Preferred Solution: Video hardware error

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Video hardware error

Are you saying you left the software for the other Video card install.. This would mean the drivers to. If this is the case. and I am understanding you right. If so this may very well be your problem. I would uninstall the software for the old video cards software and drivers.

Hello Last Christmas I tried to build a PC for my parents It almost worked except that every once in independent -- but card hardware video error Video of a while the screen would freeze and the display would go all monochromatic leaving no choice except to push the reset button This happened with at least half a dozen different video card drivers although with the older ones it gave me a straight BSOD whereas with the newer ones it looks like the video was so corrupted that it couldn't even display the blue screen The Windows problems and solutions thingy said that this was a video hardware error so when I came Video hardware error -- but independent of video card back for this Christmas I bought a brand new video card an Nvidia GeForce GT which replaced an ATI Radeon Video hardware error -- but independent of video card HD but the only thing that changed was the fact that the screen no longer went monochromatic after a freeze now it just plain freezes I've tried updating the BIOS and the chipset drivers and I ran memtest and Video hardware error -- but independent of video card the Windows Memory Diagnostic but these did not show any problems The zipped html report and output of your jcgriff exe are attached In answer to the questions in the instructions The OS is Windows Professional x It is the original OS installed meaning there were no others before it It is a full retail version The hardware is year old except for the new video card which arrived last Tuesday i e days ago The OS is also year old it has not been reinstalled Thank you for your assistance

A:Video hardware error -- but independent of video card

Hi again,

I've been reading some of the other threads on this forum and tried following the instructions. I ran memtest for 6 passes instead of 1 as I did before (still no errors) and I tried uninstalling the Gigabyte power management and other utilities which almost certainly made it worse (the frequency of crashes has increased). I also tried reading the dump files, but all they say on the surface is that the Nvidia (or earlier, before I changed cards, ATI) drivers are at fault and I lack the expertise to understand the details.

Can anybody help? Or is this hopeless and I need a new motherboard?

A:Video hardware error

I'm not sure how to best test the card. However, Furmark:

FurMark: Graphics Card Stability and Stress Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net

really stresses cards. I've had it produce errors on an overclocked card that could complete the 3DMark Vantage set of tests at standard resolution.

A few months ago, I had errors with a GTX280. I thought at first that they were driver errors, but it turned out to be a failing card. Replacing it under an RMA fixed things.

In the nVidia universe, the GTX200 series is their high end at the moment. Don't confuse this with the GTS200 series. The GTX260, lowest end card in that series, is very different from a GTS250. The 295 is a dual-GPU product, and seems to need drivers that support SLI. The 285 is their best single GPU card. I'd suggest the 285 if you aren't a gamer. (Actually, it's probably total overkill if you're not a gamer, but your tastes appear to run towards expensive cards.) I'm not sure when nVidia will introduce their next product line, which will probably leapfrog the performance of the ATI Radeon 5800 series. I don't believe any dates have yet been announced. I imagine that the new series will induce buyer's remorse in anyone who purchases a current high-end nVidia product.

A:Video Hardware Error

Hi NewYorkGiant and Welcome.

STOP 0x00000117: VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED
Usual causes: Video driver/sub-system

This stop usually occurs when you ask your video/graphics drivers to do more than they are capable of. E.G. play a graphics intense game using only your on board graphics.
Also bear in mind that your installed RAM is very low at 1Gb.

To see if we can help to ease the problem, we really need to see the dump files.

See this thread:Windows 7 - Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

When i'm playing games like cs source, cod4 or using certain software from 10 minutes to 2 hours, the image of the screen suddenly freezes, the black screen appears for a few seconds, video driver recovers, video memory controller load locks up at 100%, the performance of a pc decreases a little bit and windows reports me this http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/9271/16759273.png. This error has been persisting since i assembled my pc six months ago. It really bothers me.

I have tried so far:
Updating video drivers
Running memory test (8 passess, duration 7:47 = no errors)
Plugging video card in another PCI-E socket
Plugging monitor cable into another DVI connector.
Formattting HDD

Can anybody help me solve this issue?

If you are able to build a computer, you know everything points to memory or graphics card or driver.

If you made the memory test with the built in memory diagnostics (it is very inaccurate), try with this: Guide to using Memtest86+

A:Video hardware error

The STOP 0x117 error is similar to the STOP 0x116 error - and you use similar methods to troubleshoot it ( http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tml#post280172 )

Unplug the system, open the case and check to ensure that the coolers are clear of lint/hairballs.
Plug the system in to check that all the fans are working (KEEP HANDS OUT OF THE CASE!!!)
Remove the current video drivers, download the latest drivers from Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers and install them.

If this still doesn't help, then try another video card.

Good luck!

Update the AMD video driver from Dell's website, for your model.

Code:
atikmdag atikmdag.sys Mon Sep 10 22:26:41 2012 (504EA161)
atikmpag atikmpag.sys Mon Sep 10 21:26:47 2012 (504E9357)

Uninstall McAfee normally, reboot, then run the tool to remove it that they offer, as well.

Set Windows Firewall and Windows Defender services to Automatic and start them too.

Update Bluetooth driver from Intel.com or Dell.com:

Code:
iBtFltCoex iBtFltCoex.sys Tue Jul 24 06:03:05 2012 (500E72D9)

Driver Reference Table - iBtFltCoex.sys

Update Realtek lan driver:

Code:
Rt630x64 Rt630x64.sys Tue Jun 12 09:37:53 2012 (4FD74631)

Download File | Dell US

That should do it, so enjoy.

Hi This is the second video card I have had this problem with First was an MSI GT GDDR passive cooled card on a MSI P Neo motherboard Unfortunately hot plugging this card into another monitor while trying to diagnose the problem blew the DVI port so it was replaced with an Asus GT GDDR also passively cooled but the problem has re-occured I was running an old version of prime to stress my E Video it? error, or is hardware CPU to check load temperatures But when I closed prime the screen went black Video hardware error, or is it? then came back on with lots of the graphics on programs I was running missing Also a bubble popped up saying the nvidia driver had stopped responding and recovered after the black screen I cant believe two video cards different makes are faulty In the reliability section of action centre it says video hardware error In event viewer it says kernal error at the time of this black screen Is it a driver problem or hardware The motherboard is from and used til now and I have heard the capacitors are not of the highest quality Below is a screenshot of the reliabilty error details Any ideas I am now using the latest prime and cant reproduce the problem

A:Video hardware error, or is it?

Unfortunately hot plugging this card into another monitor

FTR, I know of no graphics card or monitor that supports hot swapping. While HDMI cables are supposed to allow hot swapping, in practice, not all equipment does. The problem is the pins are too many and too close and if the user does not perfectly align the plug before connecting, or does not have a rock-steady hand, a short or arcing may occur. I have seen where this practice took out monitors and TVs too. Not just the card (or motherboard, in the case of integrated graphics).

I don't recommend the use of Prime95 for troubleshooting. Prime95 is designed to stress hardware to its breaking point, subjecting your components to abuse, and potentially damaging high heat.

Below is a screenshot of the reliabilty error details. Any ideas? I am now using the latest prime95 and cant reproduce the problem.

If you cannot reproduce the problem, then maybe it was a one-off problem. I note that was from the 28th so I assume it has been working fine since.

The motherboard is from 2008 and used 24/7 til now and I have heard the capacitors are not of the highest quality.

24/7 for 7 years running surely indicates there is nothing wrong with the quality of the components used on that board.

There is nothing wrong with passively cooled graphics cards either. Just remember, it is the computer case's responsibility to provide a sufficient supply of cool air flowing through the case. This may be more important for passively cooled cards. And note there are many more heat sensitive devices inside the computer case in need of adequate cooling besides the CPU and GPU. So you might consider adding a case fan, or replacing your existing fans with fans that move more air.

By the way, the only passively cooled (no fan) ASUS and MSI GT610 cards I can find are "low profile" cards. If your case is a slim (low profile) case, then case cooling may very well be part of your stability problem.

Finally, I ALWAYS want to ensure I am providing good, clean, stable power when troubleshooting hardware issues - especially problems that cannot be or are difficult to explain. So I would swap in a known good PSU before replacing any other hardware.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Quote:
"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds.

If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating.

Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

I would download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video temps

Hi everyone

My laptop (Acer Aspire 7736Z) tends to "freeze" when playing videos such as youtube or other online streaming media. When I say "freeze" I mean the sound slows down and turns into more of a screech sound than actual music. The monitor is stuck and nothing can be done for at least 2-3 minutes. After that it jumps back to regular, but if I don't exit youtube, it'll do it again.

I've already installed all the latest drivers, re?nstalled Windows 7 (fresh install). I've reinstalled schockwave/flash, but it still happens

A:Video Hardware Error

Have you tried updating the video drivers? That may help. Some drivers may be problematic, especially if they are outdated. (Example: 353.54 WHQL is known to cause BSODs on Windows 10.)

Hi my Action Centre warned me today about a quot Video Hardware Error quot and tells me that my Video Hardware Error gfx card drivers stopped working multiple times I also have dump files however before attaching those I wanted to ask how seriously I should take the following statement in the quot Video Hardware Error quot message in order not to upload infected files to the forum Warning If a virus or other security threat caused the problem opening a copy of the files could harm your computer Also although I have x GB RAM installed two days ago I discovered that my PC tells me that out of GB are usable and in BIOS only MB RAM are found I have changed slots Video Hardware Error etc and am pretty certain that one of the two sticks just died One worry as all these issues seem so unrelated is that maybe my motherboard is broken Please tell me if it is safe to upload the dump files and I will do so later today Cheers Me

Also, although I have 2x2GB RAM installed, two days ago I discovered that my PC tells me that 2 out of 4GB are usable and in BIOS only 2048MB RAM are found (I have changed slots etc and am pretty certain that one of the two sticks just died). One worry, as all these issues seem so unrelated, is that maybe my motherboard is broken.

Please tell me if it is safe to upload the dump files and I will do so later today!

ThisIsMe hi and welcome

We cant tell you how seriously to take those messages until we have the DMP files to see what is causing them.
Please up load to us.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

When I play games, mainly World of Warcraft and The Sims 3, I'll occasionally get a video hardware error. If I'm playing WoW, the screen just flashes black, recovers and I can continue playing. If I'm playing The Sims 3, it keeps erroring until it locks up the whole laptop and I have to restart. But a message in the Action Center pops up saying that it was a video hardware error.

I have an Acer Aspire 7740-5691 with an Intel Graphics Accelerator. I'm running Windows 7. I checked Intel's driver updates and it only showed one update and that is the current video driver I have. The old driver's no good, because with it my games weren't playable. Graphics flashing, and textures not showing up.

So, I was wondering if there is something else I could do to stop these errors? This is a new laptop. I've only had it a couple of months.

Hello. I turned on my computer a few hours ago and it's been running much slower than normal. For example, it takes a minute for Windows to load when it usually only takes a few seconds. Please help. I think a video hardware error may be the cause. I recently updated from Internet Explorer 8 to 10.

I have also attached my Seven Forums zip.

I have been having problems like this for quite a while now. Earlier this week, I updated my BIOS, my motherboard chipset, and my video card driver, but apparently that did not fix the problem

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

A:BSOD: Video Hardware Error

Okay, I tried to do some investigating on my own but came up empty. I tried following the BSOD Debugging Tutorial on this site (BSOD Analysis - Getting Started). What I came up with is below. However, I definitely don't see a "Probably caused by" line. Also, I noticed at the top it says AMD64. Did I accidentally download the wrong debugger...?

Greetings.

Recently I have come across "Hardware Video" errors. I sure hope this isn't anything serious as I haven't seen freezes, orveating issues or any blue screens since it started to happen'.

I'm on a 2011 Toshiba core i3 laptop that has an nvdia 315 graphics card. Two years ago I updated the nvidia drivers, which was a really bad decision.

My laptop is of great importance to me. I've put four years of my life and work into this machine. I have valuable work for me here. Losing all of this would really, really be a BAD thing to me. Do I need to worry? Should I start backing up some of the files somewhere?

A:Video Hardware Error - LiveKernelEvent

Hi there,
Here are a few things to try with this error.
1.) make sure all vents on the laptop are clean and clear, there might be a heat build up causing the video to crash.
2.) make sure you check for malware
3.) even tho you have the most current drivers try to uninstall them reboot and reinstall one of the files might have become corrupt.
4.) make sure you have updated your directx files one might have become corrupt.

Try this and let us know.

Last night, I came home to find that one of my screens on my PC was grey with loads of white lines through it. I had to force it shut down, and I saw the error "Video Card Error". I have the new AMD Crimson Driver which I've heard can be buggy.

It has done this kind of thing when it over heats but the PC was idle with the screens off so I wouldn't think it got that hot.

Another thing to note was that I swapped from a Pentium G3258 to an i5 4690k, which seemed fine until I got this thing... What do you guys think was the issue?

Thanks,

Sam.

A:Video Hardware Error on Windows 7 Home

What is the physical nature of the problem? Do you get a blue screen? Does the screen go black? Does the PC reboot?

Relevancy 55.9%

Hi, this is only happening when my GTX 1080 is being used during gaming or used with BOINC.

The 1080's fans will go to 100% and the screen will go black.

Mouse and keyboard won't work and I have to hold down the power button on the PC and reboot.

It can happen after 1 minute or 1 hour, there is no pattern.

The card is not overheating, MSI afterburner has it at about 60 degrees C.

Windows and NVidia drivers are up to date.

Any suggestions please? Thanks

If you think that the problem occurred after updating the antivirus (though it may not be); boot into safe mode and uninstall the antivirus, as a test?

If you get BSODs, post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

When gaming (ME3, Shogun2) I experience random crashes. These can occur in menu immediately after loading up, or after hours of play.

I updated my system specs per a forum tool, and I copied bug reports to this post as text files.

This is way beyond me- overheating, monitor incompatibility, sound errors, power source? The frequency of crashing is high but at irregular intervals, making it difficult to pinpoint.

Typical error:

WD-20130408-1733.dmp
sysdata.xml
WERInternalMetadata.xml

Details attached. I hope its sufficient.

Thank you!

Hello simplex and welcome to Seven Forums.

Starting with the basics, let's try to rule out any malware related problems. After running a full scan with your installed and updated anti-virus suite, I'd suggest running an additional full scan using the free Malwarebytes or even Windows Defender Offline. (No anti-malware product is 100% effective 100% of the time. If there was such a thing we'd all be using it. So running additional on-demand scanners like Malwarebytes or WDO is a good thing.)

Malwarebytes

Windows Defender Offline

It would help if you'd submit your dump files for further analysis. The BSOD Posting Instructions explain how to do that.

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

You may have problematic drivers, damaged or corrupt system files that are preventing those drivers from updating, or other issues like failing hardware that are causing other problems for your OS. Hence, the need to see the actual dump files. In the meantime, you could try running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately reboot the computer after each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

You could also try to "stress test" your drivers by enabling Driver Verifier.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

One of the Forum experts prepared this troubleshooting guide that also includes links to various hardware tests.

Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

And in addition to the dump files, it would be helpful if you'd posted this information in a completely unedited form. Sometimes false activation issues can cause problems.

A:Machine lockups with "Video hardware error"

If this is a custom built machine, then you need to look at two possible causes the power supply being inadequate for the video card, or the video card failing.

If this is an OEM Machine then I would simply return it.

Quick question: does a "Video Hardware Error" always mean the video card is at fault?

Sometimes I get BSOD and "Video Hardware Errors" when playing video games. However, my computer often struggles to cold boot also, which I learned is often related to the power supply (it usually requires being turned off after a failed boot, then quickly turned back on in order to boot properly).

Is it possible for a video card to be mechanically fine, but a power supply starts to fail, resulting in the video card failing, which finally results in "Video Hardware Error", even though the true root of the problem was the PSU?

A:Video Hardware Error/Power Supply

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Please follow the above instructions, so we can check if it's a graphics card issue at fault or a driver issue.

Hi,
Not sure if it's still true or not in the asus 1080 but their 980 hates high resolutions and only as high as 144Hz
Is okay using msi afterburner though but gpu tweak it is total garbage

My evga 980 hybrid = reference card performs better

Waht I would like you to do is to go into device manager. type device manager in search.
Go to the display tab. Is there a yellow triangle on the device driver?
go to the network tab look at both wifi and wan
Is there a yellow triagle on either of these

let us know the results

"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception.

I would download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video temps Let us know if you need help STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting

I have a very serious issue with my brand new Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 GT 650M SLI system (specs at the bottom) . I can't play games at all because my system will lock up as soon as I enter the game, requiring a hard reset. My Windows Action Center is filled with Video Hardware Error reports. Is this because of a bad video card or is it a driver/software issue? I am on a clean install of Windows 8 Pro and have already tried the 314.22 WHQL and 320.00 BETA drivers. Nothing is overclocked.

A:Crash and video hardware error when playing games

Youre using the 314.22 now were you using the 314.07 previously? Ive read that a few people have had the same problem with the Idealpad and the 650 series graphics card. They resorted to the 310.90 drivers and said their problems are gone.. Wanna give that a shot?

I keep getting a random video error It's happened three times but I only have dump files for of them because I guess it didn't completely crash The computer was just responsive enough to power down The dump file that your tool found is an unrelated BSOD So I included all the files Windows Reliability Monitor said would help Crashes - all generated there own files for dmp sysdata and WERInternalMetadata but they occurred together I think because the driver was attempting to restart it self but kept re-crashing Crashes - also occurred at the same time while Video Hardware error, the Web LiveKernalEvent, Browsing BCCode:117, I was browsing the web It crashed Chrome Also every time I power the computer down there are two errors that quickly pop up with HEX values about something can't be read or accessed in address HEX number something I can't ever view them because it shuts down to quickly When I try to stop the shutdown they go away Things I have already done Updated video drivers from - to - SFC scannow

So today I had a notification from windows action center that I have 2 Video hardware errors. It really didn't give any other info than that other than giving me a couple of very long log files that mostly just seemed to list all my devices and everything on the computer. It gave me a .dmp, a sysdata.xml and a werinternalmetadata.xml logs for both errors.
Anyway, I'm just puzzled by this and am confused on what this means. Any help would be appreciated. It also doesn't list the errors now unless I go into the action center and click on "Check for solutions".Thanks a lot

Hello all,

A couple of days ago, I upgraded the hardware on a video editing machine running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I was able to get the computer up and running, with all new hardware recognized. Yesterday, though, I encountered three BSOD's: REFERENCE_by_POINTER; IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL; and one saying "A device driver attempting..." The last one occurs every time I get to the welcome screen: i am not even able to log in. Please help!

A:Video Hardware Error when playing youtube videos

BCCode: 117 is a display driver issue and being that there are no dump files in your zip (sometimes that's normal) I would download this little tool called DriverView:

DriverView: Loaded Windows Drivers List

it's just a utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system, see what your display driver is and reinstall it after you have completely removed the other display drivers using the software you used to install them with, they usually have an uninstall option. If you have no luck after that I would venture to say that your video card integrated or not may be going bad...

New build. Win7 64 crashes & reboots randomly. Sometimes it will go for hours and then sometimes it will crash a few minutes after startup 3-4 times, consecutively. Under system reliability for every crash it shows:
Windows - Video Hardware error
igfxCUIService Module - Stopped Working

I've attached the debug file.
I've already changed the igfxCUIService compatability mode setting to run Windows 7.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

The other day I opened up a YouTube video and before it even started playing my whole computer crashed And crashed hard At first it just froze but then my music started looping really quickly Hardware times slow now Error boot Video causing up and the entire display just got all quot colorful quot and pixel-ly It's hard to describe Anyway I had to shut off Video Hardware Error now causing slow boot up times power to my comp by turning off the entire power strip So there have been no real damages except that the boot time went from about s to about s I have done a lot of Googling and researching and I seem Video Hardware Error now causing slow boot up times to have narrowed down the problem In Action Center in the Reliability Monitor there is a red X in the quot Windows failure quot row When I click on that day it tells me that there was a Video hardware error Video Hardware Error now causing slow boot up times on at PM followed by quot Windows stopped working quot at the same time and then a quot Windows shut down unexpectedly quot at PM When I open Event Viewer all my Event boot ups are now marked as critical starting at the first one at PM on Clearly this is not a coincidence so something in that Video hardware error is now causing Critical boot-up issues I compared two Event s side-by-side one from before the crash and one from after and I'm noticing that the largest difference is in BootSmssInitTime after before I have tried Google on this one extensively but with no luck So would anyone know what the problem seems to be and if so how I can fix it Thanks for all your help

Thanks,

Sam.

Hi. . .

One dump lists SNAPSHOD0.sys as the probable cause. Problem is that I can't find information on what this driver belongs to or what it is exactly.

It's not listed in our DRT - https://www.sysnative.com/drivers/

The other dump listed critical object termination. This could be a problem with the hard drive.

Run - SeaTools for DOS, LONG test - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/har...agnostics.html

If you have an SSD, be sure to check for a firmware upgrade.

Dumps are incapable of telling us the exact piece of hardware that is failing. All we know here is that you are likely suffering from "unknown hardware failure". Dumps + debugging are only useful for figuring out software/driver related issues.

You would likely be better off posting in our hardware forum where the true hardware experts reside. I am a software expert and know very little about hardware.

So just recently, about 2 weeks ago within 30 minutes of playing games my computer would freeze for about 5 seconds with a weird sound, then suddenly crash, and go into the bsod with an uncorrectable hardware error. I have no idea what is going on, and my research hasn't help me find answers.

? OS - Windows 7
? x64
? Vista 64
? Is the OS an OEM version : purchased
? Age of system (not sure refurbished, but bought it 10 months ago)
? Age of OS installation - reinstalled it today

? CPU: Asus G71GX
? Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M

I'm looking for some help on troubleshooting what appears Video no Transfer video - hardware signal to be a device or driver issue The device is the Roxio VHS Video Transfer hardware - no video signal to DVD Video Transfer hardware - no video signal transfer cable and the Roxio support people couldn't help I know the cable and it's software work they work on a borrowed Windows machine So it's got to be Video Transfer hardware - no video signal a Windows or laptop issue I purchased this product which is a hardware cable that attaches to the Audio Video composite outputs on a VHS tape machine or other player and to a USB port on the laptop Then you play the tape machine and it shows in a window in the Roxio software while it records the AV data into an MP file Only no matter what I do I get quot No Video Signal detected quot error from the Roxio software It just can't see the video data I did the install from CD It installed clean Then I plugged in the device and PnP installed the device drivers and they installed ok But I got the quot No Video Signal Detected quot error I uninstalled and reinstalled times now Once I used Revo uninstaller and did a clean install the other times I either uninstalled it from control panel and reinstalled or just installed over the existing installation Still the same error I deleted the device drivers unplugged the device rebooted and replugged the device It found the disk with the device drivers and the device drivers installed ok and were reporting working in Device Manager I did this about times overall We tried disabling some other drivers in Device Manager like printers Didn't seem to hep Now in the middle of all this i installed this on a very similar laptop same age HP laptop as mine sightly different model same OS It installed fine and it worked So now I'm stuck Best Buy will not take software back and really it's not the device But I'm stuck with a non-working device Does anyone have an idea what might be going on and how to troubleshoot this I figure there is probably a good general method for proceeding The drivers appear to set up ok and software ok just no signal on one machine but works fine on another Steve

A:Video Transfer hardware - no video signal

I have no ready answer, having never used that device.
But assuming from your information that there is a signal traveling down that USB cable, and all of the settings in the software are exactly like they are on the working laptop, then that leaves the USB port as the primary suspect.

Have you tried another USB port on the problem laptop?

More issues

WOW no replies how sad. Well I figured out which GPU I want its the Ati Radeon 2400 HD Pro. It has similar P/N's as my monitor(just an observation). Anyways I figured I had 2 PCI-E x16 slots(one was for the OEM modem I removed & 1 PCI x 1 with is practically obsolete from what I hear. So Im ok in that area, so far. The Graphics card requires a PSU 300w or more recommended. Also, requires an HD DVD drive. So my question is will it still work with my current 230w PSU & do I really need an HD DVD drive for it to operate properly. In regards to the HD DVD I wont be watching them on my PC only on my PS3. So is there anyone out there with a similiar issue or some insight on this subject, thanks

I would check to see if the webcam hardware is being recognized by the computer. Connect the webcam, then download USBDeview here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html (I am assuming it is a USB device).

Look for devices that show "Yes" it in the Connected column. If several devices are plugged in, you can use the Last Plug/Unplug Date column to narrow it down. If it shows there but your webcam software doesn't recognize it, then what is shown for Description, VendorID and ProductID?

Something Happened To Your Driver When You Installed It. Try Uninstalling And Reinstalling The Webcam Software, And Don't Plug In Your Webcam Until The Installation Software Says It Is Okay To Do So. Then What You Need To Do Is Replace The Shift Key On Your Keyboard As It Is Probably Worn Out By Now.

My system is pretty decent..

A:Video Capture hardware? Need Help

You are asking for something called a "VGA recorder" and a VGA splitter.
Use the splitter to split the video going to the monitor and hook the recorder to the other end. Mind you, that recorder thing will cost a fortune.

If I were you, I would double-check the software options. Make sure that you are using the optimal settings for quality and speed. Use specialised programs like FRAPS to capture 3D and a better video player to capture full screen video.

If you are not after perfect resolution, you could make your TV-out mirror the rimary screen and then feed that TV-compatible output to a video capture device, PVR or a DVD recorder - those are considerably cheaper than VGA capture devices.

A:No Video Capturing Hardware For Webcam?

Webcam manufacturer & model?

From what you posted...you did not install the webcam properly. If the drivers are properly installed, you should be able to use various applications to capture/edit.

Do you have a video-edit/capture program installed? Does it recognize the webcam as a capture device?

Have you checked for more current drivers/software?
