Enable Bluetooth in BIOS (ASUS Laptop)

Q: Enable Bluetooth in BIOS (ASUS Laptop)

My bluetooth stopped working in my ASUS Q302LA. Bluetooth doesn't even show in the Settings>Devices in Win 10. In Device Manager, under Microsoft LE Enumerator, Properties, it states "Device cannot start, Code 10." I clean installed win10 and am getting the same result, which leads me to think it is a BIOS problem. Any ideas.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey all,

I'm having some trouble with my ASUS BIOS. It is possible one of the reasons which is not letting me enable AGP Texture Acceleration (from DXDIAG). So now I need to update it. Ive read that you can 'flash' this however it seems quite complicated. I read the procedure here - Personally i dont think i have that ability to literally take apart my PC and dont want to risk that. Is there anything I can do to enable AGP Texture Acceleration w/o updating bios?

I have tried many driver versions. Here is my info

ASUS A8V Deluxe Mobo
Chipset VIA K8t800 pro
southbridge VT8237
CPU: AMD Athlon 64+ 3500+ Socket 939
Current BIOS version : 1017.002 (date: 11/14/2005 - very old)
GFX is a ATI Radeon 9600 Series

Any help si appreciated. thanks in advance.

A:Update ASUS A8V Deluxe BIOS to enable AGP Texture Acceleration? Help!

Hi, linkzor. I looked up your motherboard on the Asus site, and the bios updates they have listed for your motherboard are not even worth upgrading to. They don't list anything about fixing agp texture acceleration, either. However, if you still want to flash your bios, simply visit the asus support website, download their auto-flash bios tool and your bios, and it does everything for you. you do NOT need to take apart your pc.

Also, Perhaps your video card does not support agp texture acceleration?

my laptop keyboard broke down a while ago, as of now, i don't have extra money for me to be able to replace it. now im using USB keyboard only, since my current keyboard doesn't have a fn key in it, i can't open the shortcut for the bluetooth using the keyboard.

1. is there any other way to open/enable it without using the keyboard?
2. i also can't see the BLUETOOTH device in the Device Manager, is that normal?

**i can use my bluetooth before my laptop broke down. and i saw in another forum that if you cant enable the bluetooth physically, the windows will not detect it but the forum is abt windows tablet so im not sure if it also applies with laptops.

i'm trying to figure which bios i should be using from the asus website. the laptop is asus k52n running windows10 x64 pro. the current bios reads v2.13, dated 08/21/2010.

the asus website has nothing listed for windows 10. there is a choice between "windows 7 32/64" and "others". the listing for windows 7 x64 is described as v2.30.3 which would seem to be a newer version, however it is dated as 07/14/2010 which is older than my current version. the "others" listing is described as v3.12 and dated 11/24/2010, which is definitely more recent than my current version.

i'd appreciate some advice on which to choose. i've been having some bs(od) issues for some time and i'd like to see if a bios change would help. here's a link to the asus driver webpage:

Silly question, but is there a switch on your laptop to switch the IR on and off? Have a look.

Forgive me if this seems insulting, but when I've tried to sort out wireless issues on laptops before, the problem tends to be that the person hasn't got the switch set to "On".

I had a hard time setting it up and I think it was when I eventually went into the setup menu before windows launched and enabled bluetooth device that it worked. Now it doesn't appear to have ANY options for me to configure my computer. There are boot options and an option to reset to default. I've tried both. Also, when I go to system information my bluetooth ID is blank. When windows launches in my wireless assistance there is no bluetooth to enable. So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

If you have any RAID 0 array, you must set SATA=RAID or you're going to ruin your array.
Did you tried to set SATA=AHCI on BIOS then boot in safe mode (F8)? As it boots without drivers, you can look at device manager to check if there is something missing. Then try to reboot normally.

Hi there
Enable BLUE TOOTH on your computer and then simply "Pair" the devices -- no software needed -- the computer will then automatically route the audio out to the blue tooth.

Blue tooth is simply Blue tooth -- you might be prompted for a PIN number -- if so the pin number will appear on the PAIR screen.

Once you've enabled the BLUE TOOTH on the computer simply right mouse click for the options.

(You can also get a USB==>Blue tooth adapter if your computer doesn't have one).

Tip - keep mobiles away from the Blue tooth receiver as these can sometimes interfere and you'll lose connectivity.

My wireless Atheros connection works just fine.
I've tried this on both my Dell Inspirion and my Eee PC 1005HAB with the same results. My suspicion is Windows XP networking protocols.

Thanks in advanced.

A:Code 38 with Asus USB-BT400 Bluetooth Dongle

Did you have a BT device before or is there one included (built-in) in your laptop? The code indicates there is a BT driver already in memory. The normal procedure is to remove the old driver then reboot before installing a new device driver, However; Windows will install a generic BT driver when the device is first plugged in so a new driver shouldn't be needed. Post an image of your Hardware Manager with the BT device plugged in and Bluetooth Radios expanded.

Now Asus website shows NO support for the bluetooth for windows 8.1 for my board as yet but does for windows 8.

A:USB won't enable in Award BIOS

Normally, your USB BIOS would only be required to allow BOOTing a USB HD.

Your Belkin USB is not accessed at BOOT time, so stop fussing with BIOS.

If you have modem-->router setup, then the drivers are not required at all!

Use the Modem->Router using Ethernet cable and from the router->pcs as well.

Otherwise, modem-->pc(USB connected) requires a driver.

Can you guys show me the way to enable wireless at BIOS?

A:How can I enable wireless at BIOS

Ngoctraiden9x, welcome to the windows 7 forum.

The bios is where the hardware is turned on/off/configured in most cases. For your computer to use the wireless, you have to have the hardware drivers installed and the software to control the wireless adapter.

Normally, when you turn your machine on the bios recognizes your hardware devices and then as your Operating system loads, it load all the drivers for your devices and at that time your wireless would become active.

Is this what you meant when you said enable wireless at bios?

Some bios screens will allow you to turn on and off devices. If this is what you mean, then by entering bios, go thru the screens and look for the wireless. Some machines have a physical wireless switch or a function key toggle.

If your BIOS doesn't include such options, then they simply are not there.

I don't know about hacking BIOS's, and I wouldn't suggest it at all. You could brick your motherboard.

However, you should check with your manufacturer's website and see if there is an update available for the BIOS that may increase available options.

Hey All,

I'm purchasing a new SSD next week. I've been reading up on it and it looks like I need to enable AHCI in my BIOS. I can't find any option for AHCI though.

I currently have my System setup as RAID0. This was how it was set up in the factory and I haven't changed it.

The only option I have is under SATA operation and I can either set it to "RAID Autodetect/ATA" or "RAID ON".

Is there anyway I can check to see whether AHCI is already enabled? If not will one of the above options enable it?

A:How to Enable AHCI - No option in BIOS.

Some motherboards incorporate AHCI SATA automatically. In the early days of SATA there was a lot of confusion in terminology. "RAID" - "AHCI" - all the same thing.

For your motherboard it looks like you want to choose "RAID Autodetect/ATA" to use a non-RAID setup with AHCI.

Not sure if this is a Boot or Operating System issue so let me know if I need to move this to the other board. I'm trying to enable virtualization on my computer, which can only be done from BIOS (or apparently in the case of Windows 10 UEFi). I've followed various tutorials online to access UEFI (Shift + Restart > Troubleshoot), but when I get to the troubleshoot menu where there should be access to UEFI-Firmware, there's just a link to Startup Options/Settings (I can't remember the name of it exactly as obviously I don't have it in front of me right now). From what I've read the access to UEFI can vary depending on manufacturer, so I was wondering if HP might have moved access to UEFI somewhere else? Any help ASAP would be much appreciated as I need access to this to study!

A:Access BIOS/UEFI (Enable Virtualization)

Hi, You should be able to access this as follows. Shutdown the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  The option to enable virtualization should be found under the Advanced tab.....Device Settings.....Device Configuration. Regards, DP-K

When I select Enabled next to Virtualization Technology in the screen below, the next time I open BIOS the option automatically goes back to Disabled. From looking online I believe this is to do with HP OEM. How can I fix this?
