trouble accessing certain sites.

Q: trouble accessing certain sites.

i cant seem to access any of the microsoft sites from my computer (hotmail, microsoft.com, msn, etc) nor anything off of yahoo. i can go to yahoo.com but none of the links work, i click them and i get a blank page. this is also true for several other sites. i have reinstalled my computer already and called microsoft tech support. they claim it to be a spyware issue, but im pretty sure my computer is clean. i dont have any firewalls or blockers of that sort. my dad's laptop though, can access those sites from our connection, but my mom's laptop seems to suffer from the same problem. could someone attempt to troubleshoot this?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:having trouble accessing certain sites

It could be some sort of malware.
First thing to try is accessing the site in Internet Explorer. Then you need to make sure your computer is free of viruses!

I am having the same problem regarding accessing secure sites. I did all of the steps above but still doesnt' work. I checked out the suggested link that helped resolved someone else problem- http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...;EN-US;Q318815-but that won't work for me because it is for windows 2k. I'm running xp pro, sp2. I did have norton 04 installed on computer a while back but it has been uninstalled for quite a while and now I am running CA virus protection. Is it possible that some of the old norton files are hiding somehwhere? Any other ideas for fixing this Bleeping computer? Thanks!Mod Edit: This was split from the topic, Can't Access Secure Sites, Browser won't connect. ~tg

It would not hurt to run the Norton Removal Tool. I would also do a search for symantec, norton.http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...005033108162039

Uninstall it and reinstall it again. You might not have it set up right as in where it's being ask to download to/folder.

If you still have this problem try other Program like Bearshare

And see if you still have this problem, then you will know it's just may be winMx it's self. Also with Hostile host/clients they may block your Ip if your trying to click on 100 hosts for files at once.

I'm running windows xp professional, and I've been having trouble accessing web-based email services (hotmail, yahoomail, and also a private microsoft exchange server web interface) from my computer. I've tried using both firefox and internet explorer. When attempting to load my hotmail or yahoo inbox in ie, the page simply never loads. When I try in Firefox, I get an error message that reads "the document contains no data." I am able to access my inbox at the exchange server, but am unable to send emails.

I also can't access my online banking (fleet.com), and have had trouble posting to some tech support forums. I thought it was a problem with secure sites, but I am able to access some secure sites.

All of these services are fully available from a friend's computer running on the same internet connection, through the same router, so it's a problem specific to my machine. Any help?

Any chance you have a Linksys BEFSX41 (Or whatever with the firewall), and just updated the Firmware? The Linksys 1.51 firmware WON'T WORK with DSL. You need to go back to 1.45 - OR disable the firewall in 1.51's firmware (that sure is stupid!!!).

This is a known Linksys issue. If you are not using a Linksys - I have no clue...

Have pinged this and they are online... Have tried flushing DNS and this doesn't help either.

Hi, I'm very new to this so would appreciate any advice or help.
When I use IE (under Vista) it will access HTTPS(secure) sites but not HTTP sites.
Why? Are there some settings I need to alter.
I can access HTTP sites with Firefox

Hi, niallmccormick, and welcome to the forums.

Can you be more specific? Is here an error message you are encountering, either from IE or from another program? A screen shot would be helpful....

What happens when you first open IE?

I did read THIS.But before I did I already fixed the problem of not being able to visit secure Microsoft sites by pasting-regsvr32 softpub.dllregsvr32 wintrust.dll regsvr32 initpki.dllregsvr32 dssenh.dll regsvr32 rsaenh.dll regsvr32 gpkcsp.dllregsvr32 sccbase.dllregsvr32 slbcsp.dll regsvr32 cryptdlg.dllinto a CMD window. After pasting them in,a bunch of tiny windows appeared saying they all migrated successfully.A little later one popped up alone saying it migrated OK.This fixed the problem.I can visit secure Microsoft sites now.It seems like it acted similar to sfc /scannow.Any thoughts on why it worked?

A:Accessing Microsoft Sites

Why it worked? Ok when you went thru and put the lines into the run and executed them you actually re-registered them into the registry. These are or where files that were not properly setup and now are.

You did a good job doing this and are to be commended.

Hey mate,

What antivirus program are you using? If you're using one you installed or it was preinstalled, and if you don't mind, just for the case of fully troubleshooting, I'd like you (at least temporarily) to remove it, which will force your computer to use the built-in Defender AV for now. BUT - remove it with an uninstaller. Revo Uninstaller Free works great, and sometimes the AV website itself offers a tool to remove it. Don't worry, Defender will protect your computer just fine, but may require a restart after you remove any other AV installed. Double-check that you've removed ALL AV programs, protections, toolbars, etc.

Reset IE completely: How to reset Internet Explorer settings ENSURING that you also delete personal settings by clicking the checkbox. If you have things you do not want to lose, then save them via export/import (import after we finish troubleshooting): Internet Explorer - Import and Export Favorites - Windows 7 Help Forums

Make sure ALL important and recommended MS updates are installed via control panel. Restart computer.

Run an antimalware program that is free, and widely regarded as one of the best. Select the free version, and after the install, uncheck the 30 day trial period to ensure you get the complete free version: https://www.malwarebytes.org/
Update it, and let it 'threat scan' your computer. If it finds anything, select to quarantine. Let me know how this goes, and we'll continue if you still have problems.

PS - never pay to have your computer repaired by a couple guys when you can have a large group of congregating nerds online at your disposable, for free.

Please download HijackThis. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required). This program will help us determine if there is any spyware/malware on your computer.

I don't know if anyone uses sites like Swagbucks or Irazzoo but if someone does, possibly you'd know how to correct what is happening.
In IE I am able to see the slider on Swagbucks - in FF and Chrome it isn't even there.
I am only able to access Radium One on Chrome but I am not able to see the videos a lot of the time.
In Gambit, only some of the videos will play in Chrome but not at all in IE or FF.
And in some cases, linked pages won't load at all.
I'd really appreciate any assistance in this.
Thanks!

Hi A few months ago I noticed that when accessing some sites the screen turns black if the mouse is in the quot client area of the window quot and returns to normal when the mouse is above the client area This happened with the quot World Market quot tab of the CNN website Today Jan the same happens for the Google site when using the quot Chrome quot browser but not when using IE On my second computer using Windows this does not happen regardless of the browser used accessing sites some Black when screen I assume that I have to rule out any hardware problem because the problem occurs only when accessing some sites and only if the mouse is in the quot client area quot of the windows Is it linked to the operating system to the browser to a quot flash quot interface Black screen when accessing some sites or a combination of those Maybe I should change some set-up but what Any idea Thanks in advance Regards hwarnant

Make sure you have the latest Adobe flash for each of your browsers.
What is the make and model# of your computer? If you continue to have problems, try updating your video card driver from the computer manufacturers support/download drivers site. Type in your make and model #.

I cant seem to sign into my messenger account using the new messenger live service, when i press the sign in button it tries to sign in as per usual then comes up with the message 'sorry could not change your display name' (or something to that effect) then it gives me the 80072745 error "there may be a problem with your internet connection" yet i can still surf the web.

I can manage to sign in with older versions of msn but cannot access my email inbox as it gives me an 'http 400 - Bad request" error "the page cannot be found"etc.

Also, just going to myspace.com results in big bold letters saying "Bad Request (Invalid Verb)"

any help is much appreciated.

Hi to the group
I have a very strange problem with IE8, but it is also the same in Google Chrome and Firefox so it is not a browser problem.

IE8 works perfectly and loads all sites perfectly except two!!! One is eBay UK and the other is a Google group. To show how crazy this is is to tell you that eBay US works perfectly.

I have noticed that when I try to load those two sites the address does not enter the address bar as for all other sites. After about 20 seconds the "cannot access this page appears".

This is what I've tried:

1) Disabling my firewall to try to load this. Without success.
2) Clearing cache
2) Other browsers

It is driving me crazy. Can anyone help.

Thanks to anyone who thinks about it for me!!

A:[SOLVED] Problems accessing some sites

Hi larrylustig and welcome to TSF.

Have you checked your Host file?

First you need to check that you have hidden files and folders showing and not hidden (default)

Control Panel>Folder Options>View tab>check Show Hidden Files and Folders

Now navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\Hosts Use Notepad to view the contents of the Hosts file. Make sure that there is no mention of ebay or the Google Group there. If you are not sure, then it is safe to post it here for us to look at.

Hi
I have a Belkin wireless router, l have 2 PC's connected to it and both cant get into selected sites - UK lottery being just one of many

Can anyone tell me if there are any settings in the router that can be altered to allow access to sites that l cant currently get in to

Both PC's worked fine before going wireless now both have the same problem - I have set IE settings to the minimum on everything but it makes no difference so l am assuming it has something to do with the router settings

Thanks in advance

A:Problem Accessing Some Sites Via Belkin

Can you check that you definitely have a connection by going to another site that you have never visited before? Sometimes it can seem like the connection is working, when actually its just getting the pages from your cache. (Although, if you posted that message from one of the PC's then you definitely have a connection).

If you are definitely connected, but you can't see some specific sites, I would struggle to help. If you don't have any software that might be interfering (pop up blockers / firewall / virus / spyware / adware / cookie blocker / any software that basically blocks a site if it doesn't like something about it), then its most likely a setting in the router. I once had that issue and someone fixed it for me, but I forgot what its called... If I remember, I'll post back.

A few weeks ago I mistakenly downloaded a slew of trojans and malware. I couldn't access the Zonelab site to update my Antivirus and in fact I can't access any security site to download corrective software.
I went out and bought Norton hoping that an actual physical CD rom would help, and it did a little bit, but I still can't activate Norton or download any security software.

Any suggestions?
thanks

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (v1.41) and save it to your desktop.alternate download link 1alternate download link 2MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the definition updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen:Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.Exit MBAM when done.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. If you cannot use the Internet or download any required programs to the infected machine, you are going to need access to another computer (family member, friend, library etc) with an Internet connection. Save mbam-setup.exe to a flash (usb, pen, thumb, jump) drive or CD, transfer it to the infected machine, then install and run the program. If you cannot transfer to or install on the infected machine, try running the setup (installation) file directly from the flash drive or CD by double-clicking on mbam-setup.exe so it will install on the hard drive. If you cannot copy files to your usb drive, make sure its not "Write Protected". Some flash drives have a switch on the side which could have accidentally been moved to write protect.

I recently purchased a compaq with vista home premium on it. I am using DSL, and I am using IE.

What my problem is not being able to access sites. I can access sites only if my land phone is turned on. Which is also the line I am using for the DSL.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I sent my ISP an email the other day, but so far no reply.

Needless to say I am getting very frustrated about this.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Greetings,

What should I do in order to prevent a web site or web page from closing after trying to access another? For instance, whenever I click on a link within an email or another web site, the previous web site or web page disappears. In other words, I am only able to access one web site at a time.
This problem came up when my computer was invaded and hijacked by spyware which I was able to get rid of. However, I kept encountering the above mentioned problem.
I would appreciate any assistance to resolve the problem. Thank you in advance.

I was advised by someone on the Microsoft Answers Forum to "Try spoofing IE7 in Vista User Agent strings to "fool" the sites into thinking you're not running IE8. See http://www.enhanceie.com/ua.aspx " and it worked. I was able to get into both site with no problem. The site explains the process. I actually used the XP IE7 spoof.

A:Solved: Problem accessing certain sites - possible spyware?

Logs look clean,
I would start w/ the basics... clean out your temp folder and Internet Temporary Folder both safe to delete everything in it. then I would flush DNS
from a command window (start-->run-->cmd) type ipconfig /flushdns
if that fails. ping the website from the command windows. in return it will give you an IP address. enter the IP address on the address bar. it they come up that way they your having DNS problems.. so its not resolving the DNS name to the IP

Hi guys/gals,

I have a computer in the other room for my brothers and kids to use, it has full access to the internet. It uses Windows XP, and I've made two users for it, one for the elder brother, which is over 18 and I don't care what he sees and gets from the Internet, and another user, which I only install Firefox. The users for this account are two girls, age 10 and 12.

Believe it or not, they search using Google and they've learn it by them selves . The problem is now, since they are using search engines, they play games, search keyword 'games' and stuff, I know that someday they will reach pornographic or 18 rated sites.

Please help me to handle this situation. What should I install to prevent them from accessing these sites before its too late.

Thanks.

A:Error while A-updating windows & accessing MS sites

Hi Alyans, Welcome to TSF!

It's interesting to note that you have Service Pack 3 on your machine.

Service Pack 3 has only just beeen released as a RC1 item for Beta Testing by Microsoft?.
The RC1 means Release Candidate 1 which is the first stage of tesing and should not be used by the general public as it is bound to have some flaws, such as the issues that you are experiencing here.
My recommendation would be to un-install this Service Pack 3, unless you are an IT Professional or Registered Beta Tester for Microsoft?..the way to do this would be to use System Restore back to a date/time before you installed this Service Pack 3.
The fact that this alleged "Service Pack 3" came from a third party site would ring alarm bells to me as it has not been offically released for general use by Microsoft?, and is not likely to be so until mid 2008.
This so called SP3 that you have could be made up with some very sinister glitches that could cause irrepairable damage to you Windows? XP installation.

So get rid of it via the method suggested, and report back if the issues are fixed or not.

Kind Regards,

I have tried using combofix to check for malware on all 3 computers, and that didn't work. I have tried changing the MTU. the highest my MTU goes is 1492... i tried 1462, 1400, even 576 as one site and lots of people reported was working. Doesn't work.

I even tried looking at the Host file, and that's fine too. I'm at my wits end.

Hello. I am PropagandaPanda (Panda or PP for short), and I will be helping you with your log.I apologize for the delay in response. We get overwhelmed with logs at times, but we are trying our best to keep up. If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following so I can have a look at the current condition of your machine. You may want to keep the link to this topic in your favourites. Alternatively, you can click the button at the top bar of this topic and Track this Topic, where you can choose email notifications. The topics you are tracking are shown here. Please take note of some guidelines for this fix:Refrain from making any changes to your computer including installing/uninstall programs, deleting files, modifying the registry, and running scanners or tools. Doing so could cause changes to the directions I have to give you and prolong the time required. Further more, you should not be taking any advice relating to this computer from any other source throughout the course of this fix.If you do not understand any step(s) provided, please do not hesitate to ask before continuing. I would much rather clarify instructions or explain them differently than have something important broken.Even if things appear to be better, it might not mean we are finished. Please continue to follow my instructions and reply back until I give you the "all clean". We do not want to clean you part-way, only to have the system re-infect itself. Finally, please reply using the button in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Do not start a new topic. The logs that you post should be pasted directly into the reply. Only attach them if requested or if they do not fit into the post.Download and Run ATFCleanerPlease download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program will clear out temporary files before we run OTScanIt. You will likely be logged out of the forum where you are recieving help. This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only.Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.Under Main Select Files to Delete choose: Select All.Click the Empty Selected button. If you use any other browsers, select them appropriately from the top and empty all items.Download and Run OTScanItDownload OTScanIt by OldTimer to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.Open the OTScanIt folder and double-click on OTScanIt.exe to start the program. If you are running on Vista then right-click the program and choose Run as Administrator.Check the Scan all users box at the top left.Click the Extras button under "Additional Scans".Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar. When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.Close Notepad (saving the change if necessary).Use the Add Reply button in the forum and Attach the scan back here (do not copy/paste it as it will be too big to fit into the post). It will be located in the OTScanIt folder and named OTScanIt.txt.Download and Run Scan with GMERWe will use GMER to scan for rootkits.Download gmer.zip and save to your desktop.Unzip/extract the file to its own folder. I tried accessing my HD [with xp on it] from my dead desktop through a usb interface to my laptop. got access, then tried to start xp through usb but it failed. tried to get into win 7 boot menu to change to dual boot, had to change permissions but it still failed. tried to reverse permissions but got many error messages, canceled and then restarted computer, would not start. used a win 7 disc to get into restore and restored to this morning before O did anything to computer. Now I cannot access device manager and many other programs get error message "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
tried to install speedy but got error message "shellexecuteex failed; code 5.
access is denied"
any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend you download D7 (download link near bottom of page), and once open navigate to "Maintenance" and find "Repair Permissions" (Edit: they keep updating this program and mine is out of date, "repair permissions" might be under another section by now, just look around). That takes a long time to run but should be successful in resetting all your permissions the way they should be.

Also note: You cannot boot Windows using a different computer than it was installed on. Whenever you change the motherboard or the CPU it is necessary to re-install Windows. You should still be able to retrieve all your files as necessary, however. Also note that in the future attempting to boot to a USB device should probably be done by using the BIOS's Boot Menu rather than configuring Windows Boot Manager.

Well maybe try this. Tools>options>trusted sites>sites and add it. Or

Tools>options>security >local intranet and set to medium.

Since last night, I've been having trouble accessing Google and Gmail. At times it will load and then it will display an error message saying the connection was reset. This happens in both Firefox and IE8 and also on my Mac. This also only happens at night (both Google and Gmail work fine during the day). All other websites work fine.

I've restarted my computer, cleared my cache, and reset the modem but nothing seems to be working. I use Windows 7 and my internet provider is HughesNet.

I friend of mine recently removed some maleware from my computer (he is much more computer savy that I). However, after removing the maleware I am having problems with loging into sites where I have a password using both IE or Firefox. For intance, I can pull up the webpage for my bank, but I get an IE error message "page cannot be displayed" when I try to click through to my account (this is the same for my airline and school web accounts) or a Firefox error message "The connection was refused when trying to access...". I also have trouble with accessing pages where I need to download - such as Microsoft.com and downloading service pack SP2 - express install - it gives me [Error number: 0x8024502D].

Please help.

Hey everyone,
I'm a new member... and I reeeaalllyyy need your help. My parents just got me a new laptop and it has Windows 7 on it. I'm entirely at a loss when it comes to this system... so I figured this forum looked promising. I'm having trouble accessing just this ONE website. Everytime I type in the address or even when I access it through google search, I always get a message concerning the connectivity or "broken link". I had a few friends trying going on it and they don't have this problem.

If I can get any suggestions at all that can help me out, I'll thank you all very much!

This is kind of an odd problem and I've tried looking for a solution online but I'm not quite sure how to search.

Basically my computers a couple of years old and I've never had any problems like this with it before, I run XP home with SP 1.

I have a cd writer, and a dvd drive, and I just noticed today that I cannot access either of them. When I went into my hardware profile/device manager
not only are the specific drives not listed I have no general entrie for CD/DVD drives, so I can't even try to reinstall them.

Anyone ever had a similar problem or know where I can look for a solution?

Thanks!

I'm trying to go on to http://www.guitarshredshow.com, but when I try, I receive the typical "operation timed out" error, BUT the site background, title, and little URL-window-icon show up. this is probably because the site's an Angelfire domain and i can never get on those, i think because i live in China and either China has banned, or has been banned by Angelfire. so anyway, is there any way i can access this site? i've tried using proxify but that didn't work. any help will be much appreciated, thanks!

A:Having trouble accessing a site..

sorry, would have edited but i took too long - i've confirmed that angelfire is indeed banned by china's great firewall, so now my question is if there's any way to access the site through the national firewall? OR if some kind, knowledgeable soul would mind saving the flash app on the website and mailing it to me at superdigg-at-gmail.com?

Wait for the trace to complete, then right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.

I have a Dell desktop with wifi. It can see the AP (very strong signal), but it cannot access the internet ("limited conductivity"). I tried cycling power on the modem and AP which helped temporarily. Reboot does nothing. There are 3 other notebooks that have full access to the internet thru wifi to the same AP and cable modem.

The Dell has Vista op sys, and I've run thru all the diagnostics with no real solution. This pc normally uses a wired connection with no problem.

What should I look at to get this going?

Thx

I know this HAS to be a setting on my laptop or chrome browser somewhere. I'm the only one having a problem here on the same router and it happens to me on my laptop AND my android phone. It doesn't happen on other devices connected to the same router. My error is:

ERR_QUIC_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Happens when searching on Google, trying to access gmail, youtube, or any other Google related site.

I have already tried:

1. Deleting chrome and re-installing.
2. Resetting defaults in Chrome.
3. Flushing DNS.
4. Releasing and renewing DNS.
5. Disabling the QUIC protocol
6. Turning off all extensions in Chrome.
7. Turning off anti-virus.
and more and more.

This started when my old router died and CenturyLink replaced it. Anyone have any ideas??

A:Problem accessing Google related Sites only since new router installed

1. Does it only happen in Chrome?

Whenever my computer updates itself, I have problems accessing the internet. Specifically... whenever I open Firefox or Internet explorer, I can access the internet for a very limited time, then nothing. For example, I can visit one, maybe two pages, then I can't access anything, until I restart the computer. To solve this problem, I have to do a system restore.... if I restore my system to a point to say, 2 - 4 weeks earlier, the problem goes away. But I don't think this will work forever. Any advice will be appreciate. Thanks.

A:Trouble accessing internet after updates

There is an underlying issue here. Is your Windows legit? Run a scan with MBAM. Is your hosts file clean? Run a scan iwth Kaspersky TDSS Killer, run the System File Checker.

I get an error, saying it is likey that I either typed the wrong address, am not connected to the internet, or the site is temporarily unavailable...all of which are not possible.
and ideas?

Whenever I try to access some folders, Such as My Pictures, and other folders on my hard drive; my entire Windows Explorer freezes up as I try to scroll through the list of files. I've also noticed that it only does it in thumbnail view. I usually end up having to cntl+alt+delete and ending task. Then waiting for Windows Explorer to boot back up. Any ideas why my folders freeze up?

A:[SOLVED] Trouble Accessing Folders

did you try a different view. have you got lots of files stored in that particular folder.
my recomendation would be is to go to your local c drive and make a new folder called pictures and copy all the data there and remove the previous folder. this should speed it up.
also go to start all programs, accessories, system tools, disk defragment and defrag your hard drive.

right click on you c drive or if could be d just check click, choose properties, choose the tools tab, click check now for error, it will ask you to restart and choose yes. when your pc start up or boots it will give a blue screen and will check the files not the blue screen of death.
also what antivirus and antspyware are you using and have you scanned your pc lately. i say this because malware can use the explorer atribute.
i would also recommend using process explorer but not now just try some of the aboe suggestion , then get back to me.

When I try accessing a spreadsheet via its short cut I get 3 error messages before some spreadsheets will load. Example.
First try I get "C:\documents.xls could not find spreadsheet"

Second try I get "and.xls could not find spreadsheet"

Third try I get "settings\dad\desktop\2007ACC.xls could not find spreadsheet"

Forth try I finally get the spreadsheet sometimes.

These error messages come up on every spreedsheet. In some I can't access the spreadsheet at all.

Someone had the solution but I lost it and can't seem to find it again.

Hello:
I have a USR8700 (NAS) storage server. I can initiate the storage system console from my desktop and see the MAC address, IP Address, & Subnet mask. The problem I have, I was troubleshooting another issue and changed a setting. Once that changed, I cannot access the admin page to reset the setting back, nor can I access the NAS from another computer. To explain it, I had my "workgroup" named. I changed the toggle from "Get an IP address automatically" to "Use this IP Address", set an IP address in, and applied.

Now I cannot access the admin page to switch it back to obtaining an IP automatically.

Can anyone shed some insight as to a solution?

ANY help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Recently I have had problems accessing particular websites and certain programs and other auto redirects. I have attempted to perform a system restore but everytime I attempt to open the program a blank white screen appears. Also I cannot access hotmail.com and site links don't automatically appear in new windows. The last and most confusing thing to me is the different windows I have open do not appear on the start bar so I can toggle between them.

Errors I have Noticed:

1. Padexe.exe -- always sends an error report at every restart
2. The System Event Log shows many recent errors:
A. srservice event 104
B. srservice event 110
(These are notable to but I have many recent errors)

Thanks for you help!

Hi,

I'm trying to download, open, and log-in to Options360, a proprietary platform of TDAmeritrade. If successful, I should get an icon on my desktop from which to open subsequent uses of the platform. I have not been able to get the icon on my desktop yet. I can get to the login screen, but I get a message that says I am already logged in, yet if I try any of the applications in the program, none of them work.

I did talk with a techie at TD who said that Options360 will run with 32bit Vista, but not 64. But from my research, Vista64 has WoW64 which should allow the program to run (correct?).

I'm not a techie of any sort, I just want the program to work so I can use it for a class I'm taking with them, but they seem to be unable to help me.

Anyone run into this who can help?

Thanks
