I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My guess would be the video chip. If you are not getting it on either screen.

Ive tried to use the driver given here :

My laptop will not use the full amount of screen available.  I have reinstalled the graphics/video drivers and checked all display/resolution settings.
As you can see the right hand side of the screen is black and the bottom is black expect for the hiccup below the start button.
Any help or advice is much appreciated.

I am not sure what is wrong with my computer. It seems to charge fine (according to the light) and all the usual buttons light up on the keyboard when you turn it on. However, nothing shows up on the screen. I can hear the fan as well. I tried to connect it with a projector with the VGA port, it did not work either. Any help would be appreciated.

You may just have a loose cable connecting the display to the motherboard. Its can usually be found under the keyboard but I don't know if you are comfortable with doing this.

I think this is going to be a "loose wire" type hardware problem, but I'd appreciate any views on it.
The screen on my laptop (I think the specs are in my profile, but if you want more info just ask) has developed an irritating fault, where the leftmost 20% is lighter than the rest of the screen, so there is a pale haze over that area.
If I hit prt scrn then copy the screendump into e.g. Word, this haze is still there. (but if I copy it into Corel Photohouse it vanishes, which is an irrit, as I'm struggling to show you what it looks like) But I think I've managed to capture it using MGI Photosuite
Any suggestions?

I have an HP Pavilion 2000 299WM notebook. I switched out the RAM sticks (from 1GB to 2GB) and put everything back together and now my laptop will not start. Correction: it starts - the lights on the keyboard light up, but there is no display and no noise from my fan that starts with booting. Everything is plugged in to the mobo the correct way and all the parts are new or close to new and work. Why is there no display?

There is no DVD drive as it took a leave of absence 8 months ago, and the battery and HDD were just replaced. HDD is running Linux and Windows, but that does not affect my display. I hooked up an external monitor and still no display.

Daughter-in-law is starting out as a fledgling new photographer. My issue: her display does not remotely display the correct colors of her photos. I have told her laptop displasy are never 100% accurate but in this case the colors are really off. Even within a photo-editing software they look off. Is there a way to calibrate the display color to get as close to the original photo as possible?? I appreciate any guidance and assistance. Thanks.

I have an acer laptop here (model doesn't matter) and it displayed classic symptoms of a bad inverter, so I purchased and new inverter and replaced it and voila, screen was perfect again. Then after only about 5 mins, the screen started flickering, like dimming a lot and then it went black again just the way it was before replacing the inverter, ie I could barely make out the image on the screen and now it has been like that since. It's as if the new inverter worked and then something caused it to stop working, can anybody cast any light on what might be causing this or what steps I should take to resolve this ?
It's an acer aspire 5135 15.6 lcd screen

I've recently bought a G60vx laptop and installed a clean win7 32bit, all driver are up to date including nvidia display.
i'm using a second monitor and disabled/turned off laptop monitor as i won't be using it.
i did this in the control panel that changes resolution etc. nividia control panel confirms this too. the problem is when i'm dragging windows around on the screen, it's all a bit jumpy and leaves traces of the window as i'm dragging it... this also happens if i'm just using the laptop screen on it's own without the additional monitor.

I've come from using a desktop so is this something laptop users experience?

Hi, thanks in advance for your help. I am using an Acer Aspire 4710.

My problem is that at all times when the computer is on (starting from boot), the LCD screen seems to "fade in" whatever the next thing to display is, so when the screen changes frequently, remnants of the previous display would stay there. Also, the display is extremely light and I can't seem to do anything about it.

This problem may possibly be a result of my brother dropping the computer but I'm not sure. Let me know if you think this could be an issue that I can change on the software side. I am using an external monitor to use the computer right now.

Hello Folks,

Trying to fix my friends laptop but running into a weird issue.

Using Windows Vista Home Premium
Graphics Card is Standard Intel 945

When booting windows normally I get a solid blue screen (not BSOD) after the login screen. Boots into safemode normally.

Clean for viruses/malware

Tried the following:

1) Plugged in an external monitor (VGA Port) and it brought up a display window on pc showing it was currently in multiple monitor mode (still blue screen in backround). Blue Screen on monitor as well. Switched to Single Display and now just blue screen on laptop display. Connected to TV with S-Video. Blue screen on TV as well.

2) Changed Resolution as well as 16 bit/32 bit color. No Effect.

3) Uninstalled/Reinstalled Graphics Driver. No Effect.

4) Tried creating guest account and logging in normally. Won't get past login screen. Just continuously loading.

Any suggestions?
Thank You in Advance for any ideas.

I started having issues yesterday the day after I installed teamviewer a program that is on my iPad also to remotely control the laptop At first the screen started freezing when I was in the middle of a Java game So I restarted the laptop only to have it freeze at the main screen after login The screen would freeze the display would change to black pc and issue? display screen blank- is the mobile Display a very low resolution I think So I kept restarting it only to repeat Until eventually once Display screen black and blank- is mobile pc display the issue? past the windows logo the screen would turn black and blank Sometimes the display would turn on black and blank and other times it would do that after the logo A few times I managed to get it to go into safe mode and I restored to a few days ago but it made no difference I also tried many other things like changing some settings but nothing worked So after like or hours I Rolled back and disabled quot nvidia quadro nvs m quot since I read it might be causing the issue and I should uninstall it which I couldn't once I disabled it I restarted the computer and made it to the main screen without issues and I could even load my game I enabled it again And restarted the computer only to have the same issues so I disabled it again after finally getting into safe mode I don't know if it works fine now I left it on at most for - minutes without any issues and I never actually logged into the game to see if it works I figured out that in my display settings instead of showing my main monitor it only shows quot mobile pc display quot I know that means from a mobile device but I don't see the option to change back to the main screen By using the previously mentioned app it changed my settings and so now I don't know how to get the main display screen I tried restoring to a previous version before but that didn't do anything so I'm guessing it didn't fix the display issue I also tried reinstalling the driver at least twice and nothing quot http www nvidia com Download index aspx quot

Hi all,

I have a HP Pavilion laptop (dv6810us). It's about 1.5 years old, so it came w/Vista. I currently have it dual booted w/7 Premium, and everything works fine except for the display. In the Vista boot, i get 1280x800, very clear. When i boot into 7, it says it displaying the same resolution, but it looks horribly fuzzy, and the icons are larger.

I've tried all display/control panel options thus far, and i've ensured that i have all settings to their highest level. I've searched HP's website for compatible 7 display drivers, but nothing has been released. Is it that my laptop simply cannot handle 7?

But with lcd cable connected, lcd backlight is white for some time and goes off and then external monitor comes on with welcome screen. Can switch with FN+F4 after that but lcd shows backlight only. Any idea? Please help!

I've just ordered this laptop (not delivered yet), but can find no information on what resolution is supported for an external display.  I can't even find anything which specifies the version of HDMI the laptop supports.  I'm confident that it will support my current 1920x1200 monitor, but would also like to use it on my 4k TV. Based on the CPU & iGPU (Core i7-5700-HQ with HD 530 GPU), I'm figuring it's capable of pretty high resolution, but that will be wasted if the HDMI port isn't the suitable version.

A:Pavilion 15-ak085na external display

Per the Service Manual: HDMI version 1.4 supporting 1920 ◊1080 @ 60Hz HP just loaned me a Zbook 15 G3 which also has an HDMI 1.4 port and it will put out to a 4K display, but I hesitate to tell you it will work on your laptop. HDMI 1.4 specs provide for 4K displays but it is possible HP has somehow limited its implementation.

my hp has a very strange problem. the pc displays a lot of colors like the ones that show on the xbox 360 when it frezees. everything works fine. when i try to play games, i cant before i could do it. and it only works if i install windows 7 it wont work on windows xp because it shows me hard disk error (blue screen). i tried to download a nvidia driver but when i reset the pc it shows me hard disk error and i have to intall windows again. what should i do?

A:HP Pavilion dv8000 display problem

Since this is a laptop, try testing the memory and hard drive using this info:

Laptops run hotter than desktops so there is a lot more stress on these components. The "the pc displays a lot of colors" usually means a bad LCD Panel, or motherboard. We hope it is not either of these, at this point

Here is a pic of the display on my HP DV5000 laptop.  Hooked up to an external monitor it works fine.  I've seen posts that say stuff like inverters, motherboards, etc. go bad.  Any idea what to look for on this one?  thanks.

A:HP Pavilion DV5000 Display Problem

Have you found out what the problem with your system is?  I have an HP Pavilion DV5000 doing the EXACT same thing, but since the hard drive went out, I can't reinstall Windows XP on it because I can only see the top 1/3 of the screen.  See, even with an external monitor, this system won't recognize the monitor until it's in full windows mode.  Installing windows on this thing would be like flying blind.  Very frustrating.  If only I could get xp reinstalled on it, I do believe using an external monitor also.  Unless I can find a way, this laptop is finished.

Hey there, i m facing some problem in HP Pavilion DV2000 display. My Vista was working good and suddenly the screen got strange types of lines on it. I upgrade the video drivers but nothing went fine. So last night, I upgrade Windows to 7 and still got that same problem. I want to know whats the problem I cant understand whether its display card problem of screen problem. Please guide.

A:HP Pavilion DV2000 display problem

It looks like the LCD panel is damaged. It's quite easy to determine: take a screenshot and post it here and we'll see. (Screenshot with Paint)

If the screenshot does not show these lines, it's safe to assume your LCD is damaged because screenshot shows exactly what your GPU is sending to display.

Hello! I have an out of warranty Pavilion g6-2342dx notebook that also has a broken left hinge. 2 days ago the display quit working. The system boots up normally, but no display.I attached an HP s2031 monitor via the secondary monitor output cable and the note book seems to be working as it should. As it is the left hinge which is broken, could the display power connection have come loose/undone? I don't really want to tear into it without some prior advice...   The warranty expired 3 May 2014, but I have noticed many other people have experienced a problem with this hinge. Is there some way that HP can "help out" and perhaps "extend" the warranty for this issue?  Any advice or tips you can give will be greatly appreciated! Thank you,Larry

Motherboard and processor failed on Pavilion p6-2133w with AMD A6 3620, AMD Radeon HD 6530D, Windows 10 Pro.I paid Staples Easytech Replaced to replace motherboard and processor with AMD A6 3650.The system is now identified as HP Pavilion p7-1154 Desktop PC -- I did not expect or know the product name would change.I installed AMD Catalyst Driver which recognizes the Acer S201HL display but I still can't increase resolution beyond 640x480.Two questions.First, this may be a dumb question, but is the change from p6-2133w to a p7-1154 an issue?Second, one idea is that the BIOS should be "reset" -- which I thinks is the same as "flash?" -- so that it will recognize the hardware but I can't figure out how to do the reset.Any ideas appreciated.

A:Can't change Pavilion display resolution after motherboard

Greetings, 1. Only if you are in warranty. 2. You can enter 'SETUP" , set BIOS to defaults, and "save and exit". Staples replaced the p6-2133w MB with a similar board  used by HP in a different product number. You should get HD screen resolution. This integrated graphics board may be HP OEM. Remove the AMD graphics driver. Let Win 10 install the driver and see if that helps. Install a discrete graphics card if the AMD GPU is not compatible with Win 10. Cheers!

A:HP Pavilion-Display errors-Dead Battery?

Yep. I think you should replace Power Supply. Probably it is too old to continue. Best bet is go out and buy 300W for your HP. I'm not entire sure if it still covered warranty but it is best bet to take your HP back to staples or future shop to have it fixed for a price.

Try swapping PSU and find out. if it didnt work, try add video card in PCI. and yes, ATI 9000 Series is integrated.

Hi @gorka_pr?, Thank you for posting. I have read your post, and I understand that you got a problem with graphic display after upgrading to Windows 10.  You need the latest driver for graphic adapter. I want to help. All the Windows 10 driver updates for this model are through Windows Updates. If all the Windows Updates are installed, please try the compatibility mode of the graphic driver. Using compatibility mode is at the last part of this link. If you upgraded to Windows 10 less than 28 days ago, you could consider to go back to Windows 7 while the compatibility mode is not working: (also last part of this link) Let me know how it goes. To say thank you, click on the "thumb up". Accept the post as solution, if your problem solved, so other people have the same issue can see it. Regards,

This happens as soon as the VGA adapter is plugged in. Unplugging it does not turn the laptop screen back on. Toggling with the function keys does nothing. Since I cannot see anything I cannot try to adjust/correct display settings (or do anything for that matter, other than turn the laptop off by holding power key down).

The second display works (tested with a different laptop).

History: The external display worked fine with this laptop. We had a power failure yesterday which turned it off. The screen toggled to the laptop successfully (or I did, with the function keys--I don't remember) and I continued working. When power returned I started running into this issue. I reinstalled the display drivers from the original manufacturer disc but the problem persists.

To shut down properly hit the Winkey, then the right arrow, then Enter.

This may be as simple as capacitors overcharged. Shut down, unplug, remove battery. Hold power button down for 20 secs.
Do same for monitor.
Then try.

Hello guys, I'm new in the forum and I hope that I can help to solve this problem. Today I cleaned up the dust off from a Hp pavillion a1600n and after I finished and put everything back together the computer turn on by itself each time I connect it to the power outlet and will make long beeps but doesn't display anything. I took the memory RAM and make sure that there was not dust on it but it didn't help. I also checked the fans and are working fine. The computer turns on even when I unplug the wires that connects it to the power button. I hope somebody can help me solve this problem, Thank you.

A:Solved: HP pavilion a1600n turns on but doesn't display

If the system is powering on with out the power button, You have wires crossed. Double check the manual and make sure you are putting the front cables on the right pins. You may find you have one crossed and so it is getting continuous power instead of being properly shorted.
From there double check that you have everything connected correctly. If you need to disconnect and start from scratch. As far as the video is concerned, are you connecting to a video card or to on board video. Either way, check to make sure the card is tight to the motherboard, and that the cable is screwed in tightly. Re-seat the memory and or any cables to the motherboard.

Please help.

The computer originally had windows xp on it.  I got fed up with windows xp so when windows 7 was out, I wanted to load it with windows 7.  I upgraded the memory to 1 GB, and then started the process of loading windows 7.  The installation seemed to go okay up until the last time the computer automatically had to reboot.  Until then the display was fine and everything appeared normal.  But after the last time the computer rebooted itself, the display became black with a couple of colored pixels showing.  Just to make sure the graphics card wasn't bad, I reloaded windows xp, and the display worked fine all the way even after xp was loaded.  so why is the display acting weird whn I try to load windows 7

A:hp pavilion a712n wont display properly when I load windows 7

Weird. Well I'm glad your graphics card isn't fried though, the last time I saw colored pixels all over was when I killed my 8800GT. So your rig meets all of the minimum requirements for Windows 7? This includes a 1 GHz CPU, 1 GB of memory, 16 GB's of HDD space, and a video adapter with 128 MB's of memory that supports DirectX 9.
What kind of graphics card are you using? You can check your card against the Hardware Compatibility List at .
Windows 7 should be installing the Standard VGA video driver during the instillation. It's a stock driver that allows you to have a 800x600 resolution until you can download the actual driver for you card after you've finish installing Windows. It kind of sounds like the driver isn't working with your card. If you go to you can download the Upgrade Advisor Tool. It should be able to tell you if any of your system components wont be able to run Windows 7.
Hope that helps.

I have an issue with a HP laptop HP issue Pavilion DV6 AHCI that I find annoying The laptop HP Pavilion DV6 AHCI issue belongs to a customer's Son and he brought it to me because it ran rather slow and so I looked at it and told him that some more memory and a nice SSD would be good for him anyway the main issue here is the silly Setup in the BIOS I went to the trouble of getting the NEWEST BIOS update from HP and installed it He wanted to have Win on it again and so I installed it from a USB drive and it went flawlessly but after setting all of it up I added the Samsung Magician software for some performance tweaking the first thing I cam across was that the software said that AHCI wasn't active and that it couldn't tell what type of SATA it was I have posted a question on HP forum but I hold no great hope of an answer but you never can tell According to HP the driver that is loaded by the RST programme is sufficient for it but it's a SATA RAID driver and that appears to be what is causing the issue with Magician I have seen a few articles on HP's site about this issue and they say it is ok but obviously it isn't There is no section in the device manager for IDE ATA ATAPI the driver is shown in the storage section instead Which is where the RAID driver usually ends up I am worrying for nothing or I find it strange that a laptop that can ONLY handle a single drive would be setup for RAID I have seen this same silly thing before with Lenovo and Toshiba where they used raid config for the HDD but they weren't SSD's I thought that this might have some smart people coming along to see and maybe have an answer

A:HP Pavilion DV6 AHCI issue

Pendaws the RAID term refers to the way the HDD is accessed.

AHCI - Advanced Host Controller Interface - this is a hardware mechanism that allows the software to communicate with Serial ATA (SATA) devices. It offers features such as hot-plugging and native command queuing (NCQ).

IDE - Integrated Drive Electronics - IDE is basically the "old" version of AHCI without hot-plugging and NCQ. (This is usually used during the Parallel ATA (PATA) era hard disks)

Now. AHCI mode and IDE mode -- what is it? IDE mode is to give you the greatest compatibility with older operating systems. While AHCI is as I mentioned above, modern version of the IDE -- use AHCI mode if you are running recent operating systems (Windows Vista+ and Linux kernel from 2.6.19+). IDE mode will allow you to connect older operating systems to SATA drives.

As I mentioned above, SATA is Serial ATA, and is the replacement for Parallel ATA (PATA) hard drives.

RAID - This is a storage technology where you combine multiple disks into a "single" unit, depending on the mode, there can be RAID-0 through RAID-6, and each with different configurations of the hard drive. I'll just explain the simple examples: RAID-0 which is striping but no parity or mirroring, this means there is no redundancy for data, If there is a failure on one disk, it will cause the data loss of the entire RAID array. Ex: You have 0110 as data to be written, 01 will go on Disk 1, and 10 will go on Disk 2, allowing for faster read/write access to the data.

RAID-1 - This is the opposite of RAID-0, which is mirroring without striping (no parity either). This basically means you have an exact clone of Disk 1 on Disk 2, in case Disk 1 fails.

RAID0+1 does both what RAID 1 and 0 does, that is to say striping (writing data simultaneously to two [or more] drives. plus mirroring in case of failure) the minimum amount of drives required for this type of setup is 4 IDENTICAL drives.

There are also RAID 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6. Which is just more implementation of different configurations of striping/parity/mirroring across drives.

That being said, your RAID mode will allow you for some type of RAID configuration, should you choose to do so.

Supplemental: Many SATA controllers can enable AHCI separately or in conjunction with RAID support. Intel recommends choosing RAID mode on their motherboards, which also enables AHCI, rather than AHCI/SATA mode for maximum flexibility (in case you ever want to build a RAID array), since there are some issues that occurs, usually BSOD, when you choose a different mode once an operating system has already been installed.

What's the correct HP Pavilion dv3 model laptop in this list that you have?

Does it have Vista(32-bit) or Vista(64-bit)?

Hello I have an hp pavilion g6 2201ax laptop which was giving me a system fan related error and was shutting off after about 15 min so I tried to fix the issue by blowing compressed air through the vents to dislodge any dust build up but even that didn't fix the issue so I took the laptop apart and removed the heatsink and fan assembly and it seems that their is quite a lot of friction build up in the fan as the fan wont move freely when I tried to manually rotate it. So my question is that is their a way to fix this fan or will I have to replace it?
Thanks a lot in advance.

A:hp pavilion g6 2201ax fan issue.

You will be better off replacing the assembly.

A link to your specifications:

A link to your Manuals:

A link to your Repair Maintenance and service Guide:

Look on page 23 Of the service and repair guide for the assembly part number that fits your system. Do a web search on the part number.

If replacing be sure to remove all the old thermal paste and apply new paste.

I have a laptop I picked up as a spare from a friend. It turns out everything is okay but her hard drive and since I'm too cheap to buy a hard drive I'm trying to use a spare 200gb 3.5" IDE drive I have through USB. When I begin booting into Windows however, it bluescreens and requires a restart. It gives me a stop message (0x0000007B) which I found out means it is have trouble booting from the drive.

The laptop is an HP Pavilion zv6000 and the hard drive is a Western Digital (If that makes a difference)

What do I need to do to boot windows from this device? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi there,

These crashes were all point to hardware. Please use these instructions to find out what that means and to figure out what to try.

I don't want to say this but the stop code is 124, which is hardware related.
You might want to try the following test to find out what is truthly the problem
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)

Okay so on some sites and programs when I have to use my webcam, everything goes smooth and works...until about 5 or so minutes in and my webcam turns off automatically and quits working. Skype, Omegle and Chatroulette are the sites I use that include the usage of my webcam. I am not sure if I need to update my drivers or something like that, I have looked around online to see what I can do, and have not found much help, so I figured I would come here and see if anyone can help me on this issue and future ones if anything else arises, thanks much!!
And hopefully I am posting this in the right area, if not please direct it there, thanks again!

My computer HP pavilion dv6000 running Vista has issues! It will not boot on battery power! It gets to the Microsoft Corporation screen and while loading it glitches. Now it's getting worse and sometimes it does the same thing when it is plugged in! When this problem happens it does start up repair every time and it does not solve the problem it gives an error message "Root cause found A patch is preventing the system from starting Repair action:System files integrity check and repair Result: Failed. Error code = 0x2" I have reinstalled Bios and ran a battery health check and it does not fix the problem.

Sounds like it maybe a bad battery. It sounds like its surging and has fried the adapter now as well. How old is the system? Do you have SP1? That might cause a problem, its unlikely but it could be.

I bought this laptop, new, yesterday.  It charged all night.  The specs say it has a battery life of 11.75 hours.  That is the sole reason I decided to go with this laptop over one with better RAM.  I just turned it on 30 minutes ago and it is 100% charged yet it only has a battery life of 5hr, 26 min.  After 30 minutes of light use, it is 85% charged with 4hr, 3min left.  Is there anything I can do to fix this issue short of returning the computer?

I have an HP Pavilion A535W with a power issue. First the computer stops and acts like it has no power. I replaced power supply and now it starts for a few seconds then shuts down.

I have completely cleaned the inside, CPU, power supply with dust off.

I have also removed all cables except drive cable with the same result.

It does not even get to show the BIOS start screen or the HP screen and stops.

Anyone got any ideas, cause I'm stuck.

This problem has been persisting for a while now. Whenever I try to turn on my computer, the lights go on like it's booting up, but the screen stays completely blank. Not just dim or black, but off, completely blank. In other words, the computer essentially can't turn on. Any ideas?

Hello everyone I must say that I've been looking for a resolution for this problem for five hours straight now I've just bought a new laptop here in Brazil It's an HP Pavilion dv - br It was the last one they had on the store and it was in the shelves so people often touched it but I decided to take it anyway After I came home I came upon the log on screen which by a divine miracle I guessed the password so I was able to access it Inside I found lots of useless content so I decided to format the laptop Before the formatting it had the FN key working flawlessly as well as the brightness control and stuff like that though I didn't check the internet connection After the formatting now with Premium I noticed that the FN key doesn't work anymore as well as the internet connection I have a cabled connection and when I plug the cable in the laptop it lights the cable up thought it won't connect anyway I've tried downloading the updates through my desktop putting them onto a removable media and then installing it via the laptop itself thought anything worked so far tl dr I need help on how to make my cabled Internet connection work I'm not sure of what information are needed so I'll let you guys with only these but I'll be glad on keeping you informed of anything you need Thanks in advance ZuseBR -- EDIT When I tried installing the video card which is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD it told me that it couldn't proceed due to fact that the hardware is not connected or something like that

I have an old Desktop Pavilion running -bit XP which I purchased in and I've recently started having BIOS problems nbsp Two weeks ago when I booted the computer I got a blank screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left BIOS Pavilion 523n Issue corner nbsp I restarted and used the F key to get into the BIOS set-up and I discovered that the Pavilion 523n BIOS Issue boot priority had been changed nbsp It was trying to boot from my slave data hard drive instead of the master hard drive with the operating system on it nbsp Once I fixed the boot priority I saved the changes and exited and it started fine but soon this same boot priority problem started happening about every third time I booted the computer nbsp Sometimes the first boot Pavilion 523n BIOS Issue priority pointed to bootable cards whatever that means nbsp Most recently the problem continued and got worse when it didn't detect the master hard drive at all and I had to detect it manually in the BIOS nbsp Can you tell me if the BIOS needs to be updated or if a virus could be causing this nbsp By the way my floppy drive hasn't worked for some time nbsp Thank you

Hi all. I recently bought this HP Pavilion 17 refurbished by the Geek Squad at best buy. the laptop is nice except for the processor. its a AMD A8-4500M, and it either is overheating, or the fan is just overkill. all i have to do s open chrome, and the fan gets audibly annoying. im not one to get annoyed by fans since my desktop is always on, but the laptop is LOUDER than all the fans on my desktop. CPUID HW Moniter says the CPU is running at 57 degress Celsius! thats not even a hot temp for this laptop. can someone help? free to give more info if needed.
