I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello!

I had problems before when i got bccodes 124 when playing BF4 and Rome 2 more when playing BF4.

So i bought a Corsair H60 Hydro cooler and i could then play BF4 for about 2-3 days without any bluescreens then last night it started again and since then i had 2 last night 1 this morning.

Hi,

I am not an expert on BSODs. But, 0x124 is the CPU telling Windows there was an uncorrectable hardware error presented to it by the motherboard or something attached. You can check for CPU temps with CPU Z. If you have any hardware that is overclocked, put it back to stock and check.

First of all, I don't speak english very well so, sorry for any grammar fails.

I've gottin' an annoying problem lately. Started all with black screen with driver(nvlddmkm.sys) stopped responding error. Well, no problems. Checked my temps, everything seems normal.(58~59? idle, 75? full. My GPU runs for years with those temps.)

Then I started gettin' BSOD. 3 BSOD's, two without fragments and this last one with some crazy shit on the screen and then BSOD. Only when I'm playin games like COD, Fable, Oblivion.
My GPU don't overheat(I believe) or something, and don't have any graphical bug on Aero interface. I can pass a day watchin' shit on youtube but I can't pass 5 minutes playin' MW1

I've got here a 8800GS, GA-M61SME-S2L and a AMD Athlon 5000 X2 processor.

Well, I hope that my GPU isn't dying.

Thank-you!

Here the DMP file

A:BSOD 116 while playing heavy load games

First, please keep the expletives under control.

Second, read this article on your bugcheck 116: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...eshooting.html

Play around with the drivers, test your temps with Speedfan, if if nothing else works, it could be a failing video card.

My PC has been getting BSOD a ton lately while playing graphic heavy games such as Archeage and Guild Wars 2. I have been looking around in BlueScreenView and it seems most of the BSOD are related to ntoskrnl.exe

A:BSOD playing heavy load games

You mention when play "heavy Games"
Try turning down the games settings.
Use the Repair disk to check for problems, has this started happening lately or as it always been like it?

Hi mates,

My computer is about 8 months old, problem's been happening since day 1, but I ignored it since it haven't been occurring too often, though recently I started a bit of gaming and it happens every now and then while gaming.

Attached is my zip file from SF Diagnostic Tool. Computer details:

ASUS P8P67-M Pro Rev 3.0
Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz (not OC'ed)
G.Skill 4GB*2 RipJaws DDR
OCZ Vertex 3 as primary HDD with Win7 Ultimate x64.

I upgraded to the latest BIOS from ASUS which was no help.

Should the games I play matter - mainly CS:GO, GTA:IV, Crysis 2, Battle Field 3.

Any assistance will be much appreciated, thanks!

Only 131 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Please enable the printer, update it's drivers, then feel free to disable it again. As for the TAP-Win32 Adapter, if not needed, please uninstall it and physically remove the adapter from the system. If it is needed, then please enable it, update it's drivers, and then feel free to disable it again.

Many, many Live Kernel Events in the WER section of MSINFO32. These are usually Windows' way of saying it doesn't know what caused the system to restart. It can be due to holding the power button down to restart, overheating (and other hardware problems), BSOD's, etc.

Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

MSI Afterburner (along with Riva Tuner and EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

NOTE: these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive. The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (Cx05) probably a driver.
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have a Raid update its Driver.

Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5-7 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Driver Verifier

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition.
Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is.
But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver.
Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows.
If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise.
Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation"IRP Logging and Force Pending I/O Requests. and click "Next"
NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like.
From my limited experimentation it makes the BSOD's come faster.
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

If you are using win 8 add these
- Concurrency Stress Test
- DDI compliance checking

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen.
Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly.
The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.
Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.
If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Thanks to JCGriff2 & Usasma.

Easy around two weeks ago you installed Avast
I notice your avast which is often at least a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace your Avast with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

I have already read online about how Norton has caused BSOD problems for many people when the 8.1 upgrade happened. Most solutions explain to replace Norton with Windows Defender. My question is that, is there any way of using Norton thus after then? I already spent the money have anti-virus software so it doesn't make sense for me to just uninstall it and never use Norton again. Or if not, are there any better (preferably free) anti-virus solutions? I'm tired of getting BSODs because of Norton but, being as laymen as I am with computers, I feel like if I don't have Norton on, my computer is at risk.

A:ntoskrnl.exe BSOD when playing games

Maybe you should ask Norton for a refund. If it makes you problems (and you applied all the updates) there is not much else you can do but uninstall it completely and take your losses. Does temporarily disabling Norton while playing help any ?
There are many nice and useful free AVs ot there. I am partial to Avast free but there are many more free ones too, Like AVG, Bitdefender etc. and most of them are arguably better than Windows Defender. As for free/payed AVs goes, it all depends on how much of and from what you need protection from. Check about them on their sites and compare the difference between them and free/ payed versions. For me, with pretty active internet use, Avast free, helped by Search&Destroy, does just fine job.

Driver Reference Table - vcsvad.sys

sxuptp.sys dates from 2009 and appears to be part of a Belkin USB networking device (more info here: Driver Reference Table - sxuptp.sys ) If this is a wireless USB device, here's my rant about them:

Quote:
I do not recommend using wireless USB devices. Especially in Win7 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 - and using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

If the above suggestions don't fix the BSOD problems, post back and we'll try Driver Verifier on all 3rd party drivers (instructions here: Driver Verifier Settings )

Hi, I've been getting this BSOD every so often, usually when playing DOTA 2 or Just Cause 2.

It doesn't happen immediately, I notice the game's framerate dip, and then the BSOD occurs.

I am running a laptop with Windows 8.1. (x64)
It has a nvidia 745M with optimus, and an i7-4500u.
Model is a Clevo W840SN

I have ran memtest with no errors appearing.

Thankyou.

Hi,

The latest attached DMP file is of the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f) bug check.

This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state.

If we run an !irp on the 4th parameter of the bug check (blocked IRP address), we get the following:

[ 16, 2] 0 e1 ffffe0000147d040 00000000 fffff802561a2d80-ffffe000038e46f0 Success Error Cancel pending

^^ nVidia video driver.

Ensure you have the latest video card drivers. If you are already on the latest video card drivers, uninstall and install a version or a few versions behind the latest to ensure it's not a latest driver only issue. If you have already experimented with the latest video card driver and many previous versions, please give the beta driver for your card a try.

Hello I have been trying for two or three weeks to fix this problem but so far no luck so any help is appreciated I generally only get a BSOD when I'm playing games but I've had a very small amount when not playing anything playing BSOD HDAudBus.sys, ntoskrnl.exe, storport.sys games while I ran memtest times overnight and I got zero errors and since everything I've looked up pointed to a driver issue I've tried updating everything I could find to update My first thought was it is an audio issue because for the past month I often get a crackling BSOD HDAudBus.sys, ntoskrnl.exe, storport.sys while playing games sound from any audio playing but every audio driver I've tried doesn't fix anything for long BSOD HDAudBus.sys, ntoskrnl.exe, storport.sys while playing games I then thought it might have been a graphics card issue so after updating and uninstalling reinstalling the drivers I tried swapping my R x out for my old amd hd and the crackling went away and I stopped crashing for - days I tried running one of those Furmark burn tests on each of the cards and the x crashed every time about minutes in and the went for minutes fine Since I wanted to upgrade my card anyways I got a geforce gtx For about - hours of gaming I had no problems but then crackling audio came back and so did the crashing For the first time last night when it actually let me update the Realtek audio drivers it sounded perfectly clear and I stopped crashing Then when I turned it on again after work the crackling is back and so is the crashing

First I got a sudden BSOD and reboot after a couple of hours of playing games. It looked strange as this PC is rather new and it had never happened with higher resourse demanding games.

After that first BSOD it started happening anytime when the PC was running, even not playing. It could be with 10 minutes or 6 hours of being functioning.

The program BlueScreenView says it may be related to ntoskrnl.exe, dxgmms1.sys or nvlddmkm.sys. I did the search for virus with Microsoft Essentials but found nothing. Didn?t get anything either with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Hope someone around here can help me out ?

Thanks.

Only one memory dump in the uploaded reports. If you're using a disk cleanup program, please stop while we're troubleshooting.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please uninstall the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ

Here's a link to a post on some troubleshooting steps for this sort of error: STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting

If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

i have been having blue screens for around a month mostly while gaming but some times when idle some games have also been quitting randomly which might have something to do with it. i figured out that it has to do with ntoskrnl.exe. i attached a file with only my latest bsod because the others got deleted after running ccleaner. i have also ran memtest and not gotten any errors i will run it 5-8 more times just in case.

About a half a year ago I've bought a totally new PC configuration. It went clearly but in the last one and a half month i started to get BSOD. The problem is coming mostly during playing games but sometimes on a clear desktop the PC reset with a BSOD. I tried to solve it by searching the error code on the internet but so far no result. I tried to reinstall windwos with full updates, only the important driver updates, with new and old drivers. I tried to reproducate the mistake. But after a pure install the bsod happens. Mostly dxgmms1.sys and ntoskrnl.exe, but it is in the attachment. The PC comes with a guarantee/warrant decal so i can't make hardware modifications but i had to make sure it is not a software problem because they don't take it back...
I've alredy done memtest without any problems.
I really appreceate any help. Thank you for replying.

Hello Thiri and welcome to Sevenforums.

BSOD Analyse

I suspect both your Direct-X and Graphics Driver to be a causer. First of, do the below tutorial in order for a clean reinstallation of the Graphics Driver.
1) Nvidia tutorial

i) Make your way to Nvidia Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers and download the latest driver for your card, save it to your desktop for instance.
ii) Uninstall the Graphic driver you currently have and all its extensions (do not reboot yet)
iii) Download Driver Sweeper
iv) Get to safe mode (without network) and search for Driver Sweeper in your
v) Select all the Nvidia components and analyse them
vi) Clean them, head into Windows without internet and install the driver you downloaded previously.
2) ATI tutorial

i) Make your way to ATI Drivers - Downloads and download the latest driver for your card, save it to your desktop for instance
ii) Uninstall the Graphic driver you currently have and all its extensions (do not reboot yet)
iii) Download Driver Sweeper
iv) Get to safe mode (without network) and search for Driver Sweeper in your
v) Select all the ATI components and analyse them
vi) Clean them, head into Windows without internet and install the driver you've downloaded previously.
Direct-X

There's also some pointers to your Direct-X files. Option one is that it could be the Direct-X files. Option two is that it could be a part of the Windows system files, as Direct-X is a part of that. To be one the safe side, update your Direct-X files.

Download: DirectX End-User Runtime - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

SFC /scannow

We usually ask people to do this command to check if Windows is corrupted. It's the most common one used to check if the Windows files are corrupted. If it'll find errors, it'll restore them.

   Tip
If you're having a custom customization layer on your Aero, it's likely to get restored to default.
Press Start | search 'cmd' | Right-click it
| open as Admin | type SFC /SCANNOW

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I've been struggling with these random BSOD's only while playing games (mainly World of Warcraft) and they are random. Some days I get none, others I get 2-3 per day. From what I've read and heard from friends, these issues are probably due to DirectX, my GPU and or RAM. Perhaps it is another process interfering? Thanks in advance for the help. I've attached the recent minidumps.

A:BSOD while playing games or browsing internet. (ntoskrnl.exe ndis.sys)

It appears your installation is counterfeit, no support may be provided until a genuine activation has been used on a clean install.

Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and analysts won't try it.

I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.

I can't confirm this with a Kernel Memory Dump as a minidump doesn't contain much.

You could try Memtest86.
Memtest86 will test your RAM

   Information

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

I also presume that these events were happening before you changed your display driver?
And if so changing your display driver hasn't affected the frequency of the crash?

Hi l3uster.

Sincere apologies for such a belated response. I was not very active in the technical threads for a few days due to some personal reasons.

Can you uninstall the MotioninJoy simulate Xbox 360 controller (virtual Xinput device) driver, and install an earlier version? The version that you are using is crash prone; it is a very widely seen issue; and it is failing in your case, too.

I frequently get BSOD's at the same crash address (ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40) but with different bug strings:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

I usually get it while actively using my computer. I have tried to reinstall windows but it still happens as well as updated all drivers. I have run memtest overnight with no issues as well. I have also reseated all my memory and video card as well.

I have been getting the BSODs for days now started on They happened more or less at random times First time right after boot I launched a browser flash game and that killed it Then I was changing settings of Steam and it died again One more time happened while I was waiting for it to boot was not touching anything even browser games BSOD after boot/idle/playing flash (ntoskrnl.exe) Next time I did not launch any games was just doing browsing It was fine for minutes then I risked starting a flash game again played for minutes - bsod again I don't think all of these got logged but should be around - by now Used the BlueScreenView tool to see that the BSOD (ntoskrnl.exe) after boot/idle/playing browser flash games problem was caused by ntoskrnl exe Tried uninstalling the latest windows update critical update installed on BSOD (ntoskrnl.exe) after boot/idle/playing browser flash games but that did not solve the problem Reinstalling Windows is NOT an option for me since my Windows came on some restore CD thing that formats everything P S Sorry my Windows is in Russian so some of the log files ended up having a lot of Russian in it as well as some weird symbols caused most probably by some encoding errors

A:PC crashing while playing games but not during other heavy load

Intermittent glitches can be very hard to track down. One thing it seems you haven't investigated is audio, but it could still be graphics drivers and almost anything unknown that might cause a conflict. Games are the most demanding so they find the weak links in the chain.

You might try using an optimized account just for gaming where everything else that normally runs in the background is suspended or not allowed to run and see if that makes a difference.

Its's only happened about three times recently, the stop code was 1e (e1? It flashed too fast for me to grab it).
I was having no problems playing Endless Space, Terraria, or Far Cry 3. However the second I opened up Minecraft and a Minecraft Server I got a (the most recent) BSOD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Sounds like bad RAM to me, you have Driver Verifier enabled and it still hasn't picked anything up.

Memtest86 will test your RAM

   Information

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

I've looked at the other threads concerning this driver and tried multiple troubleshooting methods No help so far This error occurs intermittently usually about once an hour and mainly when I'm playing a game I have had a follow-up BSOD shortly after logging in after the initial one and once when watching a video Here's a few steps I already took in trying when games playing caused BSOD "ntoskrnl.exe", by mainly to solve BSOD caused by "ntoskrnl.exe", mainly when playing games the issue memtest with passes and no fails updated the firmware on my SSDs Reinstalled the current AMD driver times Used driver verifier System restore Startup repair Driver verifier caused a blue screen when checking ntoskrnl exe and I had to go into Safe Mode to deactivate it The Startup Repair identifies a problem but says it cannot automatically fix it Restoring to an earlier point doesn't help either all the restore points were too recent The rest haven't had any affect Like I said I've checked every forum on a Google search and none of the troubleshooting tips have solved this I've tried everything I can think of and I just can't figure this one out so I'm asking the advice of people who probably know a lot more than me Thanks in advance for any advice

A:BSOD caused by "ntoskrnl.exe", mainly when playing games

Memtest should be run for a minimum of seven passes. It's easier to let it run over night. Three passes will generally not reveal questionable memory areas.

In any case, check to see if there's an update for your "Extensible Wireless LAN device driver from Atheros Communications, Inc.". Specifically, athrx.sys. You will need to know the adapter model to get the correct drivers.

Also, when was the last time you did some "dusting"? There's a few thermal events logged along with your BSODs that indicate your system may be overheating. Check to be sure your CPU cooler and fans are clean. It only takes a small amount of dust build up to reduce fan output by more than half.

It is VIA USB eXtensible Host Controller Service (c:\windows\system32\drivers\xhcdrv.sys) that is contributing to your BSOD. I wonder how, because your motherboard H81M-DS2V should have Intel USB 3.0 only.

If I have been in your place, I would have performed a clean reinstall and will install
Realtek HD Audio Driver
Realtek LAN Driver
Intel USB 3.0 Driver
Intel Management Engine Interface
Intel INF installation
From GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1150 - GA-H81M-DS2V (rev. 1.0) only. And nothing else from the driver CD.

I will suggest you to do the same.

Dump files (DMP) attached.

I get a BSOD while doing pretty much anything graphics intensive... Before my most recent fresh install of Windows 7, it used to happen while playing games (occasionally while playing StarCraft II or Half-Life 2: Episode 2) but it now is starting to occur (after the fresh install) more frequently and has spread to programs like After Effects. I started to get graphics glitches while rendering a composition (which spread to other programs like Firefox) followed by a BSOD listing the cdd.dll file to blame.

My event viewer states that there have been 3 BSOD's since I've reformatted all linked to a "Kernel-Power" error. I have no idea what this is.

I am hoping this is not a hardware issue, as I don't have the money to replace my video card on a yearly basis.

According to winrar, this is a multi-volume .zip file. I'm not sure if that's the case, but winzip and 7zip also complain about this file, so I'm wondering if perhaps your uploaded zip file is corrupt?

I've encounted BSODs over the past few days They seem sporactic Today I've gone the entire day without one yet two (ntoskrnl.exe) Some games, not. some BSODs, playing 5 days ago I had three in the span of a few hours The first one occured when I opened the program Discord The second occured shortly appx mins after launching World of Warcraft The third occured when I 5 BSODs, Some playing games, some not. (ntoskrnl.exe) opened the Battle net Launcher The fourth I don't remember possibly upon launching Starcraft II The fifth occured after I was two hours into playing livestreaming Starcraft II livestream was being broadcast with OBS multiplatform Things worth noting about the situation A BSOD does not always occur when I open or use the above programs Most of the time they work fine for long periods of time I updated my 5 BSODs, Some playing games, some not. (ntoskrnl.exe) Graphics card driver the night the first BSOD occured however I played Starcraft for several hours that night between the update and the first BSOD This may be related There was a lightning storm a couple of days before the first BSOD which causes the power at my house to flash I live in florida so this is a normal thing but I guess I can't rule out lightning damage My computer and all of it's components are attached to a surge protector Troubleshooting I have already done Installed BlueScreenView and identified that the problem is related to ntoskrnl exe Attempted to test my hard drive for errors using WD's quot Data LifeGuard DIagnostic quot tool It yielded no results although I may have done this incorrectly Attempted to test my RAM using three instances of MemTest which I let run for almost hours It yielded no results although I may have done this incorrectly also Checked my recently updated video card driver to make sure it is up to date which it supposedly is I have no idea where to go from here I'm honestly surprised I was able to get this far myself I'm open to any help Thanks

I would

1-run chkdsk

A- CHKDSK /R /F:

Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

Do this for each hard drive on your system.

When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter.

Then reboot and let the test run.

It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.

See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.
B- Elevated Command Prompt:

Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)

At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"
C-CHKDSK LogFile:

Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter

Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.

Double click on the Source column header.

Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).

Copy/paste the results into your next post.

2- Run a system file check

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

It may need to be run up to three times before sucessful

Read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

Hello all,

I've been having a few problems with my laptop since I bought it. The problem mainly occurs when I'm playing a game (usually xcom: enemy unknown or deus ex HR at the moment) but has occurred when I'm browsing the internet (albeit far less often). The BSODs appear to be random but I'm using a blue tooth mouse and have noticed the BSOD will usually happened if I'm using it. I've also noticed that my laptop screen with black out for a split second on games that are quite graphics intensive for my system.

Its been frustrating me a lot so I reinstalled and fully updated windows 7. The GPU drivers are all up to date also.

I've attached the SF file that is required and would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks for your time

So... about a week ago, I started getting BSODs and it's happening more & more frequently. I played World of Warcraft tonight and did 25man raiding (if this helps anyone) and got 2 IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL or something like that type of bsod message in less than 3 hours. I've been getting BSODs playing other games like Diablo 3 or just idle in D3/WoW & watching a tv show/movie

If anyone can help please post with your knowledge!

BugCheck A, {19e4fd408a44, 2, 1, fffff800038e11c7}

Probably caused by : hardware ( nt!KiRetireDpcList+77 )
The bugcheck seems to have resulted, due to a misaligned instruction pointer, during the processing of the DPC queue. Although, the probably caused line points to hardware, this is usually because the CPU isn't able to translate a address using that particular instruction pointer provided by a driver.

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress. You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try: Stop 124 - What it means and what to try

What is the asushwio.sys file?
Make a system restore point and then uninstall the associated software or update driver.

Hi Guys,

I have issues with my desktop. I randomly get the bsod (kernel data inpage error). I thought it started after I installes the new ATI drivers. So I tried older drivers but without any result. After that I thought it was an issues with Win 7 64bit. So I installed 32bit. But still I get the bsdod.

can you please help?

Win 7 32 bit
oem original
hardware about two years old.
I have a new installed os.The old one started giving trouble after 2 years.

A:BSOD randomly after playing games or playing movies )

SP1 isn't installed, please do the following:

Quote:
Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
1. Visit the PC manufacturer's website and update ALL drivers. DO NOT use Windows Update or the "Update drivers" function of Device Manager.
2. Check Device Manager for any unknown/disabled devices - if there are unknown/disabled devices, fix them with the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website (not the PC Manufacturer)
3. Visit Windows Update and get all updates (may take repeated visits)
4. Visit Windows Update and get Service Pack 1 (usually under Important Updates). Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center
5. Visit Windows Update and get any other available updates. May take repeated visits, but keep it up until you get several "Windows is updated" results.
If you're having difficulties with installing a Service Pack, please use the SURTool from this link: What is the System Update Readiness Tool?
Also, check out this troubleshooting link from Microsoft: Troubleshoot problems installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

I have had limited success in installing updates/Service Packs when using a "clean boot". I suspect that I'm just bypassing the problem - and that it can come back to bite me in the butt later on.

You have an 802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card. Win7 doesn't like these devices. They will rapidly spit out BSOD's if using Vista-era drivers. Here's my rant about these devices:

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.

Quote:
Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Then, download and install a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Uninstall". Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

STOP 0x7A specifically refers to a problem with a missing Service Pack ( BSOD Index )
The c000009d parameter means DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED
And the memory dump suggests that there might be a hardware problem with the hard drive.
Just to be sure, please run this free hard drive diagnostic: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

Microsoft Security Essentials dynamic driver showed up in the memory dump. I'd suggest:
- downloading a fresh copy
- uninstalling the current copy
- installing the freshly downloaded copy and IMMEDIATELY updating it
- perform a full system scan.

Hello, first time poster looking for help as I can't diagnose my issue after trying numerous things. Currently when I play a game the BSOD happens randomly, I can go a whole day without it, or it can happen frequently. It happens the most when I close or exit a game, then it'll kick to a blue screen.

I really appreciate what you guys do and I hope I followed all the instructions right on how to post my logs and stuff, here's the attachment and some basic system specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
I have reinstalled to this computer numerous times.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad q9550 @ 2.83 ghz

GPU: Radeon HD 5770

Mem: 4 Gigs of Memory

Motherboard: p5n32-e sli nforce 680i chipset

Before we can even begin to find the underlying cause you need to update the following drivers. Especially asacpi.sys. Yours is from 2005

Code:
ASACPI.sys 3/27/2005 10:30:36 PM
Lycosa.sys 1/18/2008 4:51:42 AM
nvm62x64.sys 10/17/2008 5:01:06 PM
netr28x.sys 2/25/2009 11:02:09 PM
How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference

A friend of mine is having bsod issues when playing certain games, example:

Rainbox six siege,
Battlefield One (BETA)
and a few others.

Wondering if anyone can give us a clue as to the cause.

Windows Format is done, but to no avail, memtest has been run, and disk checked.

Hey guys I m here to explain you guys my problem BSOD (ntoskrnl.exe) when playing. particularly so about a year ago I bought a Radeon that worked fine at the beginning but then started failing until I had to replace it got another one same model computer didn t even boot when it was on its place Now I got a third one and at first it worked fine but I have some flickering squares on my screen which for some reason BSOD particularly when playing. (ntoskrnl.exe) disappear when I m in a full screen game but what is bothering BSOD particularly when playing. (ntoskrnl.exe) me the most is the constant BSOD particuarly when playing League Of Legends I know this has nothing to do with the game because it happens even when I m browsing the Internet but it happens more often while playing What I also find interesting is that flickering squares only happen some time after the computer has been on After checking out the crashes with BlueScreenViewer it seems that all of the dates the crashes occurred are wrong I have no idea why but I can see most are being caused by ntoskrnl exe and by Windows NT Hope you guys can help me out Gonna upload my minidump folder below Since the dates of the reports are wrong I have no idea of what I was doing at that moment but I guess most crashes must be because of a similar issue I m getting currently about crashes a day sometimes even more and since League Of Legends is a team based game if you leave you are punished and I have been banned twice now I am really desperate for your help thank you OS Version Microsoft Windows Home Premium Service Pack bit Processor Intel R Core TM i - CPU GHz Intel Family Model Stepping Processor Count RAM Mb Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD Series - Mb Hard Drives C Total - MB Free - MB Motherboard Dell Inc Y MRG Antivirus None What I find weird is how my GPU s memory always shows a negative number and only shows - instead of the it s supposed to have right And my RAM is supposed to be gb Windows says only GB are usable is that a weird number Thanks for your help guys P S If mods feel this isn t at the right place feel free to move it please it s my first post in the forums and I m not that much of a tech guy nbsp

Hello, Squirel and welcome to the forums. I will try to help you with this. First,I need you to do a couple of things.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs
You only had 2 dump files which is what we use to debug with. Both dump files had different error codes, but listed basically the same cause.

Code:
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff6fc50068280, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc000000e, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 000000002c581880, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: fffff8a00d050034, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc000000e - A device which does not exist was specified.
DISK_HARDWARE_ERROR: There was error with disk hardware

Code:
CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION (f4)
A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been
terminated.

Your hard drive is apparently showing errors or has failed/is failing.

I don't know what hard drive(s) you have, because of no system specs. But I would suggest you backup all personal data to an external source, first thing. I would then run Seatools for DOS on all Mechanical Hard drives, Internal and external (SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use)

For the past couple of weeks, I've been experiencing intermittent BSODs. Most of them happen during gaming (Giana Sisters, Diablo 3, Final Fantasy XIV, Left 4 Dead 2). I've tried making sure that my drivers are as updated as possible, but no luck. I've done extended tests with Memtest but it hasn't come up with any errors so far.

I've had about 4 occasions of BSODs in almost a month, most of them with different bug check codes. Though BlueScreenView does show "ntoskrnl.exe" as an issue in all four instances. I've attached the results from the SF tool, and if there's any other info that's needed, I'll be happy to give it out.

Thank you all for your time.

A:BSOD during games: ntoskrnl.exe

Hello there mate!

Seems like the crashes is random. "ntoskrnl.exe" is just Windows Kernel which may not be an issue. So we need to dig a little deeper.

So first of all I would recommended to uninstall Asus (PC Probe II) because I seen it causes BSOD very often.

Disconnect any USB based devices, also check for chip set driver updates.

In case if you get BSOD we might need to enable Driver Verifier.

If stopping over clocking does not seem to help with the problem please do the following:

Update your Bios updates can be found on the motherboard manufacturers website.

Run memtest86+ for at least 8 passes: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Run the following commands:

Quote:
SFC.EXE /SCANNOW
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the search box, right click on the cmd.exe and select "Run as adminstrator"
In the black window that opens, type "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Let the program run and post back what it says when it's done.

then from the same command prompt issue the following to check for disk corruption:
Code:
chkdsk /r /f
and lastly please enable driver verifier and allow it ot crash your computer then post the new dump files her the way you did before:

Driver Verifier

If you can not boot normally after enabling verifier please boot into safe mode and disable verifier from safe mode.

Hello, I've been having some problems today while playing a game called APB Reloaded.
I can play any other game on max graphics such as Battlefield 3, FIFA 12 etc. No problems, but when I play ABP Reloaded I get Bluescreen of Death (BSOD) with the error as 'ntoskrnl.exe'.

I have two bug check strings (using Bluescreen View) called: KMODE_EXCEPTIONS_NOT_HANDLES & IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I've added the dumps.

Would be appreciated if someone can help!

Thanks,

Hello all,

Relative computer noob that somehow built his own computer a few years ago lol. Recently I have been getting the dreaded BSOD almost everytime I play BF3, and I am finally deciding to try to get some help on the matter. The causes seem to vary however I've noticed that ntoskrnl.exe seems to be the culprit more often than not. Again, I'm somewhat of a computer noob so I'm not too sure what to really make of all the dmp files, to say I'm confused would be a huge understatement. I've uploaded my dmp file with this post, and if anyone could chime in on what I should do I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi deltax,

Majority of the crashes seem to be caused by the 'ntkrnlmp.exe' driver.

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff8800533ecee, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: fffff880021bd6a8, Exception Record Address

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

*Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl Press Enter.
*Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery - Settings... button.
*Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
*Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kb) in the drop down box (the 256kb varies).
*Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
*OK.
Reboot if changes have been made.

Installed WIn 7 professional 32 SP1(for Battlefield 3). Newer have such problem on XP.

system specs:
Ram: 4g (memory tested)
Processor: Intel Quad core Q6600 2.4
Motherboard: ASUS P5e3 deluxe
Graphics: MSI Ti 560

Also Heroes 6;World of tanks works fine(can play all day no problem).

But Battlefield 3 crashes.

I have already read a lot of forums. I used bluescreenview but still dont know what to do.(flredy done memory test;chdsc).

And still nothing updated all drivers and it still crashes.

It is often ntoskrnl.exe.

As to be honest i don t know what to do with it.

There two minidump files.

Hi,
I'm posting on behalf of a friend, who is not very good at english.
Anyway, his problem seems to appear only while playing Bf3. He formatted and reinstalled windows, checked the RAM with memtest86, and the hard drive with seatools. No errors were reported.
I have no idea what else to try. Hopefully you will be able to shed some light on the issue

That's a hardware error:

Start by updating the BIOS.

Code:
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 2105, 26.5.2009
And go through this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Quote:
A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

I play Battlefield 3 for anywhere from 5-25 minutes and get a BSOD

I attached the minidumps.

A:BSOD while playing Battlefield 3, ntoskrnl.exe

Please provide this info for a more complete analysis: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Driver Verifier is turned on and it's purpose is to cause BSOD's. Please turn it off - the BSOD's will either stop or decrease in frequency.

To do this, launch Verifier.exe
Select "Delete existing settings" and click on Finish
Reboot to complete the operation.

You have both nVidia and ATI video drivers installed - why is this? Please uninstall the one that you're not using.

We have seen numerous problems with the USB XBox controller. Please uninstall it's software and remove the device from your system. Then test to see if it stops the BSOD's.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems. If you choose to uninstall the AMD/ATI video drivers this step may not be necessary.

Quote:
Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Then, download and install a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from http://www.ati.com (in the upper right corner of the page)
- Select the "Custom" installation option and don't let it install AMD OverDrive or the VISION Engine Control Center (if present)
Then use the ATI uninstall manager to uninstall the Catalyst Control Center (CCC). This is a separate issue and isn't required for the AMD OverDrive removal.

Some free alternatives (I don't use them, so I can't comment on them)
KernSafe iSCSI initiator, Virtual CD/DVD-RW Emulator, Virtual Encryption Disk and Virtual CD/DVD-ROM Emulator All-in-One free software.
MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

- Further info on BSOD error messages available at: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html

Hello all, I would be very grateful for any pointers on this problem.

I've had an increasing number of bluescreens over the last couple of weeks which led me to download BlueScreenView to see if it offered any insight. Things I have tried so far:

Initially thinking it was a graphics card driver problem, various clean installs of newer and older versions.
Windows disc check
Windows memory test
11 passes of memtest86
But really I'm just flailing about at this point and don't have a clear idea what to try next. I have attached the files collected with the SF diagnostic tool.

Many thanks in advance.

Heya This will be my first post after a lot of lurking I hope you guys dont mind me posting this as BSOD playing LoL Ntoskrnl.exe whilest a first post though A few days ago my League of Legends got corrupted when I started the game things you normally should have been able to see were missing So I tried reinstall the game apparently I couldnt do it at that time because a file got locked somehow And now I have reinstalled the whole OS as I was setting up all the drivers of the laptop and installing the game at the same time the laptop started to BSOD everytime mid install of the game it would just BSOD Ntoskrnl.exe whilest playing LoL happen randomly After a couple BSOD's I finally managed to install LoL I didnt suspect LoL at the time of BSOD's to be responsible I suspected the drivers hdd to be the cause Anyway BSOD Ntoskrnl.exe whilest playing LoL as I installed LoL and tried to play a game it would regularly BSOD midgame Now I suspect that LoL is the problem but even after uninstalling it just the normal way control panel gt uninstall then reinstalling it the BSOD's still occur while midinstallation I'm still not sure because the BSOD's only happen when i'm having an active online connection to the game server and actually playing with people custom games BSOD's as easily as a normal game with people in it The BSOD's were nearly all about ntoskrnl exe so its definitely BSOD Ntoskrnl.exe whilest playing LoL something else causing it i havent done a memtest I did have some problems downloading the drivers but I have managed to install all of them correctly later on I ran a chkdsk it also came out with problems Blue screen viewer and whocrashed have also been unable to find the problem causing it I'm sorry for any grammatical errors or any form of miscommunication English isnt my first language Thanks

Hi, I have had my new computer since June, It is a new Haswell one and I use the integrated graphics. Over the last 3 months there has been a few random crashes but not many, it has performed well but the graphics driver sometimes crashes and when it does it says its for windows 8 not windows 7. Today it's been on since about 9 so quite a long time then just at 10 to 5 it BSOD and I went into the BIOS and looked at the temps and it was 30 degrees system and 50 degrees CPU. I am not sure what caused the BSOD and would like you guys to have a look for me.

Thanks =)

Started getting many BSODs yesterday while playing multiplayer games. Nothing new was installed or modified recently. Many mentions of ntoskrnl.exe. I've scanned for system file integrity, and it passed. Updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers didn't do much. Here's the BlueScreenView Report. This computer has ran Vista x64 for a long time with no problems, then Windows 7 x64 (with many problems), and back to a clean install of Vista x64 (with a flawless record till today).

Go to C > Windows > Minidump, zip up the dump files and upload them with your next post, you may have to save them to your desktop first.

Hello Locke and welcome to Sevenforums.

To be able to help you, we'd need you to compile a full report. This includes, crash dumps, nfo etc. To get these files, use our thread below.

For now: SFC /SCANNOW - We usually ask people to do this command to check if Windows is corrupted. It's the most common used one to check if the Windows files are corrupted. If it'll find errors, it'll restore them.

   Tip
If you're having a custom customization layer on your Aero, it's likely to get restored to default.
Press Start | search 'cmd' | Right-click it

Hey guys, been getting BSODs, hardlocks with stuttering sound and other really bizarre crashes while playing Hearthstone. My system is normally rock solid, but with HS it crashes in about 30% of my matches, and even when just sitting in the menus sometimes. I've been trying to work out whats going on and nothing really seems to help. I've attached my logs using dm log collecter.

Hi all Hoping you can shed some light on this as I'm at the end of my tether with my machine at the minute Built it myself a little over two years and has been absolutely spot on fine until around months ago Started getting some severe delays on Shutdowns Restarts and then in the last few weeks having ntoskrnl.exe while BSOD's various codes, Overwatch, mainly playing quite a few BSOD's as stated above mainly while playing Overwatch but NOT exclusively Went through the regular culprits driver checks SFC Scan Memory checks etc and BSOD's mainly while playing Overwatch, various codes, ntoskrnl.exe all came up negative so eventually gave in and thought it must be a Windows issue so did a full format of all drives and completely fresh install from scratch Reinstalled everything again and lo and behold the BSOD's are still coming up Various codes bouncing between BAD POOL CALLER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL and KERNAL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE most recent one I've had I've looked through the Dump files with BlueScreenView and all I can see as the culprit is ntoskrnl exe which I'm assuming is a scapegoat for a different problem I can't see If any of you guys can shed any light on what might be going wrong here I'll be incredibly grateful as I'm way out of my league here and can't work it out for the life of me and I consider myself to be fairly clued up I've attached the requested Zip file from the info extractor tool amazing tool whoever made that deserves a medal but if anyone needs anymore information about the system or anything like that let me know and I'll post it back as fast as I can Thanks in advance and fingers crossed Andy

I've had problems with this for a while now. I will randomly BSOD during Arma 3 and other games. Temps are known to be good, CPU runs at about 40C under load, GPU runs at about 55-60C during heavy gameplay on ultra graphics settings. Most definitely not a cooling issue. I'm pretty sure it is driver/software related. I suspect the network card is the culprit, but I've been wrong a few times on this already.

Hello! It's been two years since my last BSOD on my Lenovo Y580 laptop.

I have the latest nvidia drivers, and the iirc the latest drivers since I just re-imaged the laptop a month ago.

Specs of the Laptop:
Intel i7-3630QM
Nvidia GTX 660M + Intel HD4000 (Optimus)
1TB HDD
8GB RAM

I heard this might be either RAM related or software related, but my RAM has been working fine ever since I got this computer about 2-3 years ago.

Attached is the zip file.

Thanks!

Hi biggs223.

Install Intel? Iris? and HD graphics Driver for Windows* 7.

Also, Is the computer hot while it is crashing? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

Let us know the results.

Welcome aboard.
Which mouse do you use?
Which Antivirus do you use?
Which USB audio device do you use?
upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
And update your display driver. Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7
