I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

sounds like it's just a faulty board... it doesn't matter if you have a single ATI or NVIDIA card, it should work with either

It goes to 100% and restarts, then when it gets to "Completing installation" it will go to a black screen and quit.

What's up with that?

Tried 2 DVD's now.

A:Can't install on new EVGA 680i MB

Only the mouse cursor on the black screen?

If the installation goes like that, to my 'old' experience, you may try to go the
Safe Mode, and install the Nvidia Forceware Driver and problem will be fixed.

MSI 925x Neo Platinum MB. I tried everything but alas the same result.
Then MSI informd me that the guarantee 2years starts from the day it leaves the factory and not from when you purchase their merchandise. So needless to say I WONT be purchasing anything else from them. So take note !!
So guys I have purchased the above MB in its place and wondered if anyone out there had any experience of it. I'm not an avid gamer but wanted someting I could use from my knackered board eg PCU RAM etc to save on costs that would (hopefully) fit this MB.

I am running windows Home Premium 64bit. I just did a fresh install and when I ran the WEI the computer rebooted. I can run it with out being in SLI mode, but as soon as I enable and refresh the computer reboots. I am wondering if it is caused by the power supply. I have a rosewill RP650 2 psu. A:Evga GTX 260 SLI with Evga x58 mother board reboot issues

Hi and welcome to seven forums

How recent is the SLI? Have you just added the 2nd card?

Could you tell us the rest of your system specs or fill them in on your profile.

Do both cards work fine if you just have 1 installed?

Sounds like it could be a power issue if so.

Cheers

Paul.

I was looking at This mobo from EVGA and noticed tiger had the New T1 version for $20 more.

Does anyone know what the difference between these mobos is and is it worth paying the $20 extra for whatever the new T1 version is? They also have things listed like the A1 version.

A:Difference between EVGA T1 version of 680i mobo?

Usually those slight upgrades fix or repair some flaw or device driver... also you can often learn more by a Google search or just reading the specs at EVGA on each.
These slight upgrades are usually important enough to pay the extra 20 bucks.

Take it easy, one step at a time, keep kids away, watch for static, think before you act and then think again. If in doubt, build the whole thing outside the case and boot it up before fitting it for the final time.

would there be any crossfire conflictions ?

Ok I am going to get the nvidia 680i motherboard and was wondering if I had to get ddr2 1200 RAM. Cause I already have some RAM and would like to put it on the MOBO and 1200 RAM is very expensive. Ok, I have solved "MY" nv4 loop error .

It is not a software fix however.

After I and most people have tried every fix out there, I decided to go to the root of the problem. The memory.
I ran boot up with each DIMM alone. I use 3 1gb OCZ 6400's .
2 of these DIMM's ran any program that crashed before with no problem, only 1 did not. Further I ran the 2 DIMM's together and no more error.

I have heard that there is an issue with the 680i motherboards giving incorrect voltage to memory or that it reads incorrect voltage . In either case on memory module is bad. While I consider this a final troubleshoot victory , it isnt cheap. But none the less im happy with the outcome.

I hope this helps anyone who hasnt found answers. If this works for you let me know, and thanks to all who tried to help.

Hey, so im looking to upgrade my graphics card in my computer, which i bought about a year ago; overall it's pretty good other than the crappy radeon r7 200 series graphics card that came with it. I'm planning on buying an EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1060 3GB soon. I have multiple problems: Firstly i'm not sure if it will fit into my motherboard or if it's even compatible with it, this being a GA-F2A68HM-HD2.
Furthermore, I'm not sure what the power output is of my pc, so idk how to check if it can support it (i also dont know the power requirement of it so any help on that would be appreciated)
Notes, in my case, it is mostly empty spare for the fans, cpu etc, the motherboard has nothing opposite it, with about 10/11 cm of space between it and the side of my pc.
Any help with this would be amazing,
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys,

I installed the gtx 470 today and now my PC won't boot. If I turn my computer on, there is no picture on the screen, and my keyboard and mouse don't light up. The motherboard beeps once, which from what I have read, means it passed the POST. My psu is supposed to have 62A on the 12v rail, which should be enough to power the card.

When we take out the card, and use the on-board video, it boots fine.

Could this be a problem with the card? I have tried 3 different psu cables :P (From the wall to the psu) and we still have the problem. I would think the keyboard and mouse would still light up even if the card is defective, which is why I think there could not be enough power being sent to the computer

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi all, I have an Acer 8930G laptop with an Nvidia 9600M GT graphics card (forceware v.260.89). I had downloaded EVGA Precision but I'm not sure what exactly is a good recommended setting for the core/shader/memory clock for my card should be. Hopefully someone here can advise which is a good setting to set my card to without melting it. For some reason the "test" button is greyed out so I can't find a limit of what the card can handle.

TIA!

A:EVGA Precision & Nvidia 9600M GT

you need to download the accompanying program to test, though I'm blanking on its name. I think you have to be signed in first though. There is no specific perfect setting, it is just trial and error. Start small and slowly go bigger. Also, you might be able to find more help on an Nvidia forum as it is more specific, or an overclocking forum.

Hows the overall quality and performance of this card i got the 320 mb version to this brand new sealed and want to know shall i pop this in or get a 620 mb etc Any info would be great Thanks in advanced

A:Evga nvidia 8800 gts Questions.

From what ive heard the difference between the two versions only shows above 1600x1200 resolutions, and thats just framerates. I suppose it depends on the game also but from my research thats been the only difference. Last week I just upgraded from a vanilla 6800 to a EVGA superclocked 8800gts 320MB and I haven't found anything to complain about yet. Performance in Vista isnt up to par yet but thats true for all Nvidia cards, they generally perform 10-20% worse in Vista than they do in XP.

i just bought a new EVGA 6800gt off of ebay and i want to know if it is possible to remove the stock heatsink and turn it 180 degrees and reattach it. if some could find a pic of the underside of the heatsink it would help me out alot. the reason i want to do this is because i have a pci slot fan and i want to use it to suck the hot air from the video card

A:Nvidia EVGA 6800gt heatsink

You might be able to get some pics off google.

However, without checking, I'd have to say no. From experience, their heatsinks were manufactured to fit the graphics card and RAM, which are of different heights. Therefore, the underside of the heatsink isn't flat... and you get the idea hopefully.

I have an old computer which I am converting into a media system. It has a EVGA NVIDIA 7800GS card (AGP) which I am connecting a DVI to HDMI cable. Will this support sound through the DVI to HDMI cable or am I stuck with computer speaker sound from the computer audio port?

A:EVGA Nvidia 7800GS - DVI to HDMI sound

no, the sound will not be carried through the DVI connection. if you were using a direct HDMI output on the card it would work (if the sound had audio processing) but only the video will be carried (i.e. DVI does not support sound)

Hello guys, so I've had this video card for awhile now but it's been really buggy. The main reason is because the disc that came with it (the exact one shown here http://e-techsiliconvalley.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3966) had some kind of indention on it preventing from being read at all. I tried using drivers of all sorts on the nvidia and EVGA site and all of them end up in failure. As in, the screen stays blank right before the Windows welcome screen or everything loads up but when scrolling, the screen lags and doesn't move to the next frame smoothly.

So can someone point me in the right direction for drivers or some other kind of fix I'm not seeing?

A:EVGA Nvidia 7600GT 512MB AGP Driver

You might have the right drivers, just the wrong settings. If the screen is blank until windows loads, then the onboard video card is still enabled. You can probably disable it in the bios. As for the scrolling....What is your refresh rate set to? Right click > Settings tab > advanced > monitor. If it's at 60 try changing it to 70 or vice versa.

Howdy folks, I'm looking for some sane and simple help getting my new graphics card configured to play Diablo II with the right res. I'm running Vista Home Premium (came with the system), on an ASUS P5N-E mobo w/ E6600 CPU. Using DVI connection, as opposed to the VGA connector (since the video card has no connector for it), on an HP w2207 22" widescreen monitor. Theoretically the graphics should be awesome, but I'm here to tell you that it looks like dog shyte. My VAIO laptop provides a better experience right now, and that's a sad situation.

Still haven't started trying to overclock anything, cause everything isn't just peachy yet.

Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

A:Nvidia (eVGA) 7600gt freezing quite often in games

Firstly, what are your pc specs? To your question about fans, some are designed to blow air out the back of your case, but most fans blow air off of your card by either blowing cooler air towards your card or blowing hot air off the heatsink.

When i restarted my computer it showed the bios screen displaying white lines running vertically in pairs of four down my screen. I have reset my computer many times and reset and updated my bios as well. The video card did not have anything blocking the fan to cause it to overheat. A:Nvidia (eVGA) 7600gt graphics card freezing quite often in-game

This can be any number of reasons having to do with the hardware on your video card. First, I'd keep the Forceware software running in the background and do a quick alt+tab to see if you’re overheating. Overheating will cause your VPU to crash and the VPU recover(er) (whatever Nvidia calles it) to try to bring it back. You could also try using bare min graphics settings to see if that has any effect. If none of that helps, try uninstalling all the Nvidia software and drivers and let Windows update install its driver and see if that changes (you can always re-install forceware). If none of that works, you'll need to locate another video card (borrow one if possible) and install its drivers to see if that has effect.

As for your other question, I'm not sure on that model but in general, the fan should suck fresh air past your medal heatsinks and out the other end.

I have an S-Video port on my computer and I am going to run it to my 46" Projection TV.

What I want to know is how to switch b/t S-Video out and the VGA out so I can switch between my monitor and TV - is there a keyboard combination I have to hit (like on a function key on a laptop)?

I will only be viewing video files on my TV (so it won't be too often that I use the S-Video out port).

I remember doing this a while back, but it seems like I had to do a restart and unhook my VGA connection to get the S-Video feed to work - there must be an easier way.

Thanks ALL!!!

Depending on the card, I am personally better versed with ATI, but I know my Nvidia also, you can set up a dual display and set the S video to play all movies at full screen, and through the control disable the TV when not in use.

after many trial and errors with the fans.. i finally figured out why my PC is still so loud.. well the NB chipset cooler on this motherboard (eVGA NF43) is very loud for a little tiny fan. so i decided to replace it with passive cooling.. such as the Zalman ZM-NB47J
http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=71&code=014

Question is.. i have a 6600GT right by the chipset cooler.. will the zalman fit in there? i kno it wont with the 7800GTs but im not sure how much longer ther PCB's are on those cards.. maybe someone can help me =]

A:eVGA 6600GT + eVGA NF43 + Zalman ZM-NB47J = happy? or not?

After looking at my 6600gt, the picture of the motherboad, and the picture of the cooler, I don't think it will work. You use the blue pci-e slot right?
I guess there are several options. If your chipset stays plenty cool you could try slowing the fan either using a software program, or by using a manual fan speed controller. Or I've seen people with the same heatsink and a similar board layout cut some of the spokes(or bend them), so that it wouldn't interfere with the card. There also might be replacments with a fan that is quieter available.

I know about apples and oranges, but I think I might have a unique question.

I have an MSI K9N4 SLI (Nvidia Nforce 500 chipset) mobo, I've been using ATI cards and I have some questions about attempting to SLI them.

My first question:
Is it even possible for my to use SLI with ATI cards?

My second question:
If it's possible, will my performance be degraded for mixing them?

My third question:
Can you SLI two different cards? I have an Radeon x1650 Pro and a Radeon HD 2600XT.

And my last question:
Will my 2600XT have to step down to meet my x1650?

Thanks much, guys!

Hello,

I recently installed Win 7 Enterprise 64 bit on new setup and I'm quite happy with performance. I noticed however slight but quite annoying screen flickering, especially when reproducing dark shaded colours. It looks more like some interference, but I think it's not supposed to happen. I installed recent NVIDIA driver (191.07) but the problem persists.

Here's my configuration:

AMD Athlon II X2 250
ASUS M4N78 PRO
NVIDIA 8300 on board
WD 15EADS
Seasonic 430W
Scythe Shuriken Big Cooler
Silverstone Lascala LC17
AOC LCD 17" Screen

Any ideas for solving the issue?

Thanx in advance

Hi.

I don't know about your monitor(s) but if they are dvi capable with a port for it, use dvi cable(s) to connect to the graphics card.

Hi all,

Has been a long long time since i've returned to these forums, but i've always got the best advice and info from u guys!

Basically, i am getting confused with the hype of Physx and dedicating a GPU to act fully on Physx.

I have an intel chipset P35 Asus P5KE-E mobo which will support crossfire etc but i am sticking with Nvidia. I currently have a 9600 GT overclocked and want to upgrade to a 280 gtx. Can i whack the 9600 gt into the second (x4) pci express port and dedicate the whole card to physx whilst having the 280 in the pci-e x16 slot??

I'm sure i have read that this is possible but knowing my luck, it has to be in an sli capable mobo?!

Thanks in advance

Jonny

A:2 Nvidia Cards on non-sli board (for physx?)

it has to be SLI because ATI and nVidia uses different i think technologies and it works on a different basis
but there is a mobo which will be coming out that supports both Crossfire and SLI
i think intel will do it but i cant remember what model it will be :S

its really dirty i mean i cant even get the board dust out its like stuck to it hard any way like liquid something to get it out?

A:Found a Nvidia GT 218 or 210 or something how to clean the board!

Right here: https://www.radioshack.com/precision...l#.VHFZEGchCCg
Literally... you spray this stuff onto your circuit boards and use the brush to scrub dirt and dust off. Follow the instructions on the can to the letter!
I used this stuff on a Pioneer stereo receiver that had been used in a guy's garage and was coated with years of sawdust, and then left out on the curb in a rain shower. After using this stuff as directed, that receiver worked just fine and lasted me another six years.

Your card might only support one monitor.
If it supports 2 monitors then you can only use the HDMI with VGA connected.

I personally think you'd be better off getting a Geforce 8400GS, or ATi HD4350, or Geforce 210GT for that kind of money. I've no idea which is better of the three, but they're all under 50 bucks.

I would have recommended the HD4670 if it wasn't over 100 bucks, which is shocking given the price I paid for it here in the UK a year ago!

Hi there,

Tried in vain to find an answer to this one.

I have heard that maybe some versions of Windows 7, such as Starter or Home Basic, will not permit the automatic switching to a stand alone graphic card (Nvidia or ATI Radeon).

I wish to find out if this is correct and if so, which versions are restricted? I use Photoshop and play HD video files up to 2GB in size, so I want to ensure switching is performed for improved graphical performance. Based on this finding, I can then decide what O/S to buy with a new laptop I'm about to purchase.

Thank you,
Pete

A:Which 7 works when switching from Intel on board to Nvidia/ATI gfx?

There is no such restriction. It is a function of the hardware and drivers. But really why would you chose to use Starter or Basic in the first place? That would make no sense. Home Premium should be the lowest version you should go for.

US Dollars? Paid a little too much.

The case (if complete with fans) is about $150, the PSU - if its the generic 420watt PSU is about $20.

The board is about $120~130.

You only need the 400mhz DDR (3200) is if youre using an AMD3200.

I'd get the ASUS board, which is reviewed on the bottom of that page.... (BTW: the AGP warning light DOES come in handy... but its rare). notice its heatsink is bigger. Or to save a few bucks, get the MSI... also a very good design.

That Thermaltake case is very well built, but it has some issues, check it out here: http://ap.terrabox.com/rpc

Different front, same guts and problems.... but its an awsome case.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer.

Have you tried booting into your computer's BIOS setup utility and change the settings for your on-board and add-on card?

I do not know what motherboard you have since you did not include that information, so I can not say exactly how your BIOS is designed for menu options, but you might want to do some investigating in your BIOS to make those changes stick once your operating system takes over the boot process.

Should there be any problem using nVIDIA nforce4 drivers from their website on an ASUS A8N-E board with the nvidia nforce4 ultra chipset? Is there any advantage to using the nvidia drivers, if possible? Or are the ASUS ones good enough? Installing from ASUS drivers seems to be just running nVIDIA install files but the version numbering appears to be different... what the deal?

A:Using nVIDIA chipset drivers on ASUS board

Yes you can use the NForce4 drivers from the Nvidia website instead of the ASUS provided ones. One possible advantage is that the Nvidia provided drivers are the latest and may include new performance tweaks and compatibility fixes.

Asus in many cases uses their own numbering scheme. Its best to go by date. Sometimes ASUS makes small tweaks of their own to the drivers, like putting in their own logo, but the driver is basically the same one that NVidia released, although like I said before it might be an older version of the driver.

This process seems pretty straightforward, but nothing's working.

We have built a brand new system with an Nvidia 7300 (128 MB DDR2) and want to use a Sony big screen as a monitor (Model # KDF60WF655). We've got the regular monitor hooked up to the VGA side of the video card, and and the TV is connected via a DVI to HDMI cable.

This is plugged into the HDMI port in the back of the TV. The sound is connected via a mini-RCA cable.

The monitor is set as the primary display.

We've cycled through all the video inputs on the TV, and nothing shows on the screen.

Any ideas?

So I recently bought a new computer. I was using the GTS 450 on the old one no problem not even a month ago. I have attempted to install it on my new pc. Switched out to a Thermaltake TR2 600W PSU which is operating just fine. I placed the video card into the primary pci slot and powered it with the 6-pin connector. Put everything back together and started her up. PC turns on fine, with even the fan going on the video card. But no video output. I'm stuck. What can I do? The drivers won't install themselves without the hardware.

If you have visual does the new gpu been recognized in the device manager.
Sometimes the integrated gpu is not automaticcaly disabled when you install a new gpu and you must disable the integrated gpu manually in the bios.

There should be a Firewire (otherwise called IEEE 1394 or DV Link) port on the camera, it looks like a mini USB port. Using a Firewire cable, connect this port to the Firewire port on your laptop or PC. If your PC has no Firewire port, you can add one by buying a PCI Firewire card.

I have the option of using either VGA or DVI to either monitor, so I can use a video card that has dual VGA/DVI outputs. Or, I can buy a separate PCI video card. Right now I have an ATI All-in-Wonder 7500.

Am I better off to get a new video card with dual monitor output or have two separate video cards. If the former, what video cards do you recommend? I know I've seen recommendations for the 9600 Pro, which seems to have dropped significantly in price? I'd like to stay with ATI as I've always used that.

mkay, so im just chilling playing minesweeper and listening to tunes on my vista laptop (hp) while installing L4D via steam (had the cd and used the key...still amzes me how i cant install of the disc...) and the sound cuts out....i shrug a little at this and poke over to the sound and volume icon thinger, levels were all good and nothing muted...i try a diffrent song, nothing... i go back to sound settings (right click playback divices) to see WTF is up.

and lo and behold i see the supposed problem
the speakers (conexant High Definition Audio) seem mkay nice little green check mark

but
my Nivida HDMI output is labeled unplugged....which is funny becuse i didnt unplug anything...tried updateing...nuthin tryeed rolling back...jack squat

HALP!

Note: sound drive works...i can get sound through headphones. and it doesnt seem to be the speakers.

LG 4K tv 43uh610v i get no signal from hdmi output until login screen.Blank screen means i cant get into my bios or boot to disks. To do this i have to connect to my old 1080p TV which works .My card is Nvidia gtx 950.

By accident discovered that turning off secure boot fixes the problem.Would rather turn it back on ,so does anyone know
another fix for this that doesnt involve disabling secure boot? Is it safe to keep it off.

Is there are any video splitter , preferebly free which keeps the output video size same as original video size. I have tried some but in the end, they convert/re-encoding the splitted video and the output video becomes large. If anyone knows a video splitter as I stated, please advise.

I have a Gigabyte GA-K8NS mb and need to upgrade my video card. I am considering an Nvidia 6800GT video card but not sure if I can even use it.

A:Solved: Can I use the Nvidia 6800 series cards on a socket 754 board?

Yeah you can run it. Just order the card you need, ie PCIE or AGP. I figure you need an AGP card but I ain't sure. Make sure your PSU is up to the task also.

Hi,

At the moment I run dual display through VGA, one is monitor, one is the laptop screen. However, I'm looking to use an additional monitor on top of this. I know I have an NVIDIA video card, and onboard Intel graphics. Are both of these being currently used to run a dual-display setup, or not? And would there be a way I could run 3 displays (2 externals + laptop) based on what I have in my system?
Running WIN7 64bit if that helps.
If you require more info to answer my question just ask.
Thanks,
Chris

ok heres the deal, i got a cheap-o pci-e card to put in my box so i can run it into my tv. the problem is that i need to use my on board video as well for my monitor is there settings or something out there i can change to make this work, because when i just hook them up i get no video on ither monitor or tv.

A:runing on board video and video card in my pci-e slot

It can only be one of the two enabled at a time. For most systems, as soon as you put the pci-card in the slot, it disables the on board video.

Well i got nvidia evga 8800 gts 320 mb i went to nvidia.com and got the newest drivers which are 7.15.11.5824 and i went to evga and seen they have 158.45 should i go there and download theres or stick with these?

A:Question about nvidia drivers and evga drivers

Why not try both... I doubt that it makes a lick of difference. The first one that dosn't give you the blue screen of death is the one to use.

A:can my system handle the eVGA Geforce 6800GS 256-P2-N386 Video Card - Retail

Yes your motherboard could run it, yes it is a good card, yes you will need a new psu (I suggest the Antec TruepowerII 550) and yes, you need more ram. You have enough ram to run all of the modern games, but only in lower settings. If that's ok, then get the card and a psu.
