I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

there is the compatible CPU list for ur mobo:

and as U can see the only opteron supported is the 1210 not ur 1216

As the title suggest, can you clarify to me if I can run a ddr3 2133 on Gigabyte H81M-DS2 which according to the website (Gigabyte) that it supports only up to 1600 of DDR3. I have a 4GBx2 of DDR3 2133 G-Skill, others say I can use XMP to use the advertise speed of the ram which 2133Mhz. Currently my ram is running at 1600 which the defualt speed. Will it break my system?

A:Gigabyte H81M-DS2 running a DDR3 2133Mhz

Anything over the specified limits will create room for error and instability. You can technically run the RAM at the rated speeds from my understanding, but it's not guaranteed that it'll work without any problems.

Evening, all

I bought an interesting little Single Board Computer as an mITX motherboard (a WADE-8020, more info at the link below):

I have another similar board in an old Hoojum Cubit 3 case, and was wondering if anyone might have any other suggestions for a similarly eye-catching case, probably ready-made, though I'm not averse to either buying a DIYed case, or maybe trying to make one myself (I have a Dremel but not much else, and that includes skill )

Cheers, Jon.

Hi, I just bought a GB Windforce 770 4GB. It has an asic quality of 83.5%. How far have you guys taken this card on the stock cooler?

A:How far have you OC'ed your Gigabyte 770 Windforce 4GB on stock cooler?

According to this write up, you wouldn't get much more out of the card. They mention the card is already clocked near its maximum.

Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB Windforce 3X Benchmark and Review - Page 5 of 18

With our favorite overclocking tool MSI Afterburner we couldn?t get any where when it comes to overclocking. However, with EVGA Precision we managed to slightly bump up the voltage which enabled us to reach a stable 1280 MHz for GPU and 7484 MHz for memory which, we must state again is a very nice overclocking endeavor, especially if you take into a count that we were dealing with a cards voltage that has been locked in the BIOS. Now since the card was already overclocked to its maximum we knew we won?t get much out of it. +50 MHz (1280 MHz w/boost in total) and +233 MHz for memory making it 7484 MHz respectively is probably the maximum you can get from any GTX 770 unless your really really lucky.Click to expand...

Hey all,

On my studio pc, I've installed a new rack mounted firewire audio interface in the studio. On the other drives (windows 8.1) the interface has installed perfectly but on the xp drive, although the drivers etc have been installed, once set, it works perfectly with the new outboard soundcard.

However, whenever I reboot to the xp drive, xp always reverts back to the on-board realtek sound card. I set the default to the new interface (a Presonus Firestudio Project) but every reboot it defaults to the realtek.

The motherboard is a P5N-E SLI if that helps.

How can I stop this happening so the new interface is the default?

Thanks in advance,

Hi guys, I've currently ordered the MSI Mobo (in the title) and it's overdue, I wanted to build my PC yesterday, contacted Amazon and they said they can offer a refund, but it's in the post so it may turn up still.
Because of this, I accept their refund (rather than opting to wait until Jan 10th for the earliest replacement shipping date) and ordered the Gigabyte Mobo also in the title on Amazon Prime (gotta love free trials) to have it delivered tomorrow.
My question is, which one should be better? - or rather, what's the main differences? I'll keep the one I prefer, and arrange/ cancel returns where appropriate.

A:Confused with my Gigabyte I/O shield

Occasionally you have to make adjustments the I/O shield when you install it. It has happened to me before but it's not a big deal. You will have to remove the round port holes in order to allow the antenna ports to poke through. For whatever reason they neglected to do so at the factory but for your model motherboard you will have to punch them out. As for the other "tab" thing the metal is springy so you can either bend or pull the tab up slightly to clear the USB port or, when installing the motherboard at a slight angle, you can slide USB port in from underneath the tab and then up and push it home toward the back. I hope that wasn't too confusing.

Hello guys, I've got a simple question I'm looking for anyone who tried to OC this card and could tell me his or hers experience with it. Whether it runs too hot. What is the perfect clock speed and etc.

Thanks for any replies.

A:Gigabyte GTX 780 GHz overclocking

I have one - in an SLI configuration with an EVGA SC.
Without upping voltage mine doesn't really OC that well ( 1070MHz core vs 1020MHz it ships with). Add a bit of voltage and it hits 1120 core (1225 boost) easily enough. It can go a little higher, but the EVGA can't keep pace (the Gigabyte is B1 silicon). Be aware that the Gigabyte's stock clock means absolutely nothing. Gaming with the card will peg the frequency at 1160-1198 depending upon the game or benchmark. Here's a Heaven run to show what I mean...

A:Three long beeps on Intel desktop board D850MV/D850EMV2

I think three beeps on Intel is a memory issue. At least that what it was when I had a stick of cheap RAM crap out on me.

I'd run Memtest and go from there

RAM can fail from a number of causes. Heat exposure, flaky transistor junctions, who knows. I seriously doubt plugging the TV in had anything to do with it.
You could go into BIOS to ascertain if the RAM voltage is set correctly. Over-volting is a DIMM killer.

You should be able to get documentation for that board directly off Intel's web site. Intel used to give BIOS beep codes ion the board/chipset manuals.

They also have hardware monitor software as a free download. Look up "Intel Desktop Utilities Lite".

I'm planning on getting Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti, the problem is I got a pc for like 2006 and it's a dual core 2.60 ghz at 2.80 overclocked, ati hd radeon 4650, 2g kingston ddr3 ram.

is it worth getting with this pc or do I need a better one? I mainly play WoW, will this card enable me ultra graphics and shadows, or will the cpu slow me down?

will I also be able to have max multisample

thanks guys

With this settings I can get 60fps when alone questing with low ground radius and low view distance and low shadow, the rest can go max, but multisampling just on x2 makes it really slow

If not which one is recommended for a more independent gpu experience. my wow runs fairly well with max textures at what I have now, will the improvement be worth?

A:Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti, is it worth getting under my situation?

Did you buy your PC as a whole unit or did you build it (or have it built)? Are you running a 32 bit or 64 bit Operating System? What is your wattage rating on the Power Supply? If this was a computer you bought, what is the Make and Model?
Just trying to get more information about your current computer so we can make a better judgment. I could say that yes the card would better your performance, but I would also suggest other things first. Like adding more RAM (2GB is just not enough for modern games). Possibly replacing the CPU with one that is better suited for your needs (if the motherboard can handle it). Also with adding a Video card of that class, you will most likely have to replace the power supply, depending on what it is rated.
But I'm getting ahead of myself, lets get more information from you to start.

It all started when I tried to install new audio drivers from manufacturers page, but the next day when I booted PC up there were no sound. Then tried re-installing original audio drivers from motherboard CD, enabling/disabling On-Board HD Audio in BIOS but still no luck.

My Audio Device is VIA VT1705.
DxDiag shows that no sound card was found.

This is what is shown in Playback Devices tab:

Neither, I don't think it's wise to spend $350+ on what is now a legacy socket for a few extra Mhz. If you really need the extra CPU power you should save up for Ivy Bridge E (or get a 3770K), and if you're just gaming the 3570K at 4.2Ghz is more than enough.

Hey guys

I have been running a Intel Core i7 CPU 920 with a GA EX58-UD4P and still is all running perfectly well. Anyway I am running 6gb of triple channel ram and just need an upgrade and just wondering what to get? Is there any triple channel kits? Is there still any RAM out there that is compatible with this motherboard?

All the manual says is;
6 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 24 GB of system memory
Dual/3 channel memory architecture
Support for DDR3 2100/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules

I don't really mind if its not triple channel just looking for some recommendations as I know the 1366 pin motherboards where discontinued a long time ago.

A:Gigabyte X58 UD4P RAM Upgrade

There's still triple channel memory kits out there, or at least there are where I live.

Failing that just get 3 identical sticks of RAM, ideally the same manufacturer/model as your current 6GB.

I just came from a retail store to check on prices but most of their parts weren't available anymore. Instead of a G. Skill Ripjaws 2x4 8gb DDR-3 1600, the clerk offered me a Crucial Ballistix 2x4 8gb DDR-3 1866 memory. The board I'm gonna buy is an Asrock H77 Pro4/Mvp but looking at their memory support list Pro4/MVP, it doesn't seem compatible.

The clerk had told me it was compatible and that he had tried it before but I'm not sure if it'd have unwanted effects over some period of time. (I got drawn in by how the memory looks and its LED so I'm including it as a choice). Thanks.

It will be compatible, worst case scenario is just setting your 1866Mhz RAM to run at 1600Mhz. You're getting quicker RAM for free.

I recently bought this board(1 week ago) and noticed after installing windows 8 with all the drivers from the disk, that all my USB ports randomly started having problems recognizing certain USB devices such as a wireless dongle and a few wireless mouse and keyboard combos. There were no problems with any USB-storage devices. There are no yellow marks in device manager. I have updated the drivers, to what was on gigabyte their website, but it didn't workout. Did the same after installing Windows 7 to no avail. Have done some research and it seems there are problems regarding VIA VL800 chipset. I disabled it and it seems to help. Although it might not be the case, cause I've only tested it for 2 hours now without problems. But that means there are 4 USB3.0 ports on the back I can't use. Any suggestions please. Thanks in advance

A:VIA VL800 chipset for USB 3.0 giving problems on my Gigabyte Z77x-D3H

You dont wanna disable a chipset. That is the basically the heart of the PC. The CPU is the brain and the chipset is the heart. Without it, a lot of things can go wrong. I cant seem to find USB3 drivers on the Gigabyte site. Usually when I give poeple drivers from new machines, there is usually a USB 3 driver. Pretty odd. Head on over here and install the chipset driver: On the site it is listed as "Intel INF installation". If this doesnt work, I would recommend sending back the motherboard with a complaint about USB 3 not working. Never install drivers from the disk by the way. Also, the chipset driver I provided may not be 100% up to date, but I am pretty sure it is. I would give you the Intel version that may be more up to date but their download section is down.

Ive used two different headsets to see if it might have been the headset itself. im really stumped.

A:New board, no sound from front or rear jacks

Have you gone into the sound menu in your control panel and set your default audio device to your headset?

If, under the "playback" tab, the HDMI output is ticked, then this is the problem.

Just click on the correct device(It should either list your headphones or say "high definition audio", or something similar) and then click "set default".

This should solve the problem.

You also need to check if the card will physically fit in the case, that card is 275mm long.

If you want to upgrade the RAM I'd recommend just getting a new 6GB kit, RAM is very cheap nowadays.

My father wants me to find my mother a laptop, he gave me a budget of around $700. In all likelihood she will mostly use it for facebook, facebook games and movies. She will mostly be using the laptop while working in a coffee stand so she can probably plug it in whenever she needs to. She probably wont replace it for some time so something that will hold up well over the years would be nice. She hates change and is used to using windows systems so I'm not sure if she would go for a mac. I really don't know a damn thing about laptops and I have no idea what to look for or where to start so any help would be appreciated.

Hello Everyone,

Been a long time browser of TS and am glad to finally join. I am looking to utilize a Q6600 processor and the following system board and RAM:

Corsair XMS3 1333MHz PC3-10666

The goal is to moderately overclock the Q6600 to 3.2 GHz. In my research, I have read many positive reviews about the stability of ASUS boards, and the DDR3 capability is significant to me. However, from what I have gathered, this board can be fussy when overclocking the CPU. Has anyone had any experience with a similar setup?

I would appreciate any thoughts/comments/suggestions.

Thank you!

A:New project: LGA 775 board w/ DDR3 needed -- thoughts please?

Firstly, why do you need to overclock it? I'm guessing its more because you want to, than necessity, but my thoughts are below.

I run the exact same CPU in my system 24/7 and while it might be long in the tooth compared with most systems on here, it's certainly not lacking at stock speeds as it is.

Not sure if system specs is easily read right now, but for the sake of doubt, mine are: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 G0 stepping (at stock OC with Corsair H50 (push/pull) providing cooling), Abit AW9D-MAX, 8GB OCZ Gold series DDR2-1066, HD6870, Antec HCG-620 PSU, a SSD and six mechanical disks.

I wouldn't call 3.2GHz a moderate OC on the Q6600, that's more like 2.8-3.0GHz. I used to have mine overclocked but the difference was so minimal (in real terms) that the additional heat it gave off and power it consumed made it pointless. I was never able to achieve 3.05GHz or above either, but I've no doubt that more experienced hands would have managed it. Overclocking is my weaker subject in the field of IT generally speaking, and I can't say I've ever really pushed the envelope very far in that regard.

Though that said, I've always found Gigabyte boards to be much more forgiving when it comes to RAM settings. Asus in my experience can be a real nightmare with recognising the default timings and voltages for RAM, and in "my experience" need much more work to achieve the same result.

Another point that needs to be considered is LGA-775 is legacy hardware now, so you'd be spending money on defunct hardware. If you have the CPU it might be better to grab a second-hand board off of eBay or something, or maybe look to something newer and more current.

Bought me recently a new MoBo: P8H67, installed it, killed Realtek onboard in the BIOS, all thus far goes splendid.
Put in SoundMax (from my P5E Lifestyle), hardware checks ok.
Install driver... and here things go awkward: no matter what I try: SoundMax Hi Def is not found/recognized.
Tried both the DVD-soft that came with me P5E, as well as online new drivers, to no use...

Reason for SoundMax: I was slightly baffled by the power behind the tiny card, it was literally mindblowing (over my JBL's).
This power is not found on Realtek hardware, hence.

Prob: I want to keep using the tiny SoundMax, but I desperately need a driver.

What type a sticks would be the best? (has to be atleast tripple channel and prefer atleast 12GB)

A:Best RAM to use with the Gigabyte GA-X58A-OC?

Use the memory QVL as a guideline, but as a general rule Corsair, Kingston, Crucial and G.Skill work fine with Gigabyte boards. You might run into some compatibility problems if you are populating all six DIMM's (6 x 2GB), so I'd recommend a 3 x4GB kit. The lower density Vengeance kits are on the QVL, so your probably safe with a DDR3-1600C9 kit. If you're planning on overclocking, either move to a CL8 or 7 kit, or move to a DDR3-1866/2000 and see which combination of bandwidth vs latency gives you the best performance. You probably won't see any substantial gains, but this is dependant upon whether you want to get the RAM solely for the density you need (12GB), or because you enjoy the sport of overclocking and tweaking - I'm assuming the latter given the board you're using.

Here's the Kingston memory configurator results....
...and Crucial's

Corsair and G.Skill seem unaware of the X58A-OC's existence as far as their momory configurators are concerned.

A:Is SLI on a mATX board on air usually avoided?

Personally if I was building a computer without having any hardware to start with I would probably aim for a higher end single card rather than 2 older and now mid range 460 GTX cards. That way in the future you can pickup another higher performance card and then use SLI.

As for mATX and SLI, as long as the board supports it then there is no problem. You have stated its in a full tower so airflow won't be a problem. You might find some problems such as PCI 1x slot blocked/unusable when you have two double slot (two expansion slot height) PCI-E graphics cards in the motherboard.

hello, ive had this desktop computer for years now and the processor is extremely outdated. I have been looking around trying to figure out how i can upgrade the processor speed but it seems the more i look up the less i know about computers...

anyways i have: Board: MICRO-STAR MS-7184
Serial Number: 5922655884

current proccessor: 2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64
256 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Not hyper-threaded

I believe the socket is a 939? when i looked up these specs i found that the highest processor i can place is " AMD Athlon 64 X2 (up to 4800+) and Sempron (up to 3200+) processors".

Can anyone verify this?Or is it not worth investing in a new processor? i am looking to find the best upgrade rather then spending cash to buy a new computer. Any advice would be extremely appreciated.

A:Looking to upgrade processor, board Micro-Star MS-7184

Hey Noctis,

Truth be told you are better off upgrading your Motherboard, RAM, and Processor if you want to see any substantial difference. A socket 939 is quite a bit old and since then they have move onto the AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, etc sockets for AMD Mobos and Processors.

Socket 939 processors are to the point where they are no longer just old enough to be cheap. Since they are no longer made they are old enough to be more expensive than modern counterparts in many cases.

When upgrading the MOBO and CPU you want to look into more than just the processor speed. Important factors are also the types and amount of cache for a processor, number of cores, and RAM that can be used with that CPU.

The newer Athlon II X2s as an example are a significant leap from the original Athlon 64s and a discerning buyer online can find them significantly cheap. AM2+ boards are currently somewhat inexpensive and so is DDR2 RAM. They are currently at the stage where they are old enough to be somewhat cheap but with the newest socket and processors being sold by AMD now it may change iwthin the next few years to start getting expensive again from being old enough.

You also have the route of a AM3 with DDR2 or DDR3 Ram option available which are also moderately priced.

If you check out the website you can look at pricing for several different mobos, cpus, etc from various websites easily. I just completed a full build including case, HDD, Mobo, CPU, DVD-RW, RAM, Graphics card, etc for just over $350.00

If anybody has been avoiding the new crop of Gigabyte 990 chipset boards in favor of other brands because it lacks a UEFI BIOS. That problem has been overcome. Gigabyte has included what they call 'Touch Bios hybrid' in the lastest bios revision for the 990 chipset boards.
I have played around with it extensively and it seems to work spot on. None of the Lag issues or problems accepting or holding the settings in the 'DOS' Bios.

if you have one of these boards like I....The bios update (F5) and TouchBios can be had here

The long time beta 'F4' bios is now released (actually F5 came out today) and includes the bios for the opening Bulldozer lineup.
As the Bios is usually a last minute ,up to the buzzer item... I wonder if this means it's going to be in the next week??? probably not.

A:Gigabyte's answer to UEFI

Christ on a bike! How slow is the AMD chipset BIOS updating?

Touch BIOS has been shipping with all Z68 boards since they were launched (afaik) May ( as in the fifth month). I'm pretty sure that all the B3 P67 Giga boards are now shipping with Touch BIOS also -at least the ones I've worked with, although TBH I'm quite happy with the Phoenix-Award layout...although accessing the BIOS through the OS is quite handy since Gigabyte still has some power-USB kb issues at start-up/DOS.

On the subject of BD's week-away imminent release....I'm gonna go with no. Unless BD is coming to market with only Gigabyte offering compatibility. Somehow I don't see Asus forgetting that little nugget.

A:Gigabyte GT 430 HDMI version?

Yeah, if can plug in the standard TV type HDMI cable to your video card, you're golden.

The "1.3 or 1.4" issue, (or perhaps hype), pertains to data throughput, and not the physical connection configuration, so even type 1.3 will suffice for 1080p.

The 2 Gigabyte boards I have with IGP, take the standard HDMI cable, same as you would use to hook up a Blu-Ray or DVD player to your TV.

So I built this new system 2 weeks ago, and in the last week I have been experiencing small flickering and driver crashes.

I used driver cleaner to get rid of all things to do with this card, and installed the latest drivers ( Forceware 275.33)

Since doing this this morning I have noticed the flickering is almost gone. It has happened once in the last 4 hours now, this was during a game session. So far, it has not happened on the desktop yet. This morning it was every 30 seconds on the desktop AND in game.

GPU is running very cool, both side panels have been off since I built it 2 weeks ago, MSI Afterburner registers 31 Celcius for the GPU right now.

What is a good way to stress test this card to make sure it is not the card itself? I think it is a driver issue...I HOPE it is a driver issue.

Probably the easiest stability check is to use Furmark, and use GPU-Z and/or Afterburner to monitor voltages/temps

Quite a comprehensive unofficial review of Gigabyte's upcoming flagship motherboard- GA-880FXA-UD7- with AMD's 990FX chipset+ SB950 southbridge has surfaced...should you need any reminding that Bulldozer will soon be upon us.
Layout and colour scheme is in keeping with Gigabyte's recently released P67A/Z68 boards, and seems to offer a very comprehensive feature set including quad SLI, as well as the more usual quad CrossfireX, which would indicate that two NF200 chips reside under the heatsink between the MOSFET cooler and the first of seven PCIe x16 slots, or under the huge SB chipset cooler- since Nvidia don't as a rule offer quad card SLI unless all GPU's are afforded the bandwidth that a full 16 lanes provide.

Review is in Japanese so use your favourite translator

Even though the extra bandwidth afforded by triple channel only shows up in the memory bandwidth synth, I am surprised AMD did not adopt triple channel controller for the BD.
I am also surprised by only 2 x USB 3.0 on the back I/O...again just for appearance sake ( you know how that works).

A:My Gigabyte BIOS won't change the boot order

My short answer here to this, is that it sounds like your BIOS needs a swift kick in the pants! Maybe the BIOS just needs a jump start, maybe to get things back on track. This is just a real quick little fix, if it works.

1. Remove the computer from power, unplug the power cord from the power supply.

2. Take the side panel off your computer case, exposing the guts of the machine.

3. Look for the motherboard, then look for a small shiny chrome colored battery.

4. Remove that chrome colored battery off the motherboard.

5. With the battery removed, take your hand and press the (power) button on the front of the case.

6. Keep that button depressed and or pushed for approx. 30 to 40 seconds, while your computer BIOS is drained of it's power and hopefully it's current setting.

7. Let off the (power) button, replace the chrome battery back onto the motherboard, replace the side panel of the case and reconnect the computer power cord to the back of the power supply.

Now turn on your computer and see if that helped take care of some things! Again, this is just one of those quick fixes that may or may not always work.

Hope this helps.

You bought DDR400 so I'd say your RAM is not supported by your motherboard. Also, the voltage standard for your motherboard is 2.5 volts. Your RAM needs 2.6 volts although it should still run if your motherboard supported it in the first place. You might be able to bump up the voltage in the BIOS but I can't say for sure.

Hi guys.

1st post go easy please....

I want to upgrade my dated & laggy CPU. Intel P4 3ghz (531)

I have been looking at the Q6600, Is that the best one my board can take for around the Ģ100 mark?

I am running Windows 7 x32 with 4gb of ram (3gb showing) my fault for selecting x32! i am after a boost in performance, I use the PC for graphic design web build, so as you can imagine i use some hungry programmes.

What do you guys suggest...?

A:Gigabyte EG41MF-US2H CPU upgrade?

The Gigabyte G41 board you've listed supports almost any LGA775 socket CPU. So therefore, it's a mystery, (at least to me), why you've selected such a relic as the Q6600 for the upgrade. You'd probably do much better with a more modern quad.
Oh well, here's the CPU support page: Think on it for a bit..

My memory is read in bios as physically there but not "enabled" in slot 5.

When my memory (Patriot PSD361600kh) is in slots 1, 3, and 5 I can't boot without "recovering VRAM lost...." in loading screen being the last thing before a reboot.

Memory in slots 1, 2, and 3 load into windows showing 6gb in the loading screen and also in windows, but Dual Channel instead of Tri Channel.

Do I have a bad slot on my mobo or am I missing some bios setup?

Also, When memory is in slots 1, 3, and 5 (like manual suggests for tri channel) CPU-ZID reads 6gb in tri channel, but Bios reads 4 gb usable.

I know there was a bios update and to version FB, and I did that. I also set my memory to run at 1.64V instead of 1.5V.

Please Help

So I recently had my main computer crash and break to the point I need a new computer so I figured I'd make it worth it this time.

Here's the deal: (add the www to see it)

Everything on there seems decent but I am curious about the board itself. Would the Intel Desktop Board DP55WB Motherboard be good for gaming, which I wish to use my computer mainly for. I have at most a 700 dollar budget and this seems like a nice deal for it. I plan on putting a Geforce GTX 580 graphics card in it as soon as I get the money as a little side note if it matters.

I'd suggest looking at the same chipset, but in either Gigabyte or Asus brands. Intel boards are fine, as much as it goes, but the BIOS is very limited as to configuration for different memory, and overclocking options. Intel really markets it's boards as mainstream items, intended for average users and businesses, they're not really aimed at the enthusiast.

The feature set can vary widely from board to board, and you should have a look at these pages to see which board has the capabilities you need;

Asus P-55; 600008216&IsNodeId=1&name=Intel P55

I have a perfectly working card, but now it's a brick as I flashed it by an accident.
I need a bios of the 128mb version of X1300.
Please try to help me - If anyone has this card, please pm me - If you don't know how to extract it's bios, I will show you, it's very simple and will not damage your card.
Already contacted Gigabyte's Techsupport, they want me to RMA the video card, too bad it's out of warranty, they are less than helpful and since I don't want to start cursing, I will stop here about their support.

A:Gigabyte's ATI Radeon X1300 128mb - bios needed

you can dump the card's BIOS easily with GPU-Z, so if you can't find the right file your best bet may be to just buy another one, used. i can't seem to dig up any BIOS files on any of Gigabyte's international sites or on Tech PowerUp either, and I don't have an X1300 but i may know someone who does. i will post back if i find anything out.

I have brand new comp, but i have been noticing some performance issues. Every once in a while(usually when i start winamp or some other programs) the comp will freeze for about 5-8 secs then there will be this weird clicking sound from inside teh case. The system will unfreeze and work well again. Lately it has been worse. I play LOL and WOW and both have been freezing up(not responding) and not un freezing. I get great framerates when im sitting still or moving straight, but when i try to pan my camera it will give me like 1 - 2 FPS. Also LOL, might just be server side lag, because I can still see what people are doing and there isnt any jumping, but my clicks dont go through for several seconds some times.

Hellos. I'm looking into replacing the case fans on my Antec Nine Hundred, since they're extremely loud and obnoxious. I've looked into some thermalright fans that use 3pin headers and I have some questions about that

My motherboard (MA770T-UD3P) has 3 headers on it.

Sys_fan1 (GND / +12V speed control / Sense / Reserve)
Sys_fan2 (GND / +12V speed control / Sense)
Pwr_fan ((GND / +12V speed control / Sense)

So.... I am looking to getting *two* fans at least. They're 3-pin fans... and I'm not sure if I can plug them into any of these motherboard headers. As far as I can tell... they're all the same, but with different names and one with an extra pin that doesn't do anything =\

But I might be wrong.

If anyone could give me some advice, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks

A:Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P fan headers question

There is no difference between all the 3 pin fan headers. Its more for monitoring purposes through software so you know which fan is spinning if you're into that kinda thing.

As for the 4 pin header, its for PWM controlled fans. You can still plug in a 3 pin fan into it, and it will work without a problem.

And while its not a problem here, you can plug a 4 pin fan into a 3 pin header. The only problem there is that the fan won't be PWM controlled.

A:HD 5850 new Gigabyte or Sapphire Game Edition ?

All HD 5850 cards support Eyefinity. The only proviso's being that one of the (if using) three monitors need's to be connected via Display Port, and as you have alluded to, the Eyefinity support for the card (without Crossfire) is going to be fairly limited at 5040x1050 or higher- it is game dependant of course, but a lot of games are going to be reduced to lower detail and quality settings.
Personally I'd go for the Gigabyte card. Gigabyte products have a good reliability record and , if after two years, you decide to upgrade, then reselling the card with a years warranty still available will add to its value compared to the card being on-sold with no warranty.

Just got a new P55A-UD6 and two SATA3 6GB/s drives and would like to do a fresh RAID O and OS installation. Sure I will connect the two drives to SATA connectors "GSATA_6" and "GSATA_7" which are controlled by Marvell chip (for SATA3 6GB/s). Then I go to the BIOS / Integrated Peripherals / GSATA 6_7 Controller and make it "Enabled". Then to GSATA 6_7 Ctrl Mode.

Now the question is: in GSATA 6_7 Ctrl Mode, which option should I choose for RAID O setup? It only has "IDE" and "AHCI" but NO "RAID" option???

To cut the long story short, how do I enable the RAID funtion on Marvell 9128 chip?

A:RAID O setup on Gigabyte P55A-UD6

Gigabyte's manual should cover RAID setup. I've owned a few gigabyte boards, and they always cover RAID setups quite well.

The other possibility is that RAID might not be enabled for that 2 SATA ports. Not all SATA ports are covered by the NB, which is why they usually have different colours.

I thought that socket 478 was Intel (Pentium Celeron), now I come to find out that it's AMD.

An AMD Sempron 3000 only comes in one speed, if it's another speed, then it has a different number.

All of the s*** you mention is beyond obsolete, so maybe it's time for a whole 'nuther computer. Please, I heartily suggest that you avoid attempting to build a machine, at least in your current state of mind.

I don't think that any of us here are really equipped to deal with the anxiety, angst, or incoherent and rambling thought patterns you have exhibited thus far, let alone what you're trying to pass off as sentence structure.

A:Dual Channel memory in single channel board?

Well, I can say I solved my own problem.

After I spent the last 4 hours trying to find the problem. I ran a bunch of mem tests, cleaned the mem slots, etc... It turns out it wasn't a hardware issue at all. I was wiggling my mouse on start up and noted the time it froze... and every time it froze an application was launching in the system tray.

Turns out it was Norton F'ing Anti Virus....

The second it launched the computer froze. So I booted in safe mode and disabled the start up and all other functions of Norton. Rebooted in normal mode, and sure enough, it worked! Without a hitch!

Now here comes the Beach of it. Since I couldn't uninstall Norton because I disabled it (i.e. nothing would run because all the extensions, shells and services for it were dead), I rebooted in safe mode to uninstall, BUT Norton doesn't work in safe mode... WHAT!? The damn program specifically states in a condescending dialog box that you "must reboot in normal mode to access Norton... blah blah blah"

What kind of Virus program doesn't let you access it in safe mode? Isn't that the point, to run a virus scan in safe mode? Piece of crap! But anyways, I digress.

So now I finagled a way to run in normal mode without Norton launching to uninstall it. Uninstalling as we speak, actually.

To answer my own question:
Yes, dual channel kits work in single channel boards (Just make sure you uninstall Norton before you put the new RAM in, haha).

It will have to be connected by d sub not dvi so I'm not sure if image quality is a very big deal. She will use it for browsing and 2d games such as zuma and bejeweled as well as browsing but her ancient pc only has integrated graphics so will it handle it fine?

I was thinking that these ones looked good but I'm not sure which will be most reliable.,N82E16824009174,N82E16824009145
Edit: Ahh yes of coarse I forgot to mention the budget, 150 to 170 would be ideal.

Hey im thinking of upgrading my pc so i can just hook it up hdmi to my tv. Ive looked around and my mobo only supports pci cards, which when i checked the hdmi out cards were a bit pricey. It also has one agp 4x slot but cant find a decent card in that department.

Should i get a new MOBO instead with an integrated hdmi out because another benefit of that would be a better CPU and ram support (mine currently says max memory is 1 gig on crucial, but i looked up the serial and says it supports 2) I do want a faster and stronger rig but dont know if all my components would matche up with a new board.

What would i need to look for in terms of choosing either of these options. My case apparently supports uATX (micro).

A:Upgrade board or new video card?

Depends on your cash situation. Sounds like your PC is a bit old so a refresh would be in order. Particularly if you have a nice TV, you are probably going to want to use the PC for gaming/media.
