Blue Screen Power State Failure

Q: Blue Screen Power State Failure

Just recently I began getting a blue screen with the words Power State Failure, mainly while browsing the internet, sometimes with other programs open, sometimes not. I wish I had more information than that but it restarts the computer so quickly I barely have time to read the rest of the information, though when it happens again I'll update this. I was hoping you guys may know more about it and possibly have a fix.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit--if you need more info, let me know. Thanks!

Preferred Solution: Blue Screen Power State Failure

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Excuse the lack of details:

OS - Windows 7
? x64
? OEM
? Have had it 3 months and never reinstalled OS, so OS has been installed 3 months.
? AMD Phenom II x4 940 3.0ghz
? ATI Radeon HD 4670
? MotherBoard -- not sure (where would I find it?)
? Power Supply -- not sure (where would I find it?)

So I keep getting the blue screen Power State Failure which I am sure you are all aware of. It's happening a lot to me, and it really needs to go away it's causing my computer to be incredibly slow. I think you need my minidumps to tell me how to fix this but I don't know how to get them on here... The help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi darnapkin,

You should have a look at the BSOD posting instructions, and run the applications listed there and get back to us with all that information.

Meanwhile I've looked through this specific one, error code is:

Code:
BugCheck 9F, {3, fffffa8009657060, fffff800044423d8, fffffa800a36ec60}
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for asmthub3.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for asmthub3.sys

PROCESS_NAME: System
The driver you're using:

Code:
asmtxhci.sys Wed Dec 08 10:14:06 2010 (4CFF5A6E)
Driver belongs to an USB hub, please update the drivers for this one at the manufactures website here.

Also please update this driver:

Code:
lirsgt.sys Sat Mar 06 19:53:01 2004 (404A2C1D)
Driver belongs to a CopyProtect application, manufacturers site found here. It's dated to 2004 which is way before Windows 7 was created. This shouldn't be used. Either uninstall it or update it.

As I said, if you need more information; I need you to run the applications from the BSOD posting instructions thread.

But you're welcome to try the other things I mentioned first.

Your storage controller (iastor) is causing memory corruption.

You should update its driver and download and run memtestx86, run it for 5 passes to test your memory

Let us know if you need help

The tuner is actually a YUAN DVB-T/Analog Hybried TV Tuner, but TOSHIBA OEM. And, Toshiba does not have any driver for that device that can work with Windows 7. Have a look here: Support :: Toshiba :: Computers, Laptops/Notebooks, Tablets, Televisions, DVD and Blu-Ray Players, Camcorders, Storage, Accessories, and more

In this situation, it will be the best for you to disable the device.

Hello!

I just bought a new Toshiba laptop on Saturday and I'm already having a bit of a problem. I've searched this out on Google already and it seems most people have this occur in a different situation than I do.

Twice now, I've gotten this blue screen that says "Power Driver State Failure."

It's happened while I was online or today just while I was writing an essay for my college class.

I've made sure everything is updated but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be having problems so soon.

Can anyone help me out?

Any suggestions would be really really appreciated.

A:Blue Screen with DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE

Hi Safyz and welcome to TSF.

Could you give us your full system specs so we can see what we are working with. If you are unsure what your specs are, download and run Speccy, then when it's generated the information (about 10 seconds) go File>Save Snapshot, and attach that .speccy file as well. (You will need to zip it to attach it here: Right click on it and select 'Send To'>'Compressed (zipped) Folder'.

Could you also tell us what PSU (Powers Supply Unit) you have and what wattage it is. To find this out, turn off the computer and open it up and look for a label on it. It should tell you the make and wattage there.

Also, next time you boot the machine can you:

Window Key+R and type msconfig and hit OK.
Under 'Services tab', tick 'Hide all Microsoft Services' and then uncheck the remaining programs and 'Apply'
Then under 'Startup tab' - Uncheck anything not Microsoft related then 'Apply' and OK

Could you also let me know if you have recently installed any new programs or hardware. What anti-virus are you running?

A:Power State Drive Failure and Blue Screen

Hello Hot Rod Todd,
This was caused by "sbp2port.sys", do you have any firewire bits on your PC, an ipod, or camera ?.
This sbp2port.sys works with the 1394 storage support, so if you have any devices connected to your PC, disconnect them and try it, if all goes well, you will need to update your drivers.

A:Driver power state failure - Blue Screen

Hi jlampila,

We can try few troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue between hardware/software:

To check if it is related to hardware, run the built-in diagnostics provided by the manufacturer on the computer to check if the hardware is working fine.

If diagnostics passes then it could be related to a driver problem.

You can configure the windows to ensure that minidump files are created, please follow the steps mentioned in the link: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD - Windows 7 Forums

With this information we can help: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Please post the results.

Your mini-dumps seem to be pointing at the driver file: vwifibus.sys which is your Virtual WiFi bus driver:

Driver Reference Table

Please make sure you have all the Windows 8 Updates until you can install no more.

I have found a number of drivers you should update or un-install/remove if un-needed as these can also be the cause of your BSODs:

iaStor.sys - Intel Storage Drivers - Driver Reference Table
mwlPSDFilter.sys, mwlPSDVDisk.sys, mwlPSDNServ.sys - EgisTec Inc. Fingerprint Biometrics: Driver Reference Table
bScsiMSa.sys - Broadcom Memory Stick Driver: bscsimsa.sys - What is bscsimsa.sys ?
b57xdbd.sys - Broadcom xD Picture Card Bus Driver: b57xdbd.sys - What is b57xdbd.sys ?
b57xdmp.sys - Broadcom xD Picture Card Miniport Driver: b57xdmp.sys - What is b57xdmp.sys ?
ETD.sys - ELAN PS/2 Port Smart Pad: Driver Reference Table
UBHelper.sys - NTI CD &DVD-Maker or NTI Backup NOW! or NTI CD-Maker by NewTech Infosystems (usually in Acer Empowering Technology): Driver Reference Table
NTIDrvr.sys - NTI CD-ROM Filter Driver by NewTech Infosystems (likely a part of Acer Empowering Technology): Driver Reference Table
IntcDAud.sys - Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Driver: Driver Reference Table
TurboB.sys - Intel Turbo Boost Driver: Driver Reference Table

You might also want to make sure your Acer is fully updated to the Windows 8 64 bit drivers. This includes chipset/motherboard and others: http://global-download.acer.com/File...iveUpdater.exe

I've noticed that your BIOS version is 1.05 and the latest appears to be 1.13 or 2.09 (for windows 7 upgrades). You might consider upgrading this as a last resort but please follow all manufacturers precautions before doing so as any errors may make your system inoperable.

A:Bugcode USB Errror and Driver Power State Failure Blue Screen Error

It's being caused by your fingerprint reader; you need to update or reinstall the drivers for those.

Hello,
I recently encountered a sudden blue screened error message with the following error that was suggested to research: "Power_Driver_State_Failure". I have only seen the error once thus far, but I fear that I may see it again at some point. It forced a restart, and the rebooting process was rather slow.
My operating system is Windows 8.1, and I have a Lenovo Y510p ideapad (nearly 9 months old).
Is this a significant error? Is there any way to prevent it from returning again?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
~Trav.~

I recently have been getting blue shutdown screens on my laptop. I will give you plenty of information about my computer. I put all the information about the Blue screen dump files and my System Information file in an attachment. I hope this helps. I recently found out you could save the System Information file as a text and also as an .exe. This should help diagnose the problem! This is how it happens, I will be using my computer and then the computer will become very slow and unresponsive. It is not completely unresponsive but it will be so slow that I cannot use it, then after about 3 minutes of this slow unresponsiveness the blue screen will show up and say driver power state failure and shutdown. I recently formatted the computer because it had been doing this before so I restored it back to factory defaults about one month ago.

As per both files your issue is with the Nvidia driver nvllddmkm.sys If we here at TechSpot received a dollar for every time this driver came up we could all retire. Go to Asus' website, find your exact notebook model and update the drivers from there.

So I just recently got a new computer, have had tons of problems with it already. Finally got it up and running and then I got a BSOD.

It is a Systemax Ascent
? OS - Windows 7
? x64
? What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7 64-bit
? It was an OEM Distro
? 1 month
? 3 days
? Intel Core i7 960 Bloomfield @ 3.2GHz
? Nvidia GTX 560 Ti
? Asus Sabertooth x58
? Power Supply- 550W don't know the brand.

The files per requested in the BSOD posting rules are included in the post as well.

I am thinking it may be the graphics driver as this is the second card I had to get from the manufacture, but I have now way of telling, because I do not know how to decipher these output files.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

A:power state failure

Hi

DRIVER_POWER STATE_FAILURE is a common BSOD and it is really hard to say what is causing it without collecting and analyzing some basic info about your system.

As this error is very common by faulty drivers please uninstall the following items from 'Control Panel" and update to the latest drivers available in Lenovo site.

    a ) Display
    b ) Chipset
    c ) LAN and WLAN
d ) Lenovo Energy management software
c ) Antivirus Software (Necessary as this can be caused by kernel mode  driver installed by AV programs ). Download latest setup from the respective  site.

Download the latest drivers and Antivirus setup to a local folder in your Laptop. Now uninstall in the following order - Energy management software,LAN, WLAN , display , chipset and then AV. If any of them asks for restarting please do so. Re install them in the reverse order. That is chipset first and energy management last. Install AV after drivers finishes.

Please post how your system works after updating those. If the issue still remains we need to analyze your crash dump files for further steps. Also you will be required to run some info gathering tools.

Based on the code in the blue screen. Could someone please guide me into what driver or component is causing this? Thank you for your time.

A:Power State Failure

Let's try this, 3 different requests here.

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html .

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When autoscan is done (screen comes up), click Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

pls help!!

A:Driver Power State Failure

I have seen a lot of similar "Power State" failures on computers using wireless when returning from sleep or idle.

Your minidumps, which are all the same as below, seems to confirm this >>

Debug session time: Wed Jun 17 14:49:34.117 2009 (GMT-7)

I would try updating the wireless drivers, if one is available, or get something from a different vendor.

A removal and reinstall alone may also just work.

Hey guys,

So I did try googling it however I can't seem to open the dump file.

I've installed the WinDbg etc from Microsoft Website however, says access is denied when trying to open within the program.

So what do I need to do?

Thanks!

A:BSOD Power State Failure

The BSOD is caused by LSI Adapter, SAS2 2008 Falcon (c:\windows\system32\drivers\lsi_sas2.sys). And the driver is very old, of 2009.

I am totally against using third party storport drivers, but disabling it may need a clean install. In that case, your first try should be updating it from Download Search.

Also, you need to uninstall Virtual CloneDrive.

Let us know the results.

Hi - my Lenovo G500s, which I bought in October, says DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE about once a week. It's on Windows 8.1. The laptop closes whatever I'm doing, gathers data, then restarts. I understand this is a serious error. What do I need to do to fix it?

Turning on the computer or after some time of use sometimes gives the BSOD power_driver_state_failure. after resetting it usually enters the windows. Could anyone help me with this problem?

Hi,

The camera driver (snp2uvc.sys) is blamed for this issue!

Look here & try the "Two" listed drivers: -

http://drp.su/drivers/notebooks/?v=A...Sn&id=242&l=en

USB 2.0 UVC 1.3M WebCam & USB2.0 1.3M UVC WebCam

So, give them a go & see what happens from there. OK?

hello everyone, my computer has been crashing every couple of days and i was wondering if anyone could help me out. I recently got a new computer and it has windows 7 home premium, intel i5 2500k processor, Amd 6670 graphics card and 8gbs of ram. when it crashes it says driver power state failure, i checked the event viewer and it says a Kernel power critical error occurred, not sure how to resolve the problem. Thanks everyone

How are you turning off the machine? Clicking the Orb and selecting Shut Down or pressing the power button?

See this Knowledge-Base article for possible causes: Windows Kernel event ID 41 error in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2: “The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first”

Hi everyone. This is my first post on the forum, so I really appreciate any help that anyone may be able to offer. I have been receiving a drive state power failure error since clean installing Windows 8 on my system. I suspect it may be a bad driver or something, but I am not sure. I already set my system to not hibernate or sleep and I tried updating my BIOS and removing a third-party Spyware protection program, but the error occurred again. I followed the instructions and have attached my memory dump information.

Thanks again for your help!

A:Drive Power State Failure.. not sure why!

The minidumps seem to be pointing at the file: pci.sys which is the NT Plug and Play PCI Enumerator:

Driver Reference Table - pci.sys

This file could be corrupt so make sure you download the latest manufacturers chipset motherboard drivers for Windows 8 64bit:

ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

Also make sure you have all the Windows 8 updates until you can no longer be updated.

I have also found two drivers that you might consider updating or un-installing/removing if un-needed:

HECIx64.sys - Intel Management Engine Interface: Driver Reference Table - HECIx64.sys
P17.sys - Creative SB Audigy LS: Driver Reference Table - P17.sys

-cheers

Hey all,

I just put Windows 8 Professional 32-Bit on my Gateway M100-E laptop. It seems to crash when it is restarted and it's power state has changed. As in from battery to power cord and vice-versa. The BSOD tells me the error is called a driver power state failure. This laptop is 100% stock with the latest Windows 8 updates. The antivirus I'm using is the included Windows Defender and Windows Firewall. Attached are my log files.

I had the same problem. Try uninstalling the "HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection" drivers. I did that and my HP is running more smoothly now, but it was easy getting rid of the old drivers. I had to manually copy the new "HP 3d Driveguard" drivers to replace the old Protectsmart drivers. Good luck.

i have a toshiba satellite u405d-s2874 and i was transferring files from one portable hard-drive to another and i got a blue screen with the driver power state failure on it. the laptop restarted and all and i thought that maybe it fixed itself or something like that so i contiinued doing what i was doing and now after a while the laptop goes to the blue screen with the power state failure. i searched for it on google and it lead me to a post on your site. i read it and its about the same problem cept for the power button on the harddrive thing. its happened about 3 times or so while i was trying to read the post and sign up for your site. please need some help...oh can you tell me if i made a good buy by buying a toshiba??

A:Driver Power State Failure

Have the same laptop and same problem. As far as I can tell it is due to a bad SD card reader driver. I downloaded the "Debugging Tools for Windows x64" from here and used it to load the memory dump file located in "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump". You can follow the description here on how to do this. The debugger identified the file "o2sdx64.sys" as the culprit so I went over to toshiba here and downloaded the latest SD reader driver. The old version of this file was identified by the device manager as 2.0.2.909 and after updating was 2.0.2.915.

I have not tested this for long but so far no BSOD. I did notice this error seemed to occur often when I was swapping files off the SD card I am hopful.

Hope this helps.

By the way I am running Vista x64

Hi All New to forum and relatively useless with computers beyond using simple programs Recently began experiencing extended shutdown and startup times started with - minutes and kept getting longer Was told that after a few years and two kids downloading everything they clicked on it was probably due to alot of extra junk running So I saved everything I needed and endevoured to reload the OS Vista Home Premium bit just pop in the disk and follow the instruction they said quot It's easy quot they said Everything seemed to progress nicely followed the prompts windows will restart several Failure State Driver Power times etc etc Runs for approx hours on the scrolling bar then get Driver Power State Failure Stop x F x x EE x EE xC Attempted restarts to safe mode or to command prompt are unsuccessful as it is disabled during windows reload I've read through several of the previous DPSF threads and everyone is asked for a quot minidump quot please don't ask unless you know a psychic that can commune with my laptop as it will not advanced to any state other than BSOD at this point

I think the general set of symptoms apply to my situation I haven't experienced a shut down while using my laptop but I've come home on occasion and it was shutdown though I'm fairly certain I left it on Additionally if I close the lid and allow the computer to go into 'sleep' mode it won't start back up instead it says that it ran into a problem and will gather some info and restart for me It also states Failure Power Driver State that I can look up quot POWER STATE DRIVER FAILURE quot to learn more about the problem which lead me here I think I've followed the instructions properly but if there is information you need from me that isn't provided please let me know Windows -bit came installed Purchased early December Intel i - U Ivy Bridge Intel HD Graphics NVIDIA GeForce M Factory power supply amp battery Lenovo Ideapad U Model Of note about this particular laptop I believe they were initially being sold with Windows so although this one arrived brand new not refurbished with Windows already installed from the factory I don't know that it wasn't sitting on a self in the warehouse with the previous version of Windows and then was upgraded before being shipped out I have no clue if that actually matters at all Lastly these laptops were infamous for wireless issues resulting in slow connections power signals and intermittent signal Power State Driver Failure lose From what I found online it was a hardware issue that Lenovo addressed prior to the manufacture date of my particular unit Again I don't know if that information can be of any use but I figure I should pass it along just in case Regards

A:Power State Driver Failure

Some more specifics...

Power supply is Lenovo, model ADP-65KH B, 20V output.

I also spent a bunch of time updating all the drivers, etc. that I could find...which didn't help. I didn't find any anti-virus software to remove, which I've seen in other threads can be problems.

Also, I forgot to attach the second report in my initial post so I've attached it here.

I have a user whose laptop has been acting up, crashing, freezing, etc. randomly, she was only using word.

Her BSOD happened after awaking from sleep. Error message was "driver power state failure" stop: 0x0000009f (or however many zeros!). She had to pull the battery to get the laptop to restart.

I've attached the SF zip file - any help appreciated!

Thanks

Whenever I go to hibernate my computer, or randomly when I leave for a period of time, I may come back to a BSOD and my computer fans running wildly. The BSOD lists something similar to Power State Failure. I've tried updating my drivers through device manager and have AMD catalyst checking for updates but I'm consistently getting "latest drivers installed."

A:BDOS Power State Failure

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup program/utility before you update another zip.

Hello,
I've been getting the BSOD for Windows 8 since I've downloaded it. I purchased the digital copy online from Microsoft, but don't have a CD to do a reinstall, and really would hope to avoid wiping all my files. Sometimes I go weeks without getting the error, but I want to fix it once and for all. It always happens upon my PC "reawakening". If you have your upgrade key you can enter it HERE and download the upgrade again. If I remeber correctly they Give the option[or did before] to put the software on a USB drive.

1st ... thanks for being there and your efforts.

This bug has been driving me mad now for some time and I am unable to clear it myself.

My system is a roll your own running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 from Day 1 (about 18 months ago) on an original Retail load. A complete hardware profile is included in the attachments (via Belarc Advisor). The C drive is a 128 GB Kingston SSD.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the back end of this problem as well as your diagnosis.

The two were Related to Rt630x64.sys 8101E/8168/8169 NDIS 6.30 64-bit Driver from Realtek. Yours is ~ 2 years old.

I would re-install the newest driver available. If you continue to crash I would remove AVG and use the built in defender.

If you are under warranty and continue to crash I would consider having them fix it.

The last two days my Acer Extensa 5420 Laptop will just go to a blue screen and it will state "Driver_Power_State_Failure" and begin dumping physical memory. Once it's done that, it will restart and it will take over 30 minutes sometimes to get Windows Vista to come back on. The green "loading" bar will come on, and then a black screen with no cursor or anything will stay on for all that time. Sometimes I have to restart it or do a hard shut down and start it for it to EVENTUALLY come back up.
I checked the updates, and everything except a Windows Live Essentials is already updated.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I run an online business, and if I don't have this computer, I have no income.

Thanks!!

Sounds like a hard drive issue - I would get into the system software (bios) and run a hard drive diagnostic. Othewise, you can run a chkdsk on the hard drive volumes.

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite S55-C5363 and I have been semi-frequently getting BSOD due to "Driver Power State Failure." This usually happens when I try to run software that is somewhat graphically intensive, such as solidworks or photoshop. In either case, they run for a period of time (sometimes long, sometimes short), and then I encounter the bluescreen. I believe my computer has a good enough specs to run this software. Either way, I don't think my computer should be crashing.
I have malwarebytes installed and am currently running a scan. I just installed bluescreenview. Let me know if I should download any software and attach any logs. Attached is a log from speccy.

It appears this is being caused by amd_sata.sys which is the AMD SATA Controller AHCI 1.2 Device Drive driver, although there is likely something else faulting that driver as well. Given there's only one dump there's not much I can say for sure.

AvgAsC64.sys - Wed Feb 07 07:47:34 2007 - This is a Windows system file AFAIK, however, yours is dated from 2007. I need to look into this.

guard64.sys - Wed May 30 07:55:28 2007 - I believe this belongs to AVG anti virus. Remove whatever AVG components you have installed on your system.

Removal tool - AVG | Download tools and utilities

SCDEmu.SYS - Tue Aug 07 11:19:48 2007 - PowerISO Virtual Drive driver. Remove and replace PowerISO with another imaging software that is NOT Daemon Tools.

I have been receiving BSOD's when trying to shut down / restart my notebook since yesterday.

POWER STATE FAILURE

It gave me that error in the BSOD. I have tried updating my drivers ( graphic card drivers weren't signed ) but that didn't help.

I have included the minidump in this post.

Thank you.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, 3 month old build and installation. i7 cpu 960 @ 3.2 ghz. EVGA GeForce GTX 460 gpu. ASUS Sabertooth x58 motherboard. Antec PSU 750w.

I originally had two ram chips installed, 4gb each from the same package but the other chip was giving me issues, which I thought was originally the cause of the problem. After having ran memtest for 10+ hours per chip, the current chip ran over 14 cycles with no errors, and the second chip gave an illegible screen. So that's being RMA'd, however the powerstate failures persist. At least as far as I understand the current chip isn't faulty.

A:power state failure, getting frequent

Did a drive verification god knows what stupid reason, which ended up in an obvious bsod. MDPMGNT.SYS, something about memory. Followed the directions about restoring to a previous point. That failed. I don't see what the drive verifier did, as cmd prompt query shows it didn't run. The memory dump for the bsod doesn't exist anywhere, maybe because of the restore, maybe something else. But now my I have a partially restored system, and bitdefender apparently no longer protecting my system. So that's nice.

Hello,

Every since I had Telus Internet installed, my computer keeps giving me a BSOD when it goes to sleep. It's a Driver_Power_State_Failure ... 0x0000009F.

I don't get this with Shaw internet, only with Telus (I also have Optik TV on the same network). I still have both providers, and the computer is stable with shaw, but not with Telus.

I can eliminate the error by switching the Power Options so the hard drives "Never" turn off ... but I'm not sure what affect this has on the computer.

Please help, I don't understand mini-dumps and I've spent about 10 hrs on the phone.

My computer was orginally Vista, but my Hard drive crashed so I installed the full version of Windows 7 on the computer. Its 32 bit, on a 2-3 year old computer (Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9450).

I appreciate the help!

Hi, Curtis. Sorry you are having problems. Your dumps are blaming e1e6232.sys, which is a LAN driver (network adapter) for the crashes. This driver is up to date and something else may be interfering with it.

Many times this kind of error is caused by a third party antivirus or third party firewall. I recommend that you uninstall Vipre antivirus. Many third party antivirus programs cause BSOD's on some Win Win 7 systems. Download, install and use Revo Uninstaller (free) to remove Vipre. Once your system is stable, you can try Vipre again; but I do not recommend doing so. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place.

Outdated drivers can and do cause BSOD's. I find the following outdated drivers on your system. Both are way obsole... Read more

Hi -

Run Driver Verifier - Driver Verifier - Windows 7 & Vista (BSOD-related)

Driver Verifier needs to run 24 hours minimum or until it BSODs your system, whichever is less. Then . . .
