotment (in ticks).
Arg4: 0000000000000000

So, it seems that a driver exceeded the time limit allotted to it. Let's check the stack and see if we could find something.

So, it was the NVIDIA Driver responsible for the crash. Could you please run the Display Driver Uninstaller from this **LINK** and uninstall the currently installed NVIDIA Driver. Once the current driver has uninstalled, kindly install a driver which is few versions behind or try the driver you got in the Driver Disc with the Graphics Card.

Mesososo, Was this a past issue even before the installation of Windows 7?
If so, this issue could be caused due to the fact your graphics driver does not fit the needs to play the game in full screen. This issue could be resolved by upgrading your graphics driver in your pc.

If games worked fine before the installation of Windows 7, Then you could be missing drivers and I would recommend you to locate drivers for your specific graphics card and download/install them.

Past Experience

I've had this issue before running Windows XP, which was due to the fact my graphics card did not fit the needs to play the online game. I had to upgrade the graphics card which did cost money ($$$) but is worth it if you would like to play the games in full screen.

I have had some problems with my computer lately. When I`m gaming (All types) my pc will suddenly crash (No BSOD, just black screen), then reset and show the error code 1000007e. I`ve run malware scans, and an SFC scan. The SFC scan said it fixed something, but I dont know what and the problem persists.

I`m clueless what to do and I hope anyone of you people can help me. I`ve included the log from the SFC scan and the windows\Minidump\...dmp file.

I didn't have the debugging information set to small memory dump until now as I just started getting serious about finding out what the heck is going on and I didn't know it was better to have it set as such. I'll be sure to repost the logs in this thread when I crash next.

I starting having black screens while playing Starcraft II and eventually they started to occur at seemingly random times (surfing the internet, and other non-taxing things). The system will hard hang and the only way to shut down is to hold the power button. I've tried to check that there weren't multiple drivers of the same type running as well as many other forum suggestions.

I've replaced the bones of my system in hopes that one of the core hardware pieces was causing the issue, and it hasn't helped. I've replaced the Mobo, CPU, and RAM (to what is in my system specs). I thought I solved the problem when I unplugged all hard drives except for the OS drive as I hadn't had a crash in days and today I was playing Skyrim and BAM - black screen and hard hang.

When it boots up I get a message mentioning that the overclocking failed - but I haven't set up any overclocking or done anything to the system. I set the BIOS to default and then windows boots up fine. I also never got that message with my old mobo/ram/cpu.

I'm at a loss as to what's causing this headache. Thanks for any help!

No DMP files included in upload please try this method
We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Greetings all. I recently sold my Nvidia Quadro FX4000 256MB AGP graphics card on Ebay to a guy in Germany (I am in UK). Used the standard Ebay description tool which displayed it as PNY NVidia Quadro FX4000 256mb AGP card.

My question is: are there 2 varients of this card ie Nvidia and PNY? The guy is stating that I have sent him an Nvidia Card as opposed to a PNY card and is requesting a refund.

I sold the card in good faith (using the Ebay description tool) thinking that there was only one varient and the picture I took is exactly like the PNY varient too so I thought I was selling one in the same?

I would appreciate your views guys. I think maybe this guy is trying it on?

Many thanks.

Can someone explain why the GTX Titan 6 GB is twice as expensive as the GTX 780 6 GB? Performance-wise, I'm getting from a couple of online comparisons that the GTX Titan only marginally exceeds the 780 6 GB.

So, for what kind of user is the GTX Titan a better choice? In my case, it will be 3D modeling, texturing and rendering (with a GPU-accelerated renderer).

A:GTX Titan twice the $$ of 780 6 GB?

the gtx titan has everything fully unlocked as well as double precision ram. making it perfect for gaming and content creating. where as the 780ti is purley aimed at gamers.

Hi I have a budget of $2000 I need a computer for rendering. Does the video card matter for the rendering process or only for the modeling and custizing?

A:I need a computer for rendering in Artlantis and Maxwell (Not modeling only rendering)

I would look at this build. You can take out the sound card and peripherals and use the saved money to buy an i7 4770K rather than the i5. I would also upgrade the GPU to a GTX 780. The CPU and GPU are vital hardware when it comes to rendering and modelling. That rig I mentioned above should do fine.

It is really annoying when I move a pawn two spaces forward to be next to an opposing pawn and the pawn beside me moves diagonally to the space behind my pawn and captures said pawn. This happens all over the board so it is not limited to the particular
location.

Altho I am a good computer user, virus and trojan problems are a little beyond me. Eralier this week, the home page used by this laptop was hijacked by titan shield. I ran a Hijack This scan and would appreciate if someone would review the log and let me know if I am infected with that or any other insidious software. I regularly run scans with Norton anti-virus, Lavasoft's ad-aware and Spybot S&D.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Please post the log rather than attaching

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.

A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply along with a new hijack log.

The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Warning: running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

I first played this fantastic game on my single-core, 32-bit, 1 gig of RAM, Windows XP machine, and I loved it. After being away for a year, I loaded it with no problem onto my dual-core, 64-bit, 4 gigs of RAM Windows 8 machine and it plays well. But my computer tells me that the sequel, "Lilith," cannot be loaded onto my machine.

Yet I have Windows 7 on another partition, and it runs Lilith just fine. On the Titan Quest forums, two people mentined the same problem, but no one had a solution. Any geniuses out there?

A:Titan Quest

You could try booting a Virtual Machine to play the game, Since it might only need minimal requirements. Otherwise if you have a spare Windows XP / 7 disk laying around you could create a HDD partition for this game (and you could also put all your work / school stuff on that partition as a back up in-case anything goes wrong with the operating system you're on now).

Hello, I am new here.  I have spent a multitude of hours on trying to get rid of Titan Coupon.  I have not installed any anti-malware, as it was obvious that the anti-malware results were being skewed by the actual malware installed.

* I have run RKill.
* I have run Malwarebytes

Nothing has located or deleted the malware!  Help!
I would send a print screen with this post, but the WYSIWYG does not allow me to upload an image.

Thanks.

Hello, I just intalled a titan X on my HP Z840 and the workstation wont boot and beeps 6 times (gpu warning). The fan does not spin. I'm wondering how to diagnose this problem? Could it be that titan X will not work on my HP z840? I have a 1125w power supply which should be more then enough. Please help, Thank you

A:Titan X on HP Z840

I have 3 Z840 with at least 1 Titan X in each of them. They should boot up with no problem. I had similar problem when I only connect 1 6pin to 6pin and 1 6pin to 8pin. Later I changed it to 1 6pin to 6pin and 2 6pin to 8pin and the problem is solved.
