I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi guys, I am the lucky owner of an Acer Revo R3600.I would love to have some support because I installed Windows Server 2008 and I am using the software that Acer provides to install the drivers of the Atheros network adapter. Although the installion appears to be plain, and the adapter seems to be recognized and working, it's not shown when I try to create connections, so I have no way to access my wi-fi. Any ideas?

I am very interested in this product, but it seems to have not experienced a very wide release.  That is, there are very limited places you can buy it, which makes me worry about the modules.  Also, are there any higher end models?  For example, if I wanted a faster processor?  Is there an eSATA module that supports port multiplier?  Lastly, what is the max RAM possible?  Thank you very much in advance.

Your PC can handle Office if your documents will not have big size databases or excel tables. About 2010 vs 2013 newer is better and since you have Windows 7 (i suppose from what you wrote), it's fully compatible.

Hello there I seem to have a problem with my Acer Revo R which I cant seem to solve myself Ive been trying for a week now and have decided to seek outside help so thanks for taking the time to listen to or read about my issue Right I Revo Acer Bootmgr problem. missing? turned on my Revo and left the house Bootmgr missing? Acer Revo problem. to do a bit of shopping Upon returning I discovered that the Revo was on Startup Repair So I followed the instructions to repair the issue that was restricting the Revo from fully booting However I soon discovered that I was stuck within the Startup Repair infinite loop where upon completion the Revo Bootmgr missing? Acer Revo problem. would reboot and encouter the same issue I decided that I would just reinstall windows as I didnt have anything of value saved to the hard drive The Revo does not have an optical drive so using a bootable usb was my only option I stuck the usb in and booted the pc Pressed F for Boot options and selected the usb which had my Windows bit When the setup was ready and I could select the hard drive and partitons to edit and use I deleted the partions and then reformatted the drive thinking I was clever hopefully removing any malware or viruses When this completed I proceeded to install Windows However the installion failed It had copied the files across to the hard drive but would not expand the windows files Sometimes I would get blue screen other times I received and error and explanation I will try and again to get this information and sometimes it would be stuck in limbo not doing anything So after a couple of attempts I decided perhaps my copy of windows has been corrupted I have a copy of Ubuntu LTS on a bootable usb which I then decided to use This didnt work either it just freezes when I try to install however I can boot from the usb and use Ubuntu I just cant install After getting a bit frustrated I decided to try windows again This time I forgot to hit F and select usb The computer began to boot from the hard drive but suddenly a message appeared quot Bootmgr is missing Press Ctrl Alt delete to reboot quot And thus I am stuck within an eternal loop of misery I hope someone can help any advice would be invaluable and sorry for the long story PS I was thinking of upgrading the Hard drive to a larger one If i did this could I just fit the hard drive boot the Revo with my usb and reinstall windows Or is it a little bit more complicated than that Thanks docdoc

(Posting for a friend who has this hardware model.)Have an Acer Aspire Revo R3700 with Intel Atom D525 chipset type.  To the best of knowledge, all drivers & BIOS have been updated to the latest & greatest available for download from Acer.com. Received a 4TB external USB hard drive for Christmas for use with the Revo as a secondary data drive, but when plugged in, Windows (Win7 x64 SP1) Disk Management only recognizes it as a 2TB drive.  It's been initialized using GPT scheme, but that made no difference.  Also tried converting it to a Dynamic disk, but that made no difference. Wondering if there's an unreconcilable hardware limitation that's preventing OS from recognizing the full physical size of the disk.  Or, anything else that can be looked at/tried to fix this. Thanks

I have this device with windows 10 and have a powered USB hub connected to one of the USB ports.  I then have 4 x 2TB external USB Hard drives connected to the USB hub. All 4 work problem free inside windows 10.I have an additional 2TB drive to add, so connected it to the USB hub.The drive itself spins up and sounds like its all working fine, however windows 10 on the REVO will not detect the drive. If I unplug any one of the other drives, the new drive is detected and works. Is this a windows 10 limitation or a REVO linitation (I know its not the powered USB hub, and I know the drive itself works without issue)

be aware that your USB hub can have a power limitation, even if has an external power adapter. check also drivers letter assignment: connect all your drivers then presswindows logo key + xDisk managementwait a while and check if all your drivers have a letter assigned if not, try to assign one to the latest.

If you haven't made any changes to the hardware part (CPU, GPU, RAM) it should run fine. The problem must be from the software if you ask me. Try reinstalling the windows and divide the HDD to 2 parts C,D or C,E; C,F etc. and install the windows on C and all the software you use on D,F,E,etc.

I have a new Revo RL85 which has been slow to respond to various tasks and the Internet is crawling at a snail's pace! I have other PCs including my iPhone 6, which have been absolutely fine. I have already reset the Revo, hoping that it would resolve the issues but I lost a large number of Apps including the Acer ones. I tried to reset again tonight and after I tried to recover my PC it stated "Could not find the recovery environment. Insert your windows installation or recovery media, and restart your PC.Unfortunately, foolishly I did not make a backup so I have a feeling that this is going to be an expensive mistake!Any suggestions please?

i got this keyboard on ebay for my sons wii. it works great with the wii except for some of the "fn" keys are locked. some of the alpha keys have blue icons for numbers and other functions....when I hit the 'fn' key with the numlock key...all it does it lock the numbers assigned to those alpa keys. I cannot use the letters, U<I<O<P<J<K<L<:<M....instead i get 4,5,6,*,1,2,3,0.

I tried customer support w acer and they wont give support for this unless you own the computer. i just need to know what the magic combination is so i can un-"function" these functions.

of course this was a christmas present and there is an anxious kid awaiting it's use

A:acer revo wireless keyboard keys are locked

It sounds like its defective in some way and you certainly didnt get what you paid for.If acer wont help you i dont know what else you can do unless you can contact the seller from ebay and see if they will refund your money and make things right.

Hello All This is my first post here I have an Acer Aspire Revo R that I bought years ago It is running WinXP and it came with it installed I did not install a different OS over what the stock installation This PC has been running hangs Revo Acer Aspire R1600 WinXP fine for the past years Then all of a sudden it starts having issues where it will freeze up or hang I ll try to open a window and it will just clock I get no error messages Acer Aspire Revo R1600 WinXP hangs I thought it might be a virus but I had Avast Pro installed and performed a full system scan and found no issue The problem got so bad that I cannot open any windows at all I could not even do CTL-ALT-DEL to get the task manager The clock on the start bar would also not update So I did a full factory reset But even during the install when it tries to install the updates it will also hang I would again need to do a hard reboot I ve done this a few times now and it takes about reboots to finish the system update process and get me a point where I can try to work on the issue I ve read in other posts that I need to change in the HDD settings in BIOS from SATA to Native IDE I ve done that and did a fresh factory reset again but the problem persists I ve gone safe mode and it seems that I have better luck being able to do things I ve also read that the NVIDIA drivers need to be updated or replaced I ve gone into add remove programs and removed all the NVIDIA drivers but the problem persists Is there some other issue I could be having Like a failing HDD or memory or even CPU Motherboard Any help would be appreciated nbsp

A:Acer Aspire Revo R1600 WinXP hangs

Unless you changed something which caused the problem, you don't need to change anything. You will likely just end up making things worse.

As it also doesn't work in Safe Mode and you have performed a Restore. The most likely cause would be faulty hardware. The typical causes would be the RAM, HDD, motherboard, or power supply.

EDIT: Could also be heat. When was the last time it was cleaned?

You can test the RAM using Memtest86. You can test the HDD using the drive manufacturers disk tools.

You could also check Windows Event Viewer to see if Windows is logging any errors.

Hi all, Two questions on a fairly new model that appears to have little information available from Acer or the wider Internet... The M1-601 Nettop (Sold on ebuyer.com in UK as M1601). 1. I installed Ubuntu 15.10 and have had some trouble with - Sound not working via the headphone jack - Instability with the graphics adapter causing a stack trace and then a blank screen while sshd still allows connections- General instability - nothing in /var/log  2. I had hoped to be able to set the power option to resume last state after power failure as this is intended to run 24x7 - but the BIOS is locked - any clues? With thanksIan

If you do not own a Revo one computer, you do not need to login.  If you do not own an Acer Revo One, you can uninstall the Acer drive software to get rid of this message. I am including a link below with instructions.

I been using Revo for a couple of uninstalls and have a Revo Uninstaller question about the procedure I could not find a reference to in the help I used the moderate default process to uninstall AdAware This process uses the normal Add Remove Programs sequence then scans the registry and files for remnants of the program The question relates to when the normal uninstall finishes there a box checked to restart the computer Of course this is expected when using normal uninstall I unchecked the Restart box and Revo proceeded to do the remaining scans The uninstall went well and everything looks good I still had to delete the Lavasoft folder from Program Files although it was empty and the Lavasoft entry in Revo Uninstaller Start Programs menu If I had left the Restart box checked and windows did restart when I clicked quot Finish quot would Revo have still Revo Uninstaller performed the registry and files scans I gotta wonder if I had allowed the restart if there would have been less files detected on the registry scans entries and the files about Anybody got a clue Raybro nbsp

I just uninstalled some unwanted software using the Revo Uninstaller Rhapsody which came with an mp player I just got and decided I didn't need this software Revo was recommended to me by some members here so I have a few questions The first screen that come up has a list of quot modes quot Revo Uninstaller Built in Safe Moderate and Advanced As you probably know the quot Moderate quot mode is Revo Uninstaller ticked by default so that's what Revo Uninstaller I used In the process some files came up to be deleted which I assume were temp files associated with Rhapsody so I ticked Revo Uninstaller them all and deleted them Then a registry entry came HKEY something don't remember what and then a file attached to it I didn't know whether to select both HKEY and the file so I left that alone When such an option appears do you just highlight the file or everything including HKEY I'm not sure if it was Local Machine Users or whatever should have made a screen shot At any rate everything seems to be running OK Is Revo smart enough to only delete unneeded files and what mode is recommended Thanks Fred

Hi
I'm looking for some basic networking help please, i'm pretty competent around computers but when it comes to networking it's like doing Algebra!
There are 3 PC's in the house, all on W7, all connecting wirelessly. I also have an Acer Revo which I use as my media center, this is connected to my router through homeplugs and has 2 external HDD's attached to it.
I want to set the Revo up as a dedicated nas so that I can access the media on the HDD's and also use them to store back ups from the other 3 PC's over the air.
All the PC's are in the same homegroup and I have no problem with basic file sharing but I have no idea where to go next to set up the Revo as described.
Any help in simple terms would be much appreciated!!
Thanks
Jeff

A:Revo as dedicated NAS

Make sure the Revo has a static IP to the router and the router has virtual server running the wireless and the lan ports. Then it's just case of sharing the required folder on the Revo and mapping network drives on the other machines to that folder.

OK well I looked up the Acer Drive, I am not sure if it was something that came as a part of your system... However I nstalled the Acer drive. Then I wanted to check. If you go to Control Panel Programs and then Look for Acer Drive, you can uninstall it.. Or faster way is to click the start button. Then go to all apps Then acer, Then right click Acer drive and pick uninstall. Then it will take you to the Area stated above and then click to uninstall it and the problem of that pop up should go away after your next restart...  Sorry I didn't know as I haven't ever installed the program before today...  Hope this HelpsJames

Using the free, portable version. When I run the program, it doesn't show all the
installed programs. One, in particular, that is missing is the AMD Catalyst Install Manager. Recycled the program I had and D/L again. Same result.
Anyone else have the same situation ?

Revo doesn't recognize or look for 64bit programs. Programs and Features would list them for the uninstall.

Once I uninstalled via Revo. It might have been Adobe Flash or Sun Java. When I scanned Programs and Features, it was still listed. Turned out the 32bit was uninstalled while the 64bit remained installed.

Hello,

and what would be the difference in the two?

A:Ccleaner Or Revo

Revo is strictly an uninstaller. It does a good job of uninstalling difficult programs and more thorough job than the program's uninstaller.

CCleaner is most useful in quickly cleaning up temporary files on the system and multiple programs. It does have a listing of programs
similar to Windows and you can uninstall from that list. It has other tools such as the one you can use to control what programs and add-ons
load at boot time.

Revo is a very good Uninstaller, as far as I can remember the Pro version has registry cleaning. If you're into that, it's worth it. Have you tried Your Uninstaller 2010, it's a pretty decent program.

Hi

Revo Uninstaller is not working properly and it has also been flagged up constantly by Programme Compatibilty Assistant. I have to re-install; what is the best way to do this to ensure that it is compatible with 32bit Windows 7 Home Premium?

Thanks....

A:Revo Uninstaller

Revo works fine here on Win7 Ultimate x64.
Uninstall it and then download it from here: Revo Uninstaller - Reviews and free Revo Uninstaller downloads at Download.com

When setting up the computer my IT person said I wouldn't need it and that it was an add on piece of software. However it asks me everytime I turn on my computer to log in to Revo One. And I don't feel that I am getting the most out of my computer because I'm not using it. Where can I find the login or setup page please?

Is there a way to fully remove the Revo Uninstaller program?
I imagine they leave something behind that a normal uninstall will not detect.
Is there a free software application similar to Revo?
I hear IObit Uninstaller is bad.

A:Revo Uninstaller

Revo Uninstaller is a good, trusted product....and is also free (unless you need the attributes provided by the paid version)

It performs its task admirably and is recommended by many of the helpers here at BC, as well as being hosted in our downloads section HERE

The differences between the Free and the Paid ...can be found HERE

To remove Revo simply go to Programs and Features in control panel and uninstall it there. As far as I know it leaves no residue. if it does, this will be of no consequence.

Is there a specific reason you want to get rid of it.??

Wasn't sure where to put this but here goes, running windows 8.1 64 bit on this new machine and would like to know if the Revo uninstaller program is alright to use on this machine, I have it on my older XP home machine and like it.
Thanks

A:Revo uninstaller

should be fine. They (revo) say on their site it's fine for 8.1.

A:Revo one not connected!

Hi darkov,

Could you provide us with a screenshot of the error your getting? The Revo One is a device, but I'm not sure what the connection message is about either at this time.

Hi Guys I was trying to trace a small issue with my pc and narrowed it down to the latest Revo-Uninstaller java so I went about uninstalling that to roll back to the previous Revo-Uninstaller version I fired up Revo to uninstall via the aggressive mode the default installer ran then the registry search by revo which found related leftover registry files which I deleted then the leftover file scan which found files I deleted these stupidly without studying them and that seemed to be the end of it It was then I checked the recycle bin to clear out those files and noticed none where related to Java but all were google updater files including the updater exe related to the only google product I have which is chrome Needless to say chrome would no longer update from the about google chrome tab Luckily for me I hadnt emptied them from the recycle bin so restored the and alls well again but this is the first time ive seen Revo make a mistake on my systems Anyone seen this before as its damaged my trust in that program a little now Danny

A:Revo-Uninstaller

Hi Danny!
Please do not blame the software!
Because you have used aggressive scan, so the program used wider probability of finding the right keys for deletion. And as Revo user you know that you can install programs by Revo too, in that case the uninstaller would record all changes made to your system and in case of deletion, would delete only stuff it has logged. Second point would be that prior to do any changes to your system uninstaller would create restore point and full registry backup, so that you have double ability to restore your system. Thanks...

I was going to use revo uninstaller to do both a evidence remover and a junk files cleaner. The evidence remover says it deletes all the files that you delete out of your recycle bin. It says that it only says that it deletes them and it really doesn't. Is it okay to go ahead and let it delete all those files. Also the junk files cleaner says that it cleans all files that programs normally are supposed to do when they are done with them or when they are uninstalled. But sometimes they do not do it. I want to do both. But I want to ask if It is okay to before I do. Are both of those programs safe. I noticed that they both seemed to have quite a bit of stuff in them. Even though I do have a lot of space . I like to keep it as clean as possible.

Revo Uninstaller has a good reputation for removing leftover application files

Hello,

For anyone using the Revo Uninstaller program:

Always a bit leary with these kind of things, although this program has been around quite a while.

Am using the free version.

a. Any gotchas or things to be aware of when using the Remove Temp. Files
option ?

Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be a way to restore, or get back, anything it's "cleaned". Or an "Undo" function.
Is there ?

b. What's this Hunter Mode ? I read their help file, but still uncertain.

Any general thoughts on this program ?
Particularly, safety in using, etc. ?

Thanks,
Bob

A:Anyone Using Revo Uninstaller ?

Hello Bob,

Revo is a great tool, when used with a little caution. Generally speaking, it is a bad idea to delete files and registry entries you do not know about. It is rare, but sometimes these programs turn up false results, and if you delete everything haphazardly, eventually you will run into trouble.

The files it turns up are usually easy to identify, because they often have the product or manufacturer name in the path somewhere.

The registry entries are somewhat trickier, and for that reason, I would leave them, unless you really know what you are doing. The only way you could protect yourself is create a backup of the registry before, and labeling it clearly, in case anything goes wrong.

The Hunter Mode is for quickly locating the uninstaller for the program in question. You can just click somewhere in the program, and it will uninstall it for you.

Anything else you need to know?

Has anyone else noticed that there is no longer an offer for the free version of Revo Uninstaller on the Revo website. All that I can find is the Pro version which comes with a 30-day trial. Is it just me??

If this is true, I am totally bummed. Revo Uninstaller is awesome, but not "pay for it" awesome.

I have Revo uninstaller It looks like it's been mentioned a lot and recommended but I don't really like it because free Revo uninstallers and It offers modes on uninstallation I really don't know why anyone would choose anything but advanced Why wouldn't you want a complete uninstall and have all pieces of the program installed gone I had to stop when I go to the Found leftover registry items step It looks like the program has bolded everything it believes is part of the program I am trying to uninstall but it isn't sure Now it's asking me the end user free uninstallers and Revo to verify what I want removed How should I know I didn't make the program so I don't all the pieces of it I'm going to try something else If I was going to make an uninstaller program I would have it have record before the program was installed and after after it was installed states of the registry so it would know exactly what went into the registry and exactly what to take out Doesn't that seem to be the simplest most effective method of getting rid of it

A:free uninstallers and Revo

Hi

I think they like to give you a wider range of choice. It can 'see' some programs that Windows can't, and the modes will be to allow anyone not comfortable with editing the registry to avoid that step or customise how they delete the program. Not useful for a lot of people, but I suppose they wan't to appeal to as many people as they can.

I only ever delete the keys that are obvious. Like when I uninstalled Firefox, the key Mozilla was an obvious one to delete. If in doubt, it's best to leave it in there.

Hello everyone This is my first post so please bear with me I m also still a bit of a novice with computers but I will try to explain my problem correctly Here goes I m in the middle of using Revo to uninstall several old versions of Java I started with the earliest version listed in Add Remove programs which is Java Runtime Environment SE v Revo did the usual uninstall fine and then went through the PC finding all the leftover files Under HKEY CURRENT USER the Java Runtime Environment file folder- lists various versions from to the current one There isn t a version corresponding with the one I started with Part of my question is Is it ok for me to select the old versions for removal by Revo even though I started trying to remove v Or should With Trying Remove To Java Revo Old I do them individually working my way through those listed in Add Remove programs The same applies to Java Runtime Environment under HKEY LOCAL Trying To Remove Old Java With Revo MACHINE but something else has confused me here When I click on and expand any of the versions listed here it shows related files i e select v and it shows other files relating to that version However both versions and list files related to the current version which also has its own entry and all the listed files are identical to each other Which of the three versions do I select for removal or should I leave them all Maybe it would just be simpler to Trying To Remove Old Java With Revo remove all trace of Java and then re-install the latest version I hope I ve managed to explain myself ok If anyone has any suggestions they would be very much appreciated as this is driving me nuts Many thanks in advance A-K

A:Trying To Remove Old Java With Revo

Hello A-K and welcome.Removing entries from the registry can be dangerous. While revo is a great tool, I would use the add/remove function in control panel. It is true that you only need the latest Java runtime which is version 6 update 7. Once the other Java runtimes have been uninstalled you can just install the latest from http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
