Q: What memory Tecra 8200 uses

How many memory slots there are available? And how much memory can it handle? And what memory it uses?

Preferred Solution: What memory Tecra 8200 uses

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: What memory Tecra 8200 uses

I found this page about memory modules for Tecra 8200:

It looks like the Tecra 8200 would support max. 512MB and you could use the 144-Pin PC133 SODIMM or 144-Pin PC100 SODIMM memory modules!

Hope I could help a little bit!

I have a Tecra 8200 p3 (850 i think) that currently has 2x 128MB RAM.

The laptop only registers 128MB, so I think one of the sockets may be faulty.

I understand the maximum memory the tecra 8200 will address is 512MB, but can this be in a single Dimm, or must it be in 2x256?

A:Tecra 8200 recognizes only one 128MB memory module

You can use 2 x 256MB memory modules 144-Pin PC133 SODIMM or 144-Pin PC100 SODIMM

I'm in need of XP drivers for my old laptop, but the Toshiba has completely removed drivers for their old laptops. Where could I found these drivers? I honestly spend last 30min trying to search drivers from the web.

And I read that WiFi doesn't work in XP, has there been found any solution to this problem?

Thank you for your help and btw, English is not my strongest language :)

A:Need WXP drivers for my Tecra 8200

It is really amazing!!!

It is sooooooooo easy to find all this stuff and I am asking myself what you have done 30 minutes. If you have old notebook model it is LOGIC that this stuff can be placed under option *ARCHIVE*. Am I right about that?

Please go to Toshiba download page again and under *PRODUCT TYPE* choose option *ARCHIVE*.

I really hope this time you will need just a minute to find WXP drivers.

Bye and good luck!

I want to update this NB as I have only just got it second hand. Info on the label doesn't seem to correspond to what Tosh. are asking me. Model Number: PT8200E-05WQP-GR. P3 750Mhz. I dont know whether it is a A2 A3 A8 etc etc. Ta.

A:Tecra 8200 Identity?

The reason why you cannot find your machine is because you?re searching in the wrong section.
Your machine is a little bit older and doesn?t belongs to the new generation of toshiba notebooks. To find the drivers and the BIOS update, you will have to choose Archive in the Drivers Download section.

Here?s some short description to find your machine in the drivers section:

Go to the Drivers Download section and choose:
"Product type" -> Archive
"Family" -> Tecra-Archive
"Product series" -> Tecra 8xxx
"Model" -> Tecra 8200
"Short model number" -> PT820E

Afterwards choose the operating system where you need drivers. The BIOS update is included in the driver list.

I have just bought an old Tecra 8200 with a CD-Rom drive in its SelectBay.
I would like to change to a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive.
Could anyone let me know the correct model number for this combo drive please?

Okay this is probably a stupid question but I have a Tecra 8200 .
Do I have to buy something else for the wireless connection to work?

A:Tecra 8200 wireless question

This question is not stupid ;) because the Tecra 8200 was equipped optional with the internal minPCI WLan card. This could be a little bit confusing.
So in some Tecra 8200 units the WLan is already included and in some Tecra?s the minPCI WLan card must be installed firstly to use the WLan technology.

You should check your device manager if an WLan module is listed in ?Network adepter?
If it?s already listed then you don?t need an additional WLan card.
If it?s not listed, then you will have to upgrade the machine with the minPCI WLan card or with a USB WLan stick.

As far as I know the PA3070U-1MPC Wireless LAN mini-PCI card coudl be compatible with your notebook.

Hi All,

I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200 that constantly freezes up. I find that it mainly occurs when I physically move the laptop. Any suggestions?

A:Toshiba Tecra 8200 Freezing

When it freezes, do you have a mouse physically attached to it? If so, possibly a defective mouse. Otherwise, I'd have to think a loose wire someplace or you're creating a horrendous amount of static when you're moving. Just a few avenues to take.

High all
Can anyone tell me how to tell what the model I have? I am trying to download the drivers for my machine but am not sure what series / model it is.

I have the following information on the base of the machine:

TOSIBA Tecra 8200
Model No: PT820E-05WQT-E
Serial No: 61276516G ST820-0

It is a Pentium 3 machine but is it an: A / M / R / S series? Then what model do I select after that please?

A:Tecra 8200 - Which notebook Model number do I have?

Your Tecra is simply Tecra 8200 and there is no other model number.
Drivers you can find on Toshiba download page under > Support & Downloads but under Product type you must choose option ARCHIVE.

Then you will find option for Tecra 8200.

Good luck!

My Tecra 8200 PT820E has at some time been formatted minus the Tosh. control software. Hand book says go to Control Panel/power saving and alter screen brilliance there. That does not exist on my machine.

The problem is when on battery power the brilliance level drops to an unreadable level. Is there any other way to increase the brightness level?

A:LCD screen brilliance control on Tecra 8200

You can do this very easy by using FN+F7 to raise brightness level.
And I think it is supposed to be the Toshiba Power Saver where you have to look for that option.

This little utility can handle behaviour for power saving modes and there is an option how much display is darkened.

A:Where can I download drivers and manual for Tecra 8200

Take a look on this Toshiba European website:

There you will find an Support homepage which contains different links to the drivers and manuals.
Then you have to choose the *ARCHIVE* in the download form!
This unit is an oldie and therefore all manuals and drivers were moved to the ?Archive?.

When I use my Tecra 8200 laptop with (the brand new) battery, the light goes down on the screen making it almost impossible to work with. I use windows XP. I havn?t found any settings to adjust this - anybody knows what to do?

Thankful for help!

A:Tecra 8200 screen goes black when I use the battery

Hi there,

I mean thats normal, you have a notebook which has some powersaving features. Just a question besides: had it the same behaviour before you exchanged the battery?? Or did you recently installed some new drivers/tools/software??

Otherwise I would suggest you to go to the Toshiba Drivers Download site and download the latest powersaver for your machine to adjust the screen brightness.

Just give it a try if not already did and it should work.

I want to update BIOS to latest level v1.6 .
I don't have a selectabay FDD ,only a DVD drive.
Now it would take 3 DVD's to do this i presume .ie having to sequentially update the BIOS to the latest.,
v1.4 then 1.5v and lastly v1.6.

Does the board support booting of a USB Mem stick, or a USB FDD.
Any thoughts on the best way to do this.

Is there a utility that I could download and do it from windows..

My system is an 820E. Tecra series 8200.

I doubt you cannot do this.

Toshiba page provides a trad BIOS update which can be update only using the FDD drive.

Tecra 8200 with Win XP professional

The cursor randomly freezes and jumps back to life after a few seconds, very occasionally I have to re-boot.
This happens both with the keyboard mouse or a remote mouse.

Hope some one can help as it's driving me mad.

A:Cursor randomly freezes and jumps back to life on Tecra 8200 with Win XP

It could be caused by anything.

However I had this problem on my previous laptop, it was the wireless card causing it.

Try disabling it in Device Manager and see how that goes.

I have tried to increase the amount of memory my computer has but am running into some issues. It says I can use 1066/800/667/533/400 for which there are 4 slots each of which have a led light next to them. They light up in either green for good or red for not so good. Anyway I have a total of 3 2gb memory cards (PC5400) but I always seem to get a red light on which ever one I put in the third slot.... I want to get the maximum usage out of my pc but would like to fix this problem. Any clues?

A:XFX GeForce 8200 AMD socket 940 memory

As XFX has a really annoying system for hiding whatever minimal amount of info they have for this board of yours, it is hard to give you too much help.

The general specs for the GF 8200 chipset allow for easily 6 GB of RAM. If I interpret your question correctly, you are having trouble with the 3rd slot only and not the others. If so, don't use the troublesome slot and use the 4th slot. If that doesn't work either, your board is probably starting to fail, but then again, your board is probably starting to fail. It may well be time to move away from an AM2+ board to an AM3 or AM3+. You may also have to change your CPU and/or RAM but then again you may well still be able to get a compatible board such as this:

Prices are not very high and will probably only be available for the next 6 months or so as all these boards have been phased out by their makers. This is the not-so-bad news. The good news is that you will be able to use all your other parts with them.

How much memory can i fit in a Tecra M10-1CN and should it be in two 200 Pin SO DIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz modules

A:How much memory can i fit in a Tecra M10-1CN?

The memory expand possibility depends on the chipset of the motherboard
The Tecra M10 supports the Mobile Intel(R) GM45 Express chipset? and this chipset supports max DDR2 800MHz 8GB RAM

So first of all you can use 2 x 4GB RAM modules and secondly the memory speed is limited to 800MHZ.

Even if you would use faster modules i.e. 1033Mhz the FSB would clock down the speed to 800Mhz? so it?s not worth to use faster modules than DDR2 800Mhz

Hi All,

Have ordered some RAM to upgrade my Toshiba Tecra Z40-A, but can't for the life of me find anything online of where to insert it.

I have installed RAM previously under the keyboard (couple of clips holding it in) and on others, a small covering on the bottom, but the Z40 doesn't seem to have anywhere easily accessible.

Has anyone upgraded RAM on the Z40? Or is this a big no no, due to warranty?

A:Tecra Z40-A - Upgrading Memory (RAM)

Memory upgrade on this Tecra model is a bit complicated and, I think, should not be done by notebook owner. For some models Ram upgrade can be done by notebook owner and exact instructions how to do this is offered in user?s manuals document, but not for your Tecra.

For full access to RAM modules bottom cover must be removed and it can be done by service people only. If you do this alone you can cancel valid warranty.
I recommend you to contact nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help or advice.

The chipset supports 8GB RAM so you should be able to use the 8GB.
But if the BIOS does not recognize the 8GB RAM then one of the modules could be faulty or not compatible with another module.

This is only and one plausible explanation for me

If you installed 32bit Windows 7, you won't get more than 3GB due to 32bit addressing limitations.

If you have 64bit Windows 7, the 1GB is probably being used by the graphics chip (GPU) as Video RAM.

A:Can I use Tecra A10 OS disk to install OS on Tecra M10?

At first I must say that Toshiba recovery image is created for each notebook model separately and it is 100% created to work on specific model. Why?
Every notebook model has different hardware platform and all drivers, tools and utilities for certain model are part of recovery image. These recovery images are also tested.

Generally speaking if both models have identical hardware platform (hardware parts) it can be used.

Dear forum
The above says it all really.

I see the two look similar, but one is smaller. Are these two models different in other ways please.

A:Difference between Tecra A10 and Tecra M10

Of course the both notebooks are different.
There are different Tecra A10 models and there are different Tecra M10 units.

For example:
Tecra *A10-13B* supports an Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2,26 GHz CPU and Intel GM45 chipset.

Tecra *A10-1D2* supports an Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80Ghz CPU and Intel GM45 chipset

You can find details about different discontinued notebook models here:
Then you can compare all the hardware parts.

Here's what could be a simple question.
My wife has a Dell 8200. It only has 256 of RAM. I have a spare 512 Ram, can I install it?
Is Dell propriatary and has to have a "certain" type of RAM?

Thanks folks.

Ok I just got the Dell Dimension 1GB PC800 RDRAM 1024MB Rambus RIMM I won on eBay. Before I even started looking on eBay, I did research on the RAM for this computer, thought I knew what needed to be known.

Installed them, thought everything was going well...... then I started the computer back up and it tells me that the two are unsupported and to get the correct type.
My computer is a:
Dell 8200
Pentium 4
CPU 2.40GHz
2.39 GHz, 256 MB of RAM

What did I do wrong?

A:Dell 8200 RAM Help

According to this the memory you need is PC800 (non-ECC).

The memory you got - KINGSTON RDRAM # KTD-DM800E/1024 ECC.

You got ECC memory, you need non-ECC. Some motherboards will work OK with either one, but probably not in this case.

Edit: However this is what I found at Crucial: Your system supports ECC. You can put non-ECC modules into an ECC system, but be sure not to mix ECC and non-ECC modules within a system. Install the same type of modules that are already in your system.

So it just might be that you can't mix ECC and non-ECC.

Hi all, you were a great help on my last question. Since I am not real computer savy, I need to know if on an Inspiron 8200 laptop, is the processor easily replaced like on a desktop? I currently have a 1.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4. I would like to put a faster processor. I know on a desktop, they just plug in. Is the Inspiron that way or is it soldiered to the Mother Board. If it can be replaced easily, then I would like to do so. I hope you can help me. Thanks

I just put a new 6G040 MOBO in my Dell Inspiron 8200. Now I get nothing but LED lights that only stay on for about 2-3 seconds. During the switchover, I transferred the old CPU/heatsink to the new MOBO (new thremal paste) and everything fit nice. I cant figure out why this thing is dead! I have re-seated the RAM and went over everything I can think of.

Is it a bad idea to remove a CPU and place it in a new MOBO?

Any ideas??

A:My Inspiron 8200 is dead!!

-check that the power connectors are on properly
-reset bios?
-check BIOS settings are correct
-check for shorting to the case?
-run on minimum setup outside of the case on a non-conductive surface and see if it boots

if you do get past POST maybe try running a windows repair, since its using new hardware..

HI, I have a few questions and I would appreciate if they could be answered ASAP.

First all, I have the plug that connects my TV to my laptop, but when I set that up, TV OUT does not work (in other words I do not see my laptop image on my TV).

Do I need to reboot after plugging the cables from the TV to the laptop?

or is there some settings i need to change on the computer?
Also, I would love to know if TV IN is possible (can I watch TV on my laptop)
Again, its a Dell inspiron 8200 with WINDOWS XP PRO installed and running.
Appreciate help asap, THAnKS!

Howdy Sphinx...

Don't really know about the 8200, but on my 7500, I have to go into Display Properties - Settings - Advanced button - Displays tab and enable the TV out...

As far as the TV in goes, it would have to have a TV in connector, or a TV tuner card...

Greetings, Does someone has any experience, or knowledge on if the 8200 Elite will boot from a PCIe SSD disk like the Kingston HyperX Predator (with the HHHL adapter) or a similar product? The only information I could find so far, is that it probably won't boot from an NVMe device with a PCIe adapter. Thanks,Pantelis

Panteliss, welcome to the forum. Here are the recommendations from Crucial Memory.  If Crucial recommends a SSD it is guaranteed to work or it will be replaced with no additional cost to you.  If you have questions, you should contact their Tech Support to answer them before ordering a SSD.  There are six different capacities from which to choose.  Crucial makes very good quality products. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Hi, I'm looking at getting an HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT PC (part number LE245PA) and have a question about the maximum RAM it will take. The PC is the one at 10 of is a bit ambiguous and I can't work out whether the max is 16GB, or whether it is 32GB.It says "1GB, 2GB, and 4GB DDR3 DRAM technologies are supported. Using 4 GB device technologies, the largest memory capacity possible is 32 GB, assuming dual channel mode with four x 8 GB dual ranked unbuffered DIMM memory configuration".But then the table at the bottom of the same page seems to imply that that maximum is 16GB.Can anyone please advise whether the maximum is 16GB or 32GB in this model?

hi there,
i would like to know is it worth to upgrade from an
intel quadcore 8200 to an phenom 2 x4 965 cpu?
please let me know ,
thanks for answer

A:intel 8200 quadcore or phenom 2x4 965

With the total price of the upgrade, it's not really worth it. Phenom II x4 965, or even 955 (better bang per buck), is quite significantly faster, but you'd need a new motherboard, in the end, it costs so much for a pretty small boost in performance. If you really want to upgrade, go Intel i7 or i5... (the 200-300$ models).

Again, the computer is a business class model regardless of its being use in a home environment. Many business class computers use hardware which is specific a business environment and not typically used in a home environment. Again, your question may be better answered in the HP Business Support Forum. As far getting assistance without going to the business forum.. according to the specs, this model support a legacy analog VGA port and a modern digital DisplayPort port. Both of these port get their signals from the integrated Intel graphics sub-system. The DisplayPort port will require an adapter unless the monitor also has a DisplayPort port. If the computer was ordered with an alternative graphics card or one has been installed everything changes. Please provide a photo of the back of your computer, showing the VGA port and all nearby ports. Also provide the brands and models of the monitors you are attempting to use with this computer.   Please send KUDOs

my first post.

the task has fallen to me to do something about my daughter's flickering screen on her Dell Inspiron 8200. After running various utilities and diagnostics, and then taking it to a Staples computer fix it shop, the verdict seems to be that it needs a new video card.

She doesn't play games that require a high end graphics card. She just wants to surf and chat with her friends, etc.

I found a manual on line, and the directions for changing the video card look pretty straightforward. I even pulled the laptop apart to see what is currently installed.

My question is, since I can't seem to pry this info from, what should I buy to replace the card, and where can I buy it?

the laptop is running Windows XP.

The 'CMOS' chip on the motherboard retains the settings. That chip requires that the small (size of a USA $0.25 coin) battery on the motherboard continuously feeds it some voltage. So, dead/dying battery means that the CMOS cannot "remember". Less than USA $2 to buy a replacement battery. With a tiny screwdriver, "pop" the old one old, and read the engraving on the "top", e.g., "CR-2032".Buy a matching battery, and push it in, so that the "top" is visible.

A:add second hard drive to 8200 elite sff

Well crap, now I have to re-type my reply.....I typed it in Notepad but it seems I can't copy and paste into this box. I agree with DFBonnett, the second drive only works on the BLACK connector, not the light BLUE. The way I got Win-10 to see the second drive was to go to  Computer Management, then under Storage, click Disk Management:  The drive showed up as Disk 1 but would not show up under the Explore program until I assigned a Drive letter to the Disk....MAGIC, the drive now shows as the assigned letter I gave it  "E"  with a label of Backup. I tried what erico posted but that didn't work but I thank all that tried to help. I give credit to Umbutu, it saw the drive without me having to do anything. Hey Microsoft, look what Linux can

Hello I ve read similar posts here and none really answered my question Since my circumstances are bit different I figured I d see if anyone had run into what I have this past week I have a Dell Dimension Windows Xp etc A few months ago it began to freeze up now and then not often - it was very gradual up at Dell won't power all 8200 Dimension It would freeze and I couldn t shut it down unless I unplugged it The on off button didn t do a thing even if held down for a long period of time I d unplug it and then plug it back in and it would not power on no sounds no fans no lights nothing The only lights would be on the mother board and the ethernet card I went online using my laptop and read somewhere I wish Dell Dimension 8200 won't power up at all I could recall that if you try Dell Dimension 8200 won't power up at all unseating the ram and plugging it back in that it might start back up I did Dell Dimension 8200 won't power up at all that and it worked Since then it s gotten worse and the last few times this has only happened about four times even unseating the ram would not help If it sat for a long period of time then suddenly I could power it up Now it s completely dead It froze the other night and we took out the ram and let it cool down and plugged everything back in and nothing Just the little green lights on the motherboard and ethernet card Nothing blinks on and then off no fans nothing We replaced the power supply and still nothing We did buy a new Dell power supply What could it be I believe the hard drive is fine What are the chances that it s the motherboard They aren t too expensive but I want to be pretty darn sure that s the problem before I buy one I was running several programs when it happened I have mb ram gb harddrive ghz processor Normally running several programs is nothing I figured the power supply would fix it This machine is heavily used and is never turned off unless there s a chance of lightning or we won t be home for a few days We do have power surges here I believe Our power goes out quite often But we didn t have any that night Any help is appreciated Lisa nbsp

A:Dell Dimension 8200 won't power up at all

It could be the processor or the motherboard and power surges could be part of the cause. In any case, i'd get it checked out by a shop or a technician.

I have an external hp cd writer 8200 that used to work just fine. I had a problem and had to restore everything on my system. Everything else works, but when I try to install my cd writer, it says that the driver can not be found. I have the original floppy disk with the driver on it, but device manager still cannot find it. I also tried getting the most recent driver from, but no luck. Any ideas?

A:Problem with HP cd writer 8200 driver

is the driver from hp on a floppy? if you are trying to install the driver in plug n'play sometimes it won't find the file and you have to find it yourself. If you have the hp driver just click cancell when prompted by plug n'play to install drivers and when you get to windows just execute the install file on the disk and it should install everything right.

I have a Dell model 8200 with 2.0 Mhz, 768 MB of RAM win XP Pro. I use this machine for all sorts of applications including gaming. I can upgrade my Intel P4 proccessor to a 2.8 with a PowerLeap kit that includes a fan and etc. Would my computer see a significant increase in speed if I did this? The upgraded proccessor costs $269.00 with the kit. I can also upgrade for $50.00 less without the kit. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. JJB

Hi all Well as I stated in the topic my Dell will not start up I ll give a little background The computer was bought as my main PC and a short while to months later I bought a laptop and hooked up a network using the Dell as my base station but used the laptop of the time One day I went to start up the Dell and it blue screened me and then after that I formatted the drive and re-installed Windows XP home It backed it up and started up once but now when it starts up it gives me Dimension Start? Get To Can't My 8200 Dell an error saying I think something about the PXE and a cable not plugged in But here is where it goes Can't Get My Dell 8200 Dimension To Start? bad now I can t get passed that even to re-install windows or format my drive and evertime I go into set up and set how it s supposed to start it does nothing still I ve tried everything from removing the CMOS jumpers and then putting them back etc I got it to back up one time not sure how I got to that screen but I got to a screen where I could go into safe mode Now it doesn t even recognize my hard drive and when it first starts and says quot IDE configuration quot it doesn t seem to set it it just goes to that error again and gives me options to choose from either F- or F- to set up F- brings me to this same screen and F- brings me to the set up screen I cannot hit the F- or key when starting windows as it gives me a keyboard error and shuts my keyboard down so I have no idea what to do Dell dimension RRAM quot Romulas Ram quot or something like that Think it was something new I ve never seen it since getting my pc gig hard drive cd cdrw drive floppy drive N I C card but is not set up for wireless like most are now Also when I had that blue screen problem I figured that my Microsoft Router I was using did not need to go through the PC for me being able connect to my laptop so I unplugged my router from my Dell and never used the network again just the router to my laptop from my broadband connection I was wondering if that could have caused any problems that I m having now Well I ll be checking to see if anyone has had any familiararity with this problem or any ideas on what I can do to get this damn thing started up Thanks all Jim Concord NH

A:Can't Get My Dell 8200 Dimension To Start?

What I believe the problem may be it the computer is attempting to boot from a network server. In you BIOS (F2 at boot) you will have PXE in the boot order. You need to remove it from the boot menu. PXE in a feature embedded on a chip on the NIC. It allows your computer to boot from a remote computer/workstation/server. This feature real has not application outside of a corporate setting. If you press Exc at boot you may see the PXE process shortly after the computer is turned on.PXE wiki

I am trying to install a PCI card to upgrade to USB 2.0 on my Dell 8200. I bought a card from Microcenter. The card box said it used VIA drivers.

When I installed it into the slot and booted up the plug and play feature of Windows XP didn't automatically install the drivers.
A disk came with the card, but I was unable to install the VIA driver from the disk. So I was left with 4 new USB slots that would only work at 1.1
USB speed.

A friend told me that the motherboards in the Dell Dimensions work well with USB 2.0 cards that have an NEC chipset.
Has anyone had any experience in installing a PCI USB 2.0 card that installed correctly using XP's plug and play functionality?
What brand card was used?? Thanks for your help

I want to change the motherboard on My Dell Dimension 8200 PC in order to upgrade the RAM and CPU. Do I need to change the casing as well? What else do i need to change?

A:How To Upgrade The Dell Dimension 8200

Hi mmlgoh,

I don't have that model but most of the time branded Desktop PC comes with pretty small casing. Thus, making your life difficult when you wants to upgrade some hardware. Thus, I suggest you to change to a more spacious casing. I'm not that sure about the spec's of 8200 but if it only support AGP and your new motherboard supports only PCI-e. Then you have to get a PCI-e graphics card too. I may be wrong somewhere, wait till other experts gives you their opinion.

Your post is difficult to follow. You might want to re-write it using sentences and punctuation and a clear description.

From what I can infer, you're planning to somehow install an operating system on this hard drive using another computer, and it isn't going to work.

Hello all,

I need a little help with a Dell inspiron 8200 laptop. I recently bought it from a computer auction. when I got it home I found the the bios is locked out and I get the following gray screen that says: This computer system, #48BR321-595b, is protected by a password athentication system...Please type in primary or administror password.

After reading a bunch of old (2005/06)posts on this site. I have a clouded idea what I need to do, BUT, one I can't seam to locate the EEprom to short out for starters. I also can't seam to locate the recommended password generator to crack the password.

Could someone help me out and point me in the right direction or provide me with some details on what i need to do.

Thanks a bunch,

Hi all I ve read so many things on this i dont even know 8200 Dell Inspiron Power where to look anymore It s the same problem that many of us had experienced I have a inspiron for reasons that i still dont know it recognizes my watt ac adaptor as a watt adaptor It runs on batter Dell Inspiron 8200 Power just fine However with the computer thinks that it only gets watt power supply the battery wont charge i ve heard that it can be fixed by replacing the motherboard but is just not in my budget right now I ve also read something about replacing the power source Here s something else i ve found a while ago quot If the laptop works on battery my guess is that the inline ceramic DC fuse is open This is a small oblong block be inch long inch high and wide surface mounted very near the AC adapter jack This can be bypassed with a suitable Dell Inspiron 8200 Power Picofuse be amps soldered across the conductive ends of the existing fuse case I would only look into this if the warranty is expired It is an easy fix be for the replacement fuse be for silver epoxy if it risky to solder in the area I ve done this on three laptops which are still functioning - only one with the epoxy I wish I knew the mechanism for the DC overload one of the laptops had a water spill the other two are mysteries to me quot I would attempt this if there was some sort of more quot cookbook quot instruction from anyone who has ever attemped the repair If someone can point out where i actually came across this posted aritcle that would be helpful Or if any of you had good experience with any reliable shop that could fix this for cheap please let me know Thanks nbsp

Is it possible to update graphics cards through driver software to support next minor revisions of software?

My GeForce 8200 supports OpenGL 3.2 (in desmume ds emulator) but does not support 3.3 (as required by dolphin gc and wii emulator).

OpenGL is apparantly a lot faster on AMD than DirectX 11 so that's why I want to use it with dolphin here, even though AMD processors aren't good for emulation compared to Intel, I'm too stubborn to upgrade this machine

So, with the GeForce 8200 (8-series) is possible to upgrade the driver to support v3.3 OpenGL? I don't want massive slowdown, especially as soon I am to do netplay on dolphin ~ does anyone else do emulation-related gaming on Vista here or not? I'd be happy to play some retro stuff
and don't troll about me using an emulator, I don't use dolphin for commercial games (yet) because I want to test out with opengl, only v3.0 has old opengl support and 3.5+ neeeds 3.3 opengl

A:NVIDIA GeForce 8200/OpenGL 3.3

I might be wrong but I don't think that has anything to do with drivers but what standard the card was designed for. That would equate to taking a directx 9 card and trying to make it work on 10 or 11.

I capture all of my media using a AverMedia PCI 300 video capture card, I can make dvd's using NeoDVDstandard4. I have made a couple of dvd's using regular 1x-4x cd/rw blanks (verbatim), my hp writer is also slow at only 1x-4x writing speed. Naturally the quality can only get as good as its original source. I can play those regular cr/rw disks on my home dvd player, although the quality is terrible, but on my pc it is much better. I am looking for more space a regular crd or crdw will not hold much when put into dvd format, would a blank dvd disk work with the hp 8200 writer? I don't try and capture video on the fly but rather download the file to my hard drive, edit it, and then put it to dvd. Any advice?
