Preferred Solution: Randomly closing programs

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I upgraded to Windows 10 when it first came out, and everything has been fin until recently. It feels like most everything I click on has a 1 in 20 chance of just closing itself with no error message. In Edge for instance if I double click on the top part to full-screen the page a message pops up asking if I would like to close all tabs, this message could pop up any time I click anywhere but it occurs 100% of the time if I double click the top.

League of Legends clients will flicker on the taskbar as if something is trying to close the program but failing, and occasionally it will close itself with no warning, same with a lot of Steam games, any other browsers, or most programs I try. I just recently reset my computer attempting to fix the issue but the problem is still there, any help is greatly appreciated

A:Programs are Randomly Closing Themselves

Start Task Manager from the taskbar, click on More details if it is showing no tabs. Then click on the Startup tab. Disable all programs there from auto starting and see if the problem continues.

But when i do the ctrl+alt+delete and bring up task manger then it will close immitatly. This is very strange and im confused And i dont really know if i have a virus hiding becuse i double scanned if i had a virus(i used avast for scanning)

A:Programs Keep Randomly Closing Themselves

Likely malware. Try scanning using a tool such as MalwareBytes.

You should boot into Safe Mode and perform the AV and malware scan.

Hi Having Googled for hours trying to find a solution I m still stuck Programs on my computer randomly close themselves It does not seem to be related to anything in particular and can happen ?! Themselves Programs Closing Randomly at any time They are NOT crashing simply closing without a trace The two programs which appear to be affected by this I have noticed so far are Winamp and ABC I have Programs Randomly Closing Themselves ?! recently upgraded to Winamp from Winamp and also recently started running NetLimiter v The programs which close do not need to be in focus Winamp is usually minimised but has closed both when up on screen and when minimised ABC is usually minimised to system tray but has also closed both when up on screen and when minimised to tray When Programs Randomly Closing Themselves ?! the programs close they appear to close at the same time What is extra odd is that ABC prompts a confirmation before closing which never appears when it closes by itself It even does this on Windows shutdown I am running Windows XP Pro SP pretty much a fresh install fully formatted only weeks ago Here s the programs which are usually running on my computer Gmail Notifier Wonderful Icon AVG Antivirus Free Edition v nVidia NVMixer Tray Icon DU Meter SpeedFan Steam MSN Messenger NetLimiter B ABC mIRC Any suggestions etc are welcomed This one has me completely stumped EDIT ABC has closed itself without Winamp closing so perhaps they do not close at the same time Also explorer ie the start bar and all my desktop items has closed and restarted prompting no error message I do not know if that is related or just a coincidence but it seems odd I didn t get a Send Error Report crash responce from Windows I m considering formatting my computer again I really don t want to do that though as I have s of GB of stuff I need to back up and restore nbsp

Hi and welcome,
Have there been any recent changes? ie, hardware/software installs, auto updates? Did you try a system restore to before the issue began?

Each error will have its own date and time shown.Start> right click on My Computer> Manage> Event Viewer. On the right side of the page you will see the options Applications, Security, and Systems, double click on Systems. There are eight columns on this page, the three that you will want are Type, Date, Time, and Event. The errors will appear in the Type column, they are red dots with a white X inside of them.Warnings will appear as a yellow trinangle with an exclamation mark inside. When you see an error, double click on it and see what the description is.Please post the error code/s found in the Event column and the descriptions back in this topic.

A:Computer just randomly started failing, programs not opening/closing/not working

First off, people around here don't like you mentioning Torrents. They consider people who use this are downloading Pirated software and if you continue to mention it, they will refuse to help you and close the thread down.
That being said, disconnect all USB Mass Storage drives (WD 2TB etc) and the X Box from the computer until we know what the problem is.
Go to Start/Search and type CMD Right click the CMD icon in the search results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Command Prompt type chkdsk /R and press enter. Now type a Y for Yes and restart the computer. Check Disk will run at next bootup and test the integrity of the drive.
You can also download the ISO image for Seatools in my signature, burn the image to CD using IMGBurn also in my signature. Boot off of the newly created CD and run the Short and Long tests on the HDD. This may solve your problem, but if either tests fails the HDD needs to be replaced.
Also, since you have a WD 2TB drive you should always keep a current backup of your Whatnot in case of HDD failure.

Greetings Arms_warrior and to BleepingComputer's Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal forum. My name is Oh My! and I am here to help you! Now that we are "friends" please call me Gary.If you would allow me to call you by your first name I would prefer to do that. ===================================================Ground Rules:First, I would like to inform you that most of us here at Bleeping Computer offer our expert assistance out of the goodness of our hearts. Please try to match our commitment to you with your patience toward us. If this was easy we would never have met. Please do not run any tools or take any steps other than those I will provide for you while we work on your computer together. I need to be certain about the state of your computer in order to provide appropriate and effective steps for you to take. Most often "well intentioned" (and usually panic driven!) independent efforts can make things much worse for both of us. If at any point you would prefer to take your own steps please let me know, I will not be offended. I would be happy to focus on the many others who are waiting in line for assistance. Please perform all steps in the order they are listed in each set of instructions. Some steps may be a bit complicated. If things are not clear, be sure to stop and let me know. We need to work on this together with confidence. Please copy and paste all logs into your post unless directed otherwise. Please do not re-run any programs I suggest. If you encounter problems simply stop and tell me.When you post your reply, use the button instead. In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see the button. Click on this then choose Immediate E-Mail notification and then Proceed and you will be sent an email once I have posted a response. If you do not reply to your topic after 5 days we assume it has been abandoned and I will close it.When your computer is clean I will alert you of such. I will also provide for you detailed information about how you can combat future infections.I would like to remind you to make no further changes to your computer unless I direct you to do so.Now let's get started ===================================================Now that I am assisting you, you can expect that I will be very responsive to your situation. If you are able, I would request you check this thread at least once per day so that we can try to resolve your issues effectively and efficiently. If you are going to be delayed please be considerate and post that information so that I know you are still with me. Unfortunately, there are many people waiting to be assisted and not enough of us at BleepingComputer to go around. I appreciate your understanding and diligence.Thank you for your patience thus far. In the past two to three weeks Internet Explorer 7 has started randomly closing every now and again and is coming up with the error message has encountered a problem and needs to close message. I have tried resetting IE, doing all updates and virus/malware/adware scans I can think of (found nothing) and also reinstalling IE 7. Although more irritating than serious I would like it fixed. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A:Ie 7 Randomly Closing

Hi everyone. Like Ms. Clegg, I'm having the same error when using IE7. My PC operates on Windows XP Home Ed. I notice the error (IE has encountered a problem and needs to close message) occurs when I've opened a webpage in a new window, get the info I need, then close the window. At this point the error occurs, I click "Send Error Report" and IE7 closes all open webpages. It is annoying and wastes alot of time starting over. Can anyone tell me what causes this and what should be done to correct the problem. Thanks for your help in advance.
R/Don

With no apparent reason but with some consistency re: certain sites, while browsing and frequently when going to a link within a site, I.E. closes without warning and without an error message, placing me back at my desktop. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix. I have three computers and this is only happening on the one that runs on XP pro. The other two run on XP home addition. Thank you for any help offered.

Hello, new here.

Recently IE7 has started closing whenever I run Housecall (of all things...). I will be able to select the kernel and even scan a little, but after a certain point IE will close with no warning.

It's very irritating since I was scanning to try to get to the root of another problem with a "Run DLL as App" error.

Any help with either problem (since they both happened around the same time, I thought they might be related) will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a windows 2007 xp, and my internet keeps closing! Usually when I'm on a flash game, my browser stalls, and goes non responsive. I close it and it gives me a message asking me to send an error report to microsoft. I figured out how to disable the message, but how to I stop getting nonresponsive internet? Btw I use internet explorer, and my connection is pretty fast.

A:My internet keeps randomly closing!

it might be because of your internet sometimes 'leaks memory' if it is used lots. i dont know how to fix it but it did happen to me before and my friend is a it guy and fixed it so i would get someone to take a look.

My 15T randomly shuts down when I close the lid.  I have the power settings set to sleep when the lid is closed for both on battery and plugged in.  I have also tried do nothing and hibernate with the same results.  I would say my laptop shuts down about 30% of the time when I close the lid.  Thank you.

#HPExpertDayIf the notebook is issued from a institution or organization, it could be programmed in the way that it shutsdown when you close the lid.If not then update BIOS and Firmware if any.

I play Warrock, and I just installed a new graphics card 2 days ago. Everything has been working fine until today. I opened Warrock, and it exited at the login screen. Then I re-opened, was able to log-in, join a game, and then at middle of game it quit!

This has never happened before...

I'm having an issue with browsers randomly closing, both when I'm using them and when I'm leaving them on while using a different application or program. This started happening about two days ago and I haven't updated anything or knowingly installed any program(s) at that time. Any fix to this?

Thank you in advance!

Hello, I have recently been having some CMD issues the passed two weeks or so. I don't recall the specific date that this started happening. I've read some of the other threads here that have similar problems, but I didn't want to take it upon myself to do more than just run maleware bytes and ccleaner. I happened to click on it once when it opened and the CMD was blank and just said something about SCHTask.exe at top bar. I would greatly appreciate any assist thanks in advanced.

Sometimes my computer turns off by itself without shutting windows down. It doesn't restart itself. I have just put a new-ish power supply and it's done it now with the new PSU as well as with the old.

I checked the event viewer and this is what I get: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Source: Kernel-Power
Event ID: 41

If anyone wants more details I can post a screenshot...

My CPU is sitting at around 37 degrees celsius, it's max is supposed to be around the 80 degree mark.

It shuts down sometimes when I have 4+ browser windows open.

I will try to post my system specs soon, and I'm sorry that this post is a bit disjointed, I typed things as they came to me.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When I run starcraft and I start playing and everything is running fine. sometimes I can play 1-2 match's then in the middle of one I go to the desktop and starcraft wont re open. Is there an easy way to fix this?

A:Starcraft randomly closing problems....

It may not have shut down completely. When that happens, type process explorer in search. You will see what is using memory.

If that is not running, make note of what is. One by one shut them down, try the game. When it works you know what is causing the problem.

Hello there!

The only app I really have issues with is Music Info, great app, but buggy as a bug. It crashes kind of more often than I'd like.

As for other apps, like the Bing apps, I don't have issues with. Sometimes the News app doesn't launch, but that's sometimes.

Odd, and you're using a new PC with Windows 8 preinstalled?

Hi

Just recently, my internet browsers (Mozilla FireFox, IE, and Safari) have been randomly closing. I've noticed it happening when I load Java scripts or play games that require some sort of plugin. For example, Runescape or Club Penguin. Also, sometimes my screen would just turn blank when I play or load stuff like that.

It does not close when I load normal pages like these.
I have done a full system scan with the latest Norton and it has only found 2 tracking cookies, so I doubt it is a virus related issue.

Someone somehow made the BIOS look into the CD/Floppy drive for the OS. I changed the settings so it would look into the C:\ like normal. This is when the browsers started acting weird.

Any help would be appreciated! (I know I can buy a new PC, but I can't atm so please do not suggest that)

Thank you!

A:Automatic Update Won't Turn On, Firefox Randomly Closing.

Welcome to Bleeping Computer, please be sure you have read and followed the Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log, Instructions for receiving help in cleaning your computer http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/All advice given is taken at your own risk.I apologize for the wait, if your issues are not resolved, read the instructions posted above and then follow the directions below. If you no longer need help, I would appreciate a quick post letting me know so I can close your topic.I am not seeing a log in the HJT log, but I do see AVG 7 and my information says that is out of date as of 5/31/2008. If you know something I don, please make me aware.Assuming you are runing the free version of AVG, here is a link to the newest version:http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-avg-an...us-free-editionIf you intend to run the free version, take care not to choose trials, etc. Download, install and update, then run a system scan. Quarantine (virus vault) at least what is found and post the scan results for me to view and we will work from that point. If you are going to run HJT on your Desktop, you need to create a folder to hold the .exe, logs and backups before they get los, right click and create one, call it HJT and it will look lik this:C:\Documents and Settings\Dark\Desktop\HJT\HiJackThis.exeThanks

Some programs (currently hl.exe is doing it :/) are just not closing right. I end them with task manager and they dissappear from everywhere but Task manager, where they stay no matter how many times i click end process. I tried through command prompt, it said it terminated the process, but it just stays in the task manager process list. I also tried through EndItAll, which told me it didn't have permission to kill the program.

Im currently using XP SP2...

A:Programs not closing

hl.exe is a half life executable. Go into your options in the game and see if there is an option to enable/disable auto updates etc.. make sure all options for things relating to HL running at startup are disabled... it could just be memory leak, are you current with all patches/updates for your game?

in the past week, my computer has started to close programs automatically after 5 to 10 minutes. this includes games, java programs and sometimes even norton. im not too sure why this is happening.

reasons?:

i recently installed a new fan into my computer with LED lights, could it be because of this?

i also recently installed windows blinds.

I bought a new computer a couple of days ago and I am experiencing a very interesting problem. Anytime I return to the computer after taking a break from work my monitor shows "No Sync", so I move the mouse and my desktop shows only the desktop versus the programs that I had opened before I went to take my break. As long as I am working on the computer I experience no problems. The problem only seems to arise when I take a break and come back to the "No Sync" on my screen. Could one of the computer's power saving modes be doing this?

On my old system (Win-98) I could close programs by doing Control-Alt-Delete. On Win-XP when I try to do this, a box pops up that only gives me the option to connect or logoff. There is no list of programs running. I must be looking in the wrong place! - Still a computer idiot - thsh6

I have been having problems with programs closing unexpectedly on their own without any error message. They will run normally for a few minutes and then just close down. I also have trouble when I run my TrendMicro antivirus, it will run for a few minutes and then I get

Application popup: UfNavi.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x........" referenced memory at "0x........". The memory could not be "read"

where 0x........ is a random address that's different each time.

I can't run any scans because they don't have enough time to finish before the program closes itself down. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am using Windows XP SP2

I have Limewire Pro insalled on my PC, I have had it for a very long time.

I have noticed that today, every time I go to open it (even after uninstalling and redowninging and reinstalling) it will open for a split second in the Task Manager view and then close itself.

The same is going on with internet explorer ( i am using FF now ). I open Internet Explorer and try to use it, and it just closes after attempting to open a site.

Also, I have scanned my PC with Norton 360 (newest norton suite) and it didn't find anything.

THe last thing, I recently had my RAM replaced in my Laptop because a stick went bad. IT was causing the DELL loading screen to freeze. It's happening again every once in a while when I turn on my PC, why?

=( Help me please!

The other day I was burning a CD on RealOne Player and all of a sudden, the window closed out. First, I thought there was just some kind of weird, minor mishap. But later, I tried opening AOL instant messenger and it stayed open for 3 seconds and closed out. This also happened with RealOne, and my attempts to Install a newer version (2004) of Nortons Antivirus only lasted until the "Would you like to activate and register now?" screen, which was 3 seconds into installation. Something keeps closing my programs. I also cannot stay long in the Add/Remove Files window. I just installed Bullgard and it detected:

C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT\00008457.EXE=>(FSG 1.33)

Status: Infected Backdoor.Agobot.3.Gen

in which the file was "infected" and was unable to be disinfected. Nortons 2003 did not pick this up. Is there any other way I can rid my programs of closing themselves

Hi,

Never heard of something like this, but the Graphics Card situation sounds familiar. I doubt your GPU is causing your programs to close though. Here's what I would do if I were in your shoes:

Uninstall and reinstall your GPU. Grab the latest drivers and make sure they are properly installed.Run an antivirus check. I personally recommend Malwarebytes Free.

Hope this helps.

Hello, I don't know if anyone can help me but any time that i go onto my laptop it closes down every program after 5 seconds with the message 'This program has encoutered and error and has to close do you want to send an error message' after this the program closes down. I don't know what to do. also whenever i turn my computer off it suddenly goes after logging off and shows that it's shutting down, it shows me a blue screen error and then restarts. I have tried a system restore and i don't know what to do. The only program that i can get running for a long time is realplayer when it automatically starts playing a dvd. The laptop is a Acer Aspire 5610 media center edition. i have already tried malwarebytes to no effect.

Is the only error message you receive...what you quoted in your first post?

Do you have a Microsoft XP install CD? Do you have recovery/restore CDs provided by Acer?

Hello,
I have a problem which started recently. The problem is that everything closes unexpectedly.
I am using the classic desktop environment to use this system and all the 'apps' I use a classing Windows programs.
Randomly all of the programs that are running on the machine close down without warning (And I mean ALL of them, even explorer.exe). I know that this has not been caused by a recent installation of a program as I have not installed anything recently. I also checked the computer with an Anti-Virus software as that could have been a cause but there wasn't anything.

Im not sure if anyone has experienced this issue as I did not find anything through Google

Does anyone know how can I solve this?

Thanks,
Oskar

A:All Programs Closing

All programs close but windows does not shut down? Just stays at desktop?

Do a malware/spyware check.

Spybot search and destroy

If spybot does not clear the problem then download and run COMBOFIX

Lets start from there..

Has anyone else noticed this,

I am using a browser, and for example looking at the forum here. When I close the browser without logging out from the forum and then restart the browser I am still logged in.

This never happens with Vista, I always have to login again

Does seven not close the programs properly to speed up the re-opening??

Does this not infringe on some aspect off security? Not for me I am the only user

Could this be a bug?

This works for both IE and Firefox

Hi Pooch,

When you logged in for the first time at the forum did you by any chance leave the remember me checkbox?

I am always logged in automatically at home, but on non secure locations I uncheck the option so as the site asks me to log in each time

I have a couple of downloaded games from AOL/Pogo that don't close when I close them. My system gets really boggy and when I go to task manager I see that the game program is still running and consuming a lot of memory. When I "end task" everything frees up beautifully. Aside from uninstalling the games, any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello all My PC makes me mad it seems like I've been having problems with it ever since I bought it some years ago I guess Anyway this time it's even more annoying than most other problems I've had it crashes when I close some programs especially those that are using a lot of RAM The typical case is when I close Firefox I usually have at least tabs currently open at once and according to task manager which I always have open FF usually takes up about Mo of RAM or is that bytes I'm not very computer-savvy I have Go of RAM installed though IIRC due to Vista limitations only are effective But I'm digressing the point is when I close Firefox it well closes I mean the window but the process is still active in the task manager and after a few seconds my PC crashes I think it sometimes gives me the BSOD but most of the time the screen goes black and nothing happens anymore with my PC still on Did some tests with other relatively high memory usage programs and sure enough when I close them my PC crashes Weirdly enough it does it too when I close the Windows Picture Gallery or whatever the default picture viewing tool is called in English I'm using Vista in French Hope someone can help

Hi, my computer just recently started acting up, whenever i open up a program. It works for a little bit, then i start to use it, it freezes up and i get a (NOT RESPONGING) next to the program name. I go to task manager and try to shut it off manually, but i get the end task warning screen with a yellow exclamation point in the bottom right hand of the program icon. The message says that closing this program may cause immediate instability on your computer . . . Then, my computer totally freezes and i have to maunally turn it off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a rogue application that fires up every now and then. It will minimize my games and show something with no name in my taskbar for just a second, and then disappear. Leaving me at my desktop. I have run loads of virus scanners, ad-aware, spybot... yadda yadda.. I just want to find a simple and free program that I can run for 30 minutes to catch the little bugger. Where I can look at what is launching and where it is. Are you entering cmd from run new task? If so it should stay open until you close it.

With vista and previous OS's it was easy to just right-click a program on the taskbar and hit the letter "c" to close it. you could very rapidly close a series of windows from the taskbar.

now in win7 x64 when i right click a program in the taskbar and hit 'c' it simply highlights the "close window" option... requiring me to either have to hit enter or click on the selected option "close window"

is it possible to have things work like they used to ?? such that a right-click and then the letter 'c' would close the window without any additional input ?

thanks in advance

Hi All I have a question that I have been unable to solve but first I will start off by saying I am running boot camp on a mac just so there is no confusion I am an architecture student and am using a program called Revit to render D models regularly Due to the long render times find myself stuck waiting many hrs up to many days with my computer tied up rendering Recently after a lapse in smart thinking my without closing programs? Restart battery went dead and I thought I had lost hrs of rendering time I then disappointingly restarted my computer to restart the render but found that Windows had saved as a last effort to maintain my program files and unsaved data the progress of the render and it continued upon reboot My question is is there a way to mimic this on demand so that I can boot into osx without having Restart without closing programs? to wait for renderings to finish or close them prematurely Thanks for your help

A:Restart without closing programs?

As far as I know, Boot Camp is the 'Mac version' of dual booting, correct? In that case, the short answer is no; if you switch to OSX, you will have to shut down or hibernate your Windows installation.

However, something you can try is using virtual machines. This way you can have OSX as your main system, and have Windows run on a virtual machine inside OSX, allowing you to switch between the two as you please.

Hi Room this is my first post!

Must say its really great to find a good IT forum on the net.

Anyway I have just recently purchased Win XP Pro SP2 OEM with a new Hard Drive (200GB Seagate). Unfortunately I seem to be having one problem after another.

One of my problems is whenever I close a program it remains in my Task List using up some of my system memory. I have carried out several windows updates in the hope that one would contain a fix for the problem, but no luck. I am at the moment running SFC to see if that will sort the problem.

Has anyone got any ideas as to how this problem can be resolved?

Thanks in Advance

I downloaded ad aware and was advised when doing it to close any programs
running, before installing it.

I knew how to do this on my old Win 95 but not sure how to on XP.

( just another dumb question, that the easiest to answer)

Thanks for any help.

You're probably ok installing it without ending anything but here's how to do it. Press Alt/Ctrl/Del and Task Manager should appear. Click on the "Applications" tab and you can end them from there ...

Everytime I open a certain program on my computer, I get this message:
"Studio program file has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
And then the program closes abruptly. Any ideas on how i can stop this?

A:How to stop programs from closing on their own?

There is a problem with the install of the program. Some files may be corrupt. Uninstall the program using Revo Uninstaller Do the advanced method and remove any leftover files from the Registry. restart the computer. then reinstall the software program. Look to the web site of the software manufacturer for an updated version.

A:Programs Closing due to APPCRASH

Initial troubleshooting steps for Explorer related issues:Check Windows for corruption. Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

I am glad to see you ran a virus scan; the problem you describe is often associated with viruses/malware on the system. You should also download and install Malwarebytes, update it, do not start the free trial, and then run a full scan.

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup and see if a startup or service item is causing conflicts. When you disable startup and services items, make sure you hide all non-Microsoft services first. Leave only your Norton software set to start in both startup and services.

Check your Administrative logs for errors and warnings:Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events

Provide us with more information by following the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html which will give us your system and application logs and any errors within those logs. Those instructions are helpful with more than just blue screen crashes.

I can make a video and upload it and show you what happens when I start mIRC if you want, please help, I don't want to have to re-install Windows XP, so if anyone has a fix please tell me.

I'm running:
Windows XP Pro SP2

Help please.

I have done everything I can think of.
malware scan.
updated my windows drivers.
restarted.
closed unneccessary processes.
defragged my computer.
everything.
im running the panda virus scan right now.
my problem is that some programs wont start, such as avg virus scan and others.
and also, programs such as winamp wont stay open. it will run for about two minutes, and then give me the "send error report" prompt.
also, whenever i go to a new website, it asks me to accept a license.
i tried running a windows media file on winamp on accident, and that's where it started.
i deleted those files from my computer, yet the problem still exists.
i've uninstalled and reinstalled winamp, nothing happened.

can someone help me?

much appreciated.
-steve.

Well, I've had problems with the stupid license thing before too and there's one thing to check that might fix alot of things. When I had the license problem it was because my PC clock had been set back alot of years, I know it sounds awkward but that's what happens, so check your PC clock year and switch it back if it was changed. If that's not it post back.

P.S. You shouldn't have Panda AND Avg installed, it should be one or the other because they cause problems with each other, just like most Anti virus when you put more than one on.
