I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It saves money on R&D and manufacturing as you don't have to research anything new or get in/ change any equipment which is good for the business as it's saving costs, but it is poor for technology and comes across as incredibly lazy. It's 2015 and they're still releasing cards produced in 2012, at least Nvidia cards offer some improvements, even if they are a rebrand.

Hi All,
This is my first post here
So the issue I am facing is that I have a Dell Laptop with dual graphics card (Intel(R) 4400 integrated and AMD Radeon 8850m dedicated). The System would not detect any AMD driver installed on it. The device manager was showing only the Intel Graphics Card being installed .
Then I went on to uninstall the Catalyst Command Center from Control Panel, wherein I completely uninstalled the AMD Graphics driver and everything related to it.
Now, AMD is not at all being recognized by my system. Device manager doesnt show it even in hidden devices, DriverEasy scan doesnt read it, Even Dell System detect is failing to detect the AMD graphics Card.

How do I proceed ahead with this issue.

Have I somehow unmounted the hardware internally?
Is there anyway besides a factory reset to get this working again ( I have concerns with a factory reset also not helping me )
What system scan tools can I use to get my laptop to recognize the Device again?
Please Help
Thanks In Advance

A:Laptop Problems; Samsung Ultrabook Series 5

This sort of problem is tough to troubleshoot over the internet. It could be quite a few things that could cause the symptoms that you're experiencing. With that said, I'd probably start with updating the discrete GPU drivers. Since you did switch from integrated to discrete, this could be the main cause for the graphic glitches which is probably crashing the system.

Moving forward, I think you should download something like CPU-Z to monitor the CPU load and temperatures during the crashes. It could be that your CPU is overheating and could use some attention.

Hello,

I am looking into upgrading one of our conference rooms at work with something that can provide output to at least 2 HDTV and 1 projector, with the future of a 3rd hdtv.

I been out the loop for awhile with video cards, and wanted to know if anybody knows of a way this can be done with a possible video card that has 4 hdmi outputs? They will be (2) 55 inch hdtvs and a projector which should output its own resolution

Thanks for the help ahead of time.

A:Any video cards with 4 HDMI outputs?

No video cards I know of have 4 HDMI outputs, but you can find plenty of cards that have that many if you combine DVI + Displayport. You could always use DP converters to HDMI got get the appropriate number of connections, but remember that after 2 non DP devices you'll need to start using Active Converters if you plan to keep the signal digital.

2. 2x nVidia GTX 970 (MSI/Asus Strix) (SLI)

EVGA 850 G2
Intel Core i5 4690K
Asus Maximus VII Hero
GSkill Trident 16GB
Intel 730 Series SSD (480 GB)
NZXT S340

Have been reading up a lot but am finding it hard to choose. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A:GTX 970 SLI, Radeon 290X CF or Single GTX 980 for 1440p (120Hz)

Only the first two options will get you to 120 fps on any game made within the last few years. I have a machine with an i7 and 970 SLI and a machine with an i7 and an EVGA 980 Superclock and at 2560x1440 only the 970s can manage... and not all the time. Most of the time I set my monitor refresh to 100Hz because there's a much greater chance that my cards can get me there.

I don't have any AMD GPUs atm so can't say about that but I will say that I've had one hell of a time getting XFX to honor their warranties in the past.

Hi Guys,
What is the succession of nVidia cards in this linage GTX 960, GTX 970 GTX 980 Titan-X all with Maxwell architecture as in the dates of release?...(obviously the Titan was just announced last week!)
Just trying to work out a purchase option, being that this range is based in two CPU chipsets that of the LGA1155 and the LGA2011-v3.
How long would the wait be, before nVidia released a graphics card that was design based, entirely on the LGA2011-v3 socket?
As I need to upgrade my machine in the next month and am opting for the LGA2011-v3 path.

Kind of a curly question

A:What is the succession of nVidia cards?

U listed The cards in as the better, u're 1155 chipset would run any of these card fine. PIC-E 16 is all the speed u can get on any socket, the LGA2011-v3 will just give u more lanes for more cards to run on. That does not mean they will run faster unless u are already filling up the lanes (most boards will run SLI) at least 1155 boards and upwards. the list as in slower to faster is GTX960, GTX970, GTX980, and the Titan-X being the fastest.
the only way any thing is going to speed up is if u are trying 3 way SLI.

I was wondering what makes NVidia's quadro cards so much more expensive than even the high end gaming GPUs? I know there more for the "workstation" PC and are used more for 3d modeling and such with programs like 3ds max and maya but what exactly do these quadro cards have that the high end gaming GPUs don't? More cuda processors? Higher Memory bus width? The reason I am asking is because I recently purchased a GTX 780 SC and was thinking of getting into either 3ds max/maya in the near future. To answer your question, the Quaddro series of cards or FirePro for AMD are different from the gaming cards because they re-purpose the cards for straight up compute. The software included with them and drivers along with some additional features make them poor at gaming but better in the fields of compute/cuda dev/opencl/etc. Also those cards in most cases also cram more RAM than the standard card models for higher rendering among other things.

You will be fine with a 780 for the basics of 3DS max and maya and adding another would be somewhat beneficial later down the line but you can definitly use your superclock GTX 780 for this and get decent performance for these programs.

Would enabling it help system performance even if not using a 3rd monitor?
Would enabling it help system performance if I used 1 monitor per video card instead of both thru the new radeon?

I'm going to say no.

The reason I say that is unless you can connect the onboard graphics in SLI/Crossfire, the moment you insert the dedicated card, the onboard graphics will be disabled. Since you have nVidia onboard and inserted an AMD card, I know SLI/Crossfire is out of the question. But who knows, I could be wrong because I definitely don't know it all.

I will say making BIOS changes is not damaging. If you make a change that keeps the machine from posting, you can always pull the coin sized battery to default all the settings.

Yes, those two items will be compatible with each other.

DDR3 & DDR5 are VRAM types and GDDR5 is a motherboard RAM identification.

But keep in mind that there can be other compatibility issues such as the graphics card being too long to fit in the case.

It depends on what you are referring to, there is not real issues with the R series GPU's in terms of display output. Most of the associated problems people are having involve a few things:

Some of the 4k monitors (The AOC for instance) use a very odd way to refresh which caused the display to flicker on the R9 series GPU's which was resolved in a recent patch.

Some high refresh displays using DP

and some others

However I would not worry, most of the problems if any are fixed via patches and catalyst revisions. If the manufacturer has to update something like the this its normally involves something like with their own software or certain things in environments not working together properly. I would not worry, I have done nothing to my PowerColor R9 290X trio and they all work great.

Good day chaps, yesterday night I was casually playing a game (Aion > mmorpg) and I decided to put some music on(it was on browser, YouTube), when I pressed alt+tab to change it it started flashing telling me the exact issue : AMD DRIVER CRASHED AND FAILED TO RECOVER.

I got a bit scared when it gave me a blue screen, so I thought of asking for any tips or clues why it does that~

For unkown reasons, I can't upload the .dmp file saying either its empty, or The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension.

Hope you can help me and thanks a buck!~

Hi all I no the title of this topic maybe hard to understand, basically im in the market to be upgrading from z77 to a newer z97 board, I have a few in mind that range from $180 all the way to $400, and when it comes down to it, it is the pci express lanes. I'm currently running dual 7970s and I noticed a lot of motherboards run 2x8x with dual video cards but some boards will run at 2x16x, so I was just seeing if anyone can tell me if theirs a big diff between running 2x8x and 2x16x with crossfired cards. thanks a bunch!

Hi I have a really really crappy Graphic Card GT 610 (Ik just dont) And so does my brother. My brother is getting an upgrade and is giving my his Graphics Card GT 610 aswell
Is there a way to Make them work together so I will finally be able to play NORMALLY?
What do I need to buy to make this work if it worth it?
I have a really low budget of 100$ and I am from Israel so if it costs in USA 100$ it means that here is costs about 220$ (Ik HOLY ****) Because if it costs more then I will simply get a new card

Tnx for the helpers!

Recently bought the GPU and realised that my current power supply wasn't quite good enough, so I went and bought an "emergency" PSU locally. Specifically an 850w PSU by Power Zone.

Now the GPU is amazing but sometimes I struggle to run some games on full settings, such as Assassins Creed 4, Shadow Warrior, etc. , and obviously I bought the card with intentions of running games on ultra with decently good FPS.

Now to the point, is it the PSU that could be holding me down? The recommended wattage on the AMD site stated it to be 750w. and I do believe that my system specs are pretty much good enough.

I'd also like to point out that a friend recently got a Radeon 7950 and claims to run above mentioned games on full settings with no problems. Again so he claims

Hello I have been planning on investing in a graphic card soon At the moment my eyes are focused does really Radeon What TrueAudio , AMD it do? on the AMD R X It comes with the feature TrueAudio Which sounds awesome indeed Who wouldn t want it I know I want it but I don t have a clue what it is Amd describes it as following on their website quot With the sonic brilliance of AMD AMD Radeon TrueAudio , What does it really do? TrueAudio technology your games now sound AMD Radeon TrueAudio , What does it really do? as good as they look More acoustic bandwidth and capabilities for developers to play with plus a healthy slug of extra audio performance make for a richer in-game soundscape quot AMD Radeon TrueAudio , What does it really do? Does this mean there is something close to a soundcard in the GPU or does it add features to your own soundcard meaning you must have an actual sound card to be able to benefit from this feature Do you have any idea what it actually does and can put it in easy context so a retard like me can understand Best regards Obzoleet nbsp

A:AMD Radeon TrueAudio , What does it really do?

Without knowing myself, I'm going to say it sounds something like depth of field for visuals. Making audio sound as if it can be judged by how far away it is meant to be and the direction of which it is heard, by adjusting the strength of each sound within specific speakers. Probably a software implementation that can be turned on or off, depending on user choice and supporting graphics card.

I have a Sapphire rhadeon 7850. It can run almost any game on highest quality. So I purchased Crysis the original off steam and attempted to run it at Very high settings. After about 10 mins the graphics card crashed. So I had to downgrade it to High. After about a day playing on high it begun to crash on high as well. I now can only run it on medium. Today it crashed while I was playing Planetside2 and it has never don't that before. And just a few minutes ago it crashed while I was playing saints row 3. I believe I have the latest drivers and I don't know exactly what to do in the amd catalyst. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any suggestions would be helpfull.

A:Radeon HD 7850 crashing when I play games

Try the following things:

Uninstall and go through a Clean Re-install of your graphics drivers.

Download HWmonitor or your choice of GPU tempreature monitoring tool and see what type of Temps you are getting while playing games. Overheating will definitely make a GPU crash. (If it is overheating, go ahead and thoroughly clean your GPU. )

What is the rest of your computer setup?
What resolution do you play these games at?

I was just wondering what specifications you should pay attention to when comparing graphics cards. I was just looking at base clock and boost clock speeds on a couple different cards and noticed, for example, that the GTX 770 actually has higher base and boost clocks than the GTX titan. This leads me to believe that there is a lot more to it than base and boost clock speeds since obviously the GTX titan is better than the 770.

A:What to look for in Graphics cards?

They are different video cards, the GTX 770 is essentially an overclocked GTX 680 with a higher memory bandwidth so its a different GPU than the GTX titan and 780 and a different amount of cuda cores. Because of this, it can do higher clocks to keep up performance while the other cards have more Cuda cores but will consume much more power and heat to do the same clocks which is why they don't do it. Its all about that balance!

A:Question about config + graphics cards

You're spending way too much on CPU/MOBO, with a low-end cooler, instead of pumping cash into GPU.

- Get a HD7970 or a GTX770 at minimum.
- Maybe make changes to that PSU, it's not the best brand I hear, and 700W doesn't leave room for expansion.
- You can safely drop down to an i5 (saving $100) and drop down on your mobo (save $100).

Hi, I'm trying to install the XFX Radeon HD 5450 1GB graphics card into an Acer Aspire x1301-U1312. So far, I physically installed the card into the PCI express port (x16) but it doesn't seem like it's recognizing the monitor. When I remove the card and plug the HDMI cable back in the integrated GeForce 9200 graphics card, it works just fine.

What's the best solution to this problem!?

Any whom, thank you.

A:XFX AMD Radeon and Aspire x1301

Did you install the drivers before you physically installed the card? That would be my first suggestion. Check to make sure you put it in the PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot and not the PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot. Also, try the DVI or even the VGA connections on the card to see if those work instead. You might have a bad HDMI port on the card itself.

Rule number one:- if it isn't broken then don't fix it.

The issue here is windows will not format Fat32 above 32gb, so invoking the formatter when all you needed was to delete the file was a major mistake.

Hi All,

My PC configuration as below. Please suggest cheap & best supported graphic card for this PC config. I am not able to play 1080P videos and crackling sounds are coming if I play any 720p videos......not for gaming purpose. some times suddenly computer hangs in the middle and responds 2mins later, especially in Windows8 OS. in windows experience performance graph.....the least rated I.e. 2.0 for desktop graphic performance only....remaining things are rated very good.

Thanks in Advance

Any cheap low-end PCI-E card should do the trick. Post some up (around $50 max) and we'll confirm if it's OK.

Hello to all, my PC is old and not good I know, but I want to buy better video card and I need your help because I don't know much about computers. I want to buy Radeon HD 7750.
I have:
Motherboard: Gygabyte GA-945GCM-S2L
CPU: DualCore Intel Pentium D 940, 3200MHz
2 GB RAM
PSU total output is 400w max

So can my PC handle Radeon HD 7750 or I should buy a new one?

I just replaced the Motherboard today for a customer, it worked just great! I went into the bios and recalibrated the battery. Problem is that I think it burnt out the laptop because the laptop will not power on at all, just like before I replaced it.

What I ment was that I think calibration caused the burn-out of the board

Laptop motherboards can fail quickly. Was this a new or used board. I really doubt that a battery calibration would damage the motherboard. Have you tried starting the laptop with the battery out?

Just installed an Intel 330 120GB SSD on my computer running Windows 8. This is an older system with a Penryn1600SLI-110dB (Asrok) mobo, Q6600 cpu.

I see the drive in the BIOS. I see the drive under Hard Drives in the Device Manager.

I do not see the drive under File Manager. I do not see the drive under Disk Management.

When I try to use the Intel Solid State Toolbox, it says

"The Intel SSD Toolbox cannot communicate with the selected Intel SSD.
Consider changing to another storage driver compatible with your system and try the tool again."

I'm a noob so I guess my questions are what driver should I use and where would I find it?

I recently bought a new graphics card, a monitor and a 600w power supply to support the graphics card. I also reformatted after installing everything, wanting my computer to be in the best shape possible. It works fine, managed to connect the DVI and get the screen working. However, after I downloaded the drivers for the graphics card and restarted, I was getting visual artifacts everywhere, and my screen was randomly going from blue to normal.
After uninstalling the drivers, everything was fine again. I tried the newest drivers, and the oldest. Still have the problem. The card doesn't show up in device manager or dxdiag, it only shows Standard VGA graphics adapter. I've tried plenty of things, but nothing works. Please help

No
The 220 is less than half the performance value of an 8800. Of the 200 series, you would need a 260 to better a 8800.

Personally, I'd go for GTX 550Ti or better as they are the newest GPU's and use less power for their performance level.

Hello there,
I'm having a laptop with Core i3 2350M processor and was suprised when I read on Notebookcheck.net that this processor has an intergrated Intel HD3000 graphics card inside it. At the moment I'm using AMD Radeon HD7470M 1GB dedicated graphics card and I was wondering is there any way to enable that Intel integrated GPU to work along with the AMD card? I understand that I can't pair them with Crossfire because one is Intel one AMD but I think I read somewhere that you can run 2 different gpus without cf or sli but they will work different or something like that (one will just take a load off from another)...That's why I'm here asking you can this be done or I'm just hallucinating...

A:Pairing two different cards

I don't think it can be done. But I think I heard somewhere that the integrated GPU inside the CPU helps with video rendering, but I could very well be wrong about that.

A:Radeon HD 7850: will my computer hold it and will it work?

Yeah you have a PCI-E slot (red one) on your mobo so it's compatible. Only question now is if your case is big enough to accommodate the card. Measure the length from the backplate of the red PCI-E slot to the hard drive or whatever is the nearest obstacle and compare it to the length of the card you're planning to buy.

What PSU did you get btw?

Graphic Interface - PCIe 2.0
Processor - AMD Phenom II X6 2.8Ghz
RAM - Corsair 6GB
PSU - Huntkey 600W
Firstly I had the GTX 660Ti in my mind. It got released recently for $300 recently in US but in India it costs 24000INR nearly $430. So its out of my budget.
Hence I'm back with either the GTX 560Ti or HD 6870. So plz suggest me the best one which will serve me for the next 2years atleast.

Hey guys, so I've been getting a few questions lately regarding the intel vPro processors.
Now I've heard about these before, but only scantily, so what I've gained in terms of knowledge is that I believe they are used for business computers or something of the sort (?)
anyway was just wondering if somebody with some actual knowledge of these curious CPU's could help me out with a few general pointers.

1. What are the vPro series used for primarily? Gaming? Servers? Number-Crunching?
2. Could you give me a rundown of how they stack up against some other popular CPUs?
3. Pros/Cons

I look forward to seeing any potential answers, after all I'm keen to learn

Get an adapter and plug in the other 6 pin connector. It really doesn't matter what you read or didn't read. If the card has two connectors, both should be plugged in. All 460W power supplies are not created equal. Sometimes an indicator that a power supply is not designed to power such a card is the lack of one of the PCI-E plugs. Your 460W PSU could work but only if you power both connectors on the card.

So here's the dealio. I currently have an XFX 6870 and am looking into an upgrade. I've always found x870 cards to be good cards as I have owned a 4870, 5870, and 6870. So naturally I'm looking at the 7870. Given the recent price cuts they seem like they are at a good price/performance ratio. I'm willing to spend up to $239 for a 7870. So my question is should I go for the 7870 at $239 or pick up another 6870 for $100 less and pair it with my current 6870? Which setup would perform better? And is there another option for $239 or less?

Right now I'm leaning toward the 6870 crossfire option as its cheaper and I'm already setup for crossfire as far as power supply, motherboard, etc. go but I would like yalls "professional" opinions first. Thanks ahead of time!

A:Upgrading from the XFX Radeon HD 6870

2x 6870 cards in CF should provide really decent performance across the board, and even if you've got multiple displays. What resolution do you usually play games at?

I just upgraded myself actually... moved from a 1GB 5870 to a 3GB 7970 and the difference is quite staggering. If you have the extra coin I would recommend looking into the 7950, which can be had for around $300 now. Hopefully they drop the price even further as the GTX 660 Ti gains popularity on nvidia's side. The 79xx AMD cards are pretty powerful and provide excellent support for big resolutions.

A:XFX HD Radeon 4870 fan died

You have the fan in hand, you can measure it with a ruler across the middle of the fan and find out the size in millimeters. You could also take the fan off the card, because the size of the fan may be listed on the sticker on the back of the fan. I couldn't find a review that simply stated the fan size. You would have to find a tri-mounted fan of roughly the same size, depth, voltage and exactly the same number of fan power pins.

I am looking for a RAM card for an old HP 6600 series computer running Windows 95. Does anyone have any suggestions on a card.
Thanks

A:Need RAM card for HP 6600 series

Wow, I haven't seen an old HP Pavilion 6000 series computer in a good long time! Your going to be a little hard pressed when going to your local computer store and trying to buy a stick of RAM for this thing. Man, a 6600 running Windows 95, I haven't seen a computer run Windows 95 in eons. Well I'll try my best to snap out of my little "shock and ahhhh" thing and get back to talking about the RAM.

Again, going to your local computer store might be pointless, most likely they aren't going to have anything for you. But by happens chance I took the liberty in doing a bit of searching on-line for a supplier that still provides RAM for the old HP Pavilion 6000 series. Give the following place a look...

Arch Memory Store
http://www.archmemory.com/ram.cfm/H...y-RAM-for-HP-Pavilion-6600-Series-23118-63607

Now seeing what I saw on that web site made me shake my head and think to myself that upgrading this old dinosaur of yours might not be worth it. This web site only provides 3 different memory sizes for your computer. (1) 32MB's, (2) 64MB's and last (3) 128MB's of memory! I'd hate to hear what your system currently has as far as the amount of memory it has. With a bare minimum of 64MB's of RAM your system will run really bare bones and "no thrills" with something like Windows 2000 Professional! Your going to have to pump it up a notch and maybe try for 128MB's of RAM, if you want to install and run things, again at pretty much "no thrills" with something like Windows XP. But with Operating Systems like Windows Vista, Windows 7 and the up and coming Windows 8, I don't care how much RAM you try to squeeze into that old computer, it isn't going to be close to enough.

Again, if I'm on the mark here and truly found your computer and this is the one, I would again think twice about upgrading it! Plus with it running Windows 95, finding product support for that via the web is going to be impossible, Microsoft stopped providing support for that product 17 years ago.

I'll shut up now, just due to bafflement alone, I can't stop rambling about this!

Good luck.....

Clear your cmos after installing the new cpu, Reset your bios to optimal/auto, And double check your motherboard supports your cpu.

If that wont work I would RMA it if possible.

MOBO: Your Motherboard has 1x PCIE 2.0 slot. So you are good for upgrading.
PSU: A quality PSU of about 550W or greater will power a single GTX 670 or HD 7950.

Is your new PSU included in the budget of $500?

Can anyone explain the difference between the same GPU but different manufacturer (Asus card costing more than the MSI one)?Click to expand...

Usually the difference between cards are small. Some will have better cooling or one may be OC'd while the other isn't. Or some may have dual bios capabilities. I remember my old HD 6950's from sapphire had the ability to be unlocked to 6970's. All in all, it really just depends on what you want. The cards are all going to perform generally the same. If it was me, id go for the cheaper one.

Here is a article about the diffirent HD 7950's available. Maybe it will add a little more clarity to what I was explaining.

Hi I have HD vs 6870 Radeon HD 6950? quite a dillema now and I d be really grateful if someone more experienced than me could help me It s been years since I ve last upgraded my rig I just couldn t be bothered because all I ve been using it for was surfing the web and making music it was sufficient Radeon HD 6870 vs HD 6950? for that Recently my power supply died on me along with my mobo and I ve finally decided to do a decent upgrade At that time I didn t really think about getting a neat graphics card I ve bought Radeon HD 6870 vs HD 6950? a Phenom II X BE Gigabyte GA- GM-D H mobo Gigs of RAM unfortunately clocked at but I could change them somewhere down the road I suppose and a W PSU OCZ SilentXStream II I also have a P LCD Now I m thinking about a decent graphics card to complement the set I m not an avid gamer but I d really want to see Crysis in DX mode I m on the fence between an XFX dual fan heatpipe version or a GB The thing is I m on a tight budget and I really don t want to splash out I know that the gb will smoke the but is it worth the dough I will be gaming in p nothing more I don t think that either card can run C DX maxed at that resolution but I think it s possible to get bearable FPS with no AA AF and lowered tesselation I think the would do just fine wouldn t it Here in Poland I can get the XFX for quite a nice price but the is significantly more expensive I d have to fish for it on an auction site Also I think that my CPU would be a serious bottleneck for this card even OC d and the W PSU might not be sufficient as well What do you think Should I stick with the and do some reasonable OC Thanks for your help nbsp

A:Radeon HD 6870 vs HD 6950?

I assume your PSU is the StealthXStream II 500W (there is no OCZ SilentXStream PSU series AFAIK); you should be okay with either card.

I, however, would recommend the GTX 560Ti instead; it trades blows with the HD 6950 and runs cooler. Driver support is also better overall for NVIDIA products, and you may get it cheaper as well.

A:Crossfiring two Radeon HD 6950s?

yes the 6950 scales very well in games probably around 90% increase in most games maybe a little less but you would notice a difference.

Hello,

I'm trying to update the drivers on my Radeon x600 256MB graphics card with Windows XP 32 bit.

I downloaded the following file described as the ATI Catalyst Driver 10.2 (XP): download-euro <dot> oldapps <dot> com/ATI/10-2_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu.exe

On running this download, it has installed Catalyst Install Manager in C:\Program Files\ATI\CIM\Bin, but I have no idea what I need to do next!

Running Install Manager and following the steps through seems to do something, though looking at device manager, it doesn't look as though the driver has been updated (it's still version 8.162.0.0)...

Thanks in advance

Following instructions I opened and cleaned the interior electronics after it developed overheating problems that would result in it powering down. Following reassembly the computer will eventually restart but only after failing bootup at leastg two times. At initial startup or boot from hibernation the computer does not appear to reach boot source but emits a series of beeps, first 1 beep, then 3 beeps, another three beeps, and finally 1 beep. These are all about 1 second long and seperated by 1 second. Pressing and holding the start button again sometimes resuls in a full repeat of the above or the computer emits the series of 1single beats, 4 beats, one second long and one second seperation. Eventually pressing and holding he power button will evenually result in hearing the computer attempt to boot from the CD ROM (which is second on the list after the Internal HDD). Any help would be appreciated.

There is a very good explanation of "Beep Codes" here:-

Hope it helps.
