Preferred Solution: GeForce GT 430 good enough for Skyrim?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Expect to play on lowest details with low fps, around 20ish fps in heavy areas.

What resolution will you be playing at?

Im buying a Gtx 460 for my new setup and wanted to know how good it really is I looked at a later Nvidia GTX 295 and it had some higher stats than the GTX but its an older GPU, sorry for sounding like a beginner but I want to make the right choice.
I getting one with Just cause 2 and Crysis, I used systemlab can you run it to see If I could at the moment, I have a very old Nvidia Geforce 6800 which runs the games at minimum. Thanks.

A:How good is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 460

GTX 460 is one of the best choices for mid-range graphics at the moment... a very good buy imo

if you have a little extra cash, you may want to look into the Radeon HD5850

Yeah, for the last while I've been using a piece-of-shit Radeon HD 4350. I was on work experience today at my local IT shop, and there was a graphic card sitting there for months that I never asked about. Then me and my boss were discussing my rig and he asked if I liked gaming - of course I said yes, and he talked to me about the previously mentioned graphic card - the Gigabyte Geforce 7950 GX2, a dual GPU monster of a thing! He said I could have it and he'd take the money out of my wages.

My question is - is this card good enough for modern games?

A:Geforce 7950 GX2 - Is it good?

I don't think that I would do it. I play some modern games with my 9800GTX+....but I've thought about upgrading numerous times. Unless you get it for a steal, I don't think I would go for it.

eVGA Ti4600 worth it?

I bought this new gpu (Geforce fx 5200 128mb) and i think its pretty good, but after reading some forums im starting to wonder weather i made the right coice. Any tips?

A:Geforce fx 5200 128mb good or bad?

Unlucky

Dont mean to sound harsh but you have been bumped m8, i made the mistakea year back and forked out bout 90 quid for one and they arent much good at all, there wasnt much of an improvement over my geforce 2!

they are fine for just BASIC games but not for advanced games, my advice if your not to fussed about amazing g-cards would be to fork out some cash for something like a 256MB Radeon 9550 as they are a reasonable card (plays Half Life 2 on medium settings fine!) and very reasonable price!

Hope This Helps

This is just filler

A:Just how good is Nvidia GeForce FX 5500

It is not a good card. It is unable to handle the target DirectX version it was designed for without a host of problems/inefficiencies that come in the form of issues and major performance problems.

Also, it can NOT run Oblivion. It does not have the proper shader model support nor featureset for Oblivion so therefore it is below the minimum requirements for most newer DirectX 9.0 games.

There is a 3rd party Mod called "Oldblivion" that hacks Oblivion to remove many of it's graphical niceties that allows it to run even on many laptop/integrated cards. FX users have had some degree of success using this Oldblivion mod if you are stuck with this horrible, horrible card and wish to try playing Oblivion.

If you're a PCI user, realize you have the X1300 PCI option available. This card will completely demolish the FX series. NVidia also has a 6200 model in PCI that is a fairly good option as well.

i recently purchased the GeForce 6200 LE 256MB to retire my old GeForce4 MX4000 64MB video card.

and also i also been reading about the LE series of the GeForce line, calling it the "Lame Edition".

Although i have seen a increase in my 3D games, so it shouldn't be as bad as most proclaim it to be.

so, i just need a bit of insider on this...

is it really worth having??

A:NVidia GeForce 6200 LE (is it good to have?)

Shadow: Here is my two cents. If YOU are happy with it, what difference does it make if the reviewers say it's a Lame Edition?
The same holds true with all your hardware,
unless you want to spend all your time and money being on the cutting edge, which is always just one step ahead of you, and so is impossible.

Hi,

I've just got a new PC, and it has good specs (2gb RAM, 3.2ghz, 7200rpm 300gb HDD) appart from the GPU which is a X1550.

I'm considering a 8400GS LP (Low profile PC) as I am on a budget. I want to be able to run FEAR, Oblivion and possibly Empire: Total War.

Is it good enough? I'm not someone who needs stupidly high FPS, as long as it's playable i'm happy.

Cheers guys,

Alright,I have an ATI radeon 9200 128 mb AGP 8x graphics card at the moment.I want something better because this card is giving me bollocks. So I went online and for a reasonable R1250.00 I can get a Nvidia geforce 6600GT 256mb AGP 8x.My motherboard doesnt support SLI PCI-Express so i have to go the AGP route..Do you guys reckon this is a good choice or not?
A friend of mine said Geforce cards were unreliable and give problems, the only Cards i think are full of crap are the Radeons so far.

A:Is A Change From Ati Radeon To Geforce A Good Idea?

Both nvidia and ATI make excellent video cards. They both have very low performers, and they both have extremely high performers.

Your 9200 is pretty dated, and I'm not surprised that you aren't enjoying gaming with it. An upgrade to the 6600GT would make a pretty big difference. Of course it matters what your CPU and ram specs are as well, but assuming they are adaquate, you will feel like you have a new computer when after plugging in that 6600GT.

But keep in mind, the 6600GT is pretty much the lower level of what is considered good these days. It can handle today's newest games with good frame rates on medium settings. But it won't be able to hold on for too much longer. I'd give it another 6 months or so before it starts choking on the games that'll be coming out about then.

A:Dual Nvidia geforce 9600gts good idea?

It's called SLI. Make sure your MB supports SLI and you have 2 PCI slots. If when running 2 slots it defaults each to x8, you will lose performance. You would be better served to buy 1 high quality GPU, depending on your actual hardware. There are power issues as well. Here is a link on 2 SLI 9600's for some reference:

So I thought that I would be able to run Skyrim just fine on high settings but I guess I was wrong. My specs are:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
GPU: GTX 560 Ti
Ram: 12 gigs DDR3

There are plenty of other people who have the same GPU as me and are saying they are getting around 60 FPS. I am running on high settings and in cities, the lowest FPS I get is 25 FPS which I think is pretty low. I have updated my GPU drivers and for some reason I think it might be my CPU. When I overclocked my CPU, I got an extra 2 frames. Is there anything I could do to try to improve my FPS? I just bought this CPU a little while ago.

A:Skyrim Low FPS

Hi agentmass,

The specification of your PC speaks volumes, this is not a problem on your side. Many other gamers have been having issues running Skyrim.

1. The game is very new, not everyone will be running this game flawlessly - Wait for Bethesda to release patches.
2. It is a console port, PC gamers will have significantly more problems with regards to hardware/configurations.

I understand how frustrating it can be when you buy a new game and can't run it as it should be, Bethesda will be working on performance issues so expect fixes very soon.

In the meantime try this: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/11/t...e-graphics-disable-vsync-change-fov-and-more/

Skyrim tweaks to improve performance, you might not get the full graphical potential of the game but it may improve the gameplay. Search Google for more performance tweaks, people are always coming up with ways to improve gameplay.

I can't seem too run Skyrim for some reason though, I have newer hardware and surpass the requirements for the game.  I just put in a Nvidia Geforce 950, which, plays the game with ultra video.  I tried even reinstalling it with still the same problem.  Windows 7 86X, Nvidia Geforce 950, ASUS M5A97 PLUS AM3+ AMD 970/SB950, Kingston ValueRAM 8GB 240-Pin DDR3, AMD FX-4350 Vishera Quad-Core 4.2 GHz Socket AM3+

A:Skyrim Chrash

Are you running Windows 7 x86 or x64.... you state you have 8GB RAM. If your running x86 then its the 32 bit which is limited to only using 3GB of the 8GB. Maybe this is a typo.I'd suggest running memtest86 on the system to make sure that your RAM is healthy. I have had some problems in the past with the kingston value ram. I had a 1GB stick that booted system fine and system ran fine until playing world of warcraft in which the game would crash hard with a memory dump. Sometimes I would get the memory crash event detected by the game client and other times I would get a BSOD kernel dump. I ran memtest86 and it showed that the stick had an issue with a memory address in the 724mb range, so with Windows XP at the time only using about 300MB of RAM and rest of it free, WoW was touching on dangerous memory address. i just got skyrim for my pc and its fun and all but after a ton of attempts to fix it, i still only get about 4-6 fps. Ive tried updating my graphics card, changing the settings for max performance, changing the texture and shadow settings, allowing skyrim to use more RAM, changing the priority to high in the control panel, and nothing has been working at all. the only thing thats helped even a little was changing the resolution. skyboost and TESVAL dont work, and im about ready to just uninstall the game and give up. PLEEEEAAASE if you no anything that could help tell me. I DONT WANT ALL THAT MONEY TO GO TO WASTE SKYRIM IS EXPENSIVE

A:Skyrim EXTREME LAG NEED HELP

If you are using the Geforce card that is listed in your specs, then I really doubt that it would work because it's about 7 years old and that it's using system RAM to run as well.

Go to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ and choose the game (under The Elder Scrolls) and see if that video card is supported. I would be suprised if it is.

I assume this is a desktop?

Hi all,

I have been having frequent BSOD of deaths while playing Skyrim. I have ran Memtest and have scored 0 errors in 10 passes and also recently formated and reinstalled my windows 7 64bit system to try to get rid of the problem. However, the problem still persists and I do not know what to do next. Here are my system specs

Windows 7 64bit OEM
Athlon II x2 260
ATI HD 5670
MSI 870-G46 motherboard
Kingston HyperX blu 4GB Memory
Corsair 450 watt PSU
WD 500GB hard drive

I do not know if the BSOD that I am getting are a hardware or software/driver problem. I only get these BSOD while playing Skyrim. I have attached my required info files to solve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Try disabling your antivirus. Skyrim will crash occasionally anyway.
I would get rid of McAfee and Use Microsoft Security Essentials, it's free which is a bonus.
I would also download malwarebytes and run it http://shop.malwarebytes.org/lpa/34...54dc2c93bd02&gclid=CPzGnJS87K0CFdCP7Qod2SDd3w

Go to: Delete of steam.exe failed, Win32 Error 5 Access is denied (Steam Update stalls at 26 or 27%)

My specs:
Asus M4A790XTD
3.3 ghz chip - athlon x2 265

6GB ram

What do I need to upgrade so that I should buy Skyrim on my PC becuase the graphics/gameplay is much better, rather than my Xbox?

thanks in advance

A:PC upgrades for Skyrim

The best bet is to wait until after the game is released but I did find this:

Minimum System Requirements

* OS: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
* CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz or Althon X2 2.0 GHz
* RAM: 3 GB
* HDD: 15 GB
* Graphics: 512 MB card
* Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
* DirectX: Version 9.0c

Recommended System Requirements

* OS: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
* CPU: Core 2 Quad 3 GHz
* RAM: 3 GB
* HDD: 15 GB free disk space
* Graphics: 512 MB Graphics Memory
* Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
* DirectX: Version 9.0c

Supported Graphics Cards:

Minimum ? 8800 GT
Recommanded ? Geforce GTX 460/Radeon 5850

* It appears your system should run it fine. If you want to upgrade you could go a Phenom II quad core and a GTX 460 or ATI 6850. Right now the AMD quad cores are selling cheap.

With the latest BIOS you could even run a 6 core but a quad should do you fine. See this link: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1515656

*** Just make sure you do your homework on your motherboard to double check any changes you want to make. My personal opinion is to save up your money and build a new system within a year because your hardware is above the minimum requirements as it is with your cpu the only possible need to go to a quad core.

I have downloaded the latest patch for Skyrim and the latest drivers for my GPU, even so when I run Skyrim on low it is around 20 FPS, and 12 on ultra.

My specs are:
CPU: Intel Pentium dual core E2220 @2.40 GHz (overclocked @2.81 GHz)
MB: Foxconn MCP37M01H1
RAM: 4Gb ddr2 @ 800 MHz (overclocked @ 936 MHz)
HDD: 500Gb @7200 RPM
GPU: Nvidia GT430 (3Gb VRAM, 1400 MHz, overclocked @ 1600 MHz)
GPU report: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/mp2q3/
CPU report: (attached)
DxDiag report: (attached)

A:Solved: Low FPS on Skyrim

Also, I have tried mods that are supposed to increase FPS, it may be I need a new processor because when I am running Skyrim my CPU usage is always 100% even when it is overclocked @2.81 GHz, I find that outrageous that I would need better for low graphics setting but I do then I will buy a new one. I am looking into the intel core 2 quad QX9770, tell me if that would help if that is the case.

If you have lots of system RAM, then the 6100 is probably the best choice. You'd probably need at least a gig of RAM though.

If you only have 256, or 512, the 5200 might be the better choice. Best idea is to test your games with both setups, and see which plays better.

Nvidia designs and makes the GeForce line of graphics chips. Other manufacturers such as Asus, evga, BFX, PNY and others then use the Nvidia chips in their graphics card designs.

Well, I'm looking at upgrading again, and in the interest of finances, I'm upgrading the video and keeping the rest of the system the same. I'm currently running an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe w/ Athlon XP 3200+ w/ 1GB of PC3200 ram. I'm looking at replacing my BFG GeForce 5700 Ultra with something a bit more modern and keeping the price low. I've found a 6600 (may be and LE version). The GPU and memory clocks are lower and the pixels/sec isn't as high, but the 6600 has support for Shader 3.0 and has the ability to process MPEG2 video on card which will help watching DVD's and with my TV card also. Plus there's the support for processing HD Video. I'm just looking for people's opinion on whether this is a good upgrade or not before jumping in. Fell free to say whatever. Thanks!

Hello!

Looking at these cards there is a bit of a price difference, the MSI is ?479 and the ASUS is ?299.
The MSI does have better specifications than the ASUS so in performance I would go with the MSI. Although for value for money the ASUS is very good! So if I was just going for performance I would choose the MSI but if I wanted value for money then the ASUS is the one I would go for!

Anyone have recommendations? I've tried updating drivers and basic things. I'm almost tempted to remove the voices.bsa and try finding a new one to use.

A:Skyrim no voice overs

Goto your audio settings and turn up voice and turn down music. Make sure master audio is maxed out too. are you using surround sound speakers or headphones? some people are reporting issues with 5.1 headphones (if they are set to matrix) might not have the centre speaker working. check the surround settings in your sound manager. go to sound control panel in windows and select lower quality default format go from 24 bit 96000 Hz to 16 bit 44100 hz to test and see if it works

I went to install Skyrim and first it tried to install the "Steam Installer" but midway through the process I got the message:

Steam.exe (main exception): ERROR: delete of steam.exe failed, Win32 Error 5 "Access is denied."

Additional attempts to install met the same fate, as did uninstalling everything and trying again.

Not sure what exactly went wrong or how to fix it.

I am going to purchase this customized PC soon.

Intel Core i3 2120 3.30GHz
Kingston 4GB DDR3 RAM
HIS HD 6750 1GB DDR3
Cooler Master ELITE 370 Casing

Will it be able to run Skyrim? If so, on what detail? keep in mind for 1280x1024 resolution.
And How will it function on higher resolutions?

Will it be able to run Space Marine? Same questions as above.
Will it be able to run GTA4? Same questions as above.

Thanks.

Check out this benchmark of Skyrim,
http://www.techspot.com/review/467-skyrim-performance/page7.html
It has the HD 6750 included- At 1920/1200 the game performance drops just below playable FPS. So I am sure it is safe to say it will run Skyrim.

As for Space Marine and GTA4. I am sure you would get away with altleast medium - high settings with playable FPS in both games.

Hello to the community!!

This was a custom built PC (OS included- currently using) that I brought from an online seller last month.
I've been experiencing several BSODs for the last 2 weeks,. most of the BSODs occur after playing Skyrim though I just had another one right after booting when its just about to load the desktop.

Note:
I've intentionally disabled automatic updates (after SP1 update) since it slows down my already slow internet connection, I do however have SP1 installed. I also updated my graphics card driver and I installed Skyrim.

I am trying to download mods for skyrim, and also trying to download the SKSE (script extender). i have downloaded mods for WoW plenty of times, but for some reason whenever i try to download the SKSE, the download does not come in a format where i can extract or unzip the files to a location. it is just a plain white icon with no program attached to it. When i would do this process with WoW, the download would have the icon for what i assume is the default windows 7 unzipping program. and i could then extract those files to the location i want.

I even tried getting 7-zip, free download from CNET, but i had the same problem.

What am i doing wrong here?

Skyrim bouncing I hear the rattle then I turn around it stops This happens when a NPC sits down near the objects so they quot push quot away from the NPC I know this because when I lift something up and try to place it on their head it flys away in amazing speeds Once I entered a room and a frying pan came flying right at my and took a big chunk of health away from my bar It is a very wierd problem I have not found a single thread about it and not a single mention about in from Bethesda Anyone have any idea Playing on a Intel i Geforce GTX gb ram and windows -bit Thanks nbsp

I am playing Skyrim and recently i've started adding mods through Nexus Mod Manager, the game crashed occasionally after playing long hours. Today I got a BSOD.

A:BSOD playing Skyrim

1. Uninstall kaspersky internet security 2012: Removal tool for Kaspersky Lab products (uninstall completely before going to next step)

2. Install: Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

3. msconfig - boot faster and crash less.

1. Click on the Windows 7 start icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.

2. Type msconfig in the search box and then either press enter on your keyboard or double-click on the msconfig program that appears in the search results.

3. Windows 7 will launch Microsoft's System Configuration Utility. Click on the Startup tab.

4. This takes you to a page with a list of "startup items." Startup items are programs that are automatically loaded every time you turn on your computer. Some startup programs are absolutely necessary (Leave your Anti Virus Checked), others are simply a waste of RAM.

5. Click on the OK button.

6. A message will pop up telling you that you must restart your computer before these changes will take effect. Click on "Restart" and your computer will automatically reboot.

7. That's it! Your computer should now boot faster and crash less.

If you ever want to turn on any of the startup items you disabled with msconfig , just run msconfig again.

4. Scan for Spyware / Malware: Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.62 - FileHippo.com (Full Scan)

Wait for a Bsod, report back if you need further assistance.

A:BSOD during Skyrim and Dota 2

Hello bluemoonshiner and welcome to TSF!

Various different bugchecks, one of them being x124 hardware. Since we're only seeing one, I don't think it's CPU related unless I missed one as there's no consistency of x124.

On July 12th, you got a BE bugcheck in which the driver SteelBus64.sys (SteelSeries Bus Enumerator) tried to write to read-only memory. Since then, it has not shown up in another dump file, but it still listed in your modules list as the same time & date (so it wasn't updated or removed).
I would recommend making sure the software / driver for this device is up to date here. If it is at its latest version, I would recommend removing the device just to be sure this is not the culprit.

dtsoftbus01.sys is listed which is the Daemon Tools driver. Please fully remove/uninstall DT from your system as it is a very popular causer of BSOD's. Optional visualization programs are: MagicISO, ImgBurn, PowerISO, etc.

Stop 0x124 is a hardware error.... if you are overclocking try resetting your processor to standard settings and see if that helps ... if you continue to get BSOD here are some more things you may want to consider ..

Quote:
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
Synopsis:

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.
Generic "Stop 0x124" Troubleshooting Strategy:
1) Ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Hardware that is driven beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - can malfunction in unpredictable ways.

2) Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled. If there is any doubt, open up the side of the PC case (be mindful of any relevant warranty conditions!) and point a mains fan squarely at the motherboard. That will rule out most (lack of) cooling issues.

3) Update all hardware-related drivers: video, sound, RAID (if any), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware. It is good practice to run the latest drivers anyway.

4) Update the motherboard BIOS according to the manufacturer's instructions. Their website should provide detailed instructions as to the brand and model-specific procedure.

5) Rarely, bugs in the OS may cause "false positive" 0x124 events where the hardware wasn't complaining but Windows thought otherwise (because of the bug). At the time of writing, Windows 7 is not known to suffer from any such defects, but it is nevertheless important to always keep Windows itself updated.

6) Attempt to (stress) test those hardware components which can be put through their paces artificially. The most obvious examples are the RAM and HDD(s). For the RAM, use the in-built memory diagnostics (run MDSCHED) or the 3rd-party memtest86 utility to run many hours worth of testing. For hard drives, check whether CHKDSK /R finds any problems on the drive(s), notably "bad sectors". Unreliable RAM, in particular, is deadly as far as software is concerned, and anything other than a 100% clear memory test result is cause for concern. Unfortunately, even a 100% clear result from the diagnostics utilities does not guarantee that the RAM is free from defects - only that none were encountered during the test passes.

7) As the last of the non-invasive troubleshooting steps, perform a "vanilla" reinstallation of Windows: just the OS itself without any additional applications, games, utilities, updates, or new drivers - NOTHING AT ALL that is not sourced from the Windows 7 disc. Should that fail to mitigate the 0x124 problem, jump to the next steps. Otherwise, if you run the "vanilla" installation long enough to convince yourself that not a single 0x124 crash has occurred, start installing updates and applications slowly, always pausing between successive additions long enough to get a feel for whether the machine is still free from 0x124 crashes. Should the crashing resume, obviously the very last software addition(s) may be somehow linked to the root cause.
If stop 0x124 errors persist despite the steps above, and the harware is under warranty, consider returning it and requesting a replacement which does not suffer periodic MCE events. Be aware that attempting the subsequent harware troubleshooting steps may, in some cases, void your warranty:
8) Clean and carefully remove any dust from the inside of the machine. Reseat all connectors and memory modules. Use a can of compressed air to clean out the RAM DIMM sockets as much as possible.

9) If all else fails, start removing items of hardware one-by-one in the hope that the culprit is something non-essential which can be removed. Obviously, this type of testing is a lot easier if you've got access to equivale... Read more

I bought an HP Pavillion DV6 around 2 years ago. Recently I started gaming but I have been limited to the older games that run better on my laptop. I recently bought The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim off steam because it was on sale for $5 (what a deal!). My laptop hardly runs it on the lowest settings with all other applications closed. The movement is choppy and all around terrible. I was wondering if there are any upgrades I can purchase or any settings I can change in order to make it run a little better? Few details about the computer, Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450 CPU @2.50GHz, RAM: 8.00GB, 64bit OS. I really don't know much about computers so I don't know if any of this is relevant... Thanks in advance!

A:Is there anyway to make my laptop run Skyrim better?

With having integrated graphics (not a dedicated graphics card), you will most likely never get Skyrim to play properly. Most Laptop computers cannot be upgraded like desktop computer. You are limited to what the manufacture allows you to upgrade (in your case it is just RAM). If you truly want to play Skyrim on your laptop, I would suggest the following settings for running the game:

Resolution: 1280x720 (if this is still choppy - drop to 1024x768 or 800x600)
Antialiasing : OFF
Anisotropic Filtering: OFF
Texture Quality: MEDIUM
Radial Blur Quality: LOW
Shadow Detail: LOW
Decal Quantity: NONE
FXAA: UNCHECKED
ALL Water (Reflect Land/Trees/Objects/Sky): UNCHECKED

Hope this answers your questions. Let us know how this works out for you.

Npo97 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about graphics problem in Win10 and wanted to help -- but need more information. Also, I see you're running Win10.  Did the PC come preinstalled with Win10? Or, did you upgrade it from a prior OS to Win10?  Asking because if you Upgraded it, there's the possibility that you're not running the right Video driver as the Upgrade tool often can not detect the right video hardware in PC with switchable graphics -- like yours. We can proceed once you provide the information. Thanks

I am suspecting that my BSOD is being caused by AMD Catalyst 12.1 (since its a preview and not official WHQL drivers) but im also speculating it may be Anti Virus' too aggressive real time protection. I am attaching my minidump to the post.

The only clue i have (which i can't read, and yes this is the first time ive had ANY custom built PC ive made in 6 years since picking up this hobby) is the error code that windows 7 gives me upon rebooting and is as follows:

BCCode: 3b
BCP1: 00000000C0000005
BCP2: FFFFF88004BD9B7D
BCP3: 000000000000000

Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1
please let me know (if you can) what program is causing this.

A:BSOD playing Skyrim

The blue screen was caused by DirectX, which could mean: 1. DirectX needs to be updated; 2. see Diagnosing basic problems with DirectX; or 3. your graphics card drivers are causing issues.

So i spent about $500 on a cheap gaming rig a couple months ago and now I'm looking to upgrade for Skyrim. Currently my specs look like this:

- AMD Athlon II x4 (Quad Core) 640 3.0GHz processor
- 4GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory
- 1 TB Hard Drive
- Nvidia Geforce GT520 1GB
- PSO 300W Power Supply

I'm barely able to run Skyrim on low settings with this current build. I want to upgrade my graphics card, first and foremost, and i'm looking to spend around $150. I've also looked into adding another stick of 4GB DDR3 ram.

I was hoping for any suggestions I can get because I would like to be able to run Skyrim on Ultra.

A:Video card for Skyrim

Your going to need a PSU upgrade to get anything spectacular. But a Radeon 6670/ GT 440 could keep you out of trouble.

if you had a 550W PSU I would say something on the lines of a GTX 550 ti/ Radeon 6790.

Asus 990FX Sabertooth
8gb Corsair XMS3 - 1333mhz

Asus 22x - DVD+RW
120gb OCZ Solid Series
1tb Segate - 7200rpm HDD
Kingwin - LZG Lazer 1000watt

I am most concerned about crossfire and if Skyrim will take advantage of it or not or should I just disable crossfire and use one card?

A:Can my PC run Skyrim on ultra settings?

No , 6850 crossfired wont run the game LOL JK JK.
Of course. Games need about 3 cores now adays, Crysis 2 BF3, use up about 60 percent of total CPU power. Your CPU and RAM is more then enough. You need a good video card now, and you have that in the 6850. You have them in crossfire, you should be able to play any game @ 1080p 8x CSAA 16xAF high quality,, game on high quality settings. gl

Hello There,

I have had this game in my steam library and I just Started playing the game as I finished all the games i had before it to play. Although i started to play they game and noticed the game was a bit laggy and had low FPS although at times it jump up to 40FPS and then back down to around 10-15FPS. I am using some graphics mods, I dont think its the mods because a friends of mine uses the same mods on the game and he doesn't have this problem. The only reason I am using mods is to make the graphics more realistic. If anyone has a fix to this please let me know.

Thanks
RitualJman

A:The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Lag and low FPS

1. Check your video setting in the game
2 Steam Community :: Guide :: TES Skyrim: Increase your FPS/Performance efficiently.
3. Remove the MOD see if FPS increases

I got a BSOD on skyrim.
Files attached here...

http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...hilst-wow.html

that's what happened last time (files also attached there). I think it's my mouse, that's what i was told last time, but this time it was from a different location I think. I don't know though, I'm stupid when it comes to tech stuff.

Why did you start second thread?

Not your mouse, your Mcaffee.
I do notice McAffee which is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST!

A:Skyrim or others games turns off my pc without warning

It might be caused by overheating. Recently i had a laptop that when also playing games with high graphics it would suddenly turn off. Try cleaning the dust and dirt out of you pc.
