I am in the process of Browser problem cookie/java fixing a Spyaxe Browser cookie/java problem infection thanks to some wonderfull folks here But Browser cookie/java problem I have noticed the following problem when I go to certain websites now I get this warning and the page won't fully load Right now your browser's settings are configured to disable cookies and or javascript In order to access your account you must change your browser's settings to accept both cookies AND javascript How do I change my browser settings This depends on the browser you're using If you are getting a message asking if you want to accept cookies choose Yes Otherwise we Browser cookie/java problem recommend that you click the quot Help quot button at the top of your browser in order to learn how to properly accept cookies and javascript You'll most likely be able to enable these settings by locating the Security and or Privacy tabs found within quot Internet Options quot in your browser's quot Tools quot pull-down window I've gone to the Security and or Privacy tabs found within quot Internet Options quot and I can't find the solution they suggest How do I reconfigure my browser settings to allow java and cookies Thanks in advance for all help and advice

Preferred Solution: Browser cookie/java problem

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, everybody. I've recently been working on a website that requires I have a certain cookie on the browser in order for me to go to one of it's important pages. I think I accidentally deleted this cookie, and I need to know what to do to get the cookie back on.

Thank you.

I visited both of these Java test websites with both of my browsers, IE 6 and Firefox 1.0.4.http://www.javatester.org/http://www.bodo.com/javame.htmBoth tell me the same thing: that both of my browsers can run JavaScript, but that neither can run Java applets. And as far as I can tell, both browsers are configured to do so -- that is, the settings in the Preferences dialogs are set to use it, but Java applets just aren't running.I believe I'm using Java 1.4.2.How can I fix this?

Well in Firefox 1.0.3 the settings are under Tools>Options>Web Features where there is an Enable Java and Enable JavaScript tick box. But I get the feeling you already know that?

Hello all , i've skulked these forums for a while as they're generally helpful so i thought i'd post my predicament on here. For some reason Java refuses to work on any browser whilst trying to play runescape, i've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times but it still refuses to work and comes up with the same error message about my java either being absent from my computer or it's an incredibly old version when infact i downloaded the java straight from the website. any help would be appreciated.

A:Solved: Problem with java while trying to play Runescape on browser

Which version Java have you downloaded? Were old versions completely removed? Are the Java add-ons enabled in your browsers?

JavaRa is a tool that removes old versions of Java Runtime Environment (JRE).
Download\run it prior to downloading\installing JavaJRE v.6 update 30 (build 1.6.0_30-b12)

I would also recommend running current versions of Adobe Flash Player V.11.1.102.55
and the Adobe Shockwave Player v.11.6.3r633 for better gaming.

I have windows XP pro, IE8,

I like to play chess on Pogo.com, I have the login set to "remember me".
When logged in I click tools, internet options, and delete browser history, I get a popup that has a few check boxes. All but the top one is checked, Then I click delete, close the browser, and open a new browser, and go to pogo I am still logged in! (this never used to happen I had to login every time I went to the site!

My google account is set to remember me, which it does, unless I delete the history and clear the cookies. (pogo is the only one that stays logged in!

Can someone help me fix this?

I know my way around the computer 1 - 10 probably a 8 or 9. I have ran a ad-aware, and avast (Full scan.)

Thanks in advance

My bank wants me to use Java when logging in to my bank account, and my browser (Chrome) wants me to allow Java to start. When I click "always allow on this site" or what ever it says in English, the browser disappears and the Win 8 app panel pops up. Pretty random. Everything works well in Firefox, but this weirdosity happens every time in Chrome.

Suggestions?

Not sure what the deal is here. I usually use Firefox as my browser. But when I go to Fry's.com website. It says enable cookies. I DO have it ALL enabled in Firefox.. I have remember history turned on and enable cookies. Thing is. I have tried Chrome and edge as well and still get the same message. So it can't be Firefox.. I have nothing else on my system blocking cookies. I have even used other PC?s and get the same message. Am I right in thinking it could be an issue with the website I am trying to use as I can sign into any other website and buy stuff. Just not Fry's.com?? any more ideas would be helpful.. thanks.

Two problems have arisen just invader and hijack/redirect browser Cookie this week They Cookie invader and browser hijack/redirect are likely connected but who can tell A short time ago in addition something hit Firefox and erased ALL my bookmarks I haven't found THAT culprit yet either These two are newer I use W SE and Firefox v exclusively I went to a site to sign a petition It always shows up with the correct e-mail address and my zipcode Now it doesn't I get somebody else's e-mail address at aol and a zipcode I know nothing about I erased them and put in the correct info then searched my cookies I found many with geeky symbols that I knew had to be bad news as well as others that looked a bit off Next time my e-mail and zipcode appeared properly - but only for seconds Then it switched to the faked one So I had affected the problem somewhat but apparently there's a malware that can put it right back The other problem is that I Googled a recipe and several of the links I clicked led me to a site beginning with scrippscontroller followed by stuff that had nothing to do with food Ended up on a totally blank page When culling my cookies for the first problem I also culled everything having to do with scrippscontroller Haven't tried to google that recipe again to see if it worked on that Other links to the recipe worked fine Not all got screwed up It seems clear my browser had been hijacked and redirected at least in part So I have some kind of malware for sure and it's doing stuff that supposedly only I can do It seems to be an attack on Firefox but mightn't there be garbage in my registry too How can I find the malware that reinstates what I have just eliminated Thanks And with gratitude for not sneering at SE I have no choice Holly B

A:Your Browser’s Cookie functionality is turned off, Turn It on”

Hello sachin and welcome to Seven Forums.

Everything I was going to suggest, you've already tried. But here are a couple more things you can try. Run a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

See if there are any application conflicts by doing a clean startup (AKA clean boot.)

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

And one of the Forum experts prepared this troubleshooting guide that has some other suggestions.

Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

Perhaps someone else will come along shortly with some additional thoughts.

Hi, is the Java Runtime environment related to the Java that runs in a browser?

If I download and install Java Runtime will I still be able to disable javascript in a browser?

Is it even safe to have Java Runtime on your PC as I am aware that java has a lot of vulnerabilities when it comes to browsers.

The reason I ask is because I need Java Runtime to use DirSyncPro, but given its reputation I'm a bit hesitant.

thanks.

JRE is the Java that runs in your browsers. If DirSyncPro does not run in any browser, you can just disable Java in your browsers.

Hello mephalina00, and welcome to TSF. You may wish to Subscribe to this thread so that you are notified when you receive a reply. To do this click Thread Tools (above the first post), then click Subscribe to this Thread. Make sure it is set to Instant Notification, then click Subscribe.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions. If there is anything you don't understand, please ask BEFORE proceeding with the fixes. Please do these steps in order and do not skip any.

HijackThis Is In Temp Folder
You are running HijackThis from a temporary directory. It needs to be in a permanent folder. Please go into Windows Explorer, click on C: then click on File > New > Folder and call it HJT, or another name of your choice. Extract HijackThis from the archive and move it to this folder. The program creates backup files that we may need to use later. If the program is in a Temporary folder, files may be deleted by you or automatically if your system is set to empty temp files.

Unhide Files
Go to My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab and select "Show hidden files and folders". Uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" option. Also make sure there is no checkmark beside "Hide file extensions for known file types". Click OK.

Download CWShredder
Download CWShredder and run it. Click Check for Update. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and then click OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit.

Download CleanUp!
Download and install CleanUp! but do not run it yet.

WARNING: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of temporary folders and does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any temporary folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp!

WARNING: Do not run cleanup under Windows XP x64 Edition. If you're not sure if you have the 64-bit version of Windows then you probably do not; however, you can check by using IE to download the whichcpu tool and then running it.

Download AVG Anti-Spyware
Please download, install, and update AVG Anti-Spyware Anti-Spyware.Load AVG Anti-Spyware and then click the Shield tab at the topClick on the word active to change it to inactive.

Click the Update tab at the top:Under Manual update, click Start update. After the update finishes, the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful".
Under Automatic update, change the Update interval to something more reasonable like 12 or 24 hours.

Click the Scanner tab at the top and then the Settings sub-tab:Under How to act?, click Recommended actions and select Quarantine.
Under Reports, select Automatically generate report after every scan

Close AVG Anti-Spyware. Do not run a scan with it yet.

Download Brute Force Uninstaller
Please download Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.Right click bfu.zip on your desktop, and choose Extract All. Click "Next".
In the box to choose where to extract the files to, click "Browse".
Click on the + sign next to "My Computer".
Click on "Local Disk (C:) (or whatever your primary drive is).
Click "Make New Folder" and type in BFU. Click "Next".
Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".
RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download the Alcra PLUS Remover. Save it in the same folder you made earlier (i.e., C:\BFU).

Do not do anything with these yet!

Hi there,

Ive recently had an issue with PC's on a domain here at work. They seem to be having cookie problems. Users cant log into email accounts and forums seem to log users out and people have to re-sign in alot.

All the browsers are set to accept cookies, i have checked this on PC's experiencing this problem.

So even though the PC's browsers are accepting cookies, websites dont seem to think they are.. any ideas??

thanks,
Alistair

Gentlemen,

My computer is proteced by -

Norton System Works 2005 Premier.
Ad-Aware SE Personal.
Spybot S & D.
Spyware Blaster.
Spyware Guard.
a2scan.
Kerio Personal Firewall.
MS Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.
TDS-3.

The programmes are updated and used every day.

I also use CleanUp which shows a list of protected cookies. There is a cookie which is not shown in my Norton System Works list of protected cookies.

It is -

go.microsoft.com/serviceswirchung

I have been into Google via IE and Mozilla Firefox and neither search has recognised this cookie. There is no information about it.

Should I delete go.microsoft.com/serviceswirchung ?

A:A cookie problem

When I searched for only the first part, go.microsoft.com, I was taken to this http://search.microsoft.com/search/search....st=b&View=en-us.Which is the search page for Microsoft. Have you visited it lately? I do not know what the last part (serviceswirchung) means. While on the MS search page, I searched for the text using a few variations. Came up empty.

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this question.

I've just installed a new voip router alongside my broadband router and it all worked fine.

Sadly I can't log on to "My Ebay" page and a couple of other sites which I log into, I can access the home pages it's just the log in sections I can't access.

I've tried deleting my cookies in the Internet Options area, but I still can't log in, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do next or what the problem might be?

any help would be really appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

A:Cookie Problem

Hello -

I hate to give you a runaround, but I have my doubts about a cookie issue like that being malware related. I would ask back in Windows section, or in Internet Explorer subforum.

That said, you would need to post logs as indicated in the link provided by Speedster if you want help in this section of the forum. We work from logs as well as issue description.

HijackThis is woefully inadequate for many of today's infections. We don't use it as our initial analysis tool.

We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a
Quote:

Having problems with spyware and pop-ups? First Steps

link at the top of each page.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/f50/...lp-305963.html

After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed. I currently have as many open topics as I can effectively handle; this will have you back in queue with the proper logs so an available helper would be able to assist.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.

Do you use a firewall, you have to allow them there too. Also the cookies you need to allow are called session cookies.

I had some help recently from bleeping regarding a problem getting into my hot mail account on live.com, whilst using my new vista with IE7.
Someone there told me to go into privacy in internet options and choose Medium on the slider - then to add the live.com to the Sites button, then go back into Advanced and select 'Overide Automatic Cookie Handling' and make sure First and Third party cookies are highlighted.
I did all that and it worked!
However following day it was the same. I do have Privacy Keeper installed which removes traces including cookies - would this be the problem. If this is disabled though, wont i be open to cookies?

Or is there another explanation?

A:Cookie Problem With Hot Mail

If another application removes cookies regularly, changing your browser settings to accept certain ones will not have the results you want. You may be able to "protect" certain cookies if Privacy Keeper has such an option.

Does it work with all your settings set to default?
You may have to turn the cookies security to OFF, Ive noticed trouble similar to what you've explained, and I just turned it off, (set to accept all cookies) then I just empty the temp folder after each session.

Hi, I attach my HJT log from today.

I would be grateful if I could get some help with this - though I did run active scan (please see attached) and that said it was a non-severe cookie problem only.

Many thanks

I am using NAV and I'm not able to remove some tracking cookies. When I select "fix", it shows me that the problems were fixed, but if I re-run NAV, they're still present. I have tried turning off system restore and running NAV, but the results are the same. The cookies are: atmdt, realmedia, questionmarket, doubleclick, and one un-named cookie. I realize that these probably aren't too much of a risk, but they're a nuisance and I would like to get them removed

A:Tracking Cookie Problem

Some of those can be associated by sideline ads on some sites. Let's do this...Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop. alternate download link DO NOT use yet. Please download and install SUPERAntiSpyware FreeDouble-click SUPERAntiSypware.exe and use the default settings for installation. An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program. If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the
definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter
any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from
here and
unzip into the program's folder.)Under the "Configuration and Preferences", click the Preferences... button.Click the "General and Startup" tab, and under
Start-up Options, make sure "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts" box is unchecked.Click the "Scanning Control" tab, and under Scanner
Options, make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):Close browsers before scanning.Scan for tracking cookies.Terminate memory threats before quarantining.Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program.Do not run a scan just yet.Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose:
Select All.Click the Empty Selected button. If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select AllClick the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select AllClick the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".Scan with SUPERAntiSpyware as follows:Launch the program and back on the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer. On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive. On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose Perform Complete Scan and click "Next".After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click "Next".A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally. To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor. Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.Click Close to exit the program.

hi
Several websites I visit daily are not saving my information.
I use Firefox 3 and Vista Premiun with SP1
This problem just recently, and I have uninstalled all recent downloaded programs, and cleaned the registry.
In the browser, it states that I will accept all cookies, and there are no exceptions checked
One of my regular sites emailed me that perhaps my cookies are being washed by some program that has a cookie washer in it
May I kindly ask how can I find this 'cookie washer'?
and, do you think that that may be the problem
thanks
peter

I've been having this time for quite some time I.e Problem? 7) 2.0 & Cookie Firefox (ms with both of the browers I mainly use Firefox though It's just this little but absolutely annoying problem that occur on many sites like here for example On many sites where I've got an account to a forum when I log in everything's ok But when I click for example a thread link or something I'm suddenly logged out This usually occurs after one or two clicks So I have to keep logging Cookie Problem? (ms Firefox 2.0 & I.e 7) in again and again on some forums to get even to post any reply or to access some restricted forum areas that would be only available to registered members or so It has helped on some sites Cookie Problem? (ms Firefox 2.0 & I.e 7) accepting the option quot Remember Me quot but still that hasn't been totally able to make the problem Cookie Problem? (ms Firefox 2.0 & I.e 7) go away It helps though not to need login all over again just go quot back quot and click it again Then again other sites it hasn't helped This mostly for different kind of PHP forums Then for my Yahoo Mail account I occasionally get a quot Cookie expired quot error again even if I had just logged in It helps though just to click quot Back quot again But then when I try to login to my hotmail account I dunno what's up with it but I've got more chance to win in the lottery than to get to see the mail there on this PC I write my login amp pass click OK but what I'm most of the time back in the login page It still sometimes takes me to the mail but when I try to open my inbox I get the same all over again back in the login page I've checked my cookie settings for both browsers more than once and they should be all OK I've scanned my PC with several online virus scanners plus a few anti-spyware programs So far with all the stuff found and deleted the problem hasn't still gone away so I'm beginning to wonder that what the hell is the problem I've even reinstalled both browsers couple times with no avail I'm really running out clues here Edit I've also tried manually deleting all cookie files I can find on my system emptying my temp folders Here's my HijackThis log Logfile of HijackThis v Scan saved at on Platform Windows XP SP WinNT MSIE Internet Explorer v Running processes C WINDOWS System smss exeC WINDOWS system csrss exeC WINDOWS system winlogon exeC WINDOWS system services exeC WINDOWS system lsass exeC WINDOWS system Ati evxx exeC WINDOWS system svchost exeC WINDOWS system svchost exeC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS system spoolsv exeC Program Files Common Files EPSON EBAPI SAgent exeC Program Files Ahead InCD InCDsrv exeC Norman Npf BIN NPFSVICE EXEC Norman bin ZANDA EXEC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS system wdfmgr exeC Norman bin NJEEVES EXEC NORMAN Nvc BIN nvcoas exeC NORMAN Nvc BIN nipsvc exeC NORMAN Nvc BIN NVCSCHED EXEC WINDOWS System alg exeC WINDOWS system Ati evxx exeC WINDOWS Explorer EXEC Norman bin ZLH EXEC Program Files Ahead InCD InCD exeC Norman Nvc BIN NIP EXEC Norman Nvc bin cclaw exeC Norman Npf BIN npfmsg exeC WINDOWS system ctfmon exeC Program Files Spybot - Search amp Destroy TeaTimer exeC WINDOWS explorer exeC PROGRA REGRES REGRES EXEC Program Files Mozilla Firefox firefox exeC Norman bin niu exeC Program Files Trend Micro Tmas Tmas exeC PROGRA WINZIP winzip exeC Documents and Settings Disc Local Settings Temp HijackThis exeR - HKCU Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Main Start Page http www soneraplaza fi R - HKLM Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Main Default Page URL http go microsoft com fwlink LinkId R - HKCU Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Main Window Title Microsoft Internet Explorer - toimittaja Sonera Plaza OyR - HKCU Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Internet Settings ProxyServer proxy inet fi R - HKCU Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Internet Settings ProxyOverride fi fi fiR - HKCU Software Microsoft Internet Exp... How do I modify my Vista settings so that it does not erase cookies that I wish to maintain? currently it is maintaining a few but removing some that I wish to maintain.

The cumulative security update for W7 (x64 pro) has been causing me real problems and I couldn't figure out what was happening at first.

All my cookie and login info after performing a browser cleanup isn't now remembered. I can for example enter my details for this site and as soon as I exit IE and log back in all cookie info is gone.

Normally I do a clean up and then import a cookie file with details of perhaps 20 sites on it. This doesn't now work.

Uninstall that update and all is back as it should be.

I have recovered to an Acronis image and currently have installed all updates minus this one.

Anyone else had this issue ?

A:Latest W7 IE9 update seems to cause cookie problem.

I update the same way on my another Windows 7 64bit system.
Everything works fine.
Check to find whether there is any option item been selected after the update.
It's not serious.

Why do I have a cookie problem only when trying to log on to eBay? It keeps telling me that "this computer is not accepting cookies". This is the only site that does this. If I change my password and then try to log on - it accepts it! Are there any settings that I can change to solve this?

Hello, I tried to get help in the HijackThis Log Help forum but was told to come here instead. My problem is my java when you FF will freeze up and become unresponsive. sometime it takes several minutes to come back or it wont at all. The java console does not seem to be working either. It will come up but I don't get any information like I do in IE. I tried to fix as they thought the solution was in their forums but came up empty. I am running the new FF 3.0 with the latest java. I even tried their beta version of java 6.0 update 10.

I have been on the vistaprint.com webpage many times and now all the sudden I am getting the error telling me that I need to enable cookies. My settings are accept 1st party, block 3rd party and allow session. I have restarted IE and rebooted the computer and I keep getting this! I did recently use Registry Easy to clean out as I have been having some sluggish issues and it totally disabled my CA Security Suite and am really hoping that it didn't mess up anything else. I have searched all over and cannot seem to find the problem.

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will assist you with your malware related problems. Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while following my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or add/remove software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. From my laptop i can run a java applet from the web to access our RF application but our RF units (OS:WINDOWS Embedded COmpact 7) we are connecting through RD to the server to access the applet(because we cant run java on these)

Well we are looking to add 10 more scanners but we are looking at other options cause we dont want to have to buy more CALS.

Does anyone have a solution to this??

Our RF application is on our web based server. This will be a local machine within a year.

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

Have you tried to reinstall Java completely? As in removing old version?

I have not been able to access online games because the java used is blocked somehow. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it...and still it doesnt work. According to java.com it is installed properly and must be my browser, and in order for my browser to allowe java, i have to check a certain applet tab under control panel....java....advanced tab. The problem is there is not any such tab. How do I get this such tab so I can have it checked?

Thank you

A:java vs browser

You have to set IE to use JAVA in Internet Options.

Okay, now that ive got my find4u problem fixed, its time to fix the two other things...
1) My cookies...i can't set them so that well i dunno...but if i go somewhere that needs cookies, it always tells me to enable cookies...but ive tried like every setting and they just wont "enable" ive even emailed my internet provider a few times, with no luck....they even sent me a few patches, but they were for windows 98.....so no go there..does anyone know what i can do for this?

2) My favorites has some inapropriate links in it, for example "Free Hidden Cams World" "Free Spy Cam" "Free Web Cams Chats" "Get this 4 free" and "Hidden Cams World"
even if i delete them, they just come back...any one know what thats about? some sort of virus or something???

Favorites button - click organise - highlight unwanted, then use delete button, this should stop them coming back..

Try Tools - Internet Options - Privacy tab - set cookies to medium setting.

My browser is Maxthon 2.5.18.1000 (runs off IE9's engine). My home page is my.yahoo (customized yahoo) and it is selected to open automatically when Maxthon is opened. For my.yahoo to open, I have to sign in with a username and a password. Until recently, my.yahoo would open automatically without my signing in. However, once I started fooling around with LastPass (a pw manager) and two other cookie eaters (CCleaner and Maxthon's Smart Cookie Cleaner), in order to get to my.yahoo, I now have to sign in. How do I get back to the state in which my.yahoo opens automatically without signing in?

If your browser uses IE's engine, perhaps an IE solution will work:

Java bug exposes users to serious code-execution risk.

Researchers disclose because Oracle won't

Note: Links internal to the above article lead to workarounds to problem.

Advice: Turn off Java in your Web browser.

Related: Serious Java Bug Exposes Users To Code Execution.

This might be a tough one to solve as it’s not a typical buffer overflow or programming bug per-se but more of a flaw in the way the Java Virtual Machine functions. Sun don’t consider this vulnerability to be critical, which could be a mistake on their part as that means it won’t be patched until the next patch in the cycle is released – which should be around July.

Hi, I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and I recently updated to Java 6 update 23. Unfortunately, any webpage I visit with Java media immediately causes my browser to shutdown; whether I'm using Firefox or IE. Here is the Firefox crash report:

[@ [email protected]] - Firefox 3.6.13 Crash Report - Report ID: 0e7ce5f5-d90c-4627-b795-ccc662110123

I suppose I could downgrade to an earlier version of Java but since I haven't found any recent posts with this issue, I am wondering if another problem is at work. Maleware Bytes scan reported nothing, running AVG scan now...

I am sorry, not a computer expert but wanted to add a problem I am having with Java and Windows 7. I got a pop up for the latest version which I downloaded. After I did that then got off the internet and tried to get back on, I got a Java pop up with some weird letters. I signed on, the pop up came up again and after many clicks it closed then my internet connection was gone. I tried this numerous times and each time, the internet was gone. I finally set the computer back a few days back to remove this Java update. Any clues what happened? I an running Windows 7 64 bit and using Firefox for the browser.

HI, I posted this question earlier in the Windows 95/98 forum, and thought I would try my luck here.

I recently purchased a used computer that works just fine except for the fact that is does not have a Java-enabled browser. I have been to the Microsoft update page, and got absulutely no help there(I cant even get any tech support from them). I've also visited several Java sites, nothing. It seems that if it is not installed in your computer already, then you are out of luck. I am interested in being able to chat and play games, but with out a java-enabled browser, I cannot. I am very frustrated at this point so, if anyone has any kind of help, please let me know.
Thank you!

Here's one for you, I run XP and IE8 when I try to update or install Java it takes me to the download page then when I hit the download it takes me to another page that says IE cannot display this page? I went to Googel crome and the same thing. I did V scan with combofix and restarted but the same thing happens. Anyone have an idea what the problem may be? Its the only web page this happens on that I know of at this time.

A:[SOLVED] Java and Browser

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

First of all NEVER use Combofix without guidance. Misuse of Combofix can ruin your OS.

Do you already have Java installed on your PC?

I have created a java program which uses the Yahoo API to do searches for part of an assignment. The program consists of two programs, one uses the API, and creates an XML file. The other reads the XML file, and generates an HTML file.

Now, I need to be able for users to get to a website, and enter a query. When they press the submit button, I want it to call my java program, make the HTML file, and then the browser redirects to the HTML page.

Now what I tried to do was make a CGI file, or a PHP file, which does a system call the run the program with the query, but I couldn't get it to work. (running in a shell window did work )

Any suggestions on how I should get it to work?

Hi

I have Windows 8 Pro running and also Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 as my anti-virus. Kaspersky is blocking the JRE plugin from running in the browser.

How do I enable it?

A:Kaspersky blocks Java in the browser

Java currently has a bug, it's advised that you turn Java off for the mean time until its fixed, this is why your Kaspersky is probably blocking it.

A:Default setting Sun Java browser

well, you could make the program start when you start windows, though i dont need to do it. to do this, go,Start>Execute>and type msconfig>there you go to start(top right) and select what programs you want to be stared on the startup. putting more programs will make the startup take longer.
if it doens work, why not just keep the older version if it worked? i make as little changes as possible on my pc.
hope i could help.

Java will not work while using a Safari browser . When I run a web page containing Java, I get the message that Java has not been installed or Java is not enabled. Java is installed and enabled on my computer.
My current version of Java is jre7 and my Safari version is 5.1.7. I have tried other versions of Java with the same results. Java works fine for me using Windows Explorer.
I am using a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit computer. I like the Safari browser and would appreciate a solution to this problem if possible.
Thanks in advance.

I've had this laptop a little less than a year I had no problems until about any browser and working in not Java 7 Windows Flash on three or four months after buying it I only Flash and Java not working in Windows 7 on any browser ever use Firefox and would always keep it and other programs such as Flash and Java up to date One day some websites just quit working like facebook youtube Flash and Java not working in Windows 7 on any browser netflix and various game sites This problem continued for Flash and Java not working in Windows 7 on any browser a few weeks and I didn't do anything to try and problem solve it Then everything seemed to magically fix itself so I figured that an automatic update had done the trick However a few months ago those problems started again and since then I have read many threads on how to fix them uninstalled and reinstalled FF Java and Flash countless times including past versions of all of them I even tried using IE and Chrome but I had the same problems with those browsers As of right now I cannot view flash based game sites such as omgpop I used to not be able to play games on facebook but as of yesterday those suddenly work again I cannot watch streaming videos on netflix but youtube works fine I cannot view content on many web pages for example google images does not work at all nor does googlemaps or mapquest Some pages only load partially even though it says they are 'done' I often see 'javascript void ' on websites Currently I am running the current versions of Java and Flash and FF I have checked pop up blockers and script enabling and just about everything else I am at a total loss of what to do Even as I am typing this I cannot click on any of the text editing tools or smilies and this is showing up as one big paragraph

A:Flash and Java not working in Windows 7 on any browser

Welcome to Seven Forums Onieo. You have an odd problem indeed. Since it isn't browser specific, or even program specific (both Java and Flash), it would appear to be windows related. I would start with the System File Checker

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If others have no suggestions to follow, as a last resort a Repair install may be in order

Repair Install

But let's see what others come up with. A Guy

Hi, I recently uninstalled & reinstalled Java at someone else's suggestion. I don't know if I installed a different version or what--honestly, I don't know much about Java at all. All I know is that it used to work pretty well, and now my browser (especially Firefox) freezes horribly whenever I have a site that uses Java open on it, to the point where I often have to reboot.

I just looked in the program files and it looks like I have version 1.6.0_04 of Java.

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition 2002 SP2.

Thanks!

GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan when first run. (do not use the computer while the scan is in progress)If you receive a WARNING!!! about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system...click NO.Now click the Scan button. If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.When the scan is finished, click the Save... button to save the scan results to your Desktop. Save the file as gmer.log.Click the Copy button and paste the results into your next reply.Exit GMER and be sure to re-enable your anti-virus, Firewall and any other security programs you had disabled.IMPORTANT! If for some reason GMER refuses to run, try again. If it still fails, try to UN-check "Devices" in right pane.If still no joy, try to run it from Safe Mode.

Help for my Mum, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Desperately trying to upload photos to various websites to get them printed, such as Asda, Tesco etc. When I try to open the web page which enables me to upload the photos, the page freezes and then closes the browser when it becomes unresponsive.

Have tried Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and none of them work on any of the photo uploading/printing websites. Tried cleaning the registry and temporarily disabling Norton Internet Security.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled Java and Flash.

Run Spoybot S&D and found nothing malicious.

Any ideas as to how this might be remedied?
