Mediaplayer will not add to library

Q: Mediaplayer will not add to library

I have used Mediaplayer 11 for about a year. Iopened last week and it stated that there were no items and I had to add my music to my library. I try to do this by specifying where the player should monitor but nothing happens. When I go back to that window my manually added folders have disappeared. I have rolled it back to media player 10 but it states that the file wmplayer11 is where wmplayer10 should be and asks if I want to download the newest mediaplayer. I have done this many times, done a system retore, run a virus check, even tried to remove it from the computer, and start over, but it will not let me do it. I am at a loss. I cannot get this to work whatever I do. Any help that I could get from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The Picture It! Library and Digital Image Library do not display temporary files. By ignoring temporary files, the Library can remain clean and uncluttered. An issue has been identified where some software marks photos as temporary files when they are acquired from the camera. This patch enables the Library to view these temporary files.

The software currently known to mark new files as temporary is Canon Utilities ZoomBrowser version 4.1.0.46.

Did you create a new library with the same name or a different name? When you go to Libraries, and you right click and select properties on Documents, do the attributes match what you find when you right click and select properties on your new library?

if i reinstall media player 11 will i mess up any music files ? album covers that i canaccess wheni want play any of my music

A:mediaplayer 11

It shouldn't. When you reinstall WMP both the WMP database and the music files themselves are untouched. However many people have reported problems with album art when using WMP 11, so if you have Windows XP you might be better off rolling back to WMP 10.

Better yet, don't use WMP at all and get MediaMonkey.

I am using windows and have all my itunes on an external home network drive. Everything is all set up and all new files are written to the drive. The problem is that if I add music from a cd to the library it is only recognized by the computer that I did it on and not recognised by the other computer. How do I make both computers recognize all content in the library?

I bought a media player for my family for Christmas this year, this was they can watch any videos that we have on our computer, on our TV. This may have been a good idea if it had worked. The model number is: HM2-SU2TV, i have a link of the exact media player I have at the bottom. I bought a SATAII hard drive, like the box said I need and the guy at the place where i bought it, confirmed i needed. Plugged it in the media player and then into my computer but the computer doesn't even recognize that there is anything plugged in. Help?

Hiya and welcome

Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Actions | Save as Text file and copy/paste the contents here.

Also, go here and download AddAware http://tomcoyote.com/lsindex.html

Download and run, ensuring that Deep Registry scan is enabled. Remove all except any references to Web3000 or new.net. If you're unsure, copy/paste the list here.

Also, whilst you're there, download and install RefUpdate to get the latest updates. Just click Connect.

I am running Win 98SE with a CDrw on my PC.

I ma now trying to copy a CD from the feature in Mediaplayer 7.1 and the error I got is No CD recording device found in your system. Is something that I do wrong? Please help.

Thanks

A:Copy CD from Win Mediaplayer 7.1

Some quick things that might help fix it or might supply info needed to correctly trouble shoot it:
Do you have the most recent drivers?

Go into the device manager (start, settings, control panel, System, device manager tab), go to the DVD/CD-Rom group (or something to that effect), and expand the list. Make sure that your CD-RW is listed there and there are no errors/warnings anywhere.

If there are no warnings/erros, your CD-RW is in the profile, and you have the most recent drivers, my personal guess would be that Mediaplayer 7.1 is messing up.

The Windows Debugging Tools aren't able to access symbols for your operating system files (in particular NTOSKRNL.EXE / NTKRNLMP.EXE / NTKRNLPA.EXE / NTKRPAMP.EXE) from the Microsoft Symbol Server - so that makes debugging them difficult if not impossible.

Please do the following:
- activate/validate the Windows installation at Genuine Microsoft Software
- run sfc.exe /scannow to replace any problem files
- open a support incident with Microsoft to see if they can fix the missing symbols issue ( Windows 7 Solution Center )
- If that doesn't fix it, then wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows
- don't use "leaked"/torrent builds

My mediaplayers (real+wmp9) have stopped playing mpeg-video files. They have no problem with avi or wm video files but just with mpeg format. I do not get an error message but the player is continuously "seeking" everytime I try and play them. These files work however with alternative player like vlc.
I have done the following but still have the same problem:
1. Downloaded latest directx
2. Downloaded latest drivers for graphics card
3. Updated to mp10, and reinstalled realplayer
4. decreased hardware acceleration,
5. Reinstalled codecs
Any ideas ?

When viewing media on WindowsMediaPlayer the video disappears after maybe 30 seconds or so. The audio remains, the progress bar keeps marching, but no video. The problem is intermittant but a little more 'mittant' than it is 'inter'. My computer is an old 1.1ghz Asus running XP Pro and MediaPlayer9. 10 didn't help. I haven't noticed that the media format makes a difference. Has anyone else encountered this and is there a solution?

I don't know whats going on but if I go to options and click on Monitor Folders and find my folder where all of my music is located.

WMP11 finds all 24002 files but says "0" added when completed. I basically have no library and I'm not able to add the files to the library.

I've restarted my computer, I've deleted the watched folders and added them back without any luck.

A:WMP11 finds my song library but won't add it in the library?

First turn off Monitor Folders and leave WMP open in the library view. To add songs to the library, select the music file folder(s) in Windows Explorer then drag-and-drop them into the WMP window.

If that doesn't work, delete the WMP database http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925718 and try again.

My libraries file, Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos had developed a problem.

When I click on Pictures, the picture folders appear, but immediately below, my document files appear as folders also.

If I delete a document file in the pictures file, the document also deletes in the documents file.

If I try to move the document file from the picture file to the document file, a window says its an Identical sub folder and won't go any further.

How can I remove the folder list of documents from the picture file without destroying those documents in the document file?

I think that this problem developed as I loaded an ArcSoft program to read slides into my computer.

Thanks,

Jimbow

EDIT This issue has been solved Hi there This problem is slowly driving me crazy and I d appreciate anyone s insights My default Pictures library has somehow become a permanent clone of my Videos library It s not that it s a copy of Videos it s that both libraries have merged into the same entity The quot Pictures library-ms quot file literally does not exist Windows is using one file and one set of options yet displaying it as if there were two libraries And it stubbornly refuses to acknowledge that quot Pictures quot can or should exist If I delete one of the quot Videos quot both links remain visible until I refresh the Explorer window which makes them both disappear If I try to delete one and then the other Windows says it Library My Videos Solved: My Pictures Library Ate can t find the file which makes sense since the individual quot Videos library-ms Solved: My Videos Library Ate My Pictures Library quot file is already gone If I delete all of my libraries and then select quot Restore default libraries quot both duplicates reappear as before No quot Pictures library-ms quot is ever created I can manually create a new library called quot Pictures quot but it doesn t Solved: My Videos Library Ate My Pictures Library affect the presence of the duplicate Videos and other applications such as Windows Media Player do not recognize it as the official Pictures library WMP only shows images in the Videos folders and if I select quot Manage Pictures library quot from the WMP navigation pane it opens the options for the Videos library Strangest of all is this if I delete all libraries and don t restore them manually a quot Videos quot library will automatically reappear at some point no more than hours later I can delete it when this happens but it will continue to reappear at regular intervals I ve tried editing the registry to completely disable the Libraries feature as seen here and then reenable it using the factory defaults but this doesn t make a difference Since that patch completely removes the default libraries properties from the registry I have to conclude that Windows stores additional library data elsewhere but I haven t had any luck finding it I would really appreciate any suggestions nbsp

We have a GPO setting "Prevent users from adding files to the root of their Users Files folder" as we do not want users to be able to add files to their Roaming User Profile.

This GPO causes an error when a New Library is attempted to be created.

I just bought a Freecom Network MediaPlayer-35 from e-Bay with a Maxtor Diamond 500GB drive pre-installed.
It works just fine apart from one major concern.
The installed drive generates quite a bit of heat, now this wouldn't be so bad if it was bolted into a computer chassis with the metal contact and air circulation to take the heat away but this media player is all plastic and the silent fanless feature is a bad thing I think.
I took the drive out of the player after an hours operation and it was too hot to touch, I guess it might have been 70 degrees C or more.
My question is this, can I expect a decent lifespan from the drive at this temperature?
Has anyone used one of these players with such a disk drive before and left it on for several days in hot weather?

Finally! True way to get Windows Mediaplayer Taskband (AKA, Taskbar Toolbar) back in WMP 12.

I found this whilst trawling on askvg.com

How To
(I have tested this on Win7 Ultimate x86 and can confirm it works for both music and video.)

with Vishal's permission could a Mod or Admin please make it into a tutorial for our users, and host the required .dll file here?

NB. when it comes to registering the .dll file it's best to run an elevated command console and run the registration script from there. Don't forget to restart the WMP NSS!

!

I used the prior method he mentions about downloading the WMP 12 exe file. It worked ok. The exe file came with an unistaller but the author made mention not to use it. What the heck, worst it could do is make WMP not work which I felt could be fixed by removing WMP from the remove windows components screen and then re-adding it. I clicked his uninstaller and it actually worked. Next time WMP was launched, I got the initial WMP options screen to pop up for choosing my default options/settings. After doing that, I implemented the shorter method you mention. It's still not great but works for the most part. Visualizations don't work in it, and the always non transparent black color of the taskband is an eye sore. Anyone know what/which item/items would need to be changed in order to change that black color of the taskband toolbar? I read on another post that it was in wmploc.dll. I found an image that was similar to the taskband in wmploc, I changed the color of it, saved it and replaced the wmploc.dll only to still have the black one.

XP; MP 11, Samsung widescreen monitor: After installing the Samnsung, video in media player is terrible, I looked for downloads from Samsung, tried help menus in both MP & Samsung, and tried adjusting View settings--nothing works. It is like the contrast is turned up very high and the color red, looks green!
The funny thing is, Windows MovieMaker does not have bad video or Quick Time or Picture View--only MP, so it doesn't seem like it is the new monitor.
I have spent hours trying to figure this out and found this forum--sure hope someone has a fix!

A:MediaPlayer 11 poor video

good news, it's not your monitor!! to play movies in media player you need codecs, me personally don't bother with that, only use media player for music and vlc media player for movies.

if you're interested, go to:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

if you really want your movies to work in media player, have a look at these video codecs:
http://www.free-codecs.com/

i've used k-lite a few years ago, worked perfectly:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

...the reason why moviemaker is working, is because it's using it's own video codecs.

I get warbly, choppy, dirty, distorted sound whenver I try to play a sound file of any type using REalAudio (jukebox or player) and Windows Media. I have deleted and reinstalled both. I have no problems with my soundcard when using other sorts of sound players or my CD. I have walked through the Windows Sound Troubleshooting helpful but to no avail. The problem occurs regardless of whether the file is on the harddrive, in another program that uses windows media or streaming sound from the web. I am running Windows 98

Currently using Mediaplayer 6.4.07.1124 and thinking of upgrading to Version 9.

Does 9 install over 6, or does 6 have to be uninstalled first

What differences as far as picture/sound quality are there between 6 & 9?

Are there any particular things I should be aware of when setting up 9?

A:98SE MediaPlayer 9.0 Installation

no need or to uninstall 6.4.

it's a world of difference in the presentation, capabilities and features.
sound/video quality are dependent whether onboard/shared memory or individual cards.

i have 9.0 on the 98se machine.

no.

Since downloading DX9, I get the occasional but annoying error message when downloading video clips. There doesn't seem to be any logic or particular clip, but the 'error in line ---' does change. It began in 'line 0' and, at the last count, was up to 'line 25'. With each error message, I get the offer to 'debug'. I haven't, mainly cos I've no idea why the problem occurs or, to be honest, what debugging entails. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I've had a problem opening iTunes for the last week on my laptop (Windows XP) and wonder what can be done about it. Every time i try to open it a box comes up saying "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close - send error report?" This is so frustrating cos i can't even get into it to see what's wrong, it won't open at all.

Also, at the same time as when that began, i also couldn't open DVDs wih MediaPlayer anymore (the same box would come up saying "send error report?".

i can play dvds with DivX instead and i guess if i really had to i could back up all the itunes and load it again, but is there anyone who knows if there's an easier solution, and what the link is between the problems with iTunes and MediaPlayer, and what may have caused the problem?

Many thanks, Oliver

Lately I've been getting a pop-up message when I open Internet Explorer and go to a site containing WindowsMedia Player when I want to listen to streaming media. It states the following: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE is attempting to change or view this computer's Internet Connection Protection settings. To give C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE permission to edit these settings for as long as the program is open, click YES. What is that? The path it mentions appears to be from my own machine. With that in mind, shouldn't my computer already know what the settings are? This is a little disconcerting.

It seems that almost any movie I try to play in mediaplayer (mp10) I keep getting an error message. "Secure storage protection error. Restore your licenses from a previous backup and try again." I've done nothing to my media player other than update to 10. I can't seem to restore them either. Is there a fix for this?? I don't have media player on my add/remove list so uninstalling the usual way is not going to work. What can I do, there are some practical jokes and car videos I am missing.

Hi,

I encountered the following problems after installing windows7 upgrade.
After completing the windows 7 installation the media player 12 is NOT installed (and I can't find it anywhere on my computer. Reinstalling windows 7 several times doesn't help).

Furthermore, I can't install live products such as moviemaker. After installing the error wmvcore.dll is missing pops up. I've tried the following advise, but no succes.... Wmvcore.dll - Wmvcore.dll Not Found Error - Missing Wmvcore.dll - Fix Wmvcore.dll

All other functions seem to be working fine. I had no such problems before on Vista, I have uptodate antivirus software. I assume the problems mentioned above are interrelated. Any advise??

Many thanks

A:No mediaplayer after upgrade from vista to windows7

Start over, this time do a clean install. Use windows easy transfer, to transfer your email, favorites etc. Now, begin as you did the previsous time. This time choose custom intall. When asked for your product key, do not give it. When completedr use easy transfer to get back your settings etc. then install all of your programs. When you are happy with what you have activate and make a system image.

It sounds like you did a upgrade which never works out entirely correct, you should have done a clean or custom install.

This started while on Amazon.com. Always there is a Shopping Assistant [ads by rightcoupon] along the right side of the page along with a little pop-up Best Value list of other places/prices to purchase said item. Sometimes, I will be notified in a pop up box that I've won something, I click no thanks, and the amazon page then defaults to a "this item not found" page.

There will also  be a new tab opened that tells me to update my browser, but upon further investigation, it wants me to update MediaPlayer that is part of my browser (Firefox 40.0.3). I don't think I ever did click on it

I've tried all kinds of apps to remove thism but have never seen than anything at all has been added to my programs list in my control panel. Obviously, I'm not going to figure out this one on my own. I'll gladly welcome help!

A:avg scan removed songs in mediaplayer help! to restore

Hi soaringeagle

If the music mainly arrived via LimeWire or any other peer-to-peer sharing setup, AVG was doing its job by deleting them. It wouldn't have prompted for the deletion if the files didn't include malware. To restore the music would be to massively reinfect your system (which might not yet be completely clean, if AVG has been the only cleaning tool used).

If the music was purchased via iTunes or other online store, I believe proof-of-purchase is stored on the vendors servers, and you can contact them to download them again at no further cost.

Once your computer has been compromised, malware can infect legitimately purchased files just as easily as any other. That's why it pays to have a good firewall & antivirus program installed and active, keep Windows up to date via Automatic Updates, and to patch plug-ins (especially Adobe Flash & Adobe Reader) regularly.

The last thing you want to do is to restore infected files.

I have about 40 titles that will not go away in my "now playing" list. I can erase the list, but if I pick any song from my library that was on that list, the entire list reappears, replacing the songs I have chosen, and mediaplayer starts playing all the songs (from this persistent list) from that title on. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the mediaplayer and this same list persists. Is there a file somewhere that I can delete to get rid of this?

A:How to get rid of the library?

Hello Kahill, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Libraries let you access and arrange items from one or more folders quickly without moving them from their original location. Libraries themselves don't store your files or folders. Instead, they point to different locations on a hard disk or external drive attached to your computer. This gives you easy access to a category of files no matter where they are stored. For instance, if you have music files on your hard disk and on an external drive, you can access all of your music files from within the "Music" library.

If you are still set on removing them, then this will help show you how to with an easy option to restore them later if you should decide to.

Libraries Desktop Icon - Add or Remove

and

Libraries Folder - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Q: Library

Hello,

Someone was on my laptop today, and I noticed they had a window opened called Library. It looked like a list of files or something. I would like to know what this is, just to make sure nothing related to the operating system can be corrupted by using this program. Also, how can I access it myself? Thank you.

I am using Vista Home Premium on an Acer Aspire 5920.

A:Library

HiI noticed they had a window opened called Library. It looked like a list of files or something. There's no program in Vista called Library unless of course you have installed one. There is however a program in Windows to view files and folders. The program is called Windows Explorer.Follow this link to see how to use this program. http://tutorials.beginners.co.uk/using-windows-explorer.htmI would like to know what this is, just to make sure nothing related to the operating system can be corrupted by using this program. It is possible to delete files and folders using Windows Explorer. If you are already aware of Windows Explorer and it is not the program you saw then please try to supply further info about this mystery program which will help in its identification.

Q: Library

Hi everyone, I am not sure if this is the best section to post it in, but its my first time posting on here...

I have never seen this happen before and I would like to know how to fix it.

When you go into your Libraries folder you will see "Documents, Music, Pictures, and Videos"

When I click "Pictures" I see my pictures folder which is what I only want in there..
But I see 4 categories along with it as drop down menus.

They are "Public Pictures" "My Documents" and "Public Documents" I don't know how those even got there, but I was wondering how to get rid of them..

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thank you!

Edit: Nevermind... Solved my own problem..

A:Could not load the DLL library?

Hiya

Are you still having this problem? If so, when you uninstall it, delete the folder for it under C;\Program Files in Windows Explorer.

Then, restart and try the download again.

If still no joy, Lets take a look at a log. go to http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Also, did you download the Beta version, or the previous version:

I subscribe to ZoneAlarm and have never had problems before now. When trying to install the update (80_059_000_en), it said to shut down TrueVector Services, but I seem to have solved that problem. Now the error is that it cannot load the DLL library, and it says access denied. It shows a file name ending with vsutil.dll.

I cannot get my current version of ZoneAlarm to open either.

I have tried cleaning my registry, with both Abexo and Eusing, but the error is the same.

Thanks.

A:ZoneAlarm DLL library

Registry cleaning is typically not the smartest idea. That will only damage your system. I would say to start by removing any current version of zone alarm via add/remove programs. Then go to the program folder for zonealarm post uninstall and delete it. Then just download ad install the latest version of the software.

Help - I have a windows 2000 system that is now complaining everytime I appear to open a folder/control panel/...
basically it appears to be an internet explorer script error..
Error Msg is 'Library not registered' and the url it refers to changes depending on what I'm doing - for the control panel - it's file://C:\WINNT\Web\controlp.htt

I've reinstalled Win2k SP2 and even upgraded from IE 5.5 SP2 to IE 6 - but still the same problem.. it gets worse because if I open the Computer Management window the Local Users and Groups icon has a big RED CIRCLE with white cross on it and opening this gives a similar message 'Unable to access the computer xxxxxxx. The error was: Library not registered'

Anyone have any ideas how to rectify this one - without having to completely re-install!!!!
Thanks!

A:Library Not Registered!!

That is most likely going to be either a registry error or a damaged htt file. If it is a registry error, then you might as well re-install, these are almost always a clsid key and there are thousands of them in the registry.

Try booting from a CD and repairing the OS. If you have an ERD, use that when prompted.
You could try copying the controlp.htt from a second computer to the bad one.
You can also try removing folder customizations from each folder.

(BTW the htt file is a hypertext file used in windows help and folder customizations)

Easiest to just add the current photo location to the Library.

Right click the Pictures library
Select Properties
Press the Include a folder button
Navigate to the location your pictures are stored
Press the Include folder
Adjust where it appears it the Library by left clicking and dragging
If you want it to be the default save location highlight the location and press the Set save location button.
Press the OK button

I downloaded songs into my itunes, everything was workin fine
then i had to reimage my computer for a different reason
i plugged in my ipod and downloaded itunes again
but the library was messed up, it doesn't show my old songs
it shows my folder under DEVICES
and a new folder under SHARED

how do i get my old folder back with my old songs?
if not how can i delete ALL the songs from itunes and my ipod.
I tried doing it manually but the delete option doesn't come up when i right click.

i know it's really frustrating but ny help would be appreciated.
