Acer V15 Nitro Black Edition Battery Stopped Worki...

Q: Acer V15 Nitro Black Edition Battery Stopped Worki...

Just ordered a brand new V15 Nitro Black Edition (Skylake). I turned it on, set up Windows 10, everything was working perfectly. I had also ordered an m.2 SSD, so I decided to pop the laptop open and install it. Installation seemingly went smoothly, but now the laptop won't boot without the power adapter plugged in. It seems like the battery must have come disconnected? Not really sure where to start, I don't see any loose cables on the inside of the case. I removed the SSD to see if it wasn't playing nicely, didn't make a difference. Help!!!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I seemed to have easily solved the problem - it would not boot up on battery without all of the screws on the bottom of the case replaced. I guess this thread could serve as a quick answer for someone in the same situation though! I panicked too quickly.

I've noticed that if my laptop isn't plugged in while I'm playing a game, it seems to automatically use the integrated Intel graphics. Is there anyway to force it to use the 960M, even at the cost of battery life?

This just started happening 2 days ago.  I had left the laptop on for a good month (mostly idle) while I was gone for remote access.  I came back, powered it off. Powered on, just a black/blank screen and lit keyboard.  No sounds.   Any suggestions?  I tried power off and then power on with no plugged items for 30 seconds (from google search tip).

I don't think Acer sells replacement parts like that. You could probably buy from a 3rd party, and install it yourself, but this is very dangerous, and you could waste alot of money. I would send it to acer for repairs.

My Uncle bought an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G-792U. He sent it to me in the Philippines. It is brand new, I got it from March. Windows 10 was installed and was updating like normal. I used it for about only 2 months before like a few days ago where it turned off by itself and now it won't turn on. I started up the laptop, everything was normal and I opened up Google Chrome. I was browsing Facebook and it turned off by itself, there's no lights on the side even if it was plugged in. I tried disconnecting and connecting the battery, holding the power button, holding the battery reset button, holding them both, and it does nothing. Anyone has a solution for this? Sometime this month, we will be going to the US amd my uncle will probably have to replace or fix it since he still has warranty. Thanks!

The touchpad drivers install but do nothing, I seen a post saying install IO drivers but those don't install. Selecting my laptop model and then Windows 10 64bit and downloading the IO drivers, they say "system not supported". None of these drivers seem to work, how do I get these working?  The laptop came with 8.1 installed and I upgraded that; however, the hard drive failed "end to end error" so I replaced it with another laptop drive. When I upgraded to 10 from 8.1 the touchpad did work. I know the touchpad isn't broken or disabled because it works fine on my linux install.

I cannot get the VGA driver for the nVidia 960M to install on my Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition VN7-792G-71ZL.  I am using the driver found on the Acer site.  I am hoping there is a straightforward solution from Acer for this problem.  I did, however, have no problems installing bios updates, firmware and the VGA driver for Intel graphics.

Hello! So I bought this Aspire V Nitro back in January at Best Buy, I looked at the specs and it looked pretty good. However though ever since I bought it I keep getting this same crash. I'm playing a game on medium or high graphics and the laptop will cut to black and won't turn back on for roughly ten to fifthteen minutes. When I feel the bottom of the Laptop it's extremely hot. I don't know why it continues to do this, I've made sure coolboost is running. Today I observed a few scratches on the lid like this on my month old laptop. Has anyone else experienced this on their Nitro laptop's? A quick search on the internet showed that this is expected from the textured lid. But now that the damage is done what can I do to prevent further scratches or fix these ones? This is my life's first laptop after saving a lot through university, this has been painful.

Okay so I already made a previous post on this but the answer to the problem turned out to not work. So I was playing a game with some friends, the game was running on the lowest possible graphics and the only other thing running in the background was skype. The computer after an hour cut to a black screen and shut down for about ten minutes for what I'm assuming was an overheating problem. Is there anyway I can fix this because it's really getting annoying.

Rictus,

I'm uncertain of why it would just start happening randomly. I'm not sure if you have tried a system restore to before the problem started happening to see if there might be some sort of software corruption interrupting the cooling process. I know that you said you took the system to a authorized service center, I assume that means you contacted Acer and sent the system to them for testing?

I purchased an Acer V Nitro VN - G last week It is the gb RAM model with the full HD display I previously owned a Sony Vaio F series laptop and had to sell it off due to a similar slightly similar issue where the CPU V15 Gets Slow on Battery Acer Low Nitro would throttle itself to mHz on battery regardless of remaining batter level nbsp So far I am grateful of the fact that my V 's i - HQ can run at its Acer V15 Nitro Gets Slow on Low Battery turbo Acer V15 Nitro Gets Slow on Low Battery frequency and doesn't lock its clock speed to mHz on battery power provided the charge is greater than nbsp unless I switch to power saving mode nbsp However only yesterday I observed that the computer would get extremely slow once the battery level drops below due to the CPU throttling itself to mHz according to RealTemp and Windows Task Manager I turned battery saver off and changed the power mode to high performance where all CPU parameters were set to This had no effect and the CPU just locked itself to mHz unless I plugged in the laptop and ran it again on battery power once I was at more than charge nbsp I find this highly inconvenient since the primary reason why I sold my dated and over-priced Sony Vaio to purchase my first Acer machine nbsp was due to nbsp the Sony's nbsp poor performance on battery life nbsp their Sony's nbsp lousy customer service and the fact I needed a powerful machine with consistent performance whether being run off battery or AC power since I plan on using the laptop away from the convenience of an AC outlet to edit and convert high definition AVCHD videos that use up a lot of CPU bandwidth nbsp If you own a V series please do report your findings on this issue and please do let me know if there is a way I can disable this form of CPU throttling either through a firmware update or by digging through nbsp the BIOS settings nbsp becuase it really defeats the purpose of spending more than CAD on a flagship machine nbsp FInally if this issue if not fixable are there any reputable laptop volt portable nbsp power banks available that can top up my battery

I recently opened up my new acer nitro v17 to install a SSD to move my OS onto. After placing everything back in order. The laptop will not turn on without the charger connected. When the charger is connected, the laptop turns on and indicates that the battery is at 88%, but once the charger is removed, everything shuts down. If anyone can help that would be great thanks. TL: DR - Battery detected, battery not charging, only runs off of charger

I know this has been asked before but the answers given have not worked.1.  Edit the registery.2.  Disable fast startup.I have an Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black (VN7-791G) with Windows 8.1.  I want Num Lock on always.  When I boot the machine in the morning it is off.  When I wake the machine after a period of inactivity it is off.  I have edited the registry under the keyboard settings per other replys in these forums with no change.  I have disabled fast startup per replys in these forums again with no change.  I contacted Microsux because I think it is a windows issue but they said to contact Acer.  Acer chat is of no use they want you to pay them to modify the registry.  So here I and I believe others are stuck with a machine that does its own thing.

My Acer Aspire is about 18 months old and I am encountering a problem for a few days now that had never happened before. Usually what happens is I'm playing a game and if I want to make a change in the screen resolution or if I do ctrl+alt+suppr the screen turns black and nothing works. The mouse pointer doesn't appear, the keyboard doesn't answer and my only solution is to force it off by pressing the power button for a few seconds and to turn it back on.I thought it was due to hard drive used at 100% but it seems not, and I really have no idea what it could be. The thing is I've noticed several problems of screen freezing and laptop being slower than usual right after I had installed Windows 10 (about 3 weeks ago). Could this be related?I really need help, please this laptop was already 1000$ I'm not buying a new one so soon.

I am using windows 7.If I start it with power supply everything is fine. But if I will disconnect power and try to turn on VN7-591G it will only boot up to moment after successful login. After that there is only black screen. I think there might be a problem with slow CPU speed, but I do not know how to determine it. Also there is no difference if it booting from completely off state or from sleep mode. No power supply and the booting time means reset :/Anyone can help me with this?Best Regards,Avien

Brand new Acer Aspire VN7-791 i bought late last year.  My camera, bluetooth and SD card reader all don't work. I tried reinstalling drivers and that didn't help, as the camera drivers online are for the new model Intel RealSense camera, the bluetooth seems to be bundled with the wifi drivers and wifi works but bluetooth doesn't, and I just tried my SD card reader which doesn't work either. I'm sending my laptop in for other repairs soon but am worried they'd reject this as a software issue and charge me for it.

Whenever I try to play mp4 file, system shows"windows explorer stopped working"..!

restart program, close the program....

When I try to do either of these, the system hangs for some seconds, then closes the whole thing and shows desktop....

I downloaded a movie, It was inside a folder, with the mp4 file inside it. Even if I just select the folder the system shows the error.... So I can't even delete the cursed folder now.....

I tried to restart and open, Its shows the error slow the first time... So when I opened the folder, the default symbol on the file was that of Windows media player.... So I tried with media player classic & vlc player to open the file to no avail.... But this time the error was" mpc (or) vlc player stopped working".....!

Plz help....

Purchased an Aspire V 15 Nitro( VN7-571G-50VG) and as I soon as I started it up it had "No battery is detected" on the battery icon and as soon as the power cord is disconnected it turns off so it can only stay on when its connected. I tried resetting the battery but it didn't work. Any ideas how else to fix this?

A:Aspire V 15 Nitro "No battery is detected"

Hi, First you can try to update your BIOS to the latest version if you don't have the latest one. BIOSAcerUpdate KBC to V1.171.148.8 MB2015/03/20Download But I don't expect it would help. If you just purchased the notebook just bring it back because I don't think that it has anything to to with the software side. It could be that the battery is just not connected (just by mistake they forgot to connect the battery connector) or that the battery is defective. Either way I would bring the notebook back. I don't expect that you can turn on your notebook without the charger plugged in and if this is the case it clearly means that the issue is not software related.

Hi, i have just purchased v15 nitro 592g. After first start with the ac plugged in, i have noticed that the battery is not charging. It said 0% battery, charging. But it didnt charge for around 30 minutes. After restart it was the same, but few minutes later it started charging and now it is still charging. I was just wondering if this is normal, or it should be an issue and i should send it back and receive another piece.

I got my brand new laptop my first acer laptop as well as my life's first laptop a beautiful V Nitro Black Edition Now with such an expensive purchase after lots of patience or Nitro, V15 To my Acer keep in plugged not? I am eager to maintain it for as long as I can So first thing's first I wanted to know in what manner I should be charging the battery as I've seen people using their laptops as desktops since they can't run without being plugged in for very long I know it will eventually happen to mine but how to get the maximum charge cycles Also mine To keep my Acer V15 Nitro, plugged in or not? was a display piece at the hypermarket and they keep all the laptops plugged in for months I'm guessing mine was plugged in since February based on Mfg date I read this Document ID on the Acer website I think To keep my Acer V15 Nitro, plugged in or not? there's a contradiction Please correct me if I'm wrong It says UnderOptimizing battery lifeUse AC power whenever possible reserving battery for mobile use But Under this it saysConditions that can adversely affect the batteryUsing the computer on constant AC power nbsp so should I have the laptop on AC power or not And does it make any difference if I use the AC power plugged in when possible and remove the battery alltogether as I read one article citing Acer on this The V Nitro doesn't seem to have an easily removable battery though I see some fasteners nbsp

A:To keep my Acer V15 Nitro, plugged in or not?

Hi, It's not any contradiction. If you plan to use your notebook more like a desktop, most of the time plugged in then your battery will not be very "happy". I know sounds a little bit counterintuitive but a battery which is not used, but is always maintained at full charge it will wear faster than a battery which is cycled. The point is that for a lithium ion battery to keep full charge is sort of a "stress". To maximize battery life try to use the notebook from time to time on battery (let's say once a week do a discharge and a charge). I have an V15 nitro as well and I try to use it on battery once or twice a week and after one year the battery wear level is just 6% which I don't think is high.Cycling the battery also helps the computer to read the battery acurately, thus avoiding some situations where the battery shows a different percentage than the current capacity and your notebook will shut down randomly even if windows was telling you that you still have x% of the battery.

Dear, I have Acer Aspire V 15 nitro laptop. its under warranty. I am facing problem with color dullnes. I bought this laptop so that I will get proper color while designing on photoshop or related software. The problem is that when I attach charger in my laptop then  it showed me proper bright colors without any dullness. The minute I unplugged my charger, color becomes dull and bad. I have visited acer care centre many times but sadly they are not able diagnose the problem. I have also restore windows 10 to windows 8 acc. to acer service centre direction but it didn't help. I am looking for permanent solution so that the heavy amount which I spent on this laptop will not be wasted. Looking for reply with solution. Thanks, Shivin

Hi I recently brought a Acer Vnitro (V592G-79W3) current spec:- Intel 6th Gen Skylake i7-6700HQ Quad Core Processor- Factory Default 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz Memory - Upgrade-able to 32GB max- Factory Default 2TB HDD + 1x Spare M.2 SSD bay - Upgrade-able with 120/240/480GB M.2 SSD- NVIDIA Geforce GTX960M Video Card With 4GB Dedicated GDDR5 VRAM- Windows 10 Pre-Installed- Bios version 1.11 I also recently brought a Samsung 950PRO M.2 NVMe sdd 256G. I managed reinstall windows 10 on the sdd but only under legacy mode, this was because when booting under UEFI mode the sdd drive was not bootable and did not show up as bootable. I am wondering if windows 10 is able to install on to the sdd under UEFI mode not legacy. Thanks

Hi, I have posted in the other topic where you did not write all the information. Do you have the latest BIOS version installed? Did you transfer the windows 10 from your HDD to the NvME SSD by clonning? I think in this case you will need to completely reinstall the windows not just clone it. For simple reason that for NvME SSD you will need a different EFI module than for normal booting. Also the device drivers are different.

I upgraded to windows ten, the microsoft people tell me I need a product key, which acer doesn't supply, and its 40$ for a new one. I am out of warrenty so it's atleast a hundred dollars through the acer service. I just want to be able to go back or do something to fix this I am so lost right now. I can't even run CMD in admin mode so I am more than lost to say the least

I have an Acer V17 Nitro and the Touchpad worked fine with Windows 7 but with Windows 10 it doesn't work.  In device manager under "mouse and other pointing devices" I see two "HID-compliant" mice but no touchpad.  I've tried the latest drivers from Acer but they don't help.  What can I try?

Isn't there a keypress that enables/disables the touchpad? You might give a toggle a try...

A:Install Windows 8.1 Pro on Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7...

Changing the Operating System may cause driver conflicts. The compatible drivers for Windows 8.1 will not be available in the website for this laptop. Hence, some of the features on the laptop might not work after changing the OS.  1: Since you have already created the USB recovery media from the laptop, you do not have to copy anything else other than this.  Make sure you you backup all files before installing the OS, as it will remove all data from the laptop. I see that, you have the unused Pro retail key for the OS, hence, you do not have to have the OEM product key. You need to use the product key for Windows 8.1 Pro to activate it, not the Acer OEM product key.  In the BIOS, select BOOT tab.  Select BOOT MODE as Legacy Mode instead of UEFI.Disable Secure Boot. Under Boot Priority Order, you need to select 1 as CD/DVD (if you are using disc), or USB FDD or USB HDD (if you are using USB drive) to install Windows 8.1 Pro.  Then press the F10 key and select "Yes" to save the changes in BIOS.  ->You an install Windows 8.1 Pro using my ISO and installing the drivers from the Acer support website. As said before, there may driver conflicts.  -> If you want to switch back to Windows 8.1, you may use the USB reovery drive (which created you have created from the recovery partition). When you do this, the Windows 8.1 Pro and it's product key will be removed from the laptop and the factory shipped OS, drivers, apps (and the OEM product key) will be installed automatically. You do not have to use the Windows 8.1 Pro key with Acer OEM USB reovery media.  -> You need to do a clean install using the USB recovery drive to install factory shipped Windows on the laptop.

Sorry, but it looks like only a limited quantity of these were shipped to the Microsoft store. That is the only retailer I know that carries this specific model. If they do not have any stock of this model, I do not know of another location where you could purchase it from. You may try looking at other versions of the VN7-572TG.

Ok so here is the problem. I really don't know when this started happening but it suddenly just did. Just a heads up, my laptop has not been through a heavy fall or anything like that. Sometimes the charging indicator light does not light up but the battery still shows as charging in windows. Its at 89% since the last 2 hours. As soon as i unplug the charger, the laptop just turns off and does not start without it. I can't even contact acer support since my laptop is not in warranty anymore ;/. I just did not notice it before because my laptop is usually plugged in on my desk. Please need help asap. Thx in advance

Just got it, it came pre-installed with Linpus Linux Lite so I installed Windows 8.1 on it. I used the CD that came with the PC to install the drivers. Everything worked well, but sadly, the WiFi driver just does not work. It does connect to my router, but once I try to load something, it instantly goes to limited connectivity, disallowing me to do anything. I am able to access the router panel, but the router isn't the problem here - everything works well on my Android phone. Any help?

Greetings So after 15 months of usage, my laptop fan has started to not comply with me anymore and is randomly going up too high speeds and making strained noises. It is the right fan closest to the power chord. My warranty has exceeded and thereby im turning myself to Acer's forums to see if there is someone able to help me with the troubleshooting and hopefully solving my problem. Best wishes-Antsos

Hi all: I have a problem with my laptop (model VN7-571G). After a recent Windows 10 update, now I am not able to connect the laptop to my flat  LG TV via HDMI. I think it has to be related to Intel Graphics 5500 (current driver 20.19.15.4483). When I connect the laptop to my flat TV, laptop screen goes black but TV message says "Without Conection". The HD Intel Graphic Control Panel only detects laptop screen. When I connect TV to HDMI port recognizes it for half a second, and then TV is not detected again. I cannot install Intel Drivers as I have to go to Acer webpage to get driver, which is the last version I already have. Computer was working ok till last update.Do I have to wait to get new driver from Acer when it is ready, or do I format computer and start from zero?. Thanks for your help.

A:Acer Aspire V Nitro HDMI issues

Hi, Of course you can install the latest intel driver from the intel webpage but just with a little bit of tricks. However, I cannot tell you that the latest driver from intel will solve the issue you are experiencing. Download the .zip file from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8... Then follow the instructions of jose423, which is marked as a solution from this post: http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/VN7-591G-latest-driver-2016/m-p/434317#M10190 This will install the intel driver even if you have a "custom manufacturer driver".
