Yoga touch screen generates random touch while lid...

Q: Yoga touch screen generates random touch while lid...

Hello nbsp My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station nbsp screen generates touch while random touch lid... Yoga Its lid is closed nbsp During my work from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen and random opening of menus nbsp It is clear that the touch screen is active Yoga touch screen generates random touch while lid... although the lid is closed nbsp When I open the lid and still connected just to the nd display large screen display the phenomena stops nbsp Worth noting is that although only the nd display shows an image the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch nbsp This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers nbsp I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the nd screen nbsp The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable nbsp Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch nbsp nbsp A solution please nbsp Yaron

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, Since installing Windows 10, I am unable to use any functions of the touch screen.  I had a lot of trouble with the mouse pad not deactivating with the button (as I use a plug in mouse most of the time) but I managed to sort that by uninstalling the driver and reinstalling direct from Lenovo. However, the touch screen is making me come to my wits end.  I just cannot for the life of me sort it.  Windows tell me that "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display" Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I've looked through previous topics and there don't seem to be any from the past few months on this topic. In short, the touch screen is completely unresponsive. I've checked the device and it is enabled. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this? I've had the laptop for three days, and this the first time I've tried to use it, if that matters.

My X1 Yoga's touch screen is not being detected by Windows. I tried running the Wacom firmware update tools suggested by other threads but they don't work -- the log file just says "No device". Neither finger touch nor pen work at all. I updated the bios and system interface foundation, didn't help. See attached picture for device manager. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Our Yoga has totally and completely stopped responding to touchscreen inputs. Completely out of the blue, no warning signs. Don't know if it was recently after a Win10 update. No other problems with the computer. I've tried updating all HID drivers through Device Manager with no success either. Any suggestions for what to check before we call it a hardware failure and try to either replace the screen or the laptop?

I have started using the touchscreen on this new Yoga 700 and I liked it at first, but I noticed that while scrolling, pages often open by accident...and it happens often. It ruins the experience.   How do I make it less sensitive? Should only open when i push , not swipe. I want to roll through the page and only select and open things i want to be opened.  Also, is there a way to not show the pointer finger icon? I dont really want to see that.

It's weird that in the page, it is too sensitive, but when i switch tabs up top, i have to push harder to activate that and sometimes it doesnt work on first tap. Must need to change settings or something. Where do i go to tweak those settings?

A:Yoga 700 - Touch screen - a bit too sensitive

Hi GM,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.
You can adjust the touchpad sensitivity using the following steps:

Press Windows Key + X
Select Control Panel
Click View by, then select Small icons
Select Mouse, then click the furthest tab on the right (should be labelled Elan or Device Settings)
You should have an option to adjust sensitivity in this menu.

I hope this information is helpful.

Regards,
Shashi Kumar

Hi All, I just bought an 11" Yoga 710 and have an intermittent problem with the touchscreen coming unresponsive. Its normally ok when I start the machine up, but after a while the screen will come unresponsive so I switch to notebook mode and then most of the time it will come back after a few minutes. I've done a search and tried some of the tricks posted a few years back, turn power management off some of the HID items and disabling them as well. None appear to be a solution.I can provoke the unresponsive ness by opening Facebook in Edge, but it has also happened on other webpages and also when using Spotify.Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a Yoga 11e and recently installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise on the device.  After installation the touch screen was no longer functoning at all.  I have downloaded every Chipset, Mouse and Key Board, Software and Utility driver found on the Lenavo website.  When i go to the device manager under Human Interface Devices I have two yellow triangles for I2C Device and when I click on Proerties they both tell me " This device is currently waiting on another device or set of devices to start. (Code 51)". I have installed the GPIO drvier from the lenavo website as per other posting about non-functioning touch screens.  This has not repaired the problem.  I need some assistance or a driver for the touchscreen.

Hello, I recently upgraded the mechanical hard drive that came with my Yoga 11E to an ssd. I ran Lenovo system update and then Windows Update. But the touchscreen is not working. Under device manager there are a few exclamation points. Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 entries for I2C HID both have a warning. I tried to update them but it says they driver is update and the exclamation point remains. I am not sure if this is the reason why my touch screen is not working but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I am having the same problem. After reimaging, touch screen is not responding. I too checked device manager and found there are 2 human interface device drivers with exclamation points, named I2c HID. A search found Intel device drivers on Lenovo support site and  I downloaded and installed the drivers (n15hc03w.exe). The status of the drivers on device manager did not change. I tried to update these drivers and pointed to the local folder drivers\win\I2C onbut got a message saying "drivers for device are up to date' . Tried 'scan for hardware' still no change to these Human Interface Device. Any ideas?

Hi, I have recently (Dec 2015) purchased a Yoga 11e. The touch screen function has stopped working. Both Windows 10 and Lenovo Support apps say that all updates are in place. I suspect that a Windows update (~31 Jan 2016) might be the fault - could be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks. ps: I tad annoying the the "worlds biggest computer company" (or similar publicity claim) does not have a 24/7 web chat support function

I had the same problem.  After performing a clean-install of Windows 10 Pro (Did not like all that blotware that Lenovo puts in these systems) and "thinking" that I had installed all drivers, I found that touchscreen did not work.  I solved it by RE-installing the i2c drivers (downloaded from Yoga 11e support page).  It was confusing because there was nothing in Device Manager that indicated any drivers were missing, plus when I ran the .exe file for the i2c drivers all it did was "extract" the files, but it did not install anything! So here is how I went about it:  Opened device manager, clicked on "system devices" to locate the i2c device.  I looked for anything with "i2c" in it, and saw 2 entries: "Intel Atom Celeron Pentium Processor............i2c........[etc, etc]".  I went ahead and manually installed the drivers: right-clicked the item, clidked "update driver software", clidked "browse my computer for driver software", and navigated to where the driver files had been extracted to-as explained above.  After the drivers were installed successfully, the names of the devices changed to "i2c controller".  Rebooted the computer and VOILA! The touch screen worked again! Opened "control panel", "system" and there it said: "Touch Support With 10 Touch Points"

I have ben dealing with problems with this touch screen since I got the laptop.  It has been continuously ghosting, while it got better after the June update, it still ghosts without touches, until you start using the touch screen.  When using the touch screen it starts drawing gray lines in between the point im touching and the point its ghosting to (the lines arent always direct). I recently wiped my the drive, reimaged to a backup from april and tried reupdating it.  When I got to the touch screen drivers, I got through the initial setup and told it to open the update when finished but the machine froze.  Now when I try to reinstall, I get to the finish page on the update tools install, have it open the updater, but the program immediately closes.Any help would be much appreciated.

A:Yoga 11s touch screen issues (when folding)

Follow-up for #1If I fold the screen in (<90 degrees) and view the computer properties, it say "Full Windows Touch Support with 10 Touch Points"If I fold the screen back to regular laptop mode, it says "No pen or touch input available" If I fold/unfold the screen while viewing the Device Manager, I see the # of Human Interface Devices change from 3 (at folded out) to 7 (while folded in)

Three times when Windows 10 has done its updates, the touch screen has quit working on my Yoga 3. The first time, tech support had me remove several drivers which did not solve the solution, but caused the computer to no longer work. After restoring the system all worked well, but a few weeks later when the touch screen no longer worked again. Once again, the only solution tech support could offer was to restore the system, which I did again. After reinstalling all my apps, all was well until the next update. Now I again no longer have a touch screen. It's a big chore to reinstall all programs. I don't really want to do it again. Anybody else had problems like this. Is this a hardware problem in this particular computer? I can't find others with the problem.

Hi everyone, I am experience a lot of problems with the touch screen on my Yoga 3 14. At least once a day I am getting ghost touches, i.e. it starts thinking that the screen is being pressed when it isn't. It closes windows, opens the keyboard and types, etc. I've noticed it mostly in laptop mode, but that may be because that's how I use it most of the time. For now I resort to putting it into hibernation or having to do a full reboot, and it fixes it for a while but always starts up again. It happens in different places on the screen, usually just one at a time but occasionally multiple touches. I've had the laptop for 2 months and have had the problem since week 1 or 2.  Is there any solution to this besides calling support and having them replace the screen/other parts?

A:Yoga 3 14 Ghost touches on touch screen

hi hucktopia,

Welcome to the Forums.

Your problem might be similar to this thread.

If you barely use the Touchscreen to navigate around, can you try these steps to disable the feature:
1. Press the Windows key? +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter (this should open the Device Manager).
2. On the Device Manager, click View > Show Hidden Devices and under Human Interface Devices section, uninstall the HID-compliant device touch screen (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).
    - Sample image

3. When finished, reboot the system and observe.

If the above procedure works, you should be able to use the system normally but I recommend that you report the issue by contacting lenovo support.

That fix doesn't work anymore. I'm really frustrated by this - not even restoring windows to factory default fixes the problem. I've looked online for many hours on this issue and pretty much tried everything suggested. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi guys nbsp nbsp So I have had a yoga screen "bubble" issue 13 Yoga touch for about a year now love it however I have come across a minor issue that started occuring about - months ago When I open up my yoga from sleep mode nbsp hibernation turn it on or restart my everything works for a couple of seconds and then randomly bubbles with about a half inch diameter start popping up usually in a horizontal fashion across my screen from about an inch down from the top of the display These are the bubbles I am referering to are the visual effect when a finger touches the screen and expand into boxes Yoga 13 touch screen "bubble" issue when the touch is held for roughly a second or longer However these rogue bubbles seem to spawn without cause or warning and resultingly keep me from controlling my cursor with my track pad touch screen or an external mouse once they appear It is also worth noting that when I made my yoga purchase I also more for family members neither of their yogas share this complication nbsp Though this case might seem drastic however in reality it is small and somewhat trivial as I have found a trick that by rubbing my finger around on the touch screen eradically the bubbles dissapear and release my cursor from the binds of their possession The problem is solved until the lid closes sleep hibernate shut down or restart at which I am required to rinse and repeat this pesky process nbsp With that in mind I am seeking help suggestions solutions and possibly an exorcist for my problem I have a image taken from my iphone demonstrating the situation however I will post that at the discretion of the forum mods or respective savior I'm looking to solve this problem before late Janurary when my get outta jail free card insurance Yoga 13 touch screen "bubble" issue policy ends Join the good fight and help me send these bubbles back to the demonic portal from which they came from nbsp nbsp Edit nbsp It is also worth noting I have tried disabiling the ymc feature nbsp Cheers Gan Bei Proost salute

Hi I have bought Lenovo Yoga 500 14 i3 six months ago. Several months ago on the left side of the screen appeared ghost touches. This ghosts touches were exactly on one line of the screen, it is about 6 centimetres from right edge. I went to warranty center and they changed the screen. Two months has passed. And exactly in the same screen line touch screen stoped to work. If to put laptop in 360degree mode - everything works ok.Here is the video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xnz_L_11f8Actually I am begining to want my money back.

A:Lenovo Yoga 500 14 Touch screen issue

Hi there, Alex -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Regarding the ghost punches/ghost touch, there were some isolated issues for that issue on some Yoga 700, in addition to that, there is also a fix for it. Please see this thread.
Can you try the following?

Under theDevice Manager> Human Interface Devices, can you do a right click and disable on anything that says HID-compliant device (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).
When finished, reboot the system and observe if you still get the same issue.

Update us how it goes.

In response to customer reports of intermittent touchscreen function failure on X1 Yoga (Type 20FQ and 20FR) after resuming from sleep or when the lid is opened or closed, Lenovo has made a solution via touchscreen firmware available via download from the Lenovo Forums.

The beta touchscreen firmware can be downloaded from this Lenovo Forums link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/X1-Yoga-Type-20FQ-and-20FR-Touchscreen-Firmwa...

Hi all, I bought an 14" Yoga 710 and have problems with touchscreen from the first start up. After powering on, touchscreen works well for a while but after stopping to touch for just 5-6 seconds it is coming unresponsive. When it comes unresponsive i press in an area constantly right click function works and also touchscreen works well again for a while. It seems that after staying inactive for a couple of seconds it comes to an unresponsive state. I did lots of things (calling lenovo support, recovering Windows 10, HID driver deleting, updating, disabling, turning power management off HID items, turning to default bios setting) but nothing changed. Does anyone have any ideas? Lenovo could you please provide a solution for this? Best regards

Hi,So, this just started happening on my 3 month old YOGA 500 - The touch screen stops working every couple of hours. Each time it stops i go to the Device Manager, and under Human Interface Devices i can't find either HID-compliant touch screen or USB input device. The problem resolves each time after a hard reset (and the devices appear in the device manager), then reappears after 2-3 hours. The system is: Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK, Windows 10 1511 build 10586.164Any idea what's going on?Thanks,Vlad.

A:Lenovo yoga 500 - touch screen keeps disappearing ...

Hey there, I have a 2 month old Yoga 500-14ISK and I had the same issue. The temporary wokaround for me was to search in device manager under "USB controllers" and when the touchscreen died there would be a USB device with "Device Descriptor Failed" next to it in the USB section. Disabling that device and then re-enabling it would make the touchscreen work again. To completely fix the issue, I had to use a factory reset with the Novo button (pinhole next to the power button) and since then despite wiping the OS of my settings and apps, now I've updated all drivers and such again and I've had no further problems with the touchscreen.

I recently discovered a vertical band where the touchscreen is half-dead in a vertical band.  If I draw horizontally quickly over the vertical band, it will draw over.  However, drawing vertically and drawing slowly horizontally over the dead area is not detected.  Refer to the picture where the white space is between the two orange lines.    I'm using my finger (touch input).  The screen is Wacom ready but I don't have a Wacom pen. Any suggestions?

I've just reinstalled Windows 10 on this laptop and the touchscreen no longer works or is recognized. The device manager does not even list a touch-device under human interface devices, and the settings app reports that Pen & Touch is unavailable. Since the latest windows 10 update, my touch screen has been disabled. I've scoured the forums and tried things listed here for similar devices, with no success. The closest I've gotten is locating my HID-compliant touch screen driver (HIDDEN) and attempting to update it (fail) and uninstall it (no effect). The only USB devices I've used on this machine are thumb drives and cell phones for charging. I am at a loss as far as how to reenable the touch screen. I bought this Yoga 11e (20D9) in December 2014 and Windows 8.1 was installed as default. From last Friday, 29th May 2015, touch screen has stopped responding totally. For six months, there was no fall or damage or even a scratch in / outside of the laptop. After trying all the possible suggestions found in this forum and the other web sites, I have reset it to factory default - fully removed everything and installed Windows. And then all the Windows Updates and also Lenovo Updates completely. Still the touch screen is not working or responsive at all. I think I did all things I can try. Now I am about to claim warranty service.Last Decempber, I decided to buy this Lenovo products which I had believed as the most reliable laptop, but it does not have  that much good quality after all.

A:Yoga 11e (20D9) Touch Screen NOT Working or Respon...

Screen was cracked so I replaced the screen. Now touch doesn't work.
There is no "Pen and Touch" and "Tablet PC Settings" in Control Panel. In PC info it says, "No pen or touch input is available for this display."
Touch DOES work on LINUX as I ran it from a usb drive, so it is not a hardware problem.
I have reinstalled Windows.
I have another Yoga 2 Pro and comparing Device Manager in both I see no differences.
How can I get the touch to work again?

A:Why doesn't my Touch work after replacing the screen on my Yoga 2 Pro?

try refreshing your PC maybe the driver is not working properly
If the touchscreen does show up on the device manager try updating the driver from there. (it will be listed under HID )
Otherwise To refresh your PC Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)Tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click Recovery.Under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, tap or click Get started.Follow the instructions on the screen.

A:Lenovo S210 Touch broken LCD and Touch screen

Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.

Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.

If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.

I hope this links helps you.

Hello @JeffJadoo, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! The Forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I understand that you are having an issue with the Touch Screen, and wanted to assist you! Did the notebook originally ship with Windows 10?  How did you go about formatting the notebook, and installing Windows 7?  You may be able to use the Recovery Manager to restore the drivers, however, based on how you installed Windows, the Recovery Partition may already be removed.  You can also try reviewing the following document, to see if the information helps: HP Notebook PCs - Touch Screen Issues (Windows 8) Please post back with the results.  It is possible that the Touch Screen may not be supported for Windows 7 on that particular notebook. Please let me know if this information helps you resolve the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution", this will help others easily find the information they may be looking for.  Also, clicking the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thanks! Have a great day!

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Check the Touch funtionality in OKR environment.
Turn off the computer and Turn it back on and right away start tapping F2.
Select Recovery. Once in the Recovery screen Test the touchscreen by touching any of the option if it will respond.

If the touchscreen works in OKR Environment, I suggest you perform a One key recovery (expect dataloss).

If the touchscreen still did not work in OKR Environment, I suggest you call Lenovo Technical Team for assistance.

Regards
Solid Cruver

I have a kiosk on which I've just installed 8.1 pro. It has an oem touch screen manufactured by General touch (p/n st6001u). I've installed the driver and it seems to work but Windows still says "no pen or touch available". My customers using the
kiosk will need to type on screen in addition to just clicking. Is there any way to for the OS into touch mode? I believe under 7 there was an option in Windows features but I can't seem to find anything on 8. Google has been no help.
Any ideas?

My client told me this was a touch screen, so that is what I ordered.  HP 749970-001 touch screen display assembly. It is installed, but not recognized.  In order to use it as a touch screen, would I have to replace the motherboard too?Is there a driver available?  The display works, it is just not working as a touch screen.

So I have got a Lenovo Y50-70 with 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display for about two years now. I've accidentaly dropped my backpack, while the laptop was in it and cracked it's screen so I need to replace it. The screen in the cracked part is working as it was working before the accident, the crack is on the glass. So I was wondering if I can replace my 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display with a 15.6" 1920x1080 FHD Non-touch Display? Is it possible?I've read that whether screen you are changing, its working depends on the quantity of pins on the Video signal connector.

Yesterday I was on my laptop and before I shut it down it went into what looked like a different mode. I booted it up this morning and it is still in this mode. It looks like touch screen mode but I do not have a touch screen.  The icons on the task bar are spaced out and there is a back button on the task bar too which is not normally there. When i right click against the task bar, one of the buttons says "Show touch keyboard button".  All of my files are spead out as if to have room for touching if I had a touch screen but I do not. I am finding this very annoying because I cannot get onto my desktop properly and is not in the right mode. Please help!

A:New X1 Yoga, no touch functionality

Hi Msbenz,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Open your Start menu (or press the Windows Key) and simply type ?Services?. There will be an icon at the top of your list which appears to be two small gears with the name ?Services.? Click that and look what happens next.
there is a permanent fix for this issue by disabling the service called ?TabletServicePen? if you?re using an Intuos/Bamboo or ?Tablet PC Input Service? if you?re using a Cintiq.

In some case, it is reported removal of the wacom touch drivers fixed the problem. That would be under device manager.

If you have a persisting issue after the updates of the drivers and would also have same error codes from the online diagnostics, then best to call Lenovo service center for recommendations.

Please let me know your findings.

Shashi

Hi

There is no "nice" option to disable touchscreen, for what I read you need to disable it from the Windows Device Manager.

It is like: Open Device Manager > expand "Human Interface Devices" > right-click "HID-compliant touch screen" and select "Disable".

Check if you find the correct "Human Interface Devices" to disable. This is how users are disable the touchscreen.

I'm at my wits end with windows 8 / 8.1. I'd really love to install windows 7. I googled, and discovered that there are enough drivers out there to get win 7 to work.. but no mention of whether touch will continue to work. If You can keep touch, can someone point me to where the driver is to do so? Or what steps I have to do to get touch working in win7 for the yoga 13. Thanks in advance!

A:Yoga 13 with with windows 7 - Keep touch working?

I did this to a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro: There should be up to three folders to look for in the root of the hard drive. SWTOOLS - Has a lot of the additional software driven components, Drivers - The factory default driver set (many of which will work in Windows 7), and an additional SW***** (something, can't recall of the top of my head). Back up these three folders on an external drive of some kind. Copy the factory restore items off as well, just in case to an external.Next, create the QDrive or Factory Restore disks for the machine. If you don't like Windows 7, at least this way you can get back to 8/8.1.The next is really up to how you want to install Windows 7. I used the ImageX approach, creating a Windows 7 Ultimate source machine with all of the software, drivers, and applications installed. I generalized that machine, captured out the Windows 7 build (which had all of those folders we copied from above). I then used the ImageX Apply method to put that generalized .wim image to the Lenovo.I had to put the BIOS into Legacy mode, and enable USB Boot. I booted from a WinPE 3.1 environment using a bootable USB I created for Enterprise deployments.Notice, I am skipping a LOT of details. Like what is a WinPE, how to make one, what is a .wim file and how to handle the boot partitions. If you are technical savvy you can save a lot of hassle and get Windows 7 onto the machine. If not, skip the whole ImageX and try to boot from an install DVD and do the build up from the external drive as you go. sysprep of a second machine just gives you one last out, in case something fails to be compatible. In my case, touch screen, and just about everything except the G-Sensors/Screen Rotation Lock button worked on a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.

I am having continued problems with the so-called "ghost touches" on my brand new Yoga 700. And I would add that this is the second brand new one I have had, as I had to return the first one due to a significant hardware problem.  I have seen this problem discussed with respect to the Yoga 3, and I saw a proposed solution, which had something to do with updating the firmware. I did that, but the problem persists. Any help would be much appreciated. For what it's worth, the ghost touches do not appear unless I have had my laptop open for a little while (at least an hour, typically). Thanks

This has been hinted around in several other YOGA Pro 3 WIN 10 upgrades but we probably need to start splitting out each particular issue. My upgraded to Win10 with no issues on the upgrade itself. I performed the upgrade with a mouse attached and now I no longer an switch back to using the touch pad. Another way to say it is that my Fn + Delete button no longer works. I checked Synaptics for a driver but they don't list one for Win10. Any one know a work around to get the touch pad working again or a suggestion to fix? Thanks

So bit of a curious problem, and also one that I can replicate rather consistently: When going between pen and touchscreen use, there is a period of time during which touches are not registered. In laptop mode this is approximately half a second. In tablet mode it's anywhere between 5 and 15 seconds. Anyone see this issue before? Anyone know any good diagnostic techniques (and please don't just tell me to update the drivers. Theyre all updated.) This has been an issue for nearly half a year now, however I've only recently found real use for the machine in tablet mode, hence why I am taking action now rather than half a year ago.

Haven't updated your laptop's trackpad driver lately? Then you may well want to consider doing so, at least if your laptop is equipped with a Synaptics trackpad. As a user on the Hardware Zone forums discovered, the latest Synaptics driver seems to enable multitouch gestures on older laptops that didn't previously support them, including two-finger scrolling, and three-finger click. What's more, while the drivers themselves come from HP, they should work just fine on other laptops with a Synaptics trackpad. Hit up the link below to try it out for yourself.
