Internet Toolbar Not Showing Up

Q: Internet Toolbar Not Showing Up

In this computer the internet toolbar is not showing up the whole time. The only time it shows up is when you roll your mouse over the top of the screen where it's supposed to be. Please tell me how to fix it.

Preferred Solution: Internet Toolbar Not Showing Up

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Wrong section.
I don't quite remember what key to push, but it's one of the F buttons.

I have a toolbar on my taskbar titled "Programs". It has about eight folders in it. I made another toolbar, and placed it directly adjacent to the Programs toolbar, to obscure the eight folders and force it to be a dropdown menu.

Trouble is, as soon as I lock my taskbar, right next to the arrow that displays the eight items of my Programs toolbar in menu-form, one of the eight items is showing up as an icon, as if the other toolbar isn't close enough to the Programs toolbar in order to completely obscure the eight items.

Here's what I mean in graphic form:

It's bugging me to no end. Anyone else had this problem/resolved it?

A:Toolbar on taskbar should only be showing an arrow but is showing icon

Hello thewonkits, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I notice this happens when using small icons for a toolbar. If you like, you could unlock the taskbar, right click on the dotted separator line to the left of the two top far left toolbars (one at a time) click on View and Large Icons, then lock the taskbar to see if that may look ok to you. It will make the top row a bit bigger though.

Hopefully someone may know a better way to hide that bit of icon poking out when locked.

this PC I have I rarely use. do very little web surfing on it. almost never. today I run spybot SD, and it's showing malware and adware entries...

Montera.toolbar
Delta.toolbar.

delta.toolbar I've seen many times on multiple PCs...

my question is, where is this coming from? I don't install or use toolbars, so why is this here? I use firefox... is their some setting I can use to stop this junk from installing? (if it's coming from the web or web surfing that is)?. it's got to be coming from the very little web surfing I do since I also rarely install programs on this machine. only programs I've installed recently were IMGburn and CDBurnerXP. could it have came from those programs?

thanks.

A:toolbar malware keeps showing up? how?

Unfortunately installing anything can try to install other software such as toolbars.
You must read each screen in the installation process and make sure to uncheck anything that is checked by default to install other software.
In some cases in the Terms it states other software will be installed...I would cancel the install if I ever see that.
It can also make a difference where you downloaded the installer from.
Some sites may package the installer with things you don't want.

Hello,

I'm using XP Pro with SP3 and I realized today that the drop down menu for customizing my notifcations toolbar isn't "working." That is, when I go into Taskbar and Start Menu Properties >> Customize taskbar, everything is set for "hide when inactive" and the drop down menu doesn't work (ie, if I click the downarrow, nothing happens)

Also, only the "Current Items" are listed (no "Past Items") I've tried clicking restore defaults but no luck. Here's a screen shot -- I'm clicking the down arrow on the menu but only a small black bar appears beneath the field.

I've installed several programs during the past couple of days (Thunderbird for one). Could that be causing this? It's been quite a while since I used that function so I don't know when it went on the blink.

Any suggestions?

Barbara

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions.

Downloads
WinsockFix- Save it to your desktop. It is unlikely that you will need this program, but in the event you lose internet access after uninstalling WebHancer, double click on this program to run it.

combofix.exe-Save it to your Desktop, we will need this later.
smitRem.exe - Run it and extract it to it's own folder on the Desktop.
Ewido Anti-MalwareInstall Ewido Anti-Malware
Double-click the icon on Desktop to launch Ewido
You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files. On the top of the main screen click Shield
Click the word active to change it to inactive
On the top of the main screen click Update.
Then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
I also recommend changing the "Update interval" to something more reasonable like 12 hours.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido
When you have finished updating, EXIT Ewido.
Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
Click "Next"
In the box to choose where to extract the files to,
Click "Browse"
Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
Click on "Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
Click "Make New Folder"
Type in BFU
Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".
RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcra PLUS Remover.
Save it in the same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

I have lost an indication in my toolbar area of any running programs or open Internet Explorer Windows. Am using WinXP ..... The only Toolbars seemingly available to me are: Quick Launch, Address Bar, Links, Desktop and MediaPlayer.....I often open multiple copies of IE and I like to see what is open.......Any suggestions or links to interesting task manager type programs that would afford me quick access to what is running on my PC??

Thanks,

I am hoping that I am posting this in the correct area. My wife has a laptop that will connect wirlessly and show internet pages on our home network but when we are traveling, even at her parents, he laptop shows as being connected to the wireless network but does not show internet pages or allow her to surf the net. This only happens away from our home network. Any ideas on how to fix this? It is a Dell laptop is that makes a difference.(Moderator edit: added Topic Description.jgw)

I've had good luck with similar issues by clearing out its saved networks, then trying to connect again.

This references showing Toolbar rows Icons Taskbar 3 2-line Taskbar Large small using Quick Launch Bar icons don't wrap even though there is room - a post by chillz which discovers a quot bug quot with the taskbar not resetting the row-sizing for toolbars when dragging the taskbar to the left then back to the bottom I for a while now have been using a custom quick-launch toolbar on my taskbar with the taskbar being unit-lines in height and having the taskbar on my secondary left monitor When I first set this up it showed lines of small icons in the toolbar and up to lines on the standard taskbar This was perfect because the toolbar didn't reset the order every time I launched an application contrary to how the pinned application system works With pinned applications no matter what position I drop the icon the order always resets and floats from place to place so that system of organizing icons is disgusting because you have apps between icons of apps that aren't running some times and other times the running applications are above and Taskbar Toolbar showing 3 small rows using Large Icons 2-line Taskbar below with or without grouping enabled The vertical display would be the ideal way for me to view unlaunched applications see aforementioned topic because they group together and launched apps come after in horizontal mode the taskbar is chaotic without a toolbar organizing the apps to one side but then you lose the functionality of the pinned-application system if you forfeit usage of that chaotic horizontal system in favor of how the vertical system works but in horizontal mode To the point After an update restart the toolbar reset and only showed lines despite there being more than enough room for rows of small icons I couldn't figure out what happened or what changed and then I read the aforementioned topic after some searching to find it actually worked Moving the taskbar to the left then back down resets the order so lines can be used on a line-unit height taskbar with large icons I would like to see several things fixed - Fix the chaotic organizing system of the horizontal taskbar to match the vertical display mode so pinned-apps are always on one side and use all lines while opened apps read like a book Other people will likely have a different opinion to this suggestion and I'd like to read them - Fix the toolbar icon organizational system so all space can be utilized without needing to move the taskbar each restart or update I have yet to restart since fixing the issue and I rarely restart as it is but others may not keep their pc running stressful on components to keep restarting Again I'd like to read others opinions on this but I'm sure most will agree on this point that unused space shouldn't be wasted Here we see all rows in my quick-launch toolbar Unfortunately without restarting or receiving a new update I can't reset the toolbar back to lines which is fantastic and I didn't take a screenshot prior to moving the taskbar to the left then back down but for simple effect imagine the top lines visibly the bottom invisible and an arrow on the right for extra icons and that is the default view You'll likely be able to repeat the effect if you don't have a toolbar and try it out

If you open Internet Explorer, click on 'Tools' at the right hand side of the screen near the top. Then select Internet Options, then click on the 'Advanced' tab to the right then click on the 'Reset' button which is directly beneath 'Restore Advanced Settings'. Once you have reset your settings you will need to close Internet Explorer then re-open. Let me know if that works!

When I boot up my laptop the internet icon on the task bar shows a red "X" and none of my internet icons are listed. The airplane mode is turned off, the Wi-Fi switch is in the on position, the wireless router is working fine(my wife can logon with no problem). I looked at the Device Manager and it shows everything is running properly. Anyone have any ideas as what is going on?

I came home from vacation and found out that my mother had gotten a bunch of spyware and adware applications on the computer. I was able to remove most of it except for there is a toolbar on the internet that should not be there. I have no idea what the name of the toolbar is as it does not appear on view -> toolbars. I tried looking for it under the ctrl + alt + del and it is not there either. I also tried looking for it under the add/remove programs in the control panel. I have no idea what the name is and I have no idea how to remove it? Any suggestions.

Okay so I got a Windows 8 laptop for Christmas (yay me and its pretty awesome)
Back to the problem...
Yesterday I had to download WinRAR to be able to open up some files and during the setup it only asked me once if I wanted to download a toolbar. I said no... but after I closed the setup and opened Internet Explorer, this "Internet Search" tool bar is here and I can't remove it! It's annoying because I can't click a link that opens up a new tab but instead of going to the link it goes to this "Internet Search".... I tried removing it from my Add-Ons but that didn't seem to work either.

A:Toolbar is taking over my internet...HELP!!!

Try to system restore out of the toolbar. Go Control Panel > Recovery > Open system restore. You shouldn't have to go back too far to do so; thus, presumably few programs will be uninstalled.

I am running Windows XP Home. When I open Internet Explorer I lose some of the standard information ie File, edit, view, favorites, tools, help at the top of the page. To retrieve it I have to select the Restore/Restore Down button. What setting needs to be changed to make these fields stay in place? Also, shouldn't IE always open the Window in the "full" position and if you want to reduce the size of the Window you would then select the Restore Down button? Sems like there are two settings that need to be changed here.

Not sure about the 1st prob, although I assume you've done the F11 to get full screen. Sometimes ie defaults to smaller screen on opening and if you stretch to full window (using arrows) then close it'll stay like that.

Hello. Since yesterday I have seen two red x's on my toolbar. One is on the audio output. When I hover over it, it says No Audio Output Device Is Installed. Also, there is a red x over the Internet connection icon. But instead of the normal Internet connection icon, there is what looks to be a cable. When I click on it, I get a small window that says Network settings, with only Airplane Mode available as an option. No wireless internet. What should I do?

Hello,
Running WIN XP Pro service pack 2 on a Dell laptop.

Symptoms: 1. Internet pages only partially load, if at all. The pictures that don't load are blank, not the white square with red x you often get. 2. Toolbar does not show as if permanently hidden. 3. Can't move desktop icons. 4. Microsoft flag on keyboard doesn't open Start menu. 5. Can't paste web addresses into internet address bar. 6. Can't open System Restore.

This started with the internet problem. Was running Norton A/V, then I loaded McAffee and it seemed to overwrite my Norton A/V and the additional problems occured.

Thanks.

This could be the only time you'll see me suggest trying a System Restore to an earlier, more trouble free point. I don't normally believe SR is worth the space it occupies but in your case, it may just work. Before you do this, please visit http://www.symantec.com and download the copious notes on how to uninstall their product. You may have also to uninstall McAfee to resolve the situation, then put it back once all traces of the Norton software have gone.

Anything to worry about??  I Googled it and it seems like I need to get rid of it.  How??

Please download Junkware Removal Tool and save it on your desktop.

Shut down your anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click it and select Run as administrator.
The tool will open and start scanning your system.
Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
On completion, a log is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
Please attach the JRT log.
Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on Scan button.
When the scan has finished click on Clean button.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.
Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.
Checkmark following boxes:

I am running XP home.

Toolbar - asks us if we should save or not etc etc All these programs are accessible when you go through C gt Program Files gt Start Up Toolbar all in Internet Explorer Extensions - HELP! quot Program Name quot etc and then you just find the program shortcut and it opens without an Start Up Toolbar all in Internet Explorer Extensions - HELP! issue Do you guys have any idea what is happening Thanks for the help

A:Start Up Toolbar all in Internet Explorer Extensions - HELP!

Since these are all shortcuts, you may try this Icon Cache - Rebuild I wonder though whether you are talking about permanent entries (those that you pinned there yourself) in the start menu or temporary entries (those that appeared by themselves because you happen to use the program).

Start Menu - Change Number of Recent Programs to Display

Right click on the orb (the round window thingy on the left bottom) > click on Properties > then the Start Menu tab > then Customize and set the number indicated in the picture to Zero (0). Do the entries in the start menu disappear?

It appears that I may be infected with malware or some other viruses? One is the SweetPack for sure. How do or what do I have to do to remove it?  I have downloaded SuperAntiSpyware and it caught a lot of issues in the begining. I have ran it in normal mode and in safe mode. Along with that I have also download Anti-Malware Bytes and ran that in normal mode and in safe mode.

This morning I see in the upper right search tool bar SweetPacks A14 Customized Web Search in faint lettering.

I do want to add that here is what I am using for internet security:

Microsoft Security Essentials
Spybot
SuperAntiSpyware
Malware Bytes

The only firewall I am using is the one that comes with Windows xp.

What do I have to do beside purchase a new computer to clean this machine and protect it.

Thank you for your help.

Good afternoon, been trying to work this problem the last two nights. Restarted my computer and when it rebooted the toolbar was in classic, the internet disabled, firewall disabled, windows update disabled and security services turned off. I'm also blocked from being able to create or process a restore point.First thought; rootkit. I've tried running the following programs with no sucess and not even any hits with what appears to be minor threats (a cookie in one program, a suspicious registry key in another);Trojan removerSuperantispywaretdss killerRoguekillerrkillmalware bytes and malware bytes anti rootkitadw cleanerNeedless to say, I'm at my wits end. I'm not sure what else I can do or maybe this isn't even a rootkit virus since nothing can kind anything? Thanks!

Hi -

What Make and Model (desktop or laptop) -

I also had minor problems with Google toolbar in IE 9 but now it works.
Try to set Google as your home page and manage the addons from there -

The background color of the Internet Explorer Toolbar comes up black, some of the time, not all of the time. Icons can be seen but no words can be read. It started doing so after a power failure interupted a session. I have not found a way to change it back to gray when this happens, other than to reboot the computer which sometimes puts it back to gray. Any ideas?

Hi Chips,

My name is Uttam from Dell Social Media Outreach Team. In response to query I assume that its about Internet explorer toolbar.
On the new system its possible you have newer version of Internet explorer.

1. Enable the Menu bar on the top of the browser and check for icon size.
2. Or, on top right of Internet Explorer -> go to Page -> try resetting both 'Zoom' and 'text size'
3. Or, press and hold control key and same time scroll up and down to see the difference.

Regards,

Hi everybody I am new to the forum and have had a good look round and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge here As you can guess computer frustrations brought me in Using Windows XP I had some probs in IE used with Google toolbar so decide to uninstall and reinstall IE I got half way through the uninstall and a warning came up that if I continued the uninstal problems might occur in other areas I abandoned I then found I was missing key functions in IE keyboard shortcuts the google home button the imported IE favourites I went back to the uninstall IE and decided to try again It wizzed the wizard and hit the same warning messages I opted to lose the info and continue the uninstall but warning message after message came up after ignoring about Google Internet Explorer toolbar and problems of these I realised this was going to go on all day and Internet Explorer and Google toolbar problems abandoned again I returned to IE and the same faults persisted but nothing new I tried a reinstall of IE over the existing version but it wont let me I tried a reinstall of the google toolbar but nothing happens I tried a system restore when all this had failed and this didnt change anything either Thanks in anticipation of some other ideas nbsp

I recently dropped my PC and had to re-install Windows I downloaded and installed the Google toolbar and now I want to move the Google toolbar so that it s on the same row as the address bar In other words I d like to move the Google toolbar up one row so that I can conserve some space Please excuse this very long post It sure seems like a poor use of Toolbar using Google the and W 7 Moving Internet Explorer time to try and search for the answer myself instead of just asking for the answer But that is the recommended approach and so I thought I d try that to see just how it goes Originally I was going to post a request for help here in this forum on how to move that toolbar to same row containing the address bar Before doing that I wanted to prove that I had attempted to search this forum and try to find any relevant posts that would help me with my search There are two reasons for that The first is that I believe that is the proper procedure and the second is that doing that will help me to learn and remember how it s done for the next time I need to do this Ultimately I used the search tool to search this forum for quot windows internet explorer moving the google toolbar quot But I couldn t find any good solutions in this forum With Windows XP I recall that I first had to unlock the Google Moving the Google Toolbar using W 7 and Internet Explorer toolbar and then it was easy to move it around But I m having difficulty doing that using W In XP I R-Clicked on the taskbar which had an option called quot Toolbars quot and from there I was able to do what I needed fairly easily Unfortunately I m finding that as I examine and explain the various options and choices that are presented to me this task just keeps getting more and more complex and it seems to just keep expanding in a never-ending sea of complexity It appears as if there s just no end to this task But let me take you through as much of it as I can and let s see where we wind up Unfortunately I can t find the correct options in W When I R-Click on the taskbar I see one option called quot Toolbars quot which contains the following eight items Toolbars contains a drop down menu Cascade Windows Show Windows Stacked Show Windows Side by Side Show the Desktop Start Task Manager Lock the Taskbar Properties The Drop Down Menu associated with the Toolbars option contains the following five choices which are all valid selections for a toolbar to appear on the Taskbar Address Links Tablet PC Input Panel Desktop New Toolbar The Properties option is equivalent to opening the Control Panel and selecting the item called Taskbar and Start Menu Properties But I cannot find any way to unlock the Google toolbar Next I tried to R-Click on the row near the top containing the quot buttons quot corresponding to each open Internet page I don t know what this row is called But it s very similar to the Taskbar found near the bottom of the window It has one button for each Internet site that was opened When I R-Click on this row I get the following seven options Menu bar Command bar Favorites bar Status bar Google toolbar Lock the toolbars and Show tabs on a separate row I was sure to unlock the toolbars here and when I did that I immediately noticed a small veritical bar appeared to the left of the Google toolbar row but I tried and tried to move this bar to another row but just couldn t do it Next I tried to R-Click on the row containing the Google toolbar When I did that I got the following four options Google Toolbar Options Google Toolbar Help Enable More Buttons Pin all Buttons I apologize for this very long post I hoped it would help me remember this experience and also demonstrate to the other members that I did try to search this forum before asking for help When making this kind of post requesting help as I understand it is the recommended procedure I first searched the forum to check if I can find the answer for myself Then I saved this post and all the answers so that if I ever neede... I got bogged down half-way through your long post so I'll tell you the simple method I use in IE8. It may be different for you, depending on your browser version. Left click and drag the "seperator bar" from the very far left side of the Google tool bar to any location you choose.

I have Windows xp and a Broadband connection. I want to put IE 6 & OE 6 onto my Quick Launch Toolbar, so that they launch automatically rather then me having to click on them. When I drag the icons to the QL TB they do not stay there. What can I do, if anything?

A:Internet Explorer 6/OutlookExpress 6 onto Quick Launch Toolbar

Right click on the taskbar and uncheck "Lock The Taskbar" then drag them onto the QL bar.

However that won't launch them automatically, thats just so you can easily single click on them no matter what you're doing without using the desktop icons or Start Bar.

To have programs automatically start when you boot your computer you need to put them in the startup folder in the programs list. You can also just drag them into that folder. I personally wouldn't want them open everytime I started the computer though.

Hi all,

Any help would be appreciated.

Since I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP my wireless internet icon that allows me to search for wireless internets an d shows me the strength of them has disappeared from my toolbar on my desktop. How do I get it back?

I tried looking for help online and someone suggested looking in my Device Manager and I have looked at my Device Manager and there are yellow question marks under the "other device" bit I don't know what that means or how to rectify it?

Help!

If not, visit your PC maker's web site to download the driver and your wireless icon should re-appear.

Every so often, I have a problem in IE where some/all of the text in my toolbars are either blank, replaced with 6's, or some of each.
The window won't load the website - just blank - and I have to close it.
Usually the other windows I already had open still work fine. But eventually I have to restart to get rid of the problem... at least temporarily.
Any ideas on what it could be???

A:Internet Explorer problem - 6's replacing toolbar text etc...?!?!?!?!

It might be a browser hijack. Please download HijackThis (see below). Create a folder for it at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required).

Just over a week ago I got the virus 'anti spyware soft'. I downloaded malwarebytes and combix and removed it. But it didn't completely go away and I got it again. I removed most of it again but continuAlly got norton popups (I run norton Internet security) saying 'an attemp to access your computer was blocked'.Anyway my laptop (Dell inspiron) was Still running ok but I acidently clicked on And ran combofix. (I think this is whAt caused the following problem) Since then my laptop starts in windows classic theme and I cannot access the Internet as it cannot 'acquire network Address' (I connect wireless).I tried various things and in the end removed combofix and it stArted normally again but now it has the same problem and have no idea whAt to do. I removed mAlwarebytes but that did nothing. Thanx in advance for any help.

Hi would someone be able to help please!

Firstly, there are no destop icons and the toobar is missing apon login just the background is shown. Only can access programs and files using Task Manager. I have tried running explorer.exe but this only sometimes works briefly or not at all. System restore does not help either.
Also when searching on IE I get redirected to random unwanted sites. Resetting my internet explorer settings stops this for a short time but the problem comes back again.

I am not sure if these problems are related or not, any help appreciated!

It's difficult to explain, but I'll do everything I can to try to make it clear. Basically, I'll have connections available on my computer (Windows 10 Home 64-Bit HP) but whenever I click the connection menu, they don't show up, which means I have to reset the modem, wait the 15 minutes it takes, and then the connections FINALLY show up. Once I'm connected however, if I click the menu again, the connections wont show up.
The image I've connected shows what I'm talking about. I can wait for a long time and connections still don't show up. I was wondering if there's a way to troubleshoot this without resetting the modem every time I want to use my computer. If you can help me, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

- A 64 bit version on an office PC
- A 32 bit version on a small netbook.

My favourite news page is this one : Europe1.fr - Infos

The page is shown totally on my office PC, but all the red section is hidden on the netbook :

On the netbook, I already checked that the following "complentary modules" were installed and activated :
- Shockwave Flash object
- Java Plug-in

I can't find what's missing on my netbook so that the page is shown correctly.

Thanks for any help ! Regards,

MALESCOT.

A:IE8 not showing whole Internet Page

It seems like a flash problem. An elementary suggestion, but have you checked that you are running the latest version of Flash?

To All -

Working on a Vista Premium machine and when we run internet explorer or internet explorer with no add-ons, nothing display but the address bar. When you type an address in and hit refresh, nothing happens.

Also, there are no drop downs and internet explorer options in the control panel is missing so i cannot reset my IE settings.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, I've connected to the internet like all good wifi's should but the icon in the lower right still shows a big "X" over both the Lan and wireless connections. So basically I'm not connected to any network nor are any showing up when I click "Refresh Network List". More information: this has happened before and after too short a time the internet goes out as well. Is it a dead wifi card?

Basically as the title states is that IE9 is stating that I am not connected to the Internet. The computer is an HP Pavilion dv6. I am trying to install updates but the Windows Update is giving me the 64c and 9c65 error codes. Before the computer wouldn't even say that it was connected to the internet, but was connected to the router. I went into the options and it was trying to connect to a certain DNS server but I had changed it to automatically find one for me. Then it was saying that I was connected to the Internet but IE9 still wouldn't display the webpage. Please Help.

Mine is a gateway, Click to expand...

can you explain a little further
i got that fixed by reinstalling windows XPClick to expand...

Did you install all the drivers ?

Details of how connected by wireless
all via a router - make and model of router & Modem if applicable
ISP details

can you supply the details below - ipconfig & pings & Device Manage
You will need to copy into notepad and then copy across to the working PC
{ipconfig /all}
We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all

-> Start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all
post back the results here
TWO Methods to do that - if you cannot access the internet with PC, then use method 2 to copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Method ONE -------------------------------------------------------------
start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Method TWO -------------------------------------------------------------

Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Ping Tests}
Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

Ping the default gateway shown in above ipconfig /all
Post back the results

Ping google.com
Post back the results

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Ping 209.191.93.53
post back results

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Device Manager}
Post back the results in device manager
Start > control Panel {Vista set to classic view}> system > {Vista, device manager on left hand side} {XP hardware Tab, device manager button} > network adaptors, click on the + > post back the devices listed there
are there any ! ? or X

My daughter sign up to a children's website (webkinz.com). She was able to login, but she is not able to log-out because the screen is not showing the full content. Now, she cannot log back in.
I am using IE 8, and tried to change it to IE7 hoping this will solve the problem, but IE7 won't install because IE8 is still there. Unfortunately, I do not know how to remove IE8.
I also turn-off the pop-up blocker but it did not work, also I activated the auto-updates.
Please help! Thank you.

Have you installed the networking drivers?

If not, you can find them here - http://support.dell.com/support/inde...=us&l=en&s=dhs

A:showing no internet access error

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Is this a wired or wireless connection issue?

If this is a wireless issue you may remove all wireless profiles stored in your computer, then try again to reconnect to your own SSID make sure to type in the correct network encryption.
An option is to manually add SSID:
http://www.7tutorials.com/how-connec...eless-networks

Test your connection after. If that didn't help at all please provide an ipconfig /all output.
Click on the Start Menu search box area type cmd, right click on cmd see at the top, and click on Run as Administrator. From the command prompt (black screen), Copy and Paste these ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt . Please attach the .txt file to be found in your Local Disk 'C' on your next post.

Have problem. Pls help. After the new windows 8.1 update (which inclided the home screen power off button) a net problem came out. In my wifi indication, it sais "limited", but when i enter the web, i can search in the internet without probs. When i go to net. and sharing center, i cant see any network. On my other laptop (win7) it shows the connection normally. Thx and sry for bad lang.

A:Not showing working internet connection

Limited is usually caused by a router issue. Basically the router has not released the previous lease on that MAC, or the computer is unable to resolve the handshake negotiation with the router. If the router is using a Captive Portal or you are using PPPoE. You have to authenticate before removing that limited connection.

Try doing the following from a Command Window as administrator: ipconfig /flushdns . Also: netsh winsock reset catalog .

any ideal why my internet is showing disconnected but isnt

A:internet showing disconnected but isnt

click on the icon and hit open Network & Sharing Center

Here you will see a picture at the top of the screen which will work like this.

PC - Router/Modem - Internet

Check where the problem persists between Router/Modem & Internet or PC & Router/Modem.
If the problem is between Router/Modem and Internet contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP)

Here are some simple fixes if it is PC to Router/Modem.
1. Turn Router off, Turn PC Off wait 10mins then turn both back on.
2. Try a different Ethernet Cable
3. Ensure that your network driver is working (Below)
4. Restart your Network adapter (Below)

3.
Click Start
Right Click My Computer
Click Manage

You are now in the Computer manager on the left Click Device Manager

Check for any problems (these will be devices with a yellow exclamation mark next to them) these might be found under Network Adapters.

4.
click your network Icon on the bottom right of the screen and open the Network & Sharing Center
now click Manage Network Connections

Here locate your network adapter click it, push Disable this Network Device above - followed by Enable this Network Device. Therefore Restarting the Network adapter.

Recently many of the sites that I visit have the empty box with a small red X in it in place for images. At first I thought it was just the site but now it's happening on almost all sites that have a lot of images. I usually have to refresh the page three or four times before they all show up properly. It doesn't to seem to be any specific type of image I cant view. It happens with both JPEGs and GIFs.

So then I thought that it could possibly be my firewall. So I disabled it and refreshed the page again but that didn't work. So I decided to come here and get some help if possible. It is getting very frustrating.

Every time I shut down my computer, Spybot shows a malware key called Netster. I delete it every time and it comes back upon reboot. I had disabled my Fax because Norton always told me that fxsclnt.exe was an internet worm and blocked it. I have to be able to use my WinXP fax. What can I do? Should I send a HiJack This log before I delete the key it describes at Netster? I went to the Microsoft site, and put this in Google and can find no help for this problem. Thanks. Sally

A:fxsclnt.exe keeps showing up as internet worm

You can check the MD5 Hash of the file with a program like HashCalc.

The file fxsclnt.exe should be located in the following directory on XP...

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\fxsclnt.exe

Now, if I wanted to check and see if this file was a legit Windows file, I would find the file, rightclick and select Properties. Go to the Version tab, and it should tell you the version number. On the computer that I have, the version is 5.2.2600.2180

Now that I know the version, I search for the file on the following site. I look for the file that matches the correct version in the "All Versions" list, and I click on it. I click the tab that says TECH INFO, and it tells me that the MD5 file hash should be...

89C27954A453A7D531C58719DA2A8FF7

So now I open HashCalc. I make sure Data Format is set to File, and in the space for Data I enter the location of the file, which is...

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\fxsclnt.exe

I press Calculate, and it will calculate the MD5 hash value. I compare the hash from the website with the one from the HashCalc program and they match. This tells me the file is legit Windows program.
