Preferred Solution: Acer Extensa 5620 eRecovery problem

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You probably need to purchase a Windows install disk to install Windows fresh

just wondering... got one today for free. someone gave it to me.

they thought it was broke and went out and bought something new. lol.. I have a feeling it works fine, just overloaded with junk... tons of programs, files, and spyware.

think I'm going to just reformat the drive from the recovery partition and start fresh... and since I dont' need a laptop, this may hit ebay. need some money for car repairs...

A:acer extensa 5620. how old is this laptop?

I don't know from what year that model is based, but as it says here, http://panam.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/Extensa5620/Extensa5620sp2.shtml, they first appeared with Windows XP. And as it says here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acer_Extensa, The 5620 is the fifth latest model.
So my guess would be anywhere between 2005 and 2008.

It's not the most accurate answer, but I hope that it helps!

As XP runs out next week I need to upgrade my OS and want to know if I my machine can handle the upgrade to 8.1.  The Microsoft Upgrade assistant says I can and all my tech savvy friends say its ok but before I go ahead I just want to ensure I'm not going to encounter any significant issues that are going to be costly, seriously time consuming or frustrating!  Your advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

A:Acer Extensa 5620 Upgrade OS from XP to Windows 8....

There's a good chance that the Windows 7 driver may work with Windows 8, but the only way to find out it to try it & see. If there are any issues, you should get an error message informing you that the driver isn't compatible, or it may appear to install but just not work! If that is the case, then try IOBits Driver Booster Free - it might be able to find a compatible driver. If it doesn't, then you may have to forgo the card reader....!

I hope someone can lead me in the right direction. I have a new Acer laptop with vista pre-installed. It had 3 pre installed partitions;-

1. Hidden EISA Configuration
2. C - with vista installed - 111gb NTFS
3. D - data - empty - 111gb NTFS

I have shrunk C to a smaller size 77gb and now I have an unallocated section of 34gb. The unallocated section is between C & D.

What I would like to do is merge the unallocated area with partition D and install XP pro onto it.

My idea behind all this is to put C (with vista ) aside and use XP Pro, until I have to use Vista. I would like to make C. smaller but that was the smallest size DiskManagement would allow.

Now back to my original question how do I merge unallocated and partition D.

Thanking you in advance

I downloaded the drivers for windows 7 x64bit for the SD card reader in my system.
I have installed Windows 8.1 Pro x64.
I had the same issue with Windows 8 and now that I have settled on 8.1 need to fix my card reader.
Funny thing is that the drivers from Microsoft load (2006) and all devices look fine in Device Manager.

Even after installing the link from Acer and even searching around and getting other ones from Lenovo, HP still no go.

any ideas???

forgot to mention that the system sees a problem...

The current hard drive is a 200 GB, 5400 RPM Toshiba. Wish to replace it with a Western Digital Black 320 GB, 7400 RPM. First, mounted the WD HDD on an external case and cloned the partition where the OS is located. Next I changed the priority order in the BIOS to boot from the external drive to confirm the cloning was successful. However, when I installed the new WD hard drive into the laptop, the system won't boot it can't find the operating system. Did I miss something? Maybe some one can help? Thanks.

Ok so here's my problem...

I bought an acer aspire 1640z some time ago now and ive never once had a problem with it!

I now want to create a back up disk/disks to safetly have them to hand should anything go wrong, my problem is usuing empowering technology, ERecovery to be precise I click to make a back up image onto a disk, it asks me to insert either 5 cd's or 1 dvd disk and then i hit next, then everytime this error comes up!

Making BackupDisk1 needs Drive(:)
Space 700MB/4GB for CD/DVD

Now there isnt anything wrong with my disk drive i can still pay dvd's and games, and i can still write to dvd's and cd's.

Could it be my Empowering Technology Disk drive path registry files have become mixed up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I don't know much about fixing computers and how to explain this so I'm just going to include everything acer gets in the Problem eRecovery way installing win7, that I've done about this problem I have an Acer Aspire laptop and wanted to change from Vista Basic bit to Windows Ultimate bit I put in the Win disc and did the whole installing process But when that was finish and Windows quot finalising quot it fades out and restarted then a File Not Found pop up saying quot cannot find file C Problem installing win7, acer eRecovery gets in the way D D Images WSI when try to determine UI language quot I clicked OKAY then it goes to Acer eRecovery Management with the message quot how would you like to restore quot I chose quot restore system to factory setting quot and I couldn't see it fast enough but there was a table grid saying something about Source Hard disk partition then another message pops up saying quot restore failed - reason xa quot click okay to restart So I restarted and try the other option which is restore system from CD DVD and was told to insert backup disk or system CD I don't have any of those or where do I find it I can't use my laptop now so I can't create a backup disk or whatever acer eRecovery wants Then when the Acer screen starts during startup I pressed F and go into boot Played around with the boot priority order to be able to run the Windows disc again and this is the order that boot up the cd for me Network Boot MBA v Slot USB CDROM IDE MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ QJ IDE Hitachi HTS K SA USB FDD USB HDD I don't know what the other ones does but I moved the 'network boot' up to st Pressed F save and exit enter to boot cd then installed Windows again I chose 'custom' for a clean install and was shown three partitions I don't know what they are until now but I only have a slight idea In the quot where would you like to install quot there are Disk Partition PQSERVICE size gb free space gb Disk Partition Acer C something along that line size gb free space gb Disk Partition D size gb free space gb The first time I install Win I chose Partition D drive because it's the only one with enough space left Then when it gets to the Acer eRecovery thing where it said something about Partition but it disappeared too quickly I thought maybe I should've choose Partition So on the Win Install Windows program I chose Repair your computer and check to see that Win is in my D drive and Vista is in my C drive When I went back to reinstall I formatted Partition my C drive to make room for the installation and have backup all my files on disc But same thing happened acer eRecovery gets in the way at the end and I can't go anywhere else Then I went back to quot repair your computer quot again in Windows Install thing to see that now Vista is gone and Windows has moved from D drive to C drive Does that mean that Windows is completely installed on my laptop but acer eRecovery is stopping me from using it I also went to quot command prompt quot and type in fixboot but it was quot not recognised quot Do I really need to restore If Windows is successfully installed why can't I just boot up my computer and use it Can I get pass this eRecovery thing Everything is in full screen so my laptop is pretty much useless now What do I need to do now Sorry for writing a tad too much S but that's what i tried so far Please help Thank you

A:Acer eRecovery not working, plus a recyclebin problem.

Can you perform the eRecovery from within Windows? Some OEM's like Acer and Dell include this functionality via Windows under Start Menu.

If you are experiencing random wifi drops and you are using the OEM operating system, try uninstalling the empowering eLan management software. If the problem persists, then it could be a router issue and would suggest trying to connect to another network and see if the problem duplicates.

I had to look up BartPE to see what it was but I think it's unlikely to save the day in your situation.

Assuming that your priority is to get Windows 7 back I'd first check that you have the Microsoft authorisation code for your copy. If it was pre-installed on the laptop there will be a hidden restore partition and you could try holding down the Alt key while tapping F10 to access it. Failing that option I'd download a Windows 7 SP1 ISO, burn it to disc, reinstall the OS and hope that there are no serious driver problems. Both options mean that everything you have installed and saved will be lost unless you have already made backups.

A:Acer Extensa 5635G nVIDIA video driver problem

Hi fett400.

I bought an Acer Extensa 5635ZG recently and had the same problem with my NVIDIA GeForce G105M 512 Mb Turbo Cache. After many attempts to install the right driver, I connected Windows update to do its job. One of the first Windows update downloaded and installed was about Nvidia graphic cards and the problem finished. However, it happened while migrating from Vista Home to Win.7 Pro 32bits, so I don't know whether the same procedure will fix it for Win.7 Ult x64.

Good luck.

A:Solved: Acer Desktop 5620 Won't Start

Hi there.

Have you tried the battery discharging trick as of yet?

That battery that you see if the "CMOS battery" and it is responsible for storing the motherboard's ROM settings. Remove it for about 20 minutes (or longer) and re-insert it into the motherboard. See if that helps at all.

Boot using Acer HDD recovery partition. Press ALT+F10 during boot-up.

Select "system repair" or "windows system restore"

My Acer Extensa 4630z laptop sound/audio driver on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit not working. It was working few days before but stopped suddenly. I tried all the audio driver from Download Drivers and Manuals | Acer Official Site. By the way there is no audio driver for Windows 7 so I even tried Vista audio driver from same site but no luck. I tried Driver Pack solution 14 but it could not detect audio. I even installed new Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit but no luck it found automatically many drivers but not audio. Please help me figure out audio problem. I tried installing Realtek driver for Vista and Windows 7, no luck either. thanks

I'm having wireless connection problems with my Acer 5620 with Vista laptop. There are 3 different computers in the house and none of them have this problem but this one. It will connect but then 10 seconds later it disconnects and continues to do this. Its impossible to browse the internet or download anything. I'm computer-fixing illiterate so step by step would be helpful. Thank you!

A:Internet wont stay connected on my Acer 5620 with Vista

The first step is to make sure you have the latest driver for your wireless adapter. If it is an integrated adapter the driver should come from Acer's web site.

Hello,

I have an Acer Extensa 5420 computer and the operating system installed is Vista.

I'm having trouble with the Crystal Eye's picture-taking. I turn it on (works just fine) but when I click the "take picture" button, it briefly shows up in the gallery bar underneath and disappears. I can't for the life of me figure out where it is sending them or why they are not staying in the gallery below the pictures like they used to. I can't find any way to adjust or figure out where they are being sent to.

Thanks for any help ,
Sasha

If they aren't there, I suggest you try re-installing the webcam driver. You can download it from Acer's website. Select the appropriate website for your country here: http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/

Hi,
A warm hello to all members of this forum.

Recently, I got an Acer z5610 AllInOne computer.
Everything is installed and working fine.
The problem I have now, is that I need to install a second hard drive(64 bit SSD)

I opened the case, installed the drive, and windows recognised it immediately.

Now I want to change the system from old HDD to the new SSD. Is there a shortcut? Acer eRecovery doesn't seem to support system drive change.

Thanks in advance!

Hello ethanasi, welcome to Seven Forums!

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.

Be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Hi there
I have an acer Aspire laptop 5920G, it is about 4 years old with Vista Home Premium

I've used the installed Acer Erecovery backup program regularly when prompted by the application.
After the last backup all backup points has disappeared - it shows no backup points exist
Prior to this backup there were a number of points shown by the log.
The D data drive is about 1/3 full

As far as Acer goes my laptop dies not exist so I can't email their support site.
Could you suggest what I can do to access these points please?

Any help greatfully accepted.

Westwoodside

A:Acer erecovery error

Although there has been no response so far can I add some more info here?
Looking at drive D there is a hidden folder: erData.
In a sub folder there is one call Images. This clearly holds all the backup files, date stamped over the life time of my machine.

I've tried Acer support but there is no way of posting a question since the site all revolves around current machines.
Any suggestions please?

Hi and welcome.
If the 'built in eRecovery partition' is damaged in some way - you will never be able to restore it to factory settings.
Your only option may be to use a UBS Dvd drive and re-install Win 7.
Dvd drive similar to ones shown here.

I ordered a "Recovery Disc" and a "System Disc" for my "Acer Aspire M1100". The discs loaded correctly (I believe so). The "Acer eRecovery Management" is the problem, it has been loading for 6 hours now. Is this normal ? If not what can I do to fix this issue?

Thank you for any help.

A:Acer eRecovery Management

"Normal" to me means to use a Recovery disk to "recover" the computer's operating system to factory default condition. Is that what you did with the new Recovery disk? If not, what?

What is the System Disc? What does it contain or do?

What are you trying to do with the Acer eRecovery Management? (Whatever you are doing 6 hours does not sound normal.)

Hello, was looking in past postings and saw yours was not answered. Let me see if i understand this : The new hard drive works fine, but, it is the old hard drive giving you issues ? If that is what i am reading here , then would a wipe of the hard drive and reformat do the trick, it seems to be confused as to what to boot to.

Try wiping the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command from the Win7 installer or System Repair Disk accessing DISKPART At PC Startup.

Thanks.

A:Acer eRecovery slow

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Recovery from discs is always slower than using the on board recovery partition, but it shouldn't take more than two or three hours from start to finish when using discs.

Give it a bit longer as it can take some time to configure the files.

You need to get into the bios. You need to change the boot order to the CD drive. (one of the screens in the bios should have a way to set the boot from cd to the #1 spot. Once you do this the recovery cd's will work.

Hello,

I brought an Acer Aspire 3003LC with WinXP preloaded.
I brought it to try out Linux and are having fun with Ubuntu at the moment.
I removed the second 20gig ACERDATA partition as it was empty (I thought) to make room for Linux.
But I see now that eRecovery from eManager still tries to use this parition so the laptop slows when ever it tries.
My question is, how do I totally disable eRecovery? as I can do my own backups. Guess I should have done this before I removed the ACERDATA partition, ah? but didnt know about this feature.

Thanks

A:Solved: Acer eRecovery

Actually, may have solved this one.
I disabled check.exe using msconfig as it belongs to the Acer backup Manager which I do not require.

hi. i'm just confused about one of the options of the acer erecovery management,
the "restore operating system and retain user data" option. i'm thinking of
using it actually.

my current OS is windows7. originally, my OS was vista. there is also a backup OS for windows vista in my laptop (the one in the hidden partition).

i just want to ask: if i use the "restore operating system and retain user data"
option, will i be able to retain and use my windows7? and not the vista?

thanks... hoping for an immediate reply.

A:acer erecovery management

If your recovery partition has vista and you have win7 now on the system partition, I doubt you'll be able to use the erecovery options at all. Even if they work, they'll restore vista. If you ever want to restore vista, you'll probably need to mark the recovery partition active, then boot to it.

Once you overwrite with another OS, recovery partitions dont really make too much sense. Best strategy is to first backup an image of the current OS, then reinstall the new OS. That gives you a painless way of reverting to the earlier OS.

I have an Acer Extensa 5420 laptop running windows Vista home premium.
I am having a recent issue with it.
i was trying to use Windows DVD Maker to burn a dvd and after about 5 minutes of it encoding, the whole computer shut down no errors or shut down screen. it just shut down.
i have also experienced this problem with Reel Deal Slots: Ghost Town.
i was in the middle of playing and again it just shut down with no warning or errors.
it has not done this with any other programs i have.
is there a fix for this?

A:acer extensa laptop help

well i think i figured it out. i urned the computer over and took the bottom off and took the fan out and cleaned it. and the heatsink had about a quarter inch of dust buildup. so now everything runs fine.
i guess that windows dvd maker must be a big program that makes the computer get too hot. as for the reel deal game i guess thats the same. must be too much graphics and video and it gets hot as well.
anyway i can now burn DVD's again without a shutdown.

More likely that all the drivers you'll need are already built into Windows 7. Perform a clean install of Windows 7 and see for yourself. Do not upgrade from Vista -- that is the source of most issues on this board. Thanks!

You need either the BIOS password you provided when you bought the machine or the password you provided for the desktop, in either event we are unable to provide password assistance here due to the difficulty in proving ownership. You are best advised to contact your local Acer distributor for help and be prepared to provide proof of ownership.

So, I bought an Acer 5742 with Windows 7 last month, and I have reason to believe I was attacked by a virus.

Losing hope, I try using the 4 recovery disks GeekSquad gave me when I bought the computer.
I choose the option to restore my computer to factory defaults while backing up my personal files.

Everything goes smoothly up until the "updating system" part. According to the time-elapsed, it's been 10 hours since its been frozen on 99% (still on Disc 3 of the 4). I'm going to put in Disc 4 and leave it for another couple hours while I go to school.

If I don't see any changes, I'm going to force a shut down and reboot the computer.

Will this harm my computer, and possibly corrupt my system?

(also, I know it's only been 10 hours, but that's still pretty long for system recovery, don't ya think?)

Did you make the Recovery Disks. If so use them. If not try making them now. You can also order them from Acer Tech Support.

Or find a Win7 retail installer to clean reinstall with the Product Key on COA sticker which is a superior install. Details in Perfect Install link below in my signature.

A:Acer eRecovery Management glitch

90GB of data on your C: drive? It certainly is "clogged up"!

If you want to 'start afresh' with a clean installation of XP you need to do a recovery from the backup partition which should be on a hidden partition on your C: drive.

Here is the standard Acer Recovery Instructions:

1. Power on the machine
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
4. Click “OK” to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit.

IMPORTANT!

Back up all your user files (Documents, Pictures etc) to the D: drive before doing the factory recovery because everything on C: drive will be overwritten with new data!

If you then want to create a backup image on to a hard drive you'll have to use a third-party disk-imaging application as even the current version of Acer eRecovery is unable to do that.

Not sure if this is a Vista problem an Acrobat problem or an Acer problem I have an eMachine desktop with Vista Home Premium and an Acer Extensa laptop also with Vista Home Premium I've configured each machine the same way with primarily the same software Both are loaded with Acrobat Vista on & 6 Acer Extensa Acrobat Both machines are unable to run the Distiller to print to a PDF file which is an incompatibility Vista & Acrobat 6 on Acer Extensa with Vista that I can live with My problem is that on the eMachine Vista & Acrobat 6 on Acer Extensa I can open PDF files from IE but cannot on the laptop On the laptop I consistently get the message quot Cannot locate Adobe quot even though Vista & Acrobat 6 on Acer Extensa it's loaded on the laptop I checked that the Adobe PDF ActiveX control is properly enabled on both machines I also made sure the Acrobat preferences are configured the same way on both machines However when I change the Internet setting in Acrobat to open PDF files either in the web browser or from Adobe on the laptop I get a message about not being able to locate a file related to Netscape even though Netscape isn't loaded on the desktop or the laptop This does not happen on the desktop Some type of installation begins to take place but I cannot figure out what it's trying to do or if it's successful The only other thing that is different between the two configurations is the work around I'm using to get around the Distiller incompatibility On the desktop I have a Canon multifunction printer that has a PDF option so in addition to printing directly to the printer or to a fax I can print to a PDF file My laptop is setup to print to the same printer as a network printer but for some reason the PDF option does not work As a way to print to PDF files I loaded Win PDF Could this be part of the problem Otherwise I have no way to print to PDF files on the laptop Has anyone had a similar problem or figured out what could be happening With everything else being equal other than what I noted above I cannot figure out what's different between the two configurations nor can I figure out where to look or what to look for to see where there may be differences Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks

A:Vista & Acrobat 6 on Acer Extensa

If you have to use Acrobat you should at least be using the latest which is up to version 9,

Adobe - Adobe Reader Download - All versions

if for no other reason than this,

Attackers gun for Adobe flaw

Another option is to use Foxit instead,

Foxit Software

free like Reader, but far far lighter on the system (probably find more feature rich than Acrobat as well).

Hi all, just wanted to ask you all for any suggestions on how to fix this problem.

Shut down my laptop as normal lastnight, went to start it this morning and nothing.. the battery light says its fully charged but if i take the battery out and try using it with just the power adapter to start no lights at all come on and of course it doesn't start. I have checked the power adapter with multimeter and its putting out correct voltage.

I am out of warranty by 2 months

Also how do i find the switch that indicates whether the lid is open or not?
and where is the reset button located?

Thanks in advance for any helpful information

If you're getting the right readings for the power adapter then it might be a motherboard that's gone south. Try pushing the power button for 20 seconds and release. Then after a few more seconds push it again and see if it comes on..

Good day all,
I just bought an acer extensa 5220 notebook (XP Pro). I have not used it yet for work. It had Norton Internet security (trial version) installed. I prefer to use McAfee AV. I installed McAfee and restarted my notebook. However, i did not uninstall Norton. When notebook started up again it restarted after startup, it kept doing this over again, first showing blue screen before restarting (but too fast so i couldn't read the error message). So, i booted into safe mode and restored back to the time before McAfee was installed. It is stable for now.
My questions are:
Do you think my problem was because of not uninstalling Norton first?
Was i correct in using system restore (what are the repercussions if not)?
Does my notebook model support McAfee AV or was i wrong to try to install it and should stick with Norton?

I am grateful for any help. Thank you

When Power button is pressed, PC tries to start, power & hard drive lights lite, fan starts, screen remains black, then after a few seconds the PC shuts down, then it repeats this same startup attempt again once more, then shuts off and stays off. I thought it was a power adapter or battery problem, so I have replaced both, but the exact same problem continues. This is a 6 year old PC that was working great before it was stored for approx 4 months in it's case. Have tried the power Reset process with no change. Removed rear panel and blew some dust out of fan, no change. When power adapter is plugged in, the battery charging light is lit green. Any ideas out there?

A:Possible slew of issues, ultimately trying to run Acer eRecovery

Hello bloomer3Welcome to BleepingComputer ==========================One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan or rootkit. This type of infection has the capabilities to allows hacker to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files.I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.Though the trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:How Do I Handle Possible Identity Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud? When Should I Format, How Should I ReinstallWe can still clean this machine but I can't guarantee that it will be 100% secure afterwards. Let me know what you decide to do.If you still want to clean it please do the following===================Download TDSSKiller and save it to your Desktop.Extract its contents to your desktop.Once extracted, open the TDSSKiller folder and doubleclick on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application, then on Start Scan.If an infected file is detected, the default action will be Cure, click on Continue. If a suspicious file is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue. It may ask you to reboot the computer to complete the process. Click on Reboot Now.If no reboot is required, click on Report. A log file should appear. Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.If a reboot is required, the report can also be found in your root directory, (usually C:\ folder) in the form of "TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt". Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.========Download ComboFix from one of these locations:Link 1Link 2* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your DesktopDisable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Hi,

I'm trying to restore my Acer Aspire to factory settings and have run the eRecovery Management tool using the recovery discs I made when I got the laptop. This seems to work fine up until the time it reboots when it gets stuck on process 13/29. I have tried re-running this a couple of times but gets stuck at this point each time. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

A:Acer eRecovery not completing reboot - stuck at 13/29

Have you made any partition changes to the original set up? When you do the Factory Restore, you must make sure that you have two partitions( C:system and D: Data).
The hidden partition should be left alone.
