I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just bought a working Panasonic CF25 ToughBook at a yardsale for $20!!! The battery is no good but it works fine with the AC adaptor, it has win98 installed, the bad thing is it only has a 800mb harddrive in it and I want to use it to store and review Digital pictures when I go on trips, what kind of harddrive will fit this laptop and is there a size limit? I would gladly spend $100 on a new drive if I knew what would fit, and does anyone know where I might find a good battery for it cheap, a new one is over $125 on E-bay and I don't feel good about buying a use one there? And do laptops need a special version of windows or will any off the shelf version work? Thanks

I'm working on a Panasonic toughbook CF-27 with xp sp3, 256 ram, no wireless card or usb. I had this laptop for over 10 years and had it in storage for the past 8 due to computer problems but want to put it back in use again. My question is am I able to upgrade the memory anymore? find a wireless card(if I'm able to what information do i need to find one)? and how do I go about getting usb ports for it if I'm able too?

This is fixable. You may need to open up the Laptop

Sometimes manufacturers post bios default password on there site.

Use the techguy utility to give us the specifications. From what I've been able to garner from Google and using the search Toughbook CF-19 , it should be able to support Windows 7 and should have had it as default, not the tablet version.
We need more details that the utility will reveal.

My brother has a Panasonic Toughbook CF-27 laptop. He put a BIOS password on it a long time ago. He now needs to get in the BIOS, but forgot the password. He's tried everything he could think of and nothing works. I know on PC's you can change some jumpter settings or take out the lithium ion battery to remove the password. Is there an easy way to get rid of the password on this laptop? I searched the Panasonic site, but didn't find anything helpfull. Will removing the motherboard battery on the laptop do the same? If so, doe anyone know where it's located? Is it easy to get to or deep down in the system?

Any help is appreciated.

A:Panasonic CF-27 Toughbook BIOS password...

It does just that it takes a bit longer.... I mean need to take the battery out for about 3 -4 days to drain it completly. Otherwise ( since i'm not quite famialiar with that particual model ) look inside the laptop for a "CLS CMOS" or something close to that , which will clear the BIOS and subsequently the password.
By the way what BIOS does the laptop has? Award , AMI , Phoenix....

If someone is still having issues with wireless not turning on as mentioned here :

Do the following:

Go into BIOS > Advanced > and set the "Wireless Switch" option to DISABLED.

Also, if you need, you can uninstall the Panasonic Wireless Switch software after you have disabled the BIOS option as mentioned above.

This will fix the wireless not working or unable to turn on the wireless issues.

Well I guess it wasn't tough enough!

Unless there is something proprietary on the Drive I do not see why you would. To be safe check either with Toshiba, or the HD vendor of choice to see if the new drive you select is compatible.

I have a Panasonic Toughbook running Windows 2000.
I used to be able to run wireless PCMCIA adapters and it worked.

Now when I insert both a Netgear and D-link PCMCIA card the entire system freezes.(after installing the drivers) I pull the card out and the system resumes. Also, the lights on the PCMCIA flash and do what they are suppposed to do.

I can use my D-link wired PCMCIA adapter.

So - it is not the PCMCIA slot - it is not the cards - they both work on other computers. It must be 2000.

Anyone have nay thoughts on what i can try next?

If you do, next time don't and see =over a period of several days if it starts ok.

I recently purchased a Del Latitude 7202 Toughbook.
At same time purchased 12V power adapter.
The adapter was shipped separately. SKU 469-4546. The power plug did not fit computer.
It is too fat. Spent 4 hours with tech support and they told me the wrong part was shipped.
They said they would send a replacement. 10 days later I get a package with an HDMI cable in it.
Call support back, was told they would just issue me a credit and I can purchase one online.
I was told I needed part. 450-AAYR. Web page for that part lists the 7202 as compatible.
It arrived yesterday. Still doesn't fit. I am returning it as well.
What is required to get the correct part?

I wanted to ask a question of how to look for an upgrade fro ram on a panasonic tough book Cf-25. I would like to upgrade to windows XP but from what I understand the minimum requirements are at least 128megs of ram. I have spent a couple of hours on search engines trying to find a proper upgrade. They talk about a 64x1 is that the best I can do? I am not the literate on this topic I work as a sous chef in a hotel so I hope I'm not stating the obvious. A:Panasonic CF-25

If I recall, the CF 25 uses a 133 MHz pentium 1.

If that is correct, then thats a long way below the minimum CPU specs required (to be useable at all it needs to be 450 MHz, even though Microsoft claim it will run on a 300 MHz chip) for XP.

Thats not going to be upgradeable, so don't get too hopeful about running XP.

Hi, everyone - nice to be back..............
I have one or two problems with my Panasonic camcorder on my new HP laptop operating on Windows 7.

I was able to use either the installed movie maker on my old XP computer or the Panasonic software supplied on disc with the camcorder.

I'm not very happy with the Windows 7 movie maker replacement, nor the Roxio software which is installed and which keeps cutting itself off for no apparent reason about 5 minutes into the download.

But most important is the reaction to my attempts to re-install my Panasonic software disc. I keep getting an error message, which I neither understand nor do I have any idea what to do with it. I can't get the attached screenshot to open but the error message reads:-
! Error executing file.
The requested operation requires elevation

It could be interference, but its more likely that you are trying to use a screen resolution or refresh rate that isn't fully supported by your flat panel.
You will need to read its manual and adjust your resolution according to what it says.

The fountain was moving, the kids were moving and the camera was moving-all in a night shot that requires the lense to remain open for considerable time, and also the backlighting places everyone in shadow. Worst of all conditions. I can think of no way to get that shot unless the fountain is taken seperatly and the kids are superimposed from a seperate shot taken in daytime.

Hi all. I just aquired a Panasonic Toughbook model cf-37. It is older but the price was right (free) so I jumped on it. It has a DVD drive on it and I am unsure how to use it. the DVD is model # cf-vdd372.

The manual was talking about requiring some kind of card to play dvds? I am totally stupid when it comes to things like this, so if anyone would, please walk me through getting this thing hooked up.

Rob Oneal

A:Panasonic Laptop DVD

Can you clarify exactly what type of card your manual speaks of - this is not normally the case.
Have you tried watching a DVD on it yet? I'm assuming that the previous owner plugged the drive in and used it at some point? Generally, if a computer comes with a DVD Rom drive then it generally has some software enabling the viewing of DVD's.
The drive should work anyway with DVD's that have content other than DVD video, (data, pics, music etc. - DVD's aren't only about films) But to watch DVD films then you would normally require some software to view them with or a standalone codec (another type of software) to enable already installed media players (windows media player for example) to play the films.

I didnt even know touch screen cameras were avalible. I would suggest you go try it out in a store setting. If it is really compact I can see big fingers being an issues- as they can be with smartphone keyboards. Otherwise at this point I wouldn't sink much money into a digital camera seeing they are dirt cheap these days. the next technology is the consumer friend dSLRs which are more compact than a traditional SLR. but they have interchangeable lenses. I'd be looking for them to drop in the next couple years.

SD cards and Panasonic Plasma

Just bought a panasonic plasma (TH-42PZ80U) with an SD card slot and am having a problem with the SD card.

1) The Plasma allows you to view photos on screen, off the SD card. I use a Sony Cybershot as a camera (with a memory stick PRO duo card), so after downloading to my computer, I then download images onto a SD card. The Plasma wont display them?? It says file not available. I am saving the pictures as a jpeg file without modifing them on the computer. I know the pictures are on the SD card because I can open them from the card on the computer. The SD card is a standard 2MB san disk card.

A:how to connect laptop to Panasonic

i am not sure i undrestand what cable you are using to connect the laptop to the TV?

your laptop has VGA, you should be able to use that. it might also have an s-video out which you can also use.
the TV has HDMI, which you probably will not be able to use. check if it has VGA and use that, if it does not, it probably has a DVI port, which should work fine. you can get a VGA-DVI cable or a VGA cable with a DVI adapter.
you can google these ports to see what they look like.

hope this helps

Hello Elizabeth, Welcome to TSF!

There are a couple of ways that might help you with this issue.

Method One: Remove the registry entry

Warning: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system.

Please Note: If you had installed multiple CD-writing software products on your computer, you need to uninstall the software products before you remove the registry keys.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.

3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

4. On the File menu, click Export.

5. In the File name box, type savedkey, and then click Save.

6. Click the REG_MULTI_SZ data type UpperFilters, and then click Delete on the Edit menu. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

Note: If this data type is missing, go to Method 2.

7. Click the REG_MULTI_SZ data type LowerFilters, and then click Delete on the Edit menu. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

8. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Method 2: Replace the existing driver

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. If Control Panel is in Category view, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.

If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System.

3. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

4. Click the drive with the question mark (?) next to it.

5. On the Action menu, click Uninstall. When you are prompted to confirm the removal, click OK.

6. Repeat steps 4 through 5 for any other drives with question marks.

7. On the Action Menu, click Scan for hardware changes.

Close all windows and reboot the computer.

Please give these two methods a try and post back with the results.

Kind Regards,

Hi, is anyone able to help?

I have a problem with connecting Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD70 to PC with Windows 7 and graphic card MSI Nvidia Gforce GTX560 TI.

I have tried using Mini HDMI to HDMI cable, and also DFI to HDMI, but none of them work. I have only one HDMI socket in the TV. And on the card there is only mini HDMI and two DFI sockets.

In Nvidia Contro Panel there is an option to find the second screen, but it does not detect it. I have also tried to find it in Screen Resolution options, but it also does not see it.

I have had this TV connected in the past, but since upgrading to Win 7 (and also buying a new pc) I have been unable to do it.

I have also all the recent drivers for the graphic card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Panasonic lumix DMC-FZ18 and I can not increase shutter speed. It stops up to 8 in the mode is "S" and "A" (shutter & Aperture) and up to 60 in the mode "M" (Manual) Previously it was not like that. Now I'm unable to increase my shutter speed. Another problem is time delay in taking pictures it's showing seconds before the shutter fires. Previously it was not like that. Kindly help me.

Thanks in advance,

A:Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18

I’m not sure what you might have been doing before, but the specs for the camera show that in shutter and aperture priority it is limited to 8 seconds and in full manual it is 60 seconds: It appears to be working properly.

Long zoom shots with difficult contrast will cause most non-DSLR cameras to hunt for focus. On a bright day shooting a normal scene at wide angle, if it is taking several seconds to focus there is something wrong and you might contact Panasonic for repairs. But if it is just happening sometimes and especially at zoom it is probably normal.

Hi, everyone! Using Windows XP here with a Panasonic KX-P1124 and have a strange issue: we're printing on a continuous stencil paper (for part marking) and every time the label is done printing, the printer feeds about 5 labels through. We have to rip off our label, then move the paper down, then reload. Takes awhile to work through if you are printing more than one label. I know this is an old printer but it works well and we need the stencils. Does anyone have the same issue or knows of a fix? We've tried to change the form feed to "not available" but it doesn't work. Thanks in advance!

A:Panasonic Lumix problem.

I think that is the same model as mine. There is a mode that you can turn on and off to use the built in viewfinder only. If that is turned on then you can't see anything on the crystal display and it will appear that your camera is not working. It's a small button above the crystal display that you just press and your camera should work normally.

What is the make and model # of your DVD burner? Is it a Double Layer (DVD9) burner? What are the brands of blanks? What is the burn speed you are using to burn DVD's? Are the blanks DVD+R, DVD-R or DVD-RW?
Do not use generic blanks. Use only named brand blanks. (Phillips, Sony, TDK etc) I have most luck with -R blanks and not the +R discs. -+RW discs are harder to work with because they have to be formatted before they can be used and they need to be finalized before they can be ejected. You should burn at the slowest speed for your media. Burning at too fast of a speed will fail the burn or make it so it cannot be played without skipping.

Just bought a panasonic plasma with an SD card slot.

2 Problems;

1) I can record programmes on to the card, but when I put the card in my Sony Vaio they won't play!

2) Similarly, the Plasma allows you to view photos on screen, off the SD card. I use a Sony T9 as a camera, so after downloading to my computer, I then download images onto a SD card. The Plasma wont display them?? The TV instruction says a folder DCIM will automatically be created for the photos. Could it be that I have managed to get images onto the card, but not in the right place. How do I create a DCIM folder on the card??

Any help would be appreciated

A:SD cards and Panasonic Plasma

1) What format are the files in? It might that its in a propriety format, or you dont have the right video codecs on your Sony Vaio.

2) You probably just need to create a folder on the SD card much like creating a folder on your harddrive. and have this named DCIM

The model number of the panasonic would be handy if you have more questions.

I have a friend with a toughbook laptop and we have taken it apart to the core to find that the cpu is a standard 2.8v socket 7 p166mmx pentium cpu. we cannot find jumpers anywhere and wonder if there is any way to upgrade this chip to a 2.8v p233mmx or to one of these low volt socket 7 p266mmx cpus.

We would like to put in a k6-2 but see no way of configuring the chip. These units came stock with 100-166mhz pentium laptop and standard cpus so there must have been a way of "jumpering" them to run each chip

Any thoughts?

A:Panasonic CF-25 notebook cpu upgrade

Hmm, we just installed a pentium MMX 200mhz cpu and it works great but only at 166mhz like the old cpu.

There must be a way of reconfiguring the board with different multipliers as the laptop came with anything from a p100 to a p150. but the bios has no options for this and the motherboard itself does not have jumpers to change.

Any ideas?
