I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Ran Prime95 again, stopped before anything happened, got the following right off the bat:

Test 1, 6500 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M12451841 using Pentium4 type-2 FFT length 640K, Pass1=640, Pass2=1K

Worker 1, 3 and 4 stopped right away, all giving this error:
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4

Hello.

I encountered several BSODs within days of each other. I don't play games or download anything on my PC. I just use it for surfing the net and general usage (mostly Office). I also technically faced a blue screen just 2 days ago. I clicked on a folder and suddenly my monitor flickered and I saw a flash of blue before it went black.

I am using Windows 7 32 bit.

I am not very tech savvy so I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Attached are the minidump files.

Thank you very much.

As we can see a memory volume is corrupt somewhere, so lets see if we can track it down.

Can you try this please: Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition.

Hello everybody, since 2 weeks my notebook is having some Bsod.
In order

BAD_POOL_HEADER
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION
DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION

the last two after i used verifier

These errors have been happening at any random time, browsing the internet, working on matlab, working on xampp and Wordpress.
I was thinking at beginning it was some virus, then i formatted and reinstall all, but after 2 days it restarted to have Bsod.

Could be some windows 7 update ??

I've also tried Memtest 86+, sfc /scannow. and there were no problems

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I've got a custom built PC and since I built it's occasionally BSODed but I never got around to fixing it, and they usually happen about once a month so they weren't too annoying.
I've had 6 since Wednesday so something is definitely wrong, it also happens completely randomly, I've left it on desktop for like 5 minutes twice and BSODed both times.

The BDODs appear to be of multiple types.

I've been having BSOD trouble over the past four or five months now The BSODs typically happen once a week sometimes twice with small strings of daily crashes here and there I'm at my wit's end when it comes to trying to figure out where the problem lies All of my parts are under warranty so I'm desperate to find out which one if any are at fault I've tested my hardware extensively Memtest for passes on multiple occasions using different stick and slot combinations Ran torture tests using Prime for the processor All hard drive checks come back without problems Ran Furmark on my video card with no artifacts The BSODs happen most commonly when using video playlists for both Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic multiple types of files They also sometimes occur when playing 0x0A) BSODs, 0x3B, Bugchecks Multiple 0x50, (0xD1, Multiple particular games Borderlands II Dark Souls Installing a fresh copy of Windows did not remove BSODs even after running it in factory settings with no additional installations I have attached a dump file and Multiple BSODs, Multiple Bugchecks (0xD1, 0x3B, 0x50, 0x0A) I thank whoever attempts to assist me

Hi anthonylert.

The versatility of the bugchecks are the indication of failing memory prima facie, but as you said you ran Memtest86, can you run the memtest86+?

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Also, disable bluetooth,at least as a test. The Atheros bluetooth module is appearing to be failing.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Let us know the results.

Hey there So just to start things off I'm and don't really have much technical knowledge when it comes to computer hardware and errors etc I started getting BSODs a while back but they weren't very frequent so I uninstalled all the programmes I had on my laptop and it stopped for the most part so I assumed that was the problem As time went on up until now Multiple Random Occurences, Multiple Codes BSODs, Error they have been getting much more frequent with the error message at the top stating Multiple BSODs, Random Occurences, Multiple Error Codes something different each time getting what seemed more serious Sometimes when I get BSOD Multiple BSODs, Random Occurences, Multiple Error Codes it would BSOD again on Startup then again after that which is rather frustrating haha I was reluctant to posting on forums but it's come to the point of either fixing it logically or ending up punching the screen xD I can't really define when it happens as it's more often some times than others I have a hinch it has something to do with my graphics card though as I would be playing a game then I'd open up a new tab and watch a video then get BSOD at some point However it happens less frequently for the most part when idle or with minimum programmes running The programmes I mainly use on the laptop is Google Chrome Skype Sony Vegas Pro Video Editing Software Total Media Extreme Personal Video Recording Software I can't remember any of the actual error codes but some of the display messages i can remember are PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGE AREA Attempt to Execute to Non-Executable Memory something to do with potential malicious user attack The newest one I got which was today mentioned something about a Faulty Driver and a Kernal Stack but on my device manager no driver updates were found during the scan My friend suggested this forum and tried to guide me through it so yeah Any help is much appreciated for the good of my Laptop xD P S I attached the Zip file P S S My Base Score is in the Windows Experience thing which is for my Gaming Graphics

Combining your crash dumps and the general view of BSODs culprits, I'd suggest you to have a look at your memory, the sticks. Through decades people have been using the bootable tool called Memtest86+ and it's basically very unique in these manners.
Be sure to check your warranty rules and regulations before opening your case.

Hey really lost on this one as I have not really dealt with BSODS before. I build my computer a couple months ago. Recently while gaming I have had roughly 5 BSODS. They are all for different things it seems like and I have no clue how to fix it. It wont do it while sitting on the computer on firefox or just the desktop but usually an hour into gaming I will start to get them. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my computer did not do this when I first built it! Thank you! I attached my file from your guys tool that you requested. Also I dont know if it makes a difference or not but when the computer crashes, all of my desktop shortcuts will be in random places not where I originally placed them.

I recommend to reinstall/update every driver from Gigabyte and remove the Gigabyte software.
The Gigabyte software is known for causing bluescreens.
For reinstalling the GPU drivers, please follow instructions below
Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Gigabyte. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

We have four computers, all Win7, connected to our home network, with an HSHomerun TV tuner.
On only one computer, the Media Center recordings are stopped after 9 to 19 minutes.
This has only been happening for about two weeks -- before that, recording on this computer was fine.
These are scheduled recordings, either via "Guide" or by "Channel and Time" scheduling, even in the middle of the night, when none of the other computers are on, so I see no way that it could be a tuner problem, but I could be wrong.
The recording starts out fine, then just stops after a few minutes.
The scheduled time can be from half an hour to three hours -- still only a few minutes are recorded.
I removed the Media Center, via Control Panel, and added it back, with no change.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi,

my internet keeps slowing down or cutting out regularly. its not noticeable whilst browsing the internet or talking over msn etc, but when playing online games or talking with voip the connection stops for around 2-5 seconds and then works again, and it happens about once every 30 seconds. using teamspeak it tells me i have 12% packetloss, which i suppose gives an idea of the problem. connection signal is almost on full aswell.

Im using a wireless BT Homehub with a belkin wireless G receiver which was 20.

Ive only just bought the belkin receiver so i can take it back and get a different one if necessary.

also, hardwiring my internet to the router isnt really an option because of a large distance between me and the router.

i dont know if this is an internet problem or a problem with the network,

any ideas would be appreciated

thanks, ollie.

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.

My computer goes to sleep in just a short time after using. If a longer time it has to be restarted. Would appreciate some help if any one knows the problem. I use IE and Vista.

A:computer goes to sleep short time after use

Have you checked the Power settings?
Right click the Desktop
Personalize > Screen Saver > Change power settings link
This will show you when the monitor and or hard drive is set to go to sleep. If you want to extend the time frame or disable the sleep option entirely, you can reconfigure it there.

Do you have Service Pack one for Windows Vista installed?
Let us know what you find.

A:Wake On Wan (WAN) only works for a short time.

With my lack of knowledge on this subject the only possible help I can offer is the following clarifying question.

Does WOL also fail after the computer is off for an hour? If it does work then the problem seems to be lodged in the router, not the computer.

My laptop is shutting down after a short period of time.  This started about two months after installing windows 10.   I checked my settings and they are what I want so resetting them probably won't help.  I saw an answer to this problem that read as follows:   What does "remove the tick from the box next to 'On resume, display log-on screen'." mean?   I don't see a box next to 'On resume, display log-on screen' with a tick. Open windows Control Panel, open Personalization, click the Screen Saver link in the bottom right and in the following window adjust the 'Wait' time to a more acceptable figure and remove the tick from the box next to 'On resume, display log-on screen'.  Click Apply, then Ok to save this setting.

Basically, I want the long time to be in 24-hour format, and the short time to be in the 12-hour format. Is there any way to do that? Whenever I try to, it just changes them both to 24-hour format.

Hi,

In the last week or so, my computer has lost the ability to shutdown normally.
After that, nothing will open (command prompt, task manager, etc..) but the computer is not frozen. Now, when I turn the computer on, it seems like after 10 or 15 minutes, the same thing happens.

I have used Avast! antivirus software and it found [email protected] (was marked as a rootkit) and win32:dowloader-HQR (trojan).

However, after have quarantined these problems, the computer has not been fixed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

When I power on the computer I get 3 long beeps then 4 short beeps.  this happens for 5 times then the computer starts.  I have removed everything except the power supply and I have done a restore.Nothing has helped.  What are my next steps.  I purchased this as an open box this week so I can take it back but I would prefer to fix it. Thank you,Hank

A:3 long beeps 4 short, 5 time, then boots

@aumurph? Commentary You may want to take back the computer while you can do so. Open boxes can contain just about anything -- depending on the vendor, the contents may not have had any checks since the box was returned (or opened in the store without having been purchased).  Parts may have been switched out, the computer Operating System may not be "in new" condition, components may be missing or faulty. HP Desktop PCs - Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep CodeRead and see Section:Beep and LED code descriptions Sometimes an 'open box' discount can come back and bite you.  (Personal observation.) If the computer is for sale at HP.com, know that HP provides competitive prices, no "open boxes", and guarantees the purchase. When you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Fixed / Answered? Is there a way to cut the "time" function from the "Short Date" format? When I set up a table export the 00:00:00 keeps showing up next to the dates. I can move the column demarcation lines (fixed width markers) to drop the zeros but get the "export errors" message.

I have a toshiba satellite a -s laptop running windows xp I bought it in May A while ago I bent a pin of my cpu when I tried to clean the laptop from dust Eventually after freezes up start Laptop time every short after about month later I replaced the cpu with the same one It seemed to work but kept freezing min after startup I completely reinstalled the system Still the same problem I reinstalled about three times until it somehow worked I think one thing I tried was to update the bios I used it every day for about three weeks and everything was fine One time I unplugged it from the power supply and let it run on batteries Almost right away it froze again I plugged it back in and it worked fine again Later on I didn t use it for about a week After that it always froze again every time plugged in or not It works in safemode but even Laptop freezes every time short after start up if I disable everything and start up again it won t Laptop freezes every time short after start up work Somehow my guess is that it has to do with either the cmos battery and the bios or it might be a heat problem with the new cpu Any idea nbsp

I'll cut to the chase - my computer is crashing, a lot. It seems to do it mostly when I am either 1) allowing it to idle and do nothing for more than a few seconds, or 2) performing medial tasks like writing in Word or something like that.

All of my info is attached in a zipped file.

I'm specifically focused on the three most recent crashes (Codes 3b, 24, and 1e) . There should be a lot more in there because my system seems to bug-check if I leave it idle for more than 20-30 seconds, but my computer wasn't creating .dmp files until I ran chkdsk with both options selected.

Let me know if you need any further info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to this forum- thanks to all who provide assistance.

I have a 6 computer network- All XP Pro except one Win 98 holdout. Linksys G broadband router, all wired LAN except laptop- wireless.

Just purchased new Dell Vostro (XP Pro) desktop, wired. used HP Install Network Printer Wizard to connect to HP LaserJet 4050TN. Been using this forever with all computers, never any problems.

Now, only with new Dell box, suddenly cannot print. Can see the printer listed, but will not print. Can print from any other computer on network. Have to run install wizard every 2-3 hours. I wind up with multiple copies of the printer installed.

Any ideas?

Thanks
sirhenry

A:HP network printer drops after short time

How is the laserjet connected to the PCs. Is it connected through USB or Ethernet?
And do the other pinters print to it by IP or hostname, or is it shared of one of the PCs.

Recently, Windows XP has been pausing recently. Everything freezes up, and then everything will work fine 10 minutes later. I check through the task manager, and my CPU level never rises above normal during this. If anyone could help, it'd be great.

I'm running SP3, and am checking for viruses now.

A:Windows Xp pauses for short periods of time

I think your starting in the right place checking for malware. It could be a ton of other issues software wise. One thing I would certainly check is the hard drive to be sure it's in good working order. A chkdsk /r may solve the issue.

Hi,

I bought the Portege Z30-A-1e1 in December but the performances of the battery seem to be reduced in just two months. Indeed, now in saving mode the battery life is around 4h compared to 6h of one month ago (toshiba says up to 10h, but 4h in saving mode seem to be less than the half). Furthermore, the battery drains very quickly when it gets to the value of 20%.

There is some problem?I have to change the battery in warranty?

Francesco

A:Re: Short battery running time on Portege Z30-A-1E1

I cannot say for sure if your battery malfunctions or not because fact is that battery working time depends always on notebook usage.
The Windows power option settings (CPU / GPU performance, display brightness level, HDD /SSD usage, etc?) as well as the applications running and using would affect the battery working time.

I guess the 10 hours working time is the max possible value which can be reached using the max power saving features.
This means that in most cases the battery working times would be lower.

However, you should also know that the battery should be calibrated from time to time to keep the battery in good conditions.
The battery should be charged and fully discharged several times in the row.

If you did not do that in the past, try it out.

Have you tested the hdd? I'd run the hdd manufacturers diagnostic tool on the drive to make sure it's healthy.Having said that it could be a software problem, has this started after installing something new?The next time it freezes have a look here:StartControl PanelPerformance and MaintenaceAdmin ToolsEvent ViewerSystemHighlight a error then click properties, then click on the link below For more information, see Help and Support Center as this may give you information on how to solve the error.

Hi all I've recently gotten a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD short time login after new Acer - laptop A couple days after starting to use it MEMORY MANAGEMENT BSOD problems have arisen occuring briefly after I log in Here are my specs Windows Home Premium -bit Intel Core i - M GB DDR memory sorry don't know the brand since I'm MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD short time after login just looking MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD short time after login at the box GB HDD I hadn't done much before the blue screens started coming up The first thing I did was uninstall the trial version of McAfee that came pre-loaded because I figured it would be better to use a free full version antivirus software So after that I installed Avast Nothing bad happened then--Avast seemed to work completely fine scanning for viruses and updating itself I also installed Microsoft Office the Google Chrome browser Spotify and some games like Skyrim I don't believe that Skyrim caused problems because it worked But then on the third day I started getting BSODs right after logging in the majority of which were MEMORY MANAGEMENT I also got Page fault in invalid page once I recovered the computer using the Acer recovery DVDs I originally made After that the blue screens were gone so I thought Never suspecting Avast to be faulty I immediately did the same routine uninstalling McAfee and then installing Avast Later when browsing the web the MEMORY MANAGEMENT blue screens came back up and haven't gone away since I can use safe mode pretty reliably but when using Windows normally the BSODS come up anywhere from immediately after logging in or a few minutes later By the way I also tweaked my virtual memory page file size in safe mode increasing it to MB i believe since that was the recommended amount Sorry for this long-winded account but could someone please give me some guidance It's a brand new computer and these issues are quite saddening The dumpfiles ZIP is attached Thanks

A:MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD short time after login

OK, first uninstall Avast and replace it with MSE: Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

next do you use any CD virtualization programs like Poweriso ???

also make sure you have the lasted drivers installed !!

A:Laptop freezes after a short period of time

That model has been out for about three years? How long have you had your Inspiron 6400?

We need to know the configuration, including hard drive size, brand, free space, as well as memory installed.

It could be that the CPU cooling is too full of dust, hair, fiber, etc. to cool adequately... or that the hard drive is failing, or that you have inadequate memory. But it could simply be an infestation that needs to be cleaned out.

Have you tried re-enabling Windows Installer? Have you attempted to use MalwareBytes, SuperAntispyware, ComboFix, Windows Defender, Spy Sweeper, Spyware Doctor, or other top-flite spyware detectors and removers?

My NEXTBOOK tablet battery charge is getting shorter and shorter. Am I doing something wrong?
It has: operating system Windows 2000
Also built in operating system: Android OS 4.2
DDR: 1GB
Display: 7.85-inch TFT LCD
It takes 2 hrs. to charge, then indicates it is charged, but 15-20 min. of operation and then shuts down so I can't finish a poker game.
Please help!

A:tablet battery lasts ONLY short time

Welcome to TSG!

How old is it?
Batteries do die like this, my laptop went from 1.5 hours to maybe 20 min now.

Or it could be like my android phone, open many apps and think they are closed but they are not. I noticed my stand by time was getting shorter and shorter. Turned off the phone and restarted it, all those apps finally closed and my time is back up.

May need to take a look at apps and data usage, close or restrict some or ones you don't use often.
You may have too many background apps still running.

Hi I'm not very technical so please speak plainly!!

To illustrate this point I realised I'd uploaded and incomplete zip file so here's another one!

My error messages following a re-start are:

C:windows\minidump\101913-26769-01.dmp and
C:users\alanaappdata\local\temp\wbr-873667-0.sysdata.xml

A:Frequent crashes a short time after start up

The data reports are incomplete.
Please rerun the data collection program and let it run for at least 15 minutes (or until the program itself tells you it's done)
Then zip it up and upload it. I'm looking for the MSINFO32.nfo and the systeminfo.txt reports in particular.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run these free hardware diagnostics (this is most likely a hardware problem): Hardware Diagnostics. Let us know the results and we can move on from there.

A:Computer Freezing for a short time (Hardware Fault)

Identical problem here.. hard drive light goes solid and pc just stops for 1 min, still able to move the mouse cursor but cannot slect anything or alt-tab etc. Any alt tab or double clicking is cached up and then all fired off at once when the minute freeze is up.

I'm pretty certain now it's down to my Asus P5K-E motherboard (which is what I assume the original poster has)

I'm looking towards M/Board now as I have swapped drives and changed CPU from Q6600 to Q8200 also switched from Vista 32bit to Win7 64bit and still get the issue.

I alleviated it for a while by switching my SATA 300 drive down to 150 mode by setting the jumpers.

Have flashed the P5K to the latest bios with no joy.

Full specs are..
Q8200 Quad
Asus P5K-E Wifi Premium
500GB Samsung SATA300
4GB Ram
lightscribe 20x DVDRW
Sony Bluray Drive (installed after problem had already appeared)
2 x ATI HD3870's in crossfire config.

I've recently installed a dual boot, Windows 7 and Windows 8. The installation went fine but then after a very short time my Windows 8 Screen goes black. I had to press the power button to exit. When again rebooting into Windows 8 the "blue window" shows and the spinner goes around for about 20 seconds, then all goes black.

I've checked the Power settings and ensured the "Turn off display" was "never". I also updated my Video drivers thinking that might be the problem. Both to no avail. I've done a "Refresh" and a "Reset (which took 3 hrs). Again, all was fine for a short time, but while exploring the OS, again the black screen. Would anyone know what else I could try to fix this Windows 8 problem. Thanks so much.

A:Dual Boot Win7/8 - Win 8 goes black after a short time

perform all windows updates

reboot when asked

do more updates..

If still black screen, uninstall video drivers and let windows install generic drivers for now, see if that resolves your issue..

Hi using this computer is my only way of resolving an issue Solved: after short and time Prof runs freezes XP with my other main computer This one cookiegal kindly helped resolve another issue - this is slow takes forever and a day to load and run big programs its used by everyone in the houshold and is reasonably reliable The problem is my other PC it has an AMD x chip and GB Solved: XP Prof runs and freezes after short time ram maxed out runs xp prof and for the last months has not connected to the internet its used for running cad and work related programs and some graphic intensive games for my personnel use Recently other than loading a sub game I installed MS office and have been trying out the access to create a database Solved: XP Prof runs and freezes after short time for work but this week when the access was added the computer need to update the office program after the downloads Solved: XP Prof runs and freezes after short time the computer appeared to hang up - theres an indicator light on the front of the desktop that goes out at the same time as it hangs up - disk activity The windows update has only one more to update to KB cumalitive security blahd d blah - all the others have eventually loaded I tried to system restore up to a month ago each attempt comes back that the restore has not been implimented now the computer only gets to maybe allowing the computer to highlight one of the system tray icons or bringing up the task manager for a brief moment before the computer hangs up and the only thing that it does is allow the cursor to move around- sometimes prior to the major problems listed above the McAfee noted systemguard changes - is this relavent No matter how long or many times I press F etc no safe mode option comes up I am seriously miffed with this event I already have issues with recent updates at work on vista machines and the thoughts are that older MS o s s are being systematically slowed down by MS to get people to buy their new o s - under the pretext of security issues - yea - like their programs are lemons and if they need to have so many fixes why has someone not sued them for selling a product not fit for purpose Sorry should leave the rant for another time it s only since updating recently has the PC had a problem in another recent thread there was mention of something interfereing with the recent updates related to SP - I would have assumed that the McAfee would have flagged that up or is the systemguard flag relevent Thanking you in advance for anything you can suggest to get the PC up and running phil nbsp

I am using, Wintows 7, Firefox 8, and AVG 2012 Anti virus.
When I try to download a program to BBC iPlayer, I only get the option to download to WMP, but if I reload Adobe Flash player, I can then download to iPlayer desktop. I get the program, then after a short time everthing reverts back to only being able to get WMP.
I also have found this effects You tube. This only works for a short time, after installing a fresh copy of Flash Player..
This is really confusing me, and I have lost count of the re-installations of Adobe Flash Player..
Please help.

A:Metro IExplorer slow and crashes after short time

I could solve it by creating a new Windows user profile, unlinking MS account, copying documents over, deleting my old one. I dont know why it solved it. I guess the "IE profile reset" features doesnt really reset everything, and the IE profile somehow was messed up. Someone have an idea how, or how I could prevent this in the future? Because like I mentioned in my first post, it happened before a few times. I am not using any tools like CClearner or something, I didnt have any addons installed.

I may have found another clue. There seems to be a conflict between Yahoo chat and Yahoo Messenger I was able to get video to stream one time on my sons comp with the cheapo webcam. It was right after going to his email account, fiddling with the yahoo chat, closing something out, and then I tried to repeat the sequence and am doing something wrong. uugh

Hello Nissan & welcome.

Analyses
Most of your dumps are including your Graphic Driver. So to really make a secure uninstall and get rid of the leftover files of the uninstallation from the Control Panel, we'll use some specific tools. The little guide below tells you what to do to uninstall and install your Nvidia-driver.

Tutorial

i) Find your driver here, save it to your desktop
ii) Download Driver sweeper, for the leftover files
iii) Uninstall your driver from the Control Panel
iv) While rebooting, go into safe-mode without internet (tip: plugout your LAN cable or disconnect wireless)
v) Run Driver Sweeper, click all the Nvidia components and analyse them
vi) Clean them all
vii) Head into Windows, without internet
viii) Install the Driver from the desktop

Ever since that last cumulative update for win10 in the past 2 weeks ive experienced constant BSODS. Constant system hangups. Literally I was sitting here with nothing actively running except google chrome and trying to post this thread and my entire system locked up, screen and all. I wasn't able to do anything except hard restart. This happens 3-4 times every hour.

Hi All,

my 2 yr old U920t laptop/tablet satellite ultrabook has poor battery life. The battery will only last a maximum of 2 hrs before requiring recharging under normal word doc/excel data entry.

Any ideas on how i can improve it?

The Toshiba pc health monitor function continually informs me that I need to replace the battery due to normal wear and tear but I thought the battery being an 'internal' item means it cant be replaced?

If anyone can offer some advice that would be great!

A:Satellite U920T - short battery working time after 2 years of usage

Hi

In my opinion there is no some kind of ?rule? or ?norm? about battery life in general. On some machines battery hold capacity for longer period of time comparing it with other notebook models.
Fact is that over time battery will lose the capacity and result will be shorter working hours.

You can try to increase working hours changing some power options and shutting off some useless background processes.
Many newer notebook models have newer design where battery cannot be removed so simply and it is placed under the bottom cover but it can be replaced too. One day when you need new one contact nearest Toshiba service provider and they can replace it for you.

Hey,
Recently i've been getting very random BSODs and i'm not too sure why. I've tried to do my own research into it, but alas, I have failed to find a solution to this problem.
Here are all of my details:

· x64
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 10
· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? full retail
· Age of system (hardware) 1 month 6 days
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? 1 month 6 days
· CPU - Intel i5-6600k @ 3.50ghz (no OC)
· Video Card - N/A for the moment (Intel HD 530 iGPU)
· MotherBoard - ASRock Z170A-X1/3.1
· Power Supply - Silverstone ST70F-ESB
· System Manufacturer - Doesn't apply (Custom Built)
· Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom) - Doesn't apply (Custom Built)

When viewing videos ie: Youtube or ? the video will run for a few minutes and then a rotating blue circle
continues for about 5-10 minutes, then the video continues again for another few minutes and does the
entire process over again with the rotating blue circles.

I read one fix on Google but it didn't fix it, that was to run the Java Plugin, select Java, increase the buffers to the maximum, click Apply, OK then press F5 to restart the browser.

I would appreciate your help,

Aaron

A:Solved: Running videos: Plays for a short time then blue circles for 10 Minutes

What you are describing sounds like buffering. The video plays until the video buffer is empty, the video pauses until the buffer refills, and then playback continues.

This is typically the result of a slow internet connection and typically most obvious when trying to watch high resolution (ie: HD) content.

I have a very similar problem to this person, (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic160500.html) except I am running Windows XP home edition.
I downloaded a file I presumed would be safe, scanned it with Mcafee before opening it and unwittingly installed Total Secure 2009.
My computer then froze up so I had to restart. On restart, I managed to scan using Mcafee and Ad-aware, Mcafee found RemAdm-Generic (C:\windows\system32\LMInit.dll), Ad-aware found a few PuP's I removed.
I then restarted again, and a new account had been created "Admin" and I couldn't open the task manager on other accounts.
I tried to run MBAM, but after 3-4ish minutes the computer logged me out, then froze on the login screen.
Anyone help out? I don't like having to restart every 3-4 minutes

Hi,

Over the past couple of months, I've been getting random differing BSODs. This is a clean install of Windows 7 onto a home-built machine. Most BSODs are occurring when no-one is using the machine.

Computer Specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 GHz, 1333MHz FSB, Socket 775
Gigabyte GV-N96TSL-1GI Video Card, GeForce 9600 GT

Asus P5Q PRO Motherboard
Gigabyte Poseidon 310 ATX Mid Tower Case
Vantec ION2 500W PSU
Leadtek WinFast PxDTV2300 H TV Tuner
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound card

Would really appreciate any help sorting this out as I'm just about to throw this thing out the window.

Hi.

You are getting multiple 0x3b errors and also this specific 0x19 pointing at AVG -

What you want to do is completely uninstall that AVG. A good replacement for it is MSE.

You NVIDIA video driver is a few months old so I'd recommend stopping by NVIDIA.com to download and install the latest driver:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Your audio and lan drivers are rather old so please stop by your motherboard's website to download and install the latest drivers:

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...specifications

After doing these things, please let us know how it goes. Please post a new bsod crash dump if necessary. Good luck!

For about a week now since i got my new laptop and loaded my stuff unto it I have been experiencing a lot of Bluescreens with different error messages. Now its gotten to the point where the laptop bluescreens but no minidump files are created. Some times the screen goes blank, the fan runs for a while and the laptop reboot without me initiating the reboot. I would be very grateful if  you could help solve this problem. Its just frustrating. The minidumps posted were created before the system creating anymore minidumps.

Hello for the last few weeks BSODs Multiple I have been having a Multiple BSODs ton of bluescreens all ranging from irql is less or equal to cdd dll The most annoying is that there is no specific thing that triggers them From what I can read from the event viewer Whish is not so much I can't get what it is that is causing it except that Multiple BSODs it is an Kernel-Power error Sometimes the BSOD will come as I surf at the internet sometimes the computer even freezes when loading the BIOS sometimes it can even freeze while in BIOS and sometimes I can sit and play computer games and Multiple BSODs watch videos for hours and hours I have tried to run multiple malware programs such as Ad-Aware Spybot and AVG all of them comes out clean except perhaps a few cookies Everytime I uppdate a driver I uninstal the previous one restart the computer and install the new one I dont know if that is neccessary but I think I remember that it is smart to do I try to run Defrag atleast once per week and I clean the registery with ccleaner from time to time Still I can not seem to find out what is causing the problem Sometimes opening spotify and listeing to music can kill the PC sometimes I can play Starcraft II or some steam game for hours and hours and nothing will happen I have tried mem on both of my Ram-chips and I have tried the windows standard test Both came out clean I have also run a video-stress-test which also passed My system-speccs are OS Microsoft Windows Ultimate bit CPU AMD Phenom tm II X Processor Model Stepping Processor Count RAM Mb Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD Mb HD WD gb Motherboard ASUSTeK M N PRO I have a friend who is somewhat good at computers but he could not make out what the problem was so my minidumps will only go to the rd after that he changed the setting to be Full Memory Dumps and they are apparantly very large so I dont know what you want me to do with them Minidumps are attached and there are like of them perhaps you can make out what I should do replace PS CPU Graphic Card MB PSU and Ram are less than months old Thank you in advance

The most annoying is that there is no specific thing that triggers them. From what I can read from the event viewer (Whish is not so much) I can't get what it is that is causing it, except that it is an Kernel-Power error.

Sometimes the BSOD will come as I surf at the internet, sometimes the computer even freezes when loading the BIOS, sometimes it can even freeze while in BIOS, and sometimes I can sit and play computer games and watch videos for hours and hours.

I have tried to run multiple malware programs such as Ad-Aware, Spybot and AVG, all of them comes out clean ( except perhaps a few cookies ). Everytime I uppdate a driver I uninstal the previous one, restart the computer and install the new one. I dont know if that is neccessary but I think I remember that it is smart to do. I try to run Defrag atleast once per week, and I clean the registery with ccleaner from time to time.

Still, I can not seem to find out what is causing the problem. Sometimes opening spotify and listeing to music can kill the PC; sometimes I can play Starcraft II or some steam game for hours and hours and nothing will happen. I have tried mem86 on both of my Ram-chips, and I have tried the windows standard test. Both came out clean. I have also run a video-stress-test which also passed.

My system-speccs are
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate , 64 bit
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor, Model 4 Stepping 3
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 4095 Mb
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4870 , 1024 Mb
HD: WD 250gb
Motherboard: ASUSTeK M4N78 PRO

I have a friend who is somewhat good at computers but he could not make out what the problem was, so my minidumps will only go to the 3rd., after that he changed the setting to be Full Memory Dumps, and they are apparantly very large so I dont know what you want me to do with them

Minidumps are attached, and there are like 15 of them, perhaps you can make out what I should do / replace.

PS: CPU, Graphic Card, MB, PSU and Ram are less than 6 months old.

Thank you in advance!

Full memory DMPas can be uploaded to a file share service like rapidshare.

The cause of most if not all of these is memory management

You need to run a thorough memory test for 7-8 passes (overnight at least)

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.
Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

There are also a few old drivers that should be updated.

Windows' memtest and got a BSOD while running the test which again makes me think memory but Best Buy swears that's not it Here are the minidumps also attached Dump File - - dmp Crash Time PM Bug Check String SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION Bug Check Code x b Parameter c Parameter fffff cafef Parameter fffff c d Parameter Caused By Driver ntoskrnl exe Caused By Address ntoskrnl exe c File Description NT Kernel amp System Product Name Microsoft Windows Operating System Company Microsoft Corporation File Version win sp gdr - Processor x Crash Address ntoskrnl exe c Stack Address Stack Address Stack Address Full Path C Windows Minidump - - dmp Processors Count Major Version Minor Version Dump File Size Dump File Time PM Dump File - - dmp Crash Time PM Bug Check String DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL Bug Check Code x d Parameter a ed Parameter a Parameter Parameter fffff e a Caused By Driver dxgmms sys Caused By Address dxgmms sys a File Description Product Name Company File Version Processor x Crash Address ntoskrnl exe c Stack Address Stack Address Stack Address Full Path C Windows Minidump - - dmp Processors Count Major Version Minor Version Dump File Size Dump File Time PM Dump File - - dmp Crash Time PM Bug Check String SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION Bug Check Code x b Parameter c Parameter fffff d a Parameter fffff c af Parameter Caused By Driver fltmgr sys Caused By Address fltmgr sys a File Description Product Name Company File Version Processor x Crash Address ntoskrnl exe c Stack Address Stack Address Stack Address Full Path C Windows Minidump - - dmp Processors Count Major Version Minor Version Dump File Size Dump File Time PM Dump File - - dmp Crash Time PM Bug Check String MEMORY MANAGEMENT Bug Check Code x a Parameter Parameter Parameter Parameter Caused By Driver win k sys Caused By Address win k sys b ef File Description Product Name Company File Version Processor x Crash Address ntoskrnl exe c Stack Address Stack Address Stack Address Full Path C Windows Minidump - - dmp Processors Count Major Version Minor Version Dump File Size Dump File Time PM Dump File - - dmp Crash Time PM Bug Check String RESOURCE NOT OWNED Bug Check Code x e Parameter fffffa b Parameter fffffa Parameter fffffa cb Parameter Caused By Driver Ntfs sys Caused By Address Ntfs sys a b File Description Product Name Company File Version Processor x Crash Address ntoskrnl exe c Stack Address Stack Address Stack Address Full Path C Windows Minidump - - dmp Processors Count Major Version Minor Version Dump File Size Dump File Time PM Dump File - - dmp Crash Time PM Bug Check String BAD POOL HEADER Bug Check Code x Parameter Parameter fffffa Parameter fffffa Parameter Caused By Driver ntoskrnl exe Caused By Address ntoskrnl exe c File Description NT Kernel amp System Product Name Microsoft Windows Operating System Company Microsoft Corporation File Version win sp gdr - Processor... A:Multiple BSODs, help please?

Hi

to the Bleeping Computer.

We need to collect some basic info to analyze and find the reason behind the crashes. So please follow the below steps.

Upload the crash dumps for analysis

Open C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Copy and  zip the entire contents of that folder and upload to any free file hosting site of your choice. You may have to disable User Account Control to copy them.

Example file hosting sites :

https://www.box.com/

http://www.mediafire.com/

http://www.sendspace.com

Post the download link to the dumps in next reply.

A Speccy report about your system

Generate a report about your system using Speccy by reading the guide below. Make sure to run the Speccy after running the system about one or more hour. This will give us an indication of current CPU -GPU temperature status.

   http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/323892/publish-a-snapshot-using-speccy/

Post the web link displayed by Speccy in next reply.

A Minitoolbox log

Download Minitoolbox from the below link.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minitoolbox/

Run the tool and only select the following tick boxes.

-List last 10 Event viewer errors
    -List installed programs
    -List devices
-List users, partition and memory size

Now click "Go" and post the output in next reply  (or upload the result.txt with dump files)

Hi,

I'm getting crazy amounts of bluescreens lately, mentioning either the IRQ less than equal to, BAD_POOL_HEADER, or HIDCLASS.SYS. People have told me it could be the ram but I've swapped out both of them and it's still happening. I'm starting to think there's a rogue driver somewhere. The pc is only a few months old, and help would be appreciated.

So a couple of weeks ago I started getting BSODS of all sorts and then I found out that my case fan wasnt working at all so i replaced it and it is now functioning. Yesterday I got my first BSOD since I've gotten the fan about 2 weeks. Today i got about 6... all different ones and I updated my bios as well to see if that may be the problem but it wasn't. So I was wondering what to do ?

P.S.: im not really a Tech guy , I barely know anything about computers.
Please help.

A:Multiple BSODs

Case fan or CPU fan (fan in the middle of the motherboard)? If you can understand this info and post some minidumps... It would help us help you:
http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic51365.html

The hard drive and memory tests would be helpful too...

"I barely know anything about computers"...
Well lets see, you can change a fan and update motherboard bios. That's pretty good

I can't even get the computer to start most of the time, I managed to get in long enough to get these dumps. Please help.

A:Multiple BSODs

Nothing definitive was cited. However, with your symptoms and the various error codes you have there is a very strong possibility your issue is corrupted memory. Therefore, we suggest you run Memtest on your memory. It is safe, free, and engages right after boot-up.

See the link below and follow the instructions. There is a newer version than what is listed; use the newer. If you need to see what the Memtest screen looks like go to reply #21. The third screen is the Memtest screen.

Step1 - Let it run for a LONG time. The rule is a minimum of 7 Passes; the more Passes after 7 so much the better. The only exception is if you start getting errors before 7 Passes then you can skip to Step 2.

There are 8 individual tests per Pass. Many people will start this test before going to bed and check it the next day.

If you have errors you have corrupted memory and it needs to be replaced.

Step 2 ? Because of errors you need to run this test per stick of RAM. Take out one and run the test. Then take that one out and put the other in and run the test. If you start getting errors before 7 Passes you know that stick is corrupted and you don?t need to run the test any further on that stick.

Link: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62524.html

* Get back to us with the results.

*** If Memtest shows no errors then find the voltage specs of your RAM and compare it to the voltage setting in your BIOS. Do they match?

*** Also, we note you are still running XP with Service Pack 2. As of today, July 10, 2010, XP with SP2 will no longer be supported. You need to update to SP3 -- if you can -- today.

A:Multiple Different Bsods

Multiple different codes are typically the result of a hardware fault. The files noted above are all HDD related.

You could start by testing the HDD using the drive manufacturers disk tools.

A:Multiple BSODs per day

The memtest errors suggest a memory/mobo error - and not a PSU problem (but I'm not well versed in PSU voltage issues).
But, it's easier (and cheaper) to test the PSU than it is to test the mobo.

I would suggest purchasing a PSU from a store that you can return the PSU if you don't need it. Then try it and see if the memory tests still fail.

RMA the memory just in case. It has a lifetime warranty, so the cost shouldn't be an issue.

Check the motherboard website to see if there's any memory related BIOS updates available

Hello Sevenforums! I built my computer about 2 and half weeks ago and from day one I have been getting multiple BSODs. These BSODs are the following:
1.SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (X4)
2.IQRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (X4)
3.nvlddmkm.sys
4.MEMORY_MANAGEMENT(X2)

It also comes up with Windows has detected a problem and has shutdown to prevent damage.(I think that's what it says)
(Please note that (X*) is how many times it has occurred since I started recording the BSODs which was about a week and a half ago)

I can't seem to notice any pattern for when they occur besides when I had chrome, I am now just using IE10. Please let me know if there is something I can do to provide you more information to fix these problems.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, Luke

When does it happen? Can you boot into Windows at all, including safe mode?

Hi,
Sysytem spec:
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEm
System age 16 months
OS last reinstalled about 2 months ago.

I've attached a zip file with the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2folder & the PERFMON HTML file as described in the posting instructions thread.

I have been having BSODs randomly for the last few months (prior to and after reinstalling the OS). SOmetimes it goes weeks with no crashes, othertimes I get multiple crashes a day.

Any help in identifying the causes and solving the problem will be greatly appreciated.

You uploaded the app instead of the results

try this method
To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

Hello dear forum users,

Lately I've facing a lot of BSOD's, varying from BSOD 1e to 24 and 50.
I've used this and this program to collect some specs about those errors.
I hope you guys (and girls) can help me.
If you need some further information, please tell me and I'll try to collect it.
Please bear in mind that I'm just an average computer user.
Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Jay

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64 bit
- the original installed OS on the system? someone installed it for me
- an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail
- What is the age of system (hardware)? About 2.5 years right now
- What is the age of OS installation? 2 months

Note: before I had vista installed on this PC, but I was facing several BSOD so a friend said that I should
install windows 7.

A:Multiple BSODS

Hello Jay, welcome to SF!

I see two likely causes; perhaps they are both at fault.

The first of these is SPTD, which has a long history of causing BSODs in Windows. It is used by Daemon Tools and Alcohol 52/120%, neither of which I see installed on your system. First, remove any such programs you may be using, and then remove the actual driver. Use this tool to finish the job: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download...t-v178-x64.exe

The other issue I see is network-related. AVG crashed twice, and Firefox once. It's possible AVG is the cause, but more likely, a network adapter driver is at fault.
Code:
e1e6032e.sys Tue Mar 24 14:17:23 2009 (49C923B3) - Intel ethernet
Please install this updated driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...d=998&lang=eng

You may also run a hard drive diagnostic; I recommend SeaTools.

If the BSODs persist, run driver verifier: Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

A:Multiple BSODs

All of your BSODs are almost identical and they flag PctWfpFilter64.sys.

Remove PC tools and use MSE instead.
