I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just got a free AMD Athlon 64 3500+ from my brother-in-law. He also gave me 4 sticks of 256mb Corsair XMS memory. Yesterday I went out and bought an ATi Radeon x850xt PE. I usually play Counter-Strike:Source. I have about $150 to spend on newegg and wanted your opinion on what motherboard I should get. Thank you everyone

A:Gaming motherboard

an a7n8x (is that what you mean by avn8x?) is the BEST gaming motherboard out there - dont bother with intel boards for gaming - they are several times the cost with a very little performance advantage over the AMD boards. Also a good choise on CPU - if you are going to buy some new ram (which i assume you are) buy DDR2700 (333) Corsair XMS RAM - it is not alot more expensive but considerably higher quality than run-of-the-mill generic ram.
as for the graphics card - i have never like ATi but thats personal - if i say that i would recommend a nvidia card - i would
a) be wrong
b) be shouted down by everyone else on the forums
so.....the Radeon 9700 is a very good choise of card and it is not overly expensive - and everyone else will recommend it - so with all that you should have a VERY good rig

Go with Asus, unless you value support. Asus creates some of the best boards. Don't get a cheap one and get one that's made for over-clocking. You will thank me later.

I'm building my first computer and would like to know which motherboard/CPU combo you guys would suggest. This computer is going to be used mainly for gaming and I've got a budget of about 200.00 for the motherboard/CPU. I'm know I'm not going to be getting the best with that kind of budget but what is the best for that price?

A:need a Gaming Motherboard/CPU combo

No problem, thats a decent budget for a good mb/cpu combo.

You will need to decide whether you want amd or intel. Sites i reccomend are newegg.com or tigerdirect.com.

Here are some of my suggestions:
Intel:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2180954&CatId=1599

Amd:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1965137&CatId=0

Or if you don't want to play around with rebates:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1739999&CatId=1619

For $200, you could get a sli board, and a decent cpu, or a non-sli board, and a better cpu, I would reccomend getting the better cpu, because sli is a big waste of money, but it's all up to you.

A:Gaming motherboard options

The i5 2500K is the best CPU in terms of value and perormance. A decent Z68 board with at least 2 PCI-E slots should be good to go.

AMD have disappointed with their FX lineup unless you're willing to get the top-end FX 8150.

"gaming" mobos are just labelled gimmicks.. because they have cool names and say theyre for gamers people think theyre getting a good deal..

now you say you dont intend to overclock.. 90% of that mobos features that are additional will be aimed at overclocking, that and the i3 processor not being a particularly strong cpu for gaming, id aim at something much cheaper with less guff you wont use.

Hello, right now i'm aiming at the Asrock z77 extreme4 it has a nice 8+4 power phase, pci-e 3.0 support, pretty nice overclocking board. The question, is there a better opinion for a bit lower price? I won't use crossfire or sli, so it seems useless for me on this board so if there is a better opinion it can be without sli/crossfire.

A:Choosing budget Gaming motherboard

I go to www.newegg.com for a quick look at what's currently available. (Unfortunately, they only do business in the USA and Canada.)

It appears that the best bargain in a Z77 board is the ASRock Z77 Pro3. It has slightly unusual dimensions (30.5X19.3cm, rather than 30.5X24.4cm for a full-sized ATX board), but it's not microATX. I'm not sure what you give up with it, but it has favorable reviews for a "budget" board. At Newegg, it's considerably less expensive than the Extreme4.

I've not used one.

Everything on there seems decent but I am curious about the board itself. Would the Intel Desktop Board DP55WB Motherboard be good for gaming, which I wish to use my computer mainly for. I have at most a 700 dollar budget and this seems like a nice deal for it. I plan on putting a Geforce GTX 580 graphics card in it as soon as I get the money as a little side note if it matters.

I'd suggest looking at the same chipset, but in either Gigabyte or Asus brands. Intel boards are fine, as much as it goes, but the BIOS is very limited as to configuration for different memory, and overclocking options. Intel really markets it's boards as mainstream items, intended for average users and businesses, they're not really aimed at the enthusiast.

The feature set can vary widely from board to board, and you should have a look at these pages to see which board has the capabilities you need;

Hi Guys This is my very first post on Windows Vista Forums and Ultimate 64-bit Gaming Windows Vista and Gaming Compatibility I am eager to get into this thread First off Windows Vista Ultimate is the very best you can buy for gaming This features the bit OS version which can process GB of RAM at top speeds you can find in a new OS I would definitely recommend this OS for gaming and none other Now on to the main part of my thread Compatibility Gaming This is the most discussed issue for gamers across the US The problem is how do you get games to work specifically older games on Windows Vista Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Gaming and Compatibility Gaming Ultimate Well there are solutions You could wait until the company of the game makes a OS patch for the game although that could take a while You could go into the game files and put the game into compatibility mode for your OS And You could revert back to an older OS that works for your game Which one would you choose I would choose They are always going to make games work on a newer OS Lets take the game Lord of The Rings Battle for Middle Earth amp Electronic Arts EA has already made a patch for those two that will have more chance of running on Vista If doesn't work then it's the type of computer hardware you are using The hardware would guarantee be outdated In that case just get more recent hardware It's not that difficult With a bit of research common sense and problem solving skills you can get gaming compatibility issues out of your hair I hope this thread has helped a couple of you out there Sincerely alienware Think I helped you out Click the scales Give me some rep Thanks

A:Building a Gaming Computer Gaming Low budget. Help.

The only thing that's missing is the power supply (the "PSU"), but we should wait until you select a CPU and video card - especially the video card. The PSU is an investment, so we have to make sure it's a good one.

Anyway,

RAM:

Go for a 2 x 4 GB kit or 2 x 8 GB kit. Your only choice right now is DDR3. The cost can vary from roughly $50 USD give or take $10-$20 to almost $200 USD and more.

CPU:

Which i5? 2nd Generation, 3rd Generation, or 4th Generation Core i5? The cost should be at around $200 give or take $10 to $20 USD.

Video card:

Try to avoid being loyal to one side or the other (NVIDIA or AMD) because some AMD GPUs are way better, but some NVIDIA GPUs are better.

The 128bit or 256bit is the bandwidth of the memory. The higher the number, the faster the memory can be in some ways.

The amount of memory you'd want is about 2GB, yeah. The more the merrier, but it mostly benefits textures.

You can go for any video card you want, but the GT 640 might not be an appreciable upgrade from the 410m. You'll notice it, but I dunno...

HDD:

Yeah, this is a little bit of a personal thing because take me for example: I have two 60 GB solid state drives and it's all I need. One is for Windows and programs, and the other is for things like My Documents and even my desktop.

Like the power supply, the hard drive is a bit of an investment, so try to get good ones.

Motherboard:

Not really. I would also like to see you build it instead of making someone do it for you. That way, you can make sure it's done right the first time. You won't need to know how to do anything because you can lean on us.

I also recommend posting this thread over on Overclock.net, but make it clear that you're not overclocking. They are very good at building computers.

A:MSI Z170a Gaming 3 or GTX 960 GAMING 100ME Issue?

7-31-2016 Update

Well no one replied yet to my post but I did some more testing and the result is as follows.

I did some more troubleshooting and cleared the CMOS, swapped monitors, tried another HDMI cable and reinstalled the 960 into the new build for testing but it still did not solve the issue. Still locked at 800X600 with error code 43 (Windows disable the device because of problems) in device manager and I'm concerned about how the card itself boots and lights the RED VGA led on the MSI board. I retested it in that PC that has the 600watt PSU and an Asrock board and while it did work at a higher resolution the card behaves suspiciously during powerup as.

1. Power on All Fans and MSI logo light up.... Monitor is Blue (active)
2. 5 seconds later MSI logo goes off... fans still spinning.....Monitor is Amber (No Signal)
3. 15 seconds later MSI logo comes on......Monitor goes Blue (active)
4. Once Windows loads fans stop spinning. (Normal)

**Note** This is similar to the way it boots in the problem system (no RED led on Asrock board)

So 20 seconds total to initiate a stable signal to me is problematic and this is on the test PC not the one I built BUT I still can't rule out a problem with this MSI motherboard as that RED VGA led still comes on for a few seconds when the GTS 450 is in there (even though it works fine) and I can't find an answer to if that's normal. Sent a "support" request to MSI and their reply was "Try the card in another system and try another card in your problem system" lol. They must not read carefully as this was already covered....hahaha.

So... I need some suggestions besides those I tried and if anyone has a MSI Z170a Gaming 3 board can you please post your startup sequence and let me know if it lights the RED VGA led light on startup?

A:BSOD with Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX970 in SLI while gaming

I've been having a very similar issue, I've only got the one Gigabyte 970 G1, and I've only really tested 2 games (AC Unity and Civ Beyond Earth) and while playing both after usually a few hours they'll freeze then I'll get a bsod. They're always Bug Check Code: 0x00000124 and all have the Crash Address: ntoskrnl.exe+4ae61c.

I've run windows memory diagnostic with no results, I've reseated my card, performed multiple clean driver installs, checked temperatures with no problems. I can't figure out what's causing it and this is the only similar problem I can find online. I really wish I could help but it seems we're in much the same boat

hello, Lazzi and welcome to the forums. I'll try to help you, but would you please upload the BSOD Posting Instructions here. I can't download the file you linked to without an account, plus we prefer them here. This will tell you how. Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

Also, please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

And also give as detailed a description as you can about your hardware including the Case, PSU and CPU Cooler, and place them in your system specs. These are the instructions I usually give and maybe it will help you.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

Hi Welcome to SF

Unfortunately the dumps you uploaded are all 0x124 errors which are hardware related
BSOD Index
My initial thought is as this is new machine i would return it to place of purchase as something is obviously not right, if you wish to look into this then...
Have a read of this thread it will give you some things to try
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
Analysing your dumps (they are all the same) they state an error with level 2 cache on your cpu

A:BSOD While gaming[moved from gaming]

Hello and welcome to TSF and thanks for the compliment.

I think this is your RAM. I need you to do a test...

Please download http://www.memtest.org// It's saved as an iso so you need to burn it to a cd and boot with it(yes it's legal). Make sure you run it for each stick, as in taking every stick but one then switching. I would recommend running them overnight(each).
You may want to dust your ram carefully!
Make sure you get no finger prints on the RAM as it may damage it.

So over the past couple of weeks i've been getting alot of BSoD while gaming on my laptop, the most common being failure to reset display drivers.
It seems to be a driver problem but I've tried re-installing them and it hasn't had an effect.
I wasn't sure how to properly do a fresh install so if someone could recommend a way of doing a fresh install.
Also more recently my GPU hasn't been appearing on my device manager randomly, but after a reset it comes back.
I've attached the dump files following the guides, not sure if I have done it properly though.
Help would be appreciated soon as I don't want this ?1000 laptop to die

A:Various BSoD while gaming and some randomly while not gaming.

Yeah, you are having problems with the Nvidia driver.

Your msinfo.32 shows that as disabled though, that could just be at the time the report was created.

Where did you get that driver, it appears to be a beta driver from Nvidia.

Have you tried just using the driver from the manufacturer? They usually modify drivers for their hardware.

I can see it is an older driver but that may be your best option,

MSI Global GT70 0NC 64

How is your laptop cooling? Have you made sure the cooling vents are clean?

All that being said, here is a useful guide for Nvidia drivers,

NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems

Try cleaning your laptop vents and doing a clean install of the driver from MSI to see if it makes a difference.

If you still want to do a clean install, this tutorial can help with that,

I've been looking for the front panel pin layout on the Dell Dual Xeon Motherboard with Dell P/N: 0WN7Y6 (it is a # zero, W, N, #7, Y, #6).
The front panel connector is 27-pin...28 spots with one pin left blank. The pin layout isn't included in the manual and I'm trying to boot two of these motherboards without the 27-pin connector. I just need to know which pins need to be jumpered in order to test for boot to BIOS.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi (a post after a long time)
I've a F90M motherboard (with intel 915G chipset - i gues chipset doesn't have to do anything with front panel connections, but ... ). It came out of Acer 3700GX PC (i think its a bit old ).
Ok, now i'm trying to put it in a standard larger ATX casing. I've fitted it in and everything works fine except the front panel connections. I cannot identify the front panel connections and could only manage to identify the power switch pins on the motherboard.

I've searched over internet and couldn't find a manual of the motherboard (found manual for the PC on www.nodevice.com but it doesn't tell how to connect front panel)

so can you guys please suggest me the connections for front panel LEDs, Audio and USB.

and i really believe that you TSG guys are up to it

Thanks in advance

I could use some creative customer service here. My M3800 shipped with the known power-on motherboard defect. It was replaced at no charge, which was very nice. However, the replacement (2nd motherboard!) is now having the same intermittent dead / no power problem.
To get the computer running, I have to remove the case (12 screws) and un-plug the internal battery to 're-set' the electrical fault. After I put it back together, the computer starts normally. This is not very convenient, especially when meeting with new clients.
The problem is that I am being told I am outside the 3-month repair warranty. I think this stinks! It's a known issue and I would like someone at Dell to step up make my expensive computer work normally all of he time.
Yes, I have run every diagnostic known to man and the internet.

Okay, so as the topic title implies, for the life of me, I cannot figure out which motherboard model I'm supposed to get for this Dell Inspiron 1300 here. Only info I have is that it has the Centrino sticker on the palm rest of the case, and I also have the service tag, but that doesn't seem to give me much information from what I've found.

I've taken the motherboard out of the thing and looked it over, but no luck, as I don't see the model number on it.

Will someone please tell me how I'm supposed to figure out the motherboard model number so I can get a new one?

hey guys, does anyone if there are any other drivers for this board? i'm looking at this page after selecting 'driver' and 'win7 64 bit'. http://gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3166&dl=1#dl i only see 'audio', 'chipset' 'LAN' and 'RAID'. on the other boards i've seen, the driver software was much more comprehensive and contained several different pieces of software.

what's the main driver i need to install after installing win7 for the motherboard? just wondering if i'm missing something and need to install something else for the 'main features'? or are there main features found in the BIOS before win7 boots up? how does win7 recognise the board btw? does the board have drivers built in already? how can winxp recognise mboards that have been made very recently?

thanks guys

A:Gigabyte motherboard: P55M-UD4 some questions on motherboard software

Those are all the drivers you need, and really all any motherboard needs to work. You also have some Utilities under the drop down menu of "Download Type" but these are optional tweaking and similar utilities not required for proper operation of the system. Any version of Windows will have limited driver support, enough to install and run until the correct drivers are installed, or for a SATA or RAID controller under Windows XP drivers are loaded via the F6 prompt during the initial stages of the XP install to allow it to detect the hard drive. There are no drivers built into the hardware itself.

I currently have a Dell 15r 5520 with no modifications. I have found a 15R 7520 motherboard on eBay to replace it but it says with no video. Hi and thxs for entering to this topic. plz help me looking for the best or very good gaming parts for my pc try to make my pc operative for 100% games at max setts.
My pc now is way outdated, i only have $1600.

PC specs now:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Dual Cpu 1.60ghz perfomance rate at 2.4ghz
Mainbord: Intel D945gcnl
Memory:1016mb (1gb)
Video Card: Intel 82945g (128mb) is almost not having a video card
Hard Drive: 160gb

A:Help me upgrading my not for gaming pc to a gaming pc!

if what you are saying is that you want to upgrade your old machine....i would not attempt to do do that. with $1600 you can build a gaming behemoth that will play anything on max settings. this is about $1100 which leaves you plenty for a 24" monitor and CD/DVD drive if you need them. you could also add a SSD if you want to improve load times as well. The GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD4P also has 2 PCIE slots for a future Crossfire/SLI upgrade. Also, if your not in a huge hurry, you might want to wait until March to see how the GF100's perform.

A:Is a 60" Samsung Plasma HDMI motherboard compatible with a 52" Sony Bravia HDMI motherboard.

No, it would not be, in the past I had to repair a tv for a friend that had his board shorted that was an LCD Sony Bravia 52 Inch and its board was very specific as with all Sony Products. The Boards on the TV's are the hearts and the companies that built them don't allow for parts to be interchanged easily. Your best bet is ebay and finding the part number to find a board, that's how I got the one I used to fix it.

obviously i wouldnt want to send it back so what do ya think either upgrade my motherboard and smash the extra 4 gb in there or keep to my original one i dont have money to blow atall im really struggling if its something that will really make a difference ill go with it if not then ill just keep to my original and when i come to buy a graphics card i will get a 2gb graphics card to help with gaming all i really do is gaming i dont really do anything else

thankyou for your time

A:Motherboard 4gb Max or change motherboard for 8gb ?

I'd go with 4 gigs until you had a major reason to believe it wasn't enough. If that ever happens, consider your next move. Most people do just fine with 4 gigs.

I considered 8 gigs on my 4 slot board but decided against it and don't regret it.

Right, You may have seen my posts about a faulty motherboard not giving video, If not then it doesn't matter to much because this is the story:
I needed to replace a motherboard as the old one was bad.
The New motherboard came, Still no Video, Dead motherboard
Sending the faulty one back for a refund

NOW heres the dilemma:
I can't find the motherboard again so I'm going to replace it with another ones (make/model not yet decided) But how do I go about installing the drivers for the new one? I've searched Google yet the only thing I could find is being able to boot up the computer to un=install the old ones? Is there anyway to do this without booting it up prior to installing the new MOBO? Many thanks, Mark ^^

A:New Gaming Rig ....

First if you plan to do overclock you should get DDR3 1600 or higher RAM instead of DDR 1333.. And your system is fast enough.... Being A+ Certified you should know system stable is the major important...

Second issue is what software you use to play bluray disc.... Window 7 not come with any software to play bluray... I don't know what software Asus COme with .... By mostly use CyperLink... They come with a Diagnostic to find what problem you have...

Wow! I have been saving for a long time for this and my new comp finally arrived. It is FX-55 based with some SLI action. I haven't even turned it on yet! I'll be setting it up over the next few days. Take a look.

Check out the Zalman cooler. It's huge!

Here is my SLI action.

Now if the thing doesn't melt down when I turn it on, I'll be ready for some gaming for the first time in a long time. Being a daddy takes away from gaming time.

Hey all. Not sure what category this would go under, but I figured gaming.. anyway, first things first, i'm completely new to this whole gaming on PC thing, i've 'never' owned a PC that was made for gaming before, so I'm not 100% sure about the specifications and all the technical stuff. It's always been consoles for me.. and i'm wanting to make the jump over now.

Anyway, just wanting some feedback on this build I'm going to be buying. What i'm wanting is a gaming rig that can run the latest games with no problems, and possibly won't need upgrading for a while.

Here's the link to it. (The description is a little down the page)

Also, i'm going to need a monitor. Which of these 24's would be more worth it? (Quality, picture, etc.)

Monitor 1

Monitor 2

Thanks guys.

Hello all, I just bought me a new pc ( HP Pavilion dv9925nr Notebook PC) and to go with the new pc, I bought Call of Duty 4. Just trying to play the Single player game resluts in very slow game play and unsmooth playing experience. I am pretty sure that I have updated my drivers which caused the game to become playable with everything off and at a low resolution. I am not sure on what specs I need to include but here is what have.

CoD 4 is going to put a heavy demand on your graphics chip, which wasn't really designed for heavy gaming in the first place. However, since it's such a great game, it would be a shame if you weren't able to enjoy it.

I would get the latest DirectX update: Latest DirectX Update.

After that, right click on the desktop, select NVIDI control panel. Under the Adjust Image Settings with Preview menu, use the slider at the bottom to run your drivers on "performance" instead of "quality", which is their default.

A lot of bad play may also be coming from your sound settings. I'd turn sound details to low and to off wherever given the option.

If it's still not quite there you can further adjust your 3D settings by going back to the nvidia control panel and using the drop down menu under program control to adjust call of duty iw3sp.exe

Nice system! making me wish I could afford it...

I'd recommend a better power supply, something like this. It's a very stable PSU, from what I've seen. Also, you might want to go widescreen w/your monitor; that's kind of up to you.

hope it works well for you (once youve got it built )

A:My new Gaming Rig...

Hello AstaLaVista,

You need to consider a few things in determining the sale price of your used computer -Hardware, software, age of components, price paid, person buying the computer - are they a gamer or casual user. A gamer may understand why you bought a $500 video card and be willing to negotiate, a casual user may not.

I've always found it difficult selling used systems because the price is usually almost always less than half of what I paid. And with computer prices constantly falling the question has to be asked - can I get a new comparable computer for the asking price of your used one? Take these into consideration and you should be able figure out a fair price. A little bit of homework goes a long way - even in selling.

As to building a new system, I would first come up with a budget on how much I'm willing to spend on a new rig. Then I would do some on-line price comparisons on the items I wish to get, put the rig together on paper, and go from there.

I'm not sure about a DDR2/3 combo MB?s but I'd choose on or the other. There are plenty of good DDR2 MB's around and prices are cheap...but the boards are getting old. Since you say you want your new system to last 2-3 years I?d seriously consider a DDR3 setup, especially when you consider that prices on DDR3 has dropped a lot.

Just my two cents.

Hey, i got a new power supply for my pc because my old one broke, i went from 650W to 500W, and whenever i play games online (counter strike source, league of legends) i get network lag on my ventrilo, but when i minimize the game, the lag stops, and when i close the game, the lag stops. i was wondering if it was because of my new power supply, or just my network, my specs are

ATI radeon hd 4830
AMD phenom 8450
2gb dual channel ocz 800 mhz ram
Asus m3n78 (i think ^^)

im still using pci-e and 20+4 pin motherboard connector, i havnt really changed much except the power supply itself.

so whats the problem?

A:Gaming with PC £600 Help

Hi.

If you want to run Skyrim maxed you need a lot of upgrades. You can look at my specs in the drop down and I still can't max out the distant objects detail and shadows. Definitely need a processor and gpu. Most likely that means a new motherboard, which in turns means new memory.

I would look into 2nd generation Intel i7's (they have 4 numbers instead of 3, like 2600) or the amd FX series which is comparatively a little slower, but they are also cheaper. The AMD Phenom II processors have come down a lot in price also, and the top end versions of those are very nice.

graphics cards you want at least an nvidia GTX560 or higher. I don't know a ton about ATI cards, but I think the equivalent is the radeon 6970, I'm not 100% sure though that could be a little be better. Again though like I said, I have a gtx 560 ti and still can't max it.

Long story short though, you will be hard pressed to come in under you budget. I'm not sure on a the pounds to dolars conversion, but your looking at 250-300 for processor, and about the same for the video card. not to mention the motherboard and memory you will need to upgrade those parts. If you could find a motherboard with one of the newer sockets that supports your memory, that would be nice.
Hope this helps you some.

Hi guys, I recently bought a pre-built gaming desktop. I usually get 40-45*C when idle, and around 60-70*C when playing games like Skyrim or Crysis 2. Is it normal?

OS: Windows 7 home premium service pack 1
Power supply: Silver Power SP-SS500 500W

Any idea how I can keep the temperature down?

This is what I got after play Crysis 2 for around 45 minutes:

A:Too hot for gaming?

I wouldn't say those temps are horrible and will kill your system. However, staying cool will usually prolong the life of your parts and prevent all sorts of weird issues.
Take a look here: http://www.techspot.com/community/t...art-I-cleanliness-is-next-to-coolness.180136/
You may find some ways to lower temps. There's also a part 2 of that guide and you can find it in the "guides" section of the forum.
Hope this helps!

Oh and btw are you experience any overheating symptoms? ie. crashes, restarts, bsod's, FPS drop, etc.?

A:Also new to gaming PC

I cannot recommed wireless to anyone.

To put it simply, wireless is half the speed of internet through a cable, because cables can send/receive data at the same time.

However, wireless sends, acknowledges, then receives. So no, do not get that. I recommend some form of broadband.

And whats the pricing of the pc you bought?

edit: Wireless is used for laptops and convenience. Scour the internet with it, nothing more.

A:best os for gaming

Desolator,

I think you'll find that everyone will have a different opinion on which is best. I built a new PC recently and installed Vista Home Premium x64. My old PC has XP Pro. Seems that both work equally well for gaming to me at least. I have had no OS related problems running games with Visat x64. I would have no reason to downgrade my OS back to XP Pro.

I really need help. I'm planning to buy a cheap cpu for gaming for my son and this is the specification the salesman gave me.

> Intel E3300 (2.5G) 1mb 800FSB CDC
> MSI G31 TM-P31 G31 Vpcie/S/L
> Kingston 2GB 667/800 ddr2
> Sparkle 9500GT 1gb ddr2 128bit
> 320 Western digital SATA
> Creative SB 5.1 VX PCI

I want to know if the specification is good for gaming like Bioshock, far Cry 2, Resident evil like that.?
What O.S. should i use Xp pro or Window 7? I'm new in building cpu so pls. bear with me.

When win 2k first came out it wasn't very multi media friendly and games didn't work very well on it. Is this still the case or has it improved since then with updates etc?

I'm hoping this topic hasn't been beaten to pieces, but a few months ago I installed Windows XP Pro and soon after found I couldn't play a couple of already installed games, as well as get a couple of other things to work such as Create CD and a thing or two with my DVD player. Shortly after I got rid of XP and reverted back to my ME where all these things worked just fine as before. Now I want to reinstall XP Pro but with some help when I run into these same possible problems and others which may crop up. So,,,,,,,,help me please anyone!! Updates? Patches? Tricks? Thanks in advance

A:XP Pro and gaming?

the best way would be to dual boot XP and ME......that way you get the best of both worlds...........if you need any help or info on this, just ask.

good luck
