I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a intel mother board and was upgrading the memory with qty 2/256 pc 133 chips but it will not even go to the bios screen. The chips work in 2 of my other computers. I was wondering if anyone knows what the deal is with that. The board type is D815eea with a PIII 800mhz chip. I currently have 3 128 in computer now.

I hope someone more experienced can help me with this- I have ordered an Intel Celeron D GHz to build a economical average spare system The new quot D quot is based on the latest Prescott architecture but does not include hyperthreading and its L cache is smaller They apparently overclock impressively well however and should be great for D Celeron Intel Mother Compatibility? Board average users non-gamers And the price is right at around dollars presently I ve seen a number of very positive reviews of the new quot D quot It is apparently way better than all previous Celerons including the earlier P type Celerons Here s my concern- the MB I have on hand and planned to use with it looks like it may not be compatible with the CPU It s an Acorp S FXL The BIOS chip on the board is marked quot S FXL quot The box it Intel Celeron D Mother Board Compatibility? came in is marked quot S FXL- -A quot above the UPC It s an A revision level apparently On the Acorp website the support page offers the latest BIOS version - - and says it will quot Support Prescott with FSB Mhz CPU PCB with A sticker quot I have that sinking feeling that the A sticker means a physically different version of the MB than my A version OR- is it just an earlier BIOS version So the question is basically this- can I safely assemble the rev A MB with my Celeron D CPU and then do a BIOS flash update to Rev afterwards or is there some more basic incompatibility that makes it so that the MB will never support this CPU Or even fry damage it The latest BIOS update is version two versions later than my v BIOS Intel Celeron D Mother Board Compatibility? My Celeron is designed to run at MHz FSB The MB will at least do that as it has a lot of parameters tweakable for overclocking etc including RAM supply voltage BTW I only plan to run this CPU stock and not to overclock it Acorp website MB support page http www acorp com tw eng download download asp pronameid amp Intel Celeron D Mother Board Compatibility? lineid Is the Prescott CPU in the -pin package still pin compatible with earlier Northwood and Wilamette P processors in the package One other dumb question- do P processors set internally regulate their own core voltage Thats a CPU internal function right Not a MB level setting I assume that all CPU s take V from the supply and regulate it down themselves TIA for any help guys nbsp

A:Intel Celeron D Mother Board Compatibility?

There is a good chance your CeleronD is not compatible with that board. I ran into this problem when we switched over to the CeleronD at work, we had to make sure we were getting the newer revision of the board (Albatron PM266 Pro), as the older one looked identical, but was not compatible (and no BIOS update would fix that).

It's true that they overclock well, I got my 2.66GHz one up to 3.4GHz without even needing to increase the CPU voltage.

Pin compatible? The sockets look identical, if that's what you mean. But boards may require hardware changes (e.g. improved power delivery) to support a Prescott. You aren't likely to damage a board by plugging one in, it just won't boot.

No, the motherboard supplies the voltage to it. The CPU tells the motherboard the voltage it wants, but some boards (including mine) allow you to increase the voltage.

Hi,

I bought a new PC with Intel DP35DP motherboard, and I tried to setup windows server 2003 on it, but it is not working, I don't know why?
and I'm planing to setup Linux on it, but I don't know if it will work or not,so

May you please tell me if this motherboard supports Linux especially, and windows server 2003, or not? and if not what I have to do?
Do I have to update the BIOS or what?

Do I have to change this motherboard to other brand like GigaByte (GA-P35-DS4 for example) or other brands?
Give me suggesions of motherboards supports the above operating systems
(new chipset like P35 chipset)

The driver (last release) installed OK.
But under DxDiag it says that there is no SoundCard...
I have reinstalled the driver several time with no success.
In fact, under System Information, Composant, Multimedia it says that aeaudio.sys, migrate.dll, smsens.sys et swdmsmchore6.inf are not installed. But when I look at the Driver Detail under System Property for Soundmax they are correctly listed...

I start to become nut...

Hi,I own a HP Omni 27-1015t  with a GeForce GT 540M card.  Unfortenuately, I am not able to install windows 10 due to compatilibity issues. After contacting HP support some months ago, I finally got around to removing the card today (as they suggested), but when I switch on the computer again, the display is blank. Is there anything outside of removing the card I need to do for the mother board graphics to kick in?  Only thing HP support suggested was to remove the card, install win10 and then put the card back into the computer (it should be win10 compatible).  I did try to install win10 with the card in, but was not able to get the correct graphics. Hoping for some good tip here.  Thank you. RegardsAre

I have bought a Dell Laptop 2 years ago which came with Windows 8.1 Home edition. The Hard disk which came with the laptop is still there and it contains the Windows 8.1 installation partition. But, due to a problem of motherboard, I had to replace it. The laptop came with i5 4th Generation processor, now I installed i3 4th generation as i5 was not available.
When I start the system I see Windows is not activated. I don't remember the product key that came with the Laptop. It doesn't seem to be there printed on the Laptop.
I tried activation via phone, but the installation id shown in Windows seem to be that of the new motherboard. The old mother board is not there now. So it didn't get activated.
The DELL Laptop is Inspiron 15 3000 (bought from US) which came with i5 processor, @ 1.7GHz Windows 8.1 Home, 8 GB RAM in year 2014.

hi im having a problem with my asus k8v-se mother board. i bought a new HD and it detects all the way up to when the mother board is detecting everything in the bios but then when i have the windows xp disk inserted and it says "click here to install windows xp" or whatever it says "cannot detect any hard disk drives, cannot go any further". i dont know why it keeps doing this.

i called up asus and they told me that it can be that my mother board needs to have certain drivers on it because its sata and i need to set it as my primary sata. can someone please help me!?

A:Problem with reinstalling windows with a K8V-SE mother board

I am assuming your new hard drive is a SATA drive. what Asus is referring to is the sata drivers which shoud have come with your motherboard. usually they are on a floppy disk. if you dont have them you should be able to download them from Asus.

hi,
I bought a new system. when I try to install windows 7, I get 0 MB free space. I used diskpart and got 512 bytes on disk 0 and no media on disk 1. I've connected both DVD drive and HDD to 6 GbPS port. ububtu was not able to detect HDD. UBUNTU was unable to detect HDD
the config is
Asus P8Z77-M motherboard with UEFI enabledi
WD 2 TB green hard disk

A:UEFI mother board - Unable to install windows

I would disable EFI. This is normally done by enabling Legacy BIOS or removing the EFI Boot disk from BIOS boot order. If this isn't sufficient read your Manual for how to disable EFI which is not needed and more trouble than it's worth unless you have a 3tb HD. You can have as many partitions as you want by limiting to 3 Primary and unlimited Logical.

Then wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command from the Win7 installer accessing DISKPART At PC Startup, followed by the command "Convert MBR" then "Exit." Click Install Now and proceed. Post back verbatim error message if any.

I have windows for system builders because I built my own system. I was told that you can only install it on one PC. Once it is installed, it will not be able to install on other PCs. I am planning on upgrading my motherboard to an SLI soon. Will I be able to put this version of windows back on? It's the same computer, just a different motherboard. I'm not sure how the software detects if it's a different computer.

You can download sisoftsandra from http://www.tweakfiles.com It will identify some motherboards or else the hard way. Look at it and find the manufacturers make and model or the fcc number. The fcc number is generally located right around the dimm slots.

or you can try ctbios, it will read the bios rom's and report what is there. http://www.windrivers.com/identity/mboard/biosid.htm

Was your old CPU a Celeron as well? Same speed?

You may want use the Clear CMOS jumper to clear the BIOS settings or you can pull out the CMOS battery for a few minutes.

Try reseating the RAM and video card as well. Or try a known good piece of RAM and a good video card. You can disconnect all the drives and remove any unneccessary PCI cards like a modem.

The screen stayed a dark black green flashed a couple times and it beeped at me a few time. When it did come up, the screen was really dark, and it came up as trying to fix windows from not booting. Also during this time, the CPU fan was screaming. What's going on here? Did I miss a step?

It should be an ATX form factor. I have an 8300 and it's a standard ATX mobo. The only thing you need to be careful of is that there isn't anything proprietary like the front panel connections or power supply connections. Sometimes they use things that are not standard.

Hello,
I am wanting to get a new mother board, to use with the AMD XP 1700 or greater processor. I am wanting to sue RDRam. However all I see is DDRAM boards. Is DD and RD Ram the same thing??? If a mother board supports DDRam will it also support RDRam???
Is there any reomendation for a mother board that will use RDRam and the AMD chip???

Thanks,

Bear

A:Mother Board

Currently, there are no motherboards or chipsets that support RDRAM with AMD processors. It could be a possiblity in the future.

RDRAM and DDR RAM are not at all the same thing. They are two different types of memory. None of the memory types are interchangeable. A particular memory slot can only accept one type of memory. Some motherboards support two different types of memory, but they have separate slots for each type, and you can only use memory sticks of one type. You cannot use both types at one time.

Hi,
I have a pentium III system with ASUS CULS2 motherboard and it's running on xp pro. I'm wondering how much hard drive capacity it can keep up with. I tried it with up to 230 GB and it worked and in a while i'm going up to 320GB and wonder whether the mother board will support it. And also i'm wondering how to update the BIOS in case if I have to do that. Should I have to backup the old BIOS before it and where can find the new version? I'm really looking for your help.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on where to get parts to fix/replace a mother board for not too much money? I was informed yesterday that my mother board was shot on my year old gateway laptop. DDR3 comes with high clocks but also with price and high latency. So, high quality DDR2 would(COULD in some occasions) still outdo DDR3. To a point, latencies can determine the performance more than clocks.

Actually, can't find any information about that board at all, you sure you copied it right?

You can always open up the case, and see if there's physically a PCIe x16 slot there or not. Some pics of the PCIex16 and how to differentiate it and the AGPx8 slot here.

One problem that has me perplexed . When a customers motherboard goes down , it means reformatting and re-installing XP. Of course all my customer info is gone. If you try to boot up With the new motherboard XP will not load. It launches a critical error and says the boot sector has a virus. I know that XP has this built in to prevent it from being installed on several different computers . This anti-piracy is based upon motherboards bios.

I will not build a computer with pirated software but when the legal owner of the PC and the software needs his computer fixed he should not have to lose all his info. This is when I miss 98 , ME. Under those most computers it was replace motherboard and after several reboots you were all ready to go with all your data intact.

has anybody come up with a work around for this ?

A:When Mother board goes w/XP

What kind of computer are we talking about? According to MS, if you get an OEM motherboard from the manufacturer, with SLP (System-Locked Preinstall) in the BIOS, that's all you need. They don't mention any re-install. Maybe you can sort it out from This Page Is it possible to do a repair install and save the data?

I would like to know which one is better because I have both computer towers but only use the CQ5210f. I am planning on putting in a new graphics card soon and I cant afford a whole new computer or motherboard right now so I have to pick between these to.

A:Which Mother Board is better?

No contest the second one. The first is an ancient (in computer terms) Pentium 4/DDR/AGP based board, whereas the first is a much more recent AMD AM3/DDR3/PCI-E board that the Compaq bios allowing can up to probably the Phenom II x4 965, which will eat that old P4 for breakfast (would eat for lunch and dinner too).

The minute I download the keyboard drivers... the keys work properly. Then, when I restart it.... boom... the keys are all screwed up. I hit the N key and a 6 appears??? Stuff like that. Anyway, any leads or suggestions, please let me know. I'm a real rookie at computers. Thanks,

Hi Buzz,
It sounds like you need to remap your keyboard. Go the following Microsoft webpage:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...69-57ff-4ae7-96ee-b18c4790cffd&displaylang=en

and download the Server 2003 tools software for free (good for XP too). Run the "remapkey.exe" tool to reprogram your keyboard--provided you're running Windows XP, of course.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

I wanted to update my mother board drivers. There seems to be a few that need updating. My question is, that is it kinda tricky to do these updates? Can you mess things up if you don't do it correctly? My mother board is a Gigabyte GA-81945P-G. Is it REALLY necessary to update these drivers, even if my system is running good? Thanks for any ideas on this.

A:Mother board drivers

I would only use the CD that came with the motherboard to install the drivers. If everything is running ok I would not upgrade the drivers unnecessarily. This used to be a school of thought, but isn't the case anymore. If it works don't fix it. I never choose to randomly update my graphics or auto drivers any more. As long as they are working I leave them alone. Updating the drivers can sometimes result in negative results and cause you to roll back the driver to the previous one.

Hi: I found your form surfing the web. There is a lot of information here. I have a problem hope to gain from the experience many of you have. My daughter has a Dell C600 laptop. Her power cord melted into the socket in the computer. I took it to a repair guy and he cut the socket off and tried to get the rest out with a pair of neddle nose pliers. The result was not successful. He then informed me that if he had to take the machine apart, it would cost more than the computer is worth. My questions are: could the melting of the power cord while the computer was on have hurt the computer. I would hate to pay for such a replacement of that socket to have a dead computer. The second question is: how much should one pay for such a repair? Thanks in advance for your time and advice.

A:How bad is the damage to the mother board?

Not sure how that would have happened. But I'd say you have at least a fair chance that the computer is still ok, and only the power supply is screwed. But then again if the cord melted, something seriously wrong happened and your motherboard might be fried too.

Maybe ask the shop if they will sell you a powersupply for a dell system? They might have a few laying around. That way you can just swap the power supply out yourself (easy job) and see if the computer will turn on.

There is really nothing the shop can do to fix it if the motherboard fried during the meltdown. If there is critical data on the hard drive you can take it out, and get an adapter to have it work in your desktop PC, either internally or externally through USB 2.

I inadvertantly fried my motherboard by plugging a usb device into a usb port upside down. (the little white piece had fallen out of the usb port which allows usb cables to plugged in only one way). My question is - if a motherboard shorts out does that mean that my processor, sound card, etc are also toast? I will replace just the motherboard if that is all that is bad, but if I have to replace the processor, sound card, etc then I might as well buy a new pc. Is there any way to test the processors and sound cards to see if they still work? Thanks for your help in advance.

Question is, Can I rebuild the system with getting a new mother board and possibly a video board and reuse the existing hard drive? The old system was A P4, 1.4gz with ME. A:Installing a mother board

Theres a good chance that your Restore discs wont work with the new motherboard and when using XP you usually cant replace a motherboard without doing a clean install of Windows. The old motherboard drivers will keep Windows from loading or make the computer unstable. Replacing a board isnt that hard. Just make notes of where everything goes. The first time I did it I marked every cable with tape. I replaced a board in an eMachine. Physically it worked fine except the front panel connector was proprietary and I couldnt connect it to the new motherboard.

Thanks

Asus Motherboard for Intel P4 Processors Model P4PE-X

thats the mother board im going to buy

and this is the ram im gonna buy

CRUCIAL MICRON 512MB 64x64 PC 3200 DDR RAM

is it ok that i only buy one stick? to me i would think it should be fine, but i read some review from a motherboard that said it is a good motherboard if i just wanted to use 1 stick of ram, didnt really know what that meant, i know back in the day some MB's needed to have atleast 2 sticks of ram, not sure if this is the case now... you guys have all been soo helpful.... just wanted to say thanks and that i appreciate all the feedback... :grinthumb

A:question about mother board/ram

Nah, you can use 1 stick or the maxium sticks of memory it holds without the performance being affected by how many sticks your using (except if you were to use 2 sticks in Dual Channel mode).

Hi guys,

As you can see from my system spec I am currently running a old sock A mo/bo and cpu, my win-7 32bit O/S is installed and runs ok (a bit slow but stable)

However, I have just treated myself to some new parts which are, Asus M4A785TD-V EVO Socket AM3 mo/bo, AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 CPU and Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz HyperX Memory Kit CL7 1.7V Ram.

Once these new parts are installed and I connect my current hard drive with my current O/S installed will it boot into windows or will it not like all the hardware changes ?

A:Upgrading mother board, Cpu and Ram

It's possible that it will boot into Windows and install the necessary drivers and such. I would not trust it myself and would opt for a new installation instead.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow whese steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove and newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and than restart your computer.

Hello,

I have a 701 mhz processor amd. Can I upgrade my processor to something faster in a az11 mother board?

Thanks!

Motherboard specs: http://www.fic.com.tw/product/motherboard/1stmainboard_detail.aspx?type=legacy&model_id=2

Compatibility test: http://www.fic.com.tw/support/motherboard/document.aspx?model_id=2

Looks like a 1.1Ghz Athlon on the 100Mhz FSb (200Mhz effective bus) It wouldn't be much of an upgrade.

Okay, so me and my brother are planning on building a computer soon.

For the CPU, we chose to go with an AMD Athlon X2 64 6000+
GPU, and 8800GT, when we can get our hands on one of coarse.
For the cooling unit for the CPU, i had the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm suggested to me.
For the RAM we decided to go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145098.

I am still hacing problems choosing a mother board and PSU, it's been a long time since i've even swapped boards and PSU's out of cases. So i was wondering if anybody could suggest a good mother board for gaming. Preferably a more inexpensive board, but the price doesn't really matter that much. And also if someone could suggest a PSU, or has better suggestions for RAM and a cooling unit, that would help a lot.

A:help with picking mother board and PSU

First, spend the extra seven dollars and go with this RAM. It is faster than the RAM you picked out, and it is made by Corsair, one of the most trusted makers of memory.

As for a motherboard, you might want to consider this one. SLI-Ready, AM2 socket, DDR2 RAM, gigabit ethernet, relatively high customer reviews, and has then name ASUS, a respected motherboard maker. I narrowed down your choices on NewEgg to these ten, assuming you hope to set up SLI sometime.

I'm not entirely sure that your cooler will be sufficient. The cooler I use for my Athlon 6000+ is this Zalman 9700. It is three times more expensive, not to mention huge, but it does the job.

where can i find a diagram for an fic k8mc51glf mother board i tried the fic web site but could not find one

A:mother board diagram?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I can`t find that model on the fic website either. Are you sure you`ve got the correct model number?

Is the mobo currently in use? If it is, the free Everest or SIW programmes may be able to identify it.

I have a Gateway machine and in the past few weeks the on board video card started acting Fryed? Board Mother up It would either give me the video driver stopped Mother Board Fryed? working or just flash a static screen and reboot I replaced the video card and the video problems stopped however my internet connection started going out for periods of about seconds at a time kept getting disconnected from an online game I replaced everything up to the NIC and had the ISP run a check on the line This left the NIC as the only probable problem When I went to replace the NIC I don t think I had the card all the way in due and rebooted the machine and it did not find the new hardware I then made sure the NIC was installed correctly and went to turn the machine back on and nothing it was dead The green light on the mother board is still on and I did replace the PSU and still have the same problem I m guessing with the other on board components going out it is the mother board but I just wanted another opinion before replacing it Thanks nbsp

i had BSOD problem and found out the problem is mother boards ram slots and one of my ram is also malfunctioning.

After replacing with a new different mother board i am getting BSOD in startup.

i thought windows 7 will automatically accept the new chipset. Is there are any ways to prevent from reinstalling windows again ?

thank you.

Note : since the system is getting BSOD in the startup i couldn't get the dump file.

dear friends, first of all happy new year to all.

i want to know the specifications and names of different types of slots in mother board, from the beginning to this date.

And what computer course are you doing, that requires this (plus the other similar question posted in the forum)?

Have you tried Google for this information, or do you just want people here to do the reseach for you?

The information you seek can easily be found on Google, for all such matters.
