Laptop keeps asking for password

Q: Laptop keeps asking for password

My laptop keeps asking me for my facetime, icloud and messages password. I've entered the password but it keeps popping up. Even if I enter the wrong password it accepts it and asks me again in about 30 seconds. I have a Macbook Air but I don't know what system it is though. What can I do to stop this?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,My stupid laptop put a password up on its own which is a bios password. As this is not frustrating enough, the manufacturer charges me tons to get rid of it. How ****** ridiculous is this ??Anyhow, now I am here with the problem. This is bothering me so much. I have been busy with this for hours, days and weeks trying to fix this. I couldn't find a schematic of my laptop but now I finally do. The laptop is a toshiba c55-100-1dc. I am a complete amateur on this field, I only used this laptop till now I never opened one before. As I read, I need to connect 2 pins on the motherboard to set this stupid behavior right. Which one is this?Thank you.

A:Laptop set a password on its own!

Many mere want to help your with you computer problem.Password reset can be a difficult job. Let me the past this for him has helped many users with password problems. But since then some new issues have arisen. Often times portable computers are stolen and then the thief wishes to remove any password protection so that he can sell it on the black market. Manufacturers  are aware of this practice and has now adopted a procedure so anyone who wants to help a lost user shall present to the user a series of questions and make some suggestions so as to discourage dishonest people from abuse of this form. Please  understand why this is needed.Another issue is that the manufacturers have made it more difficult to change any password on computers to improve the security.  Now to recover the password the user must go to the account that he has established with the vendor or the manufacturer and request instructions as to how to reset the password. This is no longer simply a matter of shorting to wires together on the computer motherboard. Nor is it sufficient to just remove the CMOS cell and hope the password will disappear. At the present time passwords are burnt into flash memory and become a permanent part of the computer until it is reset by the authorized user of the computer. To help you out, here are some questions we have to ask.First of all, are you the original owner of this computer and did you register at your computer with the manufacture?Second, did you keep the user manual and instructions you received with the computer? If so, did you read the instructions about how to set the password and how to reset it is needed?Third item. Your comment about the password was reset by someone else does not make sense. Do you let other people use your computer? Possibly you share a military with other people and somebody else got access to your computer and decided to pull a prank on you. Is that possible? That is a prank sometimes popular in college dorms, if the user has not set the password to his account, anybody else can come along and put a password in. That is one of the reasons you should put a password in yourself as soon as you get a new computer. Even if the password is something very simple, like the name of your cat. Also, if this is a laptop computer it may be more difficult to change the password by hardware only. Laptop computers are a popular target for the criminal community and there is been special effort made by the manufacturers to make it more difficult to steal and resell a laptop computer. Please provide some information about the model number of the computer and about what time you bought it and also some information about where you bought the computer. It is very important to know the make and model number of the computer before we can help you anymore. Please reply.,158324.0.html

I have a friend who has a 14 year old kid whom they believe is engaged in some devious behavior. They have asked me if it would be possible to get into, at least, a guest account on the laptop. They purchased the laptop, but the kid set the password and she cannot get in. Are there any work arounds, in the bios possibly, to be able to get around the password? They actually offered me a decent fee if I was able to even get them able to log on as gues, but I assusme you need to actually get in first, to set up another user account.

I had my HP laptop set to start with a passcode.
This morning my number code didn't let me enter. I didn't change it, but somehow it required me to login with my full password today.
How careful do I have to be in resetting my laptop to a code number.
I fear that I will never be able to enter after changes are made.

A password stops people logging into the machine (at least to some extent)

what windows version are you running ?
if you have used a MS account - then you can change passwords using the MS website and change the password

If a local account on the PC only - then you should make a password recovery disk/usb

but you can set the machine to have no password and no code

Reset the Microsoft connected account password HP recommends using a Microsoft connected account (MSA) to log in to Windows. With a Microsoft connected account you log into Windows using your email address and the password can be reset using a different device at any time. You do not need a Microsoft or Hotmail email address to set up a connected account. Any email address will work. To reset your password for an MSA account follow these steps:Open an Internet browser and navigate to the Microsoft Reset your password Web page: I forgot my password, and then click Reset your password.Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password. When the password is reset, you will be able to use your Microsoft account with the new password to sign in to Windows 10 and Windows 8. If you do not have a password reset disk and can?t remember your password, you will be directed by HP support to perform a full recovery to original factory conditions and will lose any data that was not backed up to an external location. Create a password reset disk To complete these steps, you'll need removable media (a USB flash drive).Insert your removable media.Open User Accounts by clicking theStart button, clicking Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety, and then clicking User Accounts. In the left pane, clickCreate a password reset disk, and then follow the instructions. Make sure you store the password reset disk in a safe place.Reset your password using the password reset disk If you enter the wrong password when you attempt to log on, Windows displays a message that the password is incorrect.Click OK to close the message.Click Reset password, and then insert your password reset disk or USB flash drive.Follow the steps in the Password Reset wizard to create a new password.Log on with the new password. If you forget your password again, you can use the same password reset disk. Some time ago I got fed up with the clowns at Microsoft thinking their latest update was more important than whatever I happened to be doing and destroying the work I was doing so they could load their rubbish. I set the system to ask me before doing an update. Well it doesn't bother to do that and now very rarely it does load an update without authority. Could it be that my system is now way out of date?

Is there a customer focused operating system that I could use instead?

A:Laptop stopped asking for password

Every OS is customer focused. Microsoft is for non-Mac machines and getting things done. Linux is more powerful but requires more techy-ness to use.

Maybe try Mac OSX.

But there's nothing wrong with Windows. Sounds like you have a decent amount of problems.

You can open the case and pull out the battery, but that will be hard on a laptop.
KILLCMOS should be able to reset it via software. Your A/V might detect it as a virus because of the way it accesses the BIOS, but it is completely safe.

Hi, If you normally sign-on with an email and password, see if you can reset the password via another PC from the Microsoft page on the following link. Otherwise, there is a general policy on the Forum not to provide methods to bypass Windows log-on passwords, however a local computer shop would be able to do this for you. Another option, if all your personal data etc is backed-up, would be to reset the notebook to its 'Factory Condition' and then set it up from the beginning ? if you don?t have your Recovery Media, the notebook will have shipped with a Recovery Partition which can be accessed at boot - ie shutdown the notebook, then start tapping away at f11 as soon as you power on. A full guide on this can be found on the following link. Regards, DP-K

A:laptop bios password

Have you tried to get into BIOS (using the BIOS key?). If you can get into bios then there is no bios password, you may have a boot password or hard drive password. There may be a built-in backup password that may be able to override that password. Sometimes removing the battery doesn't always work as the password can be stored in flash memory in which case it needs no power to rememberit. Have you looked for a CLR_CMOS jumper on the board before you put it back togeather? This will reset the bios to default. You must jump those prongs then turn the laptop to clear.

I would first look for a default password, then try getting into bios using the bios key and then finally open it up. Laptop is useless without a password.

So, I have a relative who quite often gives me the old laptops of his work colleagues after he has refurbished them. When he gives me these laptops he puts a very simple password that clever older me has left the same as when hes given them to me.

Now I have a old laptop that i have recently managed to get working, it has important documents that I desperately need, but stupid me from a few years ago changed the password on it and now I can't access said important documents.

I never created a password reset disk and I put a stupid cryptic hint because I thought I was being clever, I just want to know if there is anyway I can access the computer without resetting everything and losing stuff?

It's a HP Compaq 6710b running Windows 7 Ultimate x32bit

I'm the opposite of a tech expert, please help me!

I am almost 100% certain you can use the same Windows ID for as many computers as you want to. In fact I think there may be benefits to it. Especially if you are using cloud. And you don't need to sign out of one to use the other.

Is there a program where it makes it hard for someone to turn on your laptop without knowing the password?

I also have a lot of documents in my laptop that are pretty important. Of course each one is accessible by just clicking on it. Does anyone have advice on how to password protect certain documents/videos/pictures etc? I of course don't need to password protect every single document/video/picture.
