Preferred Solution: Multiple pop-ups and program automatic downloading

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

==================== One Month Modified Files and Folders =======

(If an entry is included in the fixlist, the file\folder will be moved.)

Hello,
nowadays I have to install a lot of same programs to different computers. I usually install fffice, 7-Zip, Firefox and other main tools. But downloading and installing programs one by one takes a lot of time. So I thought if there are any program, which allow to choose multiple exe files and make one which will be installed silently. I know program called "Ninite", but it doesn't install office and other things that I need. So maybe you know such an app?

A:Multiple automatic program installation

I don't know of a program to do such, but I simply have several programs, security/browser, on a flashdrive. Plug it in,install & update & ready to go. Good luck.

This isn't the first time I've posted here about this problem and after the first time it did seem fixed for a while However after a few weeks said problem returned with a vengeance Etc... Updates, Issues Downloading, Automatic and I am on the verge of throwing this laptop out the window The problem is this I turn on my computer and everything is running smoothly Automatic Updates, Issues Downloading, Etc... and quickly But then in between five and fifteen minutes a little black box appears in the screen that resembles the quot command prompt quot box and it says quot C Windows system wuauclt exe quot on the top bar The box itself remains blank except for the little flashing white line Automatic Updates, Issues Downloading, Etc... Not only that when I tried to shut down my computer after the black box would appear it would tell me that it was quot Installing updates of please do not shut down or unplug your computer quot This screen would remain from anywhere between fifteen minutes and an hour before finally shutting down After some research I discovered that this was the automatic updating feature and that it could be corrupted by viruses I ran every scan I could and as far as I can tell this has not been caused by a virus So I posted here and received some instructions about cleaning and stopping the automatic updates And this did stop that little black box from appearing for the amount of time I would have my computer on However when I would turn it off and then turn it back on the little black box would pop up again Stopping it every time got annoying so I shut the automatic updating system down out of pure frustration Then as I am a college student and downloading assignments are a necessity for me I tried to download instructions for a term paper The computer claimed I downloaded it but it wasn't in my download box and then when i searched for it on the computer it wasn't there either This happened two days after I shut down the automatic update Then in the right hand corner of the screen I started getting warnings about how I had security problems because I shut down the automatic updating Is there anyone who can tell me how to permanently get rid of that black box and fix the automatic updating part of System And if possible tell me if my shutting down the automatic updating system for a few days destroyed my downloading capabilities A fast response would be much appreciated Thank you

Walked my father through downloading (over the phone) with his Windows 10 laptop and Chrome browser. When he clicked on a couple of files no confirmation/navigation windows popped up and I eventually realized Chrome had automatically downloaded them. Just wanted to confirm that the option for a confirmation/navigation window in Settings is not the default one. It's been ages since I installed Chrome.

Thanks.

A:Microsoft Automatic Updates Repeatedly Downloading

I get this problem all the time, which is why I have automatic updates set up so it checks with me first. That way, if I'm sure I have it, but it still shows up, I can just un-check it, hit "Download" for the rest, and Check the "Do not notify me about these downloads again." option.

Edit: Just to be thorough. To make the automatic updates check with you first, go to your security centre and click on "Automatic Updates." The option you want is "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them." Then remove those items from the list next time you get a notification, and return your settings to normal afterwards!

Can't you simply schedule for BitTorrent (or whichever client you happen to be using) to launch at a specific time ? Once it's launched, it should automatically start downloading.

Hi, just noticed this on my brother computer. XP Pro SP2 with a fresh install about a week ago. I had setup windows updates to be automatically downloaded, but not installed.

Now usually the wonderful little yellowish windows update icon will pop up in the the system tray saying updates are downloaded and ready to be installed.

But its not there and wont pop up. I seen it downloading updates not that long ago...and when i go to turn the computer off it will offer to install them prior to shutdown. But wont give me the icon so i can see the updates and pick which ones i want to install.

So far the only thing i have tried is toggleing between the mentioned update download option and the other one for notify, but dont download or install. But that didnt work...
Any ideas?

Thanks for reading, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Hi PeterWeb,

Here's a thread addressing your WLM irritation for someone using Vista. Unfortunately it's implied that checking for new messages when that option is disabled is a bug - the workaround for which is to Work Offline until you want mail, then go online to download it, then Work Offline again.

I'll take a look at your puzzle when I have more time

I am trying to download a group of PDF files that are listed via links on my companies website, However I can only open one at a time, then save, and then repeat the whole process for each an every link.
Is there a "Trick" I can tall my PC to do somehow and download ALL the PDF file documents listed in ONE GO, The issue being there are 40 links in the list, and to open and save them one by one would take ages. Basically ideally id like to "Select" all the links and download all the documents (PDF files) in one go.

Is there any free program out there that automatically shuts down your computer at a certain time every night? I want to record TV shows, but am usually asleep by the time they are over, so I want to record the show, and then have the computer turn itself off at a certain time so that it won't be running all night. A:Automatic Shut Down Program

Go to www.download.com and do a search for shutdown. I'm sure several things will come up. You can then put the shutdown program into the Windows Task Scheduler.

I don't know which version of Windows you are running; but, on my 2000 system it is Start> Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Scheduled Tasks.

Does anyone know of a good program that will allow me to shut down my compuer at a specified time (i.e. two hours and 23 minutes from a certain point in time)?

I had found one that was free and great, but I forgot the name of it and have since formatted my computers? One similar to this would be great.

I recently upgraded my O/S from Win98SE to Win2k. Now when I download files from a web site, I can only do two files at a time, while with WiN98SE I could download as many as I wanted. According to MS KB Q183110, this is a deliberate to WinInet. The number of simultaneous connections from a single HTTP 1.1 server is set to two. This can be set in the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
by changing the MaxConnectionsPerServer subkey.

Problem is, my registry does not have this subkey.

Hi. I'm having big problems with something that might be very easy to do, although I tried (and searched how to do it) without success:

I've got a sheet, with 'Date/Time' as first column.
I can select that column, along with any other to insert a graphic chart into the worksheet and it works fine.
My question is.... how can I make Excel generate automatically ONE CHART for each column, with 'Date/Time' as X axis? I tried some dynamic table/charts but it looks incredibly messy (it's faster for me to create the charts one by one, manually!).
Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone. First time posting here!

My problem is that while downloading multiple files at the same time, using a torrent program, the system will freeze and I must hard boot it to restart.

I've tried different programs and they all seem to freeze, usually about 10 minutes into downloading.

I'm using Malwarebytes and CCleaner. Also tried several system stress testing tools such as Prime95, Furmark, memtest, and a few video testing ones and all have shown no problems.

Eventually I plan on buying an SSD HD but as of now I'm dealing with this issue that's very frustrating. System specs are in my profile.

Any thoughts/ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank-you.

Welcome to TSG. A mirror is just a server where you can download the software. You can pick any one you want, but usually you want to pick one close to your location. If one doesn't work just pick another.

I've set my laptop to operate under tablet mode at start up. When I'm in one program, say Edge and then I start a new program through it (i.e. downloaded a new program from a weblink and then clicked on the run option) my laptop doesn't automatically switch to the newly running program. It just keeps me in edge until I manually go to the new program.
Is there a way to change that so my laptop automatically switches to the newly run program/app?

A:automatic switching to newly opened program

Sounds like an issue with tablet mode as I'd expect it to switch. I suggest you use Feedback Hub app to report it as an issue.

I am trying to make a program automatically load along with the basic drivers and files windows loads in safe mode.
I've seen several people doing it, so how can I do it?

A:Automatic program load in safe mode

You should have a complete backup of your system so that you can re-image it in case you brick the computer.

The steps that you need to take depend on what the program is and how the program works. What is the program that you want to automatically run while in the safe mode?

If the program that you want to add to the safe mode is a service, then this info might help:

TuneUp came together with some other program that I installed. It pops up every time I open the computer. I thought maybe it was a useless program and I should delete it, but it seems like similar to virus removing program. Should I go ahead and click on "Run Maintenance"?

A:TuneUp Automatic Maintenance - is it a reputable program?

Should I go ahead and click on "Run Maintenance"?

No

Most of the items are relatively harmless but the registry cleaner is not. Registry cleaners have few benefits and generally cause more problems than they solve. They are of some value when used by an expert to solve a specific problem. But most people who use them have only a vague idea of what the registry is and in such hands they can be dangerous.

I don't have a very high opinion of these one click optimizers. I would never use one.

I want to burn ISO images
I'd like a 1 click solution - where I double click an ISO and the it gets burned onto a blank disc
(Does the double clicking make it a 2 click solution? LOL)

Also... I would like the disc ejected

I currently use Imgburn
Which does the job
I find it annoying having to do the extra clicking
Lazy? Yes, kind of - but I have burn an amazing amount of ISO - all different ones

Or maybe I should think of an automated solution that launches Imageburn and then selected options??
If so... where would I start with this?

Thanks
OM

That would probably be easier because I don't know of any burning program that will start burning by double-clicking a file.

Get AutoHotkey and read through the quick-start tutorial to get an idea on how it works.

You'd write a script that launches ImgBurn and then send keystrokes or mouse clicks to simulate what you normally do to burn a disc.

Then you could to buy a robot to take the discs in and out of the drive.

Sometimes if I download a free program and it is small enough in size I download it onto a floppy (A drive) as well as installing it on my computer. However, when the file is too large for a floppy, I have tried to download it directly onto a CD (a different drive, in my case M) and it never lets me do it. It says something like I do not have permission from the owner or author, or words to that effect and it just won't do it. I wonder why this is so. I know I could copy it from my computer I guess, but then why can I copy onto a floppy but not onto a CD?

Hi..Im having problems downloading MySpace IM and cant find any info anywhere about this so hopefully someone can help. When i downloaded the program, it took me through set up then asks me if i would like to run the program, so i do.. the myspace IM console opens up for about 10 seconds then dissapears. When i attempt to open the program again from the desktop or start menu, a box pops up that says missing shorcut - windows cannot find the shortcut and an option to browse or cancel, i tried to browse but nothing worked. Ive un-installed and re-installed the program many times and still no-go..I have no-idea how to fix this so any help is appreciatedthanksModerator Edit: Moved topic to more appropriate forum and added a topic descriptor. ~ Animal

Are you able to download any other programs? If so, does the installation process do the same thing as the myspace IM ?

Let me know. This will help BC diagnose whether or not the problem is a virus or spyware.

The other day one of my cousins asked me to see if the hard careful downloading program when Being any drive was ok on a laptop Being careful when downloading any program he was given as the previous owner thought it was running hot I found a free hard drive test program on some Softonic web site and decided to try it When starting to get it going there was a statement that reported that some programs will also be installed if they are allowed that didn't surprise me but I figured I'll just uncheck them At first it notified me that it wanted to install Wajam and I didn't allow it BTW I wonder if the uncheck option even worked anyway but then the real problem kicked in next all of a sudden Whitesmoke amp a couple of other toolbars started to be installed without asking permission or given a choice to answer no I immediately went into Task Manager and ended all Softonic processes did a System Restore to the day before and ran his anti-malware programs and everything worked out fine Anyway my message is that when downloads are done make sure to watch exactly what's happening because sometimes additional downloads might not have an uncheck option and or are not easily known unless you are on top of what's going on that also made me wonder if sometime it's not even possible to know what else is coming into the computer on some of those websites I did find SpinRite afterward and I sense that's a very good program and I might try it for him but I don't plan on doing any work on his laptop because it has other problems I just wanted to make the comments I did based on the subject title naturally I'd be interested in any followup opinions

A:Being careful when downloading any program

Yes, many toolbars and add-ons/plug-ins come bundled with other software as a common practice by legitimate vendors (and some folks actually like the features they offer). When a vendor includes an add-on such as a toolbar, they do so as a way to "pay per install" and recoup associated business costs. This practice is now the most common revenue generator for free downloads and is typically the reason for the pre-checked option. If pre-checked by default, that means you need to uncheck that option during installation if you don't want it. If you install too fast, you most likely will miss the "opt out" option and end up with software you do not want or need. The best practice is to take your time during installation of any program and read everything before clicking that "Install" or "Next" button. Even then, in some cases, this opting out does not always seem to work as intended.

A:Problem downloading program updates

Hello AU_Tygrz,

I would have preferred some other troubleshooting to have been done before referrring you here. I'm not seeing any malware in your logs. See if you can get this online scan done to search for any remnants. It can take some time, so please be patient and allow it to run it's full course:

**Vista users - right click on the IE icon and run as administrator

Using Internet Explorer or Firefox, visit http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/par...avwebscan.html

1. Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.

2. To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:Close any open programs
Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

3. Click Run at the Security prompt. The program will then begin downloading and installing and will also update the database. Please be patient as this can take several minutes.Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.
Click View scan report at the bottom.

Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply

A:Looking for a program to track what my computer is downloading

As a starting point, this might give you a clue as to what is going on..

try netstat -b

(start, run, cmd), then netstat -b at command prompt.

This will tell you each open connection, port number and the program that opened the connection

You could also try netlimiter (NetLimiter - The Ultimate Bandwidth Shaper)

or wire shark (Wireshark ? Download)

I need a program for Windows XP using Internet Explorer that will sufficiently download files. I don't want flashget because that corrupts certain files by splitting them. I don't need a download accelerator, i just need a program that will help you download files. For instance, if my internet connection cuts off for only a split-second, the file downloading stops on the default windows downloading program, so i would like a program that would reconnect without corrupting the file or stopping it from downloading. I keep having this problem and have to start over downloads. Some one help me!!!!!

A:tricking a program into downloading a custom file

I've edited out the bottom portion of your post with your e-mail as we keep everything on the boards, not behind the scenes.

I'm also going to close this as the potential for malicious use of batches is too great.

I'm a newbie at this. I need major help. I stupidly downloaded a free version of win antivirus pro 2007. I'm not sure if it completely finished download, but my computer was immediately frozen. To shut down the computer, I actually have to unplug it. Once computer restarts, it reloads so quickly that I can't even get to properties to try and remove the program. What can I do?!

JVN

A:Computer Frozen After Downloading Antivirus Program

The program in the link below should remove that for you.http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.phpThen you should be concerned about what else got downloaded. Suggest you use the two programs below.Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds. http://www.superantispyware.com/Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

I have no clue what to do.

Hello there and welcome to BleepingComputer. My name is Charles and I will be dealing with your log today. Please download VundoFix to your Desktop.Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.Click the Scan for Vundo button.Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button. You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YESOnce you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo. When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt in your next reply. Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.Download Combofix to your Desktop.Double click combofix.exeFollow the prompts that are displayed. Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang. When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt. Post that in your next reply. Then scan again with HijackThis and include the log, along with the Combofix and Vundofix reports in your reply. Thanks,Charles

I was downloading blender (game design program) and after it gets done downloading i get the choices open, open folder, cancel iv tried all of them. None of them do anything except close the download window, Then i find where i saved the program and click on it and all it does is open multiple internet explores and i have to shut down my computer to stop it. how can i get it so i am able to extract the files to use blender?

A:downloading something and the program only opens and closes internet explores

It sounds like something is horribly wrong with what ever you actually downloaded.
it should not respond or do what you are describing,
->> that is responding like nasty malware usually does...
I would stop trying to open it and tell us the full name of exactly what you downloaded,
with the link to where you got it from.
when you download something like that you should manually scan it with an anti-virus program.

A:Black SOD's & program lockups while browsing or downloading-Win7 64bit

You have a lot of strange issues going on.
The fastest way to get up and running again is a repair install. You wont lose any programs or documents.

Repair Install

I see you have done this already, a clean install twice.

Okay then, does event viewer under system show any disk error events?

Try replacing your sata cables.

Does the issue occur in safe mode?

Can you try updating your bios?

hi. 2 nights in a row my machine has shut down instantly whilst i have been downloading many torrents via utorre### and playing skyrim or within seconds of closing down skyrim. to start up the machine i have to switch of the psu and unplug it. then plug it back in and witch it on. i have experienced these types of crashes before on a diferent machine. a have a sturdy 1000w psu. and even though i have multi tasked these two programs before. this is the beginning of a bad day.

is this normal?

thank you for your time and patience.

A:instant shutdown whilst downloading via p2p program and playing skyrim

That behavior is not normal. It may indicate a power supply failure or other hardware failure. Run some hardware checks. If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:SSD firmware
BIOS Version
Chipset Drivers
Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

Run all but the advanced tests with SeaTools for HDDs.SeaTools for Windows

SeaTools for DOS
Monitor temperatures during the following tests. Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures. Real Temp is a good CPU temperature monitor.
Speccy - System Information - Free Download will monitor all hardware temperatures.
HWiNFO, HWiNFO32 & HWiNFO64 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools can be inaccurate for CPU temperatures, but is a good program for GPU temperature monitoring.
Use FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net to test the graphics card GPU. Let it run until the GPU temperatures even out or until the GPU temperatures reach a dangerous level (you can find the max temperature for your card on either the nVidia or AMD sites; if you are not sure, ask us). The goal is to get a steady temperature, find out if the GPU is overheating, or to see if there are any artifacts present in the test itself: look for strange pixelated patterns on the screen or colors that do not look like they belong. Then use the |MG| Video Memory Stress Test 1.7.116 Download to test your graphics card memory. Let the memory test run for at least seven passes; the more the better.

Run Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95 to determine any hardware problems. Run all three tests for a few hours each. If you get errors, stop the test and post back here.

Follow the steps for doing CPU stress test using IntelBurnTest

Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

   Warning
Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!
For Part 3: If You Have Errors: If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:Shut down and turn off your computer.
Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.
Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

Hi All,

I'm having problems with several programs that I am afraid are related to a virus.

Nero 12 platinum will not start at all (even after an un-install, restart and then re-install).

Eudora while working, clicking a link causes a window to open requiring switching to a running program, but there isn't a program that's running that would block the link.

Cannot start Internet Explorer, click shortcut, nothing happens.

My home network has been acting fluky, Cannot connect to my NAS as anything other than a media player.

As of now, I haven't found any other problems. A scan with AVG Free (2014) finds no viruses

Ad-aware found some issues but they were cleaned up

Spy-bot found some issues and I allowed it to clean those up as well.

Hope someone can start me in the right direction to solving this problem!!

Thanks

A:Multiple program problems

A follow-up..

These problems persist in Safe Mode as well, so I assume it's not a driver issue.

10-14-13

Yet another follow-up. I have 2 accounts on this machine, the Admin one (mine)

and a secondary one for the family. I cannot log on to the secondary acct. I received

an error message stating that "Group Policy Client failed at logon"

I also noted that I forgot to mention that this is a Win 7 Ultimate set-up.

Thanks again

A bunch of things started happening about the same time with my pc. Outlook Express sometimes freezes when I click on a hotlink in a message and does not open the browser. My IE7 browser often freezes and has to be shut down. Usually this happens when a second window or tab is open. I also have Firefox and it will also occasionally say an error has occured and it has to shut down. If more than one Word XP file is open, both will just disapear when you click on one in the bottom tray. And for the first time ever the other day Adobe Photoshop gave a message that an error had occured and it shut down. These have to be connected somehow. Help? I don't know where to start.

Howdy.

I've ran Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, and AVG Free 8.0, and neutralized what they've detected.

However, I'm still getting random pop-ups, and I have no idea what could be causing it.

Any help is appreciated.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.alternate download link 1alternate download link 2Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Hello all Normally I'm able to find a thread that discusses any problem I may be having but I have a rather unique issue today I recently did a fresh install of Windows SP on a HP Pavilion laptop The install went well but I ran into an issue when I installed GameMaker Standard It is an old game creation program that I still like using for sprite creation I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling reinstalling to a new directory and even copying the install folder from my old computer but no matter what I do the program will open new windows repeatedly until the computer runs out of memory or I find a way to shut it down Each window creates a new process called Game Maker exe but there is always one process running called GameMaker exe If I end that process from the Task Manager it stops and I can opens once Program windows multiple is run .exe when close windows until I only have one copy of the program running The tricky part is that process is reopened each time a new Game Maker exe thread is started meaning I have to have impeccable timing if I want to actually stop the program from sucking all my RAM Otherwise I get Program opens multiple windows when .exe is run once an error Program opens multiple windows when .exe is run once stating that the thread can't be closed because it no longer exists I uploaded a screenshot of Task Manager during this slightly hilarious mess I think that the auto-updater is the issue but there is no setting to turn it off Also to make this even more ridiculous I should probably mention that this is happening on my home computer which is the exact same model and OS as my travel computer on which there is no error I even have the same start bar configuration and desktop background on both computers I doubt that anyone here has ever heard of Game Maker let alone experienced this problem so I am looking for a workaround instead of a specific solution I am wondering if there is any sort of program or command that will freeze all active applications so I can go in and shut down the process at fault without it trying to play Hide-and-Go-Seek Any other workarounds you can think of would be welcome Right now I am starting the program waiting for it to open around windows then force restarting Windows The thread at fault is shut down first and I can stop the restart before the rest of the windows close It works but it is still a pain I don't use Game Maker that often but I would still like to know if there's anything I can do to fix it

You are about to read some bad English and I am really sorry about it. I am not a native English speaker.
Good evening guys,

So my question is as the title says Is there is any program that let me change my folder/program or anything else to multiple permissions instead of just giving the user control of only of one permission i.e. grant administrator permission

What I want is give the user 2 to 3 choices what they want to do with the folder/program means they want to become a trusted installer of the current folder or they want to become a administrator or they want to become a simple user with all permission.

Is there is any program that can do this or any script that can do this!!

Hi. I'm looking for a program for Win 8 that can fit files and folders to multiple DVDs and minimize free space. It should be able to split folders but preferably not files. I'd like to avoid using an archiving program except for files that are larger than a DVD.

I tried some programs found online, but they can only split files while folders must stay intact. Others can only split one folder at a time. Finally, I tried the disc spanning feature in some burning software but they don't appear to be efficient in minimizing free space. I sampled one and for the first disc it used 4 GB. I did things manually and for the first disc I was able to use 4.475 GB.

Hello,
I have a problem,
I have multiple instances of same program(exe file) in the processes, even though there's supposed to be only one or none.
This never happened to me before and yeah, its not too good for my cpu, since it's usage is increased.
here's some pictures from task manager[note: none of these programs are opened in so many instances, for ex, Winrar is closed]:

Can I fix it without reinstalling windows?

This is a free software and if my memory serves me, you can remove duplicate files.
Make sure you back up your system first.

A:Multiple versions of same program installed

Some programs may detect older versions installed and ask you or automatically remove the older version before installing. But other programs do not act this way. So a better approach is when you install a new software you should check and uninstall older or different versions first. You can always go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the older un-needed versions. You can uninstall the trial version of Office Student. If that changes some file opening or association behavior, then you can perform a repair install of Office Enterprise. You need all .NET versions because you never know which software is using which version of .NET. So keep all the versions and the security fixes. Hotfixes are needed to protect you from known vulnerabilities, so do not uninstall them.

YOu can turn it off in Excel, under Tools-Options (I forget which tab, View?) and then uncheck "windows in taskbar".

They never did put an option to turn it off for Word. It's a FEEECHER. LOL

XP allows the option in both Word and Excel.

Hi,

I am currently having a network card with multiple IPs running Windows Server 2003.

Let's say that I want one program to do all its network communication with one ip and another program to use one of the other ips - how could I accomplish this?

A:Multiple IPs: Assign certain IP to specific program

That'll really only work inbound. Initiated connections [outbound] won't do so well, especially UDP (source IP will be first bound NIC)

For inbound, you simply make the service only listen on that IP.

For example: You can bind an IIS site to a specific IP, so now only port 80 is listening on a specific iP.

I am looking for a program like DOSBox that I can run multiple instances of to enable me to run multiple instances of a single modern windows program on XP or other version that is by artificial nature alone a program that only allows you to run one-of-one instance. Sort of something to prevent me having to run a virtual OS just to open a second instance of this one-of-one allowed program. It allows one, i want to run two. I just lack the language of what I am looking for... any ideas specific or general?

A:run multiple instances of a single program

VM is the only way I 'am aware of.
