yea I am trying to make a list of my music library which is setup so that 1 folder=1 album so I am trying to take these 500 folders or whatever and somehow copy just the name of it to something like word, or excel or something...so I can make a list of them to send to other people, print or whatever...I tried to copy and paste them to word, excel, wordpad, notepad, and I just tried to click and drag them to those programs but no luck...and yes I realize I could type them all out but that's a little too much like work... here's an example of how I have this all set up http://img172.imageshack.us/my.php?image=music2mm.jpg
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
From a command prompt go to the directory where all these folders exist.
Type: dir > list.txt
the list.txt file should have all the directory names for you. It'll also have couple of extra lines you might want to remove for current directory and parent directory.
Hi, could you help me make my computer as cold as possible, as it's overclocking friendly, and I plan to keep it for a while. Budget isn't that limited, maybe 150-200$ Newegg/NCIX (Canada) direct links welcome.
My current case: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc..._re=rosewill_blackhawk-_-11-147-107-_-Product My current heat sink: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
Hopefully I didn't invested in a bad case? Are the Rosewill fans that came with the case good enough, or should I replace them? (I want to have the maximum number, namely 10)
Other specs: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
Intel i7 4930 G.Skill 16GB DDR3 2x Gigabyte GTX 980 4GB 750W Rosewill PSU
You present several areas of question...
I would suspect that you will want to replace the Rosewill fans with quality fans.
I would choose to do this after they begin failing.
Others will disagree with me, some perhaps strongly.
Here is a discussion of case fans and bearing types.
Here is another on "which are best".
As far as best options for overclocking...
IF you are comfortable with case-modding,
then it is possible to use CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance.
This will give you liquid cooling for your cpu.
HOWEVER, you will need to heavily modify the top of your case.
There are at least two approaches illustrated on youtube,
one using snips, and the other using a pneumatic saw/grinding tool.
There may be more.
If you wish to do a push pull configuration, (recommended by some here),
that will take a little more modding,
and possibly replacing the Corsair fans with slimline.
If you intend to add additional graphics,
then you may want to consider further cooling options...
This page links to discussions of Air Cooling as well as Water Cooling.
This gives a starting point for more discussion,
and others I expect will weigh in with their experience.
I am getting a clicking noise, but it is purely audio based, I have razer kraken pro 7.1's, and a stereo with a headphone jack conector and the harman Kardon speakers that came on my laptop. No matter which audio out put I choose, it still makes this almost metronome clicking.
I checked a lot of different settings, but cant find anything wrong?
Does anyone have any ideas what it is?
Please let me know if you have had or are having a similar problem.
Could be a failing hard drive...
Hey guys, I am going on holiday in early June and am looking for a way to listen to music while I'm in the pool as I plan to spend a lot of time doing so.
The way I can see it is that I have two options:
Buy a waterproof case and waterproof headphones
buy a waterproof MP3 player all-in-one.
Obviously each option has it's flaws - otherwise I wouldn't be there.
Even if I buy a waterproof case how can I be sure that even though there is a waterproof case, where it contacts with waterproof earphones will be waterproof as 'waterproof' to some sellers just means rain-proof.
The problem with the all in ones like the Sony Waterproof Walkman is that they are very expensive for very little space, the 4GB alone being £50 and 8GB is £80.
Does anyone have experience in the matter, anything they can recommend, preferably I'd like to use my phone in a case for my 32GB MicroSD card, but whatever works I guess.
:big grin: My wife JUST purchase a waterproofed iPad Shuffle from waterfi.com
website is very descriptive and the device is AS Advertised - - she's very happy with it
When I play windows media player or any other mp3 player my pc begins to slow down a lot and mouse stutters and my internet webpage closes :/ any help please?
I've posted my IRQ
What are your system specs?
Some possible solutions: Make sure Windows is up to date. Try updating your sound driver (post your system specs and I will show you how to).
I have a USB 2.5 external HDD that I want to use with my Xbox 360 to play original Xbox games.
An emulator is required to play original Xbox games and the 360 will download this etc. for you with an Xbox 360 that has an internal HDD.
Mine is only a 4GB internal HDD so will not perform this function!
Can anyone help me make the external USB HDD perform this function???
360 isn't backwards compatible with Xbox games. Since you have digital copies of the game, we can't be sure you actually own a legit copy. So, we can't help you sorry.
But, you can use this to format external drive for your 360.
I am just trying to come to grips with possibilities using my new Asus Xonar DG Soundcard.
It's a well reviewed but low cost card @ $28 & I selected it to replace my failed on-board Card.
So I now have my desktop amplified speakers set up, but they are budget variety & somewhat limited, although I do not expect or need high volume.
I happen to have several small (ex car) amps, & several pairs of reasonably sized reasonable quality speakers, so I thought "what about a 4 speaker set up"?
Is this possible & how can it be wired up?
If done this way should I hook up a double gang log pot to control volume rather than use the on screen slide control which is not that easy when you are doing other things.
There should be a 'speaker fill' checkbox or similar in your audio manager.
Alternatively, you can use a splitter to split the L/R audio between the front jack and rear jack, giving you the same sound coming from the four speakers.
Or, you may find that it's annoying....

Hey guys, I've recently ordered a new PC and it should be here in a week. I'm a gamer and I like to write music and will finally be able to record with my new system. I'm just lacking a sound card. So basically I'm looking for a card that will be awesome for gaming and music. Any suggestions out there? I know I will need a PCI-E card. I'm looking to spend $150-200. Any help would be much appreciated
This is probably the best one out there: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132010
That is the best of both worlds. There is a better card for gaming, but the Essence above is much better for creating music and phenomenal for gaming.
I have two Western Digital Tb HD making data Problem copy connection to adhoc HD s which I use for archiving and are carbon copies of Problem making adhoc HD connection to copy data each other and my third installed OS HD They are both external to my computer in fact one came as part of a WD My Book Previously I had my Asus P Q Deluxe fitted and I could just plug the two HD s into the PSU with a spare power cable and connect them to the mobo with a couple of Sata cables and copy any data from the main installed HD or replicate data between them No problem However due to RAM issues I have swapped the mobo out for my Asus P W DH Deluxe I just assumed I could go ahead with my adhoc method of plug and play HD connectivity but after shutting down my desktop wiring in just one archive HD and powering up the computer went a Problem making adhoc HD connection to copy data bit funny All the icons had shifted over to my TV display next to my desktop while my monitor s desktop pic got squashed vertically with vertical letterbox lines left and right pretty much as though I had been messing with the AMD Problem making adhoc HD connection to copy data Catalyst Control Centre Any ideas why plugging in an HD or two into the spare Sata EZ Raid sockets would cause this Why didn t it behave like P Q e g plug amp play style or as if I had simply plugged in the HD via the USB One thing I forgot to check was if the HD showed up in My Computer while the icons and what not were on the TV screen Tom nbsp
Nevermind. I plugged the two archive HD's into the mobo today and all is fine and copying perfectly.
CPU makes a weird noise as if plane is taking off and goes on making it even after it been booted? And once rebooted it just freezes but the noise is still there? Can any someone please help?
It is not the CPU, it is the CPU's cooling fan. What are this computers make and model?
Hi, I am building a computer for the first time. But i would like some tips. I have already chosen some parts:
Cooler Master full tower. Model:RC-932-KKN5-GP Product code on Newegg: N82E16811119160
Cpu: Intel I7 Quad core Sandy Bridge Processor 95W. 3,4 Ghz (3.8 Ghz with Turbo Boost) Model:BX80623I72600 Product code on Newegg:N82E16819115071
I am planning on building a strong pc for high end gaming but i am not sure on what kiond of parts I should choose. First of all are these good parts and would you recommend any other full towers. Also I do not know much about gpu's and would you recommend any of those for me. Also what tools do i need for a pc once i build it other than a screwdriver and do you have any tips for building them? Thanks in advanced.
Knowing your budget and location (I presume US since you mentioned Newegg) would be excellent.
Do you want a silent-and-sleek build? or a more in-your-face gaming rig?
How much storage do you think you'll need? there's no point in adding a 3TB HDD if you'll never fill it.
Do you need a display to go with your new build? how about other accessories?
Will you also be using your PC on workstation tasks such as media encoding, 3D modelling, image editing?
Regarding your suggestions, the Cooler Master HAF 932 is a very good case, but a bit on the expensive side (depends on your budget).
Here are some alternatives:
- you might like this one.
- this one
- or this one
It all depends if you demand excellent cooling or quiet computing.
The i7 2600 is a powerful CPU, but expensive and not exactly the best one Intel has.
Depending on your budget, you might want a Sandy Bridge-E CPU (supports quad-channel RAM) which will offer the best performance you can get or a Sandy Bridge i5 2500K which offers the best bang for the buck atm.
We TechSpotters know quite a bit about GPUs and will help you choose the one that suits your needs. :grinthumb
But we really need to know your budget.
This is a very good and comprehensive up-to-date guide to assembling a modern PC.
PS: TechSpot's buying guide is an excellent read as well.
I am trying to get the wifi access point list nearby.I am using iwlist command but the result different each time each time I get the different list. Can anyone tell that what is the reason behind that as I think that while sitting at the same place result of iwlist should be same.

Ooo yes I am using ubuntu linux.
I want to change the drive letter of my memory card, which shows up and is usable from My Computer but is not listed on disk management. I'm running Windows XP SP3 on a dell vostro 1400. Is there any reason for this? The card is a Canon SD Memory Card SDC-16M
Put in a memory card that the computer DOES see in disk management, change the drive letter, then put in other card & see if the computer can see it then. I really don't think changing drive letters is going to allow you to see a memory card, most likely it's dead, but it's worth a shot. Hope this helps, take care!
so im going to build my first gaming computer soon, and I have selected a list of parts. but I am very afraid of them not being compatible, and waste my money. here is my list:
motherboard: asus P8Z77-V pro Z77 S-1155 ATX IVY
procesor: intel core i7 3770K 3,5hz 8mb s-1155 IVY
graphics card: asus geforce gtx 570 directcu II 1280mb pci-e dvi/hdmi
harddrive: seagate barracuda 2TB 7200rpm sata/600 64mb
powersupply: corsair hx 750w atx12v 2.2 / eps12v
RAM: corsair 8gb ddr3 vengeance l pc3.12800 1600mpz cl9 (2X4GB)
dont think the other stuff is important, but if is it, tell me to write it in.
Looks good to me.
I'm making a little, mains powered, fan bank for under my laptop.
I've bought 2, 12V 0.2A 12cm fans and have an old 19V 2A laptop charger.
Is this too big a power supply?
I've never built anything like this before but I think I'll manage.
I'll be connecting the fans in parrallel.
If you are unsuccessful with your attempt to build your own laptop cooling stand, or you build it and it's not up to par with what you wanted, might I suggest a pretty good one, it's already built for you as well.
Syba 15 inch to 17 inch laptop cooling riser stand....
This is the same one I've used for about 3-4 years now, it keeps my system pretty cool and hasn't let me down yet!
Good luck to you, if you do get it built do us a favor and take a photo of it and post it, I'm curious to what the end result will look like!

It appears your hard drive is dead or damaged. Install a new hard drive, and run your reinstall. You should have no problems. But count on a long time for downloading updates using Microsoft Update.
One thing for sure, you need more memory for that Dell D600... I would put in 2 GB of Put in the largest drive you can afford. Be sure that your drive is either a SATA or an EIDE drive before you order a new one. As you probably know, that system has two memory slots for DDR PC2700. My suggestion would be to get two modules of 1 GB each... which will cost you about $35 to $40 per module, depending on where you buy them.
Because of the destruction of the hard drive factories in Thailand, laptop memory is priced very high right now... you will pay closer to $100 or more, rather than your hoped for $60.
You can get a copy of the Dell Windows CD by calling Dell or going on line... usually free... If you still have the Windows Sticker product ID on the computer. Or they are $20 on eBay.
Hey, everyone. Last night I passed out with my laptop on my bed while burning a DVD and the laptop must have slipped off. The drop is a little over a foot onto a carpeted floor. I woke up this morning to discover it on the floor, unplugged. I plugged it back in and upon starting it up, I heard a loud fluttering sound. I attempted ejecting the disc and it made the same sound and opened the disc tray. I tried to play other discs in the drive, but none work. The drive is still recognized by the computer, but it just doesn't recognize that any discs are being inserted. Every time the disc drive is being used (ejecting, attempting to read, etc), it makes the loud, fluttering sound. Thanks for any help you guys can give.
The drive was running when the laptop slid off the bed. The DVD drive was damaged but it can be replaced easily if you are lucky enough for that to be the only problem
I making protected on Virus it write drive pen have gb pendrive it is infected with some virus which is making it write protected amp unable to use it I am unable to format it so far i have to tried different things Tried formatting it on linux Tried different tools like neo hddformatter jetflash hpusbtool amp a few more There is another way of changing registry values in HKEY LOCAL MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Contro StorageDevicePolicies but i am unable to find that registry key using win bit ultimate Tried antivirus it detects the threat but unable to clear it out Tried cmd amp then a variety of methods to format partition but no use Also tried computer management with same message quot the drive is write protected quot Now i have run out of options but i am amazed how none of the above methods have worked Virus on pen drive making it write protected already spent hours searching for a solution but unable Virus on pen drive making it write protected to find one Please someone help me i want my pen drive back nbsp
A bit difficult for me to fathom this being a virus issue if even formatting it in linux isn't possible. Are you sure it's not as simple as a lock switch toggled on?
Having dredged the internet, I came across this forum amongst the many with questions relating to cd drives working but dvd not etc, but my issue is slightly different, i think.
CDs seem to play ok, and so do DVDs, but I seem to have a problem with my laptop reading a disc with DS games on it that it used to read no problem. The discs can be used in my other half's laptop, so it is clearly a problem with my laptop.
I'd appreciate if anyone could advise where I can start to solve this problem
You need to have the CD/DVD drive replaced. Internal lasers fail in strange ways. The drives are not too expensive and they are easy to replace
Hey guys.. Last night my computer started making an incredibly loud buzzing sound but as it was late and I was about to go to sleep, I turned it off and hoped it would be OK in the morning. This morning I turned it on to find it is just as bad as last night and discovered it is coming from my Graphics Card, any ideas on how to fix this?
I'm pretty terrible when it comes to this kinda thing so any help would be much appreciated!
Your graphics card has likely reached the end of its useful product life... if it is over a year old... or if it has been over-driven a lot. It will likely be important to tell us more about your system... power supply, motherboard, cpu cooling... along with brand names and models.
As a part time DJ i spend a lot of time playing the same laptop a Recording music from music in the same order so i was thinking what if i Recording music from a laptop could just sit down and record the tracks that i play Recording music from a laptop directly into one Recording music from a laptop big MP and then it would save me having to load and cue each track I use a program called ClubDJ Pro its a twin deck system with a predefined playlist i can usually just load a playlist and tell it to cross fade during the last quot X quot seconds of the song X being a set time between and seconds However i find some songs have an extended silence at the end that can when i first played them mess up the auto cross fade facility and as anyone will tell you silence is deadly when your doing DJ ing So is there a program i can use to either record directly from my program or use another PC or laptop to record onto i assume i would use the earphone out on one to the Line In socket on the other PC Laptop and then record onto that It would be good as it then means i can use different mixes of my own nbsp
you might use WavePad Sound Editor to remove the trailing silence
My speakers are Logitech Surround Speaker Z506 and motherboard gigabyte z68x-ud5-b3.
I havent got a soundcard but I'm wondering why i cant use 5.1? and what sort of plugins/codecs i need for it? it used to work for my old machine using realtek HD and all 5 speakers work but for some reason my newer machine doesnt work, anyone can help or lead me to find a solution?
What media player are you using and does it support Dolby 5.1?
a mate of mine dropped his laptop (acer travelmate 8372) from about 1.4m height, and it makes really really loud buzzing crackling noises. is it the busted hard drive? or is something electric in the laptop about to explode?
Such a noise could be a number of things, is it still booting up to the desktop?
I guess from your description that the noise is coming from the speakers, if you could just confirm that.
My CPU fan is making noises at regular intervals. I checked with Speedfan and when the fan was making noise, it was spinning at 6000 rpm instead of normal 3400 rpm.
Even while using Internet Explorer, it is making noises and the temperatures from speedfan are in this image.
My PC configuration:-
AMD Phenom X2 550
Mobo - Asus M4N68T-M
2GB DDR3 RAM
XFX Nvidia 9600GT
Help me guys! This noise is forcing me to jump out of the window coz I can't throw my PC! Mom would kill me for that
Thanks in advance
hi theparanoid04 :
go to bios then go to H\W monitor and enable cpu smart fan target and set it to 50c.
Looking for the best headphones for gaming and music... Noise canceling preferred so I can use them in a work environment also. Planning on spending no more than $100. Don't need a mic I can just use a separate one.
What do you guys think?
I'm considering using a few more dollars to get the Audio-Technica ATH-A700's, hmm what do you guys think.
Hi all my psu is NEW 750w 750 watt Quiet PC ATX PSU Power Supply Unit . i got is few months back but only 45 day warranty .. when i turn on pc funny noise from psu like fan rubbing or something , so i turn pc off and on few times and the noise goes but i dont want to keep doing that could anyone help with problem or do i need new psu.. thanks
Are you 100% certain that the source of the noise is the PSU? If it's coming from the PSU fan I would start by first cleaning it.
If there is no dust at all I would be worried about any noise emanating from the PSU.
(Title was meant to be NAS HD, i blame the keyboard )
The Lan port on my NAS hard drive recently broke and therefore i have turned this into an internal hard drive.
In doing so i have now plugged it into my computer and changed the bios so that it still boots to my main hard drive. The computer recognises the device but it cannot read it. All the partitions on it are "empty".
A friend of mine told me that i need t download some software so that windows recognises this, but didn't say what! (helpful i know!)
Any help would be much appreciated.
- It was a WD network 1TB hard-drive
- I am running windows 7 64bit
- I am hoping i do not need to reformat as it has important docs on it.
state make/model of the original NAS. I fear it had a RAID-X configuration .....
Im not very good with computers, I only really know how to turn it on and type.
I got a HP Pavilion dv4 1465dx notebook last year. The RAM is 4.00 GB, and the Harddrive is 194GB free of 286 GB. It uses Windows Vista.
My sister has all of Sims2 games and expansions.
I always try and diskcleanup and get rid of unneccessary things when I can, but ive always wanted to play games with my friends but couldnt since I got it and BEFORE my sis put sims on it. Often I feel like my older desktop is faster than this.
I was wondering if there was anything I can do? When i googled many people said 4.00 GB RAM was enough to play games so im not really sure why its so slow.
Download and run free Surperantispyware and tell us what it finds. What antivirus program is installed?
hello everyone i have an hp pavillion dv2401pu yesterday when i tried i switch on it ,then after somtime of opening it started making funny sound and the opening process countinued up to windows starting window, then it shut down.............pls someone help me....sorry to mention it before that my laptop is 3 year old.
As a guess it could be your CPU fan that was making a noise due to malfunction and that caused the CPU to overheat and thus it shut down.
Can you describe what the "funny sound" actually sounded like, was it a click, a squeek or something else, try and put it in words as best you can and compare it with something similar that I can relate to.
DMA is enabled...
The sound is synced to the voices, but the music seems to be playing slowly. Like in slow motion.
Have tried playing with several different audio players... VLC (VLC default codecs) and k-lite codecs as well...

Looks good. Excellent power supply. The motherboard is a good overclocker. Keep in mind that running dual cards will run at 8:8 and not 16. In order to get PCI-e 16 you can have only one card installed.
As for sound I say just try onboard first but if you want really good sound cards look especially at HT Omega's offerings. Also, seriously look into Asus' Xonar series as well.
I think you have a very nice system there.
Okay, soo my computer's memory is full and I want to clean it out. I was wondering if it's possible to export my itunes library on a 1TB external hard drive, delete all the music off the computer than be able to sync my ipod while my hard drive is plugged in. Thanks
I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with vista and every time i try to play a song from my external hdd i get an error message that says "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set associations control panel.
This is the normal instruction for setting up a file association.
1. Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button, typing "default programs" and then clicking Default Programs in the pop up list.
2. Click on Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
This opens a list of extensions.
3. Choose the extension of the files that you wish to open then click on change program button.
4. Select the program you wish to associate the file with and click Ok.

Hello everyone I m having an issue with my desktop computer HP Pavilion p y that I m hoping you can help me with To give you a brief background I bought this computer last February Computer is issue?) "revving" a making noise (fan About a month after purchasing it I Computer is making a "revving" noise (fan issue?) had a third-party graphics card installed by a local technician The computer ran fine up until last month January At that time I got the quot blue screen of death quot I took it to the technician who previously installed the video card He initially diagnosed the problem as a RAM issue and then changed his assessment to it being a hard drive problem But even after he bought and installed a new hard drive the problem was not resolved At this point I sent the computer to HP for repair it was still under warranty They replaced both the motherboard and hard drive the tech swapped the original hard drive back in prior to me sending it to HP and sent the computer back to me However the paperwork that they sent back indicated that the third-party video card was the source of my problems and they advised removing it Because I do not have the necessary expertise to remove the video card I took it back to the local technician He indicated to me that the video card was NOT the problem and he said that the computer was running just fine with it installed At this time he added the new hard drive the one that he had me buy prior to the unit being shipped to HP to the computer so I now have two TB hard drives installed I was a little bit concerned about the video card but decided to take the local technician s word that it was running okay About a week later the computer fan started running very loudly every minutes or so It would run hard four about - seconds before returning to normal I have SpeedFan installed and it indicated that quot Fan quot was going from around RPM to up to around RPM Once again I called the local technician and asked him to look into this While waiting for him to respond to me I got online and discovered that the minimum power requirement for my video card was a watt power supply but that my computer had only a watt power supply When the technician got back to me I brought the power supply issue to his attention At that time he indicated that the best fix would be to remove the external video card and simply rely on the video card that is integrated into the computer s mother board He came over to my house and removed the video card the next day Shortly after the technician departed I began to notice an odd sound It was not very loud in fact you don t really even notice it if you have other background noise but it was definitely noticeable I guess I would call the sound a quot revving quot noise It is occurring every seconds or so and it lasts only - seconds The noise is occurring regardless of what I am doing on the computer and even if it is just sitting idle My gut feeling is that the revving noise is coming from one of the computer fans Once again I ran Speedfan and I am seeing that quot Fan quot is occasionally going from around RPM to around RPM That said the readings that Speedfan is providing do no sync up exactly with the noise that I am hearing My next step was to remove the side panel from the computer to see if I could isolate where the noise is coming from Even with my ear right up to the machine with the panel removed I honestly cannot tell from which component it is coming from While I had the panel off I did go ahead and spray some air into the computer to clean out the dust as I ve heard that if dust accumulates on the fans or in the heat sink it can produce the quot revving quot effect that I m experiencing However this has made no impact I ve also kept an eye on the lights near the top of the tower to see if they blink or flicker when I hear the noise which to me would indicate that the noise I m hearing is the result of data being written to the hard drive But there ... I used to 'lubricate' my fan and voila, it runs quieter until I can hear my HDD crunching clearly. but I don't suggest it, since it doesn't always brought success.
However I'm pretty confident what you need is a new set of fan. The problem would be identifying which fan causes the noise. Either CPU fan, chassis fan or even the power supply fan.
If I were you I would open my case side door and see what's inside, maybe snap a picture. and then first try to disconnect the chassis fan, since it's the easiest and cheapest to replace. Don't forget to disconnect all power supplies before opening the side door.
I purchased a refurbished HP blank DVD-R on music not 11 Windows Player will Media burn DC Core Windows Media Player 11 will not burn music on blank DVD-R Duo E GHz with a DVD -RW drive I am able to write music to a blank DVD-R using ImgBurn but Windows Media Player and will only write to a blank CD-R It will playback the DVD-R that I create on ImgBurn The DVD Device is HL-DT-ST Windows Media Player 11 will not burn music on blank DVD-R DVD RAM GH L The Operating System is XP Pro I had to purchase a DVD Decoder from Roxio in order to play a DVD movie in Windows Windows Media Player 11 will not burn music on blank DVD-R Media Player Is there something else that I need to purchase to write music on a blank DVD-R Or is there some setting that needs to be changed Someone suggested that WMP does not write to DVD-Rs but I have WMP on a PC with Vista and it writes to a blank DVD-R with no problem I wrote to the DVD-R on the Vista PC and I was able to read it on the XP Pro PC I just cannot write it on the XP Pro According to Microsoft WMP is supposed to write an audio file to a Data Disk nbsp
1. I would check current firmware version for the DVD and look for a firmware update
> Use Nero Infotool to see current drive info incl. firmversion and look if updates available
2. See if this might apply CD/DVD or Disk Problems? How to Fix Problems Caused by Filters
3. You might also try a DVD+R disc

Could anyone please tell me if this is a good list for parts...?
i was watching some videos online and i tried to mute sounds from all the other stuff i was using at the tim and now i go back to my spotify and its says it cant play music because there is a problem with the sound card what do i do?
Can you take a screen shot of the actual error message and post it? You might just have to re-install the sound card driver, but who knows you haven't given enough info yet to give you a good answer.
This is my first time posting so bear with me please. My 70 yr old mom has an eMachine T2240 with a Celeron 2.2G processor. I can't seem to find any way to identify the motherboard so I can upgrade the processor to something remotely modern. If anyone would know of any duo core that may work or how I could find the mobo identification I would greatly appreciate it. I spent 15 minutes in an online chat with eMachine support just to have them tell me I shouldn't change anything because it might cause issues! I guess they need to sell more computers. Thanks for any input.
Should be about right.
None of the processors there are going to be much better, and replacing the processor won't even help much. Aside from that, it would be somewhat hard to find one.
This will probably seem strange to some out there but I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem I just installed a Samsung Spinpoint Spinpoint F3 me ill drive--making feel TB hard Samsung 1 F TB hard drive and as soon as I turned the computer on I began to feel quite strange It is almost like a headache particularly in my head but really over my whole body A weird almost numby achey strong feeling--really the quot strong quot part is most descriptive--like what you would imagine from a magnetic pull I don t really have the words to describe it properly I am guessing that it Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB hard drive--making me feel ill is the EMF from the drive I have had similar problems using a Compaq s laptop which I am writing on now Once I removed the wireless card I couldn t just turn off the wireless I had to remove the card things were much better and generally I can use the laptop The hard drive though is another story Obviously I could remove it but then I am out plus all the labor putting it in and formatting it One site I looked at Computers for the Electrically Sensitive said that some drives may have more powerful voice coils for positioning I don t really know what that is but if there is some way to adjust things perhaps that is a solution I am wondering if there is a way to find out the strength of the voice coil in a hard drive or how much emf the hard drive is putting out--before I buy it Does anyone know Another site mentioned that adding more and more devices will sometimes lead to quot too much quot EMF When I disconnected my other hard drive from the computer that helped just ever so slightly Does anyone know of any materials that will block out EMF There are claims for some materials but I don t know that I trust claims from websites trying to sell you something Other solution I could try moving my computer very far away from my keyboard and monitor I d prefer not to to do that as these days I need to access USB drives etc pretty frequently and I am not sure how far away I d need to move it Thank you for help or for links to sites that can provide me with more help nbsp
Make sure your motherboard is not touching the case chassic and instead is screwed on properly.
Make sure of all your connection turn off computer and turn off PSU switch.
Wait 10 seconds turn switch on and turn on computer and let us know what happens.

The rest look ok; you don't need an extra PCI-to-USB card, since the mobo comes with enough connectors at the back, which will also be faster IMHO.
Well in the winter I got myself a new PC A month later I picked up an Nividia Galaxy Geforce for the system so I could do some gaming The card is not even a month older than the PC itself which isn t even a year oldm and I m getting this extremely irritating rattle from the fan I ve taken a look and have confirmed that it is indeed that exact fan It s not creating any more vibration which is at least good And I have blown compressed air into it to try and clean it out Still the noise persists It s there anything I can do to get this to stop as it gets even louder than my PC speakers Shutting down a moment and restarting seemed to fix it yesterday but now no such luck and I don t want to shell out more cash for a GPU this soon or worse use the integrated GPU nbsp
It's less than a year old so it should still be under warranty. I would initiate the RMA (return merchandise authorization) process and return it to Galaxy for repair or replacement. You will have to pay for shipping to Galaxy but that's better than buying a whole new card.
My razer deathadder recently died and I couldn't afford another one, so I went for something cheaper
I got the intellimouse 3.0 and i'm not too impressed
I have the pointer speed set on the fastest setting, but when you are moving the pointer around slowly it jerks in increments of of a millimetre or so, and its quite frustrating when gaming, especially in sniper situations
Is there any way to make it smoother?
If you haven't already, install the intellipoint driver. Although the mouse will work using the native Windows driver, you will have fuller use of its capabilities if you install the latest driver.

a couple things, Ram itself is not dual, triple, or any designation. The architecture of the MB/mem controller is. the kits are just sold in pairs and triplicates on the idea that they have been manufactured together, tested and guaranteed to work nice together. Secondly The QVL especially has a 50/50 chance of not being up to date with all of the tested compatible modules. The dual channel version of the ram listed only as triple channel 'kits' will work with the MB and vice versa.
In other words, use 1 or 2 kits of this in the board
Hello. My dell latitude D505 laptop was making a loud winding noise underneath(facing me) the left side closest to the screen. Underneath that location is a fan. Why it was making such a loud winding noise, It sounded similar to an old tape player rewinding a cassette. I don't know but I do know it's never done that before.
Does anyone know what this could be and is it safe to use my computer even though the winding noise stopped? It lasted for at least a few hours, then suddenly stopped.
Is it warm or hot in that location? It's either the HDD or CPU Fan?
If it's the CPU Fan that needs to be replaced.
If it's the HDD then backup your data or clone the HDD as the HDD is starting to go.
Normally if it's the HDD it will make clunking noises.
hey guys, kinda new here so im not sure if this is in the right place, im making a computer, first time soo... anyway! theses are the new comps specs
Case - Element V
Core i7 930
1TB SATAII- x2
SATA Blu-ray Burner
Corsair 8GB 1600 C9
but heres my problem, i have no idea what PSU to get, any help will be GREATLY appreciated so thank you.
it will mostly be use for gaming if thats any help.
That should work just fine.
I m running a PNY Nvidia GeForce graphics card A few days ago a very loud airplane engine-like noise started coming from the inside of my computer fan lot Video of card a noise making case After googling I found that this is a pretty commonly reported issue with this particular card On a hunch I unplugged the card s fan rebooted and the noise stopped so I m sure the card s cooling fan was the culprit There doesn t seem to be any one proven solution for this problem I ve read everything from replacing the fan to oiling the bearings in the existing fan to just unplugging the fan and running the card without it My question may be a stupid Video card fan making a lot of noise one but I was wondering if it would be safe to run this card without the fan I ve got two vacant PCI slots and the tabs on the case are taken off so I think there is sufficient ventilation inside the case I use the card for video editing Video card fan making a lot of noise and light gaming I ve been playing Batman Arkham Asylum lately just as an example So is this safe Or Video card fan making a lot of noise should I replace the fan nbsp
Risky. Sometimes it is impossible to watch over the temperatures fast enough to prevent damage... If the fan was not needed, they wouldn't use it.
You can replace the fan... Finding a quality replacement is difficult, but the cost if very low... Somewhere between $3.99 and $9.99 depending on where you shop.
Try Directron, TigerDirect, Frys, TechDepot, CDW, PCMall, Newegg, ZipZoomFly, Cyberguys, OutletPC, dcparts, mwave, sourcepartsonline, hddoctor, cdw...
Of course there would be the time delay of a week...
Ok so my PC is practically do? what now making Mobo squealing annoying an I did sound, Brand New Here s the parts Mobo Gigabyte X A-UD R CPU i CPU Cooler Akasa Nero S RAM Corsair GB x GB MHz - - - Platinum Series GPU ASUS HD v GB HDD Samsung F TB PSU Seasonic X- ODD Samsung SH-B L Case Antec This rig is a month old and I ve just noticed the mobo making a squealing sound or is it the chipset northbridge or processor It s right from that area And I can t figure out if it s been happening since day one or just Mobo now making an annoying squealing sound, what did I do? recently but the PC s on the desk right next to my ear I m sure I would have heard it like this before It starts to squeal if I launch iTunes Safari Chrome and on some websites The key thing I think is that I recently kicked the socket switch under my desk whilst watching a movie and a couple of weird things happened when I turned it back on Firstly Gigabyte s DES turned off and when I turned it back on in Windows the application just started to crash Then ATi s Display Driver started to crash over the next few days on occasion when surfing Device Manager currently reports that Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for the GPU Then some of the USB ports stopped responding especially on the Front Panel now they seem to work again I also get feedback through the Audio ports on the Front Panel whether listening to music or not Mobo now making an annoying squealing sound, what did I do? Maybe that was the case from day one I m not sure I recently installed the BD-ROM drive at the top of the case which is right next to the Front Panel cables I don t get this feedback when listening through my speaker system s volume control on my desk Can anyone identify why these things are happening and how I can fix them Appreciate the help nbsp
Take a wooden stick or a pencil eraser and gently push on the heat-sinks around the CPU while the PC is running. See if you can affect the annoying sound that way, and discover it's source
Hi when I bought my PC two years ago it was silent it barely made any noise However I later made a huge mistake I opened the case to clean the inside of the computer with an air compressor but while I was cleaning the fans I wasn t holding them so the air compressor made them spin faster than normal Following that every time I boot my PC now it makes a loud noise and also the PC makes a lot of noise in general A lot more than when I bought it to a point where sleeping next to it when it is turned on is a hard thing to do Now I m wondering if that mistake is the cause of the noise When is loud PC My a making noise I look at the fans they don t seem to be damaged at all I have fans The case fan the graphics card fan and the power supply fan My PC is cleaned regularly so I know it s not dust or anything that s causing the problem Here s some interesting info It only makes noise when it s booting after the computer has been turned off for more than minutes If it s less than that it doesn t make the loud noise I have no idea why Also about of the time the desktop doesn t get to fully load because the computer freezes It s a problem that started at the same time the noise started If it is indeed one or multiple fans that My PC is making a loud noise are broken how can I know which one s is I made a video of when I m booting the computer so you can hear and see what is happening http www youtube com watch v yX fkBh zZE Thanks for reading nbsp
You didn't tell us the brand and model of the computer.
Using an air compressor is very bad, because you risk the damage of static electricity that is generated in amazing amounts. Next time, us canned air designed for use in cleaning computers.
Replace the CPU fan, us buy a new CPU cleaning kit, and any fans that blow air to the outside, and replace the power supply with one of decent quality. Clean the dust of fan blades and computer walls with a soft rag soaked in denatured alcohol. Get some nylon or plastic ties to hold the cables together and away from any fans. Tie down SATA and EIDE cables so they cannot block air or rattle. Make sure all air flow passages are free and allow full movement of cooling air. All these will likely return your computer to normal. You could also buy "silent" cooling fans for very little money which would reduce your noise even more..
Use canned air to get
i need help increasing my fps in a game called Dragonica. looks kinda kiddy but its fun. ok on to details of my comp: i have Vista Home Premium 64, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.5GHz, 8 GB ram ddr3, Nvidia GeForce GT 230 Graphic card, others i have no idea

Tomorrow ill look around for parts, prices, I just realize am better off of building my own unit.
As far as the mobo goes. I would like to get .....

I'm thinking that without gaming ambitions, the new Intel core i3 CPUs might meet your needs with their integrated graphics. These give pretty decent scores in
the Windows Experience Index, something like 4.9 for Areo, and 5.3 for business and gaming graphics. To the best of my knowledge, the matching H55/ H57 Intel chipset motherboards provide Fire Wire input.
You should first subscribe to Newegg's Email list, so you can grab your parts as they become available on sale.
Here is Intel's list of socket LGA1156 CPUs available at Newegg; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...=2010340343 50001157 1051749233&name=LGA 1156
And the matching integrated graphics H55/ H57 boards in the Gigabyte brand; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...01314 1070549182 107173338&name=Intel H55/H57 Be sure to pick one with 4 memory sockets. (4 out or 5 do). I have this one; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128421
Please pay no attention to the bad reviews for this product, they were all written by imbeciles claiming, "high technical ability". I don't know squat about computers, and I had one of these systems up and running perfectly, with Windows 7 installed, in about 3 hours.
In fact, I'm hoping Newegg will offer "don't know squat" as a technical ability claim option. That way, I'll be able to check, "don't know squat", and report, "it works perfectly for me, 5 stars"!
Here is a test report done on a few of these boards at Techspot; http://www.techspot.com/review/259-intel-h55-motherboard-shootout/

Sounds like you are missing some sound codecs, at the very least. Luckily Techspot can provide them for you...
Hope this solves your problem.
I am using power Producer 3.0 to make movie DVDs for the kids.
The movie down load is available in several formats ? avi, mpeg, mp4 etc.
The mp4 files are considerably smaller than the mpeg files.
Power Producer converts the mpeg/mp4 to vob files.
Is the vob quality about the same, whether I use a mpeg or mp4 ?
I would say yes, but the video quality would depend more on your hardware than the video format. You need to keep up with Windows Updates too. If you are still running XP Service Pack 2, update XP to Service Pack 3 and download and install all the other related Windows Updates available
The top fan (the one with 7 fins that's above the CPU cooling fan) is making a groaning noise. I can't figure out how to remove it in order to clean it, though I did spray compressed air on it through the grill on the back of the computer tower.
The computer works fine, software wise, but that groaning sound is scaring the crap out of me and makes me afraid to run the computer for more than five minutes at a time. I've been searching the Internet for even the name of this fan, but to no avail. I even tried searching the manufacturer's part ID number (CN-0Y2682-17972-452-31X1, Rev A01, China).
Does anyone know what this fan is called and/or how I can fix it?
Thanks a million in advance!!!!!
are you talking about the fan at the top here
My favorite music player is "Winamp Media Player"
1. Flash Music Player
2. sidebar music players
3. RealPlayer 10
What is your favorite music player?
i just use itunes, since most of the time I only want to have the music playing the bacground, i don't really care for the download options that it gives or the visualizer.
I have a strange experience with sounds lately I have no come background games of music sound How some different? idea why this happening or what is causing it but here it is How come some background music of games sound different? One day I was doing some light gaming on both my tower and laptop since both my computers meets the minimum requirements and while playing this game I heard some unusual sounds on both How come some background music of games sound different? my laptop and tower my laptop while playing the background music of the game seemed to be missing a couple or not few sound types in the game On my tower it sounded like it had an extra beat as if I could here that extra sound s with the background music playing I can t explain real good but to simplify this my laptop seemed to be lacking of some melody beats while my tower has it all and slightly deeper bass I turned my laptop speakers high yet no extra melody beat appeared I How come some background music of games sound different? did the same with the tower sounded the same as before but just louder I am sure I installed this game on both my computer successfully with no errors I reinstalled it again and same problem occurred I don t understand is the speakers more sensitive on the tower and giving it more variety of sounds or is the laptop speakers not so sensitive in outputting more variety of sounds Or both are wrong and it is just the matter of XP and VISTA or is it the software or drivers installed for the sounds Is something wrong with the speakers Do I need buy better ones Ones that s suppose to act normal nbsp
try updating your sound drivers first, then you might want to look into past problems others might have had with this games sound. Since this happened to both your computers at the same time it sounds like the problem is the game.
A simple test to see if your speakers are broke is just...play music on them. Does it sound fine? yes? then it's not your speakers
unfortunatly without knowing what game it is that you are talking about I can't really look into any problems others have had with it.
Hey guys this is going to be my first computer build i wanted to just no if everything is compatible with each other. i am buying all the parts off newegg and i want everything to run smoothly, i was wondering if you guys could look everything over?
you guys have always been great and i want to thank you in advance!
It may not be the best gaming computer build but i am a junior in high school and dont have that much money lol thanks!
Looks fine, I think you are missing a sound card.
so everytime i make a new file in my flash drive, it puts all this weird stuff inside it i cant delete... see the image for reference. how do i stop the madness!
newbie here, first post. own a PC, so ill be here alot
interestingly enough, when i make a new folder, and DONT rename, so it remains, "New Folder" it donest have all that crap inside.
also, if i DO rename, then unplug, move to another computer, and plug back in, the crap is gone!
zomgbbq whats going on!
Wow mushkin is getting into the ssd market - being a mushkin fan thinking about getting ssd, so do you guys think I should:
Get 2 of 128 for raid 0:
or just get 1 of 256GB and call it a day:
do you really get a bump in speed doing raid 0 with ssd? does it add lanentcy (gaming) to where really a non-raid set up better?
I am running XP/Win7 on my AMD 64 Athlon 3400+ powered Pavillion. I have an integrated Realtek AC'97 audio card and lately I've noticed that all music playback is choppy - whether it's iTunes, Windows Media Player, or Youtube. I've tried different speakers, headphones, etc., but reagrdless of the hardware I use, I still get the same problem. It sounds as if the music is being paused and then played very quickly throughout the song. I don't really notice it in Windows sound effects, but that may be because they are short in length. I notice this happening on both XP and Windows 7 and don't know why.
Try updating your audio and chipset driver. There could also be a program running in the background taking up to much memory or CPU cycles. If you listen to music alot you should get a dedicated sound card. You can get a really good Audigy on Ebay for under $15. Onboard audio is notoriously troublesome. Too many other things in the system can interfere with it.
Bare with me My laptop is making sounds every - seconds from the moment I turn it on Now it all started months ago I was having problems emailing invoices with Quickbooks through Windows Mail with a Yahoo account That turned out to be a problem with Yahoo When I would try to send an invoice it would throw up an error When I would click on the box with the error it would make the sound its making now Its the sound is like the one when you click on the wrong thing or something or when you get an IM sounds Dell Making IM Laptop bling bling I don t know if there is a connecting but that s when it started and it s driving me nuts I ve tried reinstalling Quickbooks and Windows Mail I deleted IM because it Dell Laptop Making IM sounds s the same sound as when you get a message that didn t help I ve went to my tools and turned off anythin that makes sounds that did nt work either HELP nbsphttp://www.techspot.com/community/topics/dell-laptop-making-im-sounds.135943/

You know how you insert to watch a movie or to burn something, you get the typical dvd writer noise when it's in use? Yes, I've been having this problem when I'm NOT using it.. I'm constantly hearing that noise as if it's being used, I open my case and realised nothing was inserted or anything! I'm starting to think there's something wrong.
Anyone could tell me what is the problem?
Pull the power plug on the Pioneer just to make sure it is the cause of the noise. Then remove it in the Device Manager, and let Windows reinstall it. If it still makes noise, budget for a new burner
My pc has of PC noise making lots been making a lot of noise recently PC making lots of noise at first i thought it was because of my old CPU fan When I upgraded to PC making lots of noise a new fan though i quickly realised the noise remained Now my pc doesn t always make a lot of noise It mostly starts when i launch a game World of Warcraft Call of Duty I find it weird that any fan would start to rotate this fast because my CPU temp hardly goes up I ve come to know that it isn t my CPU fan making this noise because I ve been monitoring that using an application called SpeedFan The CPU fan s rpm is a constant This is also the speed I see when I check the bios I do find it odd that when i check SpeedFan it shows me fan speeds Yet the only one that s working according to SpeedFan is the CPU fan rpm The other fans are both shown to run at rpm My speccs Foxxcon A -P A -P P AC Intel Pentium IV GHz CPUs MB RAM DDR GeForce GSO MB I hope someone can help me out here nbsp
Speedfan can only monitor fans that are connected directly to a motherboard fan header. You don't mention how many case fans you have installed, other than the CPU fan. Could this "noise" be coming from a hard drive or CD ROM?
Hey! My comp can play music but when I play DVDs or run .avis I only get background music and the vocal audio is so low it's almost muted. I can't figure it out. I have DivX installed and AC3Filter as well but I use WMP and Cyberlink PowerDVD, no vocals from either. Do I need codecs? How do I find out which I need?
I've been able to boost sound with the AC3Filter and get DVD vocals now through WMP but I still am not getting any vocals from my DVDs when played through my Cyberlink PowerDVD. Any suggestions? I'm sure I'm missing a codec or something but I can't figure out what. The website I used to go to to download audio codecs for WMP11 looks down for the count so I'm at a loss.
Bought my wife a Sylvinia SMPK4068, 4gig MP3 player. My son has a zune and an account. He was able to download to an OPEL RCA MP3 player with no problems from the zune site. However when we try to down load to the Sylvinia it states it's a bad file type or can't download subscription. This is a plug and play device with an disc included for conversion of AVI files. Any suggestions? Like all the options of this unit for the price just the problems with downloads from the zune site.
I thought that site was strictly for zune users, as I own one myself, i know you cant go hooking an ipod up to it either.

When I'm just runing eveday computing (nothing system stresfull) everyting is just fine. But when I try to play a game and all my components are geting all their maximum watts, my power supply starts making a very ear piercing squeal. I have conluded that the it is not a fan in my case that is making that noise, it seems that one of the transistors is making the odd noise. Can I fix that problem or do I have to RMA it and get a new one. Any thoughts?? Please and Thank you.
You should definately RMA the psu, before it takes parts of your pc with it when/if it goes.
For whatever reason nothing will buffer here at home (youtube, myspace, etc) after a few seconds. It'll start out working fine and then just stop buffering.
We have a wireless network here so we can share a printer. I've tried all the computers in the house (Vista, XP), multiple browsers (Firefox, Explorer, Chrome), disabling the firewall, and clearing browser data. Nothing has helped. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
try uninstalling flash and install the newest version here

I just purchased a MP3 from Sylvania model SMPK4066. I connected my player with USB to my computer. Using Windows Media Player 11 and the sync option I synchronized my player 100% complete. Now my player reads No Files but WMP shows all of my music was tranferred and I see Folders on my MP3 screen with artists names but no music is playing and it still says No FIles. I need someone to help me get this thing to play my music. Thank you very much to whomever figures this out.

I am trying to making a gaming desktop computer, If you think I need something else or need to replace something or getting ripped off let me know
Looks fine, except for hardly any more money you can get a much larger hard drive... Seagate, Western Digital, or Samsung.
It won't really be a gamer.
Double check the Power Supply... 750 Watts for $14.99 is just not right.
Anyone any ideas with this one?
A brand new Maxtor 250 Gb SATA drive in a new system built by me suddenly started making a really load banging noise (like someone knocking on a door), This was accompanied by a report of a fatal windows error; then it stopped and everything was normal.
I have fitted a replacement drive and ghosted the contents across without a problem - bearing in mind that ghost will not work if there is a fault on the source drive.
The "faulty" drive has been on test in the wksps using seatools and passes everything thrown at it and no more of the noises - not a sausage! There is no question that it was the drive and no other source
Deus ex machina or a ghost in the driveshaft?
Who knows how many times a hard drive is given excessive impact as it is shipped from Asia to the country where it is sold. The damage can be extensive if not very well protected during packing.
Then of course there is the history of unreliability of the Maxtor line as well.
There are Maxtors made in four different countries, which makes an evaluation even more difficult, because construction and reliability vary quite a bit. Even Seagate drives vary widely depending on whether they come from China, Korea, or the Philippines.
I m in the process of putting together a new computer build resources Best motherboards audio The of use new Making using a motherboard from Gigabyte I m using the GA-EP -UD P motherboard with an Wolfdale Intel processor cards of gig each ram The onboard audio is from a chip titled Realtek ALC A suggesting it has channels as part of its resources I m hoping with this setup with the correct direction from an expert I might be able to put together an audio sound system that would put out good to excellent sound I m not particularly interested in a live streaming type video of process Making The Best use of new motherboards audio resources but more just to the music side of a component I m asking what type of speakers and amplifier would be best in the to dollar price range Before anyone suggests that I google this to find the best answer this already has been done made me more frustrated than a one legged man in a b t kicken contest nbsp
Speaker System Suggestion
If the redundancy is improper I apologize in advance. Do with the thread as you see fit.
My cablebox has dozens of music stations. I would like to make music CDs to play in the car. I can copy to a VHS tape with my VCRs, or to a DVD through my computer. What do I need to do now?"
I think you could buy a TV card for your computer and "capture" the cable music that way
Endeavours to play a music CD on my desktop computer now prompt the following error message to appear. - "Canno convert CD Rom drive letter to ASPI information.. Digital reading is impossible."
Assistance in resolving this problem would be much appreciated...
So what is your systems make and model? What operating system are you running?
Here s how the problem started My quot crt display went kaput and the monitor started emitting smoke I closed the power immediately and sound vibrating grinding Cpu making and that was it Forward days later called in LG service and the guy fixed my monitor bingo But now when I start my computer it makes a REAL LOUD noise and everything vibrates wildly the noise and the vibration stay for - minutes before stopping Now I have searched a bit and come across several probable causes - and eliminated quite a few like hard-disk dvd-drive wires touching fan What I really want to know is that could there be any relation between my monitor going dead an smoking and the cpu vibration The system is functioning just fine right now and a soft reboot does not cause any sound or vibration Also the problem does not happen everytime Specs - inch crt LG amd x asus m a-mx gb ram no pci cards pci-e cards nbsp
Hmm, the only moving parts on a computer are the fans and the hard disk itself. This might sound crazy but have tried to to remove the side panels and listen/see what is vibrating?
The title might sound a little weird but here's my problem. Yesterday i was chatting with my friends with a crappy headset then it broke.I just got a new one but this one is weird whenever i'm playing a music or something my friends can hear it too. I try checking it by using the sound recorded. It seems like they picked up the music in the background too. Is there anyway to stop it so i can use my mic alone?
Click start/control panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Advanced and make sure the mic is muted on the playback side.
Western Digital My Book Esential Edition 500gb - Vista lists it as Unknown Device
I'm having a somewhat of a strange problem. I have 2 WD external disks. One is 1TB and one is 500gb. The 1TB drive is working fine but Vista (64bit) decided not to recognize my 500gb drive anymore and is now listing it as unknown device.
Furthermore, drive is making a clucking noise if you can imagine. When it does that noise Vista shows it on my computer but same second throws it off the list. And that repeats itself until Explorer freezes. And I can see the drive for 1sec in the Computer Management -> Drives section and then it dissapears again.
I'm desperate for help since I have alot of school data on it.
Usually this means the drive has died
Try this one: http://www.z-a-recovery.com/unformat-tutorial.htm

Better backup soonest.
Im building my first computer mainly to play games on and was wondering if these parts are able to handle a game like CoD 4 and Crysis well.
motherboard- http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=30418&vpn=P5Q Pro&manufacture=ASUS
video card- http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=32991&vpn=AE=4870S+0452&manufacture=Palit Multimedia Inc.
They would handle those games quite well. However, the RAM you chose at Newegg is out of stock at the moment.
Whenever I have inserted a cd in a drive and selected explore, I have been able to see the file type. I bought a cd, karaoke style -- for all practical purposes here -- and when I inserted the CD I only found pdf files which hold the sheet music. I always make a copy of these cds in case one becomes damaged. On two computers I was completely surprised that I could see nothing except the PDF files. Is there a way to see the music files?
Purhaps you did not buy a CD with music on it. It may be a karaoke cd that gives you sheet music to some popular songs to let them play and sing it yourself (thus the karaoke).
I cant think of anything else because if thats ALL thats on the disk then the obove situation is accurate in my opinion
I currently have a acer aspire 3624WXCI 1.6GHz Intel Celeron Mobile, 1.49GB DDR2, 40GB, Windows XP
1. Is it possible to upgrade this laptop with a duo processor? or a faster processor? does anyone know if my motherboard is capable of swaping for a faster processor?
2. i have a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 card in this laptop, is it possible to swap this as well?
Im on a budget of $250 for this upgrade, is this possible? Also if there is any other possible way to tweak my comp so that i can play 3D online games without major lag(which ive been having)?
I got this laptop for free from a buddy of mine, i wouldnt mind dumping alittle extra cash into it, its been really good to me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!:approve:
if this laptop has i910gml chipset - it supports only intel celerons CPUs. it's impossible to upgrade videocard in this laptop. you can add more ram and replace HDD to big capacity.
I have created some MP3 CD's from 33 1/3 records. There is an average of 195 music files per CD. How would I go about to make a hard copy list of all the files that are recorded on each CD?
I've used this: http://www.storm-software.co.yu/
But there must be a free alternative
I'm also posting a reply to subscribe to this thread if others reply with, "just use this..."
Hey I found another (FREE one)
I haven't tried it, but it looks good!
I am running some cat5e cable to another room to run another computer and to run into my stereo also.
I will run two cables to a wall connector from my router. I have set the wall connector up with the T568A arrangement. Is that ok?
My question is how should I set up the cords running from the router? What arrangement and how should I set up the male end of the main cords running to the other room? Does this make sense? Thanks.
Yes, my receiver has internet radio, and will update firmware via the internet.
I have a wall plate with two connectors and will run two cables to that and two from that wall plate. My other new whole house audio receiver from Russound uses the A terminations for the ends also so I guess that is what I will do for everything.
What exactly is a crossover cable? Thanks.
I'm thinking of getting a new CPU, and i would like to know if a Dual core CPU would be compatible.
Here's a little info of CPU and motherboard.
This is the info for my current CPU.
And here's the info for the motherboard. (At least the info i could find)
I've been trying to search for it on google and on the HP page, and i couln't find anything usefull. So where can i find a list of the compatible CPU's?
Thanks in advance, 0eyvind
I thought it was in the PDF on your Support page
You can also contact HP on this too (using live chat) I've done it, and stated I don't even own a HP, they were still happy to help
Have a look here:
Also in future you are best to mainly supply your Manufacture and Model number
Can't figure out what is going on with my MySpace profile. About a week ago, all of the music vids I have on my profile stopped playing. The only exception is one YouTube video which still works. I re-installed a newer version of Active X thinking this might solve the problem. Still does not work.
Interesting though, when I view my profile on a computer other than my own, all of my videos play on my profile.
What do you think the problem may be? Has anyone had the same problem?

I have encountered a problem when I have tried to burn music to cd r. The drive will play music ok- so no problem there. However when I try to burn some tracks it will only record about 10 seconds. I will then get an error message saying that my cd is dirty or may be recording at wrong speed. Have tried other speeds without any success also tried downloading latest version of window media and closed all other applications that may have caused even a remote problem. Can anyone help or have any suggestions how to fix this problem?
Is this a laptop or a desktop computer.
It seems as if your CD drive is worn out of alignment. Either the read laser or the write laser is out of whack or it is just worn out. How old is the drive?
Burners last about a year, on average... less, if used a lot. It is easier and cheaper to replace them, than to fix them.
If you are in a dusty climate, you can remove the bottom from the burner, and use Dust Off or other canned air with difluoroethane gas to clean the unit. Do not touch the laser... just blow dust out of the drive.
There are some utilities that will reset the burner on some models. Do a Gurgle search for your brand and model.
