I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hope that it is just drivers but what you do is to unzip the driver package into a temporary directory. When the touchscreen is working Right click on START (long press) and go to Device Manager>Human Interface Devices>HID compliant touch screen Click/touch Driver/update driver then select "Browse...on your computer, point to the temorary directory with the new driver and press NEXT. If it is a newer driver it will load it.http://community.acer.com/t5/Windows-10/R7-572-touch-screen-not-working/td-p/417314/jump-to/first-unread-message
My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working. I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution. I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

Hey all, I woke up this morning and started using my computer to find that there were white spots on my computer screen that I had not previously noticed. I have had the computer for two years and haven't had any similar issues. There does not appear to be anything wrong with the pixels, as the color changes appropriately - it's just brighter. Furthermore, the bright spots on the screen heat up much more than the rest of the screen, which remains cool. I also noticed that, though this may be a separate issue, the touch screen isn't responding. Here is an image (it's much more noticeable on a white background): http://imgur.com/09sYisg Any help is much appreciated!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Lighter-Spots-on-Computer-Screen-Touch-Screen-Not-Working/td-p/5745362

I've had my laptop for 3 weeks and my touch screen has stopped working. I've read all posts I can find on this and reset my computer to factory out of the box.
Having read the posts I tried the Windows hot fix for the issue and it said it didn't apply. I'm going crazy and ready to give up on this and return my laptop. I would really like to fix this and move on. I noticed in the Human Interface drives I have multiple drivers that are the same and I do not see a driver for the touch screen.
Touch screen is not working. I upgraded. My notebook with windows 10. When problem seen then reset.by factory reset.still the problem is as it was..Give some idea

I have a Yoga 11e and recently installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise on the device. After installation the touch screen was no longer functoning at all. I have downloaded every Chipset, Mouse and Key Board, Software and Utility driver found on the Lenavo website. When i go to the device manager under Human Interface Devices I have two yellow triangles for I2C Device and when I click on Proerties they both tell me " This device is currently waiting on another device or set of devices to start. (Code 51)". I have installed the GPIO drvier from the lenavo website as per other posting about non-functioning touch screens. This has not repaired the problem. I need some assistance or a driver for the touchscreen.

My touch screen stopped working about 2 days ago. The computer is updated, I ran the HP support and nothing happened. I ran also 2 tests, those that you can enter using F2. I've looked through previous topics and there don't seem to be any from the past few months on this topic. In short, the touch screen is completely unresponsive. I've checked the device and it is enabled. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this? I've had the laptop for three days, and this the first time I've tried to use it, if that matters.
Doesn't work? Finger, pen, both? Are you running windows 10?https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Yoga-260-Touch-Screen-Not-Working/td-p/3374455
After a recent mandatory update the touch screen on my Envy started working oddly. When I select an item using touch it appears to "rick-click" the item instead of "left-clicking." When I purchased this device less than 2 months ago it was then loaded with Windows 8.1 64 bit. I was then offered to upgrade to Windows 10 64 bit. Since the upgrade the touchscreen will not work. I have tried all of the recomended troubleshooting on your site. I have also made sure that all drivers as well as the os is up to date. Please fix. The reason that I purchased this all in one device was because of the touch screen.
Hi there @KLMcNeill?Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. Scan for hardware changes8. test again. My touch screen is not available on my 2710. It worked fine for a very long time.
Calibration is not available...System->About says "No pen or touch input is available for this display."
I noticed after I upgraded to Windows 10. (but that's not necessarily the precise time is dropped out, as I don't use it a lot)
I then downgraded back to 8. Not there. Figured that I might as well go back to Windows 10.
I did other things within same rough period of time. BIOS upgraded to A12. Changed out some drivers, etc.
I've tried drivers, checked the touch cable connection on the motherboard...but haven't made a single step forward.
Would love to hear some suggestions or ideas.
Thanks in advance.
From Win-X menu, open Device Manager and search for Human Interface Devices. Expand the HID list
Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and from the list of options displayed, make sure it's set to Enabled. Then reboot.
Note that Dell hasn't tested the 2710 for support of Win 10, but touch should work in Win 8.1
I am unable to re-enable the touch screen on my tablet. The pen works fine on the screen but it is not registering my hand touching the screenI have checked in Device Manager and the HID-Compliant Touch Screen driver is not showing in list of drivers - not showing under hidden devices either.I have updated BIOS to latest version, updated Digitizer as well as Fingerprint Sensor with drivers from HP sitePen/Touch settings will only allow me to set up Pen configuration - Don't get the touch optionStill unable to bring back touch screen on deviceAny ideas?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/Touch-Screen-not-working-on-HP-1011-x2-G1/td-p/5687139

My X1 Yoga's touch screen is not being detected by Windows. I tried running the Wacom firmware update tools suggested by other threads but they don't work -- the log file just says "No device". My Surface RT touch screen stopped working. I have done everything I can find on the internet trying to fix it from cleaning the screen with a microfiber cloth to blowing it away and re-installing everything.
The Windows button on the screen responds with the tactile vibrate, but the screen itself is not functioning as a touch screen. Any ideas?

I have the same problem too for almost two years and I found the solution just this March 20. Install the LCD Firmware in your machine. You can use this tutorial to guide you through the process. If the LCD frimware link dows not work, you can download it [unverified link removed]. It worked for me and it only took a one-time installation. I've reset my laptop to go back to Windows 8 but unfortunately, I was coerced again to update to Windows 8.1 however, it did not screw up my touchscreen.
Let us know if problems persists.

Our Yoga has totally and completely stopped responding to touchscreen inputs. Completely out of the blue, no warning signs. Don't know if it was recently after a Win10 update. Hi, Since installing Windows 10, I am unable to use any functions of the touch screen. I had a lot of trouble with the mouse pad not deactivating with the button (as I use a plug in mouse most of the time) but I managed to sort that by uninstalling the driver and reinstalling direct from Lenovo. However, the touch screen is making me come to my wits end. I just cannot for the life of me sort it. Windows tell me that "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display" Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I got my Lenovo Edge 15 back earlier this year from service (hard drive fixed) but when it was returned to me the touch screen no longer worked. There is no touch screen driver visible on the device manager either, nothing labled touch screen or anything similair, is there a way to re-isntall the touchscreen? Touch screen is not working.I already tried to reinstall driver but still the same problem. Mouse and touchpad are working. I also removed already the battery for a while and cleaned the screen.Driver version is 6.3.9600.17041 date 21/6/2006 When i check the properties of "pen and touch" i find only one tab. The toch tab.In some screenshots i found different tabs "Pen options" "flicks" "handwriting" "touch" and "panning".Is it not strange that i only have there one tab page? Is there a keyboard combination to enable or disable the touchscreen? I also checked the bios but there is nothing in there to enable or to disable the touch screen.
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
- Press Windows + X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller (A111). You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device". Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices. Your issue should be resolved!
I hope the above information helps.

My touch screen stopped working about a year after I bought this computer. Right before it stopped working completely random items started opening on the computer as if there was a phantom clicking on things. I thought it was a virus but none was ever found by many anti-virus scans and nothing else in the computer was harmed. I'm leaning more to thinking that it is a hardware issue. Hi @natalia1818, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I read from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Pavilion 11x360 PC Notebook and the Touchscreen not working correctly. You might need to check that the Touchscreen is enabled on the Notebook. Here is a listing on how to do that: Press the Windows logo key + X.Select Device Manager from the list.Click the little arrow next to Human Interface Devices to expand the list.Click the touch screen driverRight-click, and select enable from the list.Confirm you want to enable. You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook. I suggest at least 4 days ago as it will make sure to catch what changed the settings. When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues. Please let me know how this goes. If this post helps you to resolve the issue you can click the Thumbs up icon to show gratitude! Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/touch-screen-stopped-working/td-p/5608235
Hi, I have a HP Pavilion 23" All-in-One TouchSmart Desktop Computer and yesterday the touch screen stopped working in an area that spans from top right to mid bottom a good 4 inches wide. I would really appreciate if you can help me with this questions: 1. Is there anything non-hardware related that I can do to fix it?2. In your opinion which component failed? the digitizer? 3. Can you provide the part number and where to buy it if applies? From my initial research, HP keeps what I ask pretty well guarded. Obviously I don't mind going hands on with the repair. Hi, I have recently (Dec 2015) purchased a Yoga 11e. The touch screen function has stopped working. Both Windows 10 and Lenovo Support apps say that all updates are in place. I suspect that a Windows update (~31 Jan 2016) might be the fault - could be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks. ps: I tad annoying the the "worlds biggest computer company" (or similar publicity claim) does not have a 24/7 web chat support function
I had the same problem. After performing a clean-install of Windows 10 Pro (Did not like all that blotware that Lenovo puts in these systems) and "thinking" that I had installed all drivers, I found that touchscreen did not work. I solved it by RE-installing the i2c drivers (downloaded from Yoga 11e support page). It was confusing because there was nothing in Device Manager that indicated any drivers were missing, plus when I ran the .exe file for the i2c drivers all it did was "extract" the files, but it did not install anything! So here is how I went about it: Opened device manager, clicked on "system devices" to locate the i2c device. I looked for anything with "i2c" in it, and saw 2 entries: "Intel Atom Celeron Pentium Processor............i2c........[etc, etc]". I went ahead and manually installed the drivers: right-clicked the item, clidked "update driver software", clidked "browse my computer for driver software", and navigated to where the driver files had been extracted to-as explained above. After the drivers were installed successfully, the names of the devices changed to "i2c controller". Rebooted the computer and VOILA! The touch screen worked again! Opened "control panel", "system" and there it said: "Touch Support With 10 Touch Points"https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-11e-Windows-E-and-Edge/Yoga-11e-Touch-Screen-not-working/td-p/2265079
Hello, I recently upgraded the mechanical hard drive that came with my Yoga 11E to an ssd. I ran Lenovo system update and then Windows Update. But the touchscreen is not working. Under device manager there are a few exclamation points. Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 entries for I2C HID both have a warning. I tried to update them but it says they driver is update and the exclamation point remains. I am not sure if this is the reason why my touch screen is not working but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
I am having the same problem. After reimaging, touch screen is not responding. I too checked device manager and found there are 2 human interface device drivers with exclamation points, named I2c HID. A search found Intel device drivers on Lenovo support site and I downloaded and installed the drivers (n15hc03w.exe). The status of the drivers on device manager did not change. I tried to update these drivers and pointed to the local folder drivers\win\I2C onbut got a message saying "drivers for device are up to date' . Tried 'scan for hardware' still no change to these Human Interface Device. Any ideas?https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-11e-Windows-E-and-Edge/Yoga-11E-Touch-Screen-Not-Working/td-p/2061108

Just got this new B50-30 AIO a few days ago. Ive set it up and then ran the upgrade to Win 10. I now find that the touch screen does not work. Unfortunately I dont know whether it worked before the upgrade. What I see is that device manager does not list an 'HID Compliant Touch Screen' in Human Interface devices. My other AIO does list this type of device (and its touch screen works fine). So it seems that Win 10 is not recognizing the touch screen and thus not loading the device driver. Suggestions??

I was able to fix this... The solution was to reinstall the Display driver. Once I reinstalled it, an entry for HID Compliant Touch Screen appeared in Device Manager Human Interface Devices and Touch Screen now worked fine. 1) Open device manager2) Open Monitor entry3) Select PnP Monitor4) right click Generic PnP Monitor and select Update Driver5) Select Browse my computer for driver SW6) select Let Me Pick7) Select Next and go thru the install (dont recall if there were any more input required) It should then work...https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-A-B-C-N-S-Flex-Horizon/B50-30-Touch-Screen-not-working-No-entry-in-device-manager/td-p/2165575
I just got the HP Spectre in the mail today and the touch screen already isn't working. I was in setting to see if I could figure it out and accidentally turned the TouchPad off, so now I can't do anything on my screen.
Hi @emmab1141, Welcome to HP Forums! I have read your post and wanted to help. I understand that the touch screen does not work, and the touch pad was accidentally turned off. On some touchpads you can turn on or off the TouchPad by double tapping in the upper left corner of the TouchPad. Double tap to turn the TouchPad on, repeat to turn the TouchPad off. If this does not work, do you have an external connected Mouse such as a USB mouse? You may need to use the exrenal mouse to enable the touch pad first.HP Notebook PCs - Using the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 10) Then check if the touch sceen is enbled in device manager:HP PCs - Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues (Windows 10, 8) Let me know how it goes. My wife's laptop was just upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After the upgrade neither the touchpad or the touch screen worked at all. I dug around and enabled the Elan Mouse in Controle panel. That allowed the touch pad to control the cursor but the mouse buttons still don't work.
I haven't even started on the touch screen but I would love any ideas.

My touchscreen used to stop working but was always fixed with a machine restart.
Now it's not working at all and *I have already tried everything posted elsewhere in this forum*.
I have tried changing the battery power settings, trying to update drivers (not exactly sure which is the right one though!?).
Please can someone help because it's a new machine and it is very frustrating.

IMHO I don?t think that someone here in the forum doesn?t read the messages before replaying?
I hope this part of your message is just a result of frustration due to the notebook malfunction...
Back to your issue:
> I have already tried everything posted elsewhere in this forum.
?and what does this mean? What did you try exactly?
Did you system reset and factory settings?
If not try it and in case this does not help you the notebook?s hardware might be affected which requires further hardware checks by authorized service engineer
This laptop was a 2 in one, tablet/laptop and used to be touch screen compatible / usable now it doesn't seem to work that way at all.

Hello! Just recently (within the last week or so) my touch screen has been acting up. I can sometimes click on things - such as switched between tabs. But sometimes when I click it will highlight a word on the screen instead of taking me to the link I'd like. On top of that, I'm completely unable to scroll using my touch screen. I have to use the mouse pad or the arrows on the keyboard. I'm still able to use the mousepad for everything so it isn't like the laptop doesn't function, but it's irritating that I can't use the tablet mode. I bought this model so I could use it in both laptop and tablet mode. I'd really appreciate it if someone helped me solve this issue.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Touch-screen-scrolling-not-working-on-Pavilion/td-p/5789681
The touch screen on my Satellite U920T does not work since a couple of days back.
I cannot find any settings for touch or any touch device (apart from the touchpad) in the device manager.
I'm unsure exaclty when it started to malfunction.
I installed the Windows 8.1 some months ago and had some problem with the wireless card in the beginning, but the issue with the touch screen just appeard this week.
Which Toshiba driver controls the touch screen?
Is this a hardware or software issue?
To be honest there are no special drivers to control the touchscreen.
The driver is provided by Windows system.
I think you should recover the notebook back to factory settings but I?m afraid this will not solve the issue. It smells like hardware related problem since I found some threads here in this forum about the touchscreen malfunction and mostly the issue could be solved by service agents.
By the way: Before running the recovery process try to configure the pen and touch display.
Go to control panel (Windows key + X -> control panel) -> ?Tablet PC setting?.
The first tab ?Display? contains options like ?Configure the pen and touch display?.
Here you should be able to start Setup and to identify the touch screen.
The first option should contain ?1 internal LCD?
At the bottom you could find button to calibrate and reset the settings for this internal LCD.
Hello; I purchased 2 Flex 3 laptops a few weeks ago. One of them had an intermittent touchscreen problem. It boiled down to a USB driver issue. In the Device Manager under USB Controllers I got a yellow Triangle with an exclamation next to "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". If I disabled and then enabled that driver the touchscreen would start working. I ended up returning that laptop thinking it was just a faulty unit, but today my 2nd Flex 3 did the same thing. As far as I know all my drivers are updated an I'm running Windows 10. I don't really want to have to disable and enable drivers every other day so I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue and if so if there is a fix. Attached is a screenshot of the Device Manager.

My recently purchased X1 Yoga touch screen has stopped working. Things I've tried to so far: Updating all drivers for BIOS and other devicesDisabling and re-enabling the touchscreen device and Wacom HID device in Device ManagerUninstalling touch screen device and Wacom HID Device in Device ManagerUnchecking "allow computer to turn off this device to save power"Reboot from safe modeRestore Windows to factory defaultFor clarifications the pen is working just fine. I was able to get the touchscreen back for awhile by uninstalling the Wacom device in Device Manager and rebooting. That fix doesn't work anymore. I'm really frustrated by this - not even restoring windows to factory default fixes the problem. I've looked online for many hours on this issue and pretty much tried everything suggested. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Any update on this? I just got my computer, all was fine. Ran a windows update and the touchscreen stopped working. Still works with the pen though.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/X1-Yoga-Touch-Screen-No-Longer-Working/td-p/2269132

I've had my Inspiron 17 for 4 months and noticed today that the touchscreen isn't working.
No idea how long ago the problem started as I generally use the old desktop/touchpad combination
When checking PC settings it now says 'no pen or touch input is available for this display.'
First thing to do is verify that you purchased a model with a touchscreen - is there a glass covering over the screen itself?http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19563192
I have had this system for around 3 weeks, and today the touch screen just stopped working for no apparent reason.
I have barely used the system since I received it (have been away), and so it is very unlikely it is due to anything I have done (I've installed virtually nothing except Microsoft Office).
I am reluctant to go fiddling with BIOS drivers, etc, given the repercussions that has had for some people elsewhere on this forum.
Any ideas please?
(I must admit I am disappointed to be having numerous issues in a top of the range computer at a premium price.)
I have a HP EliteOne 800 Touch AIO Desktop PC: K1K45UTR#ABA. On April 2 my touch screen stopped working. It seems like the Enter key is permanently pressed and as soon as I try to writ something the enter key is pressed and I only can enter 3 to 4 letters. If opening any text editor, the enter key goes infinitely without a way to stop it. I tried changing the keyboard, mouse, it didn't work. Then I uninstalled Windows updates from April 2, it worked, but only for around 4 hours, and then the problem is back. The computer is now not usable and need your help to find a solution please. In order to access the control panel to uninstall I have to place the mouse pointer on search, write asap "cont", then open control panel and unistall, but that only worked for some time. Is this software related? Help please. Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/HP-Elites-800-Touch-screen-not-working-since-April-2/td-p/5574668
On my Asus R2H I have build 7057 installed.
Every now and then (I haven't pin pointed if it is a specific event that triggers is) my touch screen stops working as touch screen. It does everything, it only doesn't respond to touch.
If I restart, put the machine to standby, shut down and start it again everything is fine again.
I have no clue what might have been changed recently!
Does somebody recognize this?
Check to see if the touch device is set to allow Windows to turn it off to save power (a usual setting for things like USB slots, NICs, etc.)http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/17919-asus-r2h-touch-screen-stops-working.html

I disabled my touch screen a couple of months ago and I wanted to re-enable it again today. But when I looked at the "HID-compliant touch screen" on the Device Manager it was already enabled. So I disabled and re-enabled it again (also restarted the computer) and my touch screen still won't work. I also tried rolling back but it wouldn't let me.
It's still compatible with pen and touch (it says "Pen and touch support with 10 touch points). I've even went on Troubleshoot and did what it said to do and the touch screen still isn't working.
I checked the "Events" for the "HID-compliant touch screen" and at the beginning it says it migrated on 9/22/16, which happened to be the day I got the new Windows 10 update. I'm assuming that the reason for my touch screen not working was the windows update.
Bought a brand new Envy last Thursday, touchscreen did not work. Called support and they remotely worked on it for a few hours ultimately having to restore to factory settings, still did not work. Exchanged laptop at store yesterday and the touchscreen on this one does not work either. Per the sales person at the store the touchscreen should work with computer in laptop or tablet mode, is this correct? Is there a known issue with these that I should choose another model? Is there something that has to be enabled? I have checked the drivers and all is newest version and enabled. I have had this problem for a couple of weeks. I have researched and have done ALL the suggestions offered, including reinstalling Windows 10. I have used HP Support Assistance to make sure all of the updates have been installed. So far, nothing. However lately I have also started having trouble with the mouse and the touch pad. I can move the pointer but punching the mouse button, the enter key or the touch pad has no effect. I have to go into another screen and them back to the one having problems. Windows Store and Store Apps were not functioning after the Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 update, so I attempted a fresh install of Windows 10. After successfully completing the update, the touch screen driver vanished, and the touch screen (and sound) stopped functioning. Please help! The touch screen on my Envy laptop no longer works. I've tried restarting and shutting off, but to no avail. When I go to PC Info, it tells me that: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." This is obviously incorrect, because my laptop is, in fact, a touch screen. I haven't installed any programs that would have affected the feature. Thanks,Jerry
