Q: HP Pavilion D33007 VG31 Tango motherboard chipset drivers n...

On checking my drivers in device manager/ system devices/Motherboard resources after installing an Nvidia GeForce 6200 Graphics card I have found that it's saying no drivers are required or have ever been installed for this device. After installing the replacement graphics card I'm not noticing any difference even after changing the PCI setting in the BIOS to VGA so I'm naturally suspecting that I need to find a motherboard chipset download to see if it helps things along. After installing the replacement graphics card I'm not noticing any difference even after changing the PCI setting in the BIOS to VGA so am I right in thinking that I need to find a motherboard chipset download to see if it helps things along and if this is the case where can I find such an antiquated batch of drivers .. and yes I have been looking and so far my anti-virus has detected several threats from bogus download sites ... anyone ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently bought a 9800 GTX graphics card, have it all set up, and am running into problem after problem. By having it all set up, I mean that the fan is running right now trying to find its drivers but it can't. My system doesn't even recognize that the card is there. EVGA (the card makers) suggested updating my BIOS/Chipset drivers. But, one problem: I can't find the BIOS/Chipset drivers.

HP has Vista drivers for the BIOS, but not for Windows 7. I called them up, but the people that I can't even understand aren't very helpful and speak from their scripts only.

Could anybody help me find the latest chipset/BIOS drivers for Windows 7 on a Pavilion a6200n HP computer?

I'm doing a clean install (actually a clean re-install) of Win10-Pro on an Asus P9X79-DLX / i7-3930K computer. If the Device Manager shows all the devices working properly is there any need or benefit in installing any motherboard chipset drivers that might be on the Asus support page for this mobo?

A:Are motherboard chipset drivers still needed?

Probably not but if you check the ASUS website and there are new Win 10 compatible drivers (chipset or otherwise) then I would prefer those over any that Win 10 installs.

I can't load the Chipset Drivers for my new ABIT NF7-S motherboard. When I put in the CD that contains the Chipset drivers and select Chipset drivers it begins with a welcome screen. From there on it does not follow the examples in appendix A of the user's manual. The next thing it asks for is the Windows98CD, I should click the drive it is in and then click okay. When I do that it just reverts to the same request never accepting my input. I tried downloading the Chipset drivers from the ABIT website, it unzips, and when I start the setup.exe it performs in the same manner. What's wrong?

I think my chipset is Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.93GHz and my motherboard is Gigabyte GA-8TRC410M-NF but when using Driver Genius to scan for driver updates it reports back AMD South Bridge Driver (PCI bus) & AMD Chipset Drivers (ATII/O Communications Processor SMBus Controller) need installing/updating ?

Do I need them ? I think I've installed ATI Catalyst before for the SMBus driver but recently uninstalled because I didn't understand what it was for and didn't like the folder/installer

A:AMD Drivers On An Intel Chipset (South Bridge & Chipset Drivers ?)

First thing, check your specs just to be 100% sure of what you have.

Second, Driver Genius and any similar program is not really recommended as they aren't particularly reliable.

Then if you still have drivers for stuff you don't have we can talk about them.

I have GTX 460 with 258.96 drivers. I do not have an nVidia chipset. When I went to check the Driver Sweeper files, I found all these chipset files. Why do I have them?

A:Why do I have chipset drivers when I don't use an nvidia chipset?

Why do I have them?

For the same reason I and everyone else does, because 7 installs base drivers for just about everything as a "just in case", regardless of the actual hardware. I have those same files as well as some from Intel, Via, SiS, etc all in the,

Personally I would just leave all that well enough alone as it isn't affecting anything as they never get loaded unless the hardware they are for ever gets installed. That and there is a good chance that by removing them that when SP1 does come out it will fail to install due to missing system files (ask those that had that happen after removing various unused driver files and whatnot with vlite on Vista).

My gigabyte motherboard started making obnoxious buzzing noises a few months ago, which I determined, after thorough inspection, that the source of the noise is the South Bridge chipset fan.

I've tolerated it pretty well up until now, the Sims 3 release has me next to this infernal computer for hours on end. So I opened up my case and simply removed the South Bridge chipset fan, but left the heatsink on there.

After powering back up, I ran a stress test, which passed -- both mine, and the system's -- I'm going to hop back into my game now. Though, should I expect a crash down the road? or is the heatsink going to keep the chip cool enough?

Actually that's a hard question, generally its not possible to install another motherboard, sometimes it is. In this case one is an AMD platform and the other is an Intel platform, there could be tons of differences in mounting holes, physical design, clearance, connectors, heat dissipation requirements, cooling systems, etc. Laptops are not like desktops that use more standardized designs.

I don't have the recovery disc, and its a different chipset in new motherboard. I know if I could boot from old mobo and use sysprep tool I'd be fine. However that is not possible. Is there a way to manually edit the driver files or run sysprep from a live-cd? Registry hacking might even be necessary.

*edit: I just tried running sysprep from a Windows 7 Recovery Disc command prompt, but it gives the error that ActionQueue.dll is missing from my computer.

Did you already install the new motherboard, so you're ready to start the process if I tell you how? You use the original disk, no restore is involved in the process?

Read the attached pdf. It can inject drivers using "P2P adjust OS" option. You want the software? It was freeware a long time ago.

I've been floating around seven forums for awhile as a guest because i could get most of the info i wanted by not having to ask. It's come to a point now where i would like a second opinion(s) on updating my Motherboard chipset, so i'm here to ask for help

Basically ive installed a new/old (depends on how you look at it) and have not installed any drivers for the chipset from ASUS.

My Motherboard is this ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download M4A77TD

and the drivers are kind of out of date on the ASUS site but i did find AMD do chipset drivers too AMD Chipset Drivers

now i'm unsure or at least i need a second opinion(s) on this but would it be ok to install the AMD version as they seem up to date or should i stick to the ASUS site?

cheers in advance

A:Motherboard chipset updating

I would stick with the drivers offered by Asus.

The reason is that, especially with a company like Asus or Gigabyte- that manufactures high end performance grade boards - that the manufacturer can customize the motherboard, adding or removing components and features, and may customize the chipset driver too.

The "Best to buy" is so subjective. In all the reviews I've read, the i850 chipset based systems are still the performance leaders. They are also the most expensive.

In terms of performance, SiS645 chipset is the next best. The problem is it's new and I'm having trouble finding any boards that are available right now.

In terms of what MoBo brand to buy ... that's a can 'o worms. My personal favorite is Asus. You're right that Abit makes good boards, too. Most of the bigger board makers have good products, it's really just a matter of finding a board with all of the features that you want.

Good luck!

AFAIK, you can only get Intel Chipsets to suit these processors, and check with your supplier that the board you are buying is the Updated (V2) one.

From what I understand and I may have been out of the loop for a while now but the north bridge video memory controller and the of The Evolution the Chipset. A:The Evolution of the Motherboard Chipset.

Traditional PC's still have them seperate that I've seen. Typically when they start combining things into a single chip, it's typically a space saving effort for a specific function (ie: such as cell phones).

In any cast, assuming you are referring to a standard PC (as you referenced a gaming machine), you don't have as many options as you think. As has always been the case, you will select the cpu that fits your needs/budget, then you will select from the available motherboards/chipsets that support that cpu. So while there may have been a great many changes, they are for specific uses. For PC use, especially with performance parts for a gaming PC, not much has changed.

where can i go to find out what kind of intel chipset motherboard i have. i've reformatted my hard drive and i'm trying to download the correct ac'97 codec for the sound.

A:intel chipset motherboard

Hi, There are several ways to ID your motherboard. Try this first:

You want the Free Download link there. Download Belarc Advisor to desktop, run it to install. Shows many motherboards, video, sound, chipset, and software.
Your motherboard may be shown under "System or MainBoard"
then, Audio for sound device. Best to get drivers for sound from company that made the it a name brand like Gateway? Do you have any CDs that came with the system?
You can also look inside the computer....if that is not an option for you, try Belarc.
Somewhere on the board itself is a label, either a paper one or printed directly on the board, in bigger print than the rest, an ID number....perhaps like this: MB6137 or SD-11
MS6168 GA7VX
There might also be an FCC ID number.
Post what you can find.

Greetings again,

Unfortunately I suffered from BSoD's for months and I was required to send the PC to be tested. Turns out the RAM was defect and, as said by the first specialist that checked it, so was the Motherboards Chipset. I got new RAM and send the mobo to be checked by the retailer. After I week I get an email from the retailer stating that after 55hours of using a Burn-In test it showed no faults. I called the original guy and he 100% assured me the chipset was indeed defect. The retailer wants to send me my original mobo back and I'm not sure what to do... Is the Mobo defect or isnt it?>< Any insight would help me out a lot. Thanks in advance!

A:Motherboard chipset defect or not? (P8P67 Pro rev 3.1)

Unless your box and motherboard are marked as "Rev B3" then the chipset is defective.
The initial P67 intel chipsets had a flaw in the sata 3(6g) controller. With continued use of the controller a transistor suffered degradation which resulted in diminished performance from sata devices connected to it.

I contacted Asus directly regarding this issue and sent my motherboard back to them and they sent me a replacement out within a week. I'm not sure if their replacement scheme has ended now. If it has you might only be able to return the motherboard to the retailer for replacement. On the other hand, unless you have any Sata 3(6G) devices and are using the intel controller (there is also a marvell controller on the motherboard which can handle Sata 3(6G) devices) you won't notice any issue with it.

I'm considering getting the Abit KXR-333 motherboard and here are 2 upgrade questions:

1. Is PC2700 worth getting over PC2100 for use with KT333 mobo and will it be future compatible at such a time when AMD decide to move up the CPUFSB to 333 from 266?

2. I need to replace my current 512mb PC133 with new mobo DDR ram. Is cheaper Generic PC2700 (~£45 for 256mb) worth it over more expensive Crucial PC2700 (~£80 for 256mb)? Thats £90 and £160 respectively for 512mb PC2700.

A:KT333 Chipset Motherboard Questions

Right now, as far as an AMD pltaform is concerned PC2700 isn't really necessary. I've heard rumors about a higher FSB for the server part of the Athlon ( AthlonMP ) but it seems the AthlonXP is stuck on 266 for a little while now. The Hammer line is supposed to debut with a 166 FSB but I'm not sure the AthlonXP will ever get to it. The KT333 has very little advantage over the KT266a but it's easier to find now. You can always run your Ram at 266 on a KT333.

I'd rather get some good brand memory rather then Generic. When I purchased my A7V266-e, I've had lots of problems getting generic memory to run with it. I was low on cash so I had bought some TwinMOS memory but it would crash all the time. I also tryed Apacer but it's only when I got Kingston ram that things ran smoothly. I'd rather get good 266 Ram then Generic 333.

Now I have Samsung PC2100 ram & even though it's rated CAS2.5 it's been running at CAS2 since January now withouth a hitch.

A:Motherboard Problem - SIS Chipset Versus Nforce2

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot

Without a question!
SiS is inferior to nForce2 but nForce2 is not exactly
the best avail today.
How is the new board running?

If you are in the states, I believe they have to
replace with equall or better. You may want to check local
Also look at any info you have from Evesham, there
may be something in the contract..

A:Motherboard software( Bios,Chipset ,audio VGA).Need these?

Unlikely you will need any of them. Windows 7 is extremely driver complete.

Open Device Manager and see if there are any yellow marks. If not all is well.

Click on Start, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

If there any, get the drivers from the ASUS site: Support For Motherboard P5GC-MX/1333

Make sure you select 32 or 64 bit correctly.

A:chipset drivers

If you are running a modern chipset [made in the last 2-3 years] you should install the drivers. When the os is loaded, it will use either a native windows driver or a "standard ide driver" To get the most stability, and functionality from the board, you should install the drivers.

I thought I had correctly installed my motherboards chipset drivers, but when I right click on these highlighted items in device manager> select properties> driver tab> driver details I get a popup that says " no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device" Does this mean that some of the chipset drivers failed to install?

A:missing some chipset drivers???

I think what that means is that those devices are more controlled by the system, than by Windows.

Basically, device drivers are there as a go-between between you, your operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac etc), and your hardware. This is especially true for input and output devices.

But since those things are more for the processing and transfer of information, they are more controlled by your CPU, motherboard or memory. That last bit is mostly guesswork, but I am certain that those devices do not need drivers to work.

So I don't think there is a problem there.

A couple years ago I had a PC custom built for me and have had intermittent problems - crashes - every few months (separated by months with no problems). I was recently told I should see if my chipset drivers are up to date. I have no idea how to do this. This refers to the motherboard chips? My PC has a GIGABYTE X58A-UD3R. (I know there are at least 2 revisions but I don't know which I have.) A utility I run (HWiNFO32) says I have the "Intel X58 (Tylersburg 36S) + ICH10R" chipset. How do I tell if I've got the latest drivers? Does the Window Update utility have access to these drivers and check for updates or is this something I'm supposed to do?

A:Chipset drivers need updating?

If you've had crashes it's possible you have minidump files, if you have those we can look at a complete dated list of your current drivers and point out any that may be old/bad.

The files would be found in c:\windows\minidump

If you zip them into a folder you should be able to upload/attach it here using the paperclip icon in the edit window.

Hi everyone,

Here is my problem :

I just replaced my old graphic card with a ATI Radeon x1650 Powercolor. I updated the drivers of course.
Everything is working fine, except for one (old) game (Worms4Mayhem). This game was working with my old and outdated graphic card.

After mailing back and forth to Codemasters support, they advise me to update my chipset drivers.
So i downloaded (many times) the necessary file to update my nvidia nforce2 chipset driver. But the installshield program won't start...

I got these questions :
- Is the chipset driver update advice wise?
- How can i get this install to work ? Why doesn't it work properly?

Feel free to ask more precisions about my problem, i apologize for not having much knowledge in computers.

Here are my specs :
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
2,08GHZ 1,50 Go RAM
Windows XP Pro sp2
MoBo : Asus A7N8X-X
Graphic card : ATI Radeon x1650 Powercolor

Thanx in advance for your help

A:Installing chipset drivers

Don't know if the chipset driver update will help with your game, but it's not a bad idea to have the latest drivers for all your devices.
Where are you getting the driver from? Are you getting these?
As for why the install won't start, I'm not sure. You could try getting winrar or 7-zip, then right-clicking the file and picking extract to <folder name>. Then run setup.exe in the folder that was created. If that still doesn't work, try running the file in safe mode.

Is it necessary to install chipset drivers? what happens if i dont?

A:Is it necessary to install chipset drivers?

I'd be interested in the current info on this as well.

5 or 10 years ago, you heard about it constantly and it was considered a near necessity for anyone building their own PC.

But you rarely hear about it anymore. Maybe that's because fewer and fewer people are building their own machines.
I asked this question on this forum several years ago and did not get a clear cut answer. It was more along the lines of "it can't hurt" or "as far as I know" or "why not" or "recommended"--with no documentation supplied. Just opinions with no supporting evidence.
But I've never heard anyone say it's a major mistake not to install them on recent hardware and can't recall any issues clearly traceable to lack of chipset drivers. Surely there must be millions of PCs built without "chipset drivers", which I think is a somewhat outdated term.

I'm trying to install updated chipset drivers. I downloaded nForce 680i SLI from the nvidia website. When I run install, it asks me to select what I want to install and gives only 2 choices: nvidia ethernet driver, and nvidia storage driver. Those aren't the chipset drivers, are they?? thanks

A:nvidia chipset drivers

Yep, partially. Install it and be happy.

I have an Acer Notebook with x AMD-TL processors ATI Radeon Xpress graphics and GB RAM x GB sticks The ENE Card Reader appears to be sharing address space with the upper GB of RAM because my system Blue Screens whenever I try to use the Card AMD Drivers Chipset Vista? for Reader with the upper GB of RAM installed It is completely stable with AMD Chipset Drivers for Vista? the upper GB of RAM removed AMD Chipset Drivers for Vista? I have used the Memory Diagnostic Tool to check the RAM several times and no errors were ever found I've also swapped the positions of the RAM sticks with the same results so this appears to be a memory mapping issue For XP and XP x it was necessary to load Chipset Drivers in addition to the display drivers Is this also necessary for Vista and Vista x I've visited the AMD ATI website and they AMD Chipset Drivers for Vista? have Display Drivers South Bridge Drivers and the Catalyst Control Panel for Vista and Vista x Does one of these components contain the Chipset Drivers or is this an entirely different animal all together If separate chipset drivers are required where do I get them because AMD certainly doesn't seem to have them and neither does Acer BTW are there any power users out there capable of editing a BIOS to add features like Address Remapping Would this usually require access to the Source Code -John

I know there is a chipset driver for intel based motherboards but not come across the need for chipset drivers for amd based motherboards as of yet.

I have an ABIT KV-85 motherboard with a VIA chipset. I am running Windows Vista Basic x64 on it. As you know in x64 there are seperate C:\Program Files for x32 and x64.

When I downloaded the lastest x64 drivers they were in WinRAR, so I extracted them to a VIA folder in the x64 bit Program Files. I assumed that's where they were supposed to go. But after an installation and reboot I found a new VIA folder in the x32 Program Files.

Did I do something wrong or is this the way it's supposed to be?

Thinking about updating my chipset drivers for my Asus A7N8X-E motherboard.Have a 9800 pro video card.Have latest drivers installed in it.Downloaded latest chipset drivers to desktop and burned on cd.Never tried updating drivers on chipset before, not giving any problems just want to get latest drivers. Any suggestions on doing this? I was going to remove in add/remove ,disable my panda anti-virus and reinstall.Any thing i'm forgetting?Anybody done this before?

A:Updating chipset drivers

You shouldn't have any problem. It downloads as a zip file of course. After it unzips running setup.exe will install what you need.

I still haven't been brave enough to update XP to Vista. I've got everything that I need, but how do things work with chipset drivers? Should I uninstall the XP drivers first? The usual procedure is to install the chipset drivers before installing video card drivers. How would that work with an XP to Vista upgrade, where I would already have the video card drivers installed and would be adding the Vista chipset drivers later?

I hope this all makes sense.

Do you know if they make NVidia chipset drivers in x64 bit and if so, where do I go to find them. I went to the NVidia site and could not find anything. The reason I ask is I am currently running Vista x64 and I have a VIA chipset and they do make x64 drivers for VIA. (I am told that you have to run the x64 drivers for a x64 OS)

But my motherboard is starting to fail, so in shopping fora new one, I have stayed away from ordering anything with an NVidia chipset in it, for fear of not being able to find x64 drivers for it.

Hi there guys I need to konw the opinions of you I Have the ASUS M N-E SLI Motherboard wich has a NVIDIA chipset I just made a upgrade to a ATI Radeon and I noticed that every thing goes quot well quot until I install the ATI Driver After I install when in Chipset!!! a ATI Problems with MotherBoard installing 4850 driver NVIDIA de driver the PC starts to crash not a blue screen just freezes after some minutes of use I am Problems when installing ATI 4850 driver in a MotherBoard with NVIDIA Chipset!!! sure that is when I install the ATI driver because I just removed it the driver only catalyst still installed and I am using the PC with quot no problems quot I heard that was not possible to use the as principal grafic and de old Nvidia GT for physx but I did not know that a conflict would appear just because the onboard LAN is NVIDIA driver Please help me I need opinions I thought about these possible solutions - Disable the onboard LAN and remove its driver install ATI driver and see if the problem stops - Install MS Windows XP and see if the problem stops since I heard that the XP does not have problems with using nvidia and ati drivers at the same time What you guys think about it Thank you very much allready

A:Problems when installing ATI 4850 driver in a MotherBoard with NVIDIA Chipset!!!

I would hope you uninstalled the driver the 8500GT before installing the 4850. I doubt that it is the LAN driver that is causing the problem. If it helps any I am using a Nvidia based motherboard (NF4) with an ATI x1950 Pro and have never had a problem like the one you are describing (that and my motherboard uses the same drivers yours does).

As far as using both, not going to happen in Vista. You want to use more than one card, they all have to use the same driver, no trying to mix and match ATI with Nvidia.

I've been considering upgrading my G505 (A6-5200) to Win10 from Win7. I haven't found any chipset drivers for Win10, though I've seen quite a lot of people using win10 without an issue. Is there anywhere I can get those drivers from? Thank you.

A:G505 Win10 chipset drivers?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
Windows 10 like all the previous Windows versions have native drivers built into the operating system for support of older hardware.  If there are no Lenovo chipset drivers available for Windows 10 and your model then the laptop is using the native chipset drivers.

Hi all

I'm having a spot of bother with an older RM machine with an Intel motherboard

Basically I have found the chipset drivers from the Intel website, downloaded them along with the onboard graphics and all works fine.

The problem is the onboard sound and Ethernet controllers have not been detected, does anyone know of any generic drivers that could be used? or if needed, I can provide full model numbers which have been detected by Intels chipset detection utility

Many thanks in advance

I was trying to reinstall Vista x32 HP but deleted the operating system by mistake. Now I'm unable to reinstall it as I apparently need to reinstall the SATA RAID drivers. But I don't know which chipset I have for me to download the drivers. Without an operating system, can I find out which one it is?

Please help me, but I'm not very knowledgeable so please be gentle!

Thanks in anticipation.

I think you may need real tech support. Since you cannot boot the computer for us to fill in the understanding gaps, your problem will go likely go unanswered.

I see you are able to make an internet connection, so at least we can talk.
What you need to do is reestablish a boot on your laptop. The best way to do this would be to contact the manufaturer for a boot disk. They usually run about $15. However, most new laptops come with a restore partition on the hard drive. If you were to 'Rescue' your system, it should restore it to the way it was the day you bought it. It may have been a requirement to burn disks from this partition though.

I have to admit, this is piss poor technology as it many times assumes the user will create backup disks from this partition, without explaining the need, making it easy, or (dumb arces) giving you the disks to start with.

Try a selective boot. On my computers it's F9, but it could be any of the function keys or on the 'Home' block of keys. If all else fails, refer to you owner documents.
If you are able to access this partition, we may be able to save you this time. However, anyone with a laptop should have a rescue set of disks. It can be really difficault to identify your hardware, and apply drivers, if you can't boot the system.

I don't yet have rescue sets because I'm too cheap to buy a big stack of DVD-RW's, but know I should, just to show you your boats still in the water, you have no oars, but your not alone.

I was just wondering, are intel chipsets and nvidia drivers compatible and do they work well together? The only computers I have owned have all had Nvidia chipsets.

A:Intel chipset and nvidia drivers

Yes they are compatible... Some Nvidia video drivers have problems with Windows and not necessairily with the chipsets
