I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Issue with your ISP? Call them and see if they are having any issues, if not, make sure nothing on your computer is using the network heavily (something like Pando Media Booster, it has been known to slow internet connections)

Torrent programs do the same thing, or can.

But otherwise, reset your modem/router, let them sit for 30-45 seconds and start them back up. See if the issue is resolved.

Hello,

as topic states. After 5 minutes after I log in to Windows my latency to all servers raises to 300-600ms and internet browser throws timeouts to certain websites.

Below logs from OTL and DDS.

OTL: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=Dhwi90Dp
DDS: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=QMww3FZE
DDS(2): http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=x9w8Y1Jj

My website runs off of an Access Database days ago I attempted to add new records to the DB doubling its size to about mb I haven t touched the queries or anything The problem now is that when someone accesses the site it creates a ldb file and on timeouts, DB Access connection New Website. - records growing. 2003 MS added .ldb this ldb file gets bigger in size with each hit on the site The MS Access 2003 DB on Website. New records added - connection timeouts, .ldb growing. site gets progressively slower as the ldb file gets larger After only a few hits the site becomes completely unbrowsable as the database fails to respond The ldb file is locked and I have to restart the server to be able to access the database again I removed the new records and reuploaded the database The site went back to working as usual I can catch a glimpse of the ldb file once in a while but it doesn t build up and shut down the site like it does when the new db I tried adding just one new record and the database still worked properly Why is that ldb file sticking around for so long with the new db What can I do to add the new items without completly crippling the site The server is Windows and the site is coded in ASP Any help would be appreciated Thanks nbsp

A:MS Access 2003 DB on Website. New records added - connection timeouts, .ldb growing.

Are you importing the new records into the database?

I have found that importing records, expecially large amounts increases the size of my database, and that means the ldb will grow.

After your Import, do a Compact and Repair. I've seen my db go from 8+ MB back to just over 4MB after this.

I think that may help.

A:online gaming high latency?

Stop all programs that are using the Internet on both your computer and your network. If this does not help, you need to find a server closer to home or call your ISP.

Unfortunately, there are many people waiting to be assisted and not enough of us at BleepingComputer to go around. I appreciate your understanding and diligence.Thank you for your patience thus far.Unfortunately there is evidence of illegal software on your computer. Before addressing your computer I will ask you to remove Microsoft Office 2010 from you system as well as any other programs requiring a valid Product Key which you do not have. Whenever I try to use analogue LINE IN on my Windows 7 machine there is latency,- it's quite marked. It doesn't matter whether output is wired or optical.

This used not to happen but now it does: this does not appear to be a sound card issue as I have tried three different ones to the same effect.

Everything else works,- playing audio is fine. Can anyone suggest what else might be causing this?

The audio which is input is fine,- it's just the monitoring of it which is delayed by .25 second.

Hey,

I'm experiencing bad DPC Latency at idle and at high usage on my PC and would really love some advice.

List of Devices:

At Idle: No popping and just laggy interface

At High Usage: I hear popping noise and experience video sync and lagging interface.

I've disabled devices in hoping to fix it but such luck.

A:DPC Latency Issue

After much testing it seems that I've resolved this by uninstalling Realtek HD Audio drivers and updating all my drivers using the software SlimDrivers.

Results Now:

Hello!

For the last few months my latency has been extremely high. Around 200-400 ms is normal for me now. I am on a 512kb connection and go through a router. The latency is high on games and also when i run a trace route to google for example.

Can anyone suggest anything?

If you need anymore information then just ask.

Thankyou

Dear Sir Madam I hope I have put this in the right subforum I run windows home premium on my HP Laptop and lately I have have been plagued with latency issues whenever I try and use traktor with my S controller every now and then something causes the latency to skyrocket causing clipping of the sound I have run the program with problems in the past obviously something has changed My girlfriend downloaded this stupid baidu player it's the last traktor / issue latency time she messes with my laptop which was causing traktor / latency issue the bulk of the problems after I uninstalled it of the clipping disappeared traktor / latency issue but yet something is still causing problems I have tried closing every program I can in the task manager disabling devices etc in order to try and figure it out but I have had no luck I have the latest traktor drivers and that damn baidu media player is the only thing i know of that was installed or was changed in the gap between issues and my current situation Possibly related other thing I have noticed Whenever I open a new tab in google chrome it defaults to http search conduit com and despite me changing my search engine settings it constantly defaults to this damn site Is it likely that I am infected with something

A:traktor / latency issue

Hi Igloo_nachos. Most likely you were infected with certain Adwares such as toolbars and plugins that are bundled with recently installed softwares with regard to the symptoms provided. Please run the scans and follow the instructions below. Download Adwcleaner by Xplode from here.Click on Adwcleaner and hit the Scan button and will begin to search for PUP and malicious files. Once finished click the Delete/Clean button. Copy and paste the log on your next reply. Scan for Malware using free MalwarebytesInstall then run a quick scan only after updating to the latest definition. Uncheck the trial pro version on setup and remove any found threats after running the scan. Please post also the result. Download MiniToolBox and run the program. SelectList Last 10 Event Viewers, List Installed Programs and List Users, Partitions and Memory Size then click Go.A notepad will open then copy-paste the report on your next reply. Download SecurityCheck.exe from Here . Run SecurityCheck and follow the instruction from inside the code box.. When the scan is finished, a notepad will automatically open as check.txt   Please copy and paste the contents here on your next reply.

Hi I've recently started noticing significant audio issues lag (audio issue latency DPC lag) stuttering static when browsing internet both on chrome and firefox win It occurs when the browser is loading new content After some googling I've found out it is DPC latency issue (audio lag) most likely related to DPC latency caused by some driver DPC latency check proved that theory right at least that I've had issues with DPC latency The latency checker results red spikes are me opening new site like reddit facebook etc in a new tab After running Latency Monitor program for about half a minute while browsing I've got the following results cm is a driver for my external audio card Xonar U 's chip and I can't find anywhere in the device manager where I could update it nor any corresponding driver on the manufacturers homepage USB Audio PCIe audio USB audio ic USB sound chip--C-Media Electronics Inc Even with DPC latency issue (audio lag) the audio card disconnected and uninstalled the latency checker shows serious spikes and the issue remains I've also noticed few dozens hard pagefaults in chrome while running latency monitor At this point I am stuck Any ideas whether I am on the right track and what more I can do to troubleshoot this issue please I'm gonna call Asus support regarding the sound card but I doubt they can help much since I've already got the latest driver from their site which is years old at this point

A:DPC latency issue (audio lag)

I had serious DPC latency spikes on my system after I installed Chrome. As it turned out the Google updater that was installed with Chrome was causing my problems. However, I uninstalled Chrome, using Revo Uninstaller Pro (which also searches out left over registry entries) but the Google Update program was still there. I had to manually edit the registry to finally get rid of the Google updater.

I know this has been threaded all throughout the internet on many different websites and I think we need too get to the bottom of this As usual this is a problem that happens when I use Windows -bit I think it's happened to -bit users as well and DPC Issue Latency NDIS.sys I read some cases with XP users but as for me when I had XP I never experienced any of this In my case I need to run Windows due to the fact that I have gigs of ram in NDIS.sys DPC Latency Issue my system and Windows XP -bit has basically no drivers developed for it that are in working condition My specs are ASUS M A -M mobo AMD Athlon II X Processor GHz GB of RAM Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller XFX AMD Radeon HD mb Steinberg CI Audio Interface Basically when I disable the network adapter everything works smoothly music games video files etc but once it's on my LatencyMon shows NDIS sys running at ms NDIS.sys DPC Latency Issue where as everything is in the microseconds more or less Although at the very moment netbt sys is running at ms I don't know if that's bad or good but I definitly notice when the network adapter is disable I get no audio-dropouts static distortion Is there any way of fixing this issue that anyone has come up with I tried a whole bunch of different methods including updating drivers uninstalling applications one by one disabling enabling different options in control pannel power management etc NOTHING but disabling my network adapter does anything so I know that is the problem The only questions that remain are how to go about fixing it and why hasn't Microsoft addressed this issue because I see it with all different types of network adapters not just Realteks Thanks in advance

Good Morning First let me get all the basic info out of the way I am running WinXP Pro bit with all current updates at this time including look. this Puzzled issue, by latency a please take all Service Packs I am connected right now to the internet via Time Warner cable I am using a Netgear Wireless N router model WNR v I am hardwired using shielded CAT cable directly to the router I have carbonite as a back up and I disable it during game play I am not running any anti-virus but do keep my windows firewall up My motherboard is EVGA i SLI FTW My processor is Intel Core duo E gig I have gigs of Corsair Ram Video Card is EVGA Nvidia Gforce GTX core yadda yadda yadda My Problem I am playing EQ on the Antonia Bayle Server My latency is horrible My latency is ALWAYS at to My two friends one in Tennessee is at and the other our guild leader is in London England and his is about I live in Ventura CA SOE s severs for this game Puzzled by this latency issue, please take a look. as far as I know are in San Diego I have tried everything to solve the latency problem and found something that puzzles me to no end I forwarded ports for this game I have plugged directly to the cable modem and NOTHING reduced the Puzzled by this latency issue, please take a look. latency I disabled the firewall nothing worked Alas I re-installed the motherboard drivers days ago and suddenly the latency in game went down to and stayed down all night while I played which was about hours When I got back on the next morning the latency was very high again So I proceeded to reinstall the drivers for the Ethernet and USB bus again and it fixed it again I came back that night and it was high again and again when I reinstalled the driver it fixed my in game latency issue What is causing this problem Is it really the Ethernet port on the Motherboard I have two and swapping out to the other does NOT fix the in-game latency but reinstalling the driver does I did notice that even after reinstalling the driver last night the latency slowly crept back up to over Is this an issue that is local to my machine or can the internet connection from Time Warner also play a part This latency occurs at all times of day from early morning am to late at night I thought maybe it being a cable connection might be the cause but the latency would go down at least at one point during the day if that was the case I have internet connection which acts fine however in game the latency is terrible Please help if you might have any insight on what this might be I am going to look for an ethernet card in the garage and see if that does the trick Thanks much nbsp

A:Puzzled by this latency issue, please take a look.

I went in and added an ethernet card and disabled the onboard ethernet ports. This did not change anything. I am still having a terrible latency issue. I have fine web browsing. If you all need reports or technical data please tell me how to get it and I will post it here. I can provide a Dxdiag if needed.

I just want to be pointed in the right direction on what is going on...
Thanks.

First physically remove the USB sound card, not just disable it in device manager, and see if that makes the latency issues disappear. In previous high DPC latency cases, often USB devices were at fault.

I've been having similar issues with connectivity. Really bad during the day but then it gets better at night. I checked my computer and my service provider and everything was find. I've also talked with some other players with similar issues. It seems that Blizzard is just having some issues with latency. I emailed Blizzard about a week ago but they have yet to respond. Hopefully they will have the issue resolved shortly and we can go back to normal game play.

It is my mouse drivers (8.1 Standard) that is either damaged or broken. I have never encountered this issue before and it is bugging me.

Because it is the standard one, how do I fix it?
I cannot uninstall the drivers or reset them to an earlier version.

Recently, I started playing WoW again on my new computer, but the latency has made the game unplayable. I'm not sure what's causing it, but I think it lies in my particular make of computer, since my other systems have no trouble running the game. It's a Dell Inspiron 530s with Windows Vista. I don't think Vista is the problem, because I've used Vista for gaming before, unless my settings are somehow messing the connection up or something. I use the same router for all the computers in my house, so I don't think my internet connection is the problem here.

I do not know very much about computers, and if you need any more information, I may not understand what you're asking for, but still ask!

I know nothing about your particular hardware, but when I have had problems with crackling sound, I was able to eliminate it by adjusting and/or reseating the cables in their connectors. I'm assuming that your audio and video work through the same HDMI connection, if not, then I don't know what to say.

A:pls help with audio and graphics issues - latency issue?

Hello, Are you certain your PC is compatible with Win 10? You will see some PCs suffer badly from this with Win 10. One common culprit for some people is Bitdefender (see my notes below). Diagnosing cause can be difficult, and you may need to resort to using MS's xperf analysis tool.

First please search the forum for 'stuttering crackling' using the search box above. You will get a lot of results:
See if you can find anything helpful.

Second, please post screenshots of LatencyMon and its various tabs here
Third, please do the same for your task manager when your PC is idle, making sure the processes using most CPU/RAM/DISK are at the top by clicking the appropriate tab.

Fourth, here are some notes I've collected:

Hello All I look after our companys modest IT system We have a SBS installed with web exchange with approximately wired desktop workstations a few copiers and several mobile devices connected to our wifi The majority of mobile users are connected to a secondary guest wifi with bandwidth limitation and isolation For about of the time we Small Business Network Latency Issue - have no issues with our web connectivity it s far from speedy standard ADSL approx mb downstream but there s no apparent slowdown The rest of the time we get encounter issues accessing the web Pages load but extremely slowly During the latency I run a ping from my workstation to the web and notice anything from ms to over ms latency However if i ping directly from the Draytek Vigor router to the web i get a standard response of approx - ms latency This in my eyes would point to an internal network issue As the latency occurs i ve been through the Small Business Network - Latency Issue whole rack unplugging each node until the latency dropped The latency only dropped after disconnecting the sbserver from the network I ve scanned all machines for malware but the issue is still occurring I d like a fresh point of view from some of you clever people any ideas or similar experiences you may have had Our IT consultancy has been incredibly uninterested in assisting with this issue Many thanks in advance nbsp

I have a very bizarre networking issue and I m completely Internal outside issue network the to latency getting world stumped I ll first describe the network then the symptoms and then what I have tried so far Network I have a DSL connection coming into a Westell Wirespeed modem The modem is plugged into the WAN port of a Belkin Wireless G MIMO router Port of the Internal network latency issue getting to the outside world router has a cable running down through two apartment floors to a Linksys Internal network latency issue getting to the outside world EZXS W -port workgroup switch into the uplink port There are two computers connected via cat to the switch There is one computer connected via cat to port of the belkin router There are five computers connected via wireless ALL computers can and do pick up an IP address from the router Most of the computers are fairly idle all are spyware and virus free The hardware is all brand new Oh I also have a linksys wireless repeater that is connected to the router wirelessly to boost my signal strength Symptoms The issue I have is that the router intermittently loses connection to the internet yes the router itself It is connected most of the time and when it is the network is ultra slow going to the outside world I get insane ping latency timeouts Everything loads VERY SLOWLY or times out Troubleshooting steps I spent a while on the phone with Verizon my isp and the line test looked good Also when I plugged my laptop directly into the DSL modem disconnecting the rest of the network my speed was what it should be and it did not lose the connection at all This eliminates my ISP as the problem As soon as I plugged the router back into the DSL modem the connection went to hell I made sure that the MTU setting on the router was as suggested by my ISP I have -bit WEP on the wireless though that should not matter and excellent signal strength My UPnP settings do not affect anything and it is disabled at the moment I disabled my router firewall even though I was pretty sure it wouldn t matter --- it didn t I ran wireshark to sniff the wireless traffic and everything looked good i e a few broadcasts from the router here and there a few master browser elections whatever small traffic I had going nothing out of the ordinary I called Belkin to troubleshoot and they just want to replace the router I know this isn t the answer because prior to the belkin router I had a D-Link DI- router that had the same exact issue I have tried connecting the cable going to the switch into a port other than uplink to no avail The port next to uplink is empty I have even eliminated the switch and all computers connected to it which did nothing This is certainly not an easy networking issue so any other experts out there please help Thanks Evan nbsp

As the tittle says I have a new build with a pretty high end machine 6700k with an asus maximus hero VIII board. the issue is that in vent only I have major latency issues. three other machine son the network have no issues with vent connecting to the same server. I am at a loss as to what could be the issue and my google-fu has not been strong enough

One of our Desktop Engineers is running "regsvr32 *.dll /s" on eighty three DLL's that are related to Internet Explorer (IE11). I can post the list if necessary.
My question is: will reregistering the DLL's with regsvr32 weaken the security of IE11 by "undoing" any security fixes that have been put in place with a Microsoft Update?
There is also some concern that registering these DLL's could undo some security settings put in place by Group Policy but I suspect all GPO settings would be put back in place when Group Policy is refreshed.
If you could comment on the security aspect of registering DLL's that is what I am looking for. Many thanks.

A:MSI Z170a Gaming 3 or GTX 960 GAMING 100ME Issue?

7-31-2016 Update

Well no one replied yet to my post but I did some more testing and the result is as follows.

I did some more troubleshooting and cleared the CMOS, swapped monitors, tried another HDMI cable and reinstalled the 960 into the new build for testing but it still did not solve the issue. Still locked at 800X600 with error code 43 (Windows disable the device because of problems) in device manager and I'm concerned about how the card itself boots and lights the RED VGA led on the MSI board. I retested it in that PC that has the 600watt PSU and an Asrock board and while it did work at a higher resolution the card behaves suspiciously during powerup as.

1. Power on All Fans and MSI logo light up.... Monitor is Blue (active)
2. 5 seconds later MSI logo goes off... fans still spinning.....Monitor is Amber (No Signal)
3. 15 seconds later MSI logo comes on......Monitor goes Blue (active)
4. Once Windows loads fans stop spinning. (Normal)

**Note** This is similar to the way it boots in the problem system (no RED led on Asrock board)

So 20 seconds total to initiate a stable signal to me is problematic and this is on the test PC not the one I built BUT I still can't rule out a problem with this MSI motherboard as that RED VGA led still comes on for a few seconds when the GTS 450 is in there (even though it works fine) and I can't find an answer to if that's normal. Sent a "support" request to MSI and their reply was "Try the card in another system and try another card in your problem system" lol. They must not read carefully as this was already covered....hahaha.

So... I need some suggestions besides those I tried and if anyone has a MSI Z170a Gaming 3 board can you please post your startup sequence and let me know if it lights the RED VGA led light on startup?

Hi,
Ive had a Quickbooks Pro 2013 multiuser that was hosted on a workstation that other users would connect to the company file via network share (no issues). The company file was then moved to and hosted on the server (2012 r2). Now when users connect to the company file, quickbooks hangs for couple seconds (wait for program to respond). Any ideas on the cause of this?

Hey everyone On Thursday I received my copy of Windows Home Premium I skipped the Vista bandwagon so I Realtek onboard issue High latency adapter was moving directly from Windows XP Service Pack -bit to Windows Home Premium I opted to install the -bit version of Windows as I had no issues when running the -bit beta As it turns out I seem to have encountered an issue with my network adapter on Windows Using any speed test site such as speedtest net I get an extremely high ping ms I have tested another machine behind my router running Windows XP and there is no problem Also on the speed io website which tests connections per minute I can only get around on Windows whereas I could get on Windows XP with the same hardware Strangely in games like Counter-Strike Source my ping is normal and in the - range on most nearby servers Also when running the ping High latency issue onboard Realtek adapter command from the command prompt most servers return a result lower than ms which is also normal So I don't understand why on speedtest net pingtest net and dslreport's flash speed test I get a ridiculous ping time of ms Web browsing does seem to be slow as well as images take longer to load then they should I'm not sure whether this is a driver issue or what I have tried disabling both my firewall and AV software so they are not at fault I've tried different version of the drivers for my NIC One from the Gigabyte website and two from Realtek's website they released an updated version yesterday My motherboard is High latency issue onboard Realtek adapter a Gigabyte GA-EP -UD R rev I have all of my system specs listed on my profile if anyone needs to know more I'd appreciate any help or ideas from anyone I tried posting this on a different forum and didn't get any responses maybe this one will be different While it's not a huge issue web browsing does seem to be slower than it should because of the increased latency I just can't figure out why it doesn't affect games traceroutes etc Just to make clear The high latency issue has been tested and occurs on the latest Mozilla Firefox Google Chrome and Internet Explorer - although on Google Chrome the latency is around - ms - a little less than Firefox I tried these tests with AV and firewall software disabled as well no effect Also my desktop is connected with a lt ft ethernet cable directly to my router The router is NOT the issue I was having no problems on Windows XP SP -bit Ignore the variation in speedtest results - it's a result of my ISP's PowerBoost technology - my actual bandwidth package is Mbps Mbps Also a wireless Windows XP SP machine gets better connections per minute on speed io - Why is this Ping to yahoo com ping yahoo com Pinging yahoo com with bytes of data Reply from bytes time ms TTL Reply from bytes time ms TTL Reply from bytes time ms TTL Reply from bytes time ms TTL Ping statistics for Packets Sent Received Lost loss Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds Minimum ms Maximum ms Average ms Traceroute to yahoo com Tracing route to yahoo com over a maximum of hops ms lt ms lt ms unknown ms ms ms ms ms ms ms ms ms - - - dia static qwest net ms ms ms jfk-core- inet qwest net ms ms ms jfk-brdr- inet qwest net ms ms ms ms Vlan icore AEQ-Ashburn as net ms ms ms if- - - - core AEQ-Ashburn as net ms ms ms if- - - - core DTX-Dallas as net ms ms ms ix- - core DTX-Dallas as net ms ms ms ae -p msr mud yahoo com ms ms ms te- - fab -a-gdc mud yahoo com ms ms ms UNKNOWN- - - - yahoo com ms ms ms b www vip mud yahoo com Trace complete

A:High latency issue onboard Realtek adapter

I have encountered issues from speed test sites. Such as high ping. It is something I have grown used to. Mainly its just the speed you have to worry about for the most part. You can try to disable ip/v6. you wont need it unless your connected directly to the internet.

A:Audio crackling due to nvlddmkm.sys Nvidia driver latency issue

Have integrated sound card and Lan card ? Happen to add new hardware recently ? So you upgraded originally from another OS and did clean install of Win 10 ? Using HDMI to monitor try disabling HDMI Audio in sound properties or NVIDIA control panel. Updated all other system and hardware devices, like sound, Lan, etc.. ? Try reseating Graphics card and you said you uninstalled the drivers for Video cleanly, try this then reinstall them again http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
What i am not sure of is this issue happened with only the new NVIDIA drivers, new hardware (possible video card or other), assumed happened only now in Windows 10. Could be conflict with another hard or it's drivers or settings on either.

I just recently installed windows 7 x64 professional edition. Love it! Minus one thing. My wireless network adapter is crapping out from it. It appears Windows 7 doesn't like any other previous wireless network adapters that much. I am only getting 36Mb/s and I have HUGE latency when playing games online. I am running Linksys WMP300n. I just bought this thing last year when I got Visa. It worked amazing for Vista, but as as soon as I install 7 it hates me. I looked at the drivers and It wont even recognize a Linksys. The ones listed in the device manager are just generic drivers vista provides the Broadcom 802.11n drivers.

Anybody know of an adapter that works with 7 and or a remedy to this. It seems with the small amount of research I have done so far. LOTS of people are having troubles with wireless network adapters for windows 7.

I'm new to the forum but have a problem that I want make the right decision on. I play Aces High II which is a flight simulation game. It may not be as hard core as Battlefield 3 but they do keep upgrading to high res graphics. My computer is a prebuilt Dell Studio XPS 8000. Intel i7 core 860 processor @ 2.8GHz. Graphics card a Nvidia geforce GTS 240. 8 Mb memory, Windows 7 home premium os. Now that said I am experiencing stutter sometimes while i'm playing. My fps go from 60 which is where it should be to 10 or less. I,m not sure if this is the game card or a lousy connection to the game server as we do get discoed sometimes. The computer is a year and a half old and don't remember experiencing this before that much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not against getting a new card and probably need new power supply.

Hi ,

I work for isp, We are facing issue with one of our client
ISSUE:High LATENCY AND INCONSISTENT CONNECTIVITY TO STATIC IP WHILE PING FROM EXTERNAL NETWORK, WHEN CCTV CONNECTED TO ROUTER AND NO LATENCY WHEN CCTV DISCONNECTED FROM ROUTER.

Setup: Static ip configured on dlink dir 600l , port forwarding done for DVR , Router configured with parental controls on. MTU size is set default 1500bytes. 2 systems connected through Router lan. power supply is given through spike (desktop monitor and cpu , router , cctv camera, 2other)

My suspection: Router getting over load than it can handle (or) due spike power supply to router getting latency (or) is there some thing from CCTV setting.

Kindly help who are familiar with CCTV(DVR) and Latency. Thanks in advance.

A:Latency when connected cctv to router and no latency when cctv disconnected from rout

Run "ipconfig /all" from one of the computers, and get one of the DNS server IP addresses, as long as it's not one of your internal IP addresses (192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x).
Then ping this IP Address with the "-l 1500" parameter to set the packet size. If you get timeouts at 1500 (your MTU), lower this to 1400, and keep lowering by 100 or so if you keep getting time outs, or raise the number if you get successful pings.

Once you narrow the number down to an exact measurement, set your MTU to that number, and you shouldn't have any issues.

If your router supports "Auto" for an MTU setting, that's usually the best option though.

I have been trying to download a new version of McAfee Internet protection suite ... the file is 48M ... my experience has been it downloads about 8 megs, stalls and after some time it begins again at about 2M ( I assume this is some sort of check point) This was repeat the amount downloading before timing out ranged from 5M - 23M. Eventually McAfee stops process. BTW I spent 1 hour on the phone with McAfee but got no relief and I got the feeling I was brushed off in the end.

My question: is there someway to eliminate this timeouts or at least get a Vista error number that will give an indication of what to do.

Thank you ... Bruce Galway

I'm using Windows XP and have a dsl connection. If I take too long typing an e-mail message I get logged out and the message is lost. Same thing happens in Word; if I have to stop in the middle of creating a document and don't return for a few minutes, I get an error msg. and have to close and start over. It's pretty frustrating. Is there a way to change the allotted time on either of these or what?

Lately I've been getting timeouts amd '404 Not found' errors with both Firefox and IE. It's gotten to the point that this actually happens more often than successful accesses. It happens more on Firefox than IE but it occurs often on both. This behavior began all at once but I can't tie it to a particular action on my part. I'm running Windows 7, Firefox 15.0.1 and IE9. I scan often with Spybot and Malwarebytes. I've also downloaded and installed Adaware but the scans show a flash page and then goes away and no scan is performed.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Hi all! I have been scouring the net loooking for some help with a problem our company is having.
We have our own smtp/pop3 server setup in house. We are using Dyndns' mailhop service in order to control spam, and it works! When someone sends our domain an email, it is forwarded to their servers, scanned and then forwarded to our server.

But lately we have been receiving our emails anywhere from one to several hours late. I looked at the headers for a bunch of messages and they are getting from point a to point b in a timely fashion, but from point b to c is the problem.

When I contacted Dyndns' tech support, they stated that their logs show that there were connection timeouts when trying to contact our server.

My question is how to troubleshoot this problem and find the point of failure.

Thanx in advance!

Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.

The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like:

If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL
http://www.dslreports.com/linequality/nil/2357195 <- sample only, yours will obviously be different!
and your IP will be disguised.

Copy/paste that link here.

Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.
DSLReports

Here's also the Line Quality Tests FAQ to help you understand the results. This will answer some questions about the line quality display.

I am using a USB modem in 32-bit Win7. It works fine for browsing etc, ping, nslookup. But tracert reports a timeout for everything but the final hop. It makes no difference if I turn off Windows Firewall.

If I put the modem in a router connected to the PC, then tracert from the PC works fine.

Also, if the modem is plugged into an XP PC then tracert works fine from that PC.

How can I get tracert to work properly on Win7 USB?

A:tracert timeouts on USB modem

I have run a packet-logger to analyze traffic on the USB modem. It shows that tracert is sending out ICMP type-8 records, and that the remote hosts are correctly responding (within the timeout) with ICMP type-11 records, but tracert is reporting on only the final type-0 record received.

I have also checked the content of the type-11 records, and it is consistent with the type-8 record sent out. Indeed, the Win7 tracert has fixed some endian-bugs evident in the XP tracert.

The program "ftrace" shows the same behaviour.

I have tried disabling all firewalls, anti-virus software, running as Admin, and opening up User Access Controls.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
I have a wireless lan setup. Everything work well until I connect (ssh or telnet) from a laptop to PCs on the lan. The laptop is a powerbook g4, get to the lan through airport client. PCs are on the network through ethernet cables connected to the router ports.

The problem is that after a few minutes a successful connection was made, the terminal session would freeze. In such a situation, I have to wait for quite a few minutes before making another connection.

There is no such problems between PCs.

What's wrong?

how long does the session remain active? can you issue a few commands to the remote, like DIR /S *? this should create a large result. I guess the session is being terminated by the remote-end. SSH client will report this fact so try it instead of Telnet. (btw: good admins should disable telnet access for security reasons!).

I really can't figure out whats causing this, I have tried all kinds of things. My computer has alot of trouble staying connected to games or browsing. I am connected directly to my modem. I have tried disabling ipv6, netsh scripts, vista anti lag, swapping cables, nothing. Its the exact same problem and its unshakable.

My pings look like this. I can ping my computer with no timeouts. The request timeouts usually kick me from games or keep pages from loading.

A:Vista Ping Timeouts

The pings don't really tell you much since they only indicate that a response was not received for some, but not why. The web sites could very well be responsible.

What does the ISP say about it?

So this thread is probably going to have a lot of information on it Timeouts Other Network Issues & but please don Timeouts & Other Network Issues t be discouraged I really really need help with some issues I ve been having and if someone could solve this for me that would be amazing So I ve been experiencing timeouts It seems I get timeouts whenever using Timeouts & Other Network Issues some sort of wired connection If I used an ethernet cable connected to my router I would get timeouts in several applications such as Minecraft and Teamspeak If I used Wireless I was fine So after lots of troubleshooting I couldn t find a fix so I ve been using Wireless ever since Lately however my wireless has been unusually slow not for everyone in the house just for me So what I did to solve the issue is I setup a D-Link DIR in my room to act as a Wireless Access Point I now get slightly faster speeds and bar connection rather than the bars I was getting previously Now I thought I wouldn t get these stupid timeout errors when connecting to this Wireless Timeouts & Other Network Issues Access Point turns out I still do On Teamspeak for example I will be talking to people and everything will be completely normal I won t lag or anything and then BOOM I get disconnected As I said no lag no warning I just get disconnected It s almost as though my router is randomly cutting me off So what I thought I d do was replace my primary router BoB Lite with the D-Link DIR and then use Wired connection because I assumed that the BoB Lite was causing the timeout issues Now I can t even connect to anything wired I must have changed a setting when troubleshooting or something But now I can t source internet from my laptop ICS and I can t connect to my original or new router wired The only way I can currently get internet is by using the DIR in my room but I still get timeouts when using applications such as Minecraft and Teamspeak So yeah multiple issues Firstly if I could just solve the timeouts then that would solve everything I could continue connecting to the modem in my room and everything would be fine OR is there a way I could someone reset all my network settings that I may have messed up when troubleshooting As I can no longer connect to any modem with a wired connection not even the DIR which could have solved the problem If anyone could help me out that would be GREATLY appreciated This is a really annoying issue and I ve tried to troubleshoot it myself for ages now but with no luck IF anything in this thread doesn t make sense to you please tell me and I ll gladly explain myself Additional Summarised Information My primary router is a BoB Lite my ISP is iiNet The modem in my room is a D-Link DIR I m using a NetComm N USB Adapter to connect to Wi-Fi I m using Windows Ultimate -bit Thanks very much Innug nbsp

I have Norton Antivirus 2002 and use Microsoft Outlook Express. When I am e mailing a large file Norton's outgoing virus scan usually gets interrupted and sometimes the message never gets sent. Norton Help said the ISP timeout is to blame because it takes a while to send. Does anyone know how to lengthen the timeout on my ISP Earthlink? I am using dialup. I like the outgoing scan because I know my e mails are clean, would like to keep that option on. Thanks

A:Norton and Outlook Exp timeouts

Ah Norton. I would turn off the outgoing scan since you use a dialup connection. If you keep your Norton updated and scan your suspect e-mails' attachments, then your computer will remain clean, hence what you send will be clean. Save yourself the headache.

I have been trying to play a couple of different games Diablo II and AOE lately with the same problem When I start the games they come up fine and then I go to begin a campaign or continue from my last save point etc which generally also starts fine then it happens My Odd issue gaming computer dumps me back to the desktop The game is still running but I have to go click on it to bring it back Then anywhere from mere moments to minutes it happens again I cannot figure out WHAT has happened within the system itself to cause this issue I recently defragged my C drive thoroughly Odd gaming issue something it needed in a bad way but other than that I ve not done anything significant This machine isn t even connected to the internet it s just there for gaming and other entertainment or work MS Office type purposes If anyone has any ideas please post Odd gaming issue them Is there a possible corrupted system file Another thing that happens now when I boot is I have an error regarding the Kill Process function says it quot failed quot and asks me to report it to MS which I can t do on that PC since it is not connected to the Net Those are the only two quot symptoms quot I can offer I m not new to technology by any means but this one really threw me nbsp

A:Odd gaming issue

A second note here:

1. I have updated to the latest video driver for my system (so that's not the issue).

2. It isn't just games. What seems to be happening is the system loses sight of whatever the active window is. Even if I am working on something (non-game related) the active window suddenly becomings inactive and I have to move my mouse over and reclick it to make it active so I can continue my work.

I think that is the core issue, the system is losing sight of the active window. If there is a system file that controls this that I can replace, please let me know. I'd rather not have to re-install my whole darn system.

Hello everyone I have this question about help with please gaming LAN issue having a lan issue while gaming issue with LAN please help playing games I will use two games for example Quake Arena and Unreal Tournament Not exactly new but good for my example There are two machines in the setup Opponents machine E-machines megaherzt cpu megs of RAM Win SE D prophet XT mb Kyro video card Onboard sound this emachines is a prebuilt machine not sure of the generic mobo type My system AMD gig athlon cpu ASUS A V Socket A mobo Radeon mb vid card Turtle Beach Santa Cruz PCI sound card megs of RAM Win SE The network is on a port hub I know hubs are not as fast as switches but it should be fast enough for gaming Both computers have Linksys NIC cards Here is the issue I use my computer as the server and he connects to my game no dedicated servers just using mine and his to play When I play Quake Arena or Unreal Tournament my human opponent on my computer moves kinda choppy It isnt the smooth movement like I see the bots move at It makes it a little bit harder to hit my opponent Now the ping for Quake arena fluctates to - ping and Unreal Tournament - ping Now these are very low pings Why is my opponent moving kinda choppy The movement isnt fluid as the bots are Why is this Is it the ping lag Or is it the fact that my opponent has a slower machine and it shows its performance compared to mine in the game hence its more choppy because he cant move as well as mine performance isnt up to par I dont understand it to be the lag ping because I dont remember seeing people move kinda choppy like that at other LAN parties So can someone who has played LAN before and knows how the movement of your human opponents is supposed to look in a LAN game help me Any input is greatly appreciated nbsp

A:gaming issue with LAN please help

Shouldn't be any lag with two machines playing on a lan with a listen server.

add this command to your quake3 shortcut to allocatte more memory for quake3

+com_hunkMegs 256

your shortcut will look something like this then except I have mine load my default config at the end and your drive letter is probably different.
"H:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe" +com_hunkMegs 256 + exec brianF.cfg
Remember your machine is doing a dual role, turn your graphics down some, don't run 32bit.
Close everything else running in the background.

Make sure both machines are set to cable/dsl in the network setup to improve packet transmission on lan

I play against my son a lot, no lag, runs just great no matter if using hub, switch, or router, have used all

A few questions:

1. In some gaming computers, there are 3 video cards ( such as in Force Recon ). Is it overkill or good thing ?

2. Within the next 5 years, is Vista or XP a better gaming windows ?

3. core 2 duo or core 2 quad core ?

4. Is screen size over 21.5 " overkill ?

5. Is resolution 1920x1080 overkill ?

I'm sure this wil be simple to answer, but I need confirmation before purchasing something I may not need.

Anyway, I have two computers networked through a Netgear 10/100 802.11b wireless router (the computers are currently hard-wired, though). I realize that despite having gigabit NICs on the pcs, I'm bottlenecked at 100mbps by the router. My question is whether this is the culprit in gaming lag issues we seem to have with games that work just fine played on single player. I'm well updated so far as drivers go and the Netgear firmware, too.

If the router is the bottleneck for gaming then I'm resolved to buy a gigabit router; however, with both pcs having dual gigabit NICs, can I simply run a cable from the extra NIC on one to the extra on the other and then have a gigabit LAN for gaming?

Thanks for any help and happy new year.

Hi
I'm running on a t1 connection behind a dell powerconnect 2324 switch
for some reason all the computers on my network get random timeouts and we need to refresh like 20 times before we can get to a webpage.
Any ideas?
Thanks

A:random timeouts, very annoyed very lost

If all the computers have the problem, it sounds like the switch or the T1 service.

I am left to believe that this is a problem on my laptop as my other devices (iphones, ipods, etc) have no problem with the internet, this is on a wireless signal and i'm in the same room as the modem/router. The internet runs fast when it isn't timing out its like it just cycles through periods of great connectivity to periods of unstable connectivity relatively fast. I suspected that I may have been botted and that was effecting my bandwidth as this is a similar symptom when downloading large files(browser times out alot). Here is my HijackThis log(not sure whether to copy-n-paste or attach so I'll just attach for good measure, any help would be appreciated, thank you.

My internet is fast BUT at random moments my evey 15min comcast. Timeouts on connection seems to go to mbps for like a second but this can prove to be disruptive while watching movies on-line gaming MSN and etc It would cause the movie to freeze and force it to rebuffer it would disconnect me from on-line Timeouts evey 15min on comcast. games and it would sign me off MSN This problem can happen once every mins or once every hours It is very random I ve called contacted techs numerous times but they have failed to discover the problem i m pretty sure it s nothing wrong with my comps one is brand new i ve done several virus scans and swapped the ethernet between my laptop and desktop but both have the same problem it is very recent but quite frequent and it isn t very noticable during casual browsing but frusterating when doing any online gaming I play a variety of games so i dont think its something wrong with the servers i try to recycle my packets too but that doesnt help i had a ping test with bytes up to to google x back to back and heres the results Also If i ping a website and just let it run I can clearly see the timeouts happening when they do And its always in a row when it happens first scan pings ok scan two sent recieved time out lost loss rate min time ms max time ms avg time ms avg ttl scan three sent recieved time out lost loss rate min time ms max time ms avg time ms avg ttl the time outs are spread out and quite random one would be at ping and another ping etc the time outs also are fairly subtle but very annoying and seem to intesify or stack more during gameplay never used to happen at all but as time progresses it just keeps getting worse i ve talked to a few comcast reps and they all seem to be just stabbing in the dark and not sure of the problem One of them just blamed quot blizzard quot and said game servers are to blame also i did a cmd test to www yahoo com and traced it into notepad and heres the results Tracing route to www yahoo com over a maximum of hops Request timed out Request timed out ms ms ge- - -ur dalecity va bad comcast net ms ms ms te- - -ur lakeridge va bad comcast net ms ms ms te- - -ur lakeridge va bad comcast net ms ms ms te- - -ar capitolhghts md bad comcast net ms ms ms te- - -ar plainfield nj panjde comcast net ms ms ms ms ms ms xe- - - edge Washington Level net ms ms ms ae- - car Washington Level net EDIT I would also like to add I am a comcast technician If I were called in for a service call on this issue I would think the person is lying or something is wrong in their software The modem has ideal signals both up and down stream All of the lines are in perfect condition and I have checked every connection in the system from the tap to the modem and they are all still in perfect shape I installed the lines myself and used solid copper rg so I know for sure my lines are way better then whats needed to run comcast internet So its either a issue with my modem which is getting old or its an issue somewhere in my software I recently reformatted my harddrive So something may have gone wrong in the install nbsp

A:Frequent connection timeouts, is my log normal?

It seems that the problem is getting much more annoying right now. The timeout happens every 5 minutes or so now...

Good day to you In server dns issue/or gaming Possible the last few weeks the house hold has been losing wireless connections while wired connections stay up and running I suspect its my nephew who insists on leaving the router open as in no security - no mac filtering - no Possible dns issue/or gaming server wep - wpsk etc since he allows gamers to access his computer used as a server Of course nephew is connected to via wired ethernet and we are all wireless We all seem to lose connections at the same time I suspect the routers limited RAM and hard mem firmware control flags dont allow for collisions and exceed-bandwidth usage from incoming gaming I also suspect the open access to wireless connection doesnt have anything to do with it either since the dhcp client table never shows any unknown wireless connections I have been looking through the event viewer to find clues of which one is wpad hsd co comcast net listed as the DNS in a warning under a DNS Client Event I found a paper written several years ago concerning DNS manipulation and wpad xxxanthything generally means an undefined DNS if you ipconfig all you can see the dns is correct except for the wpad portion wpad is never there in that particular way of looking at the DNS it only shows in the event viewer There are affected computers when this happens except nephews two towers My first question is can the use of Torrent clients cause this sort of thing or is it more likely traffic from gaming kicking us off Ive seen some of his configs in the router and he has his twin towers listed as priority of anything else We had a discussion about that torrent thing and he seemed to think it was the torrent downloads However two defenses to that argument are the torrent has never reached more than MB s dn and KB s up peak and we have a MB s service Secondly as a precaution all torrents have been stopped and the torrent apps are closed yet we all still get bumped off the router except for his wired connection I will now place the log suggested Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version OS Version Microsoft Windows Ultimate Service Pack bit Processor Intel R Core TM Duo CPU P GHz Intel Family Model Stepping Processor Count RAM Mb Graphics Card Mobile Intel R Series Express Chipset Family Mb Hard Drives C Total - MB Free - MB Motherboard Sony Corporation VAIO Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Updated and Enabled Thank you for your direction and your efforts nbsp

I think this is a video card issue, but starting yesterday I can't really play any games. When I load them up, they kind of freak out and these lines sort of flash in and out and the graphics are heavily distorted. How can I fix this?

Thanks
