Preferred Solution: Which is best free Anti-keylogger software?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Are you running anti-keylogger? Please mention your software & experience.

I checked out Zemana, Spyshelter & KeyScrambler free/paid.

Zemana & Spyshelter seems kinda bloated. I mean HIPS & all included.
KeyScrambler seems good & no bloats.

Recommendation & Suggestion are welcome.

A:Anti-Keylogger Software

The ones you listed are the only ones I know of. I don't honestly feel this ZAM-AL bloat, unless the paid version is a little heavier which I haven't used. I can't speak for SpyShelter, strangely enough, I've heard it runs quite light. KeyScrambler I've only heard good things about, and of course, it's free. I can't think of any other antiloggers that aren't apart of some security suite.

It seems free Anti-Malware programs are as scarce as free Firewalls.
I have been using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (Free) which is probably the best. But I have had enough. When I click Update it takes up to 10 minutes to check for updates at a speed of no more than 50kbps. Then it downloads the updates at 6-8 Mbps. Clearly there's not a problem on my side or with my ISP.
Does anyone have the same issue?
Is IObit Malware Fighter Free as good?

A:Free Anti-malware Software.

Not having that problem with MalwareBytes free version updates. It varies for me from about 20 seconds to, at worst, about 1-1.5 minutes for it to fully complete. Maybe the issue is current problems with servers geographically.
I do use IoBit Uninstaller but I have to say I am not at all keen on anything else of theirs.

What do you use? Why? What are the pros and cons of some of the free versions available? I have tried a few of them but have settled on Bitdefender Free due to it's high ratings, very small footprint/system resource useage, and simple install and forget it. Would love to hear from others on what they use.

A:Best free anti virus software?

Honest answer...there never has been...never will be...a "best" AV since there will never be one which provides 100% protection.  There are many that are reliable unless not properly used/updated by the system owner...or otherwise left useless by the lack of computer security by users.

Like the title asks, is there any realiable, recommended, highly-rated antivirus program out there for FREE? I am aware of ALL of those services and programs that only *scan* your computer for free, but thats all they do. You have to pay $40 just to own the progam that gets rid of the viruses and malware. I basically poor, and I have not had good anti-virus software for many months. In this day and age, are there no quality FREE anti-virus programs that actually remove the viruses and not just scans your computer?

A:Possible Anti-Virus Software Issue / AVG Free 8.5.285

Hello. these are normal findings in scans. They are skipped files. When the scanner runs it comes across these Operating System files and they are not allowed "locked" by the system to be scanned. It is a way of the system protecting important files from being accessed by what may be a dangerous device.
If you still feel a little paranoia feel free to post that section of the AVG scan that showed them.

Whats the best that is free? I only have AVG Free 8.0

thanks...

A:Whats the best free anti-virus and spyware software?

Hi.Whats the best that is free? I only have AVG Free 8.0Well, these kind of questions are very hard to judge. It's all a matter of Personal preferenceIn this topic, there are alot of anti-malware security programs, that you can try out and see which one you like or not. Also if you are referring to which Anti-virus program is best at removing/detecting threats you might want to look here.I also use AVG 8.0, and for my anti-spyware program I use SuperAntispyware. Also understand that:No single product is 100% foolproof and can detect and remove all threats at any given time. The security community is in a constant state of change as new infections appear. Each vendor has its own definition of what constitutes malware and scanning your computer using different criteria will yield different results. The fact that each program has its own definition files means that some malware may be picked up by one that could be missed by another. Thus, a multi-layered defense using several anti-spyware products (including an effective firewall) to supplement your anti-virus combined with common sense and safe surfing habits provides the most complete protection. What I think is most important is not only the Anti-virus program itself but also your own surfing habits. Having good surfing habits will avoid getting into infections. Most infections come out of bad sites and also unkown e-mails.Also I was reading this topic recently. The discussion is about the AV test results. I thought it was a good read and you might enjoy it too. It may be long, but it is worth it ;)With Regards,Extremeboy

Hello, i've got Windows Defender on my W7 laptop here. I'm having some weird goings on recently with redirects and now some strange chinese text appearing when i click on links. The redirects have stopped but i still got the text appearing yesterday, but today it has stopped since i disabled my Comodo CIS av and firewall (i'm now using Toolwiz Timefreeze).

First question is Windows Defender on W7 the same as Microsoft Security Essentials?

Is w7 Windows Defender and firewall as good as these commercial Anti virus software?

Is there a malware removal tool built into W7 and is it common to need online support?

Thanks

Billy personally I would not rely on that and if you want a fairly good real time AV then pick one out from this listing Free Windows Desktop Software Security List - Realtime Protection | Gizmo's Freeware personally I would not recommend the AVG, Norton 360, or McAfee.

A:Best free anti-virus/anti-malware/protection for Windows XP 32-bit

There is no universal "one size fits all" solution that works for everyone and there is no single best anti-virus. Every vendor's virus lab and program scanning engine is different. Each has has its own strengths and weaknesses and they often use a mix of technologies to detect and remove malware. In many cases choosing an anti-virus is a matter of personal preference and what works best on a particular system. You may need to experiment and find the one most suitable for your needs. I have Windows Defender right now, I don't know if it's good or not though. I did a Panda activescan online and it came with 40 different spyware infected files and one virus I think, but when I ran a full scan on Windows defender it found nothing. Basically I want to get rid of defender and find a good anti-virus and anti-spyware program that's free. It can be an online scan but preferrably works from the computer.

Any takers?

Hi, all!

With interest I have read the Emsisoft Blog article about free anti-virus vendors that bundle PUPs with them. Here, 7 out of 8 tested free antivirus suites bundle with PUPs. A bit further down the article, an important fact is stated, and I quote:

...Bitdefender Free is one of the only clean antivirus vendors that does not come with any PUPs.

I therefore would like to know: Which more free anti-virus suites than Bitdefender Free do not bundle PUPs?

Thank you very much in advance!

Until now I use ESET + MBAM. I never used EMSISOFT but I always hear good things about it

Why not both using MBAM and Emsisoft Emergency Kit? On demand scanners should help you to track down potential infections as possible with various tools available.

Emsisoft AM is a full blown AV but it can be experimental on other security products as combination just use at your own risk as possible.

Hello,

I have Vista and I need a free anti-virus / anti-spyware removal tool/program. What is the best free one out there? I used to have Norton but it used too much memory and I didn't want to pay for subscriptions and updates.

Thank you for your time,

Joey

ps: is the stuff that comes with Windows (eg: windows defender) sufficient to deal with viruses?

I'm running Zemana Antilogger Free and I would like to know if there's any benefit in also having Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Free, or does ZAL Free's SSL Intrusion Prevention module do pretty much what MBAE Free does.

The ZAL Free SSL Intrusion Prevention module does the following:
-Protects SSL (https) data pre-encryption
-Prevents Man-In-The-Browser and HTML injection attacks
-Monitors the Trusted Root CA Store for fake root certificate installations

@uninfected1 ZAL Free is compatible with MBAE, use them both

Im running AVG Free Editon as my virus protections software. I was wondering if there are any other Free virus programs that work better than my AVG Free Edition.
Im also running Windows Defender as my Spyware/Malware protection program. Are there any other spyware/malware protection programs that work better than Windows Defender?

Any suggestions appreciated,

The most problems that i find is with the info that cookies manage to send out.. as for the good old virus i can honestly say that i can blame that on Zone Labs. so i got me a virus checker and malware or cookie killer.all i can say is that you get nothing for nutin in this world. so do yourself a favor and spring for the few bucks, this i can honestly tell you, my internet provider supplies the big MAC for free and yet i prefer zone alarm.

have a good day

You always hear about not having two a/v softwares on the computer at the same time, but malwarebytes anti-exploit free supposedly doesn't disrupt most free a/v. Does anybody have any experience with the free a/v that the malwarebytes anti-exploit free works okay with? Thanks.

Hello everyone!

My McAfee subscription through Dell runs out on Sunday May 23, 2010. I would like to know what are the best Free Anti-Malware, Anti-Spyware, and Firewalls out there. I looked at the list that is on here, but could not figure out which one is better for my situation.

I currently have as Anti-Malware and Anti-Spyware : a-Squared free, Spybot S&D free, MBAM free, and SUPERAntiSpyware free. I have Windows Defender and Firewall turned off because of interfering with McAfee.

I currently do not have the money to renew my subcription with McAfee, nor do I have the money to buy a paid full service security program with firewall.

My question is what do you recommend I should do and what programs are best for my situation?
PS: I was thinking of Microsoft Security Essentials, for 2 reasons: 1) It's Free and 2) my computer already has a lot of Microsoft programs on it. Has anyone had any experience with this program?

A:which are the Best Free Anti-Malware and Anti-Spyware

Groffeaston,

I installed MSE on my sisters W7 computer and she thinks it is great did that about 2 months ago when it was new. If you use MSE it wlii turn off Windows Defender because it includes it own spyware component. Use the Windows firewall with it cause from what I have read on MS sites it doesn't play well with third party firewalls. When you go to uninstall the McAfee makes sure to use there removal tool to get as many traces as possible otherwise you may have a problem installing MSE.

Good Luck Mr. Phelps this message will self destruct in 5 seconds!

Be careful where your get your free software or free software updates from. Some programs on certain download sites can get malware, viruses, or have pups even if the program provided was originally clean. One site I recommend is MajorGeeks they do a really good job.

A:Be careful where you get your free software or free software updates

Ninite is another very clean site. Plus it is a very handy site. https://ninite.com/

Please tell me if there is an anti keylogger available for the Macintosh. It seems there are thousand og Mac keyloggers available but no anti keyloggers. MacScan update is STILL not available so that is not an option.

Thanks

Someone put a commercial key logger program on my computer (I just know it). You know the ones that take screen shots et cetera. What is the best anti-keylogger program I can get to remove and prevent this from happening again. I don't care if it is freeware (which I would obviously prefer) or commercial, but anti-spyware types of programs have done nothing to remove/protect me from this massive invasion of privacy.
Thanks, need advice soon!

No idea of your security apps so try Trusteer Rapport. http://www.trusteer.com/product-0Avast home antivirus lets you start a scan just after Windows loads the basics to check for root kits and keyloggers etc.Two other freebies to think of,Superantispyware; http://www.superantispyware.com/ Free version download. I'd run in safe mode. Usb scanner which is invaluable sometimes.MBAM; not the best but if you run SAS in safe mode first then MBAM in normal mode will get rid of any loggers.http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti...4-10804572.html

Hi everyone,
I am using AVG Free Anti virus as my main anti virus,
I also have norton security scan of google pack,
AVG anti spyware (free edition)
Comodo personal firewall with defence+
Spybot search and destroy,
and an AVG Rootkit removal tool,
My question is that do i still need an anti keylogger for my system,
I am being paranoid since i learnt that someone can steal my online banking password.
Please do tell me is my paranoia justified.
Also out of 10 how much would my security rate.
and do inform me what other security tool do i need for my system.
(I am using windows xp with all the updates installed till date, mozilla firefox 2.0.0.11; browsing inside sandboxie)

One more thing, will i have increased security if i use the onscreen keyboard rather than my normal keyboard.

Thanks.

I was just curious because when I installed zemana anti-keylogger it came with realtime protection, and Pandora cloud-sandbox technology, so can it replace zemana anti malware (realtime)

Hi

I just bought my first ever smartphone (yes, I've been living under a rock) - the iphone 5s. I'm after recommendations for good software to protect it, free if possible.

I've looked in the itunes store and the options for anti-virus seem limited. The Mcafee app gets bad reviews and the others I've never heard of, and/or have no reviews. any suggestions would be great.

On the anti-malware front, i can't seem to find anything in itunes store when i try to search. I like the Malwarebytes anti-Malware program for my laptop, but unless I'm mistaken the only mobile app they have is for Androids, not iphones. Again, any recommendations would be much appreciated.

This novice appreciates your time and ideas...

A:Good anti-virus and anti-malware software for iphone 5s

The reason they have more anti-virus apps for Android is because the Android platform is more vulnerable to malware. On Android, you are able to download and install a variety of things from unknown sources.

For the iPhone, however, anti-virus isn't really needed unless you have jailbroken your device.

Hope this helped.

A:Anti-keylogger program...

OK....i figured out how to disable it from the start-up at boot. I will reboot and see if that does it. Hopefully i won't get that error message again. By the way...if i post all of my 'start-up programs' could someone tell me which ones are not a definate must to keep? I'm not sure about several of them...and i believe i have too many at boot. ???? Thank you
