Sager NP8130 random shut off

Q: Sager NP8130 random shut off

I was playing GTA 4 when the machine completely went blank. No shut down screen or anything of the sort. Now I'm here flabbergasted because that's never happened before and because I don't know where to start looking for the cause.

I checked the Event Viewer but I'm pretty much clueless there. Any suggestions?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Does it just randomly black out during gaming, or at any other time?

If it is only during gaming it is possibly due to overheating. Have you ever cleaned the inside of the PC?

Install this and watch the temperatures: CoreTemp

Hello all. I've just received my NP8130 notebook yesterday. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), all the drivers and a couple games (Skyrim, CoD4, Blur, NFS Undercover).

All of a sudden today the screen starts acting strange and blinking a lot and then it just blue screens! I nearly shed a tear because I spent so much on this and it's only my second day with it. I don't even know where to begin. Please, someone help me.
Also, the computer works ok in Safe Mode With Networking. And I was trying to attach the dump files but they're too big apparently, over 200kB.

A:Sager NP8130 BSOD

Hi there, have you tried installing all the latest drivers for you're video card? Also too attach the dumps all you need to do is compress the files or file into a zip. Download 7-zip and post them when you can.

While playing games my pc randomly shuts down (no video, no audio) but, the LED lights on the inside of the case, the case fans and the cpu fan are all still ON. At first i thought it may be overheating so I cleaned the inside of dust and re-applied thermal paste to the cpu heatsink. This is a very recent problem (last week or so) and nothing has changed software/hardware wise. I thought it may be the gpu (since the gpu is a tad old by now) but that wouldn't explain the loss of audio as well. My temperatures seem to be in the normal range for all hardware while idle AND playing games. Any help would be most appreciated!

Hi Everyone I have a Hp Pavillion DV laptop that I had to replace the motherboard it works wells but seems to still get very hot to a point that if the laptop is not lift to get airflow off of a table if wants to shut down The times are random maybe hour or more I can hear the fan running and the vent is clear I have cleaned the fan and vent from dust I had also put quicksilver thermal paste on the CPU and a copper shim on the video as I know that the video chip tends to overheat Other than getting a cooling fan to place underneath the laptop does anyone have any ideas how to keep this laptop cooler Or is this just another HP design flaw The vent seems alittle small to keep this size of a laptop cool By DV7 HP Shut Random down the way I am running Windows Vista home Premium Amd Dual Core GB Memory Thanks Jim nbsp

A:HP DV7 Random Shut down

Some models just run hot. What are you doing when it gets hot? If you are gaming/stressing the hardware, then the heat is understandable. If you are just browsing the internet or something not very taxing and it is getting that hot, then I'd suspect something is wrong.

Ive tried blasting a fan into my comp to make sure its not a ram problem, and it wasnt. I thought it was the power supply, so I switched with a friend. for a day or two it worked, but then it started up agian. the other comp works fine with my power supply so its not that. Im thinking its the ram but im not sure.

It could be the power supply. What all do you have on your system and how big is the power supply?

You can use this to test your RAM memtest

Hi all,
My Problem;
When I was writing a letter my computer just turned off, as if there was a power failure, which there wasn't.

When I restarted, it got about half way through the boot process when it did it again. I unplugged it for about an hour, when I booted up again, I got all the way to the end of the boot process just fine, but as soon as I moved the mouse to start a program it turned off again.

I have all the latest virus definitions everything is up-to-date. Any Ideas?
I am wondering if it may be over heating, but my fan is running properly.

I have an HP laptop, fairly new, and was just browsing the internet when it shut off. When I try to restart it, it just cuts on for a brief 1 to 2 seconds then shuts right back off. The lights come on, and the fan spins for 1/2 second before shutting off. I've already reset the computer by pressing the power button, and disengaging the battery. What else could be the culprit? Oh yeah, and I disassembled all CD/DVD'S. The only thing I couldnt get aloose was the internal network card. Screws are too tight and I don't want to strip anything. HELP!!!!

Does anyone have any experience with Sager laptops?

A:Sager laptops

JP -

I don't have any experience with Sager, but i do have a bit of notebook computer experience.

Last Spring I bought 6 laptops from Dell (for work). They are great. We only had a problem with one of them, and Dell's service was fantastic (they replaced it right away). We are very happy with the computers. They are all Dell Inspiron 4000's.

I also bought a Dell Latitude L400 for myself. It's their sub-notebook. Really light and mobile. I use it every day and can't say enough good things about it.

What are you looking for in a laptop? What would you like to spend? What will you be doing with your laptop? There are a lot of knowledgable people here and if we know what you are looking for maybe somebody can suggest something that would work for you.

Good Luck.

I have a Dell XPS 720 running a high def golf simulator... it is randomly shutting down on me...sometimes this can occur three times in an hour.. sometimes it can go for three days... no error logs.... I returned my first one because I thought it was I have another brand new machine and it is doing the same thing!!

A:Random shut downs

The Dell likely cannot handle the temperatures generated, nor the power supply demands, nor the Video Graphics, and may not have adequate memory. You will have to experiment with replacesments to each in order to figger out which is the cause. If you have 2 GB of memory, then it is one of the other three... starting with thermal paste on the heatsink, better heatsink fan that is not held down by plastics hooks. If you already have the memory, I would start with a better video graphics card.

I wasnt sure where to post this so I figured I'd just throw it here and a mod can move it if they see it nessicary. So a computer I just built was running fine with windows 7 and I had the hard drive from my old computer in it and I was transfering files from my old hard drive to my new one and my computer randomly shuts down. I tried to start it up after it shut down and it got 1/2 way through bootup and it would just turn off. Then I started it again and put it in safe mode and it worked fine. Then I unplugged my old hard drive and tried booting back into Windows 7 and it worked, I installed a few programs but then while I was downloading Firefox it shut off and now wont get past the mobo screen. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Let's start with these free diagnostics:

H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics: (read the details at the link) (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: (read the details at the link)

Then, if the above tests pass, I'd try these free stress tests:

FurMark download site:
FurMark Setup:
- If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
- In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
- Click "Quit" to exit

Prime95 download site:
Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead. (run all 3 if you find a problem and note how long it takes to error out with each)
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
This won't necessarily crash the system - but check the output in the test window for errors.
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Two other video stress tests (may be more stressful than FurMark):
Video Memory stress Test -

On restart I never receive a report or error message from windows either. System load does not seem to be a factor, it will happen when running a high-end program or while sitting idle at the desktop. system specs are..

A:Random shut-offs Help!

Shutdowns are typically a hardware issue. Most common causes would be the power supply or motherboard.

Is that a quality 750w unit, or just a random generic model? Quality is much more important than size.

A:Random shut down during start up

I'm surprised that you could install non-Dell mobo in a proprietary Dell case.

I believe you mean P4P800-E, which is the same as my friend's, which took us days to get it started. The BIOS is notorious for taking a LONG time to do a first post, and shutting down if hardware is changed.

Disconnect everything. Move them out of the case. Reset CMOS. Wait for an hour or a night. Set up the psu, mobo, cpu, one stick of ram, video, monitor, speakers and NO keyboard and mouse. Power it up. Hear the female voice or beep. See what it means in the manual. Power off, disconnect psu. Connect keyb & mouse, psu. Power on. It might shut down in "protest". If it did, good, it means it doesn't like the hardware change. Restart this process WITH keyb & mouse.

Warm boot takes a few secs like other boards. Cold boot takes minutes. Have patience. I wouldn't buy this board ever.

My other computer randomly shuts down anywhere from being on for 5 minutes to an hour or so.

I'm pretty sure it's not overheating, It runs at about 39-42c.

I ran Spybot S&D, it found like 2 things.

I also ran Adaware, it found 1 thing.

I updated both before using also.

Im not sure what else to do to find out what is causing the shut downs.

Thanks in Advance.

I recently have been having issues with my computer crashing and then pulling up a screen that says "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." Based on another thread on this site, I copied my registry files for the mini dump, and attached them in a zipped folder to this post. If someone could analyze them and tell me what's wrong, that would be awesome! I'm a college student, so if my computer keeps crashing, it's a big problem! Thanks!

Hi Greg,

Quick question - Do you, or did you ever use Norton AV?

Cheers, Crit.

Hi Ted -

Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - XP Support!

There is a possibility that prior to the restarts the system is actually crashing. Check to see if there are any memory dump files. If so, I can analyze them and provide you with a probable cause.

If they exist, their location would be:

c:\windows\minidump\ - the dump files will be named similar to "Mini040108-01.dmp".

Please let me know if you find any and what the dates of the files are (i.e., if they are recent).

Regards. . .

With a laptop, my first thought would be heat.

What are the system temps?

Have you cleaned the intake/exhaust vents with air?

Does the laptop do the same thing on battery power and AC?

Does it do the same thing in safe mode?

Hi If someone could help? I just took over a homemade desktop. It has xp pro installed. p-4with 512mb and a asus-p4r800v motherboard. The problem is that it seems to maybe heat up a bit. or if it tries to work hard it just shuts down. Example is on disk cleanup it scans ok yet when it tries to clean it starts then shuts-off. It has a temp guage on front of unit. What is the right temp? It now reads 77.1 is this goog or bad Please help with any programs to check these problems if there are any. Go slow cause that the only way I know THANKS FOR THE HELP?

A:Solved: Random Shut Down

that would be bad 77.1
a P4 should be much lower than that - My AMD has a warning set for 60 and will such down at 70

so I suspect a few things - may be wrong
1) The PC is full of dirt and dust and the fans etc need a good clean
2) The fans are not working correctly
If this has been the case since first built
3) The thermal paste was not put on correctly on the install
4) The CPU heatsink/fan is not correct for that PC

Sorry, but I'm a newbie at this....I have been having random shut downs on my new all in one (Gateway) and don't know if you would call that a BSOD?
When I come back to my pc I have to start over (start up button on side) and I get a small blue window that encourages me to send details to Microsoft....these files will be sent:
Should I follow the BSOD posting instructions, or is this an issue for a different area?
Thanks for your assistance.

Hello PalmettoQuilter, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Yes, please follow the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions, and post back with the needed information.

Hopefully someone will be able to help soon afterwards.

My Computer is randomly shuting down. No common cause. seems that I have a lot of programs running in the background using a lot of memory space.

I've been using just the XP firewall and e-trust realtime monitoring.

Actually the only time it seems to be shuting down is when we try to run to many programs or high memory demanding programs.

I have a dell Inspiron 1150 on XP, and it works great... but sometimes when I run a big process such as a virus scan, or Adobe Premiere for a long time, my computer will randomly shut off without notice. But it only shuts off when my laptop is plugged in. When it is running on batteries, it wont shut off on me. WHY? I'm thinking it could be the power source / cord? Using everest I found the temps of the two sensors in the laptop. One temp is 66F, the other is 117F. Is there anything abnormal there? One temp seems average, I think one looks high, but I'm not sure. Right now I am on AC power, but I'm not running any large processes. Thanks for the help!!

A:Computer Random Shut Off?

When running on batteries, your CPU will be speed-stepped down and running cooler.

On AC, its running full speed.

So that really does suggest a temperature issue. No way to tell in Everest what those temperatures relate to, or if the program even correctly recognises the temperature sensors (which are not accurate anyway). The temperatures listed are not a concern, wherever they actually are. They appear to be HDD temps, you need CPU temps.

Google suggests that overheating is not uncommon for this laptop.,GGLC:en&q=Inspiron+1150+overheating

So I have the same problem with my laptop computer shutting off by itself. It is a Lenovo 3000, N200, about 1 year old. It randomly shuts off while I am using it, this has occurred about 7-8 times in the past 3 weeks. Does the same advice apply, should I try to open it up somehow and clean it out? Recently, when I turn the computer on, BIOS does not start but everything else in the computer looks and runs as if usual. And when the computer does boot BIOS properly, it generally shuts down about 0~5 minutes afterwards, sometimes even during BIOS. After it shuts down, the screen turns black, but all the lights and fans in my computer still run, as if everything else was normal.

Also, I am very sure that it is not a software problem or a heat problem. Thanks in advance to all the help!

A:Solved: Random Shut down.....

When you were presented with the recovery console what did you do then? Did you get back to Windows ok? Only thing I can think of is the hard drive overheated. The CPU usually keeps cool because it has a heatsink and fan, the hard drive has moving parts and gets very hot. If it was left on that long its not unusual for a hard drive to overheat especially on an older hard drive.

Keep an eye on your system. Possibly Windows just installed updates and restarted your pc for all we know lol. Shut it down every night and open up your system and see how hot your hard drive is. If its very warm get a hard drive cooler for it. Do a search on Amazon.

Hope this helps..

About 2 weeks ago my computer started doing random shut downs and restarts. No BSOD.
When rebooting it goes through a chhdsk, fixes some files and goes into win xp. Virus programs didn't show anything.
A few times it would go through this cycle again as soon as win xp started. Other times it would be OK for a while and do it again. Or it would be OK for a day or 2.
Even after the machine was shut off for a couple of days win xp made it to the desktop and shut down and restarted after chkdsk and was Ok for a while.

Thanks, glass

Hi all

I recently upgraded the CPU in my laptop (the specifics aren't important). It runs better than it ever has before! Well, at least it does for around 30 minutes. It's developed a lovely habit of randomly and unexpectedly shutting off.

Now, I know that the CPU is compatible with the motherboard; the fact that my laptop actually runs proves this.

I'm wondering what the issue could be?

My main suspicion is heat. The laptop is running at about 50-55 degrees on average; is this normal? I've cleaned out all of the airways and the fan; it's all running normally and the fan varies in speed depending on workload and temperature. This leads me to believe that the problem might lie somewhere else.

I've searched nearly every forum going but everyone just yells about overheating. Could someone please advise me to any theories they may have and help me fix the problem

A:Random Shut offs

Sounds pretty much as heat issues to me. I have also once upgraded a laptop cpu and even tho the clock speed increased by only 300MHz it got heat issues. I had to have a separate notebook cooler for that to run.
Anyways, the specs would help us to find what sort of temps your comp. should run on...and does it just randomly die when you idle or does it die after you have been using it for a while?

So, a few months ago I bought a Dell inspiron 5552 laptop and in the past month or two I have been dealing with problems which are becoming VERY frequent. At random times, especially when I'm gaming, my laptop switches off - even when my laptop is cool. I downloaded Piriform's Specci and here are the results I got for the following hardware (Celsius): CPU 51, Motherboard 52, Hard drive 38 - These are the results on balanced and Dell battery life extender enabled. I've seen videos of dusting a laptop's ventilation system however their temperatures didn't seem to make a significant difference so I didn't try it. Any ideas?

A:Random shut-downs

Most probable issue is still the cooling and secondly too much power drain via graphics adaptor.

Shutdowns are typically a hardware fault. Most common causes are the motherboard or power supply.

Hi and welcome to TSF.

My name is Iain and I will be helping you clean your system.

Apologies for any delay in replying, but we have been rather busy lately, and, of course, all our helpers are volunteers.

You may wish to Subscribe to this thread (Thread Tools > Subscribe to this thread) so that you are notified when you receive a reply.

Please read these instructions carefully and then print out or copy this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the fix. You should not have any open browsers or live internet connections when you are following the procedures below.

Note that the fix may take several posts. Please continue to respond to my instructions until I confirm that your logs are clean. Remember that although your symptoms may vanish, this does NOT mean that your system is clean.

If there is anything you don't understand, please ask BEFORE proceeding with the fixes.

Please ensure that you follow the instructions in the order I have them listed.

Please do not install or uninstall any programmes, or run any other scanners or software, unless I specifically ask you to do so.

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

Please read all the information carefully!

You MUST disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications - please read this thread as a guide. They may otherwise interfere with our tools and interrupt the cleansing process.

Please include the log C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.

Today would of been great day if my dell had been working. Earlier today I was using the computer and while browsing my computer shut off. I immediately tried to turn my computer on and ask the chkdsk screen appeared everything seemed fine. After a few minutes into it, it shut off again and the same problem has been going on. Anyone know what's wrong? The highest percentage I received during chkdsk was 90%.

A:Random Shut offs

Try running checkdisc in safe mode.

Is this a laptop or a desktop? How old is it and when was the last time it was cleaned - internal dust removed?

Shutdowns as you described can be attributable to heat buildup, a failing power supply or even a failing hard drive.

A:WoW crashing on Sager np9150

Are you using the notebook FLAT on a hard surface? That's the way they should be, not on your lap or pillow or...

Sounds like you are overheating and should get one of these: - Cooler Master Laptop Cooler Model Notepal i300 R9-NBC-300L-GP

Check all the vents and use compressed air from the side to get rid of excess dust, and if it really is bad, I'd take it to a repair shop for a thorough cleaning, not an uncommon issue, at all.

Check the RAM sticks for dust and dirty contacts and reseat also, of course with NO power including removing battery. Only hold at the edges and don't build up static or use a wrist strap for ESD purposes, cost $5.

Problems are so common on laptop gamers as they get close to 1 1/2 years old, that you should not want the risk of a failed component then find the laptop company has gone out of business because of the bad economic climate.

Well MSE is okay if your intending to also use MBAM Premium= Malwarebytes as well there are still some lifetime licenses available which is a one time payment that does not renew costs 40-50.00 u.s. up front but these buggers are going like hotcakes so hit Amazon/ Newegg soon before they're all gone

Panda is good too but MBAM is also recommended for which ever you decide to use,

It only started BSODing after I returned from a trip to Nashville where I had been playing on it during the car ride (mind you the car ride back, and briefly). Since then it may have BSOD twice, maybe 3 times in 2 months and I didn't really think too much of it. However, in the last 2 days it has BSOD 7-8 times each stating a MEMORY-MANAGEMENT error. It will always BSOD after I use Firefox for a bit, and always after Firefox itself crashes. The BSOD will, thus, always happen after something else has crashed program wise. If there is any other information I can provide I will do so as well.

After my previous post I ran the verifier and it did BSOD on me. I included both bsod's, that did occur, minidumps and also threw in the others that have happend today as well.

Having said that, if you plan to game, get a desktop PC. You will get much more for the money. If you need a laptop, get a normal laptop and save your money. The gaming models, aside from being portable, aren't much use as an actual laptop as they generally have very short run time on battery. For $4000 (or likely less) you could have a decent gaming desktop and a normal laptop.

Hi, I just received my new laptop yesterday. I have not experienced any issues through out the day except it just randomly shuts down. It even happens when the adapter is plugged in. But it has happened a couple time when I was in the windows 8 app store, browsing on internet explorer, updating guild wars 2, and when I was spectating a game of league. I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing the same issues or have any solutions.

My in-laws PC, which I built for them, has recently started to shut down on it's own. They also claim that sometimes it will not boot up. I have it back at my house, and it seems to be running fine. I let it run overnight, ran it through some benchmarks to stress it, and it seemed fine.

I see in the Event Viewer, under system, there are a number of critical errors relating to unexpected shut downs. My question is this. If the system shut off due to excessive heat, would that trigger a specific error in the Event Viewer, or would it just give the unexpected shutdown error?

My HP Notebook, a Pavilion zt1250, started just shutting off. I called HP and the tech said to disconnect power cord and remove battery, then hold down power button for 2 minutes and let go, hook up and turn on. And this works for several hours and then the problem returns. Anyone know why this helps and better still, how to fix it for good.

A:Random Shut Down, Long Start Up

Shutting down the computer randomly is usually caused by over heating or a bad PSU. Start by blowing all the fans out with compressed air. Especially the Processor fan and Heat Sync. Then go into the Bios and post the Voltages, Temps and Fan Speeds.
For slow running computers: Uninstall all programs that are not needed. Download CCleaner and delete temp files, run Registry Cleaner too. Defrag computer.

Already tried reinstalling, this hasn't fixed the issue. So I've been working on trying to solve this issue for a few weeks, running Windows 10 and the whole thing just shuts down instantly with no warning once in a while. It's not something that happens after a few minutes. Tried replacing the power supply, checked my cpu and disk drives, I have no idea what the issue is. Can anyone help out here? Checking through event logs and the most I can find is the kernel message saying it shut down unexpectedly, if I can get some help I'm willing to post any other specs if needed.

Like the title says, my computer randomly shuts off while running games. First noticed while experimenting with Aion, a few days later it also occurs with Star Wars: The Old Republic, something it hadn't done before.

The program files don't include any duplicate files (which I thought may be a problem. Aion did have a duplicate initially, and the deletion of this file appeared to fix the problem, though it returned the next day.)

Further research has indicated that the CPU maybe overheating, or the the PSU is failing. I'm not "techy" enough to know if it is the PSU, so I thought I'd ask for help.

Additionally, when the computer shuts down, there is no warning, just a black screen and then the keyboard lights and fans stop running roughly 5s afterwards.

Attached is the Speccy file of my computer's current state.

I just moved into a new apartment. My computer was fine but since hooking it up in the new one it randomly shuts down. I just replaced my power supply a couple months ago. The fans are all running normally. I booted up in safe mode and it seems to be running normally. Last night I ran a full scan on Kaspersky but when I tried to look at it this morning the computer shut down. Am going to run a full scan with Malwarebytes then Kaspersky again. Since my power supply is new and the comp is running in safe mode I am assuming its some sort of software problem and that I didn't just jiggle something loose when I moved it? Any ideas? I'm not that tech savvy but I can't afford to take it to someone to fix right now and I need it for online classes.

Hi and welcome to TSF ;

What version of Kaspersky AV/IS ?

If you have 2012 Kaspersky it will conflict with MalwareBytes.
Just uninstall Malwarebytes. Also go to Windows Update check your updates too.Might be a software or hardware issue. But you can go CMD and run

c:\sfc /scannow Also you can run c:\chkdsk /r too

Good and Free system security combination.
Download and install the security setup of your choice, update the software, and then run a full scan of your system for viruses and malware. If you only install MSE, I would also suggest installing and updating Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download, but do not start the free trial/full version of Malwarebytes. Run a full scan with Malwarebytes after updating it. Post back the results.

Hello !

I had wondows 7 ultimate running on my internet machine for 2 weeks. Almosi every day 3 or 4 times a day i would get a completely blank dislplay and then the machine would shut down. There were no critical errors that i could find.

So i installed Ubuntu 12.04 on the same machine with no changes at all. Ubuntu 12.04 is very resource intensive. After 48 hours of running not one crash , blank screen, or any other major problem.

I had the same windows 7 problem on my self built and the dell gx280 i had it installed on. Same problem completely different machines.

I do not think i will be going back to windows , as the experience stated above explains windows 7 is still in need of a lot of development work. When i ran win95 second edition was the last time i have experiences with windows like i have had with windows 7.

Good luck with all you folks that can get it running properly.

A:Blank Screen then random shut down

Sorry to hear about your problems with Windows 7. Millions of computers are using this OS without incident. The fact you can run Ubuntu without incident would seem to rule out any hardware problems. So from my perspective, it sounds more like the Windows 7installation got borked rather than some built-in problem with Windows 7. Perhaps there was a power glitch during the install, or the install media itself was dirty or scratched resulting in damaged or corrupt system files. You could check these files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are noted run the scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Or you could try a repair install.

Repair Install

Or as a last resort use a different Ultimate install disk to rule out a bad install media. But until you try these steps I think it's very premature to say Windows 7 has development issues. IMHO.

Title sums it mostly. I built my new dream computer and it has been everything except a dream just a big headache. These random shut offs are only happening when I play steam games nothing else. I can play World of warcraft and Wildstart just fine, but when it comes to Saints row, Dead Island, Lego Marvel super hero's and Skyrim I can get into the game, play it for a few minutes and then bam everything goes black with no BSOD and then I will wait a few seconds and it will power itself back on. I cannot figure out why this is happening so I am turning to the pros! Thanks for the help in advance!
