I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, has anyone got anything to say about this new processor? I'm looking into an all in one PC and all that I'm looking at have the T series processor. I know it consumes less power....

Okay. So I've discovered that my CPU is actually an Intel Celeron MMX compatible processor running at 366MHz.

Now this processor the equivalent (albeit cheaper) of a Pentium II processor? If so, am I okay to purchase software (ie games) which are written for Pentium II processors running at the same speed?

Thanks to all for their assistance and patience!!

If I put this processor in a 800/530 MHz FSB mboard, will there be a data slowdown or loss (the processor has a 400 MHz FSB.) Or will this be like memory and revert to the slower and just operate as 400 MHz?

A:Solved: Intel Celeron 2.7 GHz processor

No, processors are not like memory. You have to look at the board specifications to see what procesors are supported by a particular board. What processors are supported by a particular board are dependent on three board components, i.e. the chipset, the BIOS and of course the processor.

The 2 machines I primarily use are pretty old socket 478 machines. One machine has an Intel D875PBZ board with an 875P chipset which will only support specific Pentium 4 Extreme Edition and Pentium 4 processors with a 800MHZ or 533MHz FSB. The other has an Intel D865PERL board with an 865PE chipset that will only support specific Extreme Edition Pentium 4 processors, Pentium 4 Processors, Celeron D processors and Celeron Processors with an 800 MHZ, 533 MHz. and 400 MHz. FSB.

You need to check the manufacturers specifications for your specific board to see what processors are, OR are not supported by that board. Intel states for each board the following statement; "Use of unsupported processors may result in improper operation, damage to the desktop board or processor, or reduced product life."

You can install the Celeron 2.7GHz. processor and it may run, however if it does run you still have the risk of damage to the processor and/or board unless that processor is specifically supported.

I have an old computer with following configuration.

Intel Celeron Processor 501 Mhz with 192 MB of RAM

I recently loaded Windows XP 2002 Home Edition with SP3 onto this system. The computer after that is very slow and hangs.

The system is basically used only for internet surfing and checking webmails.

Do I have to upgrade the system to P IV or will upgrading the RAM to 1 GB solve the problem ?

A:Will Windows XP run with Intel Celeron processor

It's better to upgrade in P IV because you will face this kind of problem time to time when browsing the internet. make sure to have a ram of 512 MB or more and when using internet do install a good antivirus software to make your pc fast and virus free.

My daughter is looking at buying a laptop. The two under consideration, HP and Lenovo, are similar in specs, the main difference being the HP has an AMD A8 and the Lenovo has a Pentium. I thought that the A8 is a much more powerful processor than the Pentium, but surprisingly they are about the same price so I am wondering if I am missing something here. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

I am looking for a Pentium III, 1.0 GHz, socket 370, 133 MHz FSB, Coppermine FC-PGA, for my old computer. I would prefer the retail version which includes heat sink and fan. A search through the Internet brings up several places selling the OEM version only --most of them used and/or refurbished.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a site that still sells the retail version? I would prefer a new chip but, if the seller is trustworthy, I would also consider a used one. As I said before, I would also need heat sink and fan.

I reside in the USA, so I am looking for a supplier in the USA or Canada.

A:Solved: Intel Celeron(R) M Processor running at 1.40ghz

The maximum RAM a system can use is determined by several factors, but the CPU is rarely the limiting factor and not how to determine the maximum amount of RAM for a system. Since this is a laptop you need to see how much the laptop supports based on motherboard(so chipset and number of slots), and by the operating system, 32 bit(4GB but only about 3GB usable) or 64 bit and the version, and also by the version ie. Windows 7 Starter has a 2GB limit, Home Basic has a 8GB limit for 64-bit or 4GB for 32-bit), or Home, or Professional. The processor does have a maximum amount of memory it can address but its well beyond what the other limitations are. Post or look up the exact model number of the laptop or use a memory configurator like the one at the site to see how much RAM the hardware will take and then check the

A:What processor can I upgrade to from an Intel Pentium M?

"I would really like to be able to update/upgrade my processor"...

Why? Upgrading the CPU in a laptop never gives much gain in performance. You are limited by the 533MHz data bus. You can increase the system Ram to the max allowed (you may have the max memory installed already) and install a bigger capacity hard drive. Doing this will give you a good increase in performance, much more than just changing the CPU

A:Recommend Desktop Board for Intel« Pentium« Processor E5200

Hello avishnashrawat mate that is a fairly old CPU being a 775 socket and you will be looking at getting a used board unless you find something local new which I am doubting very much. Now I can only find the specs for the CPU and I cannot find anything of any use except it does support 64bit stuff but I cannot make out or see what memory is supported so.

Sorry but if it were me and I had this processor that is just what I would have to do. Now there are some good 1150 socket boards at a reasonable price out here at around $88 for the ASUS B85M-F Motherboard, and coupled with say a Pentium such as the Intel Pentium G3240 ($79) or Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition G3258 ($89) or even a Intel Celeron G1840 at $59 then you would have an up to date board and processor albeit they are quite basic but I would suggest they are superior to the CPU you have now. Plus you then just need the other components to suit ie RAM.

Now I understand you might be tied to a budget but truly I think you would be better off doing that than throwing good money after bad, because using used components is like playing Russian roulette - you just would not know what you are getting.

Anyway perhaps things might turn out and you find something that you are asking after - good luck

It is a little normal that during the process of updating the drivers, it does disconnect the devices plugged onto ports, to swap drivers and write the files in order the new drivers to work. It does remap the devices.

It is always better to uninstall previous USB 3.0 drivers and use a usb 2.0 port to control temporarily another mouse to finish the process and the reboot required. Could be Intel xHci or AsMedia XHci ones...same same.

If your motherboard properly supports the Pentium 4 & if you can OC it to speeds close to 3.0GHz, it should be much better than the Celeron. It all depends on the Pentium 4 though, mostly which core it is based on (Northwood, Prescott, etc.).

Can a Pentium 4 be used on a motherboard with a celeron Processor?
I have a computer with a Celeron Processor in it. Can a Pentium 4 replace
the celeron? At this time I don't have the model number of the board with
out taking the computer apart and I don't want to do that at this time.
I think mother boards have socket numbers for different processors. Is that
a way to tell which board will accept a piticular processor. Does the internet
have a chart for that?

A:Pentium 4 2.4GHz or Intel Celeron D 330

They are both so comparable in performance, there would be little difference in using either of them.

I have a similar situation with a Celeron D 3.2 (LGA775) system and a P4 2.8 CPU that I could use. After looking up the benchmarks, I found that it was a flip flop as to which one out performed the other. It boiled down to only gaining performance when processing certain things. Therefor it was not even worth considering the CPU switch.

The processor it is using is Intel Celeron 320.... Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz. I would like to upgrade to a Pentium 4 processor. Is it worth it? And aside from "Socket 478" is there anything else that needs to be taken into account for compatability if I were to upgrade?
I am also upgrading the RAM. I have used the scanner on to find which RAM is compatable. Will upgrading the processor to a Pentium 4 make any difference to the compatability of the RAM? Thanks.

A:Solved: Upgrading Intel Celeron to Pentium 4? Compatability questions

As far as the processor goes, you might check for a bios update
in the download section of the asrock site to insure compatability.
Be very careful when doing bios updates.
Pentium 4 processors do perform better than celerons and you
should be able to install a faster processor.

Memory compatability is more a motherboard concern.
Crucial usually provides good matches.

Hey guys,

I was recently researching new computer parts and stuff for my computer, as it is really crappy, and I am considering the new Core i7. I was wondering if a) this CPU was any good, and b) if it would do well when running 7 with it. As well, I am posting this to create a discussion thread about this CPU, so feel free to post any comments or complaints about the CPU.

A:Intel Core i7 Series

Based on my experience (and countless reviews all over the net) the i7's are very fast.

An article in PCWorld even states...."Core i7 seems to be designed to work with Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7 operating system. He said the computer Intel sent him to try out is running Windows Vista but that chip designers had specs on Windows 7 while they were developing the new chip."

Or read this post from johngalt.

Bear in mind that an "upgrade" to an i7 calls for a lot of new items (from Tom's Hardware review of the chips):
"The new CPUs will only work on expensive boards based on Intel?s current high-end chipset, the X58. Also, it runs exclusively with DDR3 memory, which isn?t exactly cheap either. The new LGA1366 socket also requires a new cooler."

Which chip? Depends (obviously) on your budget. I've got the 920 and am very happy with it. With the right hardware/expertise you can overclock this chip to 4GHz.

Just a few googles and you'll have more info than you can imagine to help make up your mind.

Imagine if you saved your hard earned pennies, stopped eating out for awhile, and made certain sacrifices in your latest build all so you could splurge on Intel's 600GB SSD 320 Series. It'd be worth it, right up until the drive goes haywire and insists it's an 8MB drive. Not cool, yet the so-called '8MB bug' has managed to infest Intel's entire line of 320 SSDs. On the bright side, Intel recently acknowledged the flaw, which is a step in the right direction....

It's a common problem for Vaio's... Power supply is not able to "feed" all the USB ports and they become locked by the system. Try the following:

- Shut it down completely.
- Unplug everything.
- Remove the battery for 10-15 seconds.
- Plug everything back
- Start it!

I'm sure it will work ;-)

I just tested an Nvidia 9300 GS card with a Intel Corei3 HD 2000 graphics system. Here is the windows experience index scores I got :

Nvidia 9300 GS :
Base Score 3.9

- Processor : 7.1
- Memory : 7.5
- Graphics : 3.9
- Gaming Graphics : 5.1
- Hard Disk : 5.9

Intel HD 2000 :
Base Score : 5.2

- Processor : 7.1
- Memory : 5.9
- Graphics : 5.2
- Gaming Graphics : 5.8
- Hard Disk : 5.9

My questions are :

When using Intel HD graphics, it reduces the score of my Ram! How is that possible? It checks the speed of the ram. Not the size (i think). Intel graphics take some of the ram space but how can that effect the speed?

From both of them, what will be the good choice?

A:Nvidia 9 series or Intel HD 2000?

I'm pretty sure the Wei takes into account the amount of available ram in addition to the speed which would account for the reduction in the wei.

Also upon checking passmark it would appear that the Intel HD graphics does out perform the 9300 gs although I would need which i3 processor you have to confirm

i3 G3D rating is 200+
9300 GS G3D rating 138.

out of the two I guess you should stick with the integrated graphics since it is better unless you need the extra Ram that is uses

If you haven't done too much with it you might be able to recover some files by using a file recovery app like PhotoRec - CGSecurity To get some information back. I wouldn't use those files, but it might give you enough info to jog your memory to where you could remember the right driver, and then you could go back and re-download it to re-install.

The driver page for your NV78:
Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / NV Series / NV78

Intel's site, but there again you would need to know the make of OS to match up the proper drivers:

I am considering buying a new laptop (both are HP) and was hoping to get an answer to which processor would better suit me..I don't game a whole ton, so no worries in that. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck and the one that will last the most. They both are roughly the same price out the door with tax.

Core i7 Intel? HD Graphics 4400 or AMD A8-Series AMD Radeon HD 8210 which is going to be better in the long run.

Thank you all,

Is there any workaround to resolve this issue.

A:CD Burning issue in Intel DG965 series motherboards.

I've built quite a few systems using both the 965 RY and DH boards for customers and haven't had a problem although most all of them are using the XP native burner. The last system I built with an RY board is the same AA number as the boards you are using and the customer is using an OEM version of NERO that came with an external HP DVD burner and is able to burn CDs and DVDs on the external, and CDs on the internal with NERO.

What is the BIOS version of your boards? Did you receive any error messages?

I have Toshiba Satellite L300 with Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family graphics card. I download older drivers from intel site. Unpack it using Total Commander, right click on setup.exe, properties, compatibility tab and check "Run this program in compatibility with" and choose Windows 7. Also at the end of the same tab, under Privilege level check "Run this program as an administrator". Click OK and run setup. If you have problem I will upload my drivers (for Windows 8 Pro x64) but I need a few hours becouse of little upload speed.
PS. Sorry for my bad english

Hi people, my laptop has Mobile Intel R 4 Series Express Chipset Family, and now I am using Windows 8. Problem is I can't install Intel? graphics media accelerator driver that was been used when I was using Windows 7. Problem says "this computer does not need the minimum requirement of installing software." How can I solve this, help me.

A:Graphics Media Accelerator of Mobile Intel R 4 Series

Drivers and driver updates for OEM computers (particularly laptops) should come from the OEM. The issue is that the OEM may have customized versions of the hardware that is not compatible with Intel supplied software. I suspect that is the problem here. Intel has published warnings about this.

Hellow everyone. I Know that Windows 8 doesn't support this program. Before i have Windows 8 but i had to format. Now i dont' find how to install it. Anyone knows how can i install Graphics Media Accelerator of Mobile Intel R Series Express Chipset Family?

Thank you

A:Graphics Media Accelerator of Mobile Intel R 4 Series

You said you had Win 8, then you formatted but you never stated what OS you are running right now. Either way, you are correct that your GMA is not generally supported in Win 8. If you provide you system specs and more detail about your current OS and exactly what you are trying to do, then someone may be able to help you. Good luck.

I would suggest that you try restoring to an earlier point, before you damaged your registry by "cleaning" it, and before the problem with your machine was serious.

I want to update my graphic accelerator driver which is Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family.
On the Intel's website I've found for this accelerator and Win XP OS new driver which has been released 31.3.2009, its version is

Though I can't install it because this driver isn't verified by Toshiba and on Toshiba's website is driver which is one year old (of course I've got this one). So, is some way to install new driver from Intel or can you please this driver verified?

BTW If latest drivers are more than one year old, it doesn't look like good support.

Anyway have you tried the drivers from a newer Toshiba model?

Is there a reason you want to update the driver? i.e. Do the new drivers fix a problem you are seeing?

Hi I came here because there were no information about solving a problem with this Chipset Mobile Intel Series Express Chipset Family but I find a video that explains that we have to get an older version for this chipset not the one that has the WDDM So the first you have to do is download this It's a Graphic Accelerator from Intel so don't worry about third party programs Then you just have to install it and restart your computer and you will have this if you have this options available then everything it's okay because this means that you have the proper version of the driver I know it's a little bit complicated to explain but this is the best solution I have found The last version Series 4 Solution Chipset Family for Intel?
