Preferred Solution: Can my motherboard support this GPU?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Can my motherboard support this GPU?

yes, but the better question is can your PSU handle the GPU? What size/model PSU do you have? Also see if the GPU will fit into your case because its long.

Some how my old friend managed to upgrade my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 with that chipset driver CD I gave him. I don't know how he did it. I would ask him but he moved to Germany. Anyway I've heard you can run the setup with Windwos Vista compatiblity mode but I don't know if it is safe. Anyone know?

A:Motherboard support CD does not support your operating system

Download the drivers from the manufacturers website. The driver CD is likely outdated anyway.

I have an INTEL D945GCNL motherboard.there are two slots for RAM.Currently 1Gb DDR2 ram is installed in slot A.
i wish to upgrade the memory to 3gb.i recently bought a single chip of 2gb ddr2.
but the intel website says maximum supported ram for the mobo is 2gb.
when i inserted the ram the OS detected it.(got both vista & xp).
there wasn't a considerable increase in performance though.(gaming etc.)
the new chip speed is 800. first chip has a speed of 667.
there might be a problem with dual channel feature also.
is 3gb possible on this board?
shall i continue using the new chip along with the old one or shall i return the 2gb chip and get a 1gb and settle for a total of 2gb ?

A:Motherboard RAM support

From what i have read, that motherboard will only support 2gig of ram.
What has happened is by mixing the two speeds of ram, the system is running at the lower speed.
So your best bet will be to remove the 1gig stick and only use the 2gig stick.

I have an ECS 741GX-M motherboard and I found a used Athlon XP 2600+ that I was thinking about buying, but I just want to be absolutely certain this CPU will work on my motherboard before I purchase the chip. The ECS website - http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Produc...0&LanID=9&DetailID=422&DetailName=CPU Support lists the Athlon XP 2600+ as supported, but there are 3 different versions of this chip as far as I can tell. The chip I'm looking at is the XP 2600+ with the Barton core, a slightly lower clock speed, 333MHz FSB, and the 512K cache - but this particular version is not listed on the website above, only the two versions with the 256K cache are listed. I would expect this chip to work, but I just want to be certain. Can anyone tell me for certain whether this CPU will work on my motherboard or not? Thanks.

A:Will my motherboard support this CPU?

They probabkly left it off then list, but the list does have other 333Mhz FSB Barton's listed so I see no reason why this one wouldn't work.

I thought that all modern BIOS included support for the on boot function "F11 - Invoke Boot Sequence Menu".

I am now told that this is not the case and that many new motherboards do not support the F11 on boot option. In addition I have also been advised that some current BIOS versions have no on boot option facility at all and that the only way to change the boot sequence is to actually change the settings in the BIOS.

Can any Forum member confirm (or not) that the above is in fact true.

So I just want to know if it's possible to go over 4 on this board.

A:Can this motherboard support 8 harddrives?

While I can't get your link to work, the text in the link would suggest it's an Asus P4P800E-Deluxe. If this is the correct motherboard, then yes- you can have more then 4 drives with this model. I have a few of these and they come highly recommended... just good luck finding one. hehe.

It has an Intel ICH5/5R chip which has:
2xUDMA (4 IDE/ATA drives total)
2xSATA (2 SATA drives)

It also has an on-board Promise controller that adds:
1xUDMA (2 drives total)
2xSATA (2 SATA drives)

Keep in mind the above controller(s) arrangement! If you're planning on having four SATA drives in a single raid volume, it will NOT work. You can, however, have 2xSATA RAID 0/1 (Promise), and another 2xSATA RAID 0/1 (ICH5R) volume and then use Windows to combine the volumes.

Your 2800 CPU falls in the category "AMD Athlon XP up to 3000+ @ 333MHz FSB".
Meaning you can run it on the Tiger mobo without any problems. Just get the appropriate optimal memory for that bus-speed

If your Mobo book of words says yes, then it means yes!

You cannot crossfire a graphics card, such as the one you have, with any onboard graphics native to the mainboard AFAIK... all references to crossfire refers to use of both graphics slots and a crossfire bridge connector...

Hi!

I have a P4M80-M7A motherboard currently running with a Pentium D 2.8ghz CPU. I get massive bottlenecks when I run Vista with it, so I was thinking of upgrading the CPU to the fastest CPU that will run with the motherboard.

I need some help interpreting these specs:

http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=P4M80-M7A+v7.x

The website says it supports Pentium 4 and Celeron processors. The manual says "supports Intel Pentium 4 processors up to 3.8ghz). What specifically does that mean? Is the Pentium D part of the Pentium 4 family?

I suppose THE question I need help answering is, with this motherboard, what's the fastest CPU I can throw on, regardless of brand/make/model?

Sorry, I used to be real handy with PCs back in the late 90s but all this new stuff has gotten me confused!

Thanks!

Hello SF.

I'd like to connect a TV with an HDMI cable, in an HDMI input in the motherboard. However, it doesn't really get any sort of signal. I'd connect it to the gfx-card if it actually had an ordinary HDMI input instead of the mini-HDMI.
I tried downloading the latest vga-drivers on ASUS' website, but without luck. I've also tried to plug out the main monitor connected to the gfx-card and just having the HDMI in the Motherboard, to the TV- but again without luck.

To make a long story short, how do I use the display inputs in my ASUS Motherbaord.

(Check my specs).
Best Regards,
FredeGail.

A:Advice on Motherboard and CPU Support

If you mean you have a 450 watt power supply, that's plenty unless you have a very powerful graphics card. I'm assuming it is a reliable brand and in good shape.

In your situation, I would go with 32 bit Windows.

Leave BIOS settings at default until you get it up and running well. After that, maybe make some changes and maybe not.

2 GB of RAM is OK. You might or might not notice the difference if you added more, depending on what you do with the PC.

I would definitely NOT download a new BIOS unless you have a specific problem with the existing BIOS. Flashing a BIOS is serious business and not to be done without a good reason. What is your good reason?

I don't know anything about that motherboard.

I was wondering if my motherboard could take a 6600 PCI. How do i check?
I purchased this pc around 2 years ago.

A:Does my motherboard support PCI cards?

I assume you mean a PCI-E graphics card since an Nvidia 6600 doesn't come in a PCI model. The answer is no, your motherboard supports AGP graphics cards. Nvidia 6600s come in AGP models, however.

They will work, however, I suggest a power supply of 500+ Watts, the 430 may not be sufficient.

What I'd like to know is whether my motherboard can support a drive of this size?

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks in advance,

A:Motherboard which support i7 and Quad Core

Gigabyte have some nice motherboards, i7 is LGA1156 socket so you can see which motherboards support i7 and even download the motherboard manual, full marks to Gigabyte for making this information available.
You should also know that Intel i7 are predominantly 6 core processors. Here's a link if you want to compare Intel and AMD:

On a laptop you can only attach additional harddrives via USB or if you have a PCI-e slot. For the latter you need a PCI-e card - one like these:

I just bought a new computer which came with the standard exhaust fan at the inside back of the case. However, on the sliding side panel which allows access to the interior hardware there is a grid and screw holes that would accommodate a second 80mm case fan. But like most motherboards , this one only has ports for the CPU fan and only one case fan. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to add a second case fan given this limitation? I live in the Southwest and the ambient temperature around an operating system can be pretty brutal in the summer months so the more cooling power the better. Thanks for any suggestions.

A:will the h8-1425a motherboard support a GTX960 4gb

@Darklight11?, welcome to the forum. The first thing that you should do is assure that your motherboard has UEFI instead of a Legacy BIOS.  I believe that it does because the computer came with Win 8. Here is a video card that should work nicely in your motherboard.  Look in the "Specifictaions" section for all of the specs on the card.  It requires a 400W PSU and requires one additional 6-pin power connector.  It has a DisplayPort so it would be capable of UHD resolutions.  I have a 28" UHD monitor that is amazing.  I always recommend a PSU that has at least 100W more than the card requires.  This will give you plenty of power for peak usage.  You may be able to find the card for less money. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Is there a specific component on that motherboard that you're having problems with? I can't imagine that the motherboard is not "compatible" with linux - in fact, I've found threads with people using Ubuntu with that mobo. I also find it odd that you'd have a Windows Vista issue with that mobo since most of the users I see online who use it are running Vista or 7 64-bit. Perhaps you have a faulty motherboard and it's not a problem with the model itself.

First off this desktop is no longer standard. I have upgraded the power supply, graphics card and CPU. I currently have the stock Motherboard which is the HP Orchid-S (MS 7906). I have previously upgraded the CPU to a Athlon X4 860K. This CPU is not listed in the supported  processors for that motherboard but works perfectly. Unfortunately my GPU is severly bottlenecked by this CPU so I was looking to upgarde. First I looked at overclocking my current CPU, but of course HP BIOS does not allow this and when I tried AMD Overdrive, that just ended in disater. So I have two options.  1. Upgrade my Motherboard to support a AM3+ CPU and replace my CPU with a FX 8320. 2. This would be my prefered option as money is very tight. Upgrade my CPU to the X4 880K with my current Motherboard. But does anyone know if this CPU would be compatible?

A:does intel motherboard DG31PR support usb HID

Sure, pretty much all computers support USB HID devices such as keyboards and mice. And its really more up to the operating system then the motherboard. Full support of any special keys on the keyboard or mouse may still require additional drivers from the manufacturer, such as IOGEAR, which come with the device if needed or are available to download.

P.S. HID stands for Human Interface Device, of which the most common are mice, keyboard, joysticks, game pads, remote controls, and the such.

That's a Gateway-specific motherboard, Intel have no information about it on their site. From looking at similar boards you should be able to run a P3-450 (Katmai, not Coppermine), which is what the Intel SE440BX goes up to. Hello, i have an ECS P4IBAS Motherboard and was wondering if it can support a 160GB hard drive. The bios is Award Modular BIOS 6.00PG v1.1 and the motherboard has the Intel 845 Chipset. I currently have an 80gb hard drive which is about to fail (it has a very high reallocated sector count) and i really want to get a bigger hard drive as 80gb isnt enough for me anymore. Thanks, Nissanman.

A:Hard Drive Support For ECS P4IBAS Motherboard?

Yes, depending on the OS. The Award BIOS will handle it. But, unless you use XP Service Pack 2 or 3, your maximum size per partition is 132 gb before formatting or 128, or so, after formatting.
Best thing to do is format it with whatever OS you have, then extend the partition with a partition manager such as PartIt, Norton Ghost, Acronis, or the like.

Greetings, i have a motherboard asrock G41C-GS that has slots for both DDR2 and DDR3. The thing is that it works perfectly fine with DDR3 memory, but gives 3 long beeps when you insert any module of DDR2. i tried various memory modules that work perfectly fine with all other computers.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get it to work?
Thanks!

If you're running Windows 8, do:
1) Start -> PowerShell
2) run PowerShell as Administrator
3) run the command ?confirm-SecureBootUEFI?
if it returns TRUE, you have Secure Boot. Otherwise you don't.

If you don't have Windows 8, you can check whether Secure Boot is supported by running the Upgrade Assistant:
Upgrade to Windows 8 - Microsoft Windows

Please mention which motherboard you have, thanks.

Hi again

Can this mb support this ram?:

1024MB Stick, 6-Layer PCB, CAS 3.0, 128x4 Configuration (High Density), 184 Pin, DDR Memory

I went to the website but I didn't see anything that mentions if the ram can be high density...and the site doesn't really give extensive ram specifications anyway just a list of ram sticks that only reach up to 512mb that are compatible (didn't see information on if it should be CAS 2.5 or 3.0 or what either), but im sure I can have a 1024 mb stick as my board supports up to 3GB of RAM. I just want to know if the specific RAM mentioned above will work on my motherboard because I've read that this motherboard can be touchy when it comes to RAM...

That does not seem very probable. What's the source of this information?

Both ASUS and Gigabyte are great brands. Just get the board that comes in cheaper as long as they have the same feature set.

Yesterday I had a PC technician around to see why my PC was not booting-up properly and also to change my SSD to a larger SSD. As I am visually challenged I cannot do hardware upgrades etc, so I got a Techie guy in.

We used Zinstall HDD by-the-way and I would highly recommend this application for such a job plus, it is extremely fast.

Anyway, while he was diagnosing my boot-up issue he discovered I had a malfunctioning network card; while removing this, he noticed all the SATA settings were set to SATA 2.

When he reset these to SATA 3, the PC would not start-up! When he set them again to SATA 2 there was no problem and it worked fine?

Can anyone illuminate me on this please?

Thanks for any/all imput

A:SATA 3 not working on Asus P6X58D-E motherboard with SATA III support

Many people have had issues with the Marvell controller on that MB.
You may want to live with SATA 3g/s. Easiest path, no real difference except for benchmarks, and no chance of data loss.
But in case you're not satisfied with that, here's something to look at.

We are Dell resellers and had placed an order for 43 Laptops - Dell Latitude 3560 with Dell on 13th June, 2016. We delivered them to our customer on Friday 17th June, 2016. On Monday 20th June we discovered that all the Laptops are faulty and are not functioning properly. They have not been able to use a single system due to touchpad issues in the entire lot
We have made innumerable calls Dell to resolve the problem, but the team is unable to identify and rectify the problem.
We have spoken to our partner account manager, regional account manager, Service Specialist and Escalation Team, requesting them to provide us with a solution at the earliest as their work is getting hampered. Our customer has to deploy the same by 1st July however they do not have any Dell Laptops functioning correctly.
How do we escalate this to the Dell management and get a replacement ASAP

Started about a month ago - pops up over and over and over and over - about every five minutes or less.  I've got a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 Professional.  Another forum said to just uninstall Dell Support Center (Support Center Software) - but when I try to uninstall it - THE SAME STUPID WINDOW POPS UP ASKING ME TO INSERT THE SOFTWARE.  I tried doing a Browse and it's looking for DSC20.msi.  I haven't managed to find it yet.  I have at least found \Program Files(x86)\Dell Support Center but there's so many sub-directories...
I shouldn't have to be jumping through so many hoops just to uninstall a program.  This is driving me crazy and I haven't found an answer online yet.

This is a General question regarding the end of support for XP. I realise at the end date the computer should be backed up in case you have to format the disc at any time after the end of the support period.

My question is does the built in Windows back up in XP when backing up the system include the installed updates? Or is it best to use third party software to do this.

shipboard

A:[SOLVED] End ofThis is a general question regarding the end of support for XP support

I believe Windows just backs up your personal files and won't do the entire OS. You'll need a 3rd party program to do the entire HDD.

Also you really should think about upgrading to Windows 7. Staying on XP after the end support date is not recommended as you will lose security updates from Microsoft as well as patches.

Hi (a post after a long time)
I've a F90M motherboard (with intel 915G chipset - i gues chipset doesn't have to do anything with front panel connections, but ... ). It came out of Acer 3700GX PC (i think its a bit old ).
Ok, now i'm trying to put it in a standard larger ATX casing. I've fitted it in and everything works fine except the front panel connections. I cannot identify the front panel connections and could only manage to identify the power switch pins on the motherboard.

I've searched over internet and couldn't find a manual of the motherboard (found manual for the PC on www.nodevice.com but it doesn't tell how to connect front panel)

so can you guys please suggest me the connections for front panel LEDs, Audio and USB.

and i really believe that you TSG guys are up to it

Thanks in advance

I've been looking for the front panel pin layout on the Dell Dual Xeon Motherboard with Dell P/N: 0WN7Y6 (it is a # zero, W, N, #7, Y, #6).
The front panel connector is 27-pin...28 spots with one pin left blank. The pin layout isn't included in the manual and I'm trying to boot two of these motherboards without the 27-pin connector. I just need to know which pins need to be jumpered in order to test for boot to BIOS.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I could use some creative customer service here. My M3800 shipped with the known power-on motherboard defect. It was replaced at no charge, which was very nice. However, the replacement (2nd motherboard!) is now having the same intermittent dead / no power problem.
To get the computer running, I have to remove the case (12 screws) and un-plug the internal battery to 're-set' the electrical fault. After I put it back together, the computer starts normally. This is not very convenient, especially when meeting with new clients.
The problem is that I am being told I am outside the 3-month repair warranty. I think this stinks! It's a known issue and I would like someone at Dell to step up make my expensive computer work normally all of he time.
Yes, I have run every diagnostic known to man and the internet.
