Recycle Bin icon missing from a domain's user's profile on a particular computer.

Q: Recycle Bin icon missing from a domain's user's profile on a particular computer.

hi.. one of my colleague's user profile from our domain on her own computer has a missing recycle bin and the weird problem is.. even if we deleted her profile from the server and recreate another one it is the same problem... the desktop icons are the same as before and even the desktop wallpaper is the same as before the profile being deleted. i re-created twice and twice the recycle bin is missing. but when i went to another computer.. and logged in with the user's profile.. the recycle bin is there! even when i right click on exploring the windows explorer.. the recycle bin is no where to be found. can anyone tell me whats going on?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

We have removed a computer from the domain because of some network issues.
When we logged in to the computer as a local administrator we've noticed that the user folder of the domain user who was previously logged to that computer was almost empty(except for the appdata folder).
When we joined the pc back in the domain the computer made a new profile.
Unfortunaly the user did save some documents on his dekstop in the old profile.
Is there a possibilty to recover the documents.

The computer runs Windows 7 64 bit.

The old profile is not listed in the profile list in the system properties and also not visible as a profile in the register.

Ok, so i currently have 5 workstations connected to an sbs2003 Acer server / domain. Im about to replace the old Acer server (sbs2003) with a new IBM x3200 Server (sbs2011). On the workstations, i know i will need to add them to a workgroup, and then rejoin them to the new server / domain. But how do i retain the current users profiles on the workstations once they have been joined to the domain? Anyone who has had experience with this would be most appreciated :):):)

The user profile logon I currently use is assoicated with an NT domain. Is there a way to keep the user profile, but sign on without connecting to the domain, i.e. as a local computer user? If I remove the domain name and substitute it with (local computer), it doesn't allow a sign on. I'd like to keep all of my settings, but use them without signing on to our NT network. Thanks.

Hi! All! I have a problem which is so strange. I have one domain user which is roaming profile, but when he log in to computer, it always show temporary profile, I try to check his profile in regedit, but I don't see any *.bak file. I ask him to change to other pc, but the result still the same. Later, I try to remove his account from roaming to regular account, the still temporary profile. What can I do to solve this problem?Note:- he try to log in to OS such as Windows 7,XP, but the still the same.- The PC that u log in has a large space to log in.

A:user domain login always temporary profile

I've seen this before when a profile's registry hive was corrupted. If you're sure the PC(s) the user is logging in to is fine and the involved ACLs are fine, delete/rename the profile off the store and have the user log in again. When they confirm they're no longer getting a temporary profile, restore their profile to a point before this started happening. How To Ask Questions The Smart Way

I know, the MS way is to use SysPrep, but that seems enormously OTT when all I want to do is create a Windows 7 Default Profile for our domain.

So, according to my (Google driven) research an easier method is toLogon with a user account
Make it 'so' (i.e. set the default profile how you want it for all new users)
Log off
Log on as Admin
Rename c:\users\default (as default.bak, or .old, whatever)
Rename the folder for the user account used in step 1 to 'default'
Apply Full control permissions to 'Everyone' on the new Default folder.
Simples!

Except that at step 7 I get 'Access Denied' on many of the profile's sub-folders...be that with our domain's administrator account or the local administartor account.

Am I doing something wrong (polite answers only, please!)?

A:Creating a new Default user profile for our domain

One thing that could cause this issue is the fact that the user folder tree contains some symbolic links for compatability with badly written older programs, that assume the folder name will always be the same, over OS changes.

The default for these symlinks is to have a deny permission set for all users including admins to prevent the accidental creation of endless loop situations, where links are called for folders they link to

Any thoughts about the user object? It's not a roaming profile and it's the same default user that everyone gets.

What does the user object mean?  Is a domain user account? And what is the meaning of  the same default user that everyone gets? Is it a local user?

I know microsoft has the Active Directory Migration Tool but is that truly the BEST way to do it?? The guide is like 100000 pages long so I'm not even sure if I want to go that route. Ok, we've moved all our users to a new domain and for all but one I was able to use a migration tool to do all the grunt work.

However one users already had a profile on the new domain so I was not able to migrate their old info over using the tool so I have to do it manually.

This is something I have only done a few times and none of them recently.

Someone have a link to a guide or how-to for this or can explain in in easy steps?

I have already joined his PC to the new domain and now just need to move over his profile/email/outlook...etc.

I have the same issue the other user mentions. I can log on as a domain admin, but not as a domain user. There are only 4 profiles in the registry, with no .bak extensions:

1 is the default user
2 is the localservice account
3 is the networkservice account
4 is the local "Administrator" account

I was assuming the problem was with the default user, so I followed the article previously mentioned, and changed the RefCount from "1" to "0", and the State was already set to "0". I am still unable to log in with any domain account except for domain administrators.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Welcome TVbowman to the windows 7 forums.

What is the server that your trying to log into ? windows server 2008r2 or 2003 or what?
Also, are you trying to login to the console or rdp or just map a drive?
Also, is the regular user allowed to login via the security configuration of the server and AD?

We have several user profiles that we would like to delete when setting up Windows 7 images so that old users do not have their folders stored on the new images. However, after manually deleting the folders under C:\Users and then
locating their keys in the registry and deleting those, the users' folders return immediately after any of our computers that we try this on gets rebooted.

Is there another step that we're missing? I've been searching around online and have been unable to locate any solutions. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

We do not want the computer to remember the last logged in user, therefore when the computer boots up, it shows a blank user icon. I understand the reasoning behind this but I a looking for a fix. I would like to put a custom user icon in there and have it display when users are not logged in as well as make it the default for the user icons. I have already made it the default for the user icons, however am stuck on the blank icon.

Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Hi
I had 4 user profiles but only seem to have 3 now. When I log on to the computer there are 4 names but when we look in the files and folders etc there is one missing. There are 'my docs' and 'my music' etc for three users. When my husband (the missing user) logs on he can go to his docs but there is no name in the folders tree. When he saves anything it always ends up in my docs as well but I'm not sure if that is because we are both administrators. Hope you understand this I can't explain it very well

A:User Profile Missing

I am not sure this would work as the admin profile is missing but try to change the user to admin in control panel. The UAC will pop up and ask for a password.

If that does not work, try the following. In the search box type cmd. Right click > run as administrator then type the following which will enable the hidden administrator account.

net user administrator /active:yes

Log out and you should be able to log into administrator to do the edit.

After you are finished disable the hidden administrator account by typing

net user administrator /active:no

I was uninstalling windows live essential on my profile and added ms office outlook 2007 for email. For some reason, when changing users to my wife's profile, the desktop has to be prepared each time - as a temporary profile. The folder location has moved from Users/wife to Users/Users/wife and has a lock icon on it. I have tried moving the entire folder as administrator and received a not responding message.
Short of a restore in which I will lose data is there a way to 'import' her profile under a new user and then delete the corrupted profile?

A:LOST a USER profile (folder location has moved + lock icon)

Hello Redjack, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, you could try using the tutorial below to see if you may be able to fix her profile.http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/13...y-profile.html
If not, then you could create a new administrator account for her to use instead. Afterwards, log into the new account, copy anything (ex: shortcuts, files, etc...) she wants from the old account to the new account, and delete the old account.

Hope this helps,

I recently did a hard drive reformat, and had backups of my previous settings, I have never used user profiles, have always have my computer boot right up to my desktop- no welcome screen.

So I was trying to set it up the way I have had it, but something got fouled up, not quite sure what happened, but the profile I was using is no longer listed in the profiles, but all the files are still in documents & settings.

How can I restore this/my old profile, and clean out any unused profiles?
Right now there is listed:
Admin
Administrator
Administrator.DCQH3GD1
RSS (old profile, not listed in profiles)

Thanks

Also, when I tried to do a restore to before the user profile going MIA, it restored to a blank screen, no desktop, no start button, no way to use anything other than cntrl-alt-del and run a file through that. Weird

I'm trying to use the File History feature in Windows 8.1 to create backups.  When I click "File History" from the control panel, nothing happens.  No new window opens, it just stays at the Control Page.

I've tried manually going to "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\File History".

All works fine with local Administrative user profile.

Why does File History not start/open/run for the domain user account that is in the Administrators Group?

A:"File History" won't open/start for domain user profile/account

Hi,
Base on my lab machine (Windows Server 2008 R2 DC, Windows 8.1 client). either domain admin user or domain standard user, they all work fine.
What's your environment? Did this issue occur on all domain user or specific one?
In some cases, File History may conflict with the enterprise policies (like retention policy). I suggest you contact your IT admin to see if there is some other policy to limit this.

Hello,

I have problem with one client computer profile. Profile wont sync. For example when I delete items from desktop, server syncs them back.

Here is event log output that I think is related to that problem.

The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\metec.local\sysvol\metec.local\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following:
a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller.
b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled.

What can I do to resolve this problem.

Good morning all Temporary - No Domain - Computer Registry Profile SID Yesterday I ran into a strange issue with one of my Domain Computer - Temporary Profile - No Registry SID domain users on a shared workstation I'm not sure if this is happening to a few other users since many people use this workstation A user would attempt to login Domain Computer - Temporary Profile - No Registry SID to the machine however would receive notifications that he's being logged in with a temporary profile I think no big deal I'll go through and clear out his profile on the machine right Wrong This time around there is No old user folder for his username There is no SID for the user in the registry When running whoami user and getting the SID for the user that way there is clearly no profile for this user's SID Now I don't know what to do in order to resolve the temporary profile issue for this person I believe none of this information exists because a Domain Computer - Temporary Profile - No Registry SID profile has never been made for him since the computer has been implemented Searching around Google has numerous suggestions about clearing out the profile from the registry but I can't find anything that says what to do when said profile doesn't exist Any ideas

Hello

When I tried to log on to administrator account on vista laptop this morning I got the following error massage "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded." I did some research and found a potential solution: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

However the problem is that the solution needs a working administrartor account and the only account I'm able to log in is a standard one with no power to change account type or boot into admin safe mode/ do a command prompt whatsoever.

Would anyone happen to have an alternative solution that doesn't require an admin account to fix this?

Admin account worked fine on Monday.  The kid used her (non-admin) account in the meantime.  Now it won't log into the admin account - "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded."  I've read a few other boards on this issue, so I am now doing a thorough virus scan and will include results as soon as they're available.  But I am not confident about moving forward with any of the paths I've seen laid out, and some of them don't apply if you can't access the admin account anyway, so I wanted to start a thread here (I've gotten fabulous help here several times before).  It's running Vista Home Premium SP2.  AVG 2013 Internet Security.  Can't think what other specs may be relevant, but am happy to provide whatever would be of use.  Thanks!!

A:User Profile svc failed logon. User profile can't be loaded." on admin acct.

I got the same message when attempting to login on Windows 7, after no previous problems or changes before shutdown the night before. It continued to loop back to the logon screen even after rebooting. I ended up having to log on in Safe Mode, then do a system restore to restore back to the last restore point, which was a system checkpoint a couple of days earlier. That fixed it, and I've had no problems since. I hope that helps.

So my laptop is a good few years old, has a few issues but generally it still runs ok for what I need. However today, after logging off fine last night I am getting the error 'user profile service service failed to log on'. I'm usually quite happy to have a tinker about with stuff if I have instructions. So I found out about logging into safe mode and ResEdit and looking for the SID key but mine is missing the long string of digits I'm guessing this is not normal, is there a way to fix this and get back in again?I have tried system restore but I only have yesterday evening and that fails.
I apologise for shortness of message I'm on my new iPad and I'm not really use to it, much prefer my laptop ATM!
Thanks in advance

A:Won't load safari or chrome, or run .exe, and user profile missing issues

Hi, and welcome to the forums, it seems you have a corrupt user profile, it would probably be best if you created a new user account, tested it to make sure all is OK then transfer the data from the old user account to the new one.

What user accounts do you have at present, and is the main account administrator?

Go to start search and type:- cmd, right click on the returned cmd.exe and select "run as administrator" at the prompt copy paste:-

net user > 0 & notepad 0 (press enter) please post the notepad outcome here.

To be sure go to start, search and type:-

netplwiz (press enter) under users what do you see.

Use an admin account, go to the account's picture folder you had before, and answer yes if it asks if it should modify security. ( haven't done this in a while so I can't remember the exact wording )

Hey Guys so this happened to my laptop the other day and I have only got round to fixing it now, I tried a few options like editing the .bak files etc with no luck so I recovered what I could and just deleted the user profile an that seemed to of fixed the issue.

I was just wondering if their is anyway to delete the data off the old user user profile without having to format the hard drive. As its still taking up space on my hard drive even though the profile is deleted.

Many thanks in advance

A:The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded

Hello Damian, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Since you have already deleted the user account through the Control Panel, you should be able to just delete C:\Users\(user-name) folder for the old user account while logged in the new account.

Today, Dec.20th, I wanted to create a standard user account for testing.
I named it Test.
When I tried to log on to Test account, I received the above message.
I used the tutorial compiled by Shawn but failed :
The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. - Vista Forums

Problems :
1. I don't remember when was the last time I successfully created a new user account. Therefore, not knowing which is the good restore point for this matter.
2. The tutorial mentioned SID key with .bak at the end.
There are 3 SID keys, but none has .bak at the end.
3. name of ProfileImagePath is as follow ...........
a.1001 belongs to t-4-2
b. 500 belongs to Administrator
c. 501 belongs to Guest
I don't see the SID key for the Test account.
Therefore, I am stuck. not knowing how to proceed.

see screenshot :

Please advise.
Thank you.

P.S. Guest account was NEVER activated.

A:The User Profile Service Failed to Logon User Profile Cannot be loaded

Hello John,

You might see if the tutorial below may be able to help fix this for you. User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
If not, then I'd recommend to turn off the Guest account, delete any 501 key below found for the C:\Users\Guest account at the same registry location in the tutorial above, delete the C:\Users\Guest folder, and restart the computer. This will give you a fresh start with the Guest account as if you never turned it on.

I have a very bad problem with my PC. It started yesterday and the vista system repair came up and scanned my computer. When it finished I clicked finish and my PC restarted then it did it again..and again...and again.
Then I went into safe mode and virus scanned everything but came up with nothing. So I restarted my PC and it said The user profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. So I clicked ok then my user account came up somehow. I clicked it and it took me to desktop except that half of my programs were gone and like nothing worked, all my documents, downloads, pictures were all gone. I can't do anything on that computer, can anyone help please??(I have googled it but none of the solutions work so I want to find an answer specific to my problem)

A:The User Profile Service failed the logon. User Profile cannot be loaded

Most likely it is loading a temporary profile.

First try a system restore to see if can recover the user profile.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/

If system restore fails to load while in windows or you get errors, try it from the recovery environment http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial142.html
Here is another solution to try if SR fails to work for you, it shows you how to create a new user account, then log into the new account and copy your old profile over to the new account. This article is for XP but the process is the same for Vista. See "Moving to a new user profile"

Im trying to create a new user account on my computer but every time i do that Im unable to login to be User The Service the failed Profile cannot profile loaded User logon. that name Only the main account is accessible All new accounts I create with my account will give me this message quot The User Profile Service failed the logon User profile cannot be loaded quot This applies to the guest account as well If this helps when you go to C Users only the main account's folder and a folder called quot Public quot is present Im pretty sure it should have showed the folder of the newly created account Because of this im unable to copy files from my main account to the new but inaccessible account as the folder for it does not exist This is frustrating as im trying to create an account for my brother with The User Profile Service failed the logon. Anyway I work in a small local computer repair shop and recently we had LOADS of Vista and Windows 7 machines with the error

"The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded"

We can repair the fault changing the profile from temporary profile path and swapped the .bak extension in registry.

But what the hell is causing it? We have had two machine back in within two weeks of initial repair. We figured windows update at first but its not a given.

cheers!

A:User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

You can try to fix with Safe Mode - repeatedly tap F8 as you boot up.It may take two or three tries to start the safe mode.Continue with Safe mode and user the Administrator login. Are you able to get into the computer with Safe mode as the Administrator? **** In this context administrator is the name of a hidden account used in safe mode. Normally you would not have to use this account. It can be used to repair or create user accounts.

A:User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

Hi Phillip,

I would like to verify whether the issue only occurs on special Windows 7 computer or on all Windows 7 computers.

I suggest checking the permission of the user profile folders and Default folder. Make sure the users has full control of their profile folders.

Meanwhile, ensure the users are the owner of the C:\Users\theirname\NTUSER.dat. Also, please put NTUSER.dat in the security software exclusion
list for testing.

Please also post in Server Forum to get more assistance.

Hi

On my daughters W7 x86 PC the above message is happening when she tries to logon, the PC was set up with two users, I do noyt know if the other user can logon as she is away and we do not know the password.

What can I do to fix this error, all the fixes I can find require the user to logon, which is not happening.

Any ideas on how I can proceed.

Thanks

I've searched for about a week now and have not found a solution. I followed the suggestions about the corrupt Profile and the .BAK SID, but neither are my situation.

My SID is fine - I did manage to find a temporary fix. If I delete and recreate the user in Active Directory on the server it fixes the problem. The problem is, I have 300 computers and every morning there are at least 10 - 15 users I must do this to. Not an ideal solution.

We bypassed Vista, so we had no idea that this Microsoft bug existed until last week.

Hi, at windows start i get the message "The User Profile Service failed to logon. User profile cannot be loaded". There was no known activity last time system was up and running and it was shut down normal.

The desctop(HP) was delivered some years ago with V7 installed, ONE personal userID with admin auth. was created. Then a System repair disc was created.

What is the safest and simplest way(if any) to fix this problem and maintain the user data?(I did see support strings about this problem but they seem very complicated and confusing to me)

1. Shoud I restart system some functional key to get into safe mode or use the System repair disc and then what option?

2. Should I then logon to the default accountID(not known to me), and restore system to older backup point or shoud I try to repair the personal UserId?

Please advice

All I want to preface this inquiry with the following this is a home lab environment and does not affect production systems in any way Any information provided will be tested in a test VM prior to execution on any critical system I recently joined my primary home system to my lab domain I wanted to retain all of the settings and configurations of my local system but use a domain account to login I followed this migration write-up Step by Step Migrate Local User Profile to Domain User Profile with all Settings The gist of the migration involves adding the domain user to the ACL for the C Users localUser with Full Control and propagate those permissions through the folder This step worked without issue Then profile size local after domain and Explorer longer cache to profile migrating works location no modify the ACL for the HKCU hive by adding the domain user to the ACL with Full Control and propagate those permissions Explorer size and location cache no longer works after migrating local profile to domain profile through the hive This step appears to work but some keys cannot be modified Finally we change the ProfileImagePath for the domain user SID under HKLM SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion ProfileList and reboot The change appears to have worked without issue All of my settings are intact and the look and feel is as expected One very significant problem however is that the window explorer exe size and location cache is not functioning If I click on Explorer size and location cache no longer works after migrating local profile to domain profile File Explorer the window opens as usual but the layout is using tiles while I prefer the Details view I change to the details view and make some other changes close the window re-open the window and it's back to the initial layout with tiles and the size is set back to a smaller default I did some research and significant reading on the Shell Bags and BagMRU registry hives and how they work I read Annanya Podder's response to remove the Bags and BagMRU folders and recreate them with default configurations Windows doesn't remember size and position of previously opened programs This does not resolve the issue however I opened ProcMon and started a trace while opening resizing closing and re-opening a File Explorer window and there are no registry queries or writes of data to any of the bag hives which leads me to believe there's something corrupt with the registry If I perform the same trace on a functioning Windows VM or even with another profile on the affected machine I see queries and even writes to the Shell Bags registry hive The affected profile doesn't even try to query those hives or otherwise write to them and there are no 'ACCESS DENIED' or 'NAME NOT FOUND' results in the ProcMon output I exported the HKCU hive prior to making any changes but I cannot update a loaded hive with the export I receive an error that the key or subkeys could not be updated I did not however save a copy of the old NTuser dat file but the HKCU export should have that data no I'm at the point now where I can go along to get along but I'm curious if anyone could guide me down any additional troubleshooting routes to figure this out The size and location cache used to work without issue but after the migration it's not functional As a system admin I use file explorer a lot and having to resize the window every time I open it is going to be painful Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly welcome Regards Ron Arestia MCSA Server Ron Arestia MCSA Server

A:Explorer size and location cache no longer works after migrating local profile to domain profile

I figured out my own issue. Don'tcha love it when that happens?
I logged into the affected machine as the domain administrator, and when I loaded the ntuser.dat hive for the affected user, I noticed that the \Software\Classes key didn't exist. It did, however, exist for the logged on user and it appears to correlate
directly to the key under HKU\[SID]_Classes.
On a hunch, I logged back into the affected profile, drilled down to HKU\[SID]_Classes, and when I checked the permissions, I noticed that the domain user did not have explicit permissions to the key and subkeys. I added Full Control permissions, propagated
them through the key and subkeys, rebooted, et voila! Everything is back to the way it should be.
I'll be leaving a comment for Mahdi Tehrani to ensure this is done to prevent issues like I had.Ron Arestia, MCSA (Server 2012)

In the control panel my icon to open my user accounts is missing or deleted. In the catagory view the icon is there but nothing happens when it is clicked.

I recently used the user accounts to set up passwords for parental control. I have decided that this is causing more problems than good and want to go back to the one user where everyone can acess all programs, but the icon for my user accounts is missing. I have attempted to use the sytem restore but this does not bring it back and messes with other programs.

Hello
we had a windows server 2008 Domain network.
now we have deployed a brand new windows server 2012 R2 forest.
so we must disjoin client computers from previous domain and join them to this new domain.
when users of this new domain login to their computers, new profile folder is created for them (e.g. c:\users\u1.newdomain.lab, but this folder definitely doesn't contain their previous profile folder contents (desktop, documents, App data....)
what is the best solution to migrate user profiles from each previous user to related new user without any problem ?
i tried copying the entire profile folder of each user & replace it on the profile folder new user, but some problem arises, when this new user tries to login using this replaced profile folder.
i am not sure is it right forum to ask user profile related question?
thanks in advanced

HI Guys

Hope that you can assist me.

I need to merge a local profile on a computer it's domain profile.

Example local\test1 to domain\0004

Each computer will have its own domain profile, it will not be a roaming profile.

Our company needs to move away from the local computer profiles to domain profiles.

Do you maybe know of an easy way to do it?

It will also need to move all settings, like email account to the domain profile.

We are using Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise.

Thank you

I had a problem deleting an older version of Firefox. The Firefox Setup .exe file was stuck in the Recycle Bin, it wouldn't delete and it wouldn't restore. Believing that the Recycle Bin was corrupt, I used this method from the DOS prompt:

rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin

I refreshed my Desktop and when I clicked on the Recycle Bin. While the file appeared to be missing, the Recycle Bin would not load properly so I restarted my computer.

Now when I click on the Recycle Bin icon, it points to my entire computer (exactly the same as clicking on "Computer" off the Start Menu) instead of the Recycle Bin folder.

How can I restore the Recycle Bin icon so that it shows only the contents of the Recycle Bin?

My gratitude to any and all who can help me.

Hello,
I currently have 5 user accounts on my windows vista 32-bit computer and I needed to create a new account. So, I logged onto the administrator account and created a new user account. Then, I logged off the administrator account and tried to log onto the new account. However, I received the following message
The user profile service failed the log on.
User profile can not be loaded.
After receiving the message I restarted the computer and attempted to log onto the new account but I received the same message.
Please help me.
Thank you in advance.

I shut my computer down today to give it a rare rest, closing all windows first. When I turned it on again, only one of the two Chrome profile icons I use showed up in the taskbar. Can anyone provide instructions for restoring the icon and associated profile? I would be grateful.

Beyond that, I wonder what the icon and profile's disappearance mean for the hardiness of my Dell Inspiron laptop, which is about three years old and which runs Windows 7. I am hard on it, leaving it on most of the time and keeping dozens of tabs open on both Chrome profiles (I'm a researcher). Is my laptop telling me it is dying?

Thanks for any help you can send my way.

My computer after I type in my password to log in says that my user profile cant be updated. I can access it in safe mode which I am currently on. I have already installed malware bytes and run it in addition to combo fix. Maybe I did something wrong while using either of those programs and they did work correctly but nothing has changed. I am open to any and all suggestions.

A:Computer cant load my user id profile and cannot log in

Could be that your profile is corrupted. You can create a new profile and then copy over all of your user specific info to the new profile. Then delete the old one.

I have joined a computer (PC1) to a domain control server (2008), and user able to login using their domain user account - although recently I have found out that even though the computer (PC1) do not connect to a server, user still able to access using their domain account.
Is there a way for me to restrict domain account user from accessing the computer (PC1) if they are disconnected from server?
Hope my explanation make sense to you guyz.

Thank in advance

A:Prevening domain user from accessing Computer

Lots to be considered. Joining a domain is intended to give the company admin configuration control of all the company users.
This is normal, expected and even proper for the company to do this.

restrict domain account userClick to expand...

hmm; only the company admin should be able to do this and almost always it is done using some scripts, NOT by loggin into your PC. So - - who is accessing your PC remotely, the admin - - how do you know this occurs?

PCs joined to a domain usually get a replacement for PC Login - - the network form and that creates a link to the domain controller.

User cannot access their domain this is what they get when they do ipconfig/all:

Hostname:computer1
DNS:111.111.111.2
Default gateway:
IP Address:169.254.0.50
Description:Netgear Fast Ethernet Adapter
Physical Address:00-a0-cc-5f-73-91
what is the problem, is it because the APIPA is a class B and the DNS is a class A. Does the APIPA cause the DNS to not work?

A:A user's computer is unable to access their domain.

Can they ping the DNS server? The gateway is not defined. Where is the DNS in relation to the network? What type of network connection? Can they get to the internet? More info please.

I have one computer with Windows7 that I need to restrict user logon to just two domain users.  Since it is for only one domain computer, is there a way to restrict the user logon locally on that computer rather than through AD?
Thank you.

We have a domain user that freezes up whenever he is in the middle of something. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as far as what he is doing when this happens. He has tried switched to several different computers and it does the exact same thing, while other users have no problems on any of these computers. Any suggestions? We use Windows 7 Professional and Server 2008 R2.

A:Domain user is freezing up no matter what computer he is on.

In Active Directory on Server compare this user with other users. Are they a part of any Groups, or Objects that are different? Does the user have a Roaming Profile? (eg) they have the same profile on whatever computer they use, Email, My Documents etc?
Do they have mapped network drives that are no longer active? Right click on My Computer and choose Disconnect Network Drive, see if the path of the drive is current or not. If not, disconnect it.

The thread title is a problem that I've been having while trying to create a new profile for work on my laptop. This is the error message that happens every time I try to log into this profile. All the help I've been able to find online has involved old profiles having this error, but I'm only getting this error with newly created profiles. The regedit solution that the windows site gives doesn't work because my computer isn't creating a path in the registry to that user account apparently, and I honestly have no idea how to fix this.
