Preferred Solution: Nvidia display settings are not available

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I m convinced what I want to happen is possible but no matter how much tweaking I do I can t ever seem to get it right I ve got a Nividia Geforce card Running in dualview I want to be able to spark up mediaplayer powerdvd and the video play in full screen on settings Nvidia display the TV but in windowed format on the monitor Ideally I d like Nvidia display settings to collapse the monitor s window completely but when I do this the video hangs on the TV even tho the sound continues Also windows mainly dialogs keep popping into the TV display when I open them and I want them to only appear on my monitor Other times the video plays full screen on the monitor and makes the TV what I presume is the primary display It can be the case that if the TV is not the primary display then videos won t play AT ALL on the TV but run in the mediaplayer window I m really struggling to get this to happen all at once I seem to have to compromise on one aspect or the other but my system must be able to handle it because I did at one time though I have no idea what I did have this happen on a P with a Geforce MX so my P should be able to eat this up I m running all the latest drivers so it s a case of fiddling with the settings but I m going round in circles Any help would be hugely appreciated nbsp

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get my Nvidia Display settings to save under the Change Display Configuration panel and every time I reboot they seem to revert back to regular settings under another resolution.

I am using a laptop with a LCD monitor and I'm trying to get the "Only use one display (Single)" setting to stick, and it works when I hit apply but after the reboot it gets removed back to (Clone).

If anyone would be able to assist me that would be great.

Thanks

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium bit and seem to be having a problem with the graphics drive problem nForce NVIDIA 430/display settings GeForce 6150SE Under Device Manager I do have an exclamation point besides NVIDIA GeForce SE nForce under Display Adapters When I click on it and select 'Check for Solution' in the General tab I get a window that says 'could not load driver software ' When I select 'Update Driver Software' Windows determines that the driver software is up to date There's no driver to roll back to and when I uninstalled it and then restarted my computer it reinstalled but the exclamation point is still there I did go to nvidia com and have them automatically find drivers Version was installed which gave me a NVIDIA settings icon in the toolbar that when left clicked says quot NVIDIA display settings are not available You are not currently using a device attached to an NVIDIA GPU quot No idea what that means I'm not even sure if this matters or if it's the cause of NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430/display settings problem the problem with the screen resolution I'm having I have a HP x display NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430/display settings problem with recommended settings of x - Hz and last week after restarting after an update I want to say it was a HP Portrait update I turned on the computer and the display settings had changed x isn't an option in Display Settings and it looks off at its current x the only setting that isn't impossibly big or way too small When I right click on the desktop screen and go to HP Display - gt Tune Display it says 'This version of My Display is not supported on the current display My display will only work on HP enabled displays ' There were two updates but after installing them it still says the same thing To be honest I don't know what it said when the screen resolution was correct it's just something I noticed while trying to the display settings I don't have a system restore point to roll back too should anyone suggest that They're all recent and after the problem showed up Are there any fixes for the NVIDIA drive and or display settings Thanks in advance

I would sign up here:

HP Business Support Center

and download the original drivers that came with the machine.

It says "business" support but it's free with volunteers like here. It's not a paid support.

"You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU."
That happens when I try to access the control panel.
What does this mean? Was I correct in assuming that my laptop wasnt using the NVIDIA video card?
Is there any way to fix it to be able to access my NVIDIA control panel?

A:"NVIDIA Display settings are not available."

Hi,

I will suggest to uninstall GPU drivers and install the latest (if beta is available, install that one) drivers for your Nvidia GPU.
Check on Lenovo site, if they have drivers for your system. This Link might have the drivers needed.

Hello Overson, welcome to the forum

Windows update does not necessarily install the newest drivers . If you are having no problems with the driver 266.58 then I would stay with that one

Hello everyone,

Windows XPpro

I have an NVIDIA settings icon on the right hand side of my task tray.

If I click on it, I can see various options for changing desktop settings etc.

Under desktop manager it is disabled.

I was trying to find out more about it, as I am a little confused.

I cannot find it installed via Programmes.

Just wondered if I should be making more use of this.

Thanks

A:Solved: NVIDIA Settings

Hi, Here is some info:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/feature_nview.html

It's primarily for multi-monitor systems and has been seen to cause problems for some.

http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_8.html

The icon in the right hand tray is OK, I use mine without any problems, but that is under win98se...
The settings icon is part of the video driver.

Any particular setings in the control panel that I should be using I set my v-sync to force on and now in the gpu burn in I get a steady frame rate of fps rather than fps which it was running at before so what you might ask well thing is even with post FX applied and X multisampling turned on my GPU load was only I have read that really you should use Kombustor to ascertain whether your video card is stable firstly at stock frequencies but also at any overclock frequencies and that the tests should relate to what your usage would be well surely V-sync is a good thing for that as anything above the V-sync frame rate is just a waste as your monitor cannot display it and its stressing your GPU far more and MSI Nvidia settings Kombustor than is needed In previous testing the GPU load went upto which is fair enough you are pushng the card as far as it can and being sure it is stable but in the real world when your running your games the speed of your monitor is the limitaton In my case a x p HDTVat HZ therefore my usage will ever only require that frame rate as I say anything else is a waste your graphics card is working hard but your moniitor cannot display it I know some monitors are hz and some hz but at full load on Nvidia settings and MSI Kombustor the GPU my card was giving FPS which is higher than most will ever need to go So another question is testing this way a good thing To me if my graphics card can do the job using rather Nvidia settings and MSI Kombustor than needing then V-sync is a good idea to turn on plus it will surely extend the life of your card

A:Nvidia settings and MSI Kombustor

If you're benchmarking, I'd say turn off v-sync, as you'd really want to see what your card is capable of, not whether it tears, right? I'm not familiar with Afterburner so I couldn't help you tweak anything, sorry.

If you're playing games, though, I'd enable it if you never see fps below your refresh rate. If you play a game that's borderlining on your refresh rate at some points, or perhaps frequently, enable triple buffering if possible. If the frames would ever drop below your refresh rate with v-sync enabled and triple buffering disabled, it'll divide the refresh rate by a whole number, which could instantly half your frame rate, but with triple buffering enabled, your gpu would be keeping extra prerendered frames in yet another back buffer, giving it more to do instead of wasting time waiting for the screen to refresh.

I have no idea about v-syncing making your gpu last longer or not, though I'd surmise if it's generating less heat then it would take longer to degrade.

NVIDIA GT 240 Is not holding his settings in Windows 10 after reboot.

Latest drivers are installed

Robbie

A:NVIDIA GT 240 not holding his settings

What settings are you talking about? Resolution? Try installing latest driver from nVidia's site and it should work. If you have an old driver Windows Update will try to replace it and restore the default settings. This also affects resolution.

Just wondering what the best settings are for Windows Media Center and IE8/IE9.

I have a GTX460 1GB and a 3Ghz Quad Core i7 CPU.

Here is what I am talking about:

I put everything to quality, but I dont really know what I am doing, so any help would be appreciated...

A:NVidia settings for best picture quality?

Its usally fine to just leave as it is as even viewing hd content is pretty easy for a 460 so no matter what you put it on it shouldnt affect it, maybe give it prioty over other programs, putting it all on max/quality wont hurt tho.
With ccc i just let the appliction choose.
I higly doubt with a system like that it will make any difference what settings you choose as it is quite high powered.

Hi,
im gonna make this quick.

On windows XP i could adjust my colour settings such as contrast e.t.c *they remained permanent and ingame*
I now have windows 7, i still can do the same but when i enter game the colours goes to default and when i exit the game it remains Default.

The games looks so better with more contrast, any way to make this work in any game and permanent?

I'm running Beyond TV on my Windows XP Pro computer. I'm using an NVidia GeForce4 MX440 plugged into my TV set. Everything works great. Except...my on screen display overscans by about 30%. Not the TV picture, mind you, the OSD. I can adjust it using their software controls and it's fine until a reboot. I've tried saving the profile and it lets me save it as anything I want. But the profiles don't work even after they've been saved. I've tried logging in as admin and saving profiles. Same problem.
What can I do to get the settings to be saved as default?

Hi!
I have Nvidia GeForce GT 130M graphics card on Asus N51Vf (Intel Core2Duo T9550 2,66 GHz, 128 GB Sandisk SSD, 4 GB DDR2 Ram) notebook.

I usually surfing internet with Google Chrome, doing some office works and programming with Java on Windows 8.1 64-bit. I don?t play games. I want to adjust 3D settings for Google Chrome to rendering webpages as possible as fast and watch stream videos without lags. Also I want to adjust this settings for Windows aero to get windows animation smooth. Do you give me some advice for how to adjust this setting.

Hi,

I need a batch or similar type file that will "detect display" from (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution).

HP dv6 use switchable graphics and they can be seriouly problematic to update. Anyway the only way i can use the latest driver is if i put up with aero not starting properly sometimes. I found out it's becasue the laptop is randomly deciding to switch to display 2 - when it should be 1. No display settings in that section will change when its in that state until "detect" is used.

Then i run a batch i have that restarts aero and it goes back to normal.
"net stop uxsms
net start uxsms"

Basically i want a batch(s) to detect displays and restart aero on startup. Im on windows 7.

Cheerz

A:Need a Batch file or similar for "detect display" in display settings.

Nevermind, found a way to make a shortcut to switch to computer only display; maybe having that on startup will sort it out.

Something weird just happened

The Nvidia Control Panel settings won't save . No matter what i do.I tried opening the Nvidia Control Panel .EXE file with Compatibility Mode.It won't save.

Then i tried checking the box saying , Run this program in Compatibility Mode with my OS.It won't save , still.

I do remember opening my Nvidia Gforce Experience this afternoon and it asked for the Game Ready Updates to install. It also asked for other Drivers to install. And i have not installed ANY updates from Nvidia Gforce Experience.

Is this the reason

Or today , Google asked something about checking my system or something.I just clicked , i agree , and clicked , NEXT , NEXT and next...

Could that be a reason

A:Nvidia Control Panel Settings won't save ...

OH MY GOD , Guys.....

I was so upset since yesterday night. And i went to this shop close to my home , thinking i am going to take my rig for fixing. Also , i thought that i am gonna give my RIG to the people who assembled it and was so sad due to this.

I wondered , why don't i accept the Gforce requests and just give it a try, since i have to take my pc anyway for fixing this Nvidia Control Panel issue. So, i just accepted the requests and installed a Gforce Game Ready install followed by a Gforce Driver Installation (which i did through a clean install as Sevenforums suggested me ) .

During the Driver installation via Gforce , something strange happened i.e when it said , uninstalling Nvidia Control Panel , my screen went blank for like 1 minute and then came back...

I was hesitant to try these updates , since i have seen stories of people saying their system crashed and similar..Anyways , next thing you know , i opened the Nvidia Control Panel and it is saving now

I am going to restart my computer just to make sure that everything is working fine...

I would like to enable v-sync for when I play the game Pro Evolution Soccer 6. But in Vista with the newest official Nvidia-drivers (100.65) it seems the Nvidia Control Panel won't remember the settings.
I read somewhere that I should change the write permission on the file nvapp.xml in windows/system32 and I have done that.
It has helped to insure that the entry I make in the 3d settings for the .exe file of the game remains and it seems the settings are set the way I want, but they have no effect! When enabling v-sync I should get rid of the tearing on my screen (a "line" moving cross the screen) but it makes absolutely no difference, hence I believe it doesn't remember the settings.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Hey Folks,

I am running build 7127 of Windows 7 x64, with the latest N-Vidia Drivers from their website.

Basically the problem I have is that my N-Vidia Control Panel settings do not seem to be applying.

I have the advanced settings option set, with anti-aliasing, and all of the other settings turned up to max, however these settings are not applying to any of my games or programs.

I was previously running build 7067 with the March Drivers and these settings worked fine, however they do not seem to be working here.

I tried rolling back to the March drivers however this did not resolve the problem which leads me to suspect some issue in the OS?

Any solutions people?

Thanks
Zach

Untill today, I can't set my old Siemens CRT screen MCM 2110 MTD to 100Hz - 32bit - 1024/768 (can run 120Hz with WinXPpro!)
I run Win7 on an old mobo Epox 8RDA3+ with Nvidia 7600GT GoldenSample agp, have tried WDDM1.0, WDDM1.1, 181.22, 182.05 Nvidia Drivers, and only WDDM1.0 works (with poor performances).

Mind that the day I installed Seven, everything was running fine and as usual like with WinXPpro (100Hz - 32bit - 1024/768), but after a few updates, my sceen became to flikker and set back to 70Hz. If i try to set 100Hz, i only get 16bit colors.

From now, as I have tried several drivers, i think it is only Nvidia ro Microsoft relevant, and not the screen driver as i mannaged to re-create a working Siemens .inf file with moninfo.exe http://www.download3k.com/DownloadLi...t-Manager.html

whats the difference between
forceware drivers and detonator

A:Nvidia display drivers?

Forceware drivers are the newest, just a new name, basically. Although it seems that I have read somewhere that they are new from the ground up. They've been out for a while and went through quite a few driver versions. They are both nVidia drivers. If you are thinking about going to the latest driver, use the Forceware driver.

Unless you like to play around with Beta drivers, and like to change drivers a lot, I would suggest you use the latest official drivers from nVidia, which are Forceware. You can find them and a lot of other versions, right here at TechSpot, in the downloads section, or get them directly from nVidia.

I am using an nVidia GeForce 4 MX440 with AGPx8 and it worked perfectly on Windows ME, however I installed Windows XP and I started getting messed up colors and such in games. I deleted all the old nVidia drivers, folders and all and cleaned it all up and installed the latest driver freshly but it still has all messed up colors (see attachment) it is the same with multiple games. I like XP and dont want to have to downgrade back to ME but I would really like my games to work again. Any help would be appreciated.

Also I am running DirectX 9.0b, and have performed all sorts of checks on that and it seems fine and with using the latest driver from nVidia and having all updates installed for Windows XP I can only assume it is some setting I have missed or some permanent bug.

Hi there,
after another 3 years of inactivity here, I have a question for you English speaking guys out there

I have a NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller (nForce 4 AMD Ultra chipset on an ASUS A8N-E board, v2.0). This controller can be configured via the properties panel. I have the following properties there to edit, but don't know exactly how to configure them for maximum speed / highest thruput and lowest pings:
Checksum Offload: Disable
Flow Control: Disable
IEEE802.1P Support: Enable
Jumbo Frame Payload Size: 1500 (Standard frame)
Low Power State Link Speed: Disable
Network Address: Not Present
Optimize For: Throughput
Segmentation Offload: Disable
Speed/duplex settings: Full autonegotiation
VLAN Id: 1
VLAN Support: Disable
Wake on Magic packet: Disable
Wake on pattern: Disable
WakeOnLAN From PowerOff: Disable

Do you know where I can find a list of recommended settings or at least a description of those properties?

Thanks!

Hi, all

This is a very frustrating issue that I'm having. I need to go into Nvidia control panel to change some options but I only am able to mess with sterescopic 3d settings...

this is what it looks like

This seems to be a common issue but every other suggestion online does not fix it for me. I only have 1 monitor (people suggested disconnection dual monitors) I have updated my drivers, I replugged my only monitor, I ended the process and tried again, but still nothing.

Can anyone help me?

A:NVIDIA Control Panel only showing stereoscopic 3d settings

As most people online suggest/say, the problem is not a problem at all. Your computer (Almost 100% sure of it) runs on an integrated graphics card. The card itself handles all the problems so there is no need for any extra options or anything of the sort.

Then again, you can try going into device manager and "restart" your drives. (In other words Enable + Re-enable). If that doesn't work you can reinstall the drives, followed by an update.

Not sure if anyone else seeing this problem. I run a dual Monitor set-up and that has been fine with previous drivers. Since installing 180.48 yesterday, when I reboot or start-up, it all defaults to a single monitor and messes up my icons. Fault appears to be on the NVIDIA part of things, as it loses the tick in the second Monitor under the NVIDIA Control Panel "Set Up Multiple Displays". Hi all,
Have a computer built up to do music editing that has an Nvidia FX 5500 AGP video card in it with dual displays. This setup works great with Sonic 4 software and every other application we can throw at it. Problem arose when we loaded Adobe Premiere on the computer to do some on location video editing. Premiere will open, but one screen (B Screen) goes blank....but...if you drag the window over to the B screen....the A screen goes blank and the B screen magically appears. We're stumped here, and to make matters even better...Nvidia doesn't support their video cards...something to keep in mind when you're buying that next Matrox product....oops....was that a bad thing to say? Thanks in advance guys...

Alright, I have an Alienware M17X R1. I installed the new 260.99 Display driver and periodically get a black screen, sometimes "recovering", usually just sitting there until I do a hard restart (which I dont like doing). After browsing the Drivers FAQs I noticed "Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets are not supported by this release." I have an nVidia 9400M onboard with two GTX280M's in SLI. I'm starting to think I might have goofed here and installed a Driver that doesn't support my hardware config. If anyone can help me clear this up I'd be grateful. I have a feeling I'm having a dumb moment lol. Anyways, I am going to install the most recent driver that supports the Hybrid Power (186.03) and see if that solves my problem. I'll be updating this post if it does, Maybe my brain fart can help someone else out

Howdy.

I have 2x 1280x1024 and 1x 1920x1080 monitor. I hooked them all up, and while messing in settings I found the option for surround display.

The problem is, it thinks my middle (1080p) display is same size as outside ones, and so the resolution is stretched. I couldn't find a way to fix this, only bezel width.

Any ideas? Or apps that fix it?

Hi,

I have a Silicon Graphics 1600SW lcd monitor which has a native resolution of 1600x1024. Now my video card (Asus v7700 Geforce 2 Pro) supports this resolution fine with old nvidia drivers:

nVidia Detonator 4 version 21.83

and earlier versions. However, anything later than this and my picture gets warped. The screen is a wide screen (hence the native resolution) however when running any drivers later than 21.83 then setting the resolution to 1600x1024, it will take the resolution and squash the 1600 to 1280 so I have big gaps on the left and right.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can possibly correct this as I would love to upgrade my drivers to something newer

Hiya and welcome

Have you tried adjusting your monitor size? There should be some buttons to 'stretch' the screen display.

hi,

I tried updating my nvidia forceware drivers recently. When I check the driver version in the device manager the old driver version is still listed. I tried uninstalling the current driver in the add/remove programs list and then installing the new ones again, but I still had the same problem. I've heard talk on some forums of programs like driver cleaner, but some people had serious problems caused by that software. I shouldn't need driver cleaner to simply update the drivers on my same old nvidia card, right? how can I get my system to recognize the new drivers? Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I was having a problem with the display crashing when using an EVGA 9600GT 512mb card. I would get a display crash as the Win 7 "Welcome" screen was initializing. Computer kept running, but no display.

I had to disable all nVidia display drivers by going into "safe" mode and boot using nothing but the Win 7 display basic drivers. Very slow.

Found the problem was that I was using the DVI - VGA adapter that came with the card and a VGA cable. This has worked for a few years, however something happened, maybe an update to Win7 and/or the nVidia card drivers.

The solution was to dump the VGA cable and go DVI/Hdmi to my monitor. Everything is happy now.

Just thought I would post this in else anyone else was having a similar problem. Took me over a month to find this answer!

A:nVidia display and Win 7 crash solved

Thank you!

I was having the same problem with my nVidia 8800GTS-OC. I installed Windows 7 last night and got garbage over the monitor screen and from time to time even blue-screens and crashes. This morning I tested the PC on my TV (which has HDMI) and it runs very fine.

Unfortunately I will have to change my monitor, as it only has VGA input.

Edited later: not really, cause I used my TV, installed new drivers from nVidia, connected the monitor through the VGA-DMI adapter as a second monitor and it seems to work fine now.

Thanks again!

A:settings for NVIDIA laptop nForce Networking Controller with Broadcom B/G Wi-Fi

Let's start with some information.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands, one at a time, followed by the Enter key:

Note that there is a space before the -n or the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the - or / in the following commands.

NBTSTAT -n

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

It is probably a good idea to run the Drivercleaner programme.

Go into add remove programmes, and uninstall anything to do with Nvidia.

Now run the cab cleaner first followed by the driver cleaner.

Reboot your system. Windows should install the generic vga driver.

Now install the latest drivers for your card from the Nvidia website.

Hopefully this should work.

Hello, few days ago windows updater notificated that new nVidia display driver is avaible to download, so I did accept it but one thing I didn't know was that you need unistall the old ones before installing the new ones. And the os did crash, after restarting every time im getting BSOD which says that technical problem has occured STOP: 0x0000007b
there was few steps like
Run CHKDSK /F but it doesn't say a lot to me.
So I installed win7 on a new partition and here's a problem:
How should I delete display drivers from other partition? Is it even possible? If not what are other solutions without formating disk.

The BSOD said attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed. (0x00000116)
I guess it s the problem of my display driver, so I uninstalled the driver and become fine.
But I need the display driver ( without the driver is inconvenient, could anyone tell me what happened to my display card?

The following is the spec of my PC
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 631
Display Card: Nvidia GT240 (Inno3D)
DirectX 11
I ve installed the WHQL version of driver but no use.

Thanks!

A:BSOD after installing Nvidia display driver

There's lots of work going on to convince us that we need software to trawl our hardware and install the latest version of all drivers. If you have the latest computer with a state of the art graphics card and need to play newly released games at a higher resolution than your friends it's important. That's why nVidia are constantly tweaking the graphics drivers. For anyone with a graphics card that's getting on, like the GT240, it's not so important. I suggest you try a few earlier nVidia drivers for your card. If they don't work either then you need to revisit the problem.

Computer display problems Running Windows bit on a Rampage motherboard with Intelcore i CPU and Nvidia GTX graphics card with LG Flatron W S monitor Went to repair shop with fan problems All running ok with full display screen and proper resolution before that After fan was sorted shop reinstalled Windows legit edition as it updates without problem and installed Nvidia drivers I assume from Nvidia website This is driver number and the screen resolution I get is x Display now fails to fill screen with about an inch of black area on right I have tried all the options in the Windows screen resolution changing tool I have tried all the options in Nvidia control panel I can change the resolution but not the screen size With some resolutions I can fill indeed overfill the screen But I can t get both good resolution and a complete screen I thought about the monitor Display screen not GTX285 -Nvidia filling driver but I have been unable to reinstall it as the disk I have is for Vista XP and I cannot currently make it run There's allegedly a driver update on LG's website but I can't run it -I click on it but nothing runs But as at some resolutions I can get a Display not filling screen -Nvidia GTX285 full screen I think the monitor is actually not in need of a driver It Display not filling screen -Nvidia GTX285 comes up as P n P on the screen resolution options in Windows I have tried to install the Nvidia driver from the original disk but again it is designed for Vista and XP and won t run I do get a message saying this program may not have installed and I click try again using recommended settings but then no further information appears If I delete Windows installs an old driver which comes from I don t know where as the one on the disk appears to be and I have Windows update turned off The resolution which works best on this old driver is x at which it fills the screen The recommended for the monitor is x So I think that the display absence is to do with the Nvidia driver or the non-working of the Nvidia control panel Any help gratefully tried

Welcome.

Have you tried adjusting the monitor itself?

I recently updated my drivers for my nvidia graphics card. After rebboting the machine i found that i could no longer see a display on my monitor.

Is there any way in which i could revert back to the old drivers without being able to see anything on the screen?

any information would be apreciated

A:No Monitor Display After Updating Nvidia drivers

Hey,

You should be able to boot and POST atleast, is this the case? If this is the case, go into safe mode and go to device manager using the below method - once here, search for the drivers for your card and right click, properties, uninstall (or rollback, which will change them to your last most recent drivers for your card).

Start > Run > devmgmt.msc

My Dell Inspiron 530 with Vista has a, NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT Display adaptor. I assume that's the card that the monitor connects to. I just started to had a Black screen condition, I tried removing the power cord and PC cord, but to no avail. I saw it has 2 (two) monitor connections on the back of the PC, for running 2 monitors simultaneously, I plugged the monitor into the other connector and it's now working. Do I have a potentially failing card or is it a driver situation. Obviously, I'm just out of warrantee. Help is apprciated, thank you.

Hello all, I'm having some issues with my MX/MX400 Card. The Display setting won't go beyond {4bit}. After I click on Apply it changes but then when I click on OK, it either does not change (stays at 4bit) or the Blue screen flashes and the computer reboots.

The monitor is set to plug and play, all the drivers are updated and all of my Window updates a done.

Thanks!

Hello,Everything was working correctly on my W530 until I installed NVIDIA driver update 10.18.13.5445Now my external monitor (VGA or ID-port attached) blinks for a fraction of a second every 5 to 10 seconds - very annoying. - Windows 10 64-bit- Intel HD Graphics 4000- NVIDIA Quatro K2000M Does anyone know what might be causing it and/or how to fix this blinking? Thank you!

A:External Display blinking after installing NVIDIA ...

Had this same problem (blinking screen on external monitor; every 9-10 seconds) this moring on one of my W530's running Win 10. Wasted 2-3 hours doing all sorts of things with Windows updates (first choice as they often cause problems all on their own) and then restoring earlier configurations and who knows what else. Nothing worked. Saw your post and checked my NVIDIA driver. Lo, it was the one you cited. Rolled back the driver in the device manager (right click, properties, driver tab and rollback button). The machine has been running for about 4 hours now without so much as a hint of a flicker. Thanks for your post, hawk98. It held the clue to the solution. Wouldn't it be wonderful if MS, Lenovo and NVIDIA could coordinate these things better ... or even, at all?

A:NVIDIA 9500 GT 1 GB DDR2 not showing display

Okay, I'm a little confused on the "MAIN CHIP of motherboard " Part.

Was it the cpu?

Did the repair shop replace the board?

Not knowing what caused the board to break first, but it is possible that the graphic card also got broke at the same time.
Though it worked in your friends pc.

Can you explain what happens when you start up?
Does the g41 board have an onboard video card?

This is my first post ever so I d like to say hello to everyone on Techspot been kind of a lurker and I ll keep the whole story short Yesterday my best friend began to move away for college and his computer was going to be passed down to get monitor display signal) No on an 7800GT (but with Nvidia a I me It s in near perfect condition and the only thing we had to replace before starting it up again was the power supply His supply before was a solid and the one we bought is a w We bring it back to his house replace the power supply and voila The computer is running So it continues to run perfectly fine we play games on it and make sure everything is smooth and it is Start - gt Shutdown We bring it back to my house So we plug in everything and we re about to start it up My buddy presses No display on monitor (but I get a signal) with an Nvidia 7800GT the power button No display on monitor (but I get a signal) with an Nvidia 7800GT everything goes on but the monitor remains black while still receiving a signal His nVidia gt gfx card has it s fan running which would leave me to assume it s running fine it s NOT the monitor I ve tried other monitors and they get a signal but its a black screen The monitor also works on other computers The gfx card has two HD ports and my friend had two converters for them so not just an HD monitor could run on it I ve tried different combos of cords converters and could not figure out what is wrong Any help is appreciated thanks nbsp

A:No display on monitor (but I get a signal) with an Nvidia 7800GT

Try reseating the graphics card and while you're in there double check all data and power cable connections for tightness. It's possible something came loose during the process of moving the PC.

If that doesn't help, maybe the graphics card or possibly the power supply has failed. Even though it can provide some power, the PSU might not be able to provide enough total power. Just because a part is new doesn't mean it can't fail. What power supply did you buy and what are the other components?

Hello I currently have recently updated my drivers for my geforce GTX to At the time of using and computer crashing I was using MSI afterburner to see FPS and GPU usage in the Witcher game Also possibly a windows update My setup includes an Corsair AX and a Phenom X II BE with GB of ram and also two SSDS with one SATA Harddrive Probably fans total in the system WIN No 353.30 TDR, 680GTX Geforce startup. display on 7 Nvidia too I have Nvidia Geforce 680GTX 353.30 TDR, No display on startup. WIN 7 played around with my computer to try to get it to boot correctly If I put an older video card like an GS from into the pc it will start fine under an DVI connection But with the GTX it will crash on startup and just give the display a black screen or start to boot and even in BIOS it will cause the computer to freeze up I've tried going into my computer in safe mode with the GS and using driver sweeper and restarting with the GTX still the problem continues even in safe mode the computer will crash on the startup I went under in bios with the older gs and changed my initial startup display from pci to PEG or PEG still will crash If I get windows to boot all the way up by the time I try to click something It will automatically freeze I'm quite lost on what could be the issue and I thank you for Nvidia Geforce 680GTX 353.30 TDR, No display on startup. WIN 7 taking time to read this and look forward to all responses Thanks Jeff

Greetings everyone, I just updated my display drivers to the latest version, now my resolution is not what it used to be.

Previously, I had my resolution set to 1152 x 864 without any problems. After the update, the same resolution won't fit my screen, it's in the "middle' and not in "full screen".

Is there any fix for this? I need my resolution to be what it used to be, this one is too big and the text is too small. Everything is out of proportion. Gives me headache.

I can revert to the previous version, but I'd prefer having latest updates.

If you need additional information, please ask, thanks.

A:Newest nVidia Display Driver problem.

Are you using a CRT or LCD? If you are using an LCD than your LCD native resolution might be different and probably higher than 1152 x 864 and as you've upgraded your driver over the previous one so it has transfered your settings to the new one though newer drivers from NVidia has changed the size of resolutions in order to fit best on most displays with best possible clearity on each resolution. Kindly let us know what Brand of display you have and what is the highest resolution it has?

First my screen starts to pixelate with funky colors and flash black a few times. Then I get this message:
Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered.
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 275.33 stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

A few moments later my screen will go black. Then I have to shut down by holding down the power button. Once, when I rebooted, there were a few dollar signs flashing on the screen as the computer was booting up. This keeps happening. Any ideas how to fix the problem?

A:Display driver stopped responding (NVIDIA)

If you go into the BIOS setup which is before any drivers or windows load.

Is there any garbage on the screen along with what should be there.

The reason I'm asking is that what you are describing could be related to bad video memory.

The other thing to look at is the Video card fan running OK and the heat sink is dust free?

Good Luck
