Preferred Solution: MS Office 2013 wont install after remove all old MS Office files.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,

A charity is considering upgrading its workstations to Office 2013 from Office 2007.
They have lots of files in the .docx, .xlsx, .xlsm, and .xltm formats that they would need to access on a daily basis.

- Would the upgrade cause compatability problems with working with files created under these above formats?

A:Considering upgrade to Office 2013 - potential problems with Office 2007 files?

To my knowledge, they should not have any issues.

We have an upgrade on our computer units here in the company, my problem is when users save their 2007 excel files an error pops up, Errors were detected while saving "File Name". Microsoft maybe able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in new file, click Continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel.

By the way, the files were save on the file server and users access them through single roaming profile that we created with full access on their folders.
i am hoping i could find an answer.

thank you

Hey,

I have a problem with my laptop when trying to re-install Office 2013 preview edition - basically the initial install failed for some reason and can I can neither remove or install this software leaving me in some sort of Microsoft limbo.

Someone I know suggested logging onto the "my account" section of the Microsoft site and actually deactivating the install however that has not solved the problem?

CCleaner has also been run to try and remove any redundant registry entries however again that has not solved my problem.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 (Official)

Thanks

A:office 2013 install failed now cant re-install or remove

Couple of things you can try. Revo Uninstaller Pro has a free 30 day trial. The forced uninstall option should remove the Office 2013 including left over registry entries.

Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily, Forced Uninstall

Or you could try the Microsoft Fix It. If that doesn't work there are also instructions for manual removal.

We are wanting to up-grade our current Office suite Office 2003 to either Office 2010 or Office 2013.  Our PC's are running Windows 7

I would just like to know what peoples opinions and advice is on this?

A:Up-grade from Office 2003 to Office 2010 or Office 2013

I can't speak to Office 2013, but I've done numerous upgrades to Office through 2010.  When you install the new version, you have the option to keep the old version or just replace it.  Starting with Office 2007 the familiar menu bar has been replaced with the ribbons which take a lot of getting used to for folks used to older versions.  There's a little program called UbitMenu that will add most of the menu bar functions back in the 2007 and 2010 versions that a lot of folks find helpful.  If you do opt to have two different versions installed at the same time, what happens is that when you switch from one to the other, it goes through a juggling act that takes a minute or so.  It's a bit of a pain, but if you need it, it could be a convenience.

Good luck.

Thanks!

A:Purchased Office 2010 w/ free upgrade to Office 2013

Hi there
it's in the Ms store already -- although IMO I'd stick to Office 2010 if I were you.
Anyway YMMV so here's the link (UK store) .

Microsoft Store United Kingdom Online Store - Office Suites

What you'd do to get the upgrade price I don't know but Office 2013 IS available for download. Try phoning / emailing -- actually a better option these days is to use a FAX believe it or not for this type of question. Emails tend to get lost as people have 100'000's to deal with, phone calls are diabolical --endless menu systems, loads of waiting and people on the other side of the planet who are incredibly difficult to understand.

The lowly fax machine when it chatters into life usually gets INSTANT attention these days . !!

All ideas and suggestions welcome.

A:Office 2013 will not install

Hi there
1) ensure any old / previous Office version is uninstalled - including any Demo / invasionware type of product.
2) Copy the contents of the DVD to disk - keep folders in same order
3) go to the relevant x86 / x64 folder (depending on whether you want to install the 32 or 64 bit version).
4) run the setup EXE file.

Step 2) might appear unnecessary but I've found in the past sometimes copying to HDD before install works whereas installing from DVD sometimes fails. Don't ask me why - I've had this with perfectly good DVD's and nothing wrong with the DVD writer either.

Folks,
I have been using Office 2003 and 2007 since it came out. I am finding a few quirky things as of late

I have been in the situation where I bought a new pc that had a trial version of MS Office 2010 already installed. I installed a full version of MS Office 2007 and uninstalled the MS 2010 trial version later with no problems.

This was a case where I had MS Office 2007 installed on my work computer and my company had a site license that allowed you to also install a copy at home. That's why I choose the 2007 version over the 2010 version.

A:Cant Install Microsoft Office 2013

The "Click to Run" only works for the 32 bit version as far as I know. If you are only using Office 2013 for home or small business use Microsoft recommend that the 32 bit version be installed, as there are actually more features available on the 32 bit version. Of course the 32 bit version works perfectly on Windows 7 x64. I use the 32 bit office 2013 Pro on my Windows 7 x64.
If you wish to install the 64 bit version, load the Office DVD & then Open to explore the files & if you check these you will find the 64 bit version, then double click on that & it will install the 64 bit version.

Update on this topic, talked to Microsoft support they tell me this is normal to be this size and also due to my system settings and specs.

Since i installed it again, was 57 updates, although i can not see how big each update is now, do not think i downloaded 3GB of updates unless they expanded during installation.

Said something else about language packs possibly being cause, do not see any of those in the updates. When i reinstalled it i usually do not uncheck anything not to be installed, just all the defaults.

Revo uninstaller
shows it at 1279.80MB but again not including updates and service pack.

Howdy all This is my first post on the forum I've had an extremely frustrating problem and can't figure it out I hope someone here can help me out 2013 install Microsoft not will Office In short office will not install on Microsoft Office 2013 will not install my computer It starts going and at some point it just says there's an error and quits It doesn't give me an error number or anything it just stops Here's a little context though I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga and overall I've been very satisfied with the computer However it only came with a GB SSD hard drive so I decided to add another GB SSD in the second hard drive slot I got it in the computer and it works perfectly as far as I can tell The only other thing I changed on my computer was to move the music library to the new hard drive After adding the hard drive I tried to use office some time later and it wouldn't work I tried repairing it with the install disk and it didn't work I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn't work It always just stops at some point as I said above Is there a reason adding a hard drive or moving a library would effect Office Thanks in advance Willm

A:Microsoft Office 2013 will not install

Hi Willm,

welcome to Eight Forums! Good to have you aboard.

About your problem. It is not a problem related to you adding an extra SSD and moving a library. That stuff doesn't influence the Office installation.

Before I can give you advice I need more information. Please provide the following info:
Is it a plain Office pack or the Click-To-Run Office pack?Do you try installing it from a DVD disc or from a standalone executable?Where did you buy the licence? What kind of virusprotection are you using? (i.e. Windows Defender, McAfee, Norton etc.)

Whenever I try to install Microsoft Office 2013, the progress bar reaches full then reverses about half way then I get an error saying "Microsoft setup bootstrapper has stopped working". I have already tried clean booting, safe mode, turning off AV, using repair kit. I tried installing Microsoft .NET framework but it said my OS already comes with it, however I cannot find it in Programs and Features.

INFO
-I do not press "Install" I use a custom install settings
-I have autorun disabled so I open it by running setup.exe as admin
-I have the preview evaluation version
-32 bit version will install however I want 64 bit because my computer is a 64 bit OS

OK so the company I work for finally provided a MAK installation disk and license key for Office for me to install on a bunch of computers I ve copied the entire contents of the CD up to a network share so I can do multiple installations at once which saves me a lot of office with MAK auto-install 2013 time The problem now is that I have to click through each of the steps during installation the license agreement the quot install now quot etc Then I have auto-install office 2013 with MAK to go back after the install is complete and open Word or another app go to Account then change the product auto-install office 2013 with MAK key to the one that I was given which will make the copy of office activated I ve checked online and found that I can create an MSP file that includes the correct product key through the Office Config Tool OCT which I have done but whenever I run the MSP file it tells me that there is no copy of office to quot upgrade quot I ve been able to just run the setup exe and it runs with no problems on a new machine so there s nothing for it to upgrade anyway Now if I install office on one of the machines and then run the MSP file it works fine but there s no reason to do this if Office is already installed How can I make the MSP file work without a previously installed copy of Office on the computer nbsp

Hi there On Thursday th Sept I restarted my computer windows to let windows updates take effect I then went to open a word MS corrupting office files 2013 document and it read that MS office 2013 corrupting files it couldn't be opened because there was a problem with its contents Under details it said the file was corrupt and cannot be opened When you click ok it asks if you want to try to recover the file MS office 2013 corrupting files I clicked yes but again there was a problem with the contents and the details said that some parts were missing or invalid I then tried to open other word documents and excel files and all with the same problem I've also noticed in the preview pane it is missing certain properties like how many pages there are I've tried Repairing office Uninstalling it and installing a version Repairing the file Opening it on another computer Uninstalling the windows updates Using salvage software Scanning for viruses System restore the restore point was corrupted for some reason and it didn't work For a brief period all my files were able to be opened again so I do have recent backups but the issue is that it keeps corrupting any documents I upload and save after the computer is turned off restarted However I did start a new document and that is still yet to be corrupted even when other files uploaded after that was made have become corrupted Any ideas Is this just an update that messed with my program

A:MS office 2013 corrupting files

You say you tried system restore and the restore point was corrupted? Did you get any error codes or error messages with that? That suggests your registry or certain system files may be corrupt. The fact that the office files are corrupt and can't be fixed, and that it happened after you installed new updates, seems to back that up.
In short, this may be symptomatic of larger issues on your system. You may want to run sfc/scannow from the command prompt.

A:Can't install Office 2013, stuck on 94% progress!

Try uninstalling Office again & then disable your anti virus program, before again installing it.
When Office 2013 is installed from a DVD, it does some of the installation via the internet from Microsoft, so it is also important to have you internet connection working at the same time.
Hope this gets you up & running.

I downloaded the hebrew language pack for my version of office, but it won't install. It says I am running the "preview" version of office, and I can't install a language pack on it.
True that I once had that version, but now, I am running an activated professional plus with all updates.

I then tried downloading a full installation file for hebrew office 2013, and choosing the "repair" option instead of "install". It "repaired" everything, but I still don't have an option for hebrew interface in the language tools.

Is there a way to manually install the language interface files I need?

A:office 2013 install new interface language

okay, I installed the hebrew\english version on top of the existing english-only version. It did not mess up anything, and it installed the hebrew interface option that I needed for a certain user account.

I am running Office 2013 on a cleanly installd SDD that has only ever had office 2013 installed on it. Any idea why windows update is giving me Office 2007 updates, specifically

(KB947318)(KB2817330)(KB2878233)(KB2878233)

I should decline these, right?

thnx

A:Office 2007 updates when I only have Office 2013

No don't decline these updates.
Office 2013 updates in the background & does not show up in the usual Windows Updates section. I am using Office 2013 Pro & I have it set for installing updates automatically.
It would be best just to let any updates that are required to be installed. Often certain updates are incorporated to cover a few versions of Office as they earlier ones need it so they incorporate it to cover all the applicable versions, which may also include later versions.
Therefore just leave it alone as fiddling with updates often causes trouble. Also it is just a whole lot of unnecessary work for you.

Hello,

I have uninstalled office 2010 few days ago and did a clean installation of office 2013.
But windows update is showing updates for both office 2010 and office 2013.

I have uninstalled office 2010 using Revo uninstaller so there are no traces
Am I missing something.

A:Office 2010 and Office 2013 both updates available

Hi there
Why on earth do people insist on using these 3rd party uninstaller apps for BOG STANDARD Microsoft applications --Ms OFFICE is one of the most used pieces of software on earth so installing / uninstalling it should be a breeze via STANDARD uninstall method.

Had you simply uninstalled via control panel then the entire problem would not exist.

Your 3rd party uninstaller obviously hasn't done its job properly as there is still some indication on your machine that Microsoft Update thinks you still have Office 2010 installed.

IMO 3rd party apps are better left for NON OS type applications - things like installing / uninstalling / updating software should be left to the OS itself. Very few 3rd party apps IMO should be allowed to interfere with the internal functions of the OS itself -- even AV software - but that's another issue.

My solution here would be to either restore your syste to a time before you installed the "Uninstaller" app or re-install a clean copy of windows, re-install the version of office you want and apply the updates.

Note -- when Ms updates programs it might make all sorts of registry changes "on the fly" and it's impossible for a 3rd party uninstaller to be able to handle or even find all these changes.

Cheers
jimbo

Hello: I brought my MS Office to my new computer a few months ago. That version was/is 2010 on a windows XP. I now have the 2013 version of MicroSoft Office it is however the 64 bit version on a machine running windows 7 Home Premium.

I am concerned about losing my data over the transition.

I received the message that it is not possible to instal the 64 bit version until the 32 bit version is removed.

I would be very grateful if someone would provide guidance on the correct order and steps to accomplish this change over. The Data is backed up. I would not like to lose the Data in the various programs.

A:Solved: MS Office 2013 Pro Product Key Failed Install

Hi there,

I feel your pain here. What you have experienced is Microsoft's new 'click to run' (C2R) install process, which streams the install over the internet. The idea is that it will be quick and you can start using the application(s) before they're completely installed, just not all of the features. But, like I said that's the idea, and it sometimes doesn't work that way. Personally I hate it and always ask for the MSI (downloadable file you can run locally), although I have got it to work myself. In fact I don't know anyone who has actually been pleased by this process.

While I don't have a solution for you, I did want to post so you knew you weren't alone in the frustrating process described. That being said, I do think Office 2013 is their greatest achievement yet and is by far the best piece of Office software they've released.

I hope this is the correct method to recieve assistance.  If not, please point me in the right direction.

Before this week, I was having some minor USB 3.0 issues on my laptop.  Things were also slow in general.  I then tried to install a legal corporate Office 2013, after unintalling Office 2010.  Word and Outlook 2013 worked fine, so I did the Windows Update to get the possible security updates.  Once they were done, I shut the system down.  When I turned it back on, Office 2013 was gone, included the icons.  There was a place holder icon for Outlook 2013 but nothing more.  Assuming I should try to reinstall Office 2013, I attempted that but was given a bootstrapper error.  In a last ditch effort, I tried Windows Update, which only hung for 20 minutes.

Suggestions?

Thank you for the help.

I have recently installed Office Professional Plus 2016 (the full package, with nothing left out, as well as Outlook 2016). However, I recently discovered that Outlook 2016 doesn't support the Business Contact Manager addin.

So, can I install only Outlook 2013 (and BCM) alongside Office 2016, without removing/breaking either? Does anyone else have this setup working without issues?

Thanks!

It used to be that double clicking on an Office file would open the file. Now, with Office 2013 a double click on a file is not opening the file, it is just opening the related Office program (Word or Excel, for instance). How do I get the file I'm double clicking to open with the Office program?

Thanks.

I need help desparately as I may have been scammed. I lost everything on my HP laptop including HIGHLY CRITICAL medical information as I just had a kidney transplant June 2nd as well as everything around my family and entire life. Was directed to call [edited: not HP Support number] to get help. Ended up of course in India with an "HP" tech support group that presents themselves as a HP tech rsource. Been tossed around for 12 DAYS with no results. I cannot and will not give up. Please ANY SUGGESTIONS on how I can recover lost data. Would deeply appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Becoming a medical issue now in addtion to an emotional one.

Many Thanks,

A:Microsoft Office 2013 Install unsuccessful, error 1603

Looking through the log file you have posted it appears the setup is failing because of a permission issue.

Setup.exe is being run from the G:\ drive.

You need to copy the Setup file to the C:\ drive before attempting to run it.

Hello, I have installed 2013 preview and all has gone well. However, there is a file association issue because none of my office files are recognised.

From within any of the 2013 applications I can open my files, no problem, but opening from outside word for example clicking on a word file on my desktop brings up the which program window. Attempting to create the association through the default programs dialogue does not offer the possibility to associate with 2013 applications as they are not listed.

Your help and guidance is very much appreciated.

Hi experts Anyone know if it's possible to have Office bit and Office bit running on the same computer Windows Enterprise bit This link partially answers the question but doesn't say if you can mix and bit versions I have to keep EXCEL bit as (32 Office together (64 bit) 2013 and Office bit) 2010 I Office 2010 (32 bit) and Office 2013 (64 bit) together have some addin's that don't work on the bit version EXCEL I HATE outlook so the restriction on Outlook is fine by me Mixing the and bit versions is my main concern here Note you have to have office already installed to enable the quot Side by Side quot feature apparently -- not tried it yet Office Side-by-side or upgrade Jussi on SharePoint Please posters who have actually TRIED this combination on ANY version of bit Windows One often get posts like quot It should be possible or I don't THINK it will work If you've tried this or can post me to an official Ms link saying it either works or doesn't work then I'd appreciate the help I don't actually like office -- I intend for all sorts of reasons sticking with office but there will be times when I have to run office and I really don't want to have to set up a separate Virtual machine just for that - or another Windows to Go system Cheers jimbo

A:Office 2010 (32 bit) and Office 2013 (64 bit) together

Here is one reference that might satisfy you:

"Compatibility with existing Office files and solutions

The 64-bit version of Microsoft Office isn?t compatible with any other 32-bit version of Office programs. So you must first uninstall all 32-bit versions of Office programs before you install the 64-bit version of Office."

I found another on Technet, but like a dummy I left the page, and, for some reason, couldn't find the reference again. It said 64 and 32 bit versions cannot be installed on the same machine.

No.

While possible it is not recommended to install multiple versions of Office on the same computer. But they both must be the same bits. The only way this could be done is to install one on a virtual machine.

Is there any difference in the features provided by office 2013 vs office 365? I am looking to get one, but cannot decide.

A:Choosing between office 2013 and office 365

yes some extras , they are both 2013 versions at the moment
365 gives you the full range
365 you can unauthorise and re-install on a different PC
365 comes with 1TB of onedrive space
365 you can also put on a tablet or phone
365 will be updated to the latest version

2013 stays on the PC its first installed on and cannot be transferred
2013 you can get different versions (with outlook, publisher, access products), which cost different prices

OK I am curious. I am trying to understand the difference between these two: Office 2013 is just an updated version from office 2011 and its predecessor, and Office 365 is like Google docs, except that its a paid subscription. I don't see any logic to why I want to pay annually where I can just do Google docs, or just use a regular office application.

A:what's the difference between office 2013 and office 365

Nice article with a comparison chart: Office 365 vs. Office 2013: Should you rent or own?Only you know your personal use needs and requirements. If it's about money there are free alternatives. Renting means always the latest and greatest updated apps available. Buying means at some point antiquated and possibly no longer compatible or becoming problematic. Choose what works for you and your needs.

Hello Community,

I'm having an issue here, and reading through threads and forum posts - i'm getting nowhere.

I get no error messages when trying to open a file from a mapped drive.

I have a user onsite unable to open any Mircosoft Office 2013 files from any of his mapped network drives. If he takes the files, copies them locally to his laptop, then open perfectly fine. However, if i try to open a office file from their mapped drive, it just opens up a blank document.

--I've done the changing folder name of the Microsoft folder within %AppData%, still no luck.
--I've tried repairing Microsoft Office, still no luck.

I don't want to uninstall office, then re-install as i will have to drop the computer off our domain (Group Policy for some reason, blocks office.) *I'd prefer this to be the final option.

Surely there must be a fix around? Much thanks!

Hi there Unless you have an ACTIVE Internet connection or other Network Mail Server connection such 2013 2013 set to --OUTLOOK connection Internet Office requires up as Exchange you will NOT be able to set up OUTLOOK Outlook requires and there is no option unlike in Outlook to disable it by unchecking a box a TEST email to be sent and working before your account s can be configured-- Once it's done you don't have to be online but if you need to set up several accounts and you don't have a working internet connection -- Tough luck Why on earth did Ms do this --it's not necessary and it is a Hassle for some people who are on the road have purchased Office and want to set it up Office 2013 --OUTLOOK 2013 requires Internet connection to set up instead of having to wait Office 2013 --OUTLOOK 2013 requires Internet connection to set up until they get home Also a hassle if they want to prepare company laptop computers with email parameters in advance of the new Exchange email servers being rolled out to the users Even if your work policy has mechanisms where the USER can configure the email connections themselves they won't be able to set it up until the Servers are actually in place so you can't set the accounts up in advance The box I've shown here is from Outlook In Outlook the option is filled in and greyed out so you can't change it BTW I prefer and use Office myself but was trying to help a colleague to set up Office Cheers jimbo

Of course you can uncheck the Test email box. It has been so in all Outlook versions, is still so in Outlook 2013.

The option is grayed out exactly as long as the NEXT button is grayed out i.e. as long as they could not be used due missing credentials, until the setup has all relevant information for an email account to work (email address, incoming and outgoing servers, username and password). When you have filled the needed credentials, both the Test box and NEXT button become visible and can be clicked / selected.

Although I could well understand that setting up an email account, which in any case needs a working connection, would require an existing connection, this is not the case with Outlook 2013. You can set your email accounts up while sitting in a pub in Brussels watching Premier League Football without Internet connection if you want to .

Hiya,

Hiya everyone, iv just registered today. I am in the middle of upgrading a schools network to 2003 server with XP clients, I have all the users in a GPO, and all the machines in different areas segmented into separate GPO’s. The problems arise with the GPO package deployment. I am trying to install Office XP on every machine, and have found that when I set it on the GPO, it wont install it at the client its as if it isn’t even reading the GPO, but its doing everything else in the GPO, I have tried both applying it the computer and the user with no effect. Can anyone help?

Craig Dunn

A:XP wont install Office XP

Have you run a GPRESULT on any of the problem computers to confirm that they are getting the policy?

GPRESULT is available from Microsoft at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/tools/default.asp

Save the GPRESULT.exe file to c:\windows (or that is where I usually save it to) and go to a command line and type GPRESULT to get a list of GPO's (user and machine) affecting the machine.

If your GPO isn't listed there, you have the challenge of figuring out why. If it is there, then you have to figure out why it isn't doing what you want. But at least this is a starting place.

Hope this helps a little.

Hi there Whoever designed the base colors for Office must have been totally STONE DEAF and COLOR BLIND at the same time I can't believe that comments weren't made before this stuff was allowed out of the door There's almost no possibilities to customize the backgrounds or colors and on a large monitor the base white looks really HIDEOUS -- you need a good pair of Sunglasses while working with it The Outlook 2013 (Office De-Uglify Help 2013) to only other choice is some type of Grey shown in screenshot which looks very similar to quot The Fruit Company's Window colour scheme Still looks Outlook 2013 (Office 2013) Help to De-Uglify hideous and that Blue Outlook also displays the unread message titles in the most sickly blue can't seem to change it I've ever seen Before I remove this POS from my computer is there anyway to De-Uglify or customize like I had in Office with the Black background I don't like it opening with a prompt screen before I get the base screen often needs another TWO keyboard strokes -- example for EXCEL shown -- I should be able to open it in a Window with the menus just like like Office It means I now have to make a load of extra keyboard strokes before I actually get a workbook screen to start getting my work done I don't want the sign in reminders either -- I don't intend to use Cloud services etc Cheers jimbo

I don't use text documents that often but did download Open Office and I like it. But I shouldn't need both OOo and Windows, should I? I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and it came with Windows Office Powerpoint Viewer 2007. Can I just uninstall that program?

I LIKE being able to uninstall Windows stuff because--as I understand--they tend to take up a lot of space. But OOo is 374 MB and Windows is only 133 MB. The "Viewer" looks like it may be an introductory abridged version of the real thing and I suspect I don't need it. I think it's what it is--only a viewer--as I see nowhere I can compose a doc.

Can I dump it?

Thanks, as always for your generous help.

A:Can Open Office let me remove Windows Office?

Powerpoint Viewer is independent of MS Office. It was designed for people, who don't have Office, but wanted to open Power Point presentations.
It's up to you. You can keep it just for that purpose, or use OO to open pps files.

Guys, I had Office 2007 installed before. It was working fine till I messed everything up.

So I tried to install Office 2010. 1st I removed each components of office 2007 with the help of Windows Install Clean Up utility. Even though it is not uninstalled completely. I'm attaching some screenshots.

Now when i try to run the Office 2010 Setup it gives some kind of error. I think these components need to be removed 1st before installing Office.
I hope i'll get a solution soon.

There are several other issues in my laptop. I'll discuss them one by one.

Good Day,

I've often used the Files and Transfer Wizard to move files in the Windows XP environment, including those for people moving from Office 2003 to 2007, however, I've just been asked to move a person from a computer that would result in them moving backwards from Office 2007 to Office 2003; is this possible? What concerns should be considered? Obviously if they have a number of documents saved in the 2007 it could be problematic, though could the compatibility pack offered by Microsoft offset that concern? Thoughts? Thanks.

Regards,
Jeff

Sat. many of my programs somehow got deleted. One was Office03. I am using WinXP2. When I look in explorer under office all the files seem to be there. When I click on any.exe i get a message This patch package could not be found. Verify the package exists.
When I click ok it says this item is unavailable, it may of been moved, renamed or deleted, do you want to rename it from the list. I have tried to uninstall or install over the old files and get the same file. I am stuck. What can I do? I hope this is the correct forum. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

My suggestion is to take the hard drive from this computer and install it in another computer as a slave drive and when the drive is recognized then manually backup all of the important data on the drive to another media like CD-R's, DVD or other media you prefer.

When this is done then return the hard drive to the original computer and do a clean install with format and install everything al over again.

I have several client PC's using my personal office 365 account that I want to move to their own separate office 365 account so that they are not in my account any longer. I have already logged into my account & deactivated them but need to give my client instructions on how to reactivate them with their own office 365 account.

Can anyone tell me how to re-install Microsoft Office? I've just had to do a complete re-install of Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition (as a parallel, repair function was not working on the original version) after a blue screen error nightmare followed by issues with the keyboard and mouse not being recognized. Those issues are now resolved and I was able to keep my data. I see everything in the system has been restored except Microsoft Office 2007. I can see the files but cannot access the actual program. My word and excel files are there but I cannot open them without the program. I do have the Application and Drivers & Utilities CD's (DELL Dimension E520). Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Karen

A:[SOLVED] Need to re-install MS Office 2007 in Windows XP - (actually Office 2003)

You need the Office 2007 installation cd . . If it came with the PC, Dell should have included it in the package of cd's with the system

Hi Folks,

The title of the thread says it all really.

I have legitimate copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate on my PC. I have just bought a copy of Office 2016 Professional Plus through the HUP.

I haven't installed Office 2016 yet - I use Office 2010 at work and find using Custom Animations in PowerPoint tricky compared to Office 2007.

I'd like to install Office 2016 alongside Office 2007 until I have tried Office 2016 to see if the Custom Animations in PP are easier than the 2010 version before switching completely.

My question is, can I install Office 2016 alongside Office 2007 without conflicts - switching between versions without a problem or will installing Office 2016 screw Office 2007 or worse FUBAR both Office installations or my PC.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers,

Zaph

Hey All,

Here is my issue. The Company we consult for has not transitioned all of the way to Office 2007. We have a number of machines that still have Office 2003. Compatibility Pack works on almost all issues.

Current issue is one of our users received a PowerPoint 2003 that has embedded PowerPoint 2007 files. When the user opens the PowerPoint 2007 file Office 2003 shuts down. He has to download the 2007 file to his desktop.

From what I can see this is because the file conversion process shuts down Office 2003 before attempting to open the PowerPoint 2007 file.

Another issue that may be complicating the error is we had to run a Fixit patch from Microsoft that was causing Excel, Word and PowerPoint to be scanned which caused long opening times. I don't remember the KB article for that one at the moment but will find it if I need to.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hello,

I am running Office 2003 on Windows 7. My PC is only 6 months old and everything has been running like butter. All of a sudden Office files open slowly when double-clicked from their respective locations (they would normally blink up). If I open Word or Excel and then open the files from there, they open quick. Outlook on the other hand, is just slow to load up...which it wasn't before.

I did a ton of research online and couldn't get a clear fix. My thoughts are:
Anti Virus? (I'm using AVG Free)
Ad-Aware Free? (Ad-Watch live is on...however it was on before)
Windows update or office update?

But obviously I'm here to get your thoughts. It's a pain in the ass when I bought a new PC so it could perform quick, and now spreadsheets and email take 20 seconds or more to open.

I just wanted to add that when I disconnect the PC from the internet, the problem seems to go away?

Having upgraded my desktop PC to Office 2010, I need to import three seperate letter template files for use in Word. These were lost during the upgrade but are on my laptop, which still runs Office 2003, as .dot type files and I also have them copied to a memory stick. However, I am at a loss as to how and where to save them into the new programme on my desktop PC. If it makes a difference, I should add that I do not use Libraries and have disabled them.
Can anyone advise please?

A:Importing template files from Office 2003 to Office 2010

Problem solved - with a bit of advice from a friend! Unsurprisingly, it's very simple.

- Open the document in Word
- Click "Save As"
- Scroll to top of folder list and, under "Microsoft Word", click "Templates"
- Name the template and select "Word Template" in the "Save As Type" list
- Save it

I still don't know where they are saved to but I can now call them up and use them.

Cheers

This isn't an upgrade. I bought the full version Office Professional 2003 and would like to install it over what I have now. I had Office 97 and an upgrade CD to Office 2000. Will I lose anything to install Office 2003 over Office 2000? I have WinXP home if that makes a difference.
