I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I installed Microsoft Flight Simulator X (GOLD Edition with Accelerator) yesterday, and have been running it. It runs well on my dual Intel 200 GHz processors and 4 GB of memory.

However, the Weather function does not work. I can set the 'User Defined Weather' but when I run the flight, it has no effect. All I ever get are blue skies but I want to shoot instrument (IFR) approaches.

Is there something special that I need to do to make the Weather function work?
Does it work on other versions of Vista? (I have the Vista Home Premium 64bit version)

Thanks, Gerry

Whatever joystick you do end up getting be sure to get one that has a rudder control. (ie you can rotate the joystick to control the rudder).

I had an old joystick that wont work on my new comp (it lacks the port) lol and I bought a new one to play crimson skies. I've been so frustrated cause it doesnt have the rudder and I'm having to use 2 of the buttons to control it.

I use FSX since 2006. I had no problem until few months ago. I had at the time Window 7. The program started occasionnaly
shutting down while being in flight. The situation worsened in frequency when I switched to Window 10 up to a point the program shuts down on almost every flights. I thought for a moment that one of the loading DVD had become defective but it is not
the case cause I dowloaded the one of friend and the problem arose almost immediately.
Can someone help me? I am wondering if the problem could be a sudden overheating of the video card due to its malfunction

(defect). Your suggestions will be welcomed.

I just purchased MS Flight Simulator X however after reading the early reviews at Amazon I wonder if I X PC and Microsoft Flight compatibility Simulator should break the Microsoft Flight Simulator X and PC compatibility seal on the box Even though my PC more than meets the minimum requirements I m not sure it s powerful enough Microsoft Flight Simulator X and PC compatibility to adequately handle MSFS X Dell Dimension gigahertz Intel Pentium Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space Megabytes Installed Memory kilobyte primary memory cache kilobyte secondary memory cache DDR ATI Radeon Pro w TV-Out Display adapter DDR ATI Radeon Pro w TV-Out Sec Display adapter Proview AY C Monitor quot vis s n April Creative Audigy Audio Processor WDM Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device Windows XP Professional Service Pack build The minimum requirements are Windows XP SP - MB GHz processor GB hard drive DirectX hardware compatibility and audio card with speakers and or headphones DirectX c compliant video card with mb of ram and support for hardware transformation and lighting Actually I care much more about scenery than I do about the mechanical aspects of flying so if it would make sense to do so I d be willing to cut back significantly on flight performance in order to achieve the highest possible visual effects I figure I m at least a year away from buying a new PC so I m thinking maybe I should return my copy of MSFS X and wait another year or so to purchase it perhaps at a reduced price Of course by that time maybe I d be better off just to wait until the next version of MSFS would be released On the other hand I could try running MSFS X on my DELL and even if it doesn t work well I would already have it when I get my next PC However if I can be convinced that it definitely would not work satisfactorily on my present system then I would prefer returning it for a refund I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who could help me make the correct decision Thank you nbsp

I have installed Combat Flight Simulator on my windows 7 (64 bit) HP computer. The program appears to be working properly, however. my vintage Logitech Wingman Attack joystick does not have a USB connector. It appears that modification of this joystick to work on the windows 7 unit is not as logical as buying a new item.

I would appreciate any comments on the use of this program on a windows 7 computer and recommendations for a new basic (inexpensive) joystick that is compatible with this setup.

The PC was built by Scan Computers, Bolton, England just over a year ago and has been fine until the last few weeks. Today was the worst with 3 BSODs in 30 minutes.

I use the PC exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Whilst taxiing out to the runway and 15 minutes later (after a reboot) when on the runway I had 2 BSODs. Both showed the same message:-

MULTIPLE IRP COMPLETE REQUESTS with STOP code 0x00000044.

I believe this could be related to hardware drivers and I do have a lot of USB devices attached but no more than were previously attached to my previous PC running XP and that never gave me a BSOD.

Please find attached the files requested. I hope they help diagnose the problem.

A:BSOD when using Microsoft Flight Simulator X

An update... I ran driver verifier and after a reboot I received another blue screen with the following message...

The error code this time was C9 and part of the message read?

? The IO manager has detected a violation by a driver that is being verified. Faulty driver must be debugged and replaced with a working version.?

I allowed Windows to restore and I?m attaching the 2 files that may help pinpoint the cause. The fact that I got this type of message is encouraging. It looks like Validator may have trapped something.

I installed MS Flight Sim 2002 Pro on my new, built by me, computer. On my Dell 8300 it runs fine.

On my new computer, I open it and it goes to the title screen with the 747 on it. Next, the screen of the sim decreases. At the reduced screen, which I don't want (I want a full size screen), I select my aircraft. When I click "Fly Now", the sim minimizes!!!!! Then it takes several tries to get it to come back to full screen.

Can someone PLEASE help me?

A:IE9 & Microsoft Flight Simulator, NVIDIA GUI's slow to load

Try running IE9 without Add-ons, see if it loads normally. If yes then one or more Add-ons are the problem.

The easiest way to try this is Windows key + R to get a Run box then type iexplore -extoff and press Enter. See how long it takes to load. If it makes a difference then use Tools / Manage Add-ons in IE9 to disable them a few at a time until you find the culprit.

A:Problem Uninstalling Then Reinstalling Microsoft Flight Simulator X

It's okay that you posted it in the newsgroups, that's a different forum. This one is specifically for the Vistax64 forums while the other one is a public MS forum on another site, and it's just been integrated into here for convenience.

Now, I don't know what to say about the programs not being listed in "Programs and Features" in the control panel. Some games do not ask to put a Desktop icon and may or may not do it automatically. Also, some games have a tick box that asks if you want program shortcuts in your Start menu, maybe you missed those as your were pressing Next during the install.

On the reinstall issue, my guess is that you deleted some entries in the registry that should not have been deleted. Your best bet here would be to do a System Restore to a point before you started messing with the registry.
Note (this is to everyone): While you may want your registry to be as clean and as tidy as possible by deleting all previous game and program entries yourself, it is usually never a good idea. Ever... unless you know exactly what you are deleting. "But it say [insert name of game here] in the registry and i uninstalled it ages ago." It doesn't matter, you will usually do more harm than good. If you must, use a good, known, recommended registry cleaner to clean your registry and leave it at that.

I have made the mistake of running adware and spybot S&D without checking for uninstall programs in the control panel. They removed the spyware/adware, but didn't remove the uninstall programs and now with the files gone, it will not let me delete those files (or obviously run the uninstall). I was wondering if there is another way to remove those programs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:removing programs from add/remove in the control panel

what i reccomend is getting atleast the trial version of WinTools.net run it and within the program [a very user friendly interface] you can select the programs from the Add/Remove programs list and delete them from the list. this is also helpful for deleting files out of there you do not want uninstalled by mistake from that list i.e. windows updates

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff800030f7e11, The address that the exception occurred at

So, I jost got this got this game, but when I try to launch an installation it sais" Checking requirements, Configuring Windows installer" and then "1607:Unable to install installshield Scripting Runtime" pops up. I am authorized enough to install things. I tried searching for solution myself, done simplier things from what I found, but that didn't helped.
Any help would be appreciated

While viewing a listing of installed programs on my laptop via the Control Panel, I noticed there were many Windows XP Software Updates (that had been installed). Question: could these updates be removed from the control panel, or would doing so remove them from my computer?

I know that removing other programs listed really does remove them, but as each item shows "installed on XXXXX" instead of the usual info about size, etc. thought I'd ask about removing the updates as they DO take up space.

Thanks for any assistance.

I have read that either certain optical drives that are made to bypass copy protection won't work in Windows, or certain disks won't work in those special drives. Have you tried returning the discs for a refund or replacement in case they are bad? Or have you tried the discs in another computer?

Recently purchased flight simulator X and initially worked well. When I try to start the program the response I get is program not responding. Somtimes I get a message that it can't be run simultaneously and that it is already running. Another message I get when I start the computer is something in the memory has been illegally moved. Does this sound familiar and what should I try to resolve this??

A:Flight simulator X

More then likely the reason your Flight simulator isnt working correctly is due to a recent update that kinda goofed up the Realtek Audio Controllers. Here is the info at this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925902 If that is the error you are getting at startup run that.

Service Pack 1 and 2 before he even opened up the game the first time. Now when you try to open it, it says it can't find mssxml4 sp2. It says to reinstall. We have uninstalled and reinstalled and it still won't open. The laptop has Vista and was a Christmas present with the game. Should we reformat the hard drive to try and get rid of everything.

MY opinion: Best joystick for FSX is the Saitek X52 Pro. Best price will require some shopping around.
I personally get along just fine in FSX with the Logitech Force 3D Pro. Well under $50 at any number of shops...Compusa, BestBuy, Circuit City, Walmart etc.

Hello,
I'm having trouble installing Flight Simulator X.
After I put in the serial code, the program indicates that "Airbus Series Vol. 1 (FS X)'s files will be installed in the following directory ;
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

When I click "Next" then this appears ;
Cannot install this program, please select your correct Flight Simulator X directory.

What do I have to do to install this game ? I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

Thanks

A:Flight Simulator X

This may seem really patronising, so sorry if it does, but are you sure you have bought the full game and not just an add-on (Airbus Series Vol. 1)?

If I am in the wrong place, please let me know where I can go to get some help with my problem.

I have everything I need as far as RAM, HD space, video card, and of course the software. Using Windows XP Pro. I do not have a joystick, so use keyboard. Problem, I just can not make the planes fly or do much of anything they are supposed to do. Is there anyone that can give me some pointers to get me started? I have been working with this since March, just not having any luck. If I could get through a whole flight just one or two times it sure would help. I have tried following the instructions in the little book, also printed out a manual, tried doing the flight with I think it is instructor training, just am getting nowhere.

Thanks

I installed FSX on my Windows 8 Developers Preview to see if it would work. When trying to open FSX after the installation, the splashscreen would appear and a few seconds later the infamous "Microsoft Flight Simulator has stopped working" message would appear.

I went through the event log and the faulting module seems to be kernelbase.dll, which explains that FSX is not compatible with windows 8 out of the box. Has anyone managed to find a workaround for this?

A:Flight Simulator 2004

Although I've found that the startup routine can find the FS CD even when it is in the wrong drive, do be sure you have placed it in the same drive you installed it from, if you have more than one.

If you have WinXP also check the Administrative Tools > Event viewer log for errors. You may find something either under System or Applications.

humm just a guess but was it installed under administrative account?
with other accounts permited to use it.. because that "run as" is asking what account you wish to run it with..

Edit: also check the properties of the short cut is the "target" right? does it point to the right location and exe file?..

Hello Flight Simulater will not run under windows XP as it is bringing up a message saying

Software 3D Enabled (In the title bar)

Safe mode has been enabled because your system is currently unable to use hardware acceleration. While in Safe mode, you will be able to run Flight Simulator and troubleshoot hardware issues, but performance and display quality will be affected. Product Support safe mode. For more information, see the Readme, Which is available from the flight simulator link in windows start menu.

Then a OK Button is displaed

The Graphics card is a Nvidia graphics card.

However, I am really confused about this, I downloaded (at least I think I did) SP2 from Microsoft, and when I went to system information, it said SERVICE PACK 1. But, I downloaded the demo and its perfectly working. The big question is, do I have service pack 2?

When I installed Windows 10 none of my flight sims (2004 - FSX) worked properly along with all my hidden object games by Big Fish. So I went back to Windows 7, however, it did not fix all of the problems. Some of the items did not work correctly on
FSX and I cannot open FS2004, it keeps asking me to sign in as the administrator.
Any recommended fixes?

I am re-installing MS Flight simulator Deluxe edition and it claims that there is something wrong with my Windows Installer .... which there is nothing worng with it. I have seen a number of these complaints on several forums. I have cleaned out every instance of the program from my cpu but it still won't re-install. I even downloaded windows installer and re-installed it. But nothing has worked so far. What is happening? Can anyone tell me how to fix? I installed the program the first time and everything worked "great". But I had to remove the program and re-install it and it doesn't get past a point where the messages all have to do with Windows Installer ....

I'm at the point in the FSX installation where I need to insert DVD 2. I do this. I now click okay.

The prompt comes back! I have the disk inserted but it doesn't see it! I know the disk works because I've checked it on a different computer. I can even go into the DVD on this computer and it works but FSX install isn't accepting it.

What should I do? I need to get this up and running quickly.

System specs:

Vista Ultimate
AMD Athlon x2 64 4800
2 Gigs of ram
320 Gig hard drive

Recently,my HP has started locking up when flying in FS9. There is no method to its madness. It will freeze, and keep looping the sound. I have to press the power button on the PC to get it to do anything. Could it be over heating?

A:Flight Simulator locks up.

Hello,

If you can trace the problem to a certain date, the first step is a system restore. Read this tutorial: System Restore

If you think your system is overheating, test your temperatures with Speedfan.

With that stick can I control all airplanes in fsx (exclude helicopters)? I'm refering to small planes and also Boeing 747's. Or...should I purchase a kit with throttle and steering wheel. Also, the link includes 2 parts, one is the joystick, and can someone confirm if the second one (first in picture) is the throttle?

If the stick mentioned above isn't suitable, how about:

Which simulator has better graphics? Which runs better on a slower computer?

A:Flight Simulator X vs. X-Plane 9

Hi there,
i would recommend normal flight simulator Deluxe addition. Not the better version of it, gold addition. But may i alert you that when you install flight simulator it will slow down your computer and other game except your flight simulator.
I hope this helped

Hello, How are you?

I would like to buy a Saitek ST290 or Saitek Evo Wireless for Flight Simulator X. Anybody knows or have experience with these sticks?
I know that one of the best stick for Flight is X52 but I have no money to buy one of that, because here in Brazil, it cost converting to US$, more or less, about US$ 1.020,00 or R$ 1.899,00. It is so expensive for us.
So, I am thinking to buy these ones that I wrote before.

Thanks

This program says that it is for office but works with many other things
if they used a MSI installer.
You didn't mention the game but many use this installer so this may help.

Hi. Haven't used the program in a while, loaded back on my computer. When I try to start the game, all I get is a black screen, which I have to ctl alt del to get out of. Following are specs.

XP Home, SP2
P4, 1500 MHZ
512mb Ram
2GB virtual
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 64 mb ram
80GB HD, 65% available

I have updated video driver in past 3 weeks. I also have DirectX 9, got this error message when I ran dxdiag

Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 32 (User verification of Direct3D rendering): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)

Had a black screen during this step, no spinning cube. I have redownloaded DirectX9 a few times, with firewall and virus program disabled during download and installation, but keep getting message that I have the the latest files.

Any help appreciated.

TIA,
Bill
