I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Update to Internet Explorer 9. Internet Explorer 8 might not be compatible with your camera.

I'm new to this forum - I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled this program and still cannot actually have the cam work. I keep getting the error message "This error report includes information regarding the condition of LifeCam.exe when the problem occurred; the operating system version and computer hardware in use; your digital product ID which could be used to identify your license and internet protocol of your computer." Then it shuts down. This has happened over and over and I'm getting nowhere fast! I must be doing something wrong but can't figure out what. I've followed instructions in the set up but am still having problems. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks.

Hi,
What Service Pack do you have installed?
You need XP SP2 or higher.

See if this software will install:

Some firewalls will not allow the software to be installed.
Have you disabled your security before installing the software?

Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000, incompatible with Windows 7 RC build, and yet it worked fine with build 7000? This is perplexing. Anybody with a solution?

A:Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000

Try going into the system settings and update the driver and be sure to let it search online. Initially there was no updated driver but there is now a new one that it will update and make it work correctly again.

Recently, after random computer crashes ( blue screen or not) and after reboot, the found new hardware utility starts. It finds "new hardware"the Lifecam but when I try to install it again I can't find the drivers.
I have to uninstalll the drivers and then reinstall the camera drivers through the downloaded utility.
I don't understand why the camera congfiguration is disappearing each time and worst I can't find the location of the lifecam drivers. Where are they and why is this happening?
I'd appreciate any help.

Microsoft Lifecam 5000 Problem - I have read a lot of posts on the microsoft website when I googled the problem and I tried most of it. Nothing worked.

I have reinstalled drivers, software, tried different usb slots, RR computer countless times.

Basically - the computer knows that its connected and can see it - but then it wont work. For example - skype recognises that its a LifeCam 5000 and the light on the cam turns on for a bit, but no picture. It has worked before on Skype but now it won't for some reason.

The LifeCam software says that there is no webcam connected to the computer, which is also weird if skype can see that it is connected. So I am stuck.

Anyone have any idea's please!!

Cheers

I've used this camera on a different computer, and it has worked perfect for hours at a time. I've removed software, re-installed many times.
everytime i use this camera with Skype on my computer it will lose sound on the other end (mine always works fine) and they complain of static, or it will crash my computer. 9/10 times i use Skype there will be small horizontal lines across the screen.... just before it starts to lose the connection. No Skype help menus are able to fix this problem.

Please help...

Hi whitepanda!
As you can see it's a driver problem, first of all go to Device Manager (right click Computer icon, select Mange, select Device Manager) and check for ! mark (yellow color) if it's there click on it and remove driver, and try to install the driver again, is it just driver or the whole application?

Hi Everyone,

I know there are several other threads on this topic already but I have a unique problem. I can install LifeCam software fine sometimes but the driver never installs for the camera. The few times I get the LifeCam installed, it always just showed up as no camera connected. When I try to use Device Manager to "Update driver software", no matter what I try, the last screen always say, "Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device." Then several lines down it says, " The extended attributes are inconsistent." Has anyone else discovered this problem? I would really appreciate your help! Thanks!

Why doesn't my microsoft lifecam work with windows 7? Is there a simple way to fix this problem?

A:Windows 7/Microsoft Lifecam

We would need the model number to tell you a reason to why it is not working, and if there is a fix.. If there is no supported driver for windows7, you may need to attempt to use a Windows Vista driver and run it in compatibility mode.

If these options are not possible, you may have to purchase a new one.

Please reply back with the model of the webcam.

Hi I keep seeing my old webcam in drop down lists such as picasa import list yet had deleted it over 2 years ago, I have tried all the conventional methods of searching and deletion but it keeps showing up!
Advice on how to rid myself of this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

A:un-installing microsoft lifecam vx-3000

Maybe I should not post this for fear it will get you into trouble; but, here goes anyway. First off, I have done this little procedure, myself, many times with success; but, this information, misused, can destroy an OS.

The problem with the developer-furnished uninstalls is that they are almost always incomplete so I find myself frequently editing the Windows Registry (in this case, deleting lines) to get rid of annoying remnants like the one you describe.

First, I would create a complete drive image of the partition containing my operating system. Then, I would start Regedit and do a search for every line containing "lifecam" (sans quotes). I would delete every line I found containing that text string and every line I accidentally found as a result of that search that is related to lifecam.

There you have it. If you try this, please do the imaging part first so you don't wind up with just four toes.

I am running MicroSoft Windows XP, Service Pack 3, using Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, Build 7.0.15107, on a MacBook (2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, OS X 10.6.8). I have a Microsoft LifeCam HD 6000 connected through a USB hub that I use for Skype. Since I upgraded Parallels Desktop the other day, the webcam is no longer recognized by the computer. I know I could fix the problem by disconnecting and reconnecting the camera. But this is a remote computer which I control with LogMeIn, and that is not an option. Is there any way I can 'trick' the computer (Windows or Mac OS) into thinking I have done that? If you have any ideas or need more info, please be as specific as you can. I don't know much about computers. Thank you.

A:[SOLVED] Microsoft Lifecam HD 6000 not seen

Does the Hub have it's own power adapter? (this would increase the power provided by the USB port to the devices plugged into the hub) When you use a USB hub, it diminishes the power from the USB port. Devices that require more power like HDD's Cameras etc as a opposed to keyboards or mice, may not get recognized by the computer. Unless the Hub is self powered.
The solution is to plug the USB device directly into the computer.
You can go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager are there any devices with yellow flags? Or under Universal Serial Bus Controllers is there an Unknown Device? If so, right click it and Uninstall it. Now right click any device and choose Scan For Hardware Changes, this should recognize the device and reinstall it. If it comes back with a yellow flag or as an Unknown Device, then it needs to be plugged into the computer directly and not through a hub.

I am running a Microsoft Lifecam in a Dell Zino with Windows 7 Home Professional. The lifecam is supposed to store its videos and such in User>Pictures>Lifecam. Instead, this one stores them in Username>Food and Cooking>Pictures>Lifecam. I have no idea why it dug up that Food folder, but I would like to change the default storage. I have searched for a way but have not found it.

It's not a fatal problem... just annoying. Thanks for help.

After the upgrade to Win 8 Pro from win 7 64, I tried the LifeCam Cinema ...nothing happens. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the exe file is said to be the wrong file. When i clik the tray icon nothing happens. When

The camera connects under windows but essentially useless with very dark image.

Anyone solve this?

A:Microsoft LifeCam Cinema not installing correctly

I tried to install this again. Uninstalled, reinstalled and again it installed but still do not have the proper EXE icon. When I clik on the Cinema life cam icon in the control "devices and printers," and the software pops up but when i clik on the start Lifecam button, an error pops up saying that it cannot find "lifecam.exe"/ Checking in the correct program directory there is no "lifecam.exe." There are two exe's, with same Lifecam icon, but neither of them start the program. lifecamd2.exe and lifetray.exe

Mystified. Tried a couple web cam apps and neither have any functionalty and the image is very poor and dark.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit version.
My video camera is Microsfot VX-7000.
My Lifecam software is Windows 7 64bit compatible, release 3.0

My Lifecam software installed without problems but when I double-click on the LifeCam software, I get an BLANK screen with a message that states "no camera connected".

However, when I run/use Skype (latest version 4.1.0.179), the camera works without problems, which confirms that the camera is OKAY.

I have checked Microsoft Support and found article KB933311 titled "No camera connected" error message, and the video preview is blank when you start the LifeCam software: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933311

but none of those issues effect me, nor did it solve anything.

So, what is happening? Any ideas?

Hi Guys, I'm new in here. I like this forum and that was the only forum I found many solution to my problem.

The problem is simples but I don't know if is simple to resolve.

I've download the last Driver for Microsoft LifeCam 3.0 and installed. Because I know that the 3.0 version is compatible with Windows 7 x86 and x64.

No problem, the driver was installed with success but when I start the "Microsoft Life Cam" software I receive the message:

"Initialization error..."

And the weird is normal in "Device Manager":

I've just tested my Webcam in other PC running Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and work perfectly.

I guess the problem is happennig because I'm running a x64 version.

Well, somebody have any suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

Matiello

A:Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 / Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Well, I'd test that x64 hypothesis if I could on another computer. It doesn't really sound right to me.

Another thing could be there was a hiccup in installing the drivers and you need to reinstall them. Uninstall the old driver completely and reinstall them.

There could be a potential hardware compatibility issue somewhere down the line.

Another thing you could do if you have the time is make a spare partition and install the x86 version on it and try the camera there and see if you still have issues, if so, then that makes it lean towards a hardware incompatibility issue.

When it was installed, some aspects will be "installed on first use", and now it wants to install the function, for which you need the CD.

You really cannot use it successfully (not to mention legally) if you do not own and have the disks.

Help!! I tried to put a cd in that would give me Microsoft Works along with my Microsoft 98 programs that I already have on my computer. I guess I did not do it correctly because the different microsoft 2000 programs did not install completely on my computer. When I went to delete them off I can not get ms word 2000 deleted and my orininal ms word 98 back. I now have no ms word in programs. I do have the ms word 2000 installation first page that keeps coming up and I can't delete it from the system. I went into my computer, add/delete program. I still can not get the ms works 2000 programs off my computer. PLease let me know what to do.

Thank You Florence Hayes [email protected]

A:Can't get microsoft 2000 off and my microsoft 98 back

I'm afraid you're going to have to give us better information.

You mention Microsoft 2000 and Microsoft 98. Neither of these are operating systems or programs. One might want to assume that you're talking about MS Office 2000 and MS Windows 98, but we cannot be sure.

We need you to differentiate and give us the complete name of the program(s) and/or operating system(s) of which you're speaking.

For Windows version, double-click your MyComputer icon and then hit the help dropdown menut and About Window XX...it should tell you the exact version of Windows that you're using.

If you don't know what version of Office and/or Works you're using, you can do Start-Find (or Start-Search), Files or Folders and type in the following (no spaces!):

winword.exe,msworks.exe

and hit Find now (or Search now). When they have been found, right-click them, hit Properties. You should have a Versions tab. Tell us what version it reports for these files.

Stick with it and we will get there.

(PS: Word 98 only runs on a MAC computer. Do you have a MAC? If so, all of my instructions might be bad, they're really intended for IBM-compatible computers.)

I was trying to configure Word 2000 to send email, but I can't seem to find the means to configure the bloody thing. I have tried help files, but wasn't much help.

Anybody plz?

Thanks.

A:Microsoft Word 2000 aka MS Word 2000 - Sending Email - Need Help Configuring

Word itself does not send (or receive) e-mail messages. You may configure Word to be your e-mail editor, but it still requires an e-mail program (such as MS Outlook) to send messages.

You can send e-mails from within Word by using File, Send To, Mail Recipient (or Mail Recipient as Attachment), but this still uses Outlook to do the sending and receiving.

well my cousin convinced my mom that she needed microsoft access so he brings over microsoft office 2000 and installs it... including everything im pretty sure, i wasnt here when it happened. but he installed word outlook excel powerpoint and access, but we already have the 2003 version of everything except access. and now the old microsoft outlook (2000) has taken over all email rights, as in the links from start menu and internet explorer. So is there a way to get rid of all of microsoft office 2000 except for access? Because when i tried uninstalling microsoft office 2000 it said are you sure you want to uninstall all components? so i wasnt sure so i clicked cancel, well hopefully that made sense, and please help!

Hi, I just acquired Windows 2000 installation disk with SP4 & COA.

I'd been using Dell's XP and prior to that Win-98, both of which have been torture for me, so I decided to finally try 2000, because so many people said they had least problems with 2000.

Does Microsoft have any phone support hotline for help with conversion & transferring files from my present XP system to Windows 2000?

Also, please note that the latest [unresolved] problem I've had has been this: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt-2000-xp/537720-safe-me-rtf-convert-6-a.html

Ever since I reinstalled XP months ago, I haven't yet had occasion to open Wordpad documents that I'd backed up onto my zip disks. Seems some of them had been done using Win 6.0.

Now that I tried, it's kicking out an error message:

can't load Word for Windows 6.0 files.
So I'm wondering whether those files are transferrable to 2000.

The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server. (Account: 'mail.interkey.net', SMTP server 'mail.interkey.net', Error Number: 0x800cccof).

Ok what does this mean and why can't he send mail from home but can receive it. At the office he has no problem with either.

I have built a data base and used macros for the command buttons. While in the design view I converted the macros on each form to visual basic going to "tools, macros, convert macros."
It worked great on all the forms except one. The form I use to preview reports the macro conversion failed.
I manually entered the VB code. I continually get an error message saying "cannot locate macro".
I deleted form, re-generated it writing code for the command buttons.
STILL get the error message saying "cannot locate macros".
What did I do wrong and how do I fix this?

Hello,
I have a very old Dell computer and am using Windows XP I recently had to completely start over and reinstall Windows XP. I Re-installed my Microsoft Office 2000 and everything seemed fine, Til I was using Frontpage to create a Website and Frontpage would not save my images and I could not get them to upload on my website. So, I tried Microsoft Frontpages Detect and Repair... that did not work so, I tried to re-install Microsoft office and now itI won't reinstall This is what I get:

ERROR 1095 ERROR READING FROM FILE
E:\PFiles\MSPffice? 1033XLMAIN9.CHM
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it

How do I fix this? Would really Help on this, I Desparately need to get my website Finished and I am most comfortable using FrontPage!

A:Need help with Microsoft Office 2000

First of all, are you sure of the error number? I can only find reference to error 1305 but not 1905.

Secondly, the path you quoted in the error message is garbled. I believe it should read:

E:\PFiles\MSOffice\Office\1033\XLMAIN9.CHM

Just note that when seeking help it's important to provide accurate information.

This can be a problem with the CD being dirty so try cleaning it and then reinstall. When cleaning, never go in a circular motion which many tend to do but rather go from the middle outwards.

Safe Mode enables Outlook to detect and either repair or bypass the source of the problem, such as a corrupted registry or a misbehaving add-in. When Outlook boots in Safe Mode, it displays a dialog box explaining the problem and asks if you want to continue to load the program in Safe Mode or attempt a normal restart.

You can start Outlook 2002 or any other Office XP application in Safe Mode at any time: Hold down the [Ctrl] key when starting Outlook. The program displays a dialog box that gives you the option of starting in Safe Mode. Another way to start in safemode is to launch the program using the following command line switch: Outlook.exe /safe

Once Outlook starts in Safe Mode, go to Help | About Microsoft Outlook, and click Disabled Items. This opens a Disabled Items dialog box that lists the items that Outlook has disabled to start in Safe Mode. You can then attempt to correct the problem--for example, disable or remove an add-in.

Hope this helps you solve your issue.

You need to reinstall it from the setup CD. There are a lot of configuration settings that must be made to your registry, and I don't think anybody is going to know all the settings to be made, if you think you are going to do it manually.

I have Microsoft 2000 Professional installed and one program entitled Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Premium takes up approx 390 megabytes on my hard drive............I don't use it, what effect on my system will it have if I remove this program..........I am hurting for space.............thanks in advance, Andy

A:Microsoft Office 2000

Microsoft Office 2000 is basically Microsoft Word, Excel, Access (etc) in one suite. Removing Microsoft Office will remove those programs too. (considering you have only 300-odd Mb installed it looks like you installed just the basic files, Office usually is about 600Mb fully installed)

(EDIT: Just properly read what you typed. Office Premium is the same as Office Professional, but with extra programs. If you uninstall Office Premium then you may create problems since both Office Suites uses the same directory. Safest solution is to uninstall both Offices and then reinstall the Office Suite you want)

Try running the Disk Cleanup to help you remove unnescessary files like Temporary Files and Temporary Internet Files. Also determine you have any other programs that you don't really need, like if you have Windows Media Player and WinAmp, both does the same function, so choose which one you don't want.

Also if you have a CD Writer, backup any files you want to keep, i.e MP3s, AVIs or MPEGs (the most common and massive files) or your documents so you can delete them from your hard drive once you back them up on a CD.

Other than that, you may want to consider a new drive.

Hope that helps.

You'll be able to get it by running Repair on your installation. That is one of the files that is installed with Publisher.

You'll need your Cd, though.
I have attached the file in this post though. I renamed it to pubole9.txt. When you download it, rename it to pubole9.dll and make sure it goes in your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office folder.

If it is any consolation, I'm seeing the same thing on two of my systems, one running XPHome SP2, and the other running XPPro SP2. And it is only on certain web sites. And it only started about two weeks ago on the web sites. Previous to this they were fine. I run my anti-spyware programs religiously - AdAware, Spybot S&D, XSoftSpy, and the Microsoft one. Also did an AVG scan.

Strange thing is once I hit the Cancel button about four or five times - one for each window that pops up - if I exit IE then open it back and go to the same page, the phenomenon does not happen again.

For once I'm without an answer.

Hi all,

I'm having some trouble with Office 2000 pro and I don't have the CD anymore.
Word got deleted or uninstalled by mistake. I took Winword and put it on my desk top and used that for abit but know when I open it, it says that there is a compile problem with the winword.
I'd like to be able to download Office 2000 pro again, but can't find where you can do that.

I've also had some viruses and Malicous progams on my comp that might have also messed up winword. As well as a few other programs, which I'm slowly trying to fix.

There is no download of Word 2000 Pro without the cd. MS has the licensing thing going with this. Looks like you might have to use a friend's computer for that part of your homework if you don't either find your disk or purchase another one.

A:Microsoft Word 2000 and pdm.dll or is it .d11 ????

That would be PDM.DLL not .d11 . You can also look for PDM.* to see if any others are found. If still not found, go to Windows Explorer>View>Options and make sure "Show all files" is selected. Try the search again in case it was a "hidden" file.

A:Microsoft Word 2000

If you haven't installed any new software that might replace VBE6.dll, then this can be caused by a corrupt Normal.dot.

Exit Word, locate Normal.dot and rename it to OldNormal.dot. Word will create a new one upon starting. (Also note that reinstalling does not recreate this file)

If this resolves the problem you can copy any customizations from
OldNormal.dot via the Organizer (Tools/Templates and Add-Ins). Once this is complete, OldNormal.dot can be discarded.

Now if the problem reappears after copying any macros you have then it is possible that a macro is the problem.

If you have installed new software or if recreating Normal.dot doesn't rectify the problem then you might try renaming VBE6.dll and allow Word to automatically repair itself by going opening the VBA editor after it is renamed. Note that you may need to rename VBE6.dll at a DOS prompt and close all applications.

Thanks everybody for previous help..I have purchased another PC..Can anyone advise this amateur how I can get my favourite `OUTLOOK 2000` Mail service transferred from the old PC to my new one ?.
Many thanks....jon2891.

A:Microsoft Outlook 2000

What version of outlook were you using on your old pc?
Also, I am not too clear on what exactly you would like to transfer but I will answer with a few assumptions.

If you have the same version of outlook on the old and the new computer you can company the outlook data file by doing the following:

Old PC
1. Open Outlook
2. Go to File
3. Data File Management
4. Click on Open Folder
5. Copy the .pst file (it should be outlook.pst) to a floppy disk or a memory Key.

New PC
1. Retrieve the outlook.pst file from the storage media floppy disk or memory key.
2. Point outlook.pst file to the default file location it should be something like this C:\Documents and Settings\jon2891\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst (Note: if you can't find the folder Local Settings you need to turn on the option to display hidden folders)
3. If you are prompted to replace the file say yes.

I hope this helps. Please reply it did not help.

You may not have sufficient memory or Hard Disk space for the install process to work succesfully or may have an antivirus application running." There is 18gig of drive space available and ample memory.

I'm wondering if there is still components of the first installation resident which are some how halting the re-installation.

I would appreciate guidance on this.

I notice you did not comment on the third possibility listed. Did you forget to turn off your virus checker before the installation? A good idea with troublesome installations is to close out everything except Explorer and Systray by using Ctrl+Alt & Delete. That process not only frees up memory but turns off any program that might interfere with the installation.

it keeps on happening, it doesn't happen when I print any other kinds of documents only envelopes, I can't understand why this is happening, I can print everything else without a problem.

What must I do if I have lost the CD key for my Office 2000? By this I mean that I wrote it down on paper, and cannot find it now.

Is there anyway to find it on the already installed version?
Thanks for any help...

You could download and run Belarc and it should display all installed software and associated Product Keys if required. It is good to print this report and keep it handy for future reference.

Also I believe the information is stored under these Registry locations as "ProductKey" Detail:
Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Installer\Products

or

Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products

Let us know if that helps you.

Sometimes you cannot delete a temp file because you have something open that may be connected. I would not worry about that. Eventually you will be able to delete.

Renaming normal.dot does not work in all cases, but it does in many if you are having trouble opening Word.

First try running spybot and then adaware. If you still cannot open Word, rename normal.dot. If you are concerned about renaming the file, don't be. Word detects that your normal. dot is not present and automatically creates a new one.

However, if you have created any special toolbars, etc. they will no longer be there and you will need to recreate.

If all that doesn't work, I'd post again for more suggestions.
