I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Error Burning photo's to disk

What burning software are you using?

For your second problem, you just need to change the view option for your My Pictures directory. If you are using windows xp then there should be an icon to the right of Folders, click on that and set the view to slide show or whatever you like.

I'm trying to copy an audiobook cd to a blank cd. It ripped to windows media player, but when I tried to burn it to a cd-rw disk I got the message "Windows Media Player could not complete burning because the disc is not compatible with your drive. Try inserting a different kind of recordable media or use a disc that supports a write speed that is compatible with your drive." Is there a different type of disk I should be using?

I m trying to figure out if my brand new desktop has a disk drive or other fault or if there is some ridiculously easy setting that just needs Strange burning error disk changing When I burn audio cds on this desktop they play fine via computer and my car - however they will not properly play in my admittedly aged stereo It seems that the stereo struggles to initially read the disk the only remedy I have found Strange disk burning error is if I repeatedly pause and unpause the track they eventually play and after this initial delay the songs play fine or at least better At first I figured my stereo was dying but I burnt the same audio files onto a disk using my old laptop and they worked fine I have tried lowering the burn speed to x and that did not fix the issue I use iTunes for burning I have a pioneer dvd-rw dvr- L ATA device Something else that seems to indicate a faulty disk drive is that the autorun seems to not consistently function Every game expansion I have installed I had to go to My Computer and open the Strange disk burning error contents of the disk and find the installation application from there That s not really problematic - I can deal with that but the cds burning incorrectly needs to be fixed Thanks for your help nbsp

A:Strange disk burning error

If the burned CDs play fine in your car, or on the computer, or other cd players, then I would suspect that the older CD Player that is having the problem reading them is at fault. As far as the Autorun function, it could be tht your Autorun Functions need to be reset or adjusted.

A:Disk Image and Disk Burning Programs?

You have the tools needed to create an image of your SSD already in Windows 8. A bit hidden, though.
Be sure to create a system repair disc, too. You'll need that to boot and reinstall image when needed.

Create a system image backup with Windows 8's hidden backup tool | ITworld
Search for "backup" and Windows 8 brings you to its new File History feature (which itself is pretty neat for saving copies of your files).
So where is the system image tool? You have to look for the "Windows 7 File Recovery" link in the lower left side of the File History page (or search for "file recovery"). It's not a very intuitive name, because it sounds like you'd be recovering Windows 7 files, but that's where the legacy backup tools are.

Instead of using DVDs....you have a hdd....why not store the backup image on your 500GB hdd?

I gave my brother a camera to borrow. He gave it back to me and when I inserted the memory card I got a message that it needed to be formatted and would I like to do so. I don't know what kind of memory card this is, but many of them have a little switch on the side to write protect them. I'd see if this is set in the "Write Protect" mode, that's the likely issue.

A web page opens ( not on the net but a HTML file I've saved to the disk) with a bunch of thumbnails of cover art I've designed. When you click on a cover it takes you to the track listings for that CD. When you select a track the MP3 plays..Can this be done on a CD. Do you need any kind of special software? or just use an HTML editor and your CD burning program. How can I do this or something similar. I'm sure tons of folks would love to know also.

Windows 7 Will not burn to a CD without MAJOR compression and you will not manage to run the setup from the disk with the compressed files.

You can only really burn the image to a DVD. There just isn't enough space for the Operating system on a CD

hi all l would like to burn a file to a disk it is a avi file but it won't play on my cd player can anyone tell me what l should convert it to thanks

A:burning a disk

firstly an avi is a video file so unless you mean dvd player you wont get it to play unless you separate the audio and save it in another format. Secondly if you are using a dvd player you need to find out what formats it supports. Usually the support mpeg 2 but it depends on your dvd player. Look up the model number on google and find out the specs.

Hi agh815!

When you say "I am very new to Windows Media" are you talking about Windows Media Player? Try this if you want to burn pictures.

Click Start (windows icon) > My computer > find your pictures > highlight all the pictures you want to burn then look at the top of that window and you should see a red colored icon which is the burn cd icon. Click that and it should start burning. Let us know!

A:Burning Scanners To Disk-

Well, you cant copy programs from your C:\program files directly to disk and expect them to work. The registry enteries wouldnt match up. If you want to save the INSTALLS to disk, that is perfectly fine. All you have to do is download the Install program (Save to your desktop), and i assume you want to burn them to a CDR, right click the icon for the install, go to send to, then select your CDR/RW drive and then your should be able to burn them fine. Reply with your solution :D

I have two disks that my drive won't read. It read all the others just fine, maybe 20 of them I've switched over to an external hard drive. I'm not sure why these two are being difficult. The older one won't even read. The newer one will read but it won't let me view anything or copy it over. It shows me the files but I can't open them. Is there any other way to get these photos off these disks? I've tried my laptop and my desktop which is older. No luck. Does the operating system matter? If I made the disks using an older operating system do I need to find a computer with that same system?? I know I made the newer one using the desktop I currently own. I'm just lost and frustrated, these pictures are important!

A:CD-DVD drive won't read an older photo disk

Hey wildbutterfly. I assume you were able to see and read/view the contents of each DVD disk previously on at least one of your pc's, correct?. Is it a good name brand disk (bought from a reputable dealer since I have seen fake TDK from houseware type stores, or one of the cheaper brands floating around). Try burning a DVD on either system and see if you can read/view it. I think having your prized pics burned to a good quality DVD ( along with an external drive) is the best way to go since any mechanical device can fail. If you were able to read/view these files on DVD before, and can burn and read files now (especially if the disks are the same brand),sounds like the disks might have been damaged in some way.I use a paste like cleaner from 3M for cleaning DVD disks (cleaned from the center straight to the outboard edge).

Hi
I have a photo program called ACDSee where I store and edit all my pictures, But I also have Picasa 3 which has different features that i like. My pictures take up 700MB hard drive space. My question is if I have 2 different programs holding the same pictures will this take up twice the amount of hard drive space? (i.e. 1400Mb). Tried googling for an answer before using Techguy but did not find any results.
Thanks.

A:would 2 photo programs take up double disk space?

Normally, your programs don't hold the pictures. The pictures are saved to a file folder, such as "My Pictures". They are only opened in the program while you are editing them. If that is the case, and I believe it is, the answer is no, it won't double your space requirements.

I am stumped. Completely stumped. I've googled and googled and googled, and cannot find anything on the matter.

Here's what is happening:
I've now tried to burn the same .ISO to both a DVD/RW and a USB and I have used: Unetbootin (to USB), Win32Imager (to USB), Windows 7 Image Burner (to DVD), and BurnCDCC (to DVD).

They all say they successfully complete the burning process. After that, I check the disk on both USB and DVD and they are both completely empty.

In fact, I'm pretty sure it permanently messed up my PNY 8GB thumb drive. I tried to use DISKPART to reformat it and a third-party tool called Fat32Format but to no avail.

For further evidence, I tried booting to my USB and DVD/RW after completion of the burning process, but it shows an underscore blinking and then eventually boots the HDD.

I have absolutely no clue what is going on.

Sincerely,
Confounded Computerist

Just a quick question, are you using simulate write and not actually writing any data to the cd or usb thus resulting in empty burns. What program are you using to burn the ISO to a CD?As far as I know, the Windows 7 CD Burning software does not allow you to make cd's from ISO's.ISO Recorder Canned Speech:Here is how to use ISO Recorder which can be downloaded from Here. Just pick the version right for your Operating system and computer.1) First install it which is rather easy compared to most programs. There are no Free Applications bundled with this like toolbars and such.Installation Step Two where you pick the directory to install it to, and the access level. I would select the default attributes.Confirming that you want to installation.Installation Complete2) Selecting a file to burn. You will need to right click on a a file as seen below and select copy image to CD/DVD3) Options window for ISO Recorder I would suggest leaving the default values checked or selected.4) Progression of Burn.5) Completion of Burn.As you can see this is a very easy program to use and master.

On a few occasions in the past I have encountered random problems when burning bootable disks. If memory serves me properly, trying again with a different disk format has solved the problem. Imgburn is the program I use. I can't remember which disk formats caused me problems (R, W, RW). Which format is recommended for this task?

Thanks for your feedback.

The files are probably still there and you may not even need to take it to someone. there is a good 3rd party app called recuva, that is quite good at recovering data.

Try that first.

I don't know if it is just the type of disc i bought as they worked fine on my sister in law's pc. When it comes to burning a disc we keep getting the 'drive is empty, please insert disc' and there is a disc in there. It works occasionally if you keep putting disc's in there (which is a painful process till one works). I've only had this pc 2 months, the tech support seem to think it's the disc that are wrong, i've so far uninstalled and reinstalled the disc drive. Any other ideas?

A:when burning cd's drive 'empty' please insert disk

Could be the Drive or the Media. Post specs on both please.

Sometimes it's a compatibility problem, so drives just don't like some media, even though both are good. At least that's what I read in places like Afterdawn and CDRInfo. Personally, I've never experienced the "this good drive won't run this good media".

However, I have found that my really nice BenQ 1640 won't even sniff at the cruddy Memorex media I bought at Wal-Mart, much less take a bite out of it.

It might also be a matter of quality. Maybe your sister's drive is better. (Meaning the drive is more a determining factor than is the computer itself.)

The easiest thing to do is buy a small package of high-end media and try it. (True CD-burning freaks swear by something called Tayo-Uden, or however you spell it. But then they argue over this as well.)

How are you doing your burning ? Using WinXP, or 3rd party software?

Sometimes WinXP's CD/DVD burning abilities are not as good as your average User would expect. Serious CD/DVD burners (the people not the hardware) always use 3rd-party, such as Nero, Roxio and some others.

I use Nero. It has a fairly long and steep learning curve, but once you know what you are doing (takes a while) it is rock-solid reliable and never spits out a coaster that I didn't create due to not knowing what I was doing.

I came here after finding the Piriform forums locked and with no answer to this issue.

After I run CCleaner and reboot, I get a dialog window that starts to install files for HP Photo and Imaging 2 for my HP officejet 4110v all in one printer. When it can't find the files because the CD isn't loaded, it gives an error. When I close it out it does this repeatedly then stops. If I load the CD, it solves the issue until I run CCleaner again.

I would like to hear from someone familiar with CCleaner who can tell me what settings to change in it before running it so I don't have to go through this over and over again.

i have both services packs and nothing changes. i don't want to partition them to 127 and then the rest is. there a way to fix this?

Hi, recently, i just purchased a DVD writer. I have a problem when burning a cd with the DVD writer. I will get a DMA-driver error, CRC error. I am using a 40-conductor cable, and set it as master (secondary cable).

Could it be the 40-conductor cable that is causing this problem? Do i need an 80-conductor cable?

Thanks in advance.

A:DVD WRITER - DMA-driver error, CRC error when burning CD

If it always reports a driver error you need to eliminate this first.
Check the device manager and make sure it is not showing the drive as non-functional (Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager). If it shows a yellow ? the click to reinstall the drivers for it. Windows provides the drivers for optical drives.
An 80 core cable might be the problem but this depends on the drive. Can you borrow one to test it with?
Final option is that the drive is faulty.

Hi there.

I have just downgraded from Vista to XP as I enjoy my time more with XP and have slightly more experience with XP.

The first few days of the swap over were fine. Now, all of a sudden whenever i open a picture i get the following error message:

"Drawing Failed"

This only happens with some pictures and when i attempt to open them in photoshop (CS2) i get this message:

"Could not complete your request because of a disk error"

I hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance,

hello everybody here at B C As this topic mentions this is supposed to be a BIOS guide not exactly tho I will write about what System Please ( Disk Disk Bios's Enter Press ) And Insert Error Boot i have encountered and worked with when it comes to this motherboard in hope to expand this knowledge and hopefully finding a solution with a broader network As mentioned this is the ABIT AN Fatal ty S Motherboard without the SLI double PCI EXPRESS installed Basically my old motherboard stopped functioning so i had to replace it with the Abit Fatal Bios's ( Disk Boot Error Please Insert System Disk And Press Enter ) ty at first i was very pleased becouse i read alot of positive stuff about it altho i dont really like too much advertising this motherboard looked promising A part of the horror that struck me was that i needed to install WinXp from start there were reports of users who could simply do a repair of winxp so they wont loose any valuable data but in my case i didnt have that option my windows could not be saved Since i had HDD s i plugged in another one after backing it up from another pc becouse i simply mistook it for the hdd that had winxo on it anyway i thought to myself i could backup my winxp containing drive at a later state when i get winxp installed on the drive i just cleaned I then instaled all the hardware where it belongs and booted up and put in the WinXp SP cd and ran thru the first part of the setup where the files get copied over to your hdd before the restart All went well and the pc gave me as usual a second timline to restart or it would do it by itself I booted up again then i got this dreadfull msg disk boot error please insert system disk and press enter At first i didnt take it seriously becouse i thought it was a BIOS thing and boot priority wich was a simple task I got into bios and my configuration was as following Boot Priority - CD HDD Removable device floppy Checked if IDE controllers both and were enabled Ran an automated search for my HDD eventho it was detected correctly from start Ran the WinXP setup again and again several times and it copied all files over to the hdd correctly with no errors Flashed my BIOS with the lates version an BIOS compiled date Plugged in a diffrent HDD wich i know for sure is working and installed winxp formating and always choosing NTFS instead of FAT but with no such luck becouse i still got the DISK BOOT ERROR The nr HDD that i used last i put it into another system and installed WINXP SP and it worked HDD nr wich i had the original problem from i removed it and put it into another system and did a format into NTFS incase the winxp setup didnt format correctly it went O K but when i put it back into the Fatal ty system again and after yet another xp setup i got the DISK BOOT ERROR I cleared my CMOS and reconfigured still got the error I removed my original hdd and switcheed it into another pc and installed the first part on it and when it needed a restart i then shut down the pc and moved the hdd back to the fatal ty system and booted there DISK BOOT ERROR I tried installing winxp with the FAT system no diffrence Some say it might be a faulty or empty BIOS battery but my time and date are correct so i doubt it is from that Here are my specs AMD Athlon GB RAM Kingston Hyper ATX Powersupply w HIS RADEON X XL IceQ II Turbo MB HDD Western Digital GB RPM Anyway this is what i can come up with so far when it comes to this problem My hopes are that we somehow get thru this problem so that this can be considered as a HOW TO GUIDE for me and others to benefit from and explore becouse i think this must be one of the worst BIOS problems out there So any sugestions and or ideas are gladly accepted

A:Bios's ( Disk Boot Error Please Insert System Disk And Press Enter )

Simply put, the disk that you think that you are booting from, and the disk that you are booting from, are not the same. I did the same thing myself not too long ago. Pull out the other disks and install XP. Once it is working, then install the other hard drives. If you are sure that you are booting from the same drive on which XP is installed, then the disk is thrashed.
You said you took out a disk from another system and it booted fine. How about trying this? Take the disk out of your system that you think is the one with XP on it, and see if if it will boot the other machine?
This is no huge mystery. It can only be one of very few things.

I'm trying to install a PC with Windows 7 threw USB (2.0). Therefore I've used Windows USB/DVD Tool.
To note, I've installed a NEW hard drive, the old one broke down due to it's age.

Now I'm getting the next message: DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK.

I've tried setting the boot sequence but none of that helped, I keep getting the same message.

Thanks in advance,

A:Windows 7 Installation error DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK

Normally means that the hard drive is not detected. Check its connections, plugged securely into SATA1 port with no others attached, data and power cable securely attached.

Then enter BIOS setup by tapping the key given for that on the first screen. Is the hard drive registering anywhere there? It often will be represented by its Serial Number.

Reset BIOS to defaults, set SATA controller to AHCI, Save settings and Exit.

Try this:

Shut down all power to your PC by unplugging everything. Let it set for a minute or two, plug the power back in and try booting.

Hello everybody, i need your help. My computer froze and I tried everything to get it working again (exit, ctrl+alt+delete, patience) , but it stayed frozen then went to a blue screen. Forgot what screen said but main part was telling me to reboot the Computer, I turned off by power button because no other way to shut it off.
Then when i turned it on again, my computer was making weird noises, then went to ntdlr error after very long time. I press enter then it boots again and shows the "boot system error...".

Im running windows xp sp2 and main drive is C... I'm pretty sure i have a D: too.

My questions are:

1) Can my files still be recovered and if so how?
2) How can i fix this problem?

Please and Thankyou

there is this pentium 4 pc that i am working on. it is able to detect the hard drive but it tells me"DISK BOOT ERROR, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER". does it mean the hard drive is bad? how do i solve this problem

A:Disk boot error, insert system disk and press enter

Either the hard drive has failed, there is no OS on it, or the boot code is missing/corrupt.
You can test the drive with Seagate SeaTools for DOS, which runs from a CD in DOS. Download it by clicking "Downloads" on this page: http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/

Now download and install IMGBurn from here: http://filehippo.com/download_imgburn/
Use IMGBurn to create a CD from the SeaTools ISO file, then boot the faulty PC from that CD.
SeaTools will eventually open. Select the hard drive to be tested and run the short test on it.
If it says "Failed", you need a new hard drive.

If it does not say "Failed", this time run the long test on it just to be sure it's okay.

If the drive passes the long test okay, you just need to install a (legal) copy of Windows on it.

Hi,
I've been having problems uploading photos onto various websites like Facebook, and such. This problem has been going on for more than a month now, and I really would like some help. I have tried using Internet Explorer with no add-ons, but it still doesn't work. I have also restarted Internet Explorer, but that doesn't work either. Is there anything else I can do?

Startup of XP requesting Photo Gallery installation that was never installed. May have come from viewing photos on a CD.
It tries 4 times before the 4th cancel clears it from restarting.
How can this attempt-to-install-error be removed?

My PC is an HP dx 2200, with WINDOWS XP 2000.

My wife downloaded fotos from her canon digital camera. The photo icons (all 97 ) appear on the Opening Screen of the PC whenever I start the PC.

I have tried to CUT, and DELETE via a right click of the mouse. Each time I do this the system replaces the DELETED photo Icon with a COPY photo ICon.

Please walk me through what I must do to remove all these ICONS from my start up screen.

Thank you

Hi,

I'm running Vista, :-( and I just recently purchased a Canon Rebel XTi. I load my photo's directly through a card reader via USB onto my hard drive. I never had problems before with my other cameras with the files. If I try to open any of my old pictures by double clicking it opens Microsoft Photo Editor and loads the pics with no issues. If I try to open my new photos the same way photo editor tells me error reading file.

Now for technical stuff. No the files I am trying to load are not RAW format they are JPEG's.
Color representation is uncalibrated
compressed bits/pixel no data
EXIF version 0221
type JPEG
attributes A

Don't know what else you might need

Files will open with the windows photo gallery, right click, preview.

Don't know why the canon files would cause an issue, any help appreciated.

Thanks
Marc C.

I have IOmega 1 TB hard drive. 2 days ago, my comp restarted suddenly after which my external drive is corrupted.

I get the error 'H: is not accessble' The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.
It shows up in the disk management as RAW file system,

I have almost 700 GB of important documents, pictures & files that I don't want to lose.
Does anybody know of any good recovery software that can help.

A:Hard disk Error - The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.

Hi r4hara,

Welcome to SevenForums.

You seem to have lost the partition somehow and that seems to be the reason why it had turned RAW.

IMO, the best free software to do the recovery from a RAW disk is Test Disk. TestDisk - CGSecurity

It can be a little daunting for the first time user, and so take your time to read through all the documentation.

First use PhotoRec in it - which does not write anything to the drive in question - and try to recover the files.

Then you can use TestDisk and try to rewrite the partition. Some people have reported that even after restoring the partition with TestDisk, the drive remained RAW but they were able to recover most files using the option to copy.

Whether PhotoRec or TestDisk, it is going to take a lot of time to recover the files. Copy them to another external drive with adequate capacity.

You may find some help here to understand the usage.

Guide to using PhotoRec recovery software.

Good luck.

A:Non System disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready...Please Help!!

One of the more common reasons you may see this error would be if you have a USB flash drive or an external hard drive connected. It can also happen if you have something in the DVD drive.

So, if you have any of those types of things connected, disconnect them, make sure nothing is in your DVD drive, and try starting the computer again. I wouldn't be surprised if the error message changes slightly to something about there being no boot device found. In which case it would mean that your laptop's hard drive failed and presently your computer is looking elsewhere to try and find an operating system to load and failing.

A:BSOD + system disk or disk error can't start up my computer please help!

I'd suggest you run a diagnostics on your HD.

Alternative solution would be to:
The error code KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR STOP: 0x0000007A states that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory. It appears that there are some issues with the hard disk.

Use check disk command for any errors on hard disk -

Warning: Microsoft does not recommend interrupting the CHKDSK process. Microsoft does not guarantee the integrity of the disk if the CHKDSK program is interrupted. For safety you can back up your data before using the check disk command.

Use the check disk commands as follows:
1. Click Start.
2. In search window type 'cmd' and ENTER. Right click and select 'Run as administrator'.
3. Type at the command prompt CHKDSK /P and press ENTER to scan the disk.
4. Then type CHKDSK C: /F /R and press ENTER to repair corrupt sectors, if there are any.

NOTE: The root drive has to be C: and the command may schedule a task at the system startup, if it does, then press Y to schedule a task and restart the computer to perform chkdsk.
Once chkdsk completes, boot to the desktop and then check.

But if it's the HD itself may well need replaced.

A:Non-system disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready.

Well...if it IS the motherboard...which aligns with your suspicions...I don't know what to suggest.

<<I used driveimage xml to make a backup of the drive before attempting a recovery in another machine that wasn't in use>>
System manufacturer and model?

<<I figure it was the motherboard since swapping out power suppy with known good one still resulted in a dead box. No lights, nada>>

The PSU sounds like a good suspect when there are no signs of life, IMO.

<<I can do an "upgrade" install of another OS (resulting in windows.old file), but drive is too small for such a thing. I can do a full install on that hard drive and it will boot and run just fine.>>

What drive are you talking about...the original hard drive? If that's true...it would appear that the motherboard is not at fault.

<<It's the image that I can't get to boot. I currently have it imaged on a healthy 75.4 gb drive which...won't...boot....>>

What's the error message when you try to boot the image on different hard drive? Is that when you get the error message you cited?

Non-system disk means that the boot options are wrong, generally speaking. Have you checked the BIOS settings? A bad/failing CMOS battery could also be reasonably expected to possibly produce that error.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812492

Did you check the cloned drive...for the proper boot.ini file?

Hi everyone Going crazy with this So about weeks ago my quot intel rapid storage technology quot software gave me an error I opened it and saw that one of the disks disk array in my Raid array had an error I reset it back to normal and left it Then I started to get pop ups saying that files were corrupt over the course of the next few days My OS still worked and everything worked as usual except my sound card I have no more sound from Raid accessible check disk disk? array not for error, anything plugged into the jacks only USB connected audio works So I attempted to run a check disk to fix said Raid array error, disk not accessible for check disk? errors but Raid array error, disk not accessible for check disk? I get a message that the drive is not accessible due to a recent software package install quot error f c d e f quot I went into my system restore and all restore points are gone except one Raid array error, disk not accessible for check disk? When I click on it it says the drive is not accessible Today I installed new TB hybrid drives in another Raid volume yes I know but that's what I am using for now When I went to write the system image it said the disk had errors and to run a check disk first which I can not I clicked ignore and let it go and write the system image with the errors When it is done do you think that I will be able to run a check disk on the new drives nd array since it will not be inaccessible to repair the errors that it wrote from the bad disk I am not sure where to go from here My PC is still up and running and almost finished copying the image to the two new drives My hopes are the old drive will not do a check disk due to physical errors The new drives will not have physical errors so I am hoping that I will be able to run it when the image is complete Once it is complete can I take out the old disks and permanently install the new drives in their place without issues EDIT when the image write was almost finished it said it failed as H x or something like that was not accessible but the drive shows that it is as full as my other array Thanks for any help I am going crazy trying to do this on my own

Does anyone know about a problem with Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 and Windows Media Player 9?

I think I started having burn problems not long after I upgraded to Windows Media Player 9.

>> Even when I use a blank cdr or cdrw to record, I get error messages.
Right after load a disc I getthe message..."unsupported or bad media". I tried new Imation and Sony media.(CDR and CDRW)
During the CD Creation Process........the process skips immediately to "Closing session" and no data is burned. An error is reported by the output device.

Someone told me that in order to completely remove Windows Media Player 9(IF that's causing the problem) I have to reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows. I would appreciate any help I can get regarding this problem....

I tried some other burning software too(Nero and Deep Burner) and I had problems recording.

I have looked on other forums and found one who had the same problem but had no replies! I have got windows XP and a Philips DVD burner. I have a mountain of holiday, birthdays etc to sort out. Please help somebody!!

A:burning error

but with another photo program. I couldn't burn backups to DVD's for some reason. I got an 2Gig thumb drive and loaded them on to it in a flash.

Eventually I had so many photos that I had to buy an external Hard Drive to save them which worked fine. But I still can't burn the backups to CD (too much data for a CD anyway) or a series of DVD's.

I may not have answered your question exactly, since I don't think anyone can tell you what is wrong with your DVD burner and software (maybe someone will surprise you!) but this is a workaround.

Good luck.

Whenever I try Error Burning CD/DVD to burn a CD or DVD using Nero I get more or less of the CD/DVD Burning Error same error messages in the attachments below This only started happening today and never before did I experience such specific failure My dvd burner has failed me a few times before but not this way I pop in the disc choose it to be burned as a Data CD and then load the files in this case RealMedia files Then I hit burn at the maximum possible speed The process starts but there is no Buffer this time and after it stops and then later fails The farthest I have gotten thus far was around and then it failed again I tried slower speeds and all the possible different settings CD/DVD Burning Error using the same media which I CD/DVD Burning Error know for a fact is not faulty but it still failed Then I reverted to my old cd-burner I was using my second drive which contains an Emprex Dual x DVD burner which burns CD-Rs times faster which burns them at x This time I was able to successfully burn a CD but then when I went on and tried the second CD it failed again and so did the third one I tried searching multiple forums but did not find any satisfactory results Help would be highly appreciated in identifying the problem nbsp

I am using 9.0 on my old windows me system. I have copied whole cd's using adaptec cd burner, but I want to use media player to copy individual tracks to a cd. when I hit the copy button i get an error message saying Roxio is not installed. Why would I want or need to install Roxio? shouldn't media player do the copying?

A:burning cd error wmp 9.0

Instead of using the copy function, open WMP, go to Burn, select the files in there and then burn the CD.

Hello, I am having a problem burning audio cd's ( easy cd creater 4) and would appreciate any help on this problem. I had made an audio mix of songs, and before completing the first song (7 min song) there is the followin error: E0414 - engine error - canot read audio source #0.
After trying twice, i listened to the botched cd's, and noticed that the song ended at exactly the same time on both cd's (the error may have occured at the same point) Is the music file bad? Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated. I had recieved help from here before, and it solved my troubling problems, so I know how excellent you people are.

Thank you very much-
jamatt
