I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:PC Won't link with Bose bluetooth speaker

I was able to get it to discover the speaker by resetting the bose speaker--holding the mute button for 10-12seconds. Then powering speaker back on.

OK, I've finally solved this annoying issue.

All you got to do is go Control Panel/Devices and Printers/BOSE speaker, right-click, remove device.

That finally removed every single thing about BOSE speakers. Wow, it's been 5 months 'till I solved this...

Hi:

Two things happened at once. 1) My Bose Companion 5 speakers stopped working. Computer (Windows 7) says not plugged in. When I replug it, it says it cannot recognize the speakers. At the very same time, all video conks out after a few seconds, even without sound. Netflix won't work at all, and YouTube stutters, then stops. Any ideas? Thanks...

Manually update/reinstall the audio drivers. The audio drivers are responsible for audio port detection.

Hi we've just been bought a Bose SLIII as a gift and it works great with the iPod via Bluetooth. However it was also bought so we could stream straight from the laptop to the Bose but I'm not able to connect it. I have an Acer Aspire V5-571P with Windows 8 on it. I followed the instructions with the Bose but with no success. In Bluetooth settings it recognises the Bose and says connected but only for a few seconds until it changes to not connected. What am I doing wrong?!

A:Bluetooth connection to Bose SLIII

I looked at the specs on Bose, Ipod and the Acer laptop and they all seem to be using Bluetooth 4.0. Have you made sure to turn off the Ipod's bluetooth just to assure it is not obstructing with the laptop's signal? And try rebooting both devices the laptop and Bose to see if that helps.

I have a HP Pavilion g6 and want to pair it with a Bose Soundlink Mini bluetooth speaker - it doesn't work.  Any help would be appreciated.  Very frustrating.   It paired with my iPad and iPhone easily.

A:Pairing bluetooth Bose soundlink mini

Hi,

For pairing your bluetooth Bose speaker to your computer. I have included the link 'SoundLink® Wireless Mobile speaker update' to download the actual software, and updates available. According to the page for the download, you will need to have the speaker connected to the computer with a micro USB cord.

If the above step fails to resolve the issue, I will need to know the full model number of your notebook, and what version of Windows you are running. I have included the documents 'Guide to finding your product number', and 'Which Windows operating system am I running?'.

Thank you.

A:Bluetooth speaker

In order to answer your question, could you please provide information on which Bluetooth speaker you have tried to pair? It does not only depend on your computer and its OS, even though it works on your iPhone, it's also a matter of how good Bluetooth speaker you have and how it interacts with your computer.

Hi everybody, and Happy Holidays,

I have a Micro Express desktop computer about one year old running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit), and it uses an Asus Z87-Deluxe motherboard.  I am not a big audio buff, but I am tired of using my USB headphones just to occasionally listen to YouTube, etc.  So, I am thinking about purchasing a Bluetooth speaker.  I was researching them a bit and I read many issues about needing A2DP, and the lack of a Windows 7 driver for it.  My questions are:

How do I know if I have A2DP?

Do Bluetooth speakers provide the required drivers?

Do I actually need A2DP?

Thank you all,

George

Connect the devices, one at a time. Then go to the Device Manager and display the USB section. There will probably be an Unknown device shown. If there is, RIGHT click on the entry to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall" (do not uninstall any drivers). Disconnect the device from the PC after the Uninstall. Then do the same thing for the other USB device. Restart the PC and then connect one of the devices and Windows should detect it as "new hardware" and install it. If not, run sfc /scannow (run it 3 times) and see if it finds any problem from whatever you may have deleted.

Hi @sreamer17ydr, Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you are having issues with your Bluetooth speakers in terms of reliability.  My first question to you is why do you want to use Bluetooth if you want reliable sound? Bluetooth like most wireless technologies can be affected by interference.  Bluetooth also tends to function better with a clear line of site.  the adaptor in your notebook supports a higher data transfer rate , but if the receiver is at a different Bluetooth level, you are possibly going to see some problems. As a start you can look at this.Understanding Bluetooth Wireless Technology Bluetooth is very useful but has its limitations. For some quick background info, I have a Toshiba laptop (Windows 10) and a Sony bluetooth speaker that pair perfectly together.  I recently purchased a new Dell laptop (also running Windows 10) that's having some problems with the aforementioned speaker.  When I connect them via a cable, the sound is fine.  Similarly, when I initially pair them, the sound is as expected.  However, on any subsequent pairings, the sound is incredibly tinny, and the only way to achieve a fuller sound is to remove the device, reconnect it, and restart the computer (which is apparently needed to complete the device installation, which was never required on my other laptop, even on the first time I tried to pair the laptop to the speaker).
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

My OS is Windows 7 running on an Intel i5 - 3450 CPU. It's a Dell XPS 8500 that supposedly has a built-in Bluetooth transmitter. It will not recognize my Sony RDP X200iP Bluetooth speaker.

A:PC doesn't recognize Bluetooth speaker

Does you computer documentation say anything about the Bluetooth radio hardware needing to be enabled or turned on in order to use it?

Does the speaker documentation say anything about needing to install drivers on the computer or going through any kind of mating steps to connect to the computer?

After disabling my Toshiba Bluetooth driver and rollbcking to windows 8 driver because I couldn't get to the Enhancements tab I now come to the next problem.

The bluetooth speaker connects in the Settings App but when going to Playback devices the speaker is listed as disconnected and when right clicking connect it works perfectly. Is there anything I can do to get it to connect the speaker automatically.

Could I create a batch file or change any setting to get this to work?

A:Bluetooth speaker and speakers simultaneously?

Windows will only allow one default playback device. If the Bluetooth is set as the default audio playback device, that is all you will get. There MAY be some third party application that allows more than one, but I don't know of any.

As soon as I connect the wireless speaker, the headset jack shuts off. Anyone know how/if to configure this setup? Thanks!

Hi PTTodd,

Welcome to the Sevenforums.

As designed it can produce sound either from headset or speakers. In most system if you connect headset then speakers won't work and vice versa.

If headset is connected then preferred audio output would be headset. Once headset is disconnected it would automatically switch to speakers.

Hope this information helps.

I have an Irulu Walkenbook with Windows 10/32. Neat little tablet so far, but I purchased a blue tooth speaker that works fine our Ipods and Ipad. When I start to pair on the Irulu everything looks fine. I'm shown that I am connected and the speaker is listed in the blue tooth settings page and in the Device manager. I have tried up dating drivers, but pretty much all still show 2006 as the date.

Anyone have any ideas? They would surely be appreciated.

Thank you.

Is it possible to get mic in from a Bluetooth headset, live play it through Laptop speakers/External USB Speakers?

I'm trying to make a mic-speaker combination which works without external power supply!

Also, are there any software which will simplify the whole process?

A:Bluetooth Headset mic to External Speaker via Win 7 Laptop

To me the laptop would have to be Bluetooth enabled which if it was then you could play the sound through the laptop speakers.

Adding a set of active powered speakers would then produce what you are saying on the headset.

I recently purchased a Sony SRS-X11 Bluetooth speaker (recommended by Which Magazine).
I have not been able to find a Windows driver to connect this speaker to my operating system. Can any one help or have any suggestions.

I have purchased a Bluetooth dongle which appears to be working fine: the system recognises the speaker through the dongle but when I run the set up, the system says it is looking for software updates to complete the process but that is as far as it goes because I get an error message informing me that software can not be found. I have also contacted Sony and they can't help and told me to search online for a Windows driver.

A:Driver needed to run Sony Bluetooth speaker

The bluetooth "dongle" market is a very complicated one and is full of a lot of low quality products which are often not supported, you could, ( if you can discover the information because your hardware is from a major manufacturer ), try contacting the dongle manufacturer, but these are often small 3rd world or far east companies, that appear and disappear overnight. The additional software the dongle is looking for could easily be something from a long gone affiliate of the hardware manufacturer, as it was normal for these devices to use free libraries of functions, which are no longer available.

there is a company called BlueSoleil, the most easy-to-use, innovative and interoperable Bluetooth software, Bluetooth driver which is a major player in the blue tooth market (though not a driver only source) which my support your dongle though this may mean additional costs. best way would IMHO the return the dongle and purchase something from one of the major suppliers

Edit

The following is a list of the main chipset manufacturers for Bluetooth - if you can find out the name of the Chip in your device you may be able to obtain drivers direct from one of these companies although some do not deal direct with the public it may be worth a try ( search for the company support site as the links are email addresses of sales contacts)

If I go to the bottom right hand side and right click on the volume icon, then go to playback devices the bluetooth speaker does not appear.

I tried to update my bluetooth driver and it appears that is is current and does not need to be updated.

I replaced the screen on my Pavilion dv6, and to do that I had to take off the sticker that is over the display speakers. Now I would like to replace the sticker as it doesn't sit flat against the computer. In the manual the part is named display bezel screw cover (pdf page 98, booklet page 90) On the PartSurfer, under the display options it says "Speaker mesh sticker needed". So those are the two names I have found for this item. But I do not know how to obtain it.

Did this not get an answer? I need one too and have only found price gougers wanting over $30 for the sticker. The stupid replacement screen cost only $75! Curse you HP! Hi,

On Windows 8. 1, I had no issues with this speaker. It's a JBL Charge. After upgrading to 10 it worked fine until a reboot when it failed to connect (it pairs, but won't connect, and the speaker doesn't appear as an audio-out option in Sound settings).

The Bluetooth wizard in PC Settings says "Driver error" next to the speaker icon.

Poking around in device manager, I see this error:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Conflicting Address Range}
The specified address range conflicts with the address space."

The only references I find to this error online are for different (and quite old) version of windows, and seem unrelated to Bluetooth.

I can't even look at the "resources" tab for help because it appears to have vanished in Windows 10!

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hey there,

I've tried all the normal things - online troubleshooting through Dell and Windows (running 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium), plus updating drivers, uninstall/reinstall device, checking through media software settings (VLC, iTunes) - and cannot seem to figure out why my LEFT speaker is playing at what sounds like 10-20%, versus the RIGHT one playing at 100%. No major update or change predated this issue. Simple Windows Update stuff, but I purposely don't let Windows touch my "manufacter" drivers etc.

Anyone with a clue as to what else I can try?

THANKS!

Hi folks, I've got a Pavilion dv6-3138tx, product number QC331PA#ABG. I can't work out how to enable bluetooth - I'm not sure if there was an update to my machine recently, but there's no longer a bluetooth option in my system tray. I can see the device in BIOS so it's definitley there. I've had bluetooth working on this laptop before, connected to wireless headphones, and I'd like to set it up again. Windows update is all up to date, and I can see an 'unknown device' in device manager but apparently no drivers available... any ideas?

A:Bluetooth not available on Pavilion dv6-3138tx

#HPExpertDayThe deice icon might be disabled from system tray but would be available on the device.cick on start and type 'control panel'. Choose control panel and you would see bluetooth icon there. if not then click on 'Devices and Printer' and find the icon there. You can install Network Manager for your device from dervers page:http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07165

I have recently bought brand new hp pavilion dv6 laptop. I haven't use the bluetooth feature till today when I needed to transfer a file from laptop to my mobile. But it didn't work nor is it showing in the 'discoverable' section in my mobile. I have checked everything but to no avail. The laptop does recognise the mobile device but does not connect/pair with it.

Any ideas ?

Hi  As an adminstrator, in a Command Prompt Window, typegetmacThis will list MAC addresses for those items that are present, and may not be connected.A good number would be 3,1 x Ethernet1 x Wi-Fi1 x Bluetoothand then typeipconfigand in the long list look for named devices have a matching MAC address.Along with Device manager this is a way to determine the number of devices. If in doubt please ask.

Hi all I have a desktop and a Compaq laptop both using Windows XP Pro SP I would like to connect them both using Bluetooth so I can transfer files between them I don't care about sharing the internet connection I hoped to buy an Ethernet crossover cable but I couldn't find any and I've been using a USB stick to Bluetooth 2 PCs Using Connecting very very slowly transfer files across I turned discovery on on both the PCs and used both to try and find the other to add a device and they do and also turned allow Bluetooth devices to connect on as well but they are unable Connecting 2 PCs Using Bluetooth to connect for whatever reason I tried using a custom key and letting it choose one for me but neither worked As clever as Microsoft is it doesn't tell me what the actual problem is All it says is there isn't any Connecting 2 PCs Using Bluetooth more information about it I also don't want to not use a passkey Again I don't need to share the internet connection merely transfer files between them I also tried with a small test file and it saw the other PC but then chose to fail Any help would be appreciated Thanks

A:Does my HP Pavilion g7-2275dx Notebook PC have bluetooth cap...

Hi: Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook. It does not come with built in bluetooth networking, or that feature would have been listed along with the 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN Wireless Connectivity specification. The easiest thing you can do would be to purchase an external USB bluetooth adapter. You can also try and replace the internal wireless card with one listed in the service manual for your notebook that is also a combination wireless/bluetooth card. The card must be listed in the service manual and it must have the HP part number on it or it won't work. Because your notebook has an AMD processor, you cannot install any Intel wireless cards if any are listed in the manual.

A:Unable to use bluetooth transfer in hp pavilion dm4

Well your DM4 was built for Windows 7, so it depends if HP wrote Bluetooth drivers that will work under Windows 8. A quick check of HP's support site, shows that they have updated software for the DM4 series.

Software & driver downloads HP Pavilion dm4-3055dx Entertainment Notebook PC | HP? Support

There is a Bluetooth driver under networking.

The only other thing is to check the Device Manager and see if the Bluetooth is even recognized. If it isn't listed (could be listed as a generic unknown device if the driver isn't installed), you may have a hardware problem.

Check all that and install the driver. If it is still not listed in the Device Manager, go buy a $14 Bluetooth 4.0 usb device. Asus has a great one on Amazon. It should work great and will be more up current standards since it is 4.0.
