Laptop Bluetooth Headphone Connection Issue

Q: Laptop Bluetooth Headphone Connection Issue

I've recently bought a Bluetooth USB Dongle for my Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop so my wireless headphone could connect to it. The dongle connected and installed fine but when I pressed "Add a device", it saw it as a keyboard and when it tried to install the driver for it, it gave me a "No driver found" for Bluetooth Peripheral Device. It is a Ciberspeed Sports Bluetooth Headphone and it has worked for my iPod so I'm not sure if that's the issue. I appreciate any help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I am having problems getting a Bluetooth headset to operate. Having connected and paired (I believe), the device shows in Devices and Printers. In Device Manager, there are three listings for it (Aukey model EP-B4). Each listing says there are no drivers installed. Have tried updating each and all but after an age for Windows searching for drivers I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to close it.
I have contacted the manufacturer many times but so far no results - they repeatedly requested from where I bought it and item number.
I am using Win7 SP1 with all updates current.

The headset works well with my mobile phone and tablet (Android 5.1).

Any help much apprecitated.

I purchased myQC35's 29 Aug 2016 and my experience is the same - no problem in Android, no problem with sound from video etc on Windows 10 on, HP Elitebook 840 G2.  But just static from the the QC35 microphone in ZOOM and Skype calls on the HP Elitebook 840 G2 - I have tried the most up to date MicroSoft supplied Bluetooth drivers and also tried the HP support site drivers - same result.

Hi guys,

I've recently updated to Windows 10, but the bluetooth didn't seem to work properly. It doesn't seem to be able to detect any devices. Also, i couldn't even find the option 'allow devices to connect to this computer' in bluetooth settings. i've tried to reinstall the latest version of drivers but it didn't help. Could anyone kindly tell me what's wrong and how to fix it? Many thanks.

PS: my laptop is alienware M17x R2.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to buy a new "sports headphone" to be used at the gym. Unfortunately, where I am, I only either have bluetooth 2.0 + NFC or Bluetooth 4.0 (only 1 or 2 options) without NFC.

I am really keen on NFC, as I have a S4 and really keen to try NFC, would really appreciate any feedback on this? Is BT2.0 with NFC a better option in terms of easy of use or a simple BT3.0 or BT4.0 without NFC be a safer bet?

I am not too sure how stable the NFC technology now is, so thats my only concern.

Would appreciate some feedback on this.

Thanks

A:NFC or bluetooth sports headphone?

Since NFC only works up to a few inches, it must be used just for the setup. The Bluetooth would then be used as the link between the headphones and phone.

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this but I'm just going to guess that it is.

I recently upgraded my desktop from 7 to 10. I used to connect my laptop (already using 10) to my desktop via Bluetooth and it allowed me to select the desktop pc's speakers as audio output, effectively mixing both computers' audio through my headphones attached to the desktop. This is no longer something my computers seem to do; literally all that has changed is that I upgraded the desktop OS and I would have assumed this is something windows10 can do but the Bluetooth menu is almost comically unhelpful.
It used to be relatively easy to do this in 7 but I am at a loss as to how to do this in 10. Is this functionality somehow not a part of Win10?

Newbie!
I am re-opening the thread on Bluetooth Mouse loss when coming out of power save as I cannot find any solution to this, or mention of the situation I have!
I have a Toshiba Sat Pro running Vista Home Premium 32bit with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack, Logitech 5000 mouse & keyboard.
This problem has only recently started & must be the result of a MS security download!
When I come out of power save I noticed that my Bluetooth icon was static, when I checked the Bluetooth settings I found it was showing Bluetooth as enabled, I then set it to disable & then re-enabled straight away and got my connection back, (this also affects the keyboard!)
Maybe this info will generate an idea regarding the problem.

Hello, I got a JBL Everest Elite 700 bluetooth headphone and I would like to pair (connect) it with my HP Pavilion G6. I also have the latest updates installed. 1. Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a deviceNo device can be found! (I am sure the headphone is discoverable and it works perfectly with other laptops and my mobile phone) 2. In "Device Manager", there is no "Bluetooth" icon. 3. In Computer Management > Services, "Bluetooth Support Service" is running and is set to Automatic. 4. In Computer Management > Services, "Bluetooth Handsfree Service" is running and is set to Automatic.   This is driving me crazy. The sound quality on paired headphones is terrible. There is a background, high pitched whine being transmitted that makes it unbearable to listen.
A wired pair of headphone works fine. The headphones work fine when paired with my Note 4 & Sony TV. A second pair of bluetooth headphones exhibits exactly the same problem, so it is 100% definitely the laptop that is the problem.
Does anybody know how the fix this please?

I used to be able to listen to music through a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones on my Wins 7 laptop. However, I am no unable to do so. I followed a number of the steps in this thread : Bluetooth headset pairs but won't connect, not avail as playback devic , specifically the post from 11th Dec 2014 . Computer has been restarted multiple times.

I've attached an image of what I see. I can connect the headphones to the laptop, but can't listen to music. I also cannot set the headphones to default playback.

Atm, I'm listening through an aux cable, but any additional trouble shooting steps would be appreciated.

I have an old laptop that I am trying to connect to the Internet. It is a Dell Latitude D610 running Windows XP. Last time I used it, it was my primary computer and I had a Verizon USB drive and installed Verizon software to connect to the Internet. I have Adobe Creative Suite installed on that computer and the version I have (CS3) is not compatible with my current laptop that runs Windows 8. So I was just going to use it on the old laptop but it is asking me to verify the software online. So I plugged the laptop into my Comcast modem using an ethernet cable. Hey guys,

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

Windows 8 was able to install all my Function Keys so I'm going to assume this will be the case for others. Good luck

The Key to turn on the wireless on the laptop seems to be F2 since it has a wirelsss icon on it. but the Damn thing wouldnt get turned on even if i held the F2 key for a long time. Can anybody please help with this ???

IS F2 the only key or do I need to use any combination ???

How do I get the wireless light icon to show on the computer so that i can connect to a wirelss network ??

Have been having this problem for a while now Laptop Working on Powered Off is Headphone Laptop Jack Until Stops Every so often the headhphone jack on my laptop just stops working after hours and hours of the laptop being on The built-in speakers Headphone Jack on Laptop Stops Working Until Laptop is Powered Off of the laptop work fine What happens is that while the Headphone Jack on Laptop Stops Working Until Laptop is Powered Off computer is in use after some random amount of time any hardware plugged into the headphone jack of the laptop will not playback Headphone Jack on Laptop Stops Working Until Laptop is Powered Off sound This includes headphones speakers and the like The sound device manager in control panel shows sound being output and if the headphones speakers are disconnected the audio plays fine on the built-in speakers on the laptop I haven't been able to figure out what exactly causes this problem I have tried resinstalling the driver several times I am sure it isn't the headphones of the speakers that I use as I use these speakers and headphones on many other devices phone tablet etc The only way that this issue gets fixed is if the computer is shut down and then rebooted a restart doesn't work the computer has to literally lose power for the problem to be fixed It seems very intermittent and I'm not sure how to approach this problem Any ideas

A:Headphone Jack on Laptop Stops Working Until Laptop is Powered Off

One idea would be a look the power plan in use. If you are running with the default Balanced power plan you may be seeing that nterfere by conserving battery power temporarily turning the audio off being a constant drain. Another thought could be a result of the onboard audio chip itself getting too warm where the hardware protection circuit will then come in and deactivate all sound. That is usually seen as far as the cpu temp as well as other major components. The audio being onboard would also be monitored by the bios not so much by Windows.

The other possible cause of losing sound would be the headphone jack or the board end having a cold solder point getting warm and expanding just enough to break the connection until cooled off. The complete shutdown of power would tend to suggest a temp or regulation issue where either the power plan or temp monitoring would have to be watched. And one more thing would be setting the laptop on a fan cooled stand or effective notebook cooling pad to draw heat away from the unit if you are not already using one. Laptops are known to get quite warm with extended use since everything is packed into a tight space with the typical serious lack of air flow unlike the usual desktop with front, rear, and side or top case fans in use if not water cooled.

You have some things to consider in the list of things there. Increased overall cooling, not planning to use the laptop for extended periods of time which can allow for something to overheat if that is the case., changing the power plan to Performance if still set to the default Balanced might help. As for anything internal as far as a loose contact or cold solder point that would require a look once confirmed however by the factory or authorized service center/dealer where you could bring it in direct for examination.

The shutdown and restart could also be indication that the driver for the onboard is going to sleep on you or otherwise made inactive at random intervals and the fresh power up serves to refresh the driver as Windows loads it fresh all over again. Run into that one here at times but on a desktop machine.

Hi, I have a problem
I am in a CS CAL Team and the new CAL season is starting up. That means late night games, and where late night games come in comes the issue of being quite for the rest of the house while they try to sleep. SO! I plug in my headphones... but they don't work all I can hear is a very faint incoherent fuzz.

I am running on XP Home, and got a Creative SB Live! Series (WDM) card running on Version 5.1.2603.0. I was wondering if there is some way to fix this issue. If it is my crap old soundcard? the headphones? or what?

Thanks

The laptop doesn't register headphones frequently- occasionally 'unplugs' randomly, or if they're moved/knocked a little. I've tried updating the audio drivers and using different headphones and that's not helped at all. I figure it's probably a hardware issue and I need to send it off to be fixed, but I'd rather avoid having to do that if I could.

I uninstalled the W7 audio drivers. I tried again to download the audio driver from Compaq (Select software and drivers Compaq Presario V3000 CTO Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)) but this time while I reinstalled that driver, I noticed that W7 was reinstalling its own drivers b/f the Compaq driver could be installed. I went back to the Compaq driver installation, let it finished and my headphones are now working!!!!!

I just got my brand new XPS 15 and this thing screams. I'm impressed at how quickly this machine processes my videos on Premier Pro. However, right out of the box, I'm having a major issue with the headphone jack.
Upon inserting any set of headphones, I get, I would say 35% sound on the right channel. The left channel sounds fine. The fix is either to wiggle the headphone jack until the sound comes through. Or, to press down hard next to the left Ctrl and Shift keys.
I've tried both the Audio Technica ATH-M70x and Creative Aurvanas, and both have the same issue. Is this new laptop destined for a new motherboard, already? I can't imagine this would be a driver issue.

Hi,
Anyone else with the XPS 15 9550 have problems with headphones / internal speakers not working correctly?
On booting the PC without any headphones, the speakers work. However headphones do not work if inserted.  On removing the headphones, the speakers then cease to work.
However if booting the PC with headphones inserted, the headphones do work.  On removing them, the speakers do not work.  The headphones do not work if reinserted.
Both these scenarios are fixed by rebooting the PC.
Windows 10 and all drivers - including audio and BIOS - are up to date as of 17/11/5.
This issue seems similar to the one described in:
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3517/t/19632353
Does anyone else have the same problem?

A:XPS 9550 Headphone / audio issue

I have the same problem. Here's the steps I took to fix the issue on my computer (no guarantees this works for everyone!)
1. Updated audio drivers to latest (Audio_Driver_37Y88_WN32_6.0.1.7628_A03.EXE)
2. Updated BIOS to latest (XPS_9550_1.1.19.exe)
3. Restart
4. Open the startup manager(Esc+Shift+Ctrl, navigate to startup tab)
5. Disable "HD Audio Background Process" and "Waves MAXXaudio Service Application"
6. Enable "Realtek HD Audio Manager" if not already enabled
7. Restart
After restarting plugging and unplugging headphones work correctly. Hope this helps!

Hello there,

The headphone jack on my laptop broke some time ago, so I had to buy a USB replacement jack. Under Windows XP this worked brilliantly, but since I've upgraded to Windows 7 (Home Premium, 32bit) I've been experiencing problems: namely, I have no control over the volume. Whether the volume is all the way up or just above zero, the sound is blaringly loud through the headphones. (I can still Mute the volume.) I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the jack via the Device Manager, but I haven't had any success. Help?
Thanks,

USB headsets' volumes are controlled by Windows via the drivers for said headset. IF the drivers are not installed or improperly installed, you may have a tough time doing anything with it.

Some headsets also have volume controls in-line on the cord. Is this the case for you?

What headset do you have?

Also check your device manager under Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. If your headset is actually listed there like it should be, it should not have any ! or ? symbols on it as well.

I'm guessing that it's probably just a compatibility issue... or just how it is, but I'm curious:

I updated my laptop from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro a while back. It started out as just a minor inconvenience, but it's getting to be very annoying. When I plug in my external speakers (via the headphone jack) or my headphones, Windows doesn't automatically switch the sound output to the headphone jack. I have to manually switch it ("Manage Audio Devices"). The same is true for the reverse, when I unplug my headphones.

Is there any way around this, or is it likely an issue with the compatibility of my sound card?

Please and thank you!

A:Headphone jack/on board speaker issue

Do you have the correct Windows 7 drivers for your Audio system? The XP drivers are not compatible and you need at a minimum Vista drivers as Vista and Windows 7 handle sound functions differently than XP.

On most newer "HD Audio" systems the jack is "auto sensing" and switches "logically". On many older PC systems that is a mechanical function with the jack.

Hi,

I really had not this 'Bluetooth connection' before.
But, I really don't know that pairing my Nokia Bluetooth with my HP Laptop Bluetooth would add this Bluetooth connection or NOT.
I really guess this Bluetooth Connection was listed there when I connected my Lapotp Bluetooh with Nokia Bluetooth.
Thus, I will really not have any problems if I deleted it. But I am asking you what benefit of that Bluetooth Connection.
This is below was not here:

Finally Could please let me know how to use this Bluetooth Connection.(How to benefit from it)? I really use an ADSL Internet subscription, and not Dial-up connection. Also, I am connected wirelessly to a Modem-Router. Thus, what password and username should I type in the fields in the above screen shot?

A:'Bluetooth connection' is shown in my Network Connection suddnly.

Pairing a mobile phone will create such an entry and there's nothing to worry about. I don't think you can use it to go online since as you said you are using ADSL and if you want to go online via your modem with your phone just use the wifi connection

Hi Ranya,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

There is usually a hardware switch in the socket, which is engaged when you put the plug in. Seems like it might be mechanically broken.

Playback Devices under Sound Properties (by going to Control Panel (large icon view) > Sound > Playback Devices) and see if the Headphone is being set as the default playback device. If not, click on it and set it as the default playback device, try to play a sample sound and observe.

Hi Thank you for Jack feedback - issue Headphone Panel Front Poor taking the time to read this amp hopefully help me resolve my issue May the records state that I'm not the most experienced with computer hardware but I'm interested in it and have been learning through my friends That aside I recently got a Logitech G Stereo Gaming Headset I've been plugging it into the audio microphone jacks in the rear of my tower and they've worked fine Really great headset by the way very comfortable and I have no complaints about it as of yet Recently upon cleaning out my tower I found that there are audio microphone jacks on the front panel Who knew I never really explored my computer tower so this was a neat find for me I decided to see if my headset would work through them and lo and behold the feedback volume was significantly lower than it was in the rear jacks To my dismay I couldn't find out why this was and Google ceased to give me the solution I desired Help is welcomed with open arms

A:Front Panel Headphone Jack - Poor feedback issue

I'm not sure of what you are saying. Are you saying the sound volume in the headset is lower than it is plugging into the rear Green speaker jack?

There can be a sound level difference, depending on the impedance of the particular headset. The Green speaker jack on the rear is designed to feed a speaker system which will have a different impedance than headsets. Thus there can be a difference in the sound level.

Dell does not list the technical impedance specs for this model so I can't say for sure what the Speaker and Headphone jack impedances are.

Hi, I've just got my Windows 8 through Dreamspark Premium. I was using windows 7 and did a clean install of windows 8.

After installing windows 8, there's no sound from my speaker. Sound only works with earphones. What should I do?

My laptop:
Asus N53J

**UPDATE**
I went to the asus website and update the audio driver, it partially works now. The sound is there, but I keep getting error message about SRS audio cannot be found. I go to the add/remove program and saw two programs have been installed:
-Realtek High Definition Audio Driver
-SRS audio contro panel

I uninstall the SRS audio control panel and it seems the error message is gone. But I hope I didn't corrupt anything.

I remember I don't have this problem with Windows 8 release preview...why?

Hello, I have a brand new ASUS laptop with REAltek and WINdows 8.1. The frustrating issue I have is that my headphone audio sounds as if there is an echo-like sound to it. More like a sewer-pipe. I have restarted the audio programs under computer management. set the default in REALTEK to 16 bit 48000, and all devices seem to be operating fine. I even uninstalled SKYPE as suggested. The test in REALTEK is also okay. Please, any assistace would be more than appreciated.

Hello I just purchased a new notebook and I have a bit of a problem When I plug headphones into the side headphone jack the sound quality is downright terrible Very shortly I noticed that it didn't sound as good decent as my older notebook The speakers seem to sound fine well you know - as good as laptops can sound Right now I have two notebooks side by side a friends Samsung Series NP E C with Windows upgraded from W Microsoft - headphone jack quality icon sound Unacceptable headphone no High Definition audio my Toshiba L Windows Realteck High Definition I dont have my older notebook anymore but I do remember it sounding better Comparing this Toshiba to the Samsung both sitting on the desk side-by-side the Toshiba sounds a Unacceptable headphone jack sound quality - no headphone icon little better through the speakers but there is no comparison with the headphone - The Samsung is pretty decent while the Toshiba makes me cry Now granted I'm not expecting a symphony but if I cant solve this I'm going to have to sell the Toshiba I've tried uninstalling Realtek but I couldn't get the sound to work Re-installing Realtek solved nothing One thing I noticed there is no 'headphone' icon in the device manager Control Panel gt Hardware amp Sound gt Sound or simply right click the audio icon in the taskbar Are the headphones not high definition or something screen capture http img imageshack us img chm png The above link show the speakers playing when I actually have my headphones plugged in Not sure if this is unusual or not but I always remember there being a headphone icon Both show disconnected devices and show disabled devices are checkmarked right click please don't recommend me an external DAC external speakers or anything like that

I bought headphones to hook into the headphone (mint green) output on my laptop running Windows XP SP3, but it dosent work. In the past when ever I'd plug headphones into the mint green on the laptop the audio playing would cease outputing via the imbedded laptop speakers and begin to play exclusively through the headphones. Now, however, the headphones don't receive audio when they're plugged in to the headphones jack and the laptop speakers continue to have the audio output as if no headphones were plugged in at all, when for example, I am playing an MP3 via Windows Media Player.

What's wrong here? What settings or hardware will I need to look at?
Thanks for the help

A:No headphone audio output in laptop, XP

It doesn't sound like a settings problem since the internal speakers are disconnected mechanically inside the jack when something is plugged in. Carefully compare the jacks that work on the speakers to the one that doesn't. Is it shorter at all, or are the insulators on the jack perfectly aligned?

Hi Rhys, Welcome to the forum.

Click on Start, type sound into Start Search, Click on Sound.
Under the Playback tab make sure that Headset is shown and enabled (right click)
If it is not shown highlight any of the devices right cklick and select show disabled devices
Click on the Recording tab and do the same for your microphone

I hope this helps

My Realtek HD Audio Manager has more options than yours.

Also, I notice you only have the microphone in the Recording Section of the Sound Panel. RIGHT click in an empty space in that Panel and then LEFT click Show Disabled and Disconnected devices. The Stereo Mix should be shown and you can enable that and make it the default Recording device.

Where did you get the RealTek driver that you installed? If you are not using the Lenovo supplied sound driver, get that and install it as a first step. I have a Lenovo Laptop and it has Stereo Mix and other functions. I haven't looked at the RealTek HD manager so I'm not sure what all it shows.

First, the "My System Specs" is where you fill in what you have.

Does the internal speakers on the laptop work? Is the audio OK on the internal speakers?

The SoundBlaster program(s) is a software enhancement to the basic audio chip (ReaklTek). Many PC's now come with some type of enhancement such as the SoundBlaster or in the case of HP PC's its "Beats Audio".

Hi.

I've recently bought a laptop online with no OS installed on it. I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate Edition and downloaded all drivers from the manufactures website. Everything works fine except there is no audio coming through the headphone jack or built-in speakers. I have spent majority of today looking online for answers on how to fix this issue and have found nothing that works.

The laptop model is a HP Pavillion dv6-1007tx.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: When I plug in a HDMI cable to the laptop, sound comes through my TV.

A:headphone jack on Aspire E1 laptop not allowing ja...

Just inside the headphone and mic ports, you should be able to see a black plastic or annular ring. This ring material usually holds the plug in place by friction against the slightly larger metal ring at the base of the plug's pin. This black annular ring might've dropped out of the port and rolled on the floor somewhere. 8^) Jack E/NJ

I usually listen to music with speakers through the headphone jack. When I unplug the speakers, the music plays through the stock laptop speakers like it is supposed to do.

However, all of a sudden, the sound has only worked through these external speakers. It plays fine through the headphone jack, but when I unplug the speakers, the laptop speakers do not work.

I have restored the computer to an earlier point that I know they were working, but still nothing.

The laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1705.

Any help would be appreciated.

I use headphones for medical transcription. Today, they fell off the table after I took them off, and pulled at the headphone jack. Now, I can only hear sound from the headphones, but not from the laptop speakers. Is there a way to take apart the laptop in order to see if the headphone jack is cracked, or if it moved? If I plug in the headphone jack and jiggle it I can get sound from my laptop speakers, but once I take the headphone connector out of the jack, all sound is gone again from the laptop speakers. My laptop is still under warranty, but we don't want to send it out for repair unless it is absolutely necessary. Please help us -we would like to be able to fix this problem ourselves as money is short, and I need the laptop to be here so I can do my medical transcription. Thanks!

Have you tried messing around in there at all? It should recognize where your headphones are plugged in and give you options to control them. Are you plugging into the front panel or the rear panel for audio on the headphones? Have you tried both???

Hello,

I have Dell Inspiron N4050 Laptop with Integrated Webcam and running Windows 7 Ultimate edition - 64 bit..
I normally call using Gmail's Call phone service. I want to setup so that I can use Internal microphone in laptop to transmit my voice and hear the incoming call voice using external speakers.

**** I normally keep external speakers connected to laptop for listening to music, but whenever I have to make a call, I have to remove the speaker cables and connect headphone cables in audio jack. So, I am looking up for solution to do make audio/video calls using external speakers and without needing to connect headphones to transmit my voice to caller.

Could you help me with the setup please?
Thanks a lot!

A:Use external speakers in place of headphone and Laptop's microphone

Short answer, no. Because of the feedback problems, most users use a separate combination headset/mic to minimize feedback problems. Otherwise you will have to manually change things each time you speak or listen.

That colorless port might be for input devices, that does not include headphones. I had the same problem with my audigy 2 zs, had to plug my headset into a speaker port, its really the only way to get them to work, unless you have front panel ports for headphones.

thought here; have you checked all the settings to make sure the proper headphone/speaker settings are checked/unchecked?. i would consider updating to that newest driver. If it does not solve the issue you should be able to restore it back to the previous restore point which should undo the driver update.
