I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:Weird boot up issue (details inside)

Im not trying to be funny, but... Are you still having this problem? If you fixed it then what are we trying to help you with? I mean its a Windows PC, sometimes this happens. This has happend to my PC and a cold boot or pressing reset is all it needed and it was fine. Now, if it hapens every time thats another story.

Regarding the Windows screen coming up, and then a few moments of a black screen before the login prompt or desktop display, that is a normal function. Nothing to fix there.

Hello every one.I am having a very wierd issue with my hard drive dissapearing.

When I Run a specific Bukkit Minecraft server (I have MANY servers with the EXACT same configurations and plugins;none of these have this problem) which is on my E Drive (Which is not a partition of my c drive)
my C drive usage will start having 100% usage spikes and after a few seconds the C drive stays at 100% usage
and then the E drive dissapears and won't reappear on the list until I restart the computer

P.S. When Firefox is open Firefox seems to be using the disk at 100% but when fire fox is closed the System process seems to be using the disk (or System Host (Peer Networking)Sometimes)

I'm currently running Avast and MalwareBytes, and will keep this topic updated, I hope I can fix this....

If anyone has any input please share.

*EDIT*

I'm hoping this was just a random fluke and I'm being paranoid about nothing. Both MalwareBytes and Avast have come up with absolutely nothing on my main drive, though I'm still scanning my backup drive.

*EDIT*

Weird, all those problems stopped on their own, guess it was just a fluke.

Hi and Welcome to bleeping computer!! My name is David Please do both of the following before we start if possible!:1) Please print off these intructions - they will be needed later when internet access is not available.2) Save these instructions in word/notepad to the desktop where they can be easily found for the same reasons as above. There is a bit to do on the log - i can almost guaruntee ewido will remove something - it's also a good free tool to keep in your arsenal! Please download ewido security suite it is a free version of the program.Install ewido security suiteWhen installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck.Install background guardInstall scan via context menuLaunch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.The program will now open to the main screen. When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files. On the left hand side of the main screen click update. Then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful") If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.ewido manual updatesOnce the updates are installed do the following:Click on scannerClick on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin. You will be prompted to clean the first infection.Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save reportClick Save report.Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.Close ewido security suite.Post a new HJT log and the ewido log at the end! Sounds like a hardware problem. Bad memory or motherboard. Do you have more than one stick of RAM? If so try running the computer with just one. Some motherboards are picky about which brand and type of RAM you use.

Hello A little background Around a year ago I had signed up for Private Internet Access which installs the TAP driver OpenVPN I believe I started to get blue screens on my machine Win Ultimate x so I installed it on a nd Windows machine identical OS Same thing As soon as I started the VPN blue screen I installed VirtualBox VM software same thing on both machines After trying various things I ended up sending the motherboard inside) After (details to VPN BSOD connecting back to ASRock It was a Z Professional They found nothing wrong but I BSOD After connecting to VPN (details inside) ended up doing a fresh install of Win and everything was great for about a year Then I started having machine lockups and found out that my SSDs Samsung EVOs were victim to the slowdowns that a lot of people were complaining about I tried upgrading the firmware and running their quot fix quot then the blue screens started to happen again this time at random times Removed the drives did a fresh install onto some WD Black drives and everything was working fine I thought the motherboard had finally crapped out as even with the onboard LAN ports the network icon would end up with a BSOD After connecting to VPN (details inside) yellow exclamation mark after about minutes of usage I had to use an add-on card to get it to work so I decided to just build a pretty much brand new system I just built it today ASRock Extreme ac Intel i - K brand new Gb G skill DDR new Samsung Pro apparently these drives did not have the same problems as the s new EVGA Tis in SLI cannibalized from my old machine Everything was going well I installed the old SSDs Gb EVOs and I went to install the OpenVPN driver via PrivateInternetAccess Connect to the VPN boom same Blue screen as I was getting on the old machine some time ago ndis sys see attachment The prior Blue screens were definitely not ndis sys related as they looked to be hard disk related it could not even write the minidump file So I am dumbfounded at the moment wondering if my router could be causing the blue screens I have a WNDR that's in front of my Verizon FIOS router it's being treated as the DMZ host The only thing that was the same was the video cards and even in the old machine I had a GTX before the Tis so I'm not convinced that would be the problem That and the fact that my former nd machine it's since gone over to being a linux server had the same issues a year or so ago same router makes me want to believe it's the router but before I trash it I'd like to get some expert advice from you guys Attached are separate crashes the first with both old SSDs attached then of them then the final one with just the new EVO Pro so as to eliminate the drives as the cause a chkdisk r f on them seemed to hang so I just disconnected them Thanks for taking the time to read I probably missed some details so please ask any questions you have Thank you

A:BSOD After connecting to VPN (details inside)

No one has any ideas either? I am stumped myself how this could happen. I tried connecting to a different router but with the same effect last night. Of course it's going through my FIOS router, but it kind of has to. I might try enabling the onboard Wi-Fi tonight and connecting via my phone's hotspot, I'm that much out of ideas.

A:My Graphics are Fawked!.. Help.. More details inside.

Did you uninstall the previous cards drivers ? You could also try uninstalling and re-installing the new cards drivers. Also make sure the graphics card your using is selected as the default device.
I imagine you have enough RAM to not be causing problems.
You could also try installing the latest version of Nvidia Physx from their website.

This error message appears after Windows XP tries to load.

"Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down."

I've tried rebooting in Safe Mode and Debugging mode. This message still appears. I've tried cleaning the inside, dusting it, putting a fan at it, and plugging it into different power sources. Still won't work.

I recently cleaned out a few viruses (VBS Solow and its variants), and this occurred after turning the computer on a few hours later.

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

A:Bios/PC can't find HD details inside

Have you tried a different power connector on the hard drive? Also try entering the hard drive parameters manually in the BIOS.

Good luck.

Kilowatt

On a side note, it is possible that the CMOS battery is dead. On some older machines if the battery goes the BIOS won't detect the hard drive.

i left it a few minutes and tried to switch it back on..

basically what happens is when i go to switch my pc on.. the fans start for like 1 second but then go back off.. soo it flicks on then off again..

A:SFC Details inside. How do I fix these corrupted files?

Hello JJ, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Here's a clean copy of those files from my system in the ZIP file below. After you extract (drag and drop) them from the ZIP file to your desktop and unblock them, the TIP box below will explain how to replace them in your C:\Windows\System32 folder.

 Tip
You will need to take ownership and set permissions to "Allow" your account "Full Control" of the original file in your current installation before you will be allowed to replace it with the extracted copy.

If the system file is in use and you are unable to replace it with the extracted copy, then: Open a Command Prompt at boot.
Do steps 4B to 4D in this tutorial first to verify the drive letter of your Windows 7 drive. It's not always C: at boot.
Type in the command below to copy and replace the original file with the extracted replacement file.
Copy /Y "full path of extracted replacement file" "full path of original Windows 7 system file"
For example:
If the extracted replacement uDWM.DLL is on my desktop, then I would use type this in the command prompt at boot and press enter.

Copy /Y "C:\Users\User-name\Desktop\uDWM.dll" "C:\Windows\System32\uDWM.dll"

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Tech guy at work suspected the video card. We replaced it with a new one and it still BSOD'ed

Initially when I am about to BSOD my display's will turn off. This is why we replaced the video card. Sometimes they come back on and I can proceed as normal, however when the audio cuts out I know it will then BSOD.

Once the audio cuts out or freezes on a note the BSOD will occur in about 10-seconds.

Thanks in advance dear gurus for all your help and consideration.

A:BSOD - Crashes randomly about once per day.. details inside

Security Software: ??? Make sure to install security software. I recommend either of these:Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows coupled with Malwarebytes. Do not start the free trial of Malwarebytes. Just use the standalone version, update it, and scan your computer once a week with Malwarebytes and with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Good and Free system security combination.

After installing your security software, update it, and then run full scans today with each program. Report back the results of the scans.
Crashes are DirectX/graphics card related. DirectX comes installed with Windows, so this may indicate Windows corruption. It may also be that you have corrupted drivers or a graphics card hardware problem.
If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

Check Windows for corruption. Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.
Follow the steps for Diagnosing basic problems with DirectX. To re-install your display card drivers as outlined in the DirectX link, use the following steps.
Download the drivers you want for your display card(s)
Click Start Menu
Click Control Panel
Click Uninstall a program
For AMD:Uninstall AMD Catalyst Install Manager if it is listed (this should remove all AMD graphics software and drivers)
If AMD Catalyst Install Manager is not listed, use the following method to uninstall the graphics drivers (this applies to onboard graphics, as well):Click Start Menu
Right Click My Computer/Computer
Click Manage
Click Device Manager from the list on the left
Expand Display adapters
Do the following for each adapter (in case you have multiple display cards)Right click the adapter
Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK

Alternatively:Login as an adminstrative user
Click Start Menu
Click Control Panel
Click Hardware and Sound
Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
Expand Display adapters
Do the following for each adapter (in case you have multiple display cards)Right click the adapter
Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK

Restart your computer after uninstalling drivers for all display cards
Install the driver you selected for the display cards once Windows starts

Remember to try multiple versions of the graphics drivers, download them fresh, and install the freshly downloaded drivers.

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash. As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds. Hello ZeCooL I would like to welcome you to the Malware Removal section of the forum.Around here they call me Gringo and I will be glad to help you with your malware problems.Very Important --> Please read this post completely, I have spent my time to put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier, faster and smoother for both of us!Please do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the "Follow This Topic" Button, make sure that the "Receive notification" box is checked and that it is set to "Instantly" - This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster.NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of heartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer.NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. To open notepad, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Please remember to copy the entire post so you do not miss any instructions. These are the programs I would like you to run next, if you have any problems with one of these just skip it and move on to the next one.-AdwCleaner-Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.Close all open programs and internet browsers.Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Click on Scan. After the scan is complete click on "Clean"Confirm each time with Ok.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer. You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.-Junkware-Removal-Tool-Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message. When they are complete let me have the two reports and let me know how things are running.Gringo

Hi, my ATMT MP3 player is completely unresponsive, however, the blue backlight is on with a central icon that usually appears when I'm loading music onto it. The icon is a tiny computer linked to usb or something. I had just added a song into the music_me file when my computer had problems and the MP3 window on the computer went white, so I disonnected the MP3 from my computer. It is now stuck on this screen and I have tried connecting it to my computer again and charging it and nothing is working. I am really concerned can anyone help????? This happened about half an hour ago. I would be grateful for any help.

Hi, recently installed a new cpu motherboard and graphics card. Reinstalled windows, and now the machine is crashing occasionally. It crashes anywhere between instant on start up or 40 minutes into browsing. I uploaded the zip file per your BSOD posting instructions.

I've done a little researching on my own and I think it may have to do with the Realtek audio controller conflicting with my nvidia graphics card in some way. Although since the computer is blue screening I'm hoping your diagnoses might help me figure out if that is actually the problem.

I recently lost over 500 episode of anime (about 100 gbs of info on my External Hard Drive). My DivX player (like Real Player) wasn't working so I downloaded it again and reinstalled it in the same place. It asked "Would you like to save over repeating files?" or something along those lines and i clicked "Yes to All". Somehow it deleted all of my anime episodes in the folders and now i really need help. Would anyone happen to know a software that is free i can use to get it all back, i am really pissed and i cant find anything without paying from 40$ and up... Oh yeah and if anyone knows any alternate ways to fix this please tell me that as well.

Just before blue screen i cannot move my mouse.

OK, firstly I'm not sure If I posted this in the right topic. But I tried. Anyway, my computers sound works fine (so I don't want many people saying things like "turn your speakers on" or "check the volume") because I can listen to downloaded media and itunes/windows media player. The problem is when I got to websites like youtube, and myspace. I can watch videos but no sound plays for either. Its getting quite annoying.

Please stay in contact with me until the problem is fixed.Below are a few tips:Removing Malware is usually very difficult. We need to search and analyse a lot of files. As this is done in our free time, please be patient especially if I don't answer every day! Please follow these instructionsIf you don't follow the instructions your computer may crash. If you fix your PC by yourself, this can be very risky! Please stay in contact with me until your problem is resolvedAs Malware may not be totally removed in one session or in one day, please stay in contact with me until the problem is resolved. Please don't run any other tools without consulting with me as this can complicate finding and removing all MalwareDon't run any tools while I'm fixing your PC. That is counter productive and again, will only complicate finding and removing all Malware!Read my post completelyIf you don't do so, you may make mistakes that could result in your System crashing by your own actions! Please download FRST (by Farbar) from the link below and save it to your Desktop.Download Mirror #1If you are unsure whether you have 32-Bit or 64-Bit Windows, see hereDisable all anti-virus and anti-malware software to prevent them inhibiting FRST in any way. Hello community of Bleeping Computer I have come to this forum for aid of a rather ongoing problem Yesterday the computer which I am currently using had a very terrible fan problem which was localized to the Graphics card After cleaning the fan out with some compressed air the fan problem was fixed albeit temporarily Ironically another problem has occurred Before fixing the fan the PC was running fine the programs ran under reasonable conditions with great response time Now any internet browser like FireFox or Internet Explorer is inoperable They will not start up To add most of the processes that I happen to run occur at a very sluggish pace like a snail crawling down a skyscraper Trying to load up pages details acting slow - Computer inside. on the internet or opening simple programs take minutes to open up This shouldn't be happening Is there anything I can do to fix this Computer Specifications Windows Home premium editionProcessor AMD Phenom II X Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD GBs or RAM Thanks for reading --Shotgun Nova

Please post a snapshot with Speccy for more system details -How to Publish a snapshot with Speccy <<-- Full Directions Here (only Copy / Paste the link)

Now a few quick cleaners -
Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.RKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/IExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/
Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
If using Vista or Windows 7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.
When the scan is done Notepad will open with RKill log.
Post it in your next reply.
NOTE. RKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R0].txt) will open in Notepad for review.
The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it.
If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.. If not press "Clean"
Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.
If an error is made, the items can be restored from Quarantine

Hey guys... I really haven't had this problem before. My internet is very good - DSL. For the last 2 days, it's been running VERY slowly - it's been taking one minute or more to load every webpage. Downloads that have went 140kb/s are now going 500bytes - 2kb/s. My Google customized homepage takes 2 minutes to load I've run a spyware/adware scan, and it's still not working. I really don't recall doing anything that might have caused this.

I am running Windows XP.

I WOULD post a hijack this scan, but the download goes SO slow, and in the middle of the download I get the following error message:
---------------------
Internet Explorer cannot download hijackthis.zip from downloads.subratam.org [or other download source]

An unexpected error has occurred.
---------------------

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

--------------------------------------------------------------------

With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have the Windows Recovery Console pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.
Go to Microsoft's website => http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994

Select the download that's appropriate for your Operating System

Download the file & save it as it's originally named.
Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

Drag the setup package onto ComboFix.exe and drop it.

Follow the prompts to start ComboFix and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Recovery Console.

At the next prompt, click 'Yes' to run the full ComboFix scan.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Now two things I must ask is what have you got set as boot device in the BIOS and is the large drive visible in diskpart?

If you want to back up then maybe an image is the best way to go see this

I have suddenly started to have numerous problems with my computer. here are the details of those problems (as best as I can describe in this frustrated state):

1.) cannot access task manager

2.) my computer keeps telling me that one of my drives has absolutely no space(which is not true). This problem is preventing me from being able to download norton anti-virus 2006, even when I try to select another drive to download to.

3.) some websites are suddenly not appearing correctly.

4.) When I try to go through the process as described on this forum to search my computer and remove some of the possible problems, I run into trouble every single step of the way. This includes when trying use any of the virus/spyware search programs. Likewise, I cannot even download hijackthis.

As a result, I have no idea where to even begin in fixing this problem. Any help will get immensely appreciated.

The laptop is an ASUS Vivobook, running Windows 8. Once I woke up it from sleep, and the screen was blank. The backlight was on, but the screen was black. So I held the power button, and then started it up again.
When it got past the BIOS screen, it then said "Configuring Windows Updates". It then got stuck at ~50%, rebooted, and then gave a black screen again.
After a force shut-down, it resumed the "Configuring Windows Updates", this time from 60%, and booted normally.
Is this normal, or should I ask for a replacement?

So I very recently built my own desktop, everything was running well. Installed window 7 Ultimate and from there tonnes of drivers and windows updates popped up, the usual. However, at decently spaced times it would BSOD, but it's become more and more frequent I've tried to see if it was the drivers, most if not all are up to date. There's no issue with the hardware, I've tried hunting through the dump files but I don't know what I'm looking for. Any help on fixing this would be amazing, I'm so tired of this uphill battle.

I managed to grab a quick pic of the BSOD, hopefully it helps, sorry about the flash.

As per the instructions I've attached the folder containing the dumps and other goodies. Anything extra you need from me, let me know.

Thanks,
Raserhead.

A:BSOD Random Times, Extra Details inside.

Upon some digging of my own while waiting, i discovered that there is apparently 2 things causing the issue through BlueScreenViewer, and have been consistent throughout all the BSOD's:

hal.dll
ntoskrnl.exe

I'll attach BSV's full details of the most recent one.

I've looked into some fixes but none of them have worked, would anyone here have an idea of how to fix this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Code:

Also go to command prompt and type in...

Code:
Chkdsk /f
If no luck go back to command prompt type in....

Code:
chkdsk /r
This scan will take time let it proceed be patient.

A:BSOD Randomly with Dual Monitors - Details Inside:

I have a similar problem and if you search 7970 dual monitor blue screen (or bsod) you'll see that its pretty common with the 7970, especially when running hdmi and dvi. I posted my dmp files here:
blue screen problem, BCCode: 116 - Microsoft Answers

and I've been told it was a problem with my virtu drivers (lucid virtu), which is causing direct x to crash.

I've heard the problem doesn't occur when using a display port connection and any other connection. Also amd just released ccc 12.6 beta which is suppose to help with the problem. I'm thinking I'm going to try the beta, if I don't have any problems I will let you know.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hi,

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)

This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.

This bug check is issued if paged memory (or invalid memory) is accessed when the IRQL is too high. The error that generates this bug check usually occurs after the installation of a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS.

1. Remove and replace ESET with MSE for troubleshooting purposes as it may very well be likely causing conflicts:

ESET removal - How do I uninstall or reinstall ESET Smart Security/ESET NOD32 Antivirus? - ESET Knowledgebase

MSE - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

2. Uninstall Open Hardware Monitor, really old and buggy drivers (2008).

3. Navigate to services.msc and disable the nVidia Streaming Service, and then restart the computer.

4. RTCore64.sys is listed and loaded which is RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner. This software is pretty infamous for being absolutely terrible, and causes a whole slew of conflicts with the original OEM GPU control panel. I'd uninstall ASAP.

If you're using it to control fan speeds, use SpeedFan instead.

Patrick

I built this computer a little over a year ago so i dunno why this is happening now...

When i open counter-strike and start playing, things seem fine, but then after 10 - 20 minutes of playing the game just freezes. Sometimes i get a BSOD, but sometimes i can just alt+F4 out and restart the game.

I almost always get a page fault in non-paged area and it gives me n4_disp.dll

Ive read the sticky and ran memtest+
I couldnt get past 70% after running the test twice for some reason...

here are 2 screenshots:
http://brawlnews.com/wp-content/1.jpg

the minidumps are attached.

My system specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ venice
2 x 512 PQI ram DDR400
250GB SATAII hd
NVIDIA Geforce 7600 GT
My mobo is an ASRock dual but i forgot which one...
i have a 400W FSP PSU...

anything else ive forgotten?

THANKS A LOT GUYS!!!!

"n4_disp.dll" is part of an Nvidia driver. Do you have an Nvidia video card? Does the motherboard have an Nvidia chipset?

A:Explorer.exe Crashes, attempts restart, crashes again. Details Inside

Are you running both AVG and MSE? If so, remove one or the other. Having two security programs that accomplish essentially the same tasks can cause conflicts due to them accessing the same system files or system resources simultaneously. It is possible this is the behavior that is causing your explorer.exe issue.

Please read like wot you rote - it don't make sense!

But for info:

One install disk = one installation = one licence.

Vista 64 only supports MS Windows 64bit applications (plus a very limited number of games) and very little else, and that's already assuming your PC hardware is 64bit throughout. The performance difference between 32 and 64bit in practice is negligible, there are other factors to take into account.

Hey,

This is my first post on this forum and as the title says my Windows 7 files might be broken, atleast according to CMD -> sfc /scannow.

Could someone help me out a bit?

How can I re-associate .mp4 files with video details displaying in the Details Pane? After installing the K-lite codecs pack, my mp4's all began displaying in the details pane as audio files (Album, Artist etc) and no longer displays the important video default details (size, frame height, bitrate etc). I assume it was because of incorrectly associating file types when installing the codecs (even though wmv's, avi's are still correct), so I uninstalled the codecs but the Details categories remain for typical audio files. I've exhausted The Google and I'm stumped... any help? (Win7, 32-bit with VLC as my default player) Thanks!

Not odd, really. All the programs do that, and it does suck.

See the information about Startup folders in the Word Troubleshooting described at www.theofficeexperts.com/word.htm
Remove the files from your Word Startup folder.
You may also need to go to Start-Settings-Printers and remove it as a printer.
