I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hello @mladytink, Welcome to the HP Forums! I have taken a look at your post and understand the screen brightness is not working on your HP Pavilion g6 notebook. There are a few things to try in an attempt to resolve this issue. I know you have performed it once, but please start with a hard reset. Last Wednesday, I updated my antivirus and Friday, I updated Windows. I didn't notice any problems with my computer until I ran 2 more updates on Monday. I think they were just QuickTime and iTunes. I also copied several pictures from my phone to the computer. I restarted my computer when the updates were complete, and have been stuck on a red screen with white circling dots for about 24 hours. I have tried restarting, disconnecting from power, ctrl+alt+del, shift f10(and other function keys), shift +restart...nothing is working. Hello I'm searching for a monitor replacement for this pavilion. But the website directs me to products F0Q63UA & F0Q63UAR which both have the replacement code 732080-001 (LTN156AT30) for the display. But my product is a F0Q63UA#ABL and when I pulled the monitor out its code was LP156WH3 (TL)(S3).Will 732080-001 work anyway? Amazon has LP156WH3 (TL)(S3) But there's a 'Slim' version aswell and a touchscreen version or something. And all the monitor pages on amazon are saying to match back lighting and resolution numbers but both my laptop case and these monitors don't have any specifications about this.If 732080-001 will work I'll just use that instead of staring at codes that match but mean diffreant things. So that's all I really need to know. Thanks alot.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavilion-15-n084ca-screen/td-p/5614134

My Wifes HP Pavilion g6 freezes at the welcome screen. Not all the time, and sometimes only for a brief period of time, then sometimes it never proceeds.

I've had this laptop since 2012 and recently it has given me a lot of problems. It overheats, turns off by itself (even if the battery life is good) and has become slow. Today, I was writing a paper and the laptop cut off. When I turned it back on and logged in, the laptop got stuck at the "Welcome" screen. I can see my mouse moving and the tiny dots moving in a circular motion, but it does not go past this screen. Any advice would be extremely helpful!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Hp-Pavilion-stuck-at-quot-Welcome-quot-screen/td-p/5796488
Hi there I'm havIngle an issue with my laptop, I was typing up a document earlier today and walked away to have lunch after hitting update on AMD, and when I cane back my computer was on the HP load up screen so I figured it had restarted itself. I waited 10mins and realised it was frozen on this screen. I've done everything from taking the battery out, holding down the power button, running BIOS under the escrow button on start up (had to wait 3.5 hours for that one) which everything passed, and nothing has worked. I've been granted an extension on my assignment until Monday but it'll be no good to me if I can't sort my laptop!! Please help!!
Hi, Try the following. First of all, use another PC to create a bootable Windows 10 DVD or USB Flash Drive via the following link. Under the section 'Need to create a USB, DVD or ISO', download the Media Creation Tool. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Once you have this, run the tool, select 'Create installation media for another PC', then select the language, edition of Windows 10, and 64bit. Follow the rest of the prompts to create this and then click Finish when completed. Insert the Windows 10 Installation Media and Shutdown the notebook by holding down the power button for 10 seconds. Tap away at the esc key as soon as you press the power button to enter the Start-up Menu and then select the Boot Options Menu ( f9 ). Use the arrow keys to highlight the CDROM (uefi) or USB Flash Driver ( uefi ) option, depending on which typre of media you created, then hit enter - if prompted to 'Press any key to continue....' - do so. Boot to the Advanced Start-up Options Menu - see Option 5 on the link below for details on accessing this. http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanced-startup-options-boot-windows-10-a.html#option5 Then try running Windows System Restore to return the notebook to a point in time before this isssue occurred ( there should be a point just prior to the amd update ) - See Option 1 on the link below for details on this procedure. http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4588-system-restore-windows-10-a.html Regards, DP-Khttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-Pavilion-15-stuck-on-HP-screen/td-p/5594544

The photos that appear on my screen when I start the HP are very nice, but where are they from? Is there a function whereby I can see what they are?
On my old Nokia phone I had the same kind of daily photos but with location captions. That was great.
I want to know where the photos are from, otherwise I really don't want to see them.
Hi, my laptop recently developed abit of a flutter which quickly turned into a major flicker that has made it unusable.
I've tried booting it a few times since and it occasionaly makes a series of beeping sounds.
Any ideas would be apprieciated? I've dissembled the laptop to look for bad connections but everything looks fine to me. I imagine it could the graphics card?!
I did recently strip it bare for a heatsink clean, maybe 3 days before the problem arose.
Any help appreciated.
First thing I would do is connect the laptop to an external monitor and see if you get the same problem. If you do then its a good possibility the problem is the graphics card itself, if you don't it is possibly the screen or associated part.
If it is not the graphics card itself, my next thought would be possibly the backlight / inverter. These are normally fairly easy to replace as long as you don't mind taking the laptop apart a little bit. What is the exact make and model?
A test for a failed backlight is, when the machine is turned on, if the screen is very dark or appears to be off use a normal torch and shine it at the screen, while doing that look closely at the screen to see if you can see the normal image, it will be quite feint. If you can see it with the torch shining at the screen then there is a good chance the backlight / inverter has failed, this is a fairly common component to fail on laptops.

H @amwalberg, Thank you for your query! I understand that your two-month-old notebook has a blank or black display when you power it on. You hear the fan and see the lights but the display is blank. Are you connecting directly to and electrical outlet and not using a power/surge bar? Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Computer Starts but Screen Remains Blank (Windows 10, 8). If the issue should remain, please contact HP Support for further assistance. Please contact HP support at Contact HP Support . Please let me know the outcome. Thanks! I'm unsure where to post this because I do not know what it causing the computer to crash. Can anyone help?
Blue screens when reaches a certain temperature it seems. I have down loaded speed fan to monitor.
If I place computer on my lap it's temp rises quickly and eventually bluescreens.
If I lift the back up off the table and prop it, and place a fan behind it to increase airflow it runs fine.
Is there some sort of diagnostic someone could walk me through?
Not a diagnostic, more of a simple check - - make sure all the air vents on the laptop (usually situated underneath & on the sides) are clear of fluff & dust build-up.
Also, avoid using it on your lap unless it's sitting on a hard, flat surface such as a meal tray. When placed directly on your lap it can overheat because your clothing and the uneven surface are blocking one or more of the air vents.
My PC hp Pavilion m series with windows Pavilion screen blue HP vista home premium wont boot i hit the power button and the Hp blue screen comes up and then it comes to a black screen saying quot start windows normally quot and another option quot windows repair quot I ve tried the windows repair but it asks me to insert disc which I don t have tho on the hp blue screen it says hit f for recovery but it doesn t work I can HP Pavilion blue screen into the bios and other menus other than my recovery one my pc has been like this for a year or so and now that my laptop has went on the blink would love to get this up again so basically I get blue screen when I try to start windows normally and it just restarts its self any help would be greatly appreciated note im pretty sure this all started after a windows update i did ages ago nbsp

HP Pavilion G6 shows Black Screen on start up; have tried all the HP recommended work-arounds to no avail.
Hook up the laptop to an external monitor. If that works then the LCD screen has failed, and needs to be replaced. If you get nothing with the monitor, but the computer sounds like it is booting up, then the video chip on the motherboard has failed and you will need to replace the motherboard.http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/hp-pavilion-g6-w-blank-screen-896618.html
I'm interested in buying the HP Pavilion 15-ac187nd. The main hardware site of my country (netherlands) says in the specification that this laptop has an IPS screen. However, in a review the person says it doesn't have an IPS screen. The HP website doesnt show IPS under specifications either. Can someone confirm wether or not it has an IPS screen?
Hi @Sander86, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I looked up the specs on the HP 15-ac187nd Notebook and it has IPS (In-plane switching) is a screen technology for LCDs. The Notebook you are looking at does have this with a 39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal FHD anti-glare WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080). I hope this answers your concerns. My pavilion 7935 worked fine until I tried to reboot last night, when it hung on the blue HP screen. I have unplugged, rebooted many times, and still no success. I can press f1 and get the "entering setup" to come up on the blue screen, but it never enters setup, still just hangs.
I have a removable hard drive that I was trying to boot into when it froze. I have tried to reboot with the drive in and out, with no success. I cannot try a boot disk, because it will not get to that stage, it freezes before it accesses any drives.
I have removed the cmos battery, and replaced it, but still no success.
Welcome to TSG
"entering setup" do you mean cmos/bios setup, and when you removed the cmos battery did you replace it or put the old one back in. As its trying to boot do you get any beeps or lights or HD noises?? also what OS are you running??

a_josiah Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!Sorry, but this is just a community forum staffed by volunteers and we have no way of troubleshooting or repairing your PC from here. My guess would be that you would only have to repair the screen, but a dropped laptop can also damage the hard drive and the keyboard. Unfortunately, we also have no way of providing repair estimates. For that information, your only recourse is to take the PC into an HP Service Center and have them look at it.Here is a link with information on HP Service Centers: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00372730?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0004Good Luckhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/cracked-pavilion-screen/td-p/5807565
I was just using my hp pavilion touchsmart when I lifted it and the screen cracked. I never dropped it nor have I mishandled it so when it happened I was extremely surprised. The actual display still works fine, but the touch screen no longer works so I must use the finger pad and keyboard. I was wondering if I would be able to send it in to be repaired or exchanged, if it would cost me, and if so, how would I go about sending it in. Thank you!
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, this post has instructions.

My roommate is having some problems with her HP Pavilion laptop. She said that around christmas these problems started. The computer will be working fine then the screen will just turn off. The computer to all appearances continues to run, but hte screen is off. Occationally it will come back on when she closes the laptop then reopens it, but this isn't consistant. Often when she restarts/turns on the laptop the screen just doesn't turn on. The laptop seems to be going through the startup process from the sound of it but the screen stays dark. I would guess this is a hardware problem, either a loose cord or a problem with the screen itself. Any suggestions about anything possible to do?
Most likely it is either the screen backlight or the inverter that powers the backlight.
Or the connections or screen switch
The backlight may be of unitary construction with the LCD screen, but the inverter or switch should be service replaceable.
With a torch on the face of the screen you may just be able to make out the image to confirm that the laptop is still running, or plug in an external monitor and use the toggle keystrokes for that model laptop to enable it.
I will start saying that I m sorry for my English..Well, one month ago I brought a pavilion x2 from Amazon..I used it more or less 24 hours and today I 've got a problem while I was trying to turn it on..The light on the right was on but the screen was totally black..I tried to charge it but after that the light turned off, I press again the button to turn computer on and the light was on for like 3 seconds then nothing..I didn't hear any sound from the computer and I really hope I will solve soon this problem..Now I let it charging, please tell me what should I do

My daughter's HP Pavilion Artist's Edition laptop is continually defaulting to a black screen after booting up.
We updated the nvidia driver, but to no avail. She's running Vista Home Premium.
Any ideas how we can cure this? Safe mode doen't seem to help, I also started it without battery in. HP don't really want to know now it's out of warranty, but I see on their site there has been a recall of some similar models for a video card fault.
I don't know what else to try.
Hi, Just bought a HP Pavilion x2 - 10-j000na (ENERGY STAR) which arrived 2 days ago. Has been working fine - and battery charge was about halfway down. Had no problems until this evening when I'm getting no response whatsoever from it. Tried plugging it in with the adaptor, and also starting it on just battery power - but screen remains black, no lights, nothing. Any clues?? :/ Thanks.

I have read your post on how your notebook computer is not able to power on, even though it is plugged into the AC adapter, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter! If your computer is powering on, but there is no lights illuminating on the device, I recommend following this document on Computer Starts but Screen Remains Blank (Windows 8). Should the machine not respond at all when the button is pressed, I alternatively suggest this document: Computer does not start (Windows 8). This should help restore the display to your notebook computer. If the issue persists, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.htmlI hope this helps!Regardshttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Pavilion-Detachable-Black-Screen/td-p/4694314

Hello, I recently bought my monitor (pavilion23xw) and it arrived in the mail to me three days ago , i set it up last night because i finally built my desk and when i turned it on its fine, there are no serious problems that make it unusable but there is an annoying aspect of when i close out of a program or browser, my desktop screenkeeps an image of the program in a backwards L shape on the right and bottom sides of the screen, its even blocking some of my programs. The image im attaching here makes the "backwards L" black only because of the program i used to take the picture, but its usually a ghost image of my browser, or a program.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavilion-23xw-Ghost-screen/td-p/5669575

Around 3 weeks ago I purchased a hp pavilion 15-p211au. Once I purchased the laptop I installed Firefox and selected it as my default browser. Shortly after I would receive a bsod when listening to music online or watching youtube videos. I took it back to the retailer and they tested it and there were no hardware issues they advised me to restore back 2 factory settings. I did so and the bsod persisted. I finally got the go ahead from HP and was able to receive an exchange/refund. I exchanged the computer, I got home and set up the computer and started watching videos on youtube and the bsod appeared again with the same message as my previous laptop. I'm starting to think there is no issue with the laptop but issues with firefox causing it to crash. However I may be wrong. What can I do to fix this issue?
Hi. . .
Please run - Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions - Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 & Vista
The first thing I would do is to contact HP support given the system is just 3 weeks old.

Also -- if possible - return it and get another.

Hi there @bfeliciano86, Before I provide troubleshooting documentation, I would like to take a minute to welcome you to the HP Support Community, where you can ask questions, find solutions and get help from others! I will do my absolute best to help you resolve the issue you are having with the black screen on your HP Pavilion x2 Notebook PC. Note: please make sure that the AC adapter cable is not plugged into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source. It should be directly into a wall outlet. Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. As silly as it sounds, did you happen to try removing dust from the cooling areas in a notebook?Have you connected the Notebook to an external monitor or TV? If you remove the notebook battery, plug the AC power cable back into the notebook, then turn it on, does it power the Notebook? Do you have any beep codes or blinking LED lights? Have you done a BIOS reset?Have you tried performing a hard reset?Have you tried to see if you can test for hardware failures? If the computer is on, do you hear the fan running? If so, but the display remains blank, please see Computer Starts but Screen Remains Blank. If you require further assistance, I would be more than happy to help! Please just re-post with the information required from above. Please let me know the detailed results of the troubleshooting steps provided. Could you please provide me with your Model Number (How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?) also. Please let me know the detailed answers/results of the troubleshooting provided above. If this reply resolves your issue, please share the good news! Let others know this reply was helpful by clicking the Accept as Solution button at the bottom of this post. To simply say thanks, please click the Thumbs up below! Thanks for joining the HP Support Community! Have a great day!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavilion-x2-Detachable-black-screen/td-p/5672601
I have an HP pavilion dv2000. When I turn on the computer it boots, shows me the options and everything, but after the windows symbol shows, the screen goes completely black. Everything works properly if I boot it in safemode, which is how I have been using it lately. I've tried the battery trick, as well as resetting my bios settings. The fact that it works in safemode tells me its not a problem with my video card, or monitor connection. I have also run a virus scanner in safemode.... nothing came up. Any other ideas?
Have you tried changing your resolution? Or do you have a dual monitor setup?
Try uninstalling the video card in safe mode, then restart and see what happens
Hello This laptop is about years old but I only used it for about one year When I start to play music or anything that is video related vertical lines appear HP Screen Pavilion Flickering Dv7-4151nr I can restart it but if the movie of whatever is still playing it could start flickering again If I leave it alone sometimes it will quot Fix quot itself sometimes I will play with the screen or tap it and it go in and out But basically it happens when there is some kind of player up like flash or a movie and there are vertical white and blue lines then the screen will go to black Yes I can plug it in to an external monitor but i don t own one And as a really cheap working student I don t have the money to spend to take it in and pay for maybe What would be the best possible ways to fix this probplem as cheap as possible Thank You nbsp
Similar to my other thread in the hardware section I have a friend who has an HP Pavilion dv t laptop with Windows Pro x installed The laptop has been working fine until stops at Hp Hp Screen Logo Pavilion recently when a curious irregularity has started happening The laptop will start up fine but when it first boots up it Hp Pavilion stops at Hp Logo Screen will Hp Pavilion stops at Hp Logo Screen hit the HP Invent logo screen revealing all the startup key options such as F to enter setup F for system info etc The laptop Hp Pavilion stops at Hp Logo Screen will just sit there on the HP screen until any key is pressed then it will continue the boot sequence and load Windows normally I can enter the BIOS normally and access any of the startup options normally It's just that the laptop used to boot past the HP screen without intervention and now it won't without a key press I've checked all the settings in the BIOS and I've even flashed it to a more recent version but no luck I don't know what caused it because it has just started happening recently and there doesn't appear to be any reason for it Could it possibly be a hardware issue Would I need to check the drive for errors or is it a problem within Windows
Hooray! Great news! I figured out what was causing the problems. It turns out that my friend had broken off one of the laptop keys, and in an attempt to get it to remain on the laptop, glued it back on to the keyboard, without telling me. I discovered this when I opened Wordpad to write some notes, only to find the 9 key displaying in an active line, like this: 99999999999999999
The key had been glued so firmly that it was permanently pressing as though someone were holding it down. As a result, the trackpad wouldn't scroll (as the 9 key also doubled as the right arrow key) and the BIOS would remain stuck on the initial boot screen until another key was pressed.
After removing the key, I scraped the dried glue off of it, reattached the plastic switch to the metal brackets on the keyboard so it snapped firmly back into place, and sternly lectured my friend about why superglue and keyboards do not mix.
Hello! Does anyone experienced a problem with the green side tint and pixelation on Hp Pavilion 23xi monitor? Is there any solution to fix it? Its happened recently and I have checked all the connections - they are fine, I have tried o restart the monitor to factory settings and problem is still here. It happened only to one side of the monitor (right hand side) and is really annoying. Thanks in advance for your help
Hello @Carssi, Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I have read your post on how your monitor is displaying a green side tint and pixelation, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter! To further diagnose the pixelation issue with your display, I recommend following the steps in this document on Display Quality Issues. If the issue remains, I suggest following the steps below to correct the issue of the green side tint:Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wallStep 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minuteStep 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outletStep 4. Press the Menu button on the monitorStep 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select itStep 6. Try a different cable connecting your monitor to your computerIf the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. My laptop worked one day, and the next, the screen seems kinda dimmed light and black, but works with an external monitor (typing on the tv as we speak)... it runs Windows 8 - though i am not sure which version. I'm looking at the pc above for a friend. When the pc is switched on the windows xp screen comes on but the desktop doesn't appear.
When i go into safe mode the desktop appears fine.
When i delete the driver for the display adaptor in safe mode and reboot, the desktop comes up and all appears ok. it then re-installs the driver then goes to the blank screen again.
I also cant turn on mcafee real time scanning either in safe mode.
I'm running as administrator in safe mode but its not allowing me to use windows update in safe mode as it says it can only bes used if i'm the administrator?
Can anyone help please.
You cannot run McAfee or Windows Update in Safe Mode. Safe Mode is a limited amount of drivers used for trouble shooting your computer.
In Safe Mode, Go to Start/Run and type appwiz.cpl and press enter. In the Add Remove Programs, uninstall the Video Adapter Driver, not just delete it. When you restart the computer the standard VGA driver will load. Then you can go to the HP Drivers site, and download the Driver-Original/ Original Chipset, and the Original Graphic Driver collection.

Hey all I have is screen up Pavilion messed laptop HP in my possession one of my friend's laptop an HP Pavilion DV- She recently needed to replace the battery since Windows reported that her old battery needed to be replace since it couldn't hold a charge She got the battery replaced it and that's where the problems began The laptop starts up HP Pavilion laptop screen is messed up fine boots into Windows normal but the screen itself doesn't work a full on black screen I have it connected to a VGA monitor to test if the graphics chipset is fine It worked fine for the first five minutes on VGA with perfect color and all Then it went weird and now there's a blue tinge I tried to hook it to an HDMI monitor and started up the laptop but the BIOS hung saying that it's quot Preparing to boot to OS quot and does nothing On HDMI the BIOS doesn't have a blue tinge on VGA it does I looked at the replacement battery and it was volts it should be like the original My conclusion that I drew from this is that the battery slightly overvolted something either the LCD screen the inverter or maybe a voltage converter I'm now thinking the graphics chip is also damaged OH I already tried power cycling it so any comments and suggestions on what you guys think would help I'm trying to get a second opinion I have yet to crack the sucker up and see if there's a loose connector
1. Power off laptop
2. Remove battery
3. connect power back to the laptop (battery still removed)
Does the laptop work? yes or no
My mother-in-law recently gifted me her old school. She said it was a touchscreen but she never figured out how to work it. When I Google it, similar results (instead of "10" all I see is "10xx##xx" type things) say TouchSmart and are touch equipped. Did you change the inverter over from the old board or did it come with one, (inverter: a small board usually across the bottom of the screen)
when you fitted the board did you make sure you seated all the conenctions properly..

My laptop oftens turn black with just the cursor, once I turn it on. The Windows logo shows and prompts me to log in as the user but after that, the screen just turns black/blank. I've searched this forum and found a 2012 solution but that doesn't seem to work now since I couldn't download an ISO for Windows 7 at Microsoft. Microsoft suggests I contact the manufacturer for the ISO. I can still access the files in the HP Tools drive of my laptop, if that helps. I don't want to turn off my laptop now as I'm afraid the problem will occur next time I boot it up. Thanks in advance!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Black-Screen-with-just-the-Cursor-on-HP-Pavilion-DM4/td-p/5829070
It seems like some virus. When I start the laptop,it starts fine and then yahoo messanger pop up comes, but the background remains blank. If I close messanger window, it remains blank for few minutes and then again messanger pops up. I cant open anything thru shortcut keys from keyboard.
OS is windows vista. It will be great if i can get some help.
You said that your background remains blank. Can you see your desktop icons?
This problem has been persisting for a while now. Whenever I try to turn on my computer, the lights go on like it's booting up, but the screen stays completely blank. Not just dim or black, but off, completely blank. In other words, the computer essentially can't turn on. Any ideas?

Something is wrong with my monitor. It looks like not all of the pixiles are lighting up on the left side. It looks like there is a gradient effect on my computer. Sometimes it goes away at random, but it is usually there. I tried switching monitors and it only happens on this HP Pavillion 23bw. Is there a way to fix it or send away for a new one?
Hello GreenCherries, On the left side of the monitor you state it looks like pixels are not all lighting up, is that correct? I will try to help you. Have you tested this monitor to a different video cable, or does that cable work fine with other monitors? Please respond back at your earliest convenience.Thankshttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/hp-pavilion-23bw-Screen-Problem/td-p/2952079

I purchased a Pavilion 27xw monitor last week and began using it yesterday. I've immediately had this issue where the screen will flicker off and on for a second when I perform certain tasks such as scrolling through twitter. It does it every time I watch a video and close the media player. I know it's a problem with the monitor since I have never had this issue before. I bought this monitor to replace an older one that had failed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/Pavilion-27xw-screen-flickering/td-p/5757493

I have had an HP Pavilion dv r Will HP Pavilion Not Show dv9535r Screen ANY notebook computer for a year now A few weeks ago the computer screen mysteriously faded through a series of colored lines gradually reaching a uniform black Most of the computer hardware seemed to be working-If I put a disc in I could hear it start reading HP Pavilion dv9535r Will Not Show ANY Screen the disc The AC power was working and so were the fans I just couldn't see anything I only got a response when I let the computer die before restarting it When i restarted it i was given several options I could continue to Vista like normal or attempt to fix the problem If I went to Vista like normal it seemed fine for maybe an hour or two but then the screen would randomly fade as described If i tried to fix the problem Windows said it couldn't fix it Now whatever i do the screen fades Even taking the battery out letting it die etc I've tried using the recovery disks I made when i got the computer but the screen doesn't respond In case the problem may just be the monitor I tried conneting the computer to my TV using an S-Video cable No response Is it just the graphics card Nvidia GeForce GM Of course the warranty ran out just before Please help Thanks
It could be the graphics card.. refer to this:

I tried doing a factory restart on an HP pavilion, it worked but it went back to Windows 8. I tried upgrading to Windows 10 and the computer was working great until it downloaded then when it started it it froze on the HP logo screen it didn't saying anything at all beside the HP logo in he middle. I turned it on and off again but that didn't seem to work at all it kept being stuck on the exact same HP screen without it saying loading or anything I tried the F10 trick but it didn't workhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/HP-Pavilion-is-stuck-on-HP-loading-screen/td-p/5785124
Every once in a while, my HP Pavilion 25bw monitor randomly goes static (like an old TV with no connection; grey, black, and white dots flickering). This occured very little when I first purchased the monitor and I thought nothing of it, but lately it has been occuring much more often and it is quite annoying. Once the monitor goes static, I have to turn the computer off by pressing the power button but once I turn the computer back on the monitor seems to go back to normal. Please help me fix this problem!
Hello @Screenname12341, I understand that your HP Pavilion 25bw Monitor randomly displays a static screen and you have to turn it off to get it to function properly again. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wallStep 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minuteStep 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitorStep 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select itStep 6. Change the cables connecting the PC to the monitorIf the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists.
