I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everybody I originally had a problem with this game because it would not load any pc Solid Gear Metal problem...Again for graphics 2 textures whatsoever so everything was Metal Gear Solid 2 for pc graphics problem...Again just an outline of what it was supposed to be I fixed the problem by turning down the texture detail to almost low The game now displays textures but it won t display any particle effects or water which is really annoying plus light rendering isn t working properly either Supposably MGS has Metal Gear Solid 2 for pc graphics problem...Again a problem with pixel shaders and in order to fix those specific graphics problems you need Metal Gear Solid 2 for pc graphics problem...Again to disable pixel shaders on your GPU They suggested using riva tuner but that was made for Nvidia Cards and I don t know if it will work on Intel onboard graphics A lot of people have had this problem particularly those with Nvidia cards sometimes ATI as well However Konami released a patch to fix the graphics issues for ATI only However I am using Intels onboard graphics and I have no idea how to even begin fixing the problem outside of buying a new computer which I am tempted to do Some people have suggested editing the exe files with a hex editor and replacing some details to try to make it work but I don t know what I am doing and I would probably screw it up anyways if you guys have any suggestion please let me know thanks nbsp

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes comes out in Spring 2014 for, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. With the announcement of the Deja Vu exclusive content for the Playstation systems. It left Xbox fans wondering whether or not there would be anything for them. Last night at the Xbox One event, it was announced that there would be exclusive content for Xbox One.

They do not detail what it would be but I can tell you this; it will not be the Deja Vu mission as that is exclusive to fans that have been around for the past 15 years since Metal Gear Solid for Playstation 1.

Picked this game up for $15 and installed it ok. After the opening sequence has completed, a loading screen appears instructing you to 'Press the start button'. Sure enough when you hit 'Return' you go to the 'Options' screen for 'New Game' / 'Settings' etc. However hitting any of the 5 option in the menu - and you get booted back the loading screen with the 'Press start ..'

This happens over and over. Have tried other keys but cannot get into the game.

There are no errors per se - its not a driver or DirectX issue.

The only patches released are for errors related to Radeon Cards - which does not apply to me.

No other faults that I can determine.
Can anyone shed any light on what I may have missed here ?

Have a good week all.

Richard.

Hi, I've been having HUGE problems with metal gear solid for the P.C. Firstly whenever I get killed the damm thing terminates and gos back to windows, no error messages, nothing. Also when I get up to the nuclear building on the second basement level (the bit where you shoot missles at the electric panel) I shoot a missle and try and put first person view on the missle and the game goes back to windows. I have a p2 233 mhz 32 megs of ram.

A:Metal gear solid BIG PROBLEMS!

Well your machine is right on the minumum's for the game so I would suspect a memory issue. Make sure you close down everything running in the background before playing. Scan and defrag hard drive. Probably turn off some of the options to see if it helps the problem. Worse comes to worse it is a D3D game, update your directx. Make sure sound is set to low or most compatible.

Hi I m having problems with the sound on Metal Gear Solid Substance for the PC During codec conversations and during movies the sound is horribly distorted if there s no music I can just about barely make out what they re saying but if there is music then no chance all Solid Sound Issues Metal Gear i get is horrible noises that force me to turn my speakers off In game sound effects and background music aren t effected Metal Gear Solid Sound Issues but it s the nature of the game that the dialogues and cut scenes are very important I m using the onboard sound from my MSI K N G which is an nforce chipset I had this problem about months ago and brought the game back but since I saw it on sale for a Metal Gear Solid Sound Issues tenner and I have newer drivers now I thought I d give it a go again I have the most up to date drivers and I ve tried patching the game the patch is only meant to make it compatible with ATI graphics cards anyway strangely enough I have a radeon XT and the graphics were perfect both before and after the patch Anyway the sound issue seems in some way connected to whatever format is played during movies and cutscenes because everything else is fine In the game options I can choose between primary sound driver or nvidia nforce audio but changing that option doesn t make a difference Any ideas nbsp

Have been getting this intermittently while playing The Phantom Pain (and sometimes Ground Zeroes), initially it was an issue with hardware that I fixed through a Windows hotfix, but now it's turned to a couple of different messages. One of them was while working with DXGMM1.sys, at which point I uninstalled and reinstalled my DirectX drivers. Now it will either freeze completely and need a hard-reset, or it will BSOD with a hang on OXOOOOOO1E or OXOOOOOO7F. Am I just screwed at this point?

I currently have an MSI Nvidia 460 1GB card. Could someone tell me which AMD/Radeon is comparable with that card? I'm considering a replacement.
JFI: I've had the card returned and replaced and now the entire computer is currently on it's FedEX way to Microtel for repairs. I get BSOD's and black screens. I've replaced the memory, checked the memory in various slots, had Microtel on the phone a dozen times working with settings. I did not get any BSOD while the video card was out of the machine but of course the onboard video is extremely limiting in computer use. I'm confident that heat is not a problem nor is PSU size a problem. I keep all my drivers up to date and also the Windows updates.
Thanks.

I have updated my nVidia 6600GT card to an nVidia Quadro FX3400 professional card. The card works fine, but XP professional (64bit) still thinks the card is a 6600GT. I un-installed the drives and downloaded the lastest from the nVidia website, but to no avail. Any ideas anybody?

And while I'm at it, if the Quadro FX3400 is using the 6600GT driver, can I install my 6600GT as well, using the second SLI slot, and use them together(seeing that Windows thinks they are both 6600GT's), or is that tempting fate?

I've been looking around for graphics options for my N7110 and most of the posts I've seen mention that there is a NVIDIA graphics card along with the integrated card. I've looked around and I haven't been able to install any drivers for an NVIDIA graphics card on my system. Is it possible that there isn't one on my system? If there is, how can I find and install the correct drivers to use it? If not, are there any other options than the integrated card?
Thanks

A:Do all Insprion N7110 have nvidia graphics cards?

Hi,
The Inspiron N7110 is shipped with Integrated and Discrete video solutions. You can also choose to switch between the graphics depending upon usage.

Intel HD 3000 Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M

The NVIDIA graphics card can be found listed under Display Adapters in Device Manager (refer to the image). To access Device Manager, go to Start>> click 'Control Panel' >> select 'View by, Small Icons'. >> click 'Device Manager. Click the arrow next to Display adapters. Check if the devices appear as shown in the image.

If the NVIDIA driver does not appear, update BIOS from this link: http://dell.to/R3vUYi. Before flashing the BIOS please check the following:* No external devices (printer, USB drive, SD card, DVD) should be connected.* All other programs should be closed and documents saved.* The AC adapter and battery should be connected during this process. The battery should be 10% or more than 10% charged.
To install the driver, click on 'Get Driver'>> click "Continue'>> Click 'Yes' on User Account control if prompted>>Click 'Continue' on the Application prompt>> Click 'OK' on Select the folder where you want to unzip the files to (Make a note of the folder location)>> Click 'Yes' on the next prompt for folder does not exist>> Click "OK' on All files were successfully unzipped. >> If the installation wizard does not appear, go to the folder location>> select the Setup file >> Right-click and select 'Run as Administrator">>Follow the installation wizard instructions. The laptop will reboot after this update.
If the driver does not appear in Device manager after the BIOS update, install the integrated graphics driver from this link: http://dell.to/UuLtJW. Follow the aforementioned instructions for downloading and installing the drivers. Reboot PC.
Once done, you can update the NVIDIA video drivers by referring to this link: http://dell.to/Of32Or. Follow the aforementioned instructions for downloading and installing the drivers. Reboot PC.  Once the driver is installed, you can use the switchable graphics feature. Right-click on the windows desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel:

Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Select Manage 3D Settings.
Under Global Settings tab, users can select the preferred graphic processor.

When the Preferred Graphics Processor is set to Auto-select, it allows the driver to pick the most compatible graphics processor.
You can also assign a program or an application either to Integrated Graphics or to NVIDIA Graphics Processor based on the requirement of performance or battery life. For example, if you want to assign a particular game to Nvidia Graphics Processor, it can done by following these steps:

Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Select Manage 3D Settings.
Click on the Program Settings tab
In '1:Select a program to customize:-' click on 'Add'
Browse to the application / game and open the executable file by clicking 'Open'.
In '2:Select the preferred graphics processor for this program-' click on the tab and select 'High Performance NVIDIA processor'.
Click on Apply and the settings will be saved. Refer to the images.

Hope this helps. Please revert for clarification.

Hi.. So my psu got messed up so i have now sent it in and using a old psu without pci-e power so i had to change out my GTX 660 to my old ATI Radeon 4650
Though the gtx 660 kicks donkey in gaming the Radeon is running flash games smoother and some other stuff to
Also a bit of a OpenCL vs CUDA war
When rendering with my AMD A8 laptop with intergrated gpu the rendering times in Sony Vegas 12 accually was shorter than the video with OpenCL gpu acceleration on But with
Cuda acceleration on with my GTX 660 with around 950 CUDA cores the rendering times are about dubble the video lenght

This is soo confusing??
Did i do a very stupid move buying a 660 instead of a R9 270x card for Gaming and video editing and rendering

A:AMD cards Vs nVidia cards? Got very confused by a thing

You didn't mess up on anything but to be honest AMD has gotten better with encoding speeds over the years

I just recently bought a new GTX 780 ti I have not done any video yet i have been doing benchmarks but i will find out soon enough

the time it normally took me to render and burn with 2x7970's were about 20 minutes depending on what it was doing some took longer then others to about 30 minutes but actually cut down to 25 minutes

Direct Compute and Open GL are on fire right now with AMD cards they use it very well and Bitcoin Miners seem to love how much over Nvidia they run

For me it's doesn't mater as long as it suits my needs but other people may differ with the way AMD has been changing GPU Architecture people have been going red and also the prices have gone up so if you are looking to change now you need to look for a card worth the coin because they gone up 20% matching Nvidia prices

Hi there,

My computer came with a VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP card, which is apparently a Graphics/Video Card with onboard video (or the other way around, video w/ onboard graphics) Now, this is a terrible card- it can barely play any modern games. I want to get a new graphics card, but I'm concerned if I install a new Graphics Card, that because of the onboard video, it will affect this greatly, or if I actually need a video card instead of graphics. What do I actually need, and will it adversely affect anything on my PC.

I can provide more information if you want...

I've read Quadro's are stable and highly recommended for CAD, etc workstations (not for gaming) and gaming cards are obviously better for gaming. I am looking to setup two separate dual output video cards in a new machine. It will be used primarily for streaming real time financial info/web surfing (no CAD nor any 3D modeling) with a secondary use of gaming (not important for me to run top games at top resolutions-average is fine). Should I look at getting Quadros or game cards. I am leaning toward the game cards like Nvidia 8600GT, etc as they are lower price and seems like if they can run games fast/no problem-why wouldn't they easily be able to handle business applications? Quadros seem to cost more and can mainly only be used for business apps?

A:Nvidia Quadro vs Nvidia gaming cards

Quadros are for Digital Content Creation and CAD purposes mainly. For you, a pair of 8600GTs would be fine.

What are those cable things used for on a PCI graphics card.
E.g.

http://i6.ebayimg.com/01/i/001/2d/74/c92e_1.JPG

On this graphics card there is one blue connector thingy with holes in it, which I think is for some cable (excuse me for my lack of computer literacy). What is the cable port and the cable used for? And is the cable necessary for the graphics card to work in a computer, or is it just for connecting it to a tv or something --> I don't really know. Just wanna know if the port has to be used, or whether it can be left empty and still will work in a computer in a PCI slot.

Thanks.

Just a thought. I'm currently running an XFX 260 Black Edition on my Asus P5Q Pro MB.
I still have my old card- A BFG 8800GTS OC 512MB.
I kept meaning to ebay it but never got round to it.
Is there any way I could usefuly use it in my present set up?

Cheers, John

Hello AJBV,
Try this un-installer to get rid of any trace of the old drivers. Do this in safe mode, then reboot.

Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com

I would go to the NVidia site to download the latest drivers.

Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Use option two, do this after you have run the un-installer.
Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

In theory they should work in the same system no? If I make the 8400 my main card and the 7300 my secondary card.

run 2 wide screens off the 8400 and an older 19" non wide off the 7300

should work right?

worked in xp I think. but get this..vista gave me a 4.3 for my 7300, and a 3.5 for my 8400..go finger..uhh..figure.. go figure.

Welcome to the forums!

I did some digging around and couldn't come up with anything solid about running three monitors. I did find a site that discusses multiple monitor usage. There may be some information there that would be helpful.

Here's the website: Multi-Monitor Resources at www.realtimesoft.com

I hope you are able to make the configuration work. Please let us know when you find a solution.

I only have two XFX-5770 ATI cards in a crossfire configuration.

I also have a Nvidia PhysX programs installed. I assumed they were installed by Steam or some other game.

The questions are;
1) Do I need this PhysX application?
2) Does the ATI cards use them?
3) Will it be safe to delete All Nvidia/PhysX applications.

PS: Never had Nvidia cards installed either.

A:PhysX w/o Nvidia Cards. Only ATI.

1. Yes.

2. Not even if you try real hard.

3. You start deleting it then the game(s) that installed it will not work.

For the few games that use Physx it is required. If you have a compatible Nvidia card and the game supports it it will use GPU accelerated Physx, for all others if falls back to a software render and is still required even for this.

In theory you can stick any number of PCI video cards in your system and it should work. I'd say, with such a big company like nVidia, the drivers are able to cope with several cards, especially if they are not identical.

Matrox is always a sure bet for multi-anything (unless you want stellar 3D performance of course).

Hi Guys,
What is the succession of nVidia cards in this linage GTX 960, GTX 970 GTX 980 Titan-X all with Maxwell architecture as in the dates of release?...(obviously the Titan was just announced last week!)
Just trying to work out a purchase option, being that this range is based in two CPU chipsets that of the LGA1155 and the LGA2011-v3.
How long would the wait be, before nVidia released a graphics card that was design based, entirely on the LGA2011-v3 socket?
As I need to upgrade my machine in the next month and am opting for the LGA2011-v3 path.

Kind of a curly question

A:What is the succession of nVidia cards?

U listed The cards in as the better, u're 1155 chipset would run any of these card fine. PIC-E 16 is all the speed u can get on any socket, the LGA2011-v3 will just give u more lanes for more cards to run on. That does not mean they will run faster unless u are already filling up the lanes (most boards will run SLI) at least 1155 boards and upwards. the list as in slower to faster is GTX960, GTX970, GTX980, and the Titan-X being the fastest.
the only way any thing is going to speed up is if u are trying 3 way SLI.

Can anyone assist re advice or their experiences with entry level PCI graphic cards (and I do mean 'entry' level - up to 70) Whilst I am reasonably up to speed with the specs and views regarding AGP cards, PCI is a bit of a mystery.

The card will be going into a new build for a friend of mine and it is being done on a very tight budget. There are no plans for game playing on it but by using a s939 Athlon 64 and PCI enabled mobo there will (hopefully) be an upgrade road

Hey, supposedly these cards are very powerful (and expensive). Are these stand a lone GPU's or are they a supplement to CPU's? I am wondering, because I am going to build a gaming machine and thought about putting one of these cards in there? I heard they out perform Intel's 3rd generation processors as far as how many calculations per second they perform. However I'm not sure of these calculations are for video processing only? Any thoughts on that?

A:Nvidia Cuda Cards

Cuda is actually the type of hardware processors on the graphics processor unit
or cuda cores.
The graphics processor is made up of a lot of cuda cores.
The number depends on the particular processor on the card
that is using it.
Nvidia makes the graphics processors and sells them to different manufacturers
who build the whole video card.
A good dedicated video card is always going to perform better than onboard or
on cpu graphics.
Low end cards may not,but they are usually designed for video playback, not games
or graphics intensive programs.
If you do get a decent video card, make sure you have a decent power supply to handle it.
They are stand alone video cards that fit in a pci express X16 slot on the motherboard.

I just recently played splinter cell chaos theory on PC, i have a 6800 GT overclocked to 420/1130 and when i have the game playing at shader 3.0 it is slow as hell and i am running this at 1024*768. I barely get 35 FPS, this also happened when i was playin chronicles of riddick which also supports shader 3.0 and my fps was even worse. I dont know if its my pc, software or the card. But if it is the card i dont get why nvidia will put the support for a technology that their current generation of video cards can not handle.

A:Shader 3.0 Support in Nvidia Cards.

it is not necessarily an issue with the shader model 3.0,do you have anything running in the background,do you have aa or af on?also it doesnt have to be the video cards fault for low fps count,it might be becuase of a weak or an unmatched processor to keep up or slower ram.shader model 3.0 is relatively new technology the fault doesnt have to be in the hardware(gpu) but might be in the software(game)as well.

Last night, MS downloaded a driver update to this PC for the graphics card. The update specifically called out the nVidia 7300LE card that's installed. The writeup also stated that it was to correct the January Patch Tuesday updates. I thought it was strange that the update singled out my particular graphics card. I wonder if other W7 users that have nVidia cards installed might be getting similar updates since I see several posters here with display issues at boot up. Just thought I'd share my luck.

My first question:
Is it even possible for my to use SLI with ATI cards?

My second question:
If it's possible, will my performance be degraded for mixing them?

My third question:
Can you SLI two different cards? I have an Radeon x1650 Pro and a Radeon HD 2600XT.

And my last question:
Will my 2600XT have to step down to meet my x1650?

So you are publishing a short guide on video cards while on your first post? Great! We need more brave souls on this forum.
We do already have a large number of excellent posts on Video Cards. We will shall see what we shall see.
But this one you posted appears to have been posted on another site. I am not sure, but I think that is a no no on Tech Spot. You might want to ask Julio and the other powers that be.

This sounds to me like a reporting error. If everything's running fine and faster than before, I'd tend to believe that you're running at the 4x speed and the nView program isn't reading this correctly.

Hi ZooMan.......
the mobo you have is an ''SLI'' board as im sure your aware, they obviously wont work in tandem, & i don't think they'll work independantly of each other either as it would require 2 different drivers...

just buy a ''DVI to HDMI'' dongle
i could be wrong but i don't think it will work.

Hi all,

Has been a long long time since i've returned to these forums, but i've always got the best advice and info from u guys!

Basically, i am getting confused with the hype of Physx and dedicating a GPU to act fully on Physx.

I have an intel chipset P35 Asus P5KE-E mobo which will support crossfire etc but i am sticking with Nvidia. I currently have a 9600 GT overclocked and want to upgrade to a 280 gtx. Can i whack the 9600 gt into the second (x4) pci express port and dedicate the whole card to physx whilst having the 280 in the pci-e x16 slot??

I'm sure i have read that this is possible but knowing my luck, it has to be in an sli capable mobo?!

Thanks in advance

Jonny

A:2 Nvidia Cards on non-sli board (for physx?)

it has to be SLI because ATI and nVidia uses different i think technologies and it works on a different basis
but there is a mobo which will be coming out that supports both Crossfire and SLI
i think intel will do it but i cant remember what model it will be :S

It is a real headache when I search reviews for the same graphics card and get different benchmark results (i.e. Crysis). For example: Here on Techspot, the Nvidia 8800GTS is about the same performance-wise compared to the ATI HD 4850. But on Xbit-Labs or Tom's Hardware, one of the cards will be significantly worse.
So my question is: From experience, is the ATI Radeon HD 4850 better than the Nvidia 8800GTS/GTX ? What would be the best card to get for the $150 - $200 price range?

A:Radeon HD 4850 vs Nvidia Cards

The Radeon 4850 is in the league of nVidia 9800GTX/+ cards so yes it is better than the 8800GTS/GTX cards.

So, now that the 9800 GX2 cards have dropped way down in price to what I payed for my 9800 GTX it seems silly to get another GTX for SLI.

So where can I find all the info on how nvidia's physx stuff runs? From what i gather I can run a GX2 for the video and then use my GTX for physx? That sounds good to me to be honest.

Any links, info... anything would be greatly appreciated. Needless to say im pouring through google right now but it cant hurt to ask.

I'm not sure yet what kind of video card I want, but my choices are the nvidia geforce 6150, nvidia geforce 7100, 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400, DVI-I, VGA adapter, and 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT DVI-I, HDMI. I really want one that will allow for Sims 2 to run pretty smoothly , but also for one that will run my photoshop cs3. I have the nvidia geforce 6150 on my laptop with 2gb of memory and it runs ok...but it's a little slow. Which of the top options is the best? Is the 8400 a good card? I would rather get the 8400 because it's a better value, and I am assuming that the higher the number the better the card? is that true for nvidia video cards? I'm not sure about nvidia cards, but higher numbers USSUALLY mean better card. The exception is probably with the radeon x series cards. The numbers are only between 1k and 2k but they are better than the regular 9k series ATIs from what I understand. As for the memory count. More is always better.

Nvidia has announced that it is going to be dropping driver support for a large number of its old graphics cards, including essentially the entire 8-series, 9-series, 100-series, 200-series, 300-series, and one card (the GeForce 405) from its 400-series. This includes mobileand desktop products. Support for a number of professional workstation products is also being terminated.

Might have posted this subject in the wrong forum....

Anyway; I've just installed Vista Business x64, however I do have some problems setting up the Dual monitors.

I have:
On the left a Dell 2005FPW, which is pivoted (to read PDFs and stuff like that easier)
On the right a Samsung 226BW, which set to normal.

However, when I go to the NVIDIA setup, and try to tell which monitor is where and which should be the primary display. The primary display always tends to be placed on the left side in the software.

I want the Dell to be the extended display, while the Samsung is the primary display. But the software (either in Vista or the NVIDIA driver itself) insist on that both the primary and the first mentioned display is the same.

Any ideas?

I made this work in XP Pro, but in Vista it is hellishly annoying to make it work.

A:Dual Monitor setup for Nvidia cards

You might want to try Ultramon. I have been using it on all of my multi-monitor systems (both at home and in the office) for a few years now. I have been using the Vista x64 beta version since it became available in May with no problems. The software is created and maintained by one person (Christian Studer), so releases and patches can be a bit few and far between. But it's free to try and it is miles better at managing multiple displays than is Windows...

Nvidia graphic such as SC league of legends etc I do wish to play league of legends on high settings with high fps and also other games so i am willing to spend money to upgrade my graphic cards if it is worth it nbsp

A:Which graphic cards? Nvidia GT 525M or 540M?

Yup, the two cards are identical aside from how fast the core/processor and memory runs on the cards.

If you are gamer then get the best you can as this being a laptop you won't find it easy or cheap to upgrade later on- which will be limited to the same choices as now.

That said, League of Legends recommends a way more powerful graphics card then either of these, although the minimum is easily met. If you want a gaming system that can smoothly run games on high then a laptop may not be for you.

I know there will always be something bigger better and faster coming out on the market but when I originally built my desktop I chose a Mid-tower because I didn't want a Series vs. Nvidia Of New Graphic The Cards 9800's The High-tower due to the size etc but I do The New Series Of Nvidia Graphic Cards vs. The 9800's dislike the mid-tower because it leaves about an inch of space for air flow from the intake fan to the output fan due to its size I recently got back from school so I have yet to set-up my desktop but The New Series Of Nvidia Graphic Cards vs. The 9800's I put in it a EVGA Nvidia GX graphics card which was the new and best and this was only a year ago now I haven't really been following new cards and such for a while but can anyone give me a summary of what has happened since the GX I know some are now equipped with DDR but what else about them is making them the new and better series Would there be any advantage to upgrading to a or series Thanks -Lollies

A:The New Series Of Nvidia Graphic Cards vs. The 9800's

Their are always advantages, 2 series pending on the exact model.Newer manufacturing techniques, power consummation, more memory, faster memory, higher memory interface (bit). 4 Series DX11, 2 DVi and 1 hdmi out multi monitor support, and the afore mentioned. It would really depend on what you mainly use your card for. Since the card you have is a pretty good one to start with. JMO Fabe

A:Debate on PSU requirements of nvidia 8800 GT/GTS cards

two 8600s will get better performance at super high resolution, but if your not planning on running things in the 2400 x1800 range, go for the 8800 gt.
also, i'd recommend getting a 6-700W powersupply. i'm not an AMD expert but from what i've heard they use more power and modern vid cards need quite a bit too.
lastly, are you getting a sound card? in my experience having a dedicated sound card (turtle beach montego is nice) makes for better sound

That sort of thing is dependent on whether or not the bios auto-disables the onboard video when a video card is installed/detected. Some bioses will outright disable the onboard with no chance of it working, and some will auto-disable but allow the use of both through a setting in the bios.

One quick and easy way to see if the onboard is still enabled is to see if it is listed under Display adapters in Device Manager. If it is it should just be a matter of connecting a monitor to it. If it isn't check the bios and see if there is an option anywhere that allows to enable it. Being a Dell somehow I doubt that it will work though.

What are the main differences between a Nvidia Quadro type card (like NVIDIA Quadro FX 370 Video Card - 256MB GDDR2-$109) and the various dual output gaming cards out there (for instance the XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX Video Card 256MB DDR3-$89)? I am contemplating building a new system for stock trading. Nvidia Quadro are used in workstations I know of but gaming cards seem faster and cheaper for same price-I must be missing something? Can you split the outputs of the Nvidia Quadros (ie get 4monitors hooked up to one dual output card with 4 independent windows of streaming data 1each on each monitor?) Thanks in advance...

I have a Gigabyte GA-K8NS mb and need to upgrade my video card. I am considering an Nvidia 6800GT video card but not sure if I can even use it.

A:Solved: Can I use the Nvidia 6800 series cards on a socket 754 board?

Yeah you can run it. Just order the card you need, ie PCIE or AGP. I figure you need an AGP card but I ain't sure. Make sure your PSU is up to the task also.

Different scanners find different things. That is probably why you have more than one.

Do you have any more details on what was found?

I've searched around the net on this error.. no real solutions that i have found so far.. figured i'd give this forum a shot... i'm running an 8600GT and 7600GT card at the same time.. didnt have this issue before the 2nd card..

I'm running the latest revision from 12/07 on the driver...

The stop error is 0x0000001D

Anyone have any thoughts.. or am i out of luck with 2 nvidia cards and x64 vista for now?
