EVGA GTX 560 Ti 2 Win 2GB dual-GPU graphics card

Q: EVGA GTX 560 Ti 2 Win 2GB dual-GPU graphics card

I wonder if EVGA had the official 'okey-dokey' before pushing out this little gem. It handily bests the GTX 580 while sporting 2GB 's of memory.(only 1GB per GPU however). In many situations it will give the GTX 590 a run for its money...actually for about $200.00 less. At the same price as the average GTX 580, this card would seem to be ready to cannibalize sales of both the GTX 580, and 590 if it is made widely available. It's seemingly an odd move, but a tremendous card according to the folks over at PC Perspective

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: EVGA GTX 560 Ti 2 Win 2GB dual-GPU graphics card

The card more than likely has Nvidia's stamp of approval since at the price point it equals enthusiast territory, and like the dual GTX 460 EVGA launched earlier, I think the card is neutered on being SLI'ed with another of it's kind ( strike one). Nice niche card but...
At $500+ it's also going up against EVGA's own GTX 560Ti DS (with similar cooling) that's clocked faster and would certainly have more OC headroom at the same price point (SLI) (strike two)
Like the dual-GTX460 (and the PowerColor dual HD 6870) I wouldn't think the card would see widespread release. It checks the same boxes as the conventional two card setup ( good price/ perf. relatively cool'n'quiet ..but is still saddled with the 1GB frame buffer and 256-bit bus that makes it less than suitable for Surround/ 3D/ 3D Surround (strike three).

I'm actually surprised that EVGA haven't launched a dual version of their GTX 580 Classified 3GB (just for PR's sake at least) and Nvidia probably would frown upon a GTX 570-2Win, but I'm also guessing that the PCB, extra memory and VRM's would make it prohibitively expensive in any given that those two options are off the table, then a dual GTX 560Ti becomes the de facto choice I suppose.

I just installed Windows XP Service Pack 3 on two of my computers, which run the same graphics card, an eVGA GeForce FX 5200, AGP 8X, DDR, 128 mb. When I go to display settings (right click desktop, properties, settings, advanced, adapter) the card isn't listed, and all the information is listed as <unavailable>. I've downloaded the driver software from both and, but the installation software was not able to detect the graphics card on both computers. Furthermore, when I go to the device manager, there's no unknown devices listed, or even display adapters. What do you think I should do?

A:eVGA graphics card on XP Service Pack 3

When you downloaded from nVidia, did you do ALL the steps for removing their drivers FIRST (using Add/Remove Programs, etc)? Including using Driver Cleaner?

Remember, your old drivers are actually installed, even though SP3 did not see them.

After doing all the above, then reboot to desktop. IF the New Hardware Wizard starts, [Cancel]. Then run the saved nVidia setup file (you did save it on your system correct?)

Hi there, a quick questions if anyone can please answer.

My 5 year old graphics card broke not to long ago and I've been looking into getting a new one (EVGA Geforce GTX570), but I don't really know if it is compatible with my computer. I looked through the requirements and my computer specs, but the only thing I noticed is that I just need to upgrade my power supply, if anyone can help is that the only thing I need to upgrade, and everything else is fine? And if so how big of a power supply watts should I get?

And the card: 500 Series Family&uc=EUR

Thank you.

A:Evga 570 Graphics card compatible with this computer?

Yeah, It looks like it should work, it is PCI-E X16, which is also on your motherboard, so that means it will fit. But since your motherboard is AMD, I reccomend a Card from ATI or AMD, in my experience, An amd card works better on an amd motherboard.

A:Nvidia (eVGA) 7600gt graphics card freezing quite often in-game

This can be any number of reasons having to do with the hardware on your video card. First, I'd keep the Forceware software running in the background and do a quick alt+tab to see if you’re overheating. Overheating will cause your VPU to crash and the VPU recover(er) (whatever Nvidia calles it) to try to bring it back. You could also try using bare min graphics settings to see if that has any effect. If none of that helps, try uninstalling all the Nvidia software and drivers and let Windows update install its driver and see if that changes (you can always re-install forceware). If none of that works, you'll need to locate another video card (borrow one if possible) and install its drivers to see if that has effect.

As for your other question, I'm not sure on that model but in general, the fan should suck fresh air past your medal heatsinks and out the other end.

My son got new parts for Christmas. He keeps freezing at windows startup, profiles, or at the desktop. It seems to work better when he keeps the side panel off. He's concerned that something is overheating.

HIs power supply sits at the bottom of the computer. Should the fan on the supply face up or down? What steps should he take to troubleshoot? Any suggestions or experience.

Hey all,
I've got a bunch of HP Compaq dc5800 and dc6000 small form factors in the office I do IT support for. A couple of the employees have requested the use of multiple monitors, but I quickly discovered that the standard video card in these models does no support this function. I have looked on-line for an appropriate card replacement, but haven't found one that will fit into the compact design of the small form factor PCs.

Does anyone know of a specific make/model of graphics card that will fit? It doesn't need to be super powerful, just capable of running two monitors, (typically they have both a VGA and DVI port).

Thanks for your help.

Hello Forum, im CrazyKilla

I have Dual GTS 450s which work very nicely, although performance isn't too great, at first i didn't know how to enable SLI, but then i found this in NVIDIA Control Panel

The problem is, Every time i start up my PC, i have to open up the drop box, and change from GTS 1 to GTS 2, or GTS 2 to GTS 1, then dedicate that card to PhysX, that enables SLI, but only some of the time,

Why do i have to switch what card is Dedicated to PhysX every time i start PC to enable SLI? i know if its enabled or disabled because i have a program called TechPowerUp GPU-Z that shows if SLI is enabled, and also if SLI is enabled my gaming performance increases a lot,

A:Dual Graphics card SLI Problem

So you have to reset the options every time?

It might be worth uninstalling / re-installing the video drivers and doing a custom installation. Don't install: the updater, the 3d vision drivers, hd audio. Basically you only want the video driver and physx.

During the process, there is an option checkbox to "Perform a clean installation" -make sure you enable that. It basically sets everything to defaults during installation.

As for the Physx dedication - leave it to Auto.

A:Dual graphics card - BSOD etc....

Alright, let me see if I'm understanding the situation correctly:

You want to use the dedicated card over the iGPU, correct? I'm not entirely sure how laptops handle the switching process, but you might want to try disabling the iGPU from within the BIOS. However, despite having just recommended that let's clear up a few things.

1. Fill out your system specs. It'd be a lot easier for me (and everyone else) to help you.
2. Are there any drivers for the card installed?
3. What was the cause of the BSOD? I'd hazard a guess at it being IRQL Not Less Or Equal (driver related).

I just purchased this pre-built machine:

Acer Aspire AM3970-UR14P DT.SJYAA.003 Desktop PC

I'm attempting to order a graphics card upgrade ( probably an affordable Nvida GT 650 ti . Obviously the card will consume some space due to the fan. I'm trying to figure out if the card ( or a similar dual slot PCIx card) will fit onto the motherboard. I know from past experience that a lot of non-custom built PCs have little to no room for expansion.

I've searched all over the net about this particular model number of Acer Aspire and can come up with no information about the motherboard to check for myself.

Would anyone happen to know where i can find info about the motherboard for this particular model of Acer Aspire desktop?

** Also, i do intend on removing the included radeon card.

A:Will a dual slot graphics card fit in my machine?

It is hard to tell if it would fit the case, but the specs state that your computer only has a 300W Power Supply and that definitely will not work with the card you list.

A:Dual Graphics Card Driver Screwup

Create a restore point first, even though the drivers are not stable right now.
Download the Intel driver from -
Download the amd driver from -
The above 2 listed links are directly from the vendor site - Intel and AMD. These are latest releases than compared to the drivers listed on the Dell support site.
Download the BIOS from -
From the same link above, you could also choose to download the old but stable drivers for the Intel and AMD video drivers.
Once done, uninstall the existing video drivers from device manager and from control panel -> programs and features.
Update the BIOS and restart the system. Once in windows, create another system restore point.
Install the Intel driver first - restart the system and then install the amd driver and restart the system.
This should fix the driver related issues you are facing. Once all installations are done, create one more restore point for future reference.
Keep us updated.

I am getting a 2nd 6850 mid-week. Will I be able to do DVI-DVI-HDMI with a 2nd card or am I still in the same boat?

I guess it's not that big of a deal if I have to get a DisplayPort-DVI or HDMI adapter, I'm just curious.

Hello there, Johnathan.

I'm not a Multiple monitors guy. but i'm pretty sure that you can connect them like that:

I guess is possible because the purpose of adding another card to you rig is somehow related to the fact that you want to add more monitors (of course, this is only one of the reasons for multiple cards), hence, you need extra ports for connecting all the monitors. hehe Somebody please correct me if i'm wrong

I have an Inspiron 560, currently using the on-board graphics (Intel G45/G43). I found an old Radeon PCI video card so I though i could install it and use a second monitor (this is just a business computer -- no gaming or anything).
When I installed the PCI card the system seemed to disable the on-board graphics and I can't find a way to have both on at the same time.
This old card may make my system run slower, I'm not sure, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Any ideas on how I can have both on together?
FYI I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Hey guys,
Very simple question here. I wanted to set up a dual monitor thing on my Dv6-1352. I believe it has this integrated graphics chip : Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. I wanted to use the dual monitor capabilities on it, but I was wondering if over time, extended use of the graphics card due to dual monitors would make it over heat/kill it. I don't plan on playing games, just using it cuz A) Its pretty cool B)It'd help increase efficiency in my engineering school work documents which requires I have a lot of things open at the same time.

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure if I will be able to provide an answer but someone else here may be able to help if we knew the exact brand and model number of your computer and/or motherboard.

Your subject line mentions a graphics card. If you do have a separate graphics card plugged in, also please give us the exact brand and model number of the card.

Any help would be much appreciated My computer has onboard graphics Nvidia geforce nforce a which works fine I wanted to do a dual monitor setup with my TV Panasonic TH- PX U I first checked with my computer manufacturer quot Shuttle Barebones quot Card/Dual Problem Solved: Monitor Installation Please Graphics Help! and was told that the Nvidia Gforce GT graphics card would be a suitable choice I purchased an HDMI w Ethernet cable and installed the new card When I first made the installation the connection to the TV worked It displayed my desktop etc When I turned it off I was unable to get the signal back on the TV I checked with Panasonic tech support and was Solved: Please Help! Graphics Card/Dual Monitor Installation Problem able to determine that the problem is most likely that I must use the lowest resolution setting on the computer as the TV is not really meant to be used as a monitor but it could work As I had a picture and sound before I think it will work However I am having a heck of a time with the computer settings in Nvidia Control Panel and some strange readings in my Device manager for the new installation I disabled the original Graphics card and the computer monitor is functioning normally on the new card However the peculiar reading in device manager is this Under Display adapters the old card correctly shows up as disabled and also reads under quot Location quot Bus device function The working quot Enabled quot card reads quot Location PCI Slot PCI Bus Device Function O IS THAT CORRECT or does it mean that this card is somehow NOT registering correctly Second In the Nvidia control panel I setup a quot Dual quot setup with the computer monitor as my primary quot quot and the TV as my secondary quot quot When I click on quot Identify quot the primary is identified as and when I click on the TV secondary it is identified as quot quot also and in fact there is still no signal passing from the card to the tv but I will try to do this using the lowest resolution and see if it works again I am not certain which settings in the Bios like Onboard or PCI express are correct I did a tremendous amount of research and the only other thing I came across was that the setting for the card under registry edit should be quot Allowed quot and not quot Read only quot so I enabled that but it seems to insist upon quot Both quot Allowed and Read Only being checked Can anyone shed some light on this and offer advice as to how to get this setup to work Incidently the tv tech support had me check that my HDMI cable and HDMI connection on the TV were working properly and they ARE Many thanks for any assistance Anxious to get this solved nbsp

A:Just bought a Dual Monitor Graphics Card. DVI signal won't work.

So the VGA to VGA works. The DVI to DVI doesn't work.

The Video Card came with a DVI to VGA Adapter. So I decided to unplug everything. Connect the DVI to VGA adapter to the DVI Port of the graphics card and connect a VGA Cable to the end of that adapter to the monitor. So DVI Out/DVI-VGA Cable/VGA to VGA to Monitor and got (again) no signal under Analog or Digital.

Im stuck. I dont know what to do

Any thoughts? Thanks guys

Ive never had this glitch, but then again I dont normally run dual monitors, though I have in the past. Im running a 3870 x2. I also have a 4550 though ive never run dual monitors, and the 200m in my laptop has no issues with a external display as well as the ATI 4200 in my wifes compaq, with no issues. . .are your drivers up to date? and what OS are you using it in? ive tested m7 3870 x2 in xp home and vista ultimate-have not tried it with my 3870 in 7 yet, though the 4200 worked in 7 no problem. The only issue ive had with the compaq is with an external display attached, if its a mirror no problem, if I extend it reverses the screen on the laptop itself, really weird lol but ill get that figured out.

Hi guys, new and in need of help please.

Probably a basic problem to most but struggling here.

It has Windows 7 & a GeForce GT240 1024MB graphics card

I cannot get my 2nd monitor to work with a new PC I had last week. The DVI port seems to be the problem.

Both monitors work independantly through the VGA port fine, no problems, but neither work through the DVI port when I use a simple DVI to VGA adapter, I have tried 2 of these just to make sure it wasn't a dodgy adapter.

I have followed the various windows 7 'set-up dual monitors' tutorials but with no luck.

Nothing happens at all when I plug the 2nd monitor in.

Any thoughts?

Could I need to download a driver or anything?

Thanks for any help.

A:Problem setting up dual monitors with 7/GeForce GTS240 Graphics Card

Does that video card support DUAL VGA monitors? What I'm getting at is, is that DVI connector on the video card a DVI-I or DVI-D? If it's only a DVI-D (Digital only) the DVI to VGA adapter won't work. If it came with the DVI to VGA adapter one would assume it is DVI-I (integrated, digital and analog).

EDIT: I just tried a DVI to VGA adapter on my 220GT and it worked OK. This card has 1 VGA and 1 DVI conector. I'm running 2 VGA monitors as I type this. To be honest I was not expecting this to work.

i've never tried to hook up dual monitors before so its probably something simple. i installed a new graphics card a while back and haven't used the original for months, and now that im trying to hook up dual monitors it wont even recognize the original in the device manager, or that i have a monitor plugged into it. both monitors work perfectly fine in the newer card slot. any assistance would be appreciated. thank you for your time.

A:computer wont recognize original graphics card for dual monitors

You can't use your onboard video card and an add-in card at the same time, it's one of the other. Well you can, but only on motherboards that support hybrid CrossfireX. In most cases your onboard video is disabled when an add-in card is detected by the BIOS. To use dual monitors you will have to have a video card that supports it and connect both monitors to that video card. Then press the Windows key and the P key to extend your desktop onto the second monitor.

EDIT: Filling in your system specs would help.

Mark, welcome to the forum. Yes, I believe that your motherboard should be compatible with the video card. The card requires UEFI in the motherboard and your motherboard should have it. Just be aware that the specifications for the card state that it only requires a power supply unit (PSU) with 300W. Many members have reported that it is more like 400W. You can try it with the current PSU, but if it doesn't work I suggest one made by Corsair. I recommend at least 500W. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

after many trial and errors with the fans.. i finally figured out why my PC is still so loud.. well the NB chipset cooler on this motherboard (eVGA NF43) is very loud for a little tiny fan. so i decided to replace it with passive cooling.. such as the Zalman ZM-NB47J

Question is.. i have a 6600GT right by the chipset cooler.. will the zalman fit in there? i kno it wont with the 7800GTs but im not sure how much longer ther PCB's are on those cards.. maybe someone can help me =]

A:eVGA 6600GT + eVGA NF43 + Zalman ZM-NB47J = happy? or not?

After looking at my 6600gt, the picture of the motherboad, and the picture of the cooler, I don't think it will work. You use the blue pci-e slot right?
I guess there are several options. If your chipset stays plenty cool you could try slowing the fan either using a software program, or by using a manual fan speed controller. Or I've seen people with the same heatsink and a similar board layout cut some of the spokes(or bend them), so that it wouldn't interfere with the card. There also might be replacments with a fan that is quieter available.

How recent is the SLI? Have you just added the 2nd card?

Do both cards work fine if you just have 1 installed?

Hi Ken, Look aon the top back of the graphics card for a switch. See the below image. You should have received a pamphlet in the box describing the use of the switch (legacy mode or UEFI mode). If your PC has a version 8 HP BIOS then disable secure boot if set. If your PC is not at a version 8 BIOS level then the switch should be in legacy position. The pamphlet should describe the use of the switch.

Best advice that I've seen about this error (from here: )

What you're looking for will be in one of the following categories:

a) BIOS bug
b) a driver whose activity is causing the target processor to lock up
c) a hardware defect (temperature, voltage, dust, RFI, outright borkedness...)

So, check the drivers
Then check the inside of the case (temperature, voltage, dust, etc).
Then run some hardware stress tests

Try this free video stress test: FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
Try this free stress test: Free Software - GIMPS

Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Then try replacing parts.
Then look up the versions of your BIOS to see what changes were done.

Hi, I have a EVGA e-GeForce 7600GT 256 MB PCIe Video Card which supports the SLI technology allowing me to link up 2 or more graphics cards for greater performance. Now this card has DDR3 memory. I wanted to know if I can link it up with a DDR2 memory graphics card which also supports SLI. If I can, how will this difference affect performance?

A:Linking a DDR2 memory graphics card with DDR3 SLI graphics card?

Which card?? "A card with DDR3 memory", or "A thingy with a red switch on it" tell us just as much.
But if it's not another 7600 GT you're trying to SLi, just forget it, especially if you're going to buy the other card.

i have 2 ati radeon hd 4850's. right now they are connected with the crossfirex bridges and i'm only using one monitor and running crossfirex. i'm thinking of getting a second monitor for better gaming/seeing more stuff in flight sim X.

what i can't find is how to use 2 monitors with 2 cards. do i remove the crossfirex bridges and connect one monitor per card, or do i keep the crossfirex bridges and connect both monitors to the first card, still running crossfirex?

A:dual graphics cards, dual monitors, ati crossfireX

I would just connect the 2 monitors to the one card and then extend the desktop using either desktop properties or Catalyst control center.

I saw a 6800 on newegg for a pretty good price, its the eVGA Geforce 6800GS 256-P2-N386 Video Card - Retail, is it any good? will it run with my pc? cud im play the latest games if i got it? heres my specs:

anthlon 64 3500 venice
2x 256 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM
windows xp home edition
pci express slot
250 gb hard drive

and here is a link to my mobo:

well wud this card run on my pc, and is it a good card? i might also need a new PSU seeing as my current one is only 300 watt, and i dunno if i got money for that, also if i had more cash i wud add another 512 mb ram, in case, what kind of ram do u guys think I should get?

A:can my system handle the eVGA Geforce 6800GS 256-P2-N386 Video Card - Retail

Yes your motherboard could run it, yes it is a good card, yes you will need a new psu (I suggest the Antec TruepowerII 550) and yes, you need more ram. You have enough ram to run all of the modern games, but only in lower settings. If that's ok, then get the card and a psu.

The comparison you are making between GPU brands is pointless as a diagnostic. The MAIN difference I can see is that one card requires external power, and the other one does not. A proper diagnostic would be to test another GPU that requires external power.

I've heard that the specific PSU you bought will sometimes not power all the hardware it is supposed so.
People saying it could barely power a SSD, or even an extra fan.

My thoughts. Try using another PSU, try using a similar GPU. Use your old PSU and see if it still happens for starters.

My graphics display suddenly stopped for my computer. My PC is not even recognising my monitor, I tested my monitor with some other PC's and it is working properly. I though graphics card not working.??

But since my existing graphics card is gone and there is no on board graphics card on my PC I am not able to uninstall existing graphics card and install new one.

Could some one please suggest me what to do in this situation to see some thing in monitor so that in can start doing Uninstall/Installtions.?

Thank you very much for your replies in advance. I really apprecite it.

A:How to install graphics card when the existing graphics card in not working.

You could always stick the new one in and boot up in safe mode. Then proceed to uninstall all the remnant drivers. That *shouldn't* cause any problems, but it may be choppy when you boot up.(I've had this happen before, swapping a Riva TNT2 for a GF6600).

I'm currently running dual 7970s and I noticed a lot of motherboards run 2x8x with dual video cards but some boards will run at 2x16x, so I was just seeing if anyone can tell me if theirs a big diff between running 2x8x and 2x16x with crossfired cards. thanks a bunch!

ASUS GT240 graphics card "ERROR CAN NOT FIND GRAPHICS CARD" Can anyone help me with this error message? I can hear the windows startup sound but it shows no display so i plugged the cable into the motherboad and an error box opend wich stated "ERROR CAN NOT FIND GRAPHICS CARD" with no additional information. I searched online and found that asus smart doctor can cause this and they recommend that you uninstall and reinstall the drivers to fix this problem but the pc is not picking up the graphics card to reinstall all the needed drivers. I also found people with the same problem and after they did a clean install of windows7/vista and all the drivers the error box still appeared. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the PCIe set as first to initialize in the BIOS? Also, have you tried the card in another slot on the MoBo? Have you tried cleaning out the slot with canned air? Have you tried using a pencil eraser to gently clean the contacts in the GPU where it plugs into the PCIe?

And please, thoroughly fill out your System Specs by clicking on the tab under your post.

Hey, recently, I have came up with an idea of a fourth monitor, but my GPU (970) supports only three, which ones that I own. It has fourth one but I don't have the right cables for it for now.
I noticed that my motherboard has two open video ports, one being VGA which I needed. So, I tried just plugging it in and seeing what happens but it doesn't seem to work, I have tried looking for results around the internet and BIOS but they don't seem to work. The three monitors which I have plugged into my GPU, work perfectly fine, but, as I said, the motherboard's VGA port doesn't work. I have heard that such thing definitely is possible, but I cannot find out what I need to do.

Does anyone have an answer to this?

If my motherboard currently has an intigrated graphics card, but has a PCI-E slot, do I need to do anything special after inserteing my graphics card and installing the drivers, or should it just work right away?

A:How do you switch from an integrated graphics card to an "external" graphics card?

Most modern PCs will detect the new installation of the PCI graphics card and automatically disable the onboard graphics, so yes it should just work.

If for some reason you have problems, you may have to make a change in the bios, I cannot be more specific because each bios is different depending on manufacturer, and model of the motherboard.

Install the card, connect your monitor to it and boot up, when you get into Windows install the driver and reboot.

Its usually just the graphics cards, they do fail especially if they overheat - then video card fan not speeding up might have been the problem - most are dynamic and should actually speed up under load. Depending on the manufacturer of your 8800GTX you might be able to get it replaced under warranty if they have a 3 year or greater warranty.

A:Whats a Good Graphics card for Gaming and using Adobe Software-Graphics

I've done a lot of research on this because I built a new system back in August. While I am not much of a gamer, I needed a very good NLE machine. However, the card I chose is quite the gamer card but had all the extras I needed to run Adobe Video Collection.

I picked the Connect 3D Radeon X850XT Platinum card from Tigerdirect. At the time it was $350 but I know it's cheaper now. It's got everything you need for a demanding application like Premiere Pro 1.5 and its related software. 256MB of GDDR3 memory and dual DVI outs. I highly recommend this card. I've been using it since the start of September with Adobe and it's great.

Your CPU and memory are a bit more of an important factor with rendering and burning though. My new PC has a 3.4Ghz P4 and 2GB of 533Mhz dual channel RAM. It's an exceptional increase in speed and productivity over my old 2.4Ghz and 512 Rambus.

A:Problem installing new graphics card on Emachine/onboard-graphics

An extreme option

As you do have the option of a working computer prior to installing the new card I would back up any files that are important to you..
Then, before I would pay someone else BIG bucks, I would put in the new card and try a fresh install of windows. Force it to recognise your new card. The drivers that Windows will pick should suffice until the install is done and you can then install the card specific drivers from your disk.
This is given ONLY as a choice. I am not sure this will solve your problem but IT IS something this cheap bas____ would try before paying someone else.

Good Luck and check back, maybe someone else will contribute a better idea.

I just wanted to add that when I go into Device Manager there is no problem with the CD/DVD. I tried updating the driver through DM and Windows says the driver is up to date. I popped in a CD and it reads and plays no problem.

I just plugged my monitor into the new card (HD4770) and it works, did not disable or uninstall the integrated graphics. the integrated is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE chipset. The performance index went higher on paper but other than having better resolution I don't see a huge improvment. I still have video lag trying to watch streaming hd movies and my new camera (Panasonic Lumix ZS7) wont play video in HD over my computer. Must I disable and even uninstall the old integrated graphics too or am I missing something else?

A:I just installed a new graphics card, must I disable the old integrated graphics?

Have a look in your bios to see if it has an option to boot from pci-e or intergrated.
What is the motherboard you are using?

What I really want to know is how to disable my Radeon HD 4350 graphics card, so that I can swap to Intel HD on-board graphics.

This is so I can compare the two on their Windows Experience Index.

A:how to disable Intel HD Graphics to install PCI-E graphics card

It's likely to be an improvement, but check it and see.
Onboard graphics are disabled in the BIOS (Try looking under "Integrated Peripherals" or something similar.
You probably don't need to do this, but it's nice to know how.

Hi there, so I just installed windows 7 on my friend's computer. Previously they had a ATI graphics card (not sure which version) but now it says it has a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. Because of this, the resolution isn't displayed correctly and everything is enlarged. This is very annoying. Can anyone help please?? >-<

I have a H535 and added a PCI GeForce GT610 that will support up to 2 monitors. I can get both onboard and PCI to work using 3 monitors, except when I have to turn off the computer. Then the onboard graphics card fails to activate. Here is what I have to do to get it working correctly again (I call it "the shuffle").Turn off computerUnplug PCI cardTurn on computer (boots using onboard graphics)Turn off computerInstall PCI cardTurn on computer Then everything works fine again until I have to turn off the computer at which point I have to do the shuffle again.
